We are here with a tenaciousTrevor McCombie.
Most of you know him.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
Sparring Boxing Podcast here with a special
guest.
He gave that nice little bicepintroduction already.
What's going on, Trevor?
What's going on guys?
So we talked a little bitbefore this.
Why don't you tell the peoplewhere you're at, Because we're
pretty jealous.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
I'm in Phoenix, phoenix, arizona, you know
peoria, uh little like airrigation property.
So yeah, it's cool, man, wehave, we have some chickens and
uh starting to starting togarden and all that stuff, so
pretty cool oh yeah, I got thatorganic shit over there.
Yeah, we need that and yeah, fresh eggs, man, we got got it

(01:09):
all.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
We probably eating cats and dogs over here.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Well, those, yeah, I don't know what we eat nothing
organic out here in new york buthey man, those those fresh eggs
and all that did somethingbecause, uh, you gave a guy
people may know as caleb plant alittle run for his money.
Uh, that kind of catapulted youa bit into stardom for the
people that didn't know who youwere.
What was your diet like forthat fight?

(01:33):
Was it?
Was it a lot of like uh meatsand pro like pure proteins and
stuff like that?
Or was it just the usual?

Speaker 2 (01:41):
yeah, I mean, you know I I normally when I, when I
start my cut and everything, um, you know I I try to buy
organic uh vegetables and fruits.
And you know I eat a lot ofeggs, um ground turkey chicken,
uh, yeah, it's a lot of protein.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
But yeah, man, I mean , what's that?
Do you?
Do you do it all yourself?
Because you said you're on likea farm right now.
Is that?
Do you grow all that stuffyourself like?
Do you raise cattle and allthat crap too?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I don't do any cattle ?
I I would, I would like to inthe future.
But, um, yeah, right now just,we have some chickens and you
know, we just, uh, just keep upwith the eggs.
That's really about it.
And then we just kind of wewant to start a garden here soon
.
Um, just kind of get away fromyou know, going to the
supermarket for some I heardyou'd be running chicken fights

(02:31):
no, hey.
what's crazy, though, is likewe're we're in the city, but
we're not so like I had.
I had about seven chickens, andthen we we ended up going out
for a trip, came back and six ofthem were gone.
I had one left, so I actuallyjust got six more.

(02:55):
One of our neighbors like hadtoo many, so it was like, hey, I
want to get rid of thesechickens.
So we actually brought some in,and they're actually kind of
fighting right now.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
So it's funny you said like ladies ladies, kill,
kill, that's great was it likeduring this big old like egg
crisis, going on with the priceof eggs and everything you have
to like.
Arm up out there, man, stay inguard.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
We always stay armed up but yeah people.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Uh, yeah, people always hit me up and they're
like oh, you got them eggsthat's funny.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
That was crazy time like I never thought we'd be
like hustling eggs.
But that's good on you, man.
That's awesome, you're like aman's man.
We I've just had a sucker goingto the supermarket payinging.
I think it was like 12 bucks hegets a card.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I try to be, I try to be man, but you know I still
hit the supermarket.
You have to.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
You know, with your training obviously you're on the
farm Do you do a lot of likewhat Rocky movie was that?
When he was like up Out in thewilderness, when he was training
Like the cabin in the winter, did you do a lot of that stuff?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
or you strictly stick to the regular boxing routine I
stick to the regular boxingroutine, but I mean all all the
mountains here in the valley, you know, are pretty dope.
So, yeah, we, you know, getsome good hikes, get some some
good runs in, um, even when I'min in camp in vegas.
Uh, you know, red rock, redrock is cool, um.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
But yeah, you're not like.
You're not like carrying logsand stuff.
Right, because with thatmustache, man, it looks like it
looks like you're a log carrier.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Yeah, a lot of people say again, you'd be chopping
wood for exercise and shitpeople tell me that when I come
into spar they're like who'sthis lumberjack guy, like what
is it?

Speaker 3 (04:47):
yeah, have you have you ever told you look a lot.
So we're on long island in newyork and, uh, chris algeri's out
here.
Have you ever been told youlook like him?
Because that's the first thingI noticed about it was like, oh,
this dude looks like a a littlebit more manly and rugged.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Chris algeri man yeah , I get that a lot.
I get that a lot, especiallywhen I'm clean-shaven.
Yeah, I get it quite a bit.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
No disrespect, Chris, if you hear this.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
You're a little more.
Chris is good people.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah, yeah, great guy , great guy.
So now back to boxing.
Enough about you and your manlyattributes.
So now you've had some time off, right since the Caleb Plant
fight.
What's next?
We haven't really heard yourname in the mix.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
We know we hear the Berlangas, but I got a question
before that, right Back on CalebPlant, right, do you think that
fight was stopped a little bittoo early?

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Oh yeah, yeah, it was for sure.
You know, especially, you know,in a world title fight, like I
felt like at least give meanother round.
Um, you know, the bell rang andthe bell, yeah, the bell rang I
didn't get that shit.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
I didn't get that shit at all.
The bell rang, you dropped them.
It was a whole fight.

Speaker 2 (05:53):
It was just like, and I was I was kind of, you know I
was.
You know that that initialknockdown was a real knockdown
and then the reciprocated one.
I caught him on his shoulder, which still, you know, if you
you hit somebody and they godown like it's a knockdown, was
a real knockdown.
And then the reciprocated one.
I caught him on his shoulder, which still, you know, if you
you hit somebody and they godown like it's a knockdown, but
yeah, I mean, I, I felt like Ishould have had two or three
knockdowns, even you know theone where I threw a right hook

(06:16):
to the body and, you know, sendthem flying across the canvas.
But, um, you know it is what itis, you know, we know that's
why, that's why I went out theway I did.
Um, I knew that I wasn't goingto win on points, especially
going in as the B-side.
So, you know, I went in andjust tried to rough up and

(06:37):
really try to get after him.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, I mean, you did your thing.
Your stock rose insanely.
Nobody really expected thatcoming in there except yourself.
Your self-belief was crazy.
You were very honest about thatin the lead-up and, man, you
kind of shocked the world in asense because we thought it was
just a fill-in and boom, hereyou are.
We became fans.
I'm sure you gained way morefans and stardom from that.

(07:01):
Did Caleb say anything to youafter that?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Yeah, I appreciate you guys.
Yeah, he told me it was a greatfight and he know, he uh gave
me my props and I feel likerecently, just online, he hasn't
really given me the props, butit's all good, like I think deep
down, he, he knows, he knowswhere it is yeah, yeah, and he,
he does that online a lot, fromwhat I see.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Like, what, what's your take on?
Now?
We saw berlanga, right, he's,he's in your weight class.
He just fought basically me.
Uh, I'm I may have been able tobeat that guy actually with my
self-belief, um, but then calebwas talking trash.
And now caleb's having kind ofa little fill-in fight, not not
a very well-known dude and inthe mainstream boxing eyes
anyway, where's your?

(07:46):
Where are you at, man?
Why?
Why are they throwing your nameout there in the mix?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
they saw that fight, yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah, I mean, I think people know, people know, they
know what's up you kind of likeyou helped yourself.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
You're in that group now.
You're in that group.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
The high risk, high risk, man, high risk.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
And I got to tell you guys, you know, I really
appreciate you guys saying thatyou know it just took me a while
and I I appreciate you guyssaying that you know it just
took me a while and I thinkevery career is a little
different.
You know, just took me a whileto get to where I am.
And you know, I wish I wouldhave done different things in
the past.
But you know, now we're hereand I finally had a chance to

(08:27):
show what I can do.
And you know, now I'm in themix and you know I'm coming for
everybody.
So, and you know, now I'm inthe mix and, uh, you know I'm,
I'm coming for everybody.
So, um, and you know, I, I feellike I gained a lot of
experience from that fight.
Uh, it just, you know, gave me,gave me the confidence to know,
like you know, I, I belong with, with the best in the world and
, uh, you know for sure, I, Ikeep working and I, you know I,

(08:49):
I want to be a world champion.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, I mean, and Caleb as a pure boxing
standpoint, besides Canelo, youwere his best opponent ever.
You did the best I've ever seenagainst him, obviously aside
from Canelo, but it was crazy.
He's a pretty slick boxer andyou showed how slick you were,
thank you.
Now one more thing on the Calebfight, and obviously I have to

(09:14):
ask this but during that timetime, the lead up, you're
clearly outspoken trump fan, which is it's fine.
We you know we all have ouropinions.
Willie, I can't get williegoing.
He goes off on a tangent.
We're trying to keep it politicfree, but were you I always?

Speaker 1 (09:26):
wondered I love trump .

Speaker 3 (09:28):
It was, uh, it was during the, like the election.
Um, you know that that timingof that fight was during the
buildup to the election andeverything.
Did you receive a lot of hateand stuff, because, with cancel
culture today, did that affectyou at all?
Were you getting emails ormessages?
That's the first thing Ithought was like this guy's
going to get railroaded by thesecrazy folk.

(09:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah, I got quite a bit of hate.
I also got quite a bit of quitea bit of hate.
Um, I also got quite a bit oflove, so you know there's a lot
of I mean, you saw how manypeople voted for trump versus
kamala, so, um, yeah, I mean itwas we were the majority, but,
um, you know, I was, I wasactually just telling my wife
this, or my, actually myfather-in-law, I I was like you
know, I don't really care toomuch about politics anymore Like

(10:15):
I'm glad dude got in and youknow I want him to just make the
country better, man, because Ithink in, in my opinion, the way
the country was headed was wasvery, um, not American-like and
um, that's that's really all manso like I don't even, I don't

(10:35):
even really like to pay too muchattention now.
It's like, all right, I got, youknow, we voted him in and let's
see what he does like, let'ssee if he uh does his thing.
But, um, yeah, it's, it's coolman.
You know, he, uh, he, heactually sent me a Christmas
card.
He sent me a signed picture ofmy fight and said you're a great

(10:58):
fighter and so super, supercool that's awesome, that's
awesome.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Yo, I'm mad now you guys get all the love.
I don't get no love, I only gethate by my kind.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
That's all I get.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Willie, you should have worn your Trump hat man
yeah.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
They hate me over here.
All the black women on my side.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I bet man.
But yeah, the way that I see it, we're all human beings and
like it shouldn't be about likeshouldn't be about race or
anything Like it's just you want, what do you want best for your
life?
What do you want best for your, for your country?
Um, that's why I think it's itis really important to vote,
especially like in your, in yourstate and within your county,

(11:42):
because there's a lot ofdifferent things that will
really affect your life your, you know, your, your um, your,
your taxes, when it comes to,like, going and buying stuff and
um, all that.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
So so yeah, it's like .
And then another reason I Iasked you that because the caleb
fight was with pbc right, thatwas the contracting promotion
and I know during a few yearsprior paulie malinaggi kind of
got nixed from them for speakingsome things on his mind because
of the political climate and Iwas like thinking of that with
you.
I was like damn man, theyreally, and it kind of I'm not

(12:16):
going to get conspiracy, but, like you said, the three
knockdowns that didn't count, the bell ringing quick and
amending it.
I mean one could argue, if youwant to get like a little
conspiracy, there's easy, willie.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
He's going to get going.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
But no.
So I was curious.
I was like, damn this guy, they're going to mess with me.
Did they say anything to youduring the buildup?
Was PPC like yo?
Hey man, chill out, don't wearthat, because you know like.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Honestly, like when I first wore it and then you know
when it kept going.
So I wore the hat the firstpress conference that we ever
did and everybody, like Iactually got a lot of love when
I was there in California, whichwas crazy, Like I don't know my
.
I feel like a lot of theperception of people like in the

(13:01):
world.
They think California andthey're like, oh man, like you
better not, you dare not, youdare not wear a Trump hat around
there.
But I actually got a love, gota lot of love, which was crazy.
But yeah, that's what kind ofsparked it up.
And then, moving further andfurther, I was like I'm not
going to take it over the toplike a Colby Covington, but to

(13:26):
the weigh-in, I wore a littleblack windsuit that said Trump
and that was really about it.
I wasn't, I wasn't reallytrying to make it like about
politics, but yeah I also knew Iwas like man I.
I just want people to know thatlike, go out and vote and you

(13:48):
know our, our country is on theline.
So I didn't want to make it toomuch about politics.
But I wanted to set a statementeven in the first press
conference of like where I stood.
And now you know I'm not goingto blast all this politics stuff
.
I know it gets old and peoplejust don't want to see it.
They want to see boxing, youknow.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
And I'm glad you said that, because in sports I hate
when politics and sports combineLike it's okay, Do whatever you
want on your walkout, Like youjust said.
That's a good thing.
You said that Colby kind ofwent a little bit over the top
with his.
He caught some publicity andran with it.
It was going crazy.
Yeah and I mean.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
I think it made him probably more money.
But you know, and that wasaround that time and this and
that, but yeah, no, I mean, Ithink by now people know where I
stand, so it's like I'm notgonna keep, so I'm not gonna
keep down people's throats yeahthank you so like you said, once
the election is over, we backthe boxing so nobody, though

(14:48):
nobody from pbc, like noleadership or anything like in
the media, said anything to youlike, like, because I another.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
I only ask because, again, the thing that happened
with Paulie Malignaggi and thePBC is, it seems to be big on
that.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
That's up.
That's up to your ownspeculation.
I mean, you can kind of lookand I wasn't necessarily PBC, I
think it was Showtime, so youcan, you can make your own
speculations on that.
You know who who's in charge ofshowtime, but, um, yeah, I mean
none of the none of the pbc.
All all the pbc guys were supercool.

(15:22):
I uh, you know, I get alongwith all those guys and they,
they were very respectful to meand they, they, um, you know,
treated me well, so I have no,no bad things to say about them,
even, you know, like any illwill when it came to politics.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
So yeah, I guess you know you're right, that's.
I guess I was just sayingyou're kind of guilty by
association because showtime, they left showtime and then pbc
and you don't even hear aboutthat anymore.
So that's a good point.
I'm glad you brought that upwith that.
Like I said, they, they caughtmy.
I just I just always see PVCand showtime and again, guilty
by association.
So that that's a valid, validpoint, yeah, so, uh, okay, now

(15:59):
back to boxing.
We got that.
I had to ask about the, theTrump stuff, cause it's always
right there.
But uh, going forward is do youhave anything lined up?
Are you training regularly?
Uh, you're not lifting logs butlogs.
But are you in the gyms inArizona?
Still, do you stay in shape24-7?
What's next?
When do you see your next fightdate?

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, I'm in shape now.
You know we're in negotiationswith Pacheco, so you know we'll
see.
Really yeah, and we'll see whathappens with.
You know, with the purse bid,you know I think that's on April
8th.
You know, with the purse bid,you know I think that's on April
8th, so we'll see what happens,but I know they're very.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
That's a tough, tough fight.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Yeah, they're very interested in the fight.
It's a tough fight for both ofus and, you know, I think he's
more tailor-made for me thanwhat Plant was.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
So he moves way less, so you're right.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
You might kill a prospect of dreams right now
he's like a contender.

Speaker 3 (16:57):
Now Pacheco's a contender now.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
He's probably one of the people that they want up
there.
So if you stop him, man, you'regoing to ruin a lot of people's
money.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
You're going to fuck up a lot of money over there.
Yeah, ruin theirs and make mine, make my pockets yeah, they got
, they got plans for that.
Yeah, they do, and he just noand uh you know, I always, I
always say this man, there's no,no ill will uh towards any of
my opponents like I.
Just, I just want to uh showthe world what I can do and I,

(17:30):
you know, I've been, I've beenboxing since I was seven years
old, so this has been a dream ofmine.
You know, my, my mom painted amural of HBO boxing in my room
when I was little and I had a.
You know, my room was a ringand it was, it's.
It's been just been somethingI've always, always, strived for
and I mean, this is my life.
I put my life on the line.
So, yeah, I love, I love tocompete, I love to box and, um,

(17:54):
you know, we're going to go outthere and uh handle business,
man, you know, with reallywhoever it is, um, you know
that's a win, win for you.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
That's a win, win.
You're still okay now.
You had two fights with calebplant and him, and then you got
berlang.
Basically you got canelo'sleftovers I like to call them
running around fighting nobody'sreally, besides munguia.
Yeah what?

Speaker 2 (18:24):
no, and what do you think?
And it's go ahead.
And it's funny, man, like these, these dudes, they, they get a
fight with canelo.
And it's like you know, I'm asuperstar and it's like you know
, you, you, you won the lottery, you got really lucky and you
made some money and that's cool.
But if you would have nevermade that fight, you wouldn't be
acting the way you are now.

(18:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
The funny shit that you said that right, that shit
went to his head.
That shit went to Belanga'shead.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
He think he's bigger than the world and you know what
?

Speaker 2 (19:01):
I've been from new york, I've met berlanga and like
he's a great guy, but man coolbut it's it's getting harder for
me to like, keep keep giving, like, yeah, like, oh man no I'm
sure he is a cool guy like onthe, you know, off cameras and
stuff like that.
I know his, I know his trainerreally well and him and I are
real cool.
Um, yeah, but you know, we'reboth, both believers, but uh,

(19:24):
yeah, it's, it's, uh, I don'tknow it's, um, it is what it is,
man, you know, I, I, I can't, Ican't say that, I would not do
the same thing, but I don'tthink I would like.
You know, I'm just, I'm very, very grounded and you know, I
know, I know where I came fromand I didn't.
I didn't come from money oranything.

(19:45):
So, like it's, uh, I just Iwant to live a very modest,
conservative life.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I feel like, too, I could tell just by talking to
you.
Yeah, money changes people, butit would just change your farm.
You'd have a bigger farm.
That's about it.
That's about it.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Yeah, maybe some, maybe some more equipment, man I
, I'd have my, I would invite myfamily, I'd be like you guys,
come live with me, like let's,let's, uh let's just have a
happy life.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
You'd have the best john deere out there.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Man, it was crazy some crazy, some crazy content
for you on your Instagram orsomething.
You just build a bunch ofwooden gear for boxing and start
boxing outside and training andshit, you'd be outside.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
You'd be outside.
Yeah, I got to start doing thatman, because I do do some
workouts out in my backyard andstuff, so I got to just start
making some videos, that'd besome great content, yeah, right
there what is?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
uh.
So you said pacheco.
That's crazy.
I'm excited for that.
Now I'm glad you said thatactually there's.
There's a chick that follows usfrom arizona and she actually
mentioned that to me in my.
She's like oh, ask him aboutpacheco and I don't have to you,
you already did.
Do you have any regrets in yourcareer?
You know I, I know you.
Yeah, I want to be I want to be.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
I want to be pretty transparent with people, because
I know, I know people arewaiting and they're like what,
what the hell's going on?
Like, what is this guy doing?
You know, we're uh, I had, Ihad my baby in november.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Um, we congratulate, thank you yeah, and end of
november, right end of november.

Speaker 2 (21:15):
Yeah, so I have, I have three um boy and two girls
and uh, yeah, so you know, likea lot of people don't know, but
I was away from my family forlike seven or eight months um
last year.
So you know that that was kindof rough and yeah, just was that
for for training, or was thatsomething different?
Yeah, I was in training.

(21:36):
I fought in January of lastyear.
Then they were just trying tomake something happen.
My team with Probox, they weretrying to make a few different
fights happen with some PBC guys.

(21:57):
Finally the Caleb plant fight, you know, materialized.
So but, yeah, yeah, I was.
I was really in camp for a longtime and I was like man, I, I
gotta chill my family, I gottachill my newborn for a little
bit and then, um, you know I'llbe back.
So, yeah, we're, we're reallylooking forward to june,
hopefully.
Uh, you know, everything worksout and we get, we get June
locked in and I'll be heading upto camp next week.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
So so I know you you had the.
This is where I was getting alittle scared Cause we haven't,
like you just said, we haven'tseen you the.
You had like the four year, three or four year layoff back
in the day.
Right, we, that's not happening.
Do you regret that at all?
I know you got hurt, but do youregret taking that time off?
Or was it needed?
What was the reasoning for that?

Speaker 2 (22:40):
You know, I just I had to find myself as a man and
really realize what's importantin my life.
And you know, like you said, I,you know I did try to come back
within those two years and thenI had an ACL tear and that was
a huge bummer.
So ACL tear you're looking atanother year off and then you've

(23:07):
got to build back up.
Yeah, you've got to get inshape, man, yeah, man, yeah.
So yeah, it's a, it was abummer man.
But you know, I, I look at, Ilook at every, every negative
thing that happens in your life.
There is a reason for it andyou see the bigger picture.
If you, if you're trying togrow as a human being, you know,
um with really whatever, likewhatever happens in your life,

(23:30):
that's really negative andespecially if it's
self-inflicted.
So yeah, you know, it was agreat thing and I'm happy where
I'm at now.
I'm a firm believer in God andI know that he has a great plan
for me and I'm just ready tolook forward and get some great

(23:55):
fights, man, and get some greatWs and be a world champion.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
And we're ready to see it.
Man, we're big fans now becauseof that Caleb Plant fight, to
be honest, and you shocked theworld.
Even the early argued stoppageor whatever, you still shocked
the world and your stock rose.
Like I said before, I'm goingto ask you one more quick
question and we'll we'll get youout of here, man.
Thank you so much again for forthe time.
Thank you guys, out of out ofwhat I like to call canelo's

(24:22):
leftovers, what, what would thefight be?
The best fight to make youthink between munguia, berlanga,
uh, and charlo well, I'm sorryand caleb and caleb and caleb
the four, I'm sorry, and Caleband Caleb the four, I'm sorry,
caleb, berlanga, charlo, thosefour.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Yeah, we'll have to see what happens with Charlo.
See how he looks.
You know his next fight, because I know he's been out for
a while.
Yeah, man, I think everybody is, you know, creaming over the
fact that you know Berlanga andI are both heavy punchers and I
think that would be a greatfight.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
But style-wise that would be an awesome fight.
I think, yeah, style-wise youand Berlinga would be awesome?

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yeah, no doubt.
So you know, I really wouldlike that fight, but you know I
don't know what direction hewants to go.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
And then obviously we would love to see that man Come
on down to New York.
Yeah, oh, that would be greatthat would be great.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
It would be a great fight, it would be a great
build-up.
I think it would be atremendous fight.
And then, you know, maybe downthe line we get a rematch with
Plant.
You know, I think he's a cooldude and you know, if he wants
to run it again, we can run itagain, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
I don't know if he'll want to run that again man.
To be honest, he's running fromthat one.
I don't think he again.
The risk is too high.
That's one of the issues whenyou do great things in boxing.

Speaker 2 (25:55):
Yeah.
But you know what, if it youknow I go out, I go out, start,
start.
You know a rising prospect orwhoever it is, somebody in the
top 10, I go and start them out.
And then you know, if we canmake some big money, then let's
do it.
I don't think I don't think hewould be opposed to it if the
money was right.
At the end of the day, we're inthe business of making money.

(26:20):
If it makes sense, you're allright with speaking of the money
.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
You're all right with dipping your toes in the salty
pool.
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Oh, we'll see.
I know my manager, hector.
He got approached by TKO.
Actually it wasn't right for meright now.
I think if I was younger, if Iwas barely coming up, I had
seven fights.
Know, I think I would go inthere.
But I think that's the troublethey might run into is like, who

(26:57):
are we, who are we gonna, whoare we gonna sign?
That isn't established.
Um, because, yeah, what they're, what they're offering, money
wise, just isn't really thereyet.
So but yeah, I mean what I uh,what's funny?

Speaker 3 (27:13):
What's funny about the TKO thing is that they're
basically doing like you saidbefore when you were with Probox
.
Probox has been doing that in asense, they kind of just took
like making these names or theseguys that are coming up that
fight great fights, greatmatchups Some of the better
matchups are on there and TKO, Ithink, is trying to just
copycat that with the Saudimoney.
You know what?

Speaker 2 (27:34):
I like where you're thinking, because I was thinking
the same thing.
You know, yeah, yeah, they'redoing the same thing.
But, man, I got to give praiseto Turkey, though, like he's
doing a good thing over there.
You know, he's made a lot ofbig fights that would have never
happened.
100%.
Yeah, they would have neverhappened.
So they were 100.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
Yeah, they would have never happened so you know you,
it's great for the sport.
You gotta, you gotta, thank himfor that.
It just, it just sucks thatit's over there.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Yeah, he's finally starting to come over here, so
it don't feel right yeah yeah,it's funny though too, because
the the may 2nd, right may 2nd,the time square, stuff.
That's going on.
In theory it sounds amazing, but we knew we live in new york,
like we're always in the city.
I knew it's going on.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
In theory it sounds amazing, but we knew we live in
New York.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
We're always in the city.
I knew it was impossible.
Times Square is not like it hadto be some funny business.
Yeah, and now the bottom seemsto be falling out with permits
and stuff.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Oh, so it's not happening.
I heard it was invite only andthat was it.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Yeah, but you're right, it's still happening.
But the build-up, the coolthing about it was that it's
free.
Remember they marketed how freeit was for the fans.
It's free, yeah it's gonna beoutside.
And now, uh, yeah, I I spoke tosome popo friends and they were
like, yeah, it's, you're gonnabe far away, super far away.
Like it'll be on like the.
You'll be basically in thestreets of the city watching
boxing on the TVs and I was like, yeah, cool, I'll just stay

(28:54):
home before I get pocketed.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah, no, it's a, it's a great idea.
Um, you know, I'd like to seehow it plays out and then, yeah,
I mean, I'm rooting for it.

Speaker 3 (29:04):
I'm rooting for it.
I hope I hope I'm wrong.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
Yeah, New Orleans for the Super Bowl.
They was moving crackheads, Yoget out, get out.
Yo, before, because my daughterhad a cheer competition like
the week before, I think, or theweek or two weeks before the
Super Bowl.
They started moving crackheadsout of the area In.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
New York, though, they're going to need a snowplow
man.
It's wild.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Yeah, and not to get political and everything, but
like yeah, you know when?
Uh, when the, the chinesepresident came over to
california, you know gavinnewsom cleaned all that up and
was like yo yeah, get them outor cover them up or whatever.

Speaker 3 (29:44):
Whatever you gotta do .

Speaker 2 (29:46):
Yeah, I remember that you're like you're like why did
, why don't you just fix theproblem?
Like why don't you help these, help these, you know, yeah,
something.

Speaker 1 (29:55):
They just moved out of block, yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
It is crazy.
It's a crazy problem.
Everyone has a family member orsomeone that's addicted to
something, so it's a messed upsituation there, and then you
just see these people and whatthey once were and you're like
man, what the hell is going on?
It's just crazy.

Speaker 2 (30:22):
Especially in New word.
You're like, hey, like what thehell is going on, like it's
just crazy, especially in newyork city.
Man, they're there new york cityis great, it's okay.
Cali, because it's man, even, even, uh, even vegas is getting
bad, bro, it's oh, yeah, yeah,it's bad.
It's bad, the, the uh, yeah, the, the meth, and the, the uh,
the fentanyl man, it's, it's bad, it's bad.
So, all these major cities andI can say the same for Phoenix
it's getting bad.
I feel like I'm a common man soI like to talk about it.

(30:44):
I was a manager at Quick Tripand I worked off 19th Ave and
Dunlap.
People that are around hereknow that area and it's like man
.
That's all I dealt with was youknow?
I mean I had like OD's in thebathroom and like all the time
it's crazy man, it's wild, butanyway yeah, so, yeah.

Speaker 1 (31:07):
So now you just gotta beware that these crackheads,
they got Zell now, so they likethey'll ask when the single
spirit changed.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
They got Zelle.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
Now They'll ask when the single spirit changed Yo,
you got Zelle.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
In the city there's homeless crackheads asking for
Venmos and Zelle.
Really.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
It's crazy.
You got a phone.

Speaker 3 (31:30):
Sometimes I'm like.
I can add it to this prepaidcar.
That's pretty crazy that youhave that I kind of want to
donate.
So they're doing something.
But listen, we took up enoughof your time.
We can talk about crackheadsfor hours.
Thanks again, man, keep doingyou.
We love where you're at.
I hear birds chirping, blueskies oh yeah, I'm enjoying it.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
It seems like you're living life.

Speaker 2 (31:53):
This next week, though, we're hitting over 100,
so you know it's gonna get hot.

Speaker 3 (32:01):
Yeah, see, there's good and bad.
We're over here in New York.
Yesterday or two days ago itwas like 70, and then today you
walk outside and your nipplescould go through your shirt.
It's just like a cutting glass.
But listen man.
On that note, thanks again, man, two big fans, we're looking
forward to seeing you.
All those fights would be great.
We just want to see you back inthere, man again.

(32:22):
Thanks again for the time We'lllet you go.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
