The brothers are back with a celebratory episode after achieving an incredible 7-1 gambling record as a group last week. The podcast kicks off with a triumphant recap of their nearly perfect betting slate, with only one over bet missing the mark in what turned out to be a defensive struggle.

The college football landscape has delivered some genuine surprises, none more shocking than Iowa's offensive transformation. After years of being the quintessential under bet, Iowa has suddenly erupted for 47 and 38 points in consecutive weeks, forcing the hosts to temporarily suspend their famous "anti-Iowa parlay" strategy. Meanwhile, Indiana's complete dismantling of ninth-ranked Illinois (63-10) has raised eyebrows nationwide, though the hosts note how quickly the narrative around Illinois shifted from legitimate contender to overrated pretender after just one loss.

A significant portion of the episode examines the NFL's most surprising storylines, including Russell Wilson's benching by the Giants after just three games. The brothers don't hold back in their assessment of the Giants as "one of the worst-run organizations in football," questioning the logic behind signing Wilson only to bench him for rookie Jackson Dart before the season has even found its rhythm. They also break down Oklahoma's controversial "fake substitution" play against Auburn that should have been flagged according to the rules.

The episode introduces a new "Coach Quotes" segment, using famous coaching soundbites to frame discussions about which teams are already cooked (the New York teams), which winning teams won't make the playoffs (Bengals without Burrow), and which teams need to "man up" (Chiefs and Texans). Their locks of the week include the Chiefs as home underdogs against Baltimore in what they describe as a "loser-leaves-town" matchup between two surprising 1-2 teams.

Whether you're looking for gambling insights, coaching hot seat analysis, or just brotherly banter about the current state of football, this episode delivers with both expertise and entertainment. Don't miss their passionate takes on Indiana's potential rise to national prominence and why Taylor Swift's "magic powers" guarantee the Chiefs won't fall to 1-3.

SPEAKER_03 (00:13):
Hey everybody, today is Thursday, September 25th, and
we are back with another episodeof the Sportsbook Sharps.
Got a special guest again thisweek.
Took last week off.
I was traveling for work, but weare back, and in the studio
today, we have my brother Matt.
Hey, still here living with us.

(00:36):
This is his last week here withhim and his family.
So I thought we'd have a goodbyepod.
Goodbye pod.
Move out date.
Moveout pod.
So yeah, so we got a lot to getto, Matt.
I think we had the greatestgambling week as a group we've
ever had.
I couldn't, I didn't look up thestats, but we what were the

(00:57):
numbers last week?
What did we do?
Seven and one.

SPEAKER_02 (00:59):
So uh the only one that missed was the over that we
had from Uncle Mike.
If I hadn't missed it, and itwasn't even close.
They had three points in thefirst half.
I didn't uh I followed up theprevious week.
I had parlayed the NFL gamesaltogether, and I did it this
week, and it was dead as soon asMike's game kicked off.

SPEAKER_03 (01:16):
That was the early game that was Packers, Browns,
the final score 13 to 10.
Yeah.
And the over was around 40something.
Yeah, they come close.

SPEAKER_02 (01:26):
I went and Mike says he always does the teaser, so I
had it straight up plus ateaser, and even with the
teaser, I didn't even getexcited that I was gonna hit it.
That's how bad it was.

SPEAKER_03 (01:35):
It was it was brutal.
But uh I am 4-0 on the season.
Uh, you aim for the king, youbest not miss, as Omar always
said on the wire.
Uh I'm on top and I look toreclaim my trophy.
It's sitting, we're sitting inthe kitchen here.
That beautiful trophy up on themanual right there amongst all
the fall decor.

(01:56):
It's sitting there radiatingright next to my wife's fantasy
football trophy.
Uh is anybody three and one?
I know.
I'm I'm I believe John is threeand one.
Where's we gotta go to the statshere?

SPEAKER_02 (02:10):
I'm one and three, so I know I'm not in there yet.
But I I've decided I've got myplan for the rest of the year on
how I'm gonna come back and win.

SPEAKER_03 (02:16):
Oh, is that right?
Well, first I'd have to missone.

SPEAKER_02 (02:19):
John is three and one.

SPEAKER_03 (02:20):
Yeah, I thought John, Uncle John's three and
one.

SPEAKER_02 (02:23):
And uh Ethan is also three and one.
Okay.

SPEAKER_03 (02:28):
He was Oh, I like Ethan's lock this week, too.
So alright.
Um, also, the last two weeks, Ihave not bet my anti-Iowa parlay
of the week.
Luckily, uh, because I don'tknow what happened all of a
sudden with Iowa.
They can score points, points, points, points, points.
Uh, they fired their punter intothe sun, and now all of a sudden

(02:49):
they decided not to use him, andthey're just gonna score.
The last two weeks, not that Iknow.
I'll get to that.
Not so fast.
We'll get to that.
But the last two weeks, they'vescored 47 and 38 points.
Uh, usually they call that aseason's worth of points in
Iowa, but they scored that injust two games.
So I am officially calling offthe anti-Iowa parlay until

(03:11):
further notice.
Maybe IU can give me some hopethis week, and I'll be back on
it in the coming weeks.

SPEAKER_02 (03:17):
The under's not going to be in play this week at
all.
No, I didn't think so.
IU might make the over on theirown against this Iowa team.
I don't think Iowa's very good,but I know we'll get into that.

SPEAKER_03 (03:26):
Well, I'll get into that.
Uh, a little recap, Matt, I'llhand this one off to you.
Uh, you can run with this one.
College football, IU 63,Illinois 10.

SPEAKER_02 (03:36):
Absolute beatdown.
Kind of like I thought it wouldbe, to be honest with you.
I thought Illinois was overratedto start the season.
They weren't.
Number nine.
They weren't as good aseverybody said they were.
I didn't understand it.
That quarterback is extremelyoverrated.
Everybody hyped up how great hewas gonna be.
Uh it was never even close.
Like it all started.
He got the block uh pump for atouchdown, and Coach Sig, like,

(03:56):
he held receipts.
Everybody said they didn'tdeserve to be in there last year
because they got beat by NotreDame, played the championship
game, and got beat by OhioState, won the championship.
Those were the two games theylost last year, and everyone's
like, see, told you they weren'tany good, they don't belong.
Uh so Coach Sig is gonna try tohang it on everybody he can.
Uh he had a famous quote lastyear on game day.
It's like he was talking aboutranked teams, they come in, they

(04:19):
just kind of you know beat theirblank, and then everybody
trolled him because he didn'tactually have a win at the end
of the year against the rankedteam.
Because if you remembercorrectly, Nebraska came in
their top 25 team, theyabsolutely mopped the floor with
them, they beat him by 40.
So it's like, oh, they're notany good.
Um, I don't know if you've kepton the internet, but apparently
Owen Wise no good anymore.
So they were ranked.

(04:39):
I noticed that.
I I you beat them by 50.
They're like 23rd now orsomething.
Well, everyone's like, nah, they're not very good.
They shouldn't even be the top25 team.
Right.

SPEAKER_03 (04:46):
They went from being number nine to they shouldn't
even have been ranked.
Why were they ranked?
Yeah.
It's just uh what alwayshappens.

SPEAKER_02 (04:52):
So it's uh, you know, Mendoza's now the leader
for the Heisman.
He's the he's the odds-onfavorite.
I did bet him I have him plus5,500 to start the year.
Disgusting.
Um, yeah.
IU Heisman football season.
It just doesn't even sound like.
And the schedule for theHoosiers doesn't get difficult,
which is great.
Uh they've got a pretty softschedule.
No Ohio State this year?
Uh no Ohio State this year.

(05:13):
Um they do have Penn State andOregon.
And outside of that, they've gotMSU, UCLA, Maryland, Wisconsin,
and Purdue.
And Wisconsin's terrible.
Ew.
UCLA's bad.
MSU's main.

SPEAKER_03 (05:26):
UCLA might be one of the worst college teams ever
assembled.

SPEAKER_02 (05:29):
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, that I mean, well, we'llget to it, but I mean, they're
they're losing playersmid-season because the coach got
fired, so they can transfer.

SPEAKER_03 (05:36):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (05:37):
It's embarrassing.
Yeah.
But overall, an awesome game.
I was very excited.

SPEAKER_03 (05:41):
All right.
Well, that's enough uh pro IUtalk on this podcast ball.
Um Oklahoma 24, Auburn 17.
I only have this on there.
I I I could care less abouteither of these teams, really.
The SEC football in generaldoesn't interest me uh in the
last couple of years.
Um, but I just wanted to bringit up.

(06:02):
Did you see the play that I'mreferring to?
The whole reason I'm bringing itup.
So it's gotten even moreinteresting.
Auburn just uh put an officialresponse out tonight about it,
too.
What had happened?
The game, I believe, was tied at17, and Oklahoma did this play
where they ran a guy off to thesidelines.

(06:23):
He looked like he was joggingoff to the sidelines, and all of
a sudden he stopped and lined upas the widest wide receiver.
And apparently that's bad sport,it's the it's not just bad
sportsmanship, it's deceptive, and it's an actual penalty in
college that you can't fake likeyou're running to the sideline

(06:44):
and then all of a sudden stopand line up and they hike it
real quick and you're wide open.

SPEAKER_02 (06:49):
I don't know how I feel about that.

SPEAKER_03 (06:50):
Well, it's against the rules.
What do you mean how you feelabout it?

SPEAKER_02 (06:52):
I don't know if it should be against the rules.

SPEAKER_03 (06:54):
The announcers during the game called it out.
Everybody but the officials sawit, and in fact, on the radio
call, Bob Stoops, the formercoach of Oklahoma, is actually
on the radio and he came in backto the booth.
He apparently stepped out for aminute and said, Oh, did they
run the fake substitution play?
So it's well known that theypracticed this play, and uh

(07:17):
Stoops knew about it and talkedabout how they came up with it
and stuff, and then Auburn, oh,you got the official response
from Auburn up here.
Uh they're kind of whining alittle bit, the Auburn people,
but they're they're right.
I mean, it shouldn't have been aplay.
It should have been flaggedimmediately.

SPEAKER_02 (07:34):
I feel like it's fair.
It's not fair though, it's inthe rules.
I I I hear you in the rules.
I don't know why it's againstthe rules.
Is is a fake kneel down againstthe rules?
I know a quarterback in the NFLthat did that one time and did a
fake kneel down and then threwit.

SPEAKER_03 (07:46):
It that I think don't they whistle it dead all
of a sudden now in the NFLsometimes if they do the fake,
unless they warn the ref aheadof time.
Yeah, tell the ref ahead oftime, hey, I'm gonna fake meal
it and not kneel it.
I I don't you're not allowed tolike run to the sideline and
then stop and then line up.
That's the rule.
I feel like it's part of atricky.
Cheaters, cheaters, pumpkineaters.

SPEAKER_02 (08:05):
It's okay.

SPEAKER_03 (08:05):
I don't really like Auburn, so uh I don't like
either team, but I just thoughtit was interesting, and it's
gotten even more the responsecame out tonight from Auburn
almost four or five days later.
So yeah, they're still a littleupset about it, huh?
Uh and then a little update foryou uh you had a stave frosty a
couple weeks ago.
You were right on, probably, with this.
He has not been fired yet.

SPEAKER_02 (08:25):
He's not been fired.
I just don't see how they winmany games left.

SPEAKER_03 (08:28):
Like we didn't know.
This is uh Billy Napier, yeah,Florida's head coach.
They just lost 26-7 to Miami,the U.

SPEAKER_02 (08:37):
If if we're being honest, it was closer than I
thought it would be.
Like I thought.

SPEAKER_03 (08:40):
Well, they didn't score much, Miami.

SPEAKER_02 (08:42):
Yeah, I thought they'd beat him way worse than
that, but it's it's not gonna bea good season for Florida.
I randomly had some Florida guyin my mentions talking about the
Boosers the other day.
I'm like, you go away and worryabout your team.
You got nothing.
Really on Twitter?
Yeah, just why did he come atyou?
I don't know.
Just like something about wordpoverty program or something
like that.
I'm like, you should worry aboutthey got Texas, they got a buy

(09:02):
and then they got Texas, they'regonna get absolutely mopped,
even though Manning's not thatgreat.
And then they follow up and wekind of talk about Texas AM,
Mississippi State, Georgia,Kentucky, Ole Miss, Tennessee,
Florida State.

SPEAKER_03 (09:12):
Yeah, they're just we we talked about it.
They just nothing.
All right.
Did you have any other collegecallouts you wanted from last
week?
No, no.

SPEAKER_02 (09:21):
I don't have anything that sticks out.

SPEAKER_03 (09:22):
Then we got to get to one of the biggest stories in
the NFL, then.
Danger Us.
It's spicy.
Is out.
Be careful, folks.
It's spicy.
Russell Wilson, quarterback ofthe Giants for three games, has
been benched for a rookie.

SPEAKER_02 (09:37):
I I don't even know why you go and sign him when
you're going.
Like the team's in rebuilding,right?
I don't get it.
And they went and got thatJackson Dart.
Like, I don't know why you evenbother.
You either you either have tolet Russ play and just be
terrible.
Yes.
Or you just say, hey, we're justgonna go with the rookie from
the get-go.
Like, we don't really want youto be here.
It's the same thing thathappened down in Atlanta.

SPEAKER_03 (09:57):
This is this this is why, with the exception of the
two years where Eli had ahorseshoe shoved up his bum and
they won the Super Bowl twice, the Giants are one of the worst
run organizations in football.
They they are so wildlyinconsistent.
They are very inconsistent.
Them and the Jets, I don't knowhow New York got both of those

(10:18):
teams, but ever since the Jetsgot rid of Rex Ryan, they've
been on a downward spiral andnever do anything right.
And the same with the Giants.
Bay Ball is not a very goodcoach.
I put him up on Stay Frosty lastyear.
I can't believe he's stillthere.
They're 0-3 this year.
He's gonna get fired this year.
Yes.
I don't need I'm not puttingthis isn't Stay Frosty.
He's getting canned.

(10:39):
They're gonna put Jackson Dartin.
This week they play theChargers.

SPEAKER_02 (10:42):
But why does it save him though?
Does that save him if they putJackson Dart in just knowing the
season's over?
Like that lets them wave a redflag and say, hey, we're not
good, we're building towardsnext year.

SPEAKER_03 (10:52):
I have no idea.
Yeah.
I I don't know.
I don't know what I don't getwhy you started Russell for
three games and then pulled theplug.
And I also don't know why youpull it this week when you have
the Chargers.
You're gonna lose the Chargers.
They have an easy game in theweek.
Like, I don't understand this atall.

SPEAKER_02 (11:07):
Yeah, I mean, I guess you put him in in a game,
you're gonna lose anyway.
It's not like Russ is gonna winthat game for you.

SPEAKER_03 (11:11):
Yeah, but he's a rookie.
His first game he gets drilled.
I mean, they're gonna lose like42 to nothing.

SPEAKER_02 (11:17):
They they seem to do that with everybody, though.
All these rookies seem to startand just get drilled out.

SPEAKER_03 (11:21):
That's true.
Uh I don't have much more to sayon that.
He's been bad.
Uh, you know, I was indifferenton him when he was toward the
end of his time in Seattle.
Uh they were always on at 425here, so it was whatever.
He would always be entertainingat least.
His Bronco years were absolutelydreadful.
As you know, Darby's family,Darby and her family, we have

(11:42):
the Broncos on every week inthis house.
He was dreadful in Denver.

SPEAKER_02 (11:46):
He's a weird guy.
I mean, like, you would thoughtSeattle would have been really
upset to lose a SuperBowl-winning quarterback, and it
seemed like when he left, peopledidn't care.
No, so they were very happy.
Yeah, I mean, it just kind oftells you what people thought of
him.

SPEAKER_03 (11:59):
Right, yeah.
Uh just an overall recap of thegames.
Ton of wild innings last week.
I took a screenshot of Sundaynight football.
Seven games were decided in thefinal two and a half minutes of
regulation, and at that pointthere'd only been 14 games.
So that's 50% of the games hadbeen decided.

(12:20):
Nine non-offensive touchdowns, the most in a week, uh, since
week 12 of 2020.
Yeah, we had COVID back then.
Uh, and there were two gamesthat had block kicks returned
for a touchdown.

SPEAKER_02 (12:34):
Not only did the two games have it, they're back to
pack.
Like it was on the TV, and thenliterally, like not even
probably a minute later, theother one was blocked.

SPEAKER_03 (12:41):
Yes.
Yeah.
And that leads us to my all-timebad beat.
The Rams at Philly, Rams fourand a half.
I had that on my card.
I bet it.
Rams kick a field goal down onepoint as time expires.
It's blocked.
One of the Eagles linemen hitthe uh the guy, the holder, uh,

(13:02):
so he can recover it.
And another enormous 350-poundplus lineman scoops up the ball
and proceeds to sprint to theend zone.
The fastest fat guy I've everseen in my life.
I couldn't believe it.
Touchdown Eagles, they win byseven and cover.
And they even said later, it waseither on the Sunday night
football or whatever, that wasthe fastest speed they've ever

(13:23):
clocked in a game for someoneover 350 pounds.
18.59 miles per hour.
That man was trusting.

SPEAKER_02 (13:29):
18.

SPEAKER_03 (13:30):
What?
18.59.
That's a big one.
That big boy was running uhsince they started tracking
speeds in games in 2017.
That's the record.
For somebody over 350 pounds.
His name was Jordan Davis.
Wow.
Yeah.
What's really wild about thattoo is it was the second block
field goal in the fourthquarter.
And I was literally sittingthere, I was like, oh, at least

(13:53):
this one won't get blocked.
Like he may miss it left orright, but or be short or
whatever, but it's not going toget blocked.
They just got the last kickblocked.
Like you never see him block ittwo times in a row.
Sean McVeigh's a good coach.
Like, you think he's talking tohis line.
Like, whatever you do, holdsomebody, whatever.
You cannot get blocked again.
No, they get blocked again.

SPEAKER_02 (14:11):
Yeah, that's a terrible beat.
Um, we were on the opposite sideof that though, with John's.
That was disgusting.
Yeah, because it's becauseJohn's lock was the opposite
side for us.
They had that Western Kentuckygame where where they did beyond
side kick and they recovered andscored it.
So you can't.

SPEAKER_03 (14:26):
Yeah, so it balanced that out.

SPEAKER_02 (14:27):
Yeah, it balanced that.

SPEAKER_03 (14:28):
But the problem is I didn't bet any college because I
was busy on Saturday.
So we went seven and one, but Ididn't bet any of the college
games.
We missed out.
I know.
Uh, any more for the NFL?

SPEAKER_02 (14:40):
Uh nothing from last week, no.

SPEAKER_03 (14:42):
All right, stay frosty.
Uh, let's just do real quickbefore we do them.
There's a running list ofcoaches fired so far.
College, we're up to threealready.
Deshaun Foster in year two atUCLA, Brent Pry, Virginia Tech,
year four, and Mike Gundy.
I'm a man.
I'm 40.

SPEAKER_02 (15:03):
That one shocks me.
22 years.
He was there so long.
You kind of just need to let himfinish out a year and then go.
Like, why why why make thatchange midseason for him?
Second go out.

SPEAKER_03 (15:13):
Second longest tenure in football bowl
subdivision.

SPEAKER_02 (15:18):
My favorite coach.

SPEAKER_03 (15:19):
Kirk.
Iowa's coach Kirk.

SPEAKER_02 (15:22):
Iowa.
Iowa's just known formediocracy.
That is, they just love it andthey keep it.

SPEAKER_03 (15:25):
We've talked about that before.
I don't I don't understand whyhe's still at Iowa.
Any other program he would havebeen fired.
Kind of the same.
I mean, the Mike Gundy thing, like you said, the timing's
weird, but him getting firedisn't surprising.
I think they won three gameslast year.
Yeah, they haven't been good.
They haven't been good for aminute.
Ever since they uh moved uh orteams started moving around and

(15:46):
stuff and the conferencesrealigned, he's really gone
downhill.
He hasn't adjusted to the wholeNIL thing.

SPEAKER_02 (15:52):
Yeah, I'm I'm not shocked, I guess, he got fired
with how he's been playing, butlike, or well, the team's been
playing.
But 22 years, let the guy go outafter that.

SPEAKER_03 (16:00):
I can't believe they wouldn't just let him finish the
season.

SPEAKER_02 (16:02):
So he he's getting into his office packing the
stuff and he's just out afterall the yeah, that's terrible.

SPEAKER_03 (16:07):
And then that's so three in college, but none in
the NFL yet.
So maybe after week four here,if if somebody starts 0-4, maybe
some people make moves, but uhyeah, I don't yeah, I don't, I
mean, there's a lot of NFLcoaches that could be gone.
Yeah, the carousel is alwaysrunning in the NFL.
So I'll go first.
I got a stay frosty.
Do you have a stay frosty?
I do have a stay frosty.

(16:27):
All right, I'll go first andthen I'll let you uh pontificate
here.
I'm putting Raheem Morris,Atlanta Falcons head coach up.
Probably one of the worst gamesI've seen in a long time last
week.
I think it made zero time on thefive TVs in the basement.
They lose to Carolina 30 tonothing.
They were not prepared onoffense, defense, or special

(16:49):
teams.
They just fired their kicker,Young Ho Ku, and blamed him for
their week one loss to theBucks.
This is only the coach's secondyear in Atlanta.
He served as the interim coachin 2020, and they decided to go
another direction after those 11games.
Well, they got it right in 2020.
They should have stuck with whatthey did in 2020.

(17:09):
They never should have hired himback.
He's a very mediocre coach.
I don't know if you remember himin Tampa.
He was there from 09 to 2011before Tom Brady came into town.
And that was kind of thepost-Warren Sapp Tampa Bay team
of the early 2000s, where theywere just not very good at all.
He only had three years there, and he has an overall record of
30 and 48 as a head coach.

(17:31):
Um, it feels like this is atipping point, though.
They can't even get up to play adivision rival, a division rival
who was 0-2, by the way.
Yeah, Carolina, not a good team.
How are they going to compete inthe upcoming games?
This is what they got coming up.
They host the commanders, theyhost the Bills.
No chance.
They're at San Francisco.
They're probably looking at oneand five.

(17:54):
I don't see a lot of wins in thelast 11 games.
Uh, they could maybe win bothNew Orleans games and maybe get
one or two of New England,Miami, and the Jets, and that
might be it.

SPEAKER_02 (18:05):
Yeah, and unfortunately, Penix didn't look
good, so it's not like Penix isreally.
Oh, Pennox is so bad.
Um, yeah, they're they're notlooking great with that move.

SPEAKER_03 (18:13):
Just a waste of his season, too.
As bad as they are.
Yeah.
So yeah.
Five five and twelve, I think,is their best scenario, and a
wasted rookie season.
So, Raheem Morris, you need tostay frosty.

SPEAKER_02 (18:26):
All right, my Stay Frosty.
Uh, we're gonna go to Wisconsin.
I'm gonna put Luke Fickel onStay Frosty.
Um, he's kind of there becauseI'm mad at him on two weeks ago.
Uh, if you guys remember, I haduh Wisconsin plus 21 at Alabama.

SPEAKER_03 (18:41):
Alabama.

SPEAKER_02 (18:41):
They got the ball back down 24 or two minutes ago,
and they just laid on the balland ran the clock out.
He didn't even make an effort totry to get the game to be
closer.
That frustrated me.
They looked awful againstMaryland last week.
Uh so they're two and two in theyear.
Their schedule's brutal.
I to be honest with you, theymight win one, maybe two more
games the rest of the year.
Like Wisconsin might end up fourand eight to end the year.

(19:04):
Yeah, they they their upcomingschedule, so they're a bye this
week, so they can lick theirwounds and recover after
Maryland absolutely dominatedthem.
They've got Michigan.
So they're not Michigan.
That's a loss.
They play Iowa.
They might be able to get thatone.
I don't know if Iowa's thatgreat.

SPEAKER_03 (19:18):
Yeah, but I don't know.
Maybe not.
I don't yeah.
That might be when my undercomes back.
So that's a maybe those two hookup.
That might be a nine to sixgame.
So that's a maybe.

SPEAKER_02 (19:29):
They've got OSU, Oregon, the Huskies, Indiana,
Illinois, Minnesota.
So they would have to beat Iowa,Wisconsin, or uh sorry.
They'd have to be Iowa,Washington, Minnesota.
They'd have to win two of thosethree games to win four games.

SPEAKER_03 (19:45):
No.

SPEAKER_02 (19:46):
I don't I don't see him beating Michigan, Ohio
State, Oregon, Indiana.
Maybe Illinois.
I think they're frauds.
So maybe that, but they'rethey're just not a good team.

SPEAKER_03 (19:54):
So uh Luke Feckel, stay frosty.
There you go.
I like that one.
That's yeah, that's probablytrue.
How many years has he been therenow?
This is his third year.
Third year, that's why.

SPEAKER_02 (20:03):
Um so he coached their bowl game and he won.
The first year he went seven andsix, last year five and seven,
and then this year, I mean, Ithink it's just gonna be
terrible for him.
Yeah, so maybe only three wins, yeah.
That could be bad.
Yeah.
So I just don't see Wisconsinhaving the appetite to kind of
keep him around.
I'm shocked he's not workingout.
He was so good at Cincinnati, and it's just not working there.

(20:24):
But that tends to happen whenyou have the smaller, smaller
conferences.
Not everybody's a coach sig andmoves from the smaller
conference and can just dominatethe big boys.
Well, Cincinnati in the Big 12,a small conference?
Well, when he was there, theywere conference USA, right?
They're the American AtlantaConference.
Oh, the AAC.
Okay.
Yeah, that's true.

(20:44):
They just moved three years ago.
He won enough games that theydecided to move him up a
conference, so yeah, he wasbeaten up on nobody's.

SPEAKER_03 (20:52):
All right.
Well, stay frosty, Luke Fickle.
Uh I had an old man yells atcloud, but I'm running an
audible here.
Yeah.
I'm not doing this one that's onthe paper here.
Okay.
I had a new one today, and itfrustrates me, and I'm going
back to technology.
Okay, we got another technology.
I gotta put my old man hat on.

(21:13):
Okay, so as I complained abouton a couple podcasts ago with
the technology, the Windowsupdate.
Yes.
We're now officially on at mycompany all the 365 Windows
stuff.
Whatever.
I already went into a bunch ofreasons I don't like it.
I'm such an old man, 40 yearsold, oldest man ever with this
stuff.
I have a new one, and Idiscovered it by accident.

(21:36):
Uh, my computer was doing arestart.
I am notorious for not wantingto save to the to the Microsoft
drive because nobody can everfigure out where the Microsoft
drive is.
I don't know where it stores thefiles, it's up in the cloud.
The cloud is very nebulous tome.
I have no idea where thefreaking files are.

(21:57):
So I do the thing.
If I'm working on a shared file,okay, it's in it's in Teams,
it's on the cloud thing,whatever.
But with this new update, Ioften save things I'm working on
locally, and then I'll load itup later because I'm an old man,
I don't like that where it'sstored, and it's just annoying
to me.
The way I use Teams tocommunicate, but then I also

(22:17):
have to click in the sections toget into folders, and then
they're not separate windows.
So then if somebody pings mewhile I'm working in the thing,
like it's a whole thing.
I know you can open it up andexpand it, but I'm talking about
searching through the drive.
So a lot of times, like I said,I save things on my thing.
So I just went to Workday Risinglast week.
Shout out Workday, good company.
Uh, and I was prepping all mynotes earlier in this week, and

(22:41):
I was doing it in a Worddocument, as I often do after
this.
I take a bunch of pictures, Iemail the pictures of myself,
and then I put it all togetherin a giant Word document with
all the things like set theagenda for the next year or
whatever with the workday stuffthat's coming.
So I'm putting the documenttogether, I get the auto update
thing.
I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'llget to that.
Like, I'm working on thedocument, working on the

(23:02):
document.
And then at one point I hadsaved a version of it very early
on my desktop.
Okay.
And I've always had auto saveon.

SPEAKER_00 (23:10):
Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_03 (23:11):
So the thing reboots or whatever, and it comes back
up, and I'm trying to find thefile, it's nowhere to be found.
It didn't save it.
I start clicking, I'm like, wait, and so in the top left
corner, they have the autosavebutton.
I click the autosave button andit says, Oh, we can turn
autosave on as long as you're upin the cloud.
I don't know when that started.

(23:32):
I've been working in thebusiness world since 2007.
I got my first job and I've beensaving Excel with autosave, uh,
PowerPoint, all these documentswith autosave locally on a hard
drive, not in the cloud, becauseI was there before the cloud
existed, and all of a suddenthey've disabled that feature.
If you don't save it up into thecloud, you cannot auto-save it

(23:53):
now.
There's no way around it.
I I researched it, I spent agood 20 minutes Googling it and
researching it because I cannotstand saving them to that share
drive thing in the cloud.
There's no way around it.
They want everything to go tothe cloud, they want the most
cloud storage as possible, sothat that doesn't shock me.
I'm so frustrated.
So I lost.
I had put together from multiplenotes because what you do in the

(24:16):
workday, there's an app in theworkday thing, and you type your
notes up in it, and then you canemail them to yourself.
And I collected all those emailsand put it into one document.
I was almost done, and then thecomputer did the hour and a half
reset on me.
And I thought it would just savebecause I've always had autosave
on.

SPEAKER_01 (24:32):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (24:32):
So now I guess I'm moving to the cloud because I
can't do the cloud saves, butit's just so frustrating.
I have no idea where those cloudfiles are.
I'm so it's just so that's notwhat that is as well.

SPEAKER_02 (24:43):
People will save things out there, and you just
like display.

SPEAKER_03 (24:46):
My old man yells at cloud is about a cloud.
Yeah, well, it's literally acloud.
All right, Matt, what do you gotfor your old man?

SPEAKER_02 (24:52):
Uh I got nothing this week.
Old man yells at cloud, yeah.
Um, I think I'll pass this week.

SPEAKER_03 (24:58):
All right.
All right, we're gonna do alittle new section, new segment
alert.
Boop, boop, boop.
Uh, we're calling this coachquotes.
We're gonna throw some quotesout, Matt, and then I'm gonna
ask you what team kind of fitsus.
So one of my favorite, we'regonna start with one of my
favorites from Jim Mora, theColts head coach at the time.
Playoffs?

(25:18):
What are you talking about?
Playoffs?
Are you kidding me?
Playoffs?
I just hope we can win a game.
So, Matt, my question to youwith that which team that's one
and two or worse is done andwon't make the playoffs?
There's a lot of them.
Oh, there's a lot.
There's a lot.
But which one is cooked?
Like, there's no chance.

SPEAKER_02 (25:38):
I I would say the well, I would say the Giants and
the Jets.
I would say we talked about it.
I think those are definitelycooked.
I had those marked.
There's no shot that theyrecovered.
Okay.
Um, there's some really goodteams that are one and two,
though, but those would be thetwo.
The the New York teams are done.

SPEAKER_03 (25:54):
Okay.
All right.
That's what I thought too.
I had that on my list, and thenI switched by.
I'm going with the Cowboys.

SPEAKER_02 (25:59):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (26:00):
One and two, they're done.
CD's out.
I don't know how long he's out.
He's on my fantasy team.
I had to scramble to find areceiver to replace him this
week.
He's out this week, or verydoubtful.
I didn't realize in theoffseason they hired Matt
Iberflus as their defensivecoordinator.
I don't know how that flew underthe radar.
Um, he's terrible.

SPEAKER_02 (26:19):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (26:20):
Their defense is really bad.

SPEAKER_02 (26:21):
That makes a lot of sense.

SPEAKER_03 (26:22):
Russell Wilson's on the bench now, and they gave up
like 40 points to the Giants acouple weeks ago.
Yeah.
Unbelievable.
And that explains it all.
I saw his dumb face on thesideline on Sunday when they
were like, oh, this is not good.
And I'm like, wait a minute, whyis Matt Eberfloose standing
there in a Cowboys thing?
And then they put like thelittle cryon under him that said
defensive coordinator, and thewhole thing clicked.

(26:43):
Yeah, I don't know.
I don't know how I missed that.
He was terrible as the Bearscoach.

SPEAKER_02 (26:48):
Yeah, he was really bad.

SPEAKER_03 (26:49):
They called him Dweeberfluos.
I mean he was not well liked inChicago.
It's just unbelievable.
Alright.
And then I got another one herefor you.
So we're going Dennis Green.
Uh, I believe this was when hewas the Arizona Cardinals head
coach.
He said they are who we thoughtthey are, and we let them off
the hook.

(27:10):
Uh which team is two and one orbetter, but won't make the
playoffs?
Cincinnati Bengals.
Cincinnati.

SPEAKER_02 (27:17):
They got no shot.
I mean, Joe Burrow's out.
They got no shot to make the Imean, they're two-and-one.
Um and the Ezes have no shot.

SPEAKER_03 (27:24):
All right.
I like, yeah, I totally agreewith you there.
I was gonna pick them, but I dida little math here.
I'm doing a little math on youhere.
Uh, and I agree with that one.
Without Burrow for three months, that's true.
There are 10 teams in the NFCright now that are two and one
or better.

SPEAKER_01 (27:39):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (27:39):
Six in the AFC.
So just by math, I went with anAFC team, and they're playing
right now.
This is Thursday night.
And I don't know why in my PixLeague.
I picked Arizona to cover here, but in my podcast notes, I have
a thing here that says ArizonaCardinals 2-1.
They are not going to make theplayoffs.

(28:01):
Is Marvin Harrison Jr.
one of the biggest busts ever?
He had two straight sub-50-yardgames under 900 yards in last
year, and he didn't get injuredlast year.
He played 17 games as a rookieunder 900 yards receiving.
They are super disappointing, and they're getting absolutely
drilled right now.
What was it, 17 to 3?

SPEAKER_02 (28:22):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Maybe they just kicked the fieldgoal, but yeah, it's it's not.

SPEAKER_03 (28:25):
So they're soon to be 2-2.
Uh just super disappointingteam.
I don't understand.
Call of Duty's not even out yet,and Colin Murray's already
turned out.

SPEAKER_02 (28:35):
I know Marvin Harrison hasn't been great, and
I mean he's been hyped, but theyhave a quarterback problem.
So they did, yeah, they did.
They kicked the field goal.

SPEAKER_03 (28:42):
They just kicked the field goal at 17-6.

SPEAKER_02 (28:44):
So um, yeah, I don't I don't think they're gonna be
very good.
If I look at that conference orthat division, I think they're
the weakest link in there.

SPEAKER_03 (28:51):
Everybody in that division's two and one or
better.

SPEAKER_02 (28:53):
Yeah, that's that's a tough division.

SPEAKER_03 (28:54):
That's a tough division.
Yeah.
That's he they may send threethis year.
I don't know.
All right, we got, of course, wegot to have Herm Edwards.
You play to win the game.
Uh, who's not playing to win thegame right now in the NFL?
Well, I mentioned them earlier,but I I the Giants.
The Giants aren't playing towin.

SPEAKER_02 (29:13):
Uh you don't think by switching quarterbacks
they're trying to win?
No, I think you put a rookiequarterback in there and say,
our season's over, let's getthem experienced and get ready
to go for next year.
All right.
Like, I just think at thatpoint.

SPEAKER_03 (29:23):
See, I think they're trying, at least trying.
If they weren't trying, they'djust keep Trott and Russ out
there, I feel like.

SPEAKER_02 (29:27):
No, I mean, I I feel like they they just gave up on
the season and said we're gonnabuild towards next year.
Let's let's go with the rookiequarterback and see what
happens.
So I I don't I don't thinkthey're trying.
Like I Philly's gonna win thedivision, Washington's gonna be
second, Cowboys will be ahead ofthe Giants because they're
terrible.
So they're four places.
Like they've seen them shot towin that division.

SPEAKER_03 (29:46):
So uh that's all right.
So you're saying they've alreadygiven up.
I'm putting the Dolphins up,they're not trying to win.
They've given up almost 100points on defense, one of the
highest in the NFL.
Tyreek Hill's all but checkedout, bad vibes all around.
That Was such a bad signing bythem.
He does not fit with that teamat all, that vibe, anything.
They're done.
They're looking to be rebootingand getting a new quarterback.

(30:08):
Two is terrible.
Two and on.
Where are you?

SPEAKER_02 (30:13):
Yeah.
And I mean, that's your hot seatguy, right?
You put him up last year.
I did Mike McDaniels two weeksago.
Yeah, yeah.
Mr.
Capri pants himself on the hotseat.
But yeah, they are not playingwell out.
They're terrible.
So they're in a bad, they're ina bad conference, too, though.
Like their division.
Oh, they are.
Yeah, I mean, Jets are bad.
Buffalo's good.
Jets are terrible.
They're another team I'd put onthere, maybe not trying so hard.

(30:34):
Yeah.
And then you got New England, which I don't think Drake May is
very good.

SPEAKER_03 (30:38):
No, that's a terrible division.
The Bills might have that beforeyou carve your Thanksgiving
turkey.
They may be well done.

SPEAKER_02 (30:44):
A lot of those highly hyped rookie quarterbacks
last year just aren't very good.
Penix didn't look good.
I don't think Drake May looksgood.
Caleb Williams looks terrible.
So like, yeah.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (30:54):
Yeah, that was a bad draft class.
All right.
And then the last one for thissegment, Mike Gundy, the
recently fired Mike Gundy.
I'm a man.
I'm 40.
What team needs to man up andplay to its potential?
There's a couple of them.
When you actually look at who'sone and two.

SPEAKER_02 (31:10):
That's bad.
It's bad.
I mean, I'm gonna I'm gonna takethe the easy route here, but I
mean, like, the Chiefs keep itgoing.
I wondered if you'd take that.
That's the easy one, but I mean,there's a bunch.
Like, they they just gotta playbetter.

SPEAKER_03 (31:22):
I mean, we have an all-time game this week between
the Chiefs and the Ravens, thebattle of one and two.

SPEAKER_02 (31:27):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (31:28):
That are surprising one and two.

SPEAKER_02 (31:29):
Yeah, now I will say they they opened up against the
Chargers, and the Chargerslooked really good.
Yeah.
And then they had the Eagles.
But it doesn't get any easierfor them this week.
This is a make or break.
Like, they got Baltimore thisweek.
Yep.
So that's another team that'sone and two.
So like it's loser-leave town onthat one, maybe.

SPEAKER_03 (31:45):
Oh, I love it.
A little loser-leaves townmatch.
I'm going to put up an 0-3 teamhere.
The Texans.
Well, uh, 0-3.
I mean, I I Darby and I did thethe picks, the preseason thing.
I think we both agreed theTexans were going to win that
division.
They're they're three gamesbehind.
The Colts are 3-0.
They're 0-3.

(32:06):
CJ Stroud looks absolutely bad.
The biggest.
He slid a little bit last year.
So his rookie year, they went tothe playoffs.
They slid a little bit lastyear, but I thought he got
injured a little bit.
There were some problems.
There were some receiversinjured.
So I was giving him the benefitof the doubt.
Like third year in the league, you thought he'd go way up.

SPEAKER_02 (32:25):
Yeah, I mean, he has not improved.
Oh, he looks terrible.
He's played really, really bad.
He he has two touchdowns andthree interceptions so far.
In three games.
Yeah, of 76.
Like it's not that's really bad.
It's not good.
I mean, he did have a reallygood rookie year, but yeah, he's
they gotta figure that one out.
I don't know.
Now their division's a littlebit shocking.
The Colts have shockedeverybody.

(32:45):
Now that was my anti-lock theweek, the first week, I think,
of the season, and they blew himout.
Uh yeah.
So they're they're playing well.
Jacksonville's actually two andone.

SPEAKER_03 (32:55):
Yeah, the Jags.

SPEAKER_02 (32:56):
Tennessee's another one.

SPEAKER_03 (32:57):
Tennessee's they're playing for the future.
They're terrible.
Tennessee's awful.
All right, let's get to some ofthe college games.
We're going to look at the weekhere.
We're going to go college, thenNFL, then get into our locks
here, Matt.
College.
We'll run through them here.
Number 21, USC at number 23.
Question mark.
Uh for that 23.

(33:18):
Uh, Illinois.
Illinois six and a half underdogat home.

SPEAKER_02 (33:22):
Can we can we talk about how far they fell in one
week after a beatdown?
They were the number nine teamin the country last week at home
now.
And they're they're almost atouchdown underdog to at home.
To USC.

SPEAKER_03 (33:33):
And they're playing this super early.
This is a noon game.

SPEAKER_02 (33:37):
Yeah, this is a noon.
So it's 11.

SPEAKER_03 (33:39):
The USC coach has already got tears in his eyes
before he's even loaded onto theplane.

SPEAKER_02 (33:43):
I I just saw it on uh at X.
They were recommending maybethey find teams that are over on
the Pacific side.
They could make a Pacificconference.

SPEAKER_03 (33:51):
Uh, yeah, they could get maybe 12 in the conference.
Maybe 12 teams.
Yeah, pack 12.
That sounds a good ring to it.

SPEAKER_02 (33:57):
And then they can all play in their own time zones
over there.
That would be fun.

SPEAKER_03 (34:01):
They can even start games late at like 8 o'clock, 11
Eastern.
It would probably never work,though.
Yeah, it wouldn't.
It doesn't sound like so.

SPEAKER_02 (34:07):
Okay.
But I am going to take USC.
I think Illinois looked so badlast week that I just can't, I
wouldn't feel about it on thecode.

SPEAKER_03 (34:13):
I'm with you here.
I think USC, I think the over aswell.
Like, I yeah.
I I don't think Illinois is verygood.
They're not gonna sniff the top25 the rest of the year after
this loss.

SPEAKER_02 (34:24):
Yeah, I agree.

SPEAKER_03 (34:26):
Um we got some SEC action here.
Number four LSU at number 13,Ole Miss.
And I I mean it's a top 25matchup.
We always talk about top 25.
Ole Miss is a point and a halffavorites, but did you see the
whole Lane Kiffin thing?
All right, Matt, I'll let you uhspeak to this a little bit.
Lane Kiffin, the head coach OleMiss.
Yeah, uh the the picture youshowed.

(34:48):
Very famous on social media.

SPEAKER_02 (34:50):
She's got famous.
She's dating an LSU player.
Go ahead now, go.
But they but they announced itthe week that they're playing
each other.

SPEAKER_03 (34:57):
Lane Kiffin's daughter officially announced
that they're boy that she'sdating somebody that plays on
LSU's team.

SPEAKER_02 (35:04):
Yeah, it's just a wild week to go public with
that.
Um that being said, I I do likeOld Mess, minus one and a half
here.
Oh, really?
I do.
I don't like Old Miss at all.

SPEAKER_03 (35:14):
I never like Old Miss.
I don't I think Lane Kiffin's afraud.

SPEAKER_02 (35:17):
Well, okay, so you think Lane Kiffin's a fraud.
So you think Brian Kelly's not?
Ooh, fraud bowl.
Yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_03 (35:24):
That's a good point.

SPEAKER_02 (35:24):
Like, wait, I forgot.
He doesn't win big games.
So I was actually.

SPEAKER_03 (35:28):
But he beat Notre Dame this year.

SPEAKER_02 (35:29):
So now he's not a fraud.
But is Notre Dame a fraud?
Because they are they are don'tforget, they already hit the
under on the year.

SPEAKER_03 (35:37):
That's a good you're putting me in a pretzel.
Yeah, you got a lot of frauds.
It's Oktoberfest.
I'm in a big pretzel oompa.
Oh no.
That's a good point.
Okay, this is gonna be my stayaway bet of the week.
There you go.
I'm not betting this game at allbecause you're right.
Now I just twisted myself.
I don't know what to do.
Yeah, there, I don't know.
I don't like lane.
I don't like oil LSU.

(35:58):
Yeah, okay.
All right, staying away.
Stay away.
All right.
Stay away game of the week.
Uh number one, Ohio's the OhioState University.
Sorry, I almost didn't say theOhio State.
Uh, at Washington, Washingtonplus eight, both teams are
undefeated.
Is this line?
Is this a rat line?
I don't the plus eight.

(36:19):
Tell me something aboutWashington that I don't know.
You're from there.
Tell me about it.
I'm not touching Washington pluseight.

SPEAKER_02 (36:24):
That place is getting all of Ohio State fans.
I was very flocked there.

SPEAKER_03 (36:29):
So you agree, this is a rat line.

SPEAKER_02 (36:31):
Oh, yeah, there's no way out of it.
This is this should be 12.
It should be way more.
You shouldn't be 60.

SPEAKER_03 (36:37):
Traveling West has something to do with it, I'm
sure.
But I it's 3.30 kickoff, Ithink, or maybe even seven.
Yeah, 7.30 anyway.

SPEAKER_02 (36:45):
Ohio State doesn't absolutely stop them.
Okay.
I would be shocked.
I'm with you.
Uh Ohio State will flood that.
They'll go out, check out thegreatest tailgate experience in
the country.
Um, I already know Ohio Statefans that are talking about
going out to do sailgating.

SPEAKER_03 (36:58):
So there you go.

SPEAKER_02 (36:58):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (36:59):
I that one was a puzzling line.
That's why I wanted to put thatin there.
Also, Washington, a 3-0, butthey must not beat anybody
because they're not in the top25.

SPEAKER_02 (37:07):
Yeah, they they haven't they had their Apple
game uh against Washington Statelast week.
They're not any good either.

SPEAKER_03 (37:12):
So um we could talk about this later uh when we get
to the lock.
IU, Iowa.
Yeah, we can talk about I thinkwe'll talk about that in a
little bit.
But uh I didn't know when I putthat in the notes here, so we'll
skip that for now.
Uh we got number six Oregon atnumber three Penn State.
Now, this is actually the nightgame.
This is the NBC night game.

SPEAKER_02 (37:32):
Is it the night game?
I thought it was the day game, and they're talking about still
doing the the uh the whiteout.
I thought I saw that.
Oh no, it is the night game.
I thought I saw that.

SPEAKER_03 (37:41):
So then the the the OSU game must be 3 30, because
then this one's at 7.30.
It is 330, yes.
Okay, so Oregon number six, PennState number three, three and a
half point favorite Penn State.
What do you like about this one?

SPEAKER_02 (37:54):
I'd take Oregon.
I I think everybody thinks PennState's a fraud every year, so
um I think Oregon's look reallygood.
I would I would take Oregon inthis game.

SPEAKER_03 (38:05):
I like Penn State here.
Like Penn State at home withlike that?
Happy Valley, night game.
I don't know.
I I kind of like them.
I I I don't know.
So we differ on that one.
Alright.
Yeah, I think I three and ahalf's a lot, though.
That means it's gotta be morethan a field goal.

SPEAKER_02 (38:23):
Yeah, I think it's one of those games that comes
down to a field goal at the end.

SPEAKER_03 (38:27):
So you think Oregon covers it, yeah, by that.
Alright.
Um Alabama at number five,Georgia.
Georgia minus three.
Now listen up, I'm gonna gofirst on this one.
Listen.
I hope you're listening at home.
I'm listening.
I warned you about this weeksago.
I knew this would happen.

(38:48):
Bama is not good, but they havea name brand, and they just beat
up on University of LouisianaMonroe and Wisconsin.
So now they're only athree-point dog to Georgia.
This line is a joke.

(39:09):
It's because they only beatTennessee.
This is Georgia only beatTennessee by three in overtime,
but it was at Tennessee.
Come on, this Bama team is sobad.
What's that coming down thetrack?

SPEAKER_02 (39:20):
Uh gotta be the Bulldogs, man.
You can gotta take them.
Minus three.
I think Alabama's really bad.

SPEAKER_03 (39:27):
I almost made this my lock of the week.

SPEAKER_02 (39:29):
That Bama's not gonna have a good year.
You look at their schedule, they're coming off a bye.
I don't know if that matters toyou.
No, not really.
They got Georgia, Vandy,Missouri, Tennessee, LSU,
Oklahoma left on the schedule.
So you got a grueling one.
I don't know how good VandyMizu.
Uh some of those I don't knowhow good they are.

SPEAKER_03 (39:45):
Yeah, but I think Banama's pretty overrated.
Agreed.
Very overrated.
Yeah.
I cannot believe.
So you're telling me thatIllinois loses one game and they
drop to 23, but Alabama issitting there still at 17?

SPEAKER_02 (40:00):
It's at Georgia, too.

SPEAKER_03 (40:01):
It's at Georgia.

SPEAKER_02 (40:02):
I don't I don't understand it.

SPEAKER_03 (40:04):
The three points boggles my mind.
I don't, I, I don't get it.
Yeah.
I will be betting.
Any other college games you wantto add to the card here?

SPEAKER_02 (40:13):
No, I mean we'll we'll get to the other game a
little bit later on.
I mean, there's technically yougot Arizona, Iowa State.
I don't know if anybody cares, but those are both undefeated
teams.
Iowa State's 14.

SPEAKER_03 (40:23):
I didn't care.

SPEAKER_02 (40:24):
Uh minus six and a half for Iowa State.
Uh, but that's the only otherone that's worth mentioning.
Um I don't think yeah, that thatthat would be heavy.

SPEAKER_03 (40:32):
All right.
Uh let's get to the NFL then, and we'll get then we'll get to
the locks and wrap the show uphere.
Lots of heavy favorites.
Only six games with a spreadunder four.
Uh Thursday Night Football, that's one of them.
Uh we don't have to talk aboutit.
It's 17 to 6.
Uh, looks like Seattle's gonnahandle this one.
It's in the fourth quarter now.
So yeah, no need to belabor thatone.

(40:54):
So we'll skip.
That was actually one of theclose spreads.
First international game, 9.30a.m.
Eastern, Minnesota, Pittsburghin Ireland.
First game ever for the NFL inIreland.
College has played there.
First NFL game, Vikings.
Two and a half point favorites.
I'd take them all day.
The Vikings?
Vikings all day.

SPEAKER_02 (41:12):
I I think this goes back to my comment earlier.
If that draft class was superoverhyped, I don't think J.J.
McCarthy's any good.
The Vikings got better when hegot hurt.
Like it's just, I mean, look atwhat they did without him.
Carson Wentz?
Yeah, I mean.

SPEAKER_03 (41:27):
I've seen Carson Wentz, though.
They just shredded Cincinnatifor 48.

SPEAKER_02 (41:31):
Not that Cincinnati's got a good thing.

SPEAKER_03 (41:32):
Cincinnati's not very good on defense, though.
And Steelers aren't good thanthe defense is sure.

SPEAKER_02 (41:36):
They're a really good Atlanta team they put up
six points against when JJMcCarthy was quarterback.

SPEAKER_03 (41:41):
No, that's true.

SPEAKER_02 (41:42):
Him going out, Wentz is a much better quarterback
than him.
They're loaded with weapons.
I'm gonna bet the Vikings.

SPEAKER_03 (41:48):
You think the Vikings cover two and a half?
I think they see I picked theopposite in my picks.
I think they more than cover.
I picked the Steelers.
I think Steelers win the two.
You were the biggest Steelersfan of the game.
I guess I'm yeah, I don't know.
It's my dark horse, but I justI've seen this Carson Wentz
thing before.
He has a beautiful game, andeverybody is on the Carson Wentz

(42:08):
thing, and then he's gonna throwthree picks this weekend in
Ireland.
I don't know.

SPEAKER_02 (42:13):
Yeah, I mean, but they've just got so much talent
in Minnesota.
You just have to be aserviceable court.

SPEAKER_03 (42:17):
He has red hair.
Is he Irish?

SPEAKER_02 (42:19):
Maybe is Wentz Irish?
I don't know.
Maybe he'll have the luck of theIrish on his side.
I don't know.
I mean, they they made SamDarnold look good last year,
right?

SPEAKER_03 (42:26):
So I mean Sam Darnold's up 11 right now, Matt.
What do you mean?
He's on Thursday night.
Yeah, I guess.
All right.
So we differ on that one, butthat might be because I have my
Steelers blinders on big time.
We'll see.
This will be an adjustment forme.
If the Steelers don't coverthis, then I'll need to revisit
my dark horse because they don'tlook very good so far.

(42:48):
They've they've eked out twowins, but they've it's been a
struggle.
Uh two 0-3 bowls.
I just wanted to bring it upbecause they're both 0-3.
Tennessee at Houston minus 7.
Houston minus 7.
That's a lot.
Uh Monday night football.
We get this on Monday night.
Can we flex?
Can we please?
Please flex.
Week four flex out.
Can we flex?
I mean, I hope my wife's notlistening to this right now, but

(43:11):
can we flex both games out onMonday night?
Um Bonex doesn't look that goodeither.

SPEAKER_02 (43:16):
Uh the you couldn't pay me to watch the Jets in my
interest.
Oh, I'm getting a stare downfrom my wife.

SPEAKER_03 (43:22):
Well, and that's mostly because the Bengals,
though.
I the Bengals are gonna havetheir backup quarterback in, and
he didn't look good at all.
So that's gonna be a terriblegame on Monday night.

SPEAKER_02 (43:31):
Yeah, uh we missed the old man Young the cloud, but
I would yell at that.
Just don't give me two Mondaynight games.
I don't like that.

SPEAKER_03 (43:38):
Oh, see, I love the two Monday night.
I don't like that they're on topof each other.
They are so the kickoffs are7.15 and 8.15.
That I don't like.
I don't like it.
I like give me 7, give me 9.30.
9-9-30.
Sundays for football.
No, no, no, no.
I like Monday night football.
Uh but yeah, so we got the Jetsat Miami, both 0-3, minus 2.5

(44:01):
Miami.
Do you even want to bet thesegames or are you just gonna be?
I know, I don't want to beteither.

SPEAKER_02 (44:05):
I don't want to watch those because if I bet it
I had to be forced to watch it,and I want nothing to do with
either of those two games.

SPEAKER_03 (44:10):
All right, then we'll skip to the surprising
bowl game here.
The one and two bowl, Baltimore1-2, Kansas City one and two,
Kansas City plus two and a half.
Uh, they're both one and two onthe year.
Gosh, get two and a half athome.

SPEAKER_02 (44:25):
It's really hard to not want to take that.
Um probably bet Kansas Cityhere.
Yeah.
Just because they're at home.
But I mean, they both gotta havea way.
I mean, the Baltimore's gonna beseen.
Like you said, this is aloser-leaves town match.
One and three?
One and three gets in.

SPEAKER_03 (44:41):
Now, the one thing I will say if Baltimore goes one
and three, I think they canstill make the playoffs.
Because that division'sterrible.
The Browns are terrible.
The Bengals are two and one.
Well, and the Bengals season'sover.
But the Bengals are over, right?
So Pittsburgh.
So Pittsburgh could could winthat division, but like if they
lose to the Vikings, thenthey're sitting there two and
two.
So one and three is only a gamebehind.

SPEAKER_02 (45:03):
Yeah.
It's it's a more win for KansasCity because the Chargers look
really good.
The Chargers look really good.
They look good.
Deborah will figure it out, Ithink.
I know you're anti-Bonics.
I'm not anti-Bonics.
We're talking about all therookies draft class from last
year.

SPEAKER_03 (45:18):
I just said listen, I just said out of the four
starting quarterbacks in theNFL, those are the four you're
giving us on Monday night.
Like, that's not a great game.
Those two games.

SPEAKER_02 (45:27):
Yeah, that's right.

SPEAKER_03 (45:28):
Tua, uh, oh, who's the the Jets now?
It's uh uh uh Fields.
Oh yeah, and then Bo Nicks, andthen that Trevor or uh what's
his name, the backup that wasJoe Burrow's backup.
That's terrible.
I have no idea.
I can't remember his name.

SPEAKER_02 (45:44):
But he gets a lot of playing.

SPEAKER_03 (45:45):
Jake Browning.

SPEAKER_02 (45:46):
Jake Browning.
It's a lot of playing time allthe time.

SPEAKER_03 (45:49):
Yeah.
Alright, so that's what we thinkabout that.
Philly at Tampa.
Tampa Bay both 3-0, bothundefeated, Philly and Tampa.
Tampa Bay home dogs, three and ahalf.
Can't take Philly here, right?
Absolutely not get out of hereby the way.
Philly scumbags, I don't likethe city of Philly, I don't like

(46:10):
Philly at all.
I would never take them.
No.
Good.

SPEAKER_02 (46:13):
But I I think that if you were to put the money
out, that's where I would putthe money.

SPEAKER_03 (46:17):
Wow.

SPEAKER_02 (46:17):
I mean they so just so we're clear on the 3-0 aspect
of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they've beaten the Atlanta
Falcons.
Yeah.
We've discussed.

SPEAKER_03 (46:26):
Division rival.

SPEAKER_02 (46:27):
Uh the 0-3 Houston Texans.
Texans upstart Texans.
And the 0-3 New York Jets.
And they beat the Jets by two, they beat Houston by one, and
they beat Atlanta by three.
So they are 3-0.

SPEAKER_03 (46:42):
Okay, let's play that, reverse that though, and
play on the Philly team then.
They beat a woeful Cowboys team.
Barely, barely, at home whenthey got their championship
rings, barely beat the Cowboys.
They beat a really good KansasCity team.
Okay.
So the Rams.
The Rams were a good team.
Rams are good team.
Yeah, Kansas City's a good team.

(47:03):
They needed a blocked kick twicein the fourth quarter to beat
them, just to be clear on that.

SPEAKER_02 (47:08):
But they got it, but they needed it.

SPEAKER_03 (47:12):
So I don't, I like Tampa here.
I like Tampa money line.
Sprinkle that money line.
We'll get back to that one.
That's somebody's lock.
I didn't realize it was a lockuntil just now.
Uh, all right, and then the lastgame we're going to talk to
before we get to the locks.
Micah Parsons game.
Green Bay at Dallas, Dallas plusseven.
I won't touch the Cowboys.
The Cowboys, that they'reborderline.

(47:32):
Dead to me.
Yeah.
Dead.
After we bet them last weekagainst the Bears.
The Bears are terrible.
The Bears.
And they made the Cowboys looklike a college team.
Yeah.
Just dreadful.
The Cowboys were never in it.

SPEAKER_02 (47:46):
I might actually bet against the Cowboys in that one.

SPEAKER_03 (47:48):
I don't know.
Green Bay didn't look too goodeither.
They struggled with Joe Flacco.

SPEAKER_02 (47:52):
There's nothing better than a get-right game
against the Cowboys.

SPEAKER_03 (47:55):
No, that's fair.

SPEAKER_02 (47:55):
All right.
I mean, look at what the Bearsdid to him.

SPEAKER_03 (47:59):
I don't even want to watch Sunday Night Football.
All it's going to be is MicahParsons, Micah Parsons.
Jerry said they're not going todo a tribute video to him.
Did you see that?
Oh, that's fine.
I wouldn't either.
I don't know why's everybody.

SPEAKER_02 (48:09):
Yeah, why I'll have a cup of coffee.
Like, what are we doing?
Yeah, but he was there for fouryears.
Mike Gunny was there 22 yearsand they showed him the door
mid-season.
I see it Parsons.

SPEAKER_03 (48:17):
Like, yeah, I don't get like the whole people were
in a social media tizzy aboutthat today when it when Jerry
said it.
And I'm like, why would they dothat for a guy that forced his
way out of there, forced totrade?
Like, that is amazing.
It's not like he left at the endof a season as a free agent.
He forced his way out.
Yeah, I don't know.

(48:37):
I mean, part of that's on Jerrytoo, because Jerry doesn't know
how to run a team.
But uh, let's get to the lockshere.
We've got the first lockup I gotfrom old Greg here, Chargers
minus six.
I love that bet.
Who are they playing again?
Remind me.

unknown (48:54):
Oh.

SPEAKER_02 (48:54):
The season is over.
Oh, that's right.
Now it's at New York, so I'msure that crowd will be really
pumped up for their uh teamdart.
Yeah, I mean, it's that seemslike an easy bet.
That's it, Greg.
I'm looking forward to better.

SPEAKER_03 (49:06):
Greg had that one in fast.

SPEAKER_02 (49:07):
Yeah, that's gonna be a good one to bet.

SPEAKER_03 (49:09):
Yep.
And then Ethan gave usCommanders minus two and a half.
The Commanders are playing uhthey're playing the Falcons out
of the Falcons.

SPEAKER_02 (49:17):
The Lions moved.
It's down to minus one now.

SPEAKER_03 (49:20):
Um I still inside baseball on this one.
I have Jaden Daniels on myfantasy team.
Yes.
I also went and picked out uhMarcus Mariota.
I don't understand everythingI'm reading is acting like
Marcus Mariota is probably gonnastart and Jaden Daniels not
gonna play.

(49:40):
ESPN's fantasy, though, I haveMarcus in and they're giving me
zero points and acting likeJaden Daniels is playing.
I'm like, what?
He's going through practice, butthey act like he's gonna be game
time decision and probably notgonna play.
So I don't know if this is likethe coach trying to confuse
people and not have people gameplan or what.
But uh I would rather Marcusmove.

(50:03):
I would rather Marcus play.
If it if Jaden plays, I wouldrather take it.

SPEAKER_02 (50:07):
That line's gonna move.
It'll move to six.
It'll have a really yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (50:11):
Well, I better get it now because I don't want it
at six, and I definitely I don'teven want it if Jaden Daniels
planned.
I don't want it at two and ahalf if Jaden Daniels planned.
That one'll move.
He looks stinky this year.

SPEAKER_02 (50:20):
It's alright.
Well, I mean, as long as hedoesn't go the CJ Stroud route,
I guess.

SPEAKER_03 (50:25):
Yeah.
Uh Uncle Mike's given us, he'sdone with the overs.
Two weeks in a row, he was apart of the Overs Club.
He's given us Oregon plus threeand a half.
We already talked about thatgame.

SPEAKER_02 (50:35):
I didn't realize it was Mike's lock.
I was, yeah.

SPEAKER_03 (50:39):
Yeah, I didn't like it, but uh, he also was the only
one that missed last week, somaybe I'm on to something.
Yeah, maybe.
We'll see.
We'll see.
Probably just best to bet allthe locks, and then the one
person that doesn't get itright, we just, you know, that's
one bet you lose.

SPEAKER_02 (50:52):
Yeah, I wish last week, instead of parlaying them,
I wish it had bet themindividually and actually gone
seven and one.
That would have been nice.
So I might I might try thatapproach this week.

SPEAKER_03 (51:01):
Oh, I always do that.
I never parlay at all.

SPEAKER_02 (51:04):
I was swinging for the fence thinking about it.

SPEAKER_03 (51:06):
Well, if you do that, you gotta put like a
little five dollar parlay on allof them, and then you do like
just ten or twenty ones.

SPEAKER_02 (51:11):
Yeah, yeah, I need to do that.
I've just been parlaying.

SPEAKER_03 (51:15):
So uh Uncle John's giving us Arizona State.
I forgot to look it up.
I have no idea who they'replaying.
Not even not even close.

SPEAKER_02 (51:23):
I I just had it pulled up and I went to look and
see if the light could be.
Uh I don't actually know whothey play this week.
Uh let's see.
Oh, at TCU.
Oh, TCU.
He's got Arizona State.
I don't like that one, John.
I don't like that one.

(51:43):
Who are they playing?
TCU.
Oh.
I don't like that.

SPEAKER_03 (51:48):
And it is at Arizona, but I He's only missed
one all year, Uncle John.

SPEAKER_02 (51:52):
Yeah, and I mean TCU hasn't really played anybody.
They beat up on old BillBelichick, but that doesn't know
what counts.

SPEAKER_03 (51:57):
That does not count.
Why?

SPEAKER_02 (51:59):
This is ridiculous.
They had their bye week thesecond week of the season.

SPEAKER_03 (52:02):
I don't get that.

SPEAKER_02 (52:03):
I uh why?
Some of the teams do that early.
I don't that one I don't love.
I will bet it, but I do not loveit.

SPEAKER_03 (52:11):
I'll bet it.
Yeah, I don't.
Yeah.
I'll bet it.
Alright, I'm gonna get to mylock here.
We already talked about thisgame a little bit, so I don't
have to belabor it.
But I'm going to the one and twobowl in the NFL here.
I'm giving you this is a gift.
This is a gift.
I'm 4-0.
This is my gift to you.

(52:31):
Chiefs plus two and a half.
The Chiefs sprinkle the moneyline.
The Chiefs are not losing thisgame.
Taylor Swift will conjure hermagic powers, whatever it takes.
The Chiefs are not goingone-and-three.
They win this game.
They're underdogs at home.
Correct.
Baltimore's not look great.
Like, they've they've struggledin games.

(52:53):
Derek Henry's fumbling it everyweek.
Fumble Rooski.
I'm the Chiefs.

SPEAKER_01 (53:00):
We talked about that for sure about that.

SPEAKER_03 (53:02):
Home dogs run faster.

SPEAKER_01 (53:04):
That's a great thing.

SPEAKER_03 (53:04):
You don't think Andy Reid has been woofing down
cheeseburgers in front of thewhole team all week, telling
them how they're underdogs andthey need to win and this and
that.
They're gonna do the thing wherethey give him the game ball
because he's gonna rally themall and it's gonna be that
cheeseburger in a box kind ofthing.
No, the Chiefs are winning thisgame.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (53:21):
Moneyline.
I agree.
I think that's a sprinkle moneyline.
Yes.
But I don't even know if youbother with the two and a half.
You just take the money.

SPEAKER_03 (53:28):
Just moneyline this guy.
Yeah.
I'm giving you a two and a half, but I love the money line.
I'm betting the money linemyself.

SPEAKER_02 (53:34):
Yes.
I like that one.

SPEAKER_03 (53:36):
All right, Matt, what do you got first?

SPEAKER_02 (53:37):
My luck.
And uh for the third time thisyear, I'm betting the Hoosiers
is my luck.
Uh, I lost the first.
Are you addicted?
I'm addicted, and they are sounderrated in my mind.
They opened, and then this isthis tells you what I text this
line as soon as it got posted onSunday.
They were IU minus six and ahalf.
Got bad news for you listenersat home.
You're not getting that lineanymore.

(53:58):
You're not supposed to.
It's eight and a half.

SPEAKER_03 (54:00):
Oh, because I had it written down at seven and a
half, so it's not yet.

SPEAKER_02 (54:04):
They're getting bet hard.
Um boy.
They they jumped a bunch lastweek too.
Um, they're they're gonnacontinue to go up.
I I think Iowa is not very good.
I think IU is good.
Um, I would say take IU minusthe I would actually even take
them at minus the eight and ahalf, if I'm being honest, but
uh, I like being in thetouchdown better.
I would take the over as well.

(54:25):
Like I know this is youranti-Iowa.
I think No, no, I said I'm offof that.
I know you're off it, but I theover is at 47 and a half.
I think the IU could hang 47.
I think the Hoosiers are gonnaput up 40 out of them, so that
that could be a 40 to 10 score.
Um, I I don't see how they don'tcover that.

SPEAKER_03 (54:41):
So you think they scored 10 against IU?
I don't know about that.

SPEAKER_02 (54:45):
Maybe, maybe.
I mean, uh yeah, I mean, it itcould be some some late track.

SPEAKER_03 (54:50):
IU wants blood this season.
They they do.

SPEAKER_02 (54:52):
Uh, Coach Siggs got the guys going.
He he wants to come out and havea statement.
People didn't want him in, andhe's just gonna try to blow
everybody out of place.
They they've got this game, theygo on bye week and they go to
Oregon.
So, like, this has got to betheir statement game before they
sit on the sidelines.

SPEAKER_03 (55:05):
Well, and and speaking of the of teams and the
how they move in the rankingsand stuff, so they whoop up on
number nine Illinois.
They don't move up much.
They destroyed, dismantledIllinois.
Probably the most impressive winof the year, if I'm gonna be
honest.
Well, I don't know.
Can you ever be honest about IU?

SPEAKER_02 (55:21):
Well, I mean, to beat a top 10 team by 50 points.

SPEAKER_03 (55:24):
Well, that's true.

SPEAKER_02 (55:25):
Like, when I think that's like one of the largest
losses for a uh top 10 team.
Yeah, that's of all time.
That was pretty bad.
To to lose by 50.
Is that what it was?
50?
Yeah, I mean it's 63 to 10.
Oh, geez.
So, and it wasn't to be honest,IU could have put up 70 or 80 on
them.

SPEAKER_03 (55:42):
63 to 10.

SPEAKER_02 (55:44):
They put in the backup in the fourth quarter.

SPEAKER_03 (55:46):
Oh, I didn't realize that.
We were out and about Saturdaynight, so I didn't I just kept
seeing the score as we walkedaround from we had a deck crawl
Saturday night, and as we walkedfrom house to house, I kept
seeing the score, and I'm like, what?

SPEAKER_02 (55:57):
Yeah, they're it's that bad?
They kept ringing the bell evenwith the backup in.
So all right.

SPEAKER_03 (56:02):
So you're giving IU, you said take them even an eight
and a half.

SPEAKER_02 (56:05):
I would even take him at eight and a half.
So, yeah, I mean, like I said,Mendoa, he, you know, had five
touchdowns.
Jesus.
Yeah.
And and everybody everybody'skind of starting to come around
and get on them now a littlebit.
So I don't love that as much.
All the national media that ateit on us last year can go fly a
kite.
I don't want any of themcheering for us.

(56:25):
Pat McAfee's the only one thatpicked them on game day.
Everybody else can go kickrocks.
Don't pick them this week.
Just stay anti IU and keep CoachSig happy.

SPEAKER_03 (56:32):
There you go.
So all right.
Any other uh thoughts for thepodcast this week?

SPEAKER_02 (56:38):
No, I mean that's go Hoosiers.
I think uh we could be we're offa week and then back to Oregon,
but uh, I'm excited for thatseason.

SPEAKER_03 (56:45):
Yeah, that'll be good.
Uh what's what does Purdue got?

SPEAKER_02 (56:48):
What do they got?
Are you just over on the seasonalready?

SPEAKER_03 (56:51):
Oh, after that Notre Dame game, it's uh I don't know
if you saw basketball practicestarted this week.
Well, so coach Matt Painter wasgiven press conferences this
week, and uh Purdue is thenumber one favorite in college
basketball, so I'm fully.

SPEAKER_02 (57:05):
They are the favorite to win.
Yes.
Uh I saw something, and I wouldhave to.

SPEAKER_03 (57:09):
And the Cubs are also gonna make the playoffs, so
I've officially shifted fromfootball mode to baseball
playoff mode and collegebasketball mode.

SPEAKER_02 (57:18):
I I saw something now.
I would like to know if this istrue.
I'm pretty sure it would thatBraden Smith, they thought if he
hit the NIL, he would get$8million.

SPEAKER_03 (57:29):
That seems excessive.
That's what I I He's a goodplayer, but that seems
excessive.
They're off this week.
That's why I don't know who theyplay.

SPEAKER_02 (57:37):
I I saw that and I'm like, that can't be true.

SPEAKER_03 (57:40):
Eight million seems like a lot.

SPEAKER_02 (57:42):
They act like he's making half out of Purdue.

SPEAKER_03 (57:44):
I don't know.
All I know, I've been prettyhyped over Purdue basketball the
last like four or five years.
Uh maybe, I mean, obviouslylonger, but like super hyped
with Edie and everything thelast four or five years.
This is the most hype I've everbeen.
Like the transfers they'vegotten, the the international
player that they stole from overthere, like I'm just so I can't

(58:08):
even wait.

SPEAKER_02 (58:08):
They're preseason number one.

SPEAKER_03 (58:10):
Yes.

SPEAKER_02 (58:11):
Ah boy, I did not realize.

SPEAKER_03 (58:12):
They are the preseason number one team, and
they're they're the I just keepseeing clips on social media of
the practices and stuff.
They did a thing, and I knowwe're in football season, but I
gotta talk about it.
They went through Navy SEAL'sdrills.
They had a Navy SEAL come andmake them like at five in the
morning, huff giant logs up ahill both ways and do all this

(58:34):
stuff, like team building, allthis stuff.
They they they are totallybought in.

SPEAKER_02 (58:40):
All the players going on over there.

SPEAKER_03 (58:42):
They're climbing the they're doing the mud, uh, you
know, climbing underneath in theobstacle course, they're
climbing giant walls, huffinggiant logs up and down hills.
I I'm so in on this season.
I cannot wait for collegebasketball to start.
And my football teams areterrible, so uh Notre Dame beat
the tar out of Purdue.
Uh so I don't even want to talkabout that.

SPEAKER_02 (59:02):
I think everybody there is probably.

SPEAKER_03 (59:03):
And the Cowboys just look abysmal.

SPEAKER_02 (59:05):
So, like Well, and then it is basketball time to
start a little bit because we'restarting to get weight loss,
Jeremy's probably NBA players.
So I don't know if you saw Zion,but he's he's as skinny as he's
been, and uh he said it's thebest he's felt since he was at
Duke.

SPEAKER_03 (59:18):
I I did see that, but we're almost a month away,
so Purdue's first regular seasongame is on November 4th.
Yeah.
So we're like next week, it'llbe a month away.
So I'm so excited.
