Hello
and welcome to The SisterGirl
Sessions.
My name is Niecee and I'm Voniand we've created this show as a
space for us to get together toshare our lives, share our life
experiences, talk aboutdifferent things that are on our
mind, with a little bit of a GenX vibe.
My speech about this changesevery time we start the show,
(00:22):
but I think you all get the gistof it.
If you're new here, welcome Weare so happy to have you.
We are jumping on to do asistergirl session because today
we are in Kansas City, Missouri, and our team, the Kansas City
Chiefs are in the Super Bowltoday on the day of this
(00:43):
recording.
So we are super excited.
we just wanted to talk a littlebit about that and introduce you
all to my great grandson.
This is Mauriair.
Mauriair, say hi.
(01:04):
Say hi, baby.
I don't know.
He'll talk in a minute after hegets to hearing us talk.
I know, right?
He likes to talk and he's noteven three months yet.
He'll be three months on the17th.
Yes.
He's studying my shirt.
He likes some glitter orsomething on there.
There he goes.
(01:27):
So, we were talking earliertoday.
We're so excited about the SuperBowl live.
That's all everybody's talkingabout here in Kansas City.
And we were talking about theChiefs being in the Super Bowl
for the third time in a rowthird year in a row third year
in a row.
Yes, we done been five times inthe last.
(01:47):
Six years.
Yes, but this is three years ina row back to back last two.
We won and if we can win thistime, we will set a world
record.
Yes.
Three back to back.
So excited.
We are so excited.
I see it's so hype right now.
And then, there's a portion ofthem down in New Orleans
celebrating with the chiefs downthere, the chiefs kingdom will
(02:09):
travel.
Yeah, they do travel.
we just aint up for that rightnow, but we have our own
traditions here when we watchthe super bowl.
Yes.
Yes.
we call our home headquartersand we didn't set out to host a
big chiefs, super bowl party.
It kind of came together.
I found out about it yesterdaymorning.
And so various members of thefamily are going to come out by
(02:32):
and hang out with us and watchthe chiefs game.
So today's show will likely be ashort show.
I've been having my grandsonhere.
He's spent the night with me.
Mm-hmm Ain't that right, man.
Mm-hmm He spent the night withme.
We've been getting prepared forthe Super Bowl, getting things
prepared, enjoying ourselves.
So when everybody comes over, what do you think the vibe's
gonna be like?
(02:52):
Oh, it's gonna be so hype.
we usually get a really goodenergy.
Of excitement i'm in goodspirits.
Yeah Just excitement good food.
Good company.
Just having a good time Storiestake her, have a little drink or
two if they want to it's gonnabe a whole vibe responsibly
(03:12):
Designated drivers might be adesignated driver tonight get
everybody home safely.
We need it.
We got I know the uber driversand the door dashes Today, Uber
Eats, DoorDash, all that.
Yeah, we could take them home.
Yeah, we'll take them home.
We'll, we'll get them home.
We're very tuned in to the baby.
(03:35):
You listening to grandma?
Yeah.
I know.
You give me a smile.
Yes, it is.
But what we were talking aboutearlier when I said, that
Patrick Mahomes is manifestingof the 3-Peat yeah, well, when I
look at it, you listen to mediaand different people because
there's this whole story about, the refs are kind of siding with
(03:59):
him and, things.
They are a good team.
They are an intent team.
Yes.
You know, they are veryintentional on what they're
doing.
And I'm sorry, I know, and I'mprejudiced, but I think when
somebody's doing really good, there kind of tends to be that
certain amount of skepticismabout how they doing it and what
they doing.
But I really do believe thisteam is intent, are they
(04:21):
perfect?
No.
Do they screw up?
He done through interceptions.
I mean, yes, but I believe thatthey're a really good cohesive
team, and the fact that team isvery intent on what they're
doing, and our city is alsosupporting them in that mental
thought process of what we cango accomplish and do.
(04:43):
I'm predicting I do too.
I do.
I really believe it.
I really believe it too.
And that's where I think aboutit.
Like as far as, Patrick Mahomesmanifesting that mm-hmm And not
that he's the only one on theteam.
No, no.
But I feel like he needs itthough, like you said, they're
very intentional, but I believein energy.
Mm-hmm I believe it shifts forthe collective consciousness.
(05:03):
Yes.
Yes.
And so I feel like there'sdefinitely an energy and a vibe
in Kansas City.
Mm-hmm Where we are allcollectively, we've done it,
we've done it.
We did it the first couple.
Yes.
I do believe he has a strongintent and belief and energy
about himself that he is goingto do it.
(05:25):
The other members of the teamfeel the same way.
And because we have been on thiswinning streak per se, there's a
strong energy pushing it behindit.
And so the collectiveconsciousness of this end, the
town, the world, I've seen it onindividual games.
Yes.
Right?
Yes.
Be like you be thinking about, and then it just come outta the
(05:47):
blue.
I believe that's serious energyof the collective consciousness
pushing it forward.
So, I'm with you.
I'm.
predicting a win.
The record this time.
Now, I, one of the things I wantto put out there.
So, one of the things over thelast few years, what I'm
winning.
We're very family oriented.
I had this little running jokethat Patrick's my nephew, our
nephew.
Yeah, Kelsey too, but he's oneof my older nephews, everything,
(06:11):
but, very proud of the team andwhat they have been able to
accomplish.
And even when I go to work, wehave a very diverse family.
And so, some people at work, when I say, when I use this
reference, I said, my nephew,Patrick, and such and such gone
win cause everybody, we, I workwith people from around the
country, the Buffalo Bills, theCarolina Panthers, different
(06:33):
teams that we compete with.
And, of course, when you get onyour teams, meetings and
everything, you talking aboutthem.
And one time I said that,Patrick was my nephew.
Y'all should have saw the peopleat work.
They was, they was like, Is thatyour nephew?
Is he really your nephew?
I said, no ma'am, he is notreally my nephew.
I have just adopted.
(06:54):
He don't have to be blood.
We don't believe that.
And we have some nephews thatreally resemble Patrick.
we do.
And they live in Texas.
He's from Texas.
It's a whole thing.
Yes, sir.
but we, just adopt family, fromanywhere.
So, when you have a good vibeand a good energy, we make you a
(07:15):
part of our family.
Oh, Niecee up here talking toMari.
Mauriair here wants to have aconversation.
He want to chip in on thepodcast.
On the show.
You want to tell him something?
I know.
Tell him.
Say, I'm two months and I cantalk already.
You tell him.
Yeah, you get yourself allworked up.
(07:37):
Yeah.
Yeah, I know But yes, I totallyagree and it's a whole vibe and
I love every minute of it and Ilook forward to it every year
even though like Last year wehad, we won the Superbowl and
the parades are just like, Oh,the awesome, the city comes out.
(07:59):
I'm not one that's going to goout there and try to, navigate
the big crowds.
I've thought about it or I evenlike to be off work just to
watch it being the vibe.
I don't know if I want to be inthe thick of it, but man, it's
such a vibe and we got lastyear.
It got all the way through toalmost the end.
(08:20):
And then some people got into, altercation or something.
And some, and they started andsome people lost their lives.
And it was just so unfortunate.
Now that's the energy we don'twant.
And that's one of the energiesthat kind of flows through
Kansas City.
Yeah.
I be glad where we kind ofovercome that because some
people, call Kansas City KillerCity.
(08:42):
I don't like that.
I don't like, I don't, I don'teven like that reference of my
hometown and I love this town.
Mm-hmm I love living here.
It's a small portion of ourcommunity that has that mindset.
But overall, that is not thevibe.
No, it's not.
Kansas City is a whole vibeThat's a good people here.
It's a family oriented citythat, is really growing.
If you go to the grocery storenow, I used to go to the grocery
(09:07):
store at on Chiefs games just toavoid crowds.
Now it don't matter becausepeople are moving here.
He's talking to me.
I'm sorry.
I'm listening to you, Voni.
Yeah, I know, but people aremoving here, but we are
developing different, parts ofthe city.
There's new developments goingup, new housing, new,
Entertainment things for thecity to grow, businesses are
(09:29):
coming here to the metropolitanarea, not just in Kansas city,
Missouri, but Kansas as well.
This is our neighboring state.
Yes.
So like you said, it's a wholevibe and does our city have its
crime?
Yeah, we do, but it's not thesentiment of the entire city.
No, I don't believe it.
And when I go out shopping or indifferent areas and I always get
(09:53):
good responses from people.
It's like a community.
It is.
And just like a whole vibe.
It is.
So I really enjoy it.
Like if you think about amelting pot space where a lot of
people from different parts ofthe city from both the suburbs,
the inner core or all of thatcome together, like you go to
our city market.
(10:14):
Oh, yes.
And you will see a little bit ofeverybody, all the cultures kind
of coming together.
And when you go there, I lovegoing to our city market and
it's a whole vibe and it's likeeverybody's so pleasant and it
can be super packed, buteverybody's kind of moving and
flowing along with each otherand enjoying each other's
company and things like that.
(10:36):
Tell him about it, man.
He's like, are you talking tome, grandma?
Yes, she is.
She's talking to you.
Yes.
I hope that you all can hear mygrandson talking.
He's my great grandson.
Yes, he is.
Yes, you'd like to talk, don'tyou?
Your mom, his mom gave mepermission to have him on the
show because I didn't have timeto get him back home before we
(10:59):
wanted to do our recording so wecan get ready for the Super Bowl
game.
And see grandma, great grandma, she got him this whole little
cute outfit.
And he got some, he got alittle, look girl.
Let me show you a little outfit.
Let's take his bib off.
Yeah, when we do chief, becausehe can't like, he act like he
teething and he is only twomonths.
But look at, look at littleoutfit.
(11:20):
Outfit.
You gotta lift him up.
Lemme see.
Okay, come here man.
That's, she got a little shoes,girl.
Look at the shoes.
We got him all decked out.
We don't play about chiefs.
Yes we don't.
So, but it's a whole vibe.
Like Niecy said, it's a wholevibe and she.
(11:41):
And so we believe in ourkingdom.
Now you gotta put it back on himcause he gonna be messing it up.
Yeah, we gotta keep his outfitnice.
Or just he'd be slopping allover the place.
Yes! Yeah.
So, yes, I love that.
That part about our city, as itrelates to our sports team, even
when they weren't doing thatgreat.
Mm hmm.
They were still with the teamthe people who love the Chiefs.
(12:03):
You love the Chiefs.
Yes Oh, yes, that's one goodthing.
And my husband's a diehardChiefs fan.
We've been Chiefs fans foryears.
Yeah He taught us aboutfootball, and all of this so now
We get right in there with them.
Now I don't really watch otherteams or nothing.
Neither.
I don't follow them at all.
Unless they're playing theChiefs.
Unless I watch them if they'replaying the Chiefs.
(12:24):
But I do, I have to watch somegames with my husband,
sometimes, but overall I justfocus on the Chiefs.
Yes.
It is.
I was thinking about how Ouryounger generations, like I was
saying, my grandkids are comingup and one of our nieces, our
younger generations are comingto hang out with their aunties
for the Superbowl and, Voni'sdaughter and her granddaughter.
(12:49):
So we'll have some of theyounger generation, but I find
it interesting that they've kindof started taking to it.
I mean, there was a that timewhere they'd be like.
Y'all watching the game.
All right.
We'll call y'all later, but theyknow we cook.
We got food.
So it's a whole thing So like wegot what meatballs chicken we
got we give that we lay itspread out.
Yeah, but we have a good energyYeah, we're not doing a full
(13:11):
meal today, but they know theyget a good They get good food
and good company.
So we're gonna have a good timeYeah, so we'll be hosting here
at headquarters today.
Yeah.
Yes.
No, we didn't really haveanything like totally mapped
out.
We were going to go in adifferent direction, but we
thought we'd put on our chief'sgear We're so hyped and excited.
We wanted to get on here andshare a little bit about our
(13:34):
chief celebration of Going tothe Superbowl for the 3rd time
In a row Yes, and we are gonnamake that happen, aren't we
Mauriair?
Yeah, he's like, Aunt Voni'stalking to me now.
Yes, everybody's talking to you.
Yes, yes she is.
I know.
See, I know you just love her.
He loves his Aunt Voni.
I'm very happy to share mygrandson with y'all.
(13:56):
Yes.
He's such a good baby y'all.
He don't really cry unless he'shungry.
Got a little gas.
Yeah, say i'm a good baby.
Yes, he is.
I know.
Do you have anything We don'thave to get on here every time
and have nothing really seriousto talk about or Give any
wisdoms and nuggets.
I hope y'all Are willing to hangout with us as we just vibing
(14:19):
here today.
Cause it's part of thecommunity.
And if you have a team, you'renot a Chiefs fan, man, you
should come on over to thisside.
And if you're not, and you wantto stick with your team because
you're a diehard like we are,then that's okay.
We understand.
Shoot us a message, put in acomment.
(14:40):
Let us know what, who's yourteam?
What do you feel like?
Go even warrior.
He's excited.
He's excited.
I need to talk to him.
I need to talk to him.
I love your point earlier whenwe were talking about the
(15:00):
collective consciousness.
That's the part I still say is alittle bit of a message we take
away from or give to you todaythat it with good intent.
And focus and an energy focusedon accomplishing something.
Yes, you can almost accomplishanything.
Anything.
Anything.
It's all about to me going withthe flow.
Uh huh.
Once you get in the right energyspace and you hold a strong
(15:22):
belief about it, and you canmanifest it.
Manifest it, I love it.
You don't throw no doubt on thetrail.
Yeah, yeah.
And am I a master manifester?
No, no.
Sometime I let my, ego jump inon the trail sometimes and it
could throw me off or hold meback just a little bit, but I
recognize when I'm doing it.
So I'll dust myself off and tryagain, but I have manifested
(15:45):
some things in my life.
Have I ever told the story onhere about when I lived in the
city and I wanted to move to thesuburbs.
You told you moved to thesuburbs, but you didn't tell how
you got.
Yes, we were living in the city.
I was with my mom at that timeit was after my kids got grown.
I think I talked about that andI went roommate with my mom.
(16:06):
Well, as you, we said, alwaysbeen really close.
And so we used to come to Voniand T's house all the time.
They lived in this.
Very neighborhood that we livein now and when we used to come
to their neighborhood and hangout I used to sit out on their
porch And pretend like I livedthere I used to pretend like I
was one of their neighbors andwhen we go out and Ride around
(16:28):
in the neighborhood here in thisneighborhood people always
waving to speak to you So i'd belike hi neighbor.
Hi neighbor and I used to alwaysPretend like I lived here and I
was like, I want to live here Iused to look at different houses
in the neighborhood.
Like I want to live here I likethat house.
I maybe that one maybe this oneand my mom and I we both did
that And so when we first movedto the burbs, then we went to an
(16:51):
apartment But then we ended updoing this joint venture thing.
And so it was like I ended up inthis neighborhood.
I manifested that veryintentionally too.
And we done bought two housestogether.
Two houses In the same relativeneighborhood, we went a mile
outside of my first house.
She was sitting on my porch.
We may be about Six blocks.
(17:15):
Yes.
We could walk there, we couldwalk there easily.
To your old house.
And I used to sit on the porchall day, I was like, I've
manifested that shit.
I got a shirt that says manifestthat shit, I might have to wear
it one day on our show.
It did teach me, it gave meconfidence in my manifesting
(17:35):
abilities.
I've manifested other things.
I manifested jobs, success incareer, career, healing in my
relationships sometimes withfamily members and things like
that.
So I'm just watching you.
,it's a whole thing, energy andbeliefs.
If you believe itwholeheartedly.
(17:58):
Walk into it with confidence.
You can overcome it.
And that's what I think we'regoing to do today.
With the Chiefs.
And you should think about andmanifest or have those positive
thoughts for your own outcomesand things.
Healing.
Health.
Relationships.
(18:18):
Jobs.
Yes.
Finances, whatever you need, youcan do it.
I agree.
Yeah.
Remember when I had H1N1?
Oh my gosh.
Yes.
Does anybody Remember H1N1?
Yeah.
They had freaking crossbows, like danger crossbows on my
door.
Man, I come out my room.
(18:38):
You can see what my eyes theyhad me is shrouded down and
everything.
I was like, man, it was time totell me my organs was failing.
And I said, I'm about to leavethis hospital when I made up my
mind.
My health took a turn.
I walked up out that mug.
Yep.
And you've taught us too, likethrough healing meditation.
(19:00):
Ooh.
And that's just a form of breathwork focus and giving that
intentional thought Yes.
As well.
And talking to your cells ofyour body, uhhuh about it, about
your healing.
Yes.
Yes.
I do believe that.
It's very powerful.
It do it.
Even when I had that accidentand my neck was all messed up,
they'd think I'd be, I stillcan't write.
Very good.
I'm sad.
That's the saddest part.
(19:20):
My penmanship is gone, butthat's a small price to pay.
Given how hurt I was.
So, being able to heal myself,I'm like, I don't even claim it.
Nope.
Heal some things.
When that happened to me, heal,I'll be like, it's healed, like
it's gone.
I don't claim I'm an alcoholic.
I was alcoholic.
Mm-hmm.
I'm not, I'm not claiming any ofthat.
I'm claiming what I am today.
(19:41):
Today.
Amen.
Amen.
I love it.
I'm rambling, but That's allright.
You see what I was talking aboutyou want to say hi to the people
people Say go Chiefs.
His name is Mauriair.

(20:04):

something like that, don't likethe Chiefs, that's all right
(20:25):

We still love you.
Room for the opposing team.
We still wish you the best.
We ain't going to get mad.
We ain't going to get mad.
