The Sport and Society Squad

The Sport and Society Squad

At The Sport and Society Squad, our mission is to blend pop culture and sports from a fresh, female perspective. We're for the girls, by the girls, breaking down big events and why everyone's freaking out about them. Our goal is to get more people talking about sports, removing barriers, and making it easier for women to engage. We're building a community that replaces the dad, Chad, and Brad narrative, redefining what it means to be a fan. By making sports less intimidating and more inclusive for women, we're empowering a new generation of fans and fostering a vibrant, supportive community.

For our last episode of the season, we kept it short and spicy. We ran through the week’s biggest sports and pop culture headlines, then looked ahead with some bold predictions—think Beyoncé going rock, WNBA viewership overtaking the NBA, AI changing the sports game, and maybe even a Tom Brady–Sydney Sweeney situationship. Thanks for riding with us all season. See you in Season 2!

This episode is a real show-stopper—both on the legal stage and Broadway’s biggest night! The NCAA lawsuit has college athletes saying, “Show me the money!” while the NCAA clings to its amateur rules like an overplayed jukebox musical. Will the courts rewrite the script, or is this case headed for a dramatic intermission?

Meanwhile, the Tony Awards had Broadway belting out big wins, tearful speeches, and enough jazz hands to distrac...

This week on The Sport and Society Squad, the drama is serving full-course chaos—and you know we love a good meal!

First up: White Lotus. The behind-the-scenes beef between costars has us asking—does off-screen mess make for on-screen magic? No clue but grab your popcorn because we’re totally tuned in! Then it’s a quick crossover to the NBA playoffs, where the tension is thicker than LeBron James' stat line. Teams are out here f...

This week on The Sport and Society Squad, we’re asking the real questions—like, did the WNBA Draft even happen? Because if it did, it slid in quieter than a soft-launch situationship. We unpack the player drama, the missing buzz, and why last year felt like the Met Gala while this year gave group project energy. Then we head to the desert for Coachella: when did it stop being a music festival and start serving as Influencer Olympic...
