The Single Chronicles

The Single Chronicles

The Single Chronicles Podcast started out talking about the shenanigans of coping with being single. (1st season) Somewhere down the line, I somehow unearthed past/unhealed traumas and I am now in this place called, "Shadow work" doing this healing thing. This is a therapeutic, venting (sometimes ranting) session that mitigates how hard it is to love yourself by dealing with past/preset traumas and avoiding future, toxic relationships while discovering the misconception that the perfect relationship or partner does not exist.

Today's episode feels more like psych class but I had to talk about it. Emotionally manipulation happens to us all and often we are equally guilty of it. That being said, some claim to change or be accountable for their actions, and rightfully so but it is very seldom. An emotionally Manipulative person can be a romantic partner, spouse, friend or relative. Regardless of their role in your life, their actions and mannerisms depict ...

Today's episode begs the question, are you happy? In a world plagued with anxiety, depression, and even danger... we get caught up in a whirlwind of losing our happiness. Because we focus so much of time lamenting the past and worrying about the future, we lose sight of appreciating the now. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/insomniac-writer/message

This week I wanted to finally address my thoughts on the whole "passport bros" and Andrew Tate. I forgot to mention that men, in particular rich, white men have sought out wives, mail-order brides, to even concubines for centuries. But no one batted an eye. It may be the surge of social media & other podcasts but the conversations are everywhere. Folks all have something to say. Nonetheless, why do people care? And why is that we n...

This episode is brought to you by the pervs that slide into my DMs only to send 🍆 pics, say inappropriate nonsense, or just think I'm ready to pop my legs open just because they think I'm available. Only to shy away when you ask tough questions. This is why single does not equal available. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/insomniac-writer/message

This week I discussed the hypocrisy of men based on supposedly "real" post on Instagram. He bashed the fact that he knocked up 7 women with no regard to take care of any of those kids. My issue actually wasn't that. It was that he casually saw more wrong in the fact that these women slept with him (says a lot about his character), than the fact he got them irresponsibly pregnant. It's funny how the Roe V. Wade conversations said it...

So, what is toxic validation? This week I went live on my TikTok to record this week's episode and discuss why we go back and seek validation or feel voids from toxic people. I was inspired by a post referring to why we go back to toxic exes and people. It reminded me of that time why I was consoling a close friend through a break up all the while asking why I too kept going back to problematic and toxic people.   There was no prom...

You ever wonder if some folks will ever catch a clue? Like how is it that they can't figure out that you either don't like them in the same way they do or that you want more? That last part especially, like hello!!!  Either way... Reading signals can be tough. The ultimate catch 22 or something 😭. Tune in for this season 3 finale.

After seeing Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, I got to thinking how lead black actresses are never the love interest or "shipped" with anyone. It's like we have a certain role to play as the sassy, independent, strong character, whose only purpose is to be the savior. While I know Shuri's character was literally written to be this way but even in other films, black women are rarely the love interest. Just watch any rom-com not targe...

So this week's episode is inspired by a tiktok video of a guy complaining about why women lose weight... As if we don't already suffer from body image issues. I've noticed that so many of my clients have come to me to lose weight but it's because they want to feel better not because a guy feels we should. Since I didn't have a business to spotlight, I wanted to take this chance to ask you all to vote for me in the Fab Over 40 conte...

Ever wonder why your relationships and endeavors fail about the same time? I mean these things usually end about 1 year or 2 or 3 no matter how much you try to make it work! It's as if a roadblock puts you back on a hamster wheel bringing you back to where you started. This week's episode, I decided to talk about reflection instead of deflection & how it led to my healing path as well as where it has brought me. I got a long way to...

So comedian Aries Spears decided to take jabs at Lizzo when asked about her music. The often controversial comedian has since been getting a lot of flack as a result. Lizzo on the hand did not directly address Spears with a comment but did clapback after winning a VMA. While I hate the bullying that Lizzo has received, I also have to call out the hypocrisy of the body positivity movement too! So while this episode is not directly t...

This week's episode is about an article I read on Psychology Today, entitled, The Rise of Single, Lonely Men.  Now as I would expect, the article gained some attention after it trended on TikTok and Twitter.  Needless to say, the viral exposure ruffled the feathers of various men, especially the more misogynistic fan types of Kevin Samuels and Andrew Tate.  Despite my thoughts in this episode and reading the article,...

After a much-needed break, this week The Single Chronicles returns with a bit of a confession... from yours truly.  I often talk about accountability and owning up to the roles we play in relationships or situationships.  Well I would be a hypocrite if I didn't practice as I preach.  So here it is! I spent some of my break engulfed in a bit of an online situationship that I not only knew better to do in the first pla...
