Alan served his country and then went on to do leadership training in the military as a civilian for a combined 51 years before he recently retired. He met his beautiful wife when he was 69 while overseas and he's been happily married ever since! They we're there with their dog and we had a phenomenal discussion that included some hilariously passionate pleas from Alan as a diehard basketball fan to some other great lessons during this 9th episode of season 1.
