(00:01):
Hello and welcome to the side Woo.
This is. Your host, Tebow helping you
navigate the. Wild and mysterious.
Path, that is the creative life.Join me as I ask our guests.
About the tools they use. To help them survive in the
creative wilderness. Hello, welcome back.

(00:24):
It's Transtero Part 2. This is the second week.
I hope everybody refrained from saying something they would have
regretted last week. That was one of the pieces of
advice I feel like I did after that.
Yeah. So I'm also going to share this
on my podcast. So for podcast listeners, if you

(00:46):
do want to see the the cards that I'm using, you can go to
YouTube or Spotify, which will have the video.
But yeah, I just wanted to introduce what I'm up to.
I typically do a podcast on Thursdays and have been a little

(01:07):
bit behind a production schedule, but I want to stay
connected to this community and offer a little extra something
which I feel like is always in the form of tarot somehow, or
tarot, whatever you want to callit.
But yeah, I'm here in Santa Fe, for those who don't know.

(01:28):
And I'm in my backyard right nowwith this cute little stained
glass window. And what I'm going to be doing
for the tarot readings, which will be in addition to
interviews and normal content, is doing a little reading, one
card for the energy of the week and then one card for the
counter energy. And it is coming from a place

(01:52):
that's really interested in gender fluidity.
And, you know, if a card is masculine or feminine, those
energies are used in the sense that we all have both.
So I don't want anyone getting gender dysphoria if I pull the
Empress card or something and you identify as masculine.

(02:12):
So yeah, just kind of using thatas context, but I also wanted to
say for those listening, I just found out yesterday for my Bay
Area friends that we lost Margaret Tedesco.
And I just, it felt like kind ofa punch in the gut to hear that.

(02:33):
And for those who knew her, she was such a fixture of the Bay
Area arts community and just like such a beautiful person to
have around. And I feel like I learned so
much from her, just like how sheoperated in the world and what
it means to be part of a community over the course of
however many years and to continuously find ways to give

(02:56):
back but also, you know, shine your own weird light.
And like, yeah, I feel like she's the person who told me the
expression power bottom. So thank you, Margaret.
That was very enlightening. We were kind of talking about it
outside of sex, but, you know, obviously that's where it comes

(03:19):
from. But yeah, so I will think fondly
on her. And I'm going to probably write
something up on my blog. So if you listen to the podcast
but don't follow along, I am nowwriting my blog on medium.com
instead of Sub Stack. You can find the archive on Sub
Stack, but I am currently posting everything new on

(03:40):
Medium. Unfortunately they don't do a
newsletter style e-mail. They have a push to.
They like cut off all your newsletters and make you go to
Medium as a platform. But if you do want to read the
rest of my emails, I am keeping the paywall because I just think

(04:02):
it's good for the program. Like I'm trying to help other
people monetize as well as myself.
It's $5 a month to be a member on Medium and then you get to
read everyone's content and you do probably get like a couple
free ones. So if you are new and want to
check it out and don't want to pay like I don't pay for any of
my my video content right now, you know, cuz I'm doing trials.

(04:26):
But you can definitely do that with medium or if you want to
message me, there might be a wayto do scholarships so you can
reach out. Like I'm not going to keep
people from having access to my content if they really want it.
So definitely you know, you can follow along.
I believe it's Tibo 2 #2 Studio is the handle.

(04:48):
Otherwise, looking up art date on Medium will get you to my
newsletter. Or you can go to my website,
tebow2studio.com and reach out to me there.
Or yeah, there's a number of ways to find me, but not on
Instagram and no longer on Sub stack.
So yeah, that's a little like housekeeping since I haven't

(05:09):
done an intro for a while. So I just wanted to kind of
check in and give people an update.
Yeah, I'm still here and still still queer, still in Santa Fe,
NM, figuring it out where in my Western gear.
But yeah, let's do a card for the week.

(05:30):
So I wasn't very specific last week about the dates, but I'm
reading this on Monday the 20th and I'm going to have this
reading be good. I'm going to publish it
tomorrow. So it'll be October 21st, which
is the new moon in Libra. Actually, I'm just going to do
the reading about the new moon because that's a good chunk of

(05:51):
our life. That's a month or so of of good
vibes, hopefully because it's Libra.
Although there is a ton of superintense other stuff going on
around the new moon, but we're going to focus on new moon in
Libra. No OK, well good vibes was maybe

(06:14):
the wrong expression. Good vibes.
OK, so new moon and Libra we've got the three of skulls.
I am per last week as well usingthe Grateful Dead Tarot and
three of skulls is similar to three of swords.

(06:36):
So if you're familiar with Threeof Swords, it's a heart with
knives in it and there's rain coming down.
So it's kind of the the card of tough conversations in this one.
You have a red skull, a blue skull, and then a Grateful Dead
skull. It's kind of making me think

(06:57):
like the Grateful Dead skull is like the one where, you know,
both sides are integrated, whether these are like political
parties, hot and cold, you know, different different opinions,
different preferences, differentpeople.
But Grateful Dead is among all like above all else is very

(07:18):
chill and wanting peace and love, I kind of assume anyway.
So I feel like this tough conversation slash series of
tough conversations because we're talking new moons.
So probably that's like opening this window of time where you're
going to have to have some maybeboundary setting conversations,

(07:42):
telling people things they don'twant to hear, changing plans
because things have changed, information that you may have
gotten or information that otherpeople need to have.
Oh, we've got this like, fun little seed floating around.
There It is. Yeah.

(08:04):
So I feel like all that, becauseit's a Libra, is going to be a
lot easier. And that might be part of the
Grateful Dead vibes is Libra is above all else, something that
likes to weigh out their options.
It's an air sign. And Libra likes to be

(08:26):
peacekeeping but also seek justice.
So I think you know of the toughest conversations you might
have. Think about the win win.
Think about ways to deliver yourmessage from the heart.

(08:46):
And you know, even though we're talking air sign, I think
there's a way to consider how tolike present information so it's
more heartfelt or softer. But I think it's also important
that you don't, like, avoid saying the thing that you need

(09:08):
to say because ultimately, if you're not telling the full
truth, it's going to come out later or that person might get
confused. And so you want to just be
clear, but don't be too like harsh with it.

(09:29):
But it does seem like, yeah, maybe there's some like firm
boundaries that need to be set. So and maybe the Libra energy
might get in the way of you wanting to set the firm
boundary, but it seems like maybe you need to do that.
So the energy that's kind of like helpful slash contrary to

(09:54):
is the 8 of roses more skulls, which has a flaming skull in the
background and roses in the foreground.
This is also the same as 8 of cups, which is a card that
usually has a person hiking off into the mountains.

(10:14):
You know, kind of turning their back on a community of cups in
the front in the foreground on the the sea level.
And then they're kind of hiking up to get their kind of hermity
perspective. In this one.
The flaming skull is really interesting because this feels a
little apocalyptic, a little bitlike the judgement card because

(10:37):
it's got that flame to it, but it also has these Bluffs and
water and some twinkling stars. So there's like some moon energy
with it too. Like maybe this is a moon rise,
which in this case we're a new moon, so you wouldn't see the
moon. But I think with this card in

(11:01):
contacts, the three of skulls, I'm now thinking is about, you
know, saying your truth to bringpeople together and maybe to
build closeness. And then the contrary slash
complimentary energy to that is don't forget to go the way that
you intended to go when you first started this conversation,

(11:22):
the three of swords or three of skulls conversation.
So, you know, if you start telling someone some thing that
they don't want to hear, maybe some bad news, something you've
decided, don't let them talk youout of it.
I think there may be like them also wanting to bring you in and

(11:45):
stay close and, and really the energy is you have to go your
own way and it will ultimately be best for everyone.
You just don't know like the outcomes because we can't know
all the things all the time, even though we really want to.
Especially if you're a Scorpio, you want to have a little bit of

(12:07):
a preview of everything that's happening.
But yeah, so I hope that helps. I think it's like you can go
your own way and not be lonely like the Fleetwood Mac song.
You don't have to feel like callit another lonely day.
You can actually be part of a community, but also leave it

(12:27):
from time to time to go find something else or to move on to
the next thing. So yeah, I hope that helps.
I will be hopefully posting a new episode on Thursday, so stay
tuned for that. And yeah, follow me on all the
things. Thanks so much for checking in.
And we'll, we'll see you next time.

(12:50):

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
