What's it like leaving something you spent years building?
Selfishness is important.
Selfishness is vital to life.
Legacy doesn't matter.
Legacy is a lie.
What matters is the memories we make with the time we have.
We tiptoe through life careful not to cause too much noise.
We like the idea of being harmless but cherish control.
We grow up and become hungry for power.
The question becomes, which side of power do you fall into?
Why is youth something that escapes us but is the one thing we constantly seek?
You never have enough time.
It's all your fault.
What does it mean to a human being to have value when our lives are based on nothing but external validation?
Is self-worth really all that common to come by?
This year, instead of resolutions, I have a theme.
The theme for 2022 is simple yet difficult.
"Pull The Trigger"
What is it that makes you, you?
Aging is a weird thing.
Since when was getting older include life being a constant worry of concern?
Becoming an adult is not what people led me to believe it would be.
That's okay though.
There's no telling when the change in life stops.
But when it does, maybe that's when we should be worried.
Everything good must come to an end.
Whether or not I'll be back is not the point.
The point is that this has happened.
Thank you.
The people who have managed to change the world, influence society, and maintain lifelong happiness all have one thing in common.
They all dared to be different.
This life is filled with ideas and assumptions.
And we chase those ideas and assumptions.
What if in the end, we can all look each other in the eyes and say with a smile "I didn't know what I was doing either."
Our fears keep us in the palms of everyone else's opinions.
Our worries drown us.
Our comparisons leave us in the shadow of mediocrity.
In the end, what if it really is just us getting in our own way?
Energy is neither created nor destroyed...
It only changes forms.
The same could be said for us.
We always talk about risk with a negative tone.
But what if I told you it plays a much bigger and positive role than you think?
It's time we change our relationship with risk.
We spend our entire youth as if adolescence is something to escape from.
Well, we're adults now.
We've "made it."
What now for the rest of our lives?
If change is the only constant, then is it ever truly possible to pinpoint who I am?
