Ep#136  Today’s guest is Susan Burrell, an intuitive healer and spiritual guide whose own journey toward finding true empowerment has inspired her to do the same for women in the crossroads of life.  She is the author of "Live An Empowered Life" and the host of the podcast, "Empowering Chats With Susan Burrell - Journey to Freedom, Brilliance and Opulence."

I loved this vulnerable conversation with Susan which centers around the shared subject matter of healing from covert narcissistic abuse.  We talk about how this specific experience of suffering catalyzed us to find the courage to make big changes in our life no matter how difficult they might seem.  And as we went through the different stages of healing to process the effects of what happened , it made us go deep within to find ourselves again.  Susan and I discuss how our spiritual tools and wisdom teachings played such a key part in freeing ourselves from trauma and emotional pain.   We talked about how being exposed to narcissistic abuse served as a sacred invitation to reclaim our worth, re-discover the divinity within, learn to nourish and care for ourselves with genuine self love and ultimately find ways to prioritize living a healthy, joy filled  life.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
