Sticking with the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs aren’t going to contend for anything this year aside from the top overall pick again. With nothing at stake to win for, Calvin thinks it is time to start thinking about when the team should shut down last year’s top pick, Victor Wembanyama. Alas, it is time to get to the NFL where NFLPA report cards are out and the Kansas City Chiefs received failing grades from their players despite win...

Before getting into sports, the guys send their thoughts out to the Panhandle region in Texas where more than 1 million acres have been ravaged by fires.

College football is evolving and evolving quickly, led by the SEC and the Big 10. The two strongest conferences have proposed a 14-team playoff to start in 2024 that would guarantee the two groups a total of 6 spots in the tournament for a national championship. In the NBA, LeBron...

Kansas City knows that chasing down a three-peat won’t be easy, and the first task is piecing together the roster again. Already strapped for cap space, the Chiefs found some by releasing WR Marquez Valdez-Scantling and sent a warning to star DB L’Jarius Sneed that he can get paid or he can be part of the new campaign. In New York, the Jets have told Zach Wilson he can seek a trade, though it might be tough to find a willing partne...

Caleb Williams changed his tune today about the Chicago Bears, saying he would be “excited” to play in the Windy City. Just what prompted the shift from earlier reports that he was avoiding the organization, who knows? Perhaps, it was a growing feeling that Jayden Daniels could be a surprise pick with the first selection. Also coming out of Indianapolis, Denver Broncos GM George Paton talked about the teams’ approach to free agency...

There were a few games of note last night in the NBA, but when the action was over, the Milwaukee Bucks’ win over the Charlotte Hornets stood above the rest. A team that could hardly spell defense for most of the season, Doc Rivers’ squad held Charlotte to 26 points at halftime and under 90 for the game. At the NFL Combine, Stephen Jones is the latest executive to make headlines speaking with the media, and the Dallas media pressed...

When the Chicago Bears acquired the Carolina Panthers’ first-round pick this year in a deal last season, nobody imagined it would turn out to be the first overall selection. Despite the talented quarterback class, and the opportunity to have their choice of the prospects, the team could shock the world by not only not trading the pick but not taking a quarterback with it either. There’s QB drama with the Philadelphia Eagles too, an...

Soccer isn’t a major sport in the United States and often flies under the radar despite possessing a premier women’s team. Last night, the USWNT fell to Mexico in an upset that highlights just how much the rest of the world has caught up and the fork in the road where the program is. With the NFL Combine officially underway, it feels like football season is already here. There is still nearly a week left in the franchise tag window...

For years, many fans and analysts around the NFL questioned why former Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator couldn’t land a head coaching job. Now, after having to resort to the college ranks with UCLA as a coordinator for a gig, it may be time to accept that Eric Bieniemy’s biggest problem is himself. Russell Wilson also faces an uncertain future that may see him out of the AFC West, and he recently talked about his options an...

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers may miss the NBA Playoffs. Instead of making deals at the trade deadline like last year, the team leadership did nothing, and Calvin thinks it’s a sign the LeBron James Era in LA is nearing the end. This week is the NFL Combine and top draft prospects Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are saving their workouts for their pro days.

There was a time when traditions meant something. Storming the court was one of the greatest traditions in college basketball, reserved for when a program toppled the top team in the nation. After Duke’s Kyle Filipowski was injured over the weekend in a storming-the-court incident, Calvin is once again banging the drum for this overplayed celebration to go away. In the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs dropped two more games as the brutal...

Closing out the week, the NFL dominates the final hour, resuming with the salary cap talk from Hour 2 regarding the NFL spending limit increasing $30 million this year over last year. Hour 2 continues with the hardwood and recapping the action from Thursday night. In Washington, the Wizards now have Jordan Poole coming off the bench, but is it a demotion or a strategy? The Dallas Mavericks kept it rolling after the break collecting their 7th consecutive win, doing so over the Phoenix Suns. For Kevin Durant, the biggest headline wasn’t what happened during the game but rather beforehand when he got into an exchan...
