Speaker 1 (00:37):
Anchors up sells a cloke. Welcome to the Sloop Cast.
How how are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (00:42):
By Dre? How are you doing today? Doing good? Doing good?
New tradition good Traditions were twelve. We are Week twelve

(01:02):
of of college football. We got another episode of Collegiate Chaos.
We got six games and we're a little preview of
the seventh to one at the end here. But we
got six games to pick pick from. But first before
we do that, we gotta update our tier list.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Job got update the tier list. Let's let's jump right
back into it.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yep, so right away, right away. Ohio State. Ohio State
wins convincingly, very convincingly. Stay where they're at. Indiana wins
on the road, hostile environment on the road.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah, oh yeah, quality win against an underrated team. Am
I doing the sec thing right? It's a real quality
win against an underrated football team. It's religious shows the
depth and power of the Big ten. If Penn State
we're in the Big twelve, they'd be undefeated.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Jared, You're right, and Alabama, I mean Alabama. Alabama deserves
all the credit to with their big win last weekend, right, Jared,
I'm being surpassic because they were on a bye week.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Oh yes, yes, of course, of course. But then again,
Ole miss was also on a bye week.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
So yeah, but Texas A and M did get a
road victory, actually a good win over over Missouri, who
shouldn't have been ranked. Should not have been ranked, I
I agree.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
But still a good but actually a good win. But
here we are not so shouldn't be a ranked win.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
But it was a good win. So we I think
those four teams stay in S tier state Indiana, Alabama,
Texas A, and M. But Jared, I do want to
point out, you know, maybe maybe this is me putting
on the tinfoil hat. Oh okay, all right, whatever whatever,

(03:04):
like we need to create like an S plus. That's
because that's where Ohio State belongs right now.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
If you want to make that argument. And by the way,
if you look at the Vegas numbers, Vegas is making
that argument, there is a pretty large gap.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
There's I believe.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
The same gap exists between Ohio State one and Indiana two.
That does between Indiana two. And I want to say,
whoever is fifth or sixth?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
So Vegas is making that it was Yeah, it was
Indiana to Georgia. Uh, it was actually Georgia slash Texas Tech.
I believe it is what the number was, so two
to five a five b okay, But but from what
is favorites to win it all? So yes, I think

(03:55):
those four teams, if you want to mind an argument,
are favorites to win.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
We can drop the other three teams and in my opinion,
that would make us consistent with Vegas. Not that I
think being consistent with Vegas is a priority now.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I think how we have it is fine because our
s raid, our s ranking is favorites to win it all.
I think those four have a chance to win it
all any given Saturday here. I think those four do deserve.
But I do think that High State has separated from

(04:30):
the pack here and we're going to see it. We're
going to see here if they maybe not this weekend,
but well more more of that on on on the
your episode, next episode. We still haven't seen Ohio State

(04:51):
like take it out of second second gear right now,
so I'm really curious on how good how State can
be here offensively, But we'll see a tier Oregon, Georgia, Ole,
Miss Notre Dame, Texas Tech. I'm I'm good with that
as well too. No, Notre Dame with a I'll say

(05:16):
a fine win, a fine win over over Navy. I mean,
it's joys tough playing playing against Navy, so I'll give
give him credit with that in an ugly weather ugly
weather game as well too, And they went convincingly convincingly
as well.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
It was a bit slow starting though, but yeah it was.
But yeah, but the the only three eightier we don't
really need to talk about Oregon, Georgia, Ole, Miss Notre Dame,
or Texas. Well. Texas Tech had a big win. They
they have put themselves in the driver's seat of the
Big twelve by smothering by U. Yeah, who was previously undefeated,

(05:56):
not just in conference but in general. Sure, can you
have O s U the only one left side of
S tier? Like Spike said, no, I don't want to
get into the business of ranking within the within the tiers.
That just doesn't That starts a whole thing that's gonna
eat up too much time.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
And I just it's yeah, all right, So the other
teams here, so we named, but there are three teams, yeah,
three teams in eight tier who we need to discuss them.
Moving down Memphis, Memphis who lost they're out of the race.
I are they? Daries dares say, like, do they go

(06:38):
into B tier or do they go into CE tier?

Speaker 1 (06:40):
What's what's the American Conference look like? Because ultimately this
is just we're guessing who's gonna win the American That's
all this is really sure, at the end of the day,
that's what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
They can still win the Americ Memphis Memphis is the
only Memphis is the only team with two losses in
conference in the American. But there are five teams still
with three games left with one loss. Can they win it? Sure?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Sure, they all need to get the second place, but
they only need to get the second place. Remember Sure
and Austin. According to Austin, Memphis plays two of the
teams ahead of them, and the other two play each other.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
So so does Navy. Navy does as well. Tulane has
the easy road. North Texas does as well too. Yeah,
I think, yeah, East Carolina plays Memphis not this week
but the following weekend. So yeah, I mean, finally keeping

(07:48):
going beatier this week?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Can I can I suggest that we replace them with Tulane,
who are the ones who beat them and they are
one of the five teams.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, yes, I'm fine with that. All right.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Oh wait, I thought Tulane and U and T played,
but they don't.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
They need one of those. Tulane plays FAU, Temple and Charlotte,
which that's a two, that's a golden two. Yep, to
have them. I'm sorry. No, Charlotte has not won a
conference game, Temple has is three and three, and FAU. Yeah,

(08:31):
FAU is not is not in conference either, so they
only have two games. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
That that seems like a game, that seems like a
It seems like a highway to the championship game for Tulane.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
So I feel very.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Comfortable putting them in a and just find out eventually
who they play. All right, b Yu, As we mentioned
when talking about Texas Tech got rocked, it's only their
first loss in conference, so I don't suggest moving them
any further down then be because they get a chance
at redemption. But they weren't competitive in that game.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
They got raw, they were not. Yeah, I think they
go down to as well. So Virginia lost as well
to first loss in conference. Weirdly, Yes, they did lose
to NC State early in the year, but it wasn't
it wasn't a conference game, first game, so they're there,

(09:27):
they're still in it. Uh, very tough game for them,
heading on over to Durham to play on play Duke.
Uh not this weekend, but the following No, no, it
is this weekend. I'm sorry, I'm getting my days mixed up. Yep,
this weekend. Yeah. So so that's gonna be that's gonna
be interesting game to see Virginia can turn that around.

(09:51):
Who else in the a C CUL Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh,
s m U, and Duke are the teams with one loss.
I think it's I think it's Georgia Tech. Yeah, I
would agree, Yes.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
They're they're I think the favorites to win the a
SEC right now, not that that necessarily means a lot. Yeah,
I mean they Georgia Tech plays a Remember when I
said Boston College, Remember when I.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Jo game yet? But then they get to play pitt
who's only lost one conference game. So they get the
bottom and then they get the top.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Remember when I jokingly said that Penn State would totally
be undefeated if they played in the Big twelve? Hm,
what if it was the a CEC And I'm not joking?

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Yeah, I hear you all right, So.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
We moved Virginia down, we move Georgia Tech up.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
Now, who's the last one that does? Who's team number twelve?

Speaker 1 (10:52):
We have five conferences represented, so we have that taken
care of. It's a wild card spot and I'm telling
on you're right now, Kyle, I can make the case
for like five teams.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
It's it's it feels very wide open.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
I'm going with the hot team right now. Okay, I'm
letting you pack. I'm gonna go with Texas.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
I don't disagree they are one of the five teams.
Here's the problem with that, though. Look at their schedule
coming up. I have very little faith that they're going.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
To this week.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
If we pect I think this week, yes, if we
if we project forward, I don't think that they end
up being one of the top twelve teams. They is
it Georgia and Texas A and M. They still have
to play They always play Texas A and M.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Last week, yes, sir, they yep, they played Georgia this weekend. Uh.
Then they play Arkansas which is a win winless in
conference Arkansas team. Yeah yeah, and then Texas A and M.
So yeah, that's that's tough.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
I don't think they're there at the end of it,
but I think they're as good a pick as anyone
for the twelfth spot right now.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
All right, right now, we.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Have in b Utah, USF, Houston. I wanted to say,
Dallas S m U, Duke Pitt, North Texas, Michigan, Memphis, USC,
Virginia BYU and we. I think we should discuss if
Miami and Louisville, who both lost this week, still belong

(12:37):
in B tier.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Let's look here or no. Miami. Miami lost two.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Weeks ago, not this last week. My mistick, But I
think the way the ACC is currently shaking out it
makes it they maybe became a little less likely to.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
Because of other teams. I put Miami for this weekend.
They would need to keep them in C. Plus they're
going to need extraordinary help to get back in, so
I'd put them. I'd put them in uh se tier
and Louisville. Louisville is in the same boat. They need

(13:17):
extraordinary help to get in. Now, they would get in
over Miami because they have the tiebreaker over them. So
if a two loss ACC teams getting in, it's going
to be Louisville.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
I really think that does, but that does also assume
that Louisville wins out, which is a whole other problem.
Sure sure, uh, Esquire says, Miami, Memphis, Louisville are names
that jumped out for possible demotion. I mean we we
discussed moving Memphis down again.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
We did.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
We discussed moving them all the way down from A
to C. We decided not to do that. Miami Louisville, Yeah,
we're demoting them.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
I think the other team to put into B tier, Jared,
moving from C to B tier only be only because
they have oh no, they do have two losses, right,
never mind, I'll just keep that to myself. All right, Yeah,
I think I think that would be it. I'm looking

(14:20):
at all the other I feel good any undefeated teams,
any team with one loss that may get in. I
heard something Jared, and I don't want to go too
much into it because we spend way too much time
into it. But there is a scenario, and this would
be hilarious, absolutely hilarious. There is a scenario where a

(14:44):
C C would not get in because remember, it's the
top five conference champions, not not not.

Speaker 1 (14:54):
It's it's not the it's not the four, it's not
the the major commit the committee doesn't have. The committee
doesn't have this balls, like just straight up, the committee
does not have the testicular fortitude to put who I
presume is Jmu in this scenario in over Georgia Tech

(15:16):
or whoever.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I just I'm just saying, there is a scenario. Is it?

Speaker 1 (15:23):
Is it realistic?

Speaker 2 (15:24):
I don't think they're not James Madison. James Madison is
ranked in the AP right now.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
I know just saying, I know, I'm saying I have
zero faith and I don't mean zero point one, I
mean zero faith that the playoff committee would actually do that. Yeah,
all right, so this is our this is our what
if do go into twelve somehow the ACC champ. They're

(15:55):
one loss teams one loss teams in the ACC. And
I'm not saying it's right, don't don't get me wrong.
I'm not defending this position. I still think they would
get in over Jmu.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
If you're an ACC fan, like conference fan, you would
not want Duke to get in. They they are overall,
they are five and four. Yeah, that is worst case scenario.
If Duke runs the table with four losses and when

(16:30):
and when's the A C C.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
I still think I still don't think the committee would
put jmu in ahead of them even if they should.
And by the way, in that scenario, Kyle, I'll even
say that they should, but they won't.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Yeah. All right, So our tier list here. In a
tier we have Oregon, Georgia, Ole, Miss Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Twulane,
Georgia Tech, and Texas and then a stre we have
Ohio State, Indiana, Alabama, and Texas A and M. With
that being said, we'll go ahead and take our ad
break for this episode here. The sloopcast dot com is

(17:15):
your go to link for anything and everything slipcast related.
There you can find our YouTube page, our discord page, Patreon,
our merch store, our seventy seventy one store, our music playlist,
and much much more over at the sloopcast dot Com.

(17:38):
We'll take that ad break in be right.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
Back, okay, Kyle, sign for the sloop picks. Quick update
on the I haven't looked is the Big twelve in
Potential Chaos result mode too, because having two of the
P four conferences as total wildcard generators would be really fun. Obviously,

(18:08):
like anything can happen as far as you know, any
given Saturday and the Big Twelve Championship game. But in
my opinion, Texas Tech is far and away the best.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Team in that conference.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
I think they I think they are the Alpha and
the Omega.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
They are.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
They are the peak of the Big Twelve. Period done.
Could they still lose in the Big Twelve Championship game, Sure,
but that's that's my call currently because you know they're
far from perfect and it only takes one game. They'll
see b YU again in the championship game. I think
there's there's a bunch of teams who it could end

(18:48):
up being. But yeah, uh, slip picks last week, I
I once again lost another point. You did everyone struggle
last week? Because the three of us who picked publicly
sure did struggle last week. Austin wins the week. I

(19:09):
think he actually ended up having a pretty good week somehow,
So Austin four.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
He won the week with four. It was a it
would Austin and cousin Jay both had four.

Speaker 1 (19:23):
Points, but but Austin won the tiebreaker.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
Yes. Yeah, speaking of cousin Ja, Yeah, spikes and I
spikes and I had three points and then everybody else
had two points.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
Yeah, it's our rough week. Speaking of cousin Jay uh.
He is our guest picker for this week. Let's let's
see how this goes. I guess I'm trying to Kyle.
I am six games behind you with only four weeks left,
and well it's more like three and a half weeks.

(20:00):
So wish me luck everyone as I as I try
to desperately make up some space on Kyle.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Good luck everybody else.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Yeah, Jared's about that lapped by cousin Jay. Possible, but
but it would be Sun but it will be Sun
Card first. It'll be Sun Card first. All right, that's
a first standings update. It's time to do the actual picks.
As I already mentioned the aforementioned cousin j who is

(20:33):
one of our one of our cousins, and he's in
the discord.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Kyle.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
We we've said it before, right, and we're not doxing anyone.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Here is your cousin. I don't know why I'm maybe
maybe I.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Don't know why I'm being cryptic, but he's also a
you know, a very active contributing member to our discord
server discord dot this, slupcast dot com. By the way,
we we have found out recently that our invite expired. Uh,
that was connected to discord dot the sloopcast dot com.
So if you were trying to join our Discord server
and that link was broken, are bad. But it's fixed now.

(21:09):
So if you tried and it didn't work, try again
Discord dot the sloopcast dot com. I think canonically we
should he should be both of your cousins within the
mythos of the show. I'm fine with that, all right,
all right, let's do it.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, let's go. Who. What's the first name in Northwest
Northwestern hosting those cheaters up north team m hm h.
Northwestern is a nine and a half point underdog in
this matchup at Wrigley Field.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Yeah, because you know, Michigan's not playing in that minor
league ass baseball stadium.

Speaker 2 (21:51):
That Northwestern built. Who do you got, Jared? Am I
picking first? I called your name? You know what? Fair enough?

Speaker 1 (22:03):
I think Northwestern has an outside chance Granted it's an
outside chance, but Northwestern has an outside chance at a
at an upset here. So if you're gonna give me
nine and a half points because I think I think
it stays within a score, I feel very good that
it stays within a score. So I feel very good
taking Northwestern here.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
I agree, I think I think recently, I think recently
Michigan has kind of been playing with fire looking at
some of the wins. They scored twenty one points to Purdue,
like they went twenty one to sixteen. It was a
close one against Sparti, it was they they won handley

(22:53):
against Washington twenty four to seven. But then they also
like they were a dud against USC like their their
offense is not they're not producing right now and being
on the road in Northwestern here or crazier things have happened. Yeah,
I think this could be a dogfight. I think this

(23:14):
could be like a dog fight like what they Michigan
just had two weeks ago. I I'll pick Northwestern to cover.
I think I think Michigan will still win it. They'll
get They'll get out there with an ugly win. But yeah,
nine and a half points a touchdown game is kind
of what I think.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
So, yeah, Spikes. The first the first website I went
to to check on weather information on the game didn't
have any. So I tried to answer your question. I
just want you to know I tried. That's all. I
just I just want a for effort all right, What
does cousin Jay have to say?

Speaker 2 (23:53):
It looks like he has Northwestern go pick Northwestern, won't
every Pickchigan to cover, but would really like that extra
point to ten and a half if we were picking
today that the spread is eleven and a half.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Yeah, the the the actual spread if you were betting
right now. But CBS locked these in on Monday, uh
before that, before that number moved.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
Yeah. Moving on Pittsburgh hosting Notre Dame. I think I
think this is gonna be another It's potentially could be
a good game as well too. Another nooner in Pittsburgh
is a ten and a half point underdog against Notre Dame.

(24:46):
I I have Notre Dame to cover in this one.
I just think Notre Dame has is just they're they're
clicking on all cylinders right now. They're they got a
big win against Navy, they looked, they looked really good
against USC for the most part. They've They've had some

(25:10):
moments here and there, but they they're putting teams away
here and I think I think I think they'll do
the same here against Pittsburgh. I don't think they need
to do any more. What's the phrase, they don't need
to win convincingly anymore. They just needed They just need

(25:31):
to just win.

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Out right, and then they're in the playoffs. I agree
enough around them to give them that cover.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
Notre Dame has a tendency to play good teams closely.
And while I don't think Pitt's a great team, and
I don't think Pitt's gonna win this game, I do
think they're a good team, and I think they'll play
Notre Dame closely. Ten and a half points too much.
Give me Pitt, all right.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Cousin Jay has Notre Dame hitting their stride and last
tough test before the playoffs, and I need them in
the playoffs for a RL parlay I have. It's real life,
not any of the boomers out there, all right. Next up, Duke.

(26:28):
I mentioned mentioned Duke earlier. Duke hosting ranked What are they?
What are they ranked? Here? UH should look ranked nineteenth
ranked Virginia UH Duke again hosting three point thirty kickoff
and five and four. Duke is a six and a

(26:52):
half point favorite over the eight in two Virginia Cavaliers.
I just want to emphasize that before Jared makes his pick.
What were what were you emphasizing five and four. Duke

(27:12):
is a six and a half point favorite over eight
and two nineteenth ranked Virginia.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
So interesting factoid here, it's not a factoid. I don't
know why I use the term factoid. Like, here's the
thing about Virginia. Virginia hasn't been this good in a
very very very long time, as far as only having
you know, one loss up until last week, this late
into the season, being ranked this late in the season,

(27:44):
being in the top fifteen last week, and and then
and then they lost because when I mean, winning every
single week is hard, no matter how good you are.
So you have a team that's not necessarily used to success,
and they just got punched in the mouth. So now

(28:06):
we find out if they were just riding momentum or
if this is actually a good team or not. If
they were just riding momentum, which can happen, then they're
about to crumble. If they're actually a good team, they

(28:27):
win this football game. And quite frankly, I think they
win this football game.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
And the fact that I'm getting almost a full touchdown
to take them, I'll tell.

Speaker 2 (28:40):
You, yeah, I agree, I agree. I have Virginia winning here.
This is our third game that they will be coming
to the triangle. They are one and one. They are
in one right now. They lost, they lost the NC State.
They beat UNC by one point, and then they're and

(29:04):
then they're playing Durham, playing in Durham.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Playing this year then here, winning this, winning against this
year's UNC team by one point makes me second guess
my my decision to pick me.

Speaker 2 (29:16):
I'm not gonna lie to you. Sure, yeah, uh but yeah,
I got I got Virginia to cover as well too.
I think they'll I think they'll bounce back here and yeah,
six and a half points. Yeah, I'll take Virginia. Why not?
Cousin Jay. Cousin j says Virginia bounce back game for

(29:39):
them to help control their own destiny in the ACC
title birth. I think. Don't fact check me on that.
Next up, all right, Next up, USC is hosting IOWA
three thirty kickoff. So about a noon kickoff? A little

(30:01):
bit past noon kickoff? Actually no, I'm sorry, it's a
lot late, a lot lighter in their minds. It doesn't matter.
Six and six and a half, six and a half, Kyle,
I'd never do math. I got around, I got it around.
Usc is a six and a half point favorite against

(30:22):
the Hawkeyes. Uh three thirty eastern Eastern.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Which would make it I've got, which would make it
new on the West Coast.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Noon on the West coast. That's what it was, yes,
which is just fine for everybody. Nobody. I got the
how I got the Hawkeyes to cover. I think this
is going to be a dog fight. I would I
would tend to want to play games close here defense,
but I I think I think all of their losses, Yeah,

(30:54):
all of their losses have been by one score, three
points in Iowa state, five points to Indian, two points
to it Oregon. Why not make that a fourth game
where they lose by less than a touchdown? So Iowa, Yeah,
I got USC.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
I think the only reason Iowa even played Oregon as
closely as it was was because of the weather.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Had that game.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Not been a weather game, Oregon would have destroyed Iowa.
So I well, I don't think USC is as good
as Oregon. I think the sunny California weather is gonna
even the playing field, which is gonna allow USC to
win pretty easily. I would say I feel a lot

(31:43):
worse about it if it were seven and a half,
But six and a half. I feel fine, so give
me USC.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
And cousin Jay has USC. If this was at Iowa,
i'd probably change my pick. But after the toss tough
loss in Oregon traveling out west, I have the Trojans
to cover. I agree, all right. Next up here we
have Alabama hosting Oklahoma three point thirty kickoff, and Alabama

(32:18):
is a six and a half point favorite at home.
Which way are you leaning on this one, Jared, I'm
gonna keep this one short and sweet.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Oklahoma fake good, Alabama actual good.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
I agree, and we'll just keep it simple as that.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
Yeah, I think this would have to be up near
twelve for me to get me to pick Oklahoma.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
And Cousin Jay says, don't think this is closed Bam
Bama big because Oklahoma isn't very good. I am, Oh.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Yeah, I think we're all pretty lockstep on that one.

Speaker 2 (33:00):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Normally this is where I would say, which means we're
all going to be wrong. We're all going to be
wrong yet, But becausin Jas one of the best, Cousin
Jay is one of the best game pickers in the
in the Discord.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Server, so I actually feel pretty good about hi him
and I him and I are tied right now in
the in the suit picks right now. He's having a
bit of an off year, Okay, all right? In last game.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Georgia hasn't he won the past three years? Two?

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Maybe three? I'm sure, I'm sure probably sometime late morning tomorrow, Jared,
we're gonna, we're gonna get it, Spike says annoyingly. Yes,
we're gonna. We're gonna get a message from him in
our discord, just saying, guys, it's three, it's five, that's five. Actually,

(33:56):
all right, Georgia. It is hosting Texas, uh seven point
thirty kickoff in Georgia. I just had a double check. Yep,
this isn't one of those neutral sites or anything like that.
SEC kind of likes doing that. But it is in conference,
so I don't know what I'm talking about. Georgia six

(34:17):
and a half point favorite in this matchup mentioned earlier,
like Texas is is kind of like the hot team
right now. Georgia's kind of been playing with fire recently too,
like play Mississippi State close to start off, and then
Georgia started pulling away close to Florida, close to Auburn,

(34:42):
like they're kind of playing with fire here, and I
think Texas is gonna gonna make them pay. Georgia's gonna
finally play a really tough defense for the first time
since playing Alabama, so I think they're gonna They're gonna
find out the hard way here, and I think Texas
Texas will probably come out of out of Georgia with

(35:07):
a victory.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
I'm not sure Texas wins, but I agree that six
and a half points in Georgia's favors too much. I
could flip a coin as far as who actually wins
this game, I could flip a coin, So six and
a half points, I'm going to take that advantage.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Yeah, all right, and cousin Jay also picks Texas. Would
really like the extra point here, but I think Texas
is getting better and like, oh you, I think Georgia
is not that great, probably highly considered the under as well.
Fair enough, all right, in our last game, We're just

(35:47):
going to go ahead and pick do the pick here.
We will cover the Ohio State hosting UCLA and or
Know Your Enemy on Friday, uh kind of a day
behind this week's podcasts here, but Ohio State hosting u
c l A is a thirty one and a half
point favorite. Who you got in this one? Jared? Too

(36:13):
many points? Give me the Bruins. Agree, yeah, and cousin
Jay says he's got the Buckeyes. Never pick against the buckets.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
Sorry, sorry, sorry, it's just too many points.

Speaker 2 (36:36):
It is a lot. I'll explain why before anybody says anything. Yes,
I know, we all know that Indiana detroyed UCLA and
go here. We'll cover stand that, we'll cover it on Friday.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yes, it's time to wrap this one.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Well, actually, before we wrap it, we have one more segment.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
We got one more uh chaos chaos pick here.

Speaker 1 (37:07):
This is our chaos theory game. This is where we
pick a ranked team to lose to an unranked team. Now,
because of how when we normally record this show, we
still go by the AP. Otherwise it wouldn't give our
guest picker enough time to make a pick, So we
are still using AP rankings and not CFP rankings. And

(37:32):
you can see the score cheat sheet at the bottom
of the graph here. But it's basically just the inverse
of the rank. In other words, if you choose rank,
if you choose choose team like Ohio State, for example,
at number one, and you picked UCLA to win, you
could win twenty five points. Inversely, whoever number twenty five is,
if you choose them to lose, you'd only get one point.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
All right, let's let's start off with Cousin J. Cousin J.

Speaker 1 (38:01):
Kyle shouldn't be well, I guess it's in the show notes,
so it was not a surprise to you anyway.

Speaker 2 (38:04):
Yeah, I've got I've got mine, or I've got mine already,
so I'm not I'm not listen.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
If you pick a cousin J picked, we're gonna make
fun of you for a different reason.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
Yeah, yep, and I'm I did not pick them. Cousin
J says for the brand, Kyle's a wolf pack over
they still not back you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I like
that pick. I like that pick.

Speaker 1 (38:27):
Although the problem is that NC State already used their
super weapon and it's in Miami too. Oh what does
that mean that the rock is Miamy crowd is going.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
To affect the football game? All three of the people
in the stands No that uh, NC State gets their
gets their big wins at home.

Speaker 1 (38:47):
That's all okay, my bad, my bad geez, Jared. I
was just taking the opportunity to make fun of the
fact that Miami gets about a one hundred and twenty
people into their stadium on a weekly basis.

Speaker 2 (39:00):
Sure, all right, I got for fourteen points. Yeah, I
got the Horned Frogs giving the Cougars their second straight loss.
And I'm just fourteen points.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I'm just I'm just gonna open up mine real quick
to see that. Yeah, fourteen points.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
We picked the same, we did, We.

Speaker 1 (39:24):
Did pick the same. I don't think there were a
lot of good options this week. I think this is
far and away the best option. I almost didn't pick
it because I need to gain points on you, and
I was kind of afraid you were gonna pick it.
That was the only reason I even considered picking a
different game is because I was afraid you were gonna
pick this game.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
Oh well, sure. I think the other games that I
had in my mind was maybe Baylor over you Tall.
It could be another good pick too.

Speaker 1 (39:53):
The other one that kind of I think Kyler's pretty
bad this year though, And.

Speaker 2 (39:57):
If you want to, if you want the the most
obvious one, not not that many points. It's what six
points there, yeah? Or seven points? Excuse me? Is Duke
over Virginia.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
Yes, but the lack of points are a big hindrance there. Sure,
I need to make up nineteen points on you in
the next Hey, if.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
You win a if you if you get seven points
every week, that up.

Speaker 1 (40:28):
I know, but that also presumes you don't win any
and you are you win like every other week.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
I've been averaging that. Yes, all right, that's it. That
is our episode.

Speaker 1 (40:41):
Jerry, all right, Umm, yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
That's that's the end of the show. Uh, Kyle, do
you have anything in Kyle's corner? Uh? Do I have
anything Kyle's corner? I'm gonna say, big flip. No, I don't,
big flip, big flip. We do have a big flip.
We do, didn't we Yeah? Legend Legend flips from Tennessee

(41:09):
to the Scarlet and Gray team of Ohio State. Legend
Bay from Texas. Listen as an athlete, probably going to
be kind of like a running back for anybody who's
not familiar with him.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
A.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Very very quick He's he's a very explosive athlete. Be
kind of used like a Curtis Samuel. Yeah. I think yeah,
I think that's probably apt.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
I think that's the plan anyway, not saying he will
be Curtis Samuel.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Saying that that's that's the hope. Yeah, but that's it,
that's all I got, Jared.

Speaker 1 (41:50):
All right, that's it for today's episode. So tonight's ending music,
just like on Monday, will be the Raging Nathan's. So
with all that being said, they encourage everyone to think
for do listen.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
To it for music, and of course a podcast for this.

Speaker 1 (42:02):
Once again, these are the raging Nathans.

Speaker 3 (42:22):
Why need time?

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Like now I can't.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
Well mine, but I'm just not name he's longing as here,
so I'll show you to.

Speaker 1 (43:05):
Your totast please got sss.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
So never is.

Speaker 2 (43:19):
Know actually.

Speaker 3 (44:22):
