A six-and-two heater while we were off set the tone: momentum, superstition, and a leaderboard that might be decided by a San Francisco win total. We open with the contest math and then barrel into college basketball’s early reality checks—Kentucky wobbling, Purdue covering, and Tom Izzo’s group looking like a problem. Louisville over IU, Michigan State’s home edge, Illinois catching points at Tennessee, and an Arizona team crushing numbers all land on the betting radar, with clear reasons rooted in tempo, defense, and coaching adjustments.

Then the temperature drops. Stay Frosty targets Penn State AD Pat Kraft for a mid-season firing without a fast, airtight hiring plan ahead of signing day. The fallout—recruits bolting, rival momentum, and a torpedoed class—turns into a larger lesson about how athletic departments should handle timelines, staff continuity, and recruiting bridges. The carousel keeps spinning: Lane Kiffin to LSU, with a frank take on playoff math and big-program patience in a world of limited at-large bids.

We rewind the biggest results and the biggest myths. Ohio State methodically solved its Michigan problem. Texas A&M and Texas catch a reality check on soft résumés. The NFL swings from Cowboys whiplash to an AFC North mudfight to Kansas City’s identity crisis—fatigue, complacency, or just roster entropy around Mahomes. The prescription is familiar: keep the elite core, refresh the edges, and find hungry pieces who change the team’s urgency.

CFP chaos looms if a few underdogs bite, and we map the spicy routes versus the boring chalk. On the betting sheet, we focus on actionable edges: Michigan State’s home advantage, Arizona’s depth against the number, underdog value where the pass rush travels, and a conviction play that jumps off the screen—Bears +6.5 at Green Bay. When a spread feels wrong against form and matchup, we don’t overthink it.

If this mix of sharp angles, unvarnished rants, and clear picks hits your brain just right, subscribe, share with a friend, and drop a review. Tell us your lock and the line you think the market got wrong.

Andy (00:03):
Hey everybody, today is Friday, December 5th, and we are
back from our littleThanksgiving break, the
Sportsbook Sharps.
We are back and ready to roll.
Let's go.
We had a heck of a week.
Of course, the week I take off,I don't do the podcast, I don't
really gamble much.

(00:24):
Um, at least for as far as ourlocks are concerned, I don't
make the little uh AI lockthings to put out on social
media.
Like nobody, except the eightof us know what our locks are
this week, and of course, we gosix and two.
So I will make sure to continueto share this information.

(00:45):
I should have just grabbed thequickly the spreadsheet and put
it out there for everybody.
But of course, the week I don'tpost anything, don't share
anything.
We go six and two.
Every other week I postanything, we go two and six or
three and five.
Finally, a good week.
Maybe I'm the bad luck.
Maybe me betting all thesethings and talking about them or

(01:06):
whatever is the bad luck.
I don't know, but unbelievablesix and two.
Uh, Uncle John and I both win.
So we are still tied for thelead at nine and four.
Three games ahead of Uncle Mikeand Matt with only five weeks
left to go.
I really, really need the 49ersto win two more games, so I

(01:27):
have at least the tiebreaker.
That's my season-longtiebreaker, San Francisco over
10.5, because Uncle John'salready hit his tiebreaker.
But I don't know, unless one ofus miss, or both of us miss, I
don't think I can win atiebreaker because the second
tiebreaker, so if I do get theSan Francisco one, the second
one is the last miss, which uhlast loss that you had.

(01:50):
So then last loss I had wasfour weeks ago.
Uncle John's was only threeweeks ago.
So he would technically havethat tiebreaker with me.
So I don't know.
We're also December 5th on theday between birthdays here.
So let me give a shout out toUncle Mike.

(02:12):
It was his birthday yesterday, and Uncle John's birthday
tomorrow.
So happy belated birthday,Uncle Mike, and happy early
birthday wish, Uncle John.
Um little bit of a collegebasketball update for you.
I don't know if UK is gonnastay ranked this season.
They are picked up their thirdloss.

(02:34):
Now it was to UNC, but we arebarely started in uh some of the
uh conferences have startedconference play.
Big Ten started some this week.
They'll then take the next liketwo weeks off.
But some of the conferenceplays already started, and UK is
already up uh to three losseson the season.

(02:56):
So uh for somebody that waslike a top 10, top five, even I
think that is not a great start.
Uh, Purdue still 8-0.
They defeat Rutgers.
Uh, not a great Rutgers teamthis year, but they took care of
business with them.
They covered the spread, stillnumber one, still undefeated.
They've struggled recently.

(03:17):
That's all the Big Ten networkwanted to talk about that before
the game and during the firstlike five minutes of the game.
Oh, the last two times Purdueplayed them and they were number
one.
Rutgers upset them.
Oh, here's the Ron Harper shot.
Oh, here's this, here's that.
I'm like, okay, I get it.
I get it.
Twice.
They've only upset the numberone team twice, and it was both
times was Purdue in the lastfive years.

(03:38):
Yeah, I okay, I get it.
Like, we don't need to replayit over and over and over again.
I remember it well.
Thank you.
Um, but took care of them.
13 and a half point spread,covered it.
Uh, all good there.
Um, Michigan State.
I'm worried.
I'm a little worried uh aboutthem being a problem.
As a Purdue fan, a littleworried.

(03:59):
They look like an absolutewagon.
They took care of a pretty goodIowa team.
Uh beat them by 19.
Now it was at home.
Uh, so and then Rocky Top.
SEC a little struggling withthis ACC SEC challenge.
They're kind of getting run outof the building in this ACC SEC
challenge.

(04:19):
Uh, Duke beat Florida, Syracusebeat Tennessee, UNC beat UK,
UConn beat Kansas.
Oh, well, they that's art.
That's not it.
Sorry, I was on the wrong pagethere.
Uh, but I they are losing theylost that that challenge big
time.
So um, not looking too good.
Indiana University picks uptheir first loss up at the barn.

(04:43):
Minnesota gets the win to go tofive and four, and Indiana.
I think they were eight and ahalf point favorites or
something.
I don't what was the let melook at this real quick.
Eight and a half pointfavorites on the nose there.
Eight and a half pointfavorites go on to lose by nine
up at the barn.
Ouch.
Uh Indiana's first loss of theyear.

(05:05):
They it was just it was nice.
I like to hate watch Indianabasketball or at least hate
score watch.
I don't always watch all theirgames, but I sometimes will
watch the score, the gametracker, or whatever, on my
phone.
And it's always nice whenIndiana's in the top 25 because
usually my filter on my phone isset to top 25.
So they just got in to the top25 finally, and then they get

(05:27):
their first loss.
So I'm sure they're gonnabounce out of the top 25.
Um, they got a big game thisSaturday.
They're playing at a neutralcourt, a Louisville.
Uh Louisville five and a halfpoint favorites.
I think you need a hammerLouisville there.
I love Louisville to cover.
Uh it's in indie, neutralcourt.

(05:48):
I'm using air quotes here, youcan't see it.
Uh, but yeah, uh, it's inindie, so I don't know how
neutral that is.
Uh, not exactly a neutrallocation.
There'll be a lot of IU fansthere, but I think they pick up
another L there.
Um, but yeah, that's really it.
Uh, not a lot to get into.
Like I said, the conferenceplay for some is just starting.

(06:10):
Uh, there's not much going onuh this weekend.
Uh a couple of big games.
Uh Purdue's in a big gameagain.
Iowa State, number 10, andPurdue.
We'll we'll kind of do a caphere.
We've got some big games thisweekend, and I'll give you my
thoughts on it.
Um, Purdue struggled this yearto cover the spread, but it I

(06:31):
like them to cover the five anda half here against Iowa State.
Umber four, Duke.
I don't know.
I think this is a neutral courtgame.
It says it's at oh, it is anEast Lansing.
Oh my Duke is going on the roadat Michigan State.
Wow.
I'm surprised they traveled andthat wasn't a neutral sight

(06:51):
game.
Um point underdog, MichiganState at home.
I like I just said I I'vewatched them Michigan State this
year.
They they look ready.
Last year, if you remember,Izzo, I think they started off
with two losses in a row,non-conference losses, against

(07:11):
not great teams.
Um, maybe that was two yearsago.
I think that was last year, andI was starting to question.
I think I even maybe put him upon Stay Frosty that it was
almost time for Izzo to go.
Uh, he looks like he's totallyturned it around this year.
They look very sharp.
They're in the top ten, they'renumber seven.
It's at home.
They don't lose often at home,Michigan State, in the Tom Izzo

(07:33):
era.
I like Michigan State there.
Uh, take Michigan State, justtake the money line.
You don't need to take messaround with the plus one.
Like I said, I already likeLouisville minus five and a
half.
Um, and then we got a big onehere, Illinois number 14 at
Tennessee.
Now, Tennessee's just lost acouple here.
Um, look, I gotta root againstTennessee any chance I get.

(07:57):
I can't stand the Volunteers, Ican't stand their fan base.
Go the dogs for the podcast.
They want to let you know thatthey're sitting here with me
tonight recording.
Uh, I'm gonna take Illinoisthere plus two and a half just
out of spite for Tennessee.
Um, and then Auburn, number 20,at number two, Arizona.

(08:18):
Arizona seven and a half pointfavorite.
Arizona's look good this year.
I'd love to see what they'recovering on their spreads
because I feel like every timeI've seen a score, it is so
lopsided.
Now I don't know what thespread, but yeah, here we won by
uh 27, 1x30, 1x40, 1x30.

(08:42):
I mean, they're just beating upon the bad teams.
Now, these are some of thescores I was reading were from
Utah Tech and Denver, which Ididn't even know Denver was a
university, uh, Norfolk State, like some of these schools, not
the best schools, but they'rehandling it, you know, and
that's what you when you get toplay those schools, a lot of
times it's 30 or so pointsspreads, and they're taking care

(09:05):
of business.
They've look great.
I like Arizona there a lot, uh,minus seven and a half.
And then Sunday, not much goingon on Sunday, no matchups, uh,
ranked matchups there.
So, anyway, we got a lot oftime to talk about college
basketball.
College football season haswound down, and uh we are just a

(09:26):
few weeks away from everythingin college being done.
We're actually 75% done withthe regular season for the NFL.
I know it's very sad.
Uh, all the football iswrapping up for the year, so
we'll start to flip this podcastover into college basketball
mode then.
We'll get a little morein-depth, a little more detail
on some of these things, but uhthat's gonna do it for college

(09:50):
basketball recap and looking atsome of the games that I like
for you this weekend.
I'm gonna get into my StayFrosty here.
We gotta put every weeksomebody's gotta be up on the
hot seat.
And uh, I don't really like ahead coach for one this week,
but this is the frostiest offrosties right now.

(10:12):
I think it's definitely PennState Athletic Director Pat
Kraft.
I don't understand how he stillhas a job.
He fired James Franklin almosttwo months ago.
It was like October 12th or10th or something like that.
We're almost two months outfrom firing their head coach

(10:33):
after the head coach had athree-game losing streak, which
at the time look, it's somethinghad to change.
Uh Franklin wasn't winning thebig games.
Um three in a row to some badteams, some teams that would
have fired their coach, it wasstarting to look a little
embarrassing at Penn State.
So I I didn't disagree with themove.

(10:54):
However, if you're going tomake that move, you have to have
like a list or at least uh topthree candidates that you're
gonna pursue heavily and quicklyto replace that person in the
middle of the year.
You've got to have this linedup because signing day was three
days ago, national signing day, three days ago, December 2nd.

(11:15):
You have to have somebodyinstalled before December 2nd,
and here we sit, December 5th,they still have no coach, no
head coach, and everyone isturning them down.
Other schools that have alreadyfired their coach and already
hired a coach, here's a runninglist of them.
LSU, Ole Miss, UCLA.

(11:36):
Well, some of them haven'tfired, some of the coaches left.
Like Ole Miss, LSU took theircoach, so then, but they've
already named a successor.
Uh, because it, like I said, itis national signing week.
You have to have a head coachand some staff in place to lock
these kids in uh because it'snot a long window here.
So I'm sorry.
LSU, Ole Miss, UCLA, Auburn,Florida, Arkansas, Oregon State,

(12:01):
UAB, University of Kentucky,Stanford, Oklahoma State,
Colorado State, and VirginiaTech have all replaced their
coaches this year already, thisfootball season.
And that last one, VirginiaTech, that's an especially bad
look for Penn State because theyhired, if you remember a few

(12:23):
weeks ago I talked about this, they hired the fired Penn State
coach, James Franklin, and hehas taken dozens and dozens of
Penn State recruits away fromPenn State to Virginia Tech.
Penn State right now is sittingdead last in the Big Ten in
recruiting recruitingcommitments.

(12:44):
They only have six new playerscommitted for next year.
Six.
And overall, they are ranked136th in recruiting.
Yes, you heard that correctly.
One of the biggest names infootball, Penn State, is 136th
in recruiting behind an FCSschool.
There's an FCS school that'slisted in front of them.

(13:07):
And that's just the new peoplecoming in.
There is a slew of currentplayers that are there right now
that have already announced inthe last two months since they
fired Franklin that they'regoing to open up and go into the
transfer portal, that they'regoing to transfer out, or they
intend to enter the transferportal.
Now, some of them may end upstaying.
If they get a head coach andthe head coach sits them down

(13:28):
and talks to them, they may notmove around, but they're going
to enter the transfer portalonce that transfer portal is
over.
And if they don't, if PennState doesn't have a coach by
then, it's it's big time over.
Uh Penn State might end upgoing door to door at France
this summer, trying to recruitsome bros to play.
I just uh and and the do allthat, you know.

(13:51):
I mentioned how Franklin tooksome of those recruits, the
Nazis taking players.
The dogs want their voicesheard on this, too, on this stay
for Rusty.
Uh Franklin also landed, andhe's only been there about a
month or less, a top 25recruiting class at Virginia
Tech.
Unreal how badly the uhathletic director Pat Kraft has

(14:18):
fumbled this.
It's literally his only job todo right now, and he can't do
that.
I honestly think if he wasn't awealthy cookie heir, he would
be out on the street.
His job, though, like hisparents' business, are about to
crumble.
Stay frosty, Pat Kraft.
And like I mentioned, uh thecollege football season has come

(14:43):
to a close, the regular season.
We got the conferencetournament, this conference
championship games this weekend, and then the college football
playoff in a few weeks.
Um, there have been a few morefirings.
Tim Beck at Coastal Carolina,Justin Wilcox at Cal.
Uh, neither too surprising.
Cal's played in the ACC now uhfor a couple seasons.
Uh they'll probably need toreconfigure their whole program,

(15:06):
this whole live being inCalifornia but playing everybody
on the East Coast.
Uh and then uh CoastalCarolina's had some really
lopsided losses this year, sonot too surprising.
They went to a bowl game a yearor two ago, uh, and it looked
like they were kind of thatprogram, the the group of five
program that was kind of on theswing up, uh, but is just not

(15:29):
materialized this year.
Uh, so he's been let go.
So yeah, we got uh no more uhNFL coaches, just the two so
far.
So all right, let's get into alittle recap here.
It's been we've been off aweek.
Uh college football, we'vetalked about this on the last
podcast we did, but Lane watch,we were doing a little Lane
Kiffin watch in Oxford there.

(15:50):
Lane has left.
Ole Miss Coach has left Oxfordto become the next coach to be
fired at LSU in four years.
That's right.
Uh those coaches, uh, I don'tknow if they'll make it there or
not, but the uh expectation isplayoffs and a national title in
four years, or we're gettingout of getting you out of here.

(16:12):
Um I think that'll be the firsttime that Lane has ever taken a
team to the playoffs.
Do you see if the coach isn'tthere when the playoffs are
selected, did he take them tothe playoffs?
That's like a it's like aSchrdinger's coach.
He's both the coach and not thecoach.

(16:33):
Um, what's in the box?
Is uh is Lane Kiffin the coachin the box, or is there is there
no no coach in the box?
I don't know.
I don't know how that works.
Um I mean he won all the gamesto get him there, so I guess you
give him credit for it, but ifhe does he's not even gonna be
on campus or anywhere nearcampus this Sunday when they

(16:54):
announce it, he's already hitthe recruiting trail for LSU and
and trying to get recruitsthere and stuff, so I don't
know.
Uh he's never really made up agood bowl game.
Uh yeah, I don't know.
I I'm not saying he's a badhire.
I just think these majorprograms, all of them, this is
not a lane problem, this is amajor program problem.
There's only 12 playoff spots, and four of those are guaranteed

(17:20):
to the conference winner.
One is the group of five.
Apparently, one we got a cramNotre Dame in every year.
So that's six of the 12 thatare taken every year.
So you are fighting, unless youwin your conference, which,
like I said, the LSU has thatexpectation.
They expect to win or be in theconference championship game
almost every year, which I thinkthat might be a little high

(17:44):
expectations for Louisiana.
But uh I I think if anyway, umthese programs need to wake up,
they need to give coaches morethan three years to make some
progress.
You're with only six open spotsto vie for, plus your one from
your conference, you're you'renot unless you play in the SEC,

(18:05):
which gets all the rankings andaccolades and things like that,
and you get, you know, they tryto cram four or five SEC schools
in every single year in thisthing, and it looks like they'll
continue to do that.
Um, if you're playing outsidethe SEC, it's tough.
It's gonna be very tough foryou to make it as a secondary
team.
I don't know what happens ifthe ACC ever puts a conference

(18:26):
together and can play footballcompetently.
Uh, right now they got sevenand five Duke playing in their
conference championship game, souh not exactly inspiring
confidence in that regard.
Uh, Duke had to win a weirdtiebreaker to get that, too, by
the way.
Um, which is sad that therewere many teams at 7-5 that were

(18:47):
in this tiebreaker scenario.
But anyway, I digress.
Uh yeah, so Lane's there now atLSU, and we'll see what they
do.
I don't know.
Uh I do love, however, uh allthe social media postings about
uh Lane Kiffin and all of asudden people have bad things to
say about him.
I always love when a coachleaves like that and they're not

(19:09):
fired, but they leave.
Then all of a sudden everybodyand their brother has bad things
to say about them.
It's just unbelievable how thathappens every time.
So that's funny stuff.
If you want to search some ofthat on social media, there's
some funny ones.
I don't know if any of it'strue or not, but it made me
laugh the other day.
Uh recap of the OSU Michigangame, OSU 27, Michigan 9.

(19:33):
Brian Day finally gets rid ofBaba Yeah, his boogeyman.
Uh I do think the entire stateof Ohio was holding their breath
for the entire first quarter asMichigan hit their first two
field goals.
They started the game up 6 0,but it was all OSU after that.

(19:56):
They scored to take the leadearly in the second quarter, and
they never looked.
Back.
In fact, Michigan didn't evenscore in the second half.
I honestly watched this game.
The second half was veryboring.
Um, I don't know if Michigancrossed their own 40-yard line,
not even midfield, but their own40.
Like they I'd have to go backand look at the game tracker or

(20:18):
whatever on it.
I they just they strung nothingtogether.
They were like, oh, we can'tthrow, so we're gonna try to
run, but we can't run.
So here's we ran it threetimes.
We got four yards.
It's fourth and six.
We punt.
I mean, that was the entiresecond half.
It was awful.
Uh, it started to snow a littlebit.
Um, OSU and Ryan Day finallyget that big win, though,

(20:41):
against Michigan.
He had one, I think his firstseason, he beat Michigan, but it
had been since before COVID.
COVID-19, you remember that?
COVID-19?
Uh, that was the last time.
It was pre-COVID-19 uh that OSUwon this game.
So, hats off.
OSU looking very good thisyear.

(21:03):
Uh, I got another big game foryou, recap here.
Texas AM 17.
They were number three in allthe land, or number two,
depending on what ranking youwere looking at.
Uh, 17 Texas 27.
AM picks up its first loss ofthe year.
Listen, I don't I I've saidthis before about the SEC and AM

(21:24):
in particular.
I don't think this AM team isvery good.
I they played a very soft SECschedule.
I know the SEC people are gonnayell at this, but I'm sorry.
They got a pretty easy SECschedule.
And I know the SEC fans aresaying there's no such thing as
an easy SEC schedule.
Even Mississippi State withtheir cowbell is great.

(21:45):
Oh, what are you talking about?
Uh yeah, they look at some ofthe teams they played.
Like they just were not verygood.
Uh, they have no wins againstthe top 10 team.
Uh when you're picking yourcollege football playoff bracket
or your games or whatever, you're betting on the games.
Look to pick against Texas.
They are soft, soft, soft, soft, soft.

(22:07):
They are Charmin Squeezablesoft.
Uh, Texas is not very good thisyear.
I've ranted and raved.
They also didn't play thatgreat of an SEC schedule.
They have a bad loss atFlorida.
Florida is terrible.
They fired their coach thisyear.
Didn't go 500, didn't get intoa bowl game.

(22:29):
Uh they lost to that team, andthey had many, many close games
and a few overtime games againstsubpar teams.
Texas not very good.
I don't don't don't do nottrust in Texas Aina.
Alright, let's get into an NFLrecap here.

(22:50):
It's been a couple weeks, sowe're just kind of gonna do
broad strokes here, except formy cowboys.
How about them cowboys?
They did what they always do tome.
Why do they do this to me?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Alright.
This is a cowboys talk here, real quick.
As a Cowboys fan, they played agame, I think it was four

(23:12):
weeks, five weeks ago.
They played Monday nightfootball prime time.
I was all set.
They're playing the ArizonaCardinals.
Arizona's not very good.
Jacoby Brisket, backupquarterbacks in.
No little Kyler Murray.
He's out with uh Call of DutyHands or whatever it is this
week.
Uh, so he's out with shortness.
I don't know.
Uh, so he's out.
I'm thinking, okay, this is it.

(23:33):
Cowboys, they start here.
I was looking ahead at theschedule.
They had some winnable games.
They had Raiders coming up.
This seemed winnable, whatever.
Dog crap game.
They got embarrassed byArizona.
Arizona beat him on both sidesof the ball.
The defense looked horribleagain.

(23:53):
Brissette didn't look good, buthe looked good enough to beat
the Cowboys.
And so at that point in theseason, this was five weeks ago,
I was like, okay, I'm totallyout.
Like the Cowboys, like, youcan't beat Arizona.
You're not doing anything thisyear.
Well, they did what they alwaysdid.
They won three games in a row.

(24:14):
And two of those three games, they beat the Eagles, and they
beat Kansas City.
And so it had me thinking onThanksgiving Day, they beat
Kansas City.
I'm thinking, alright, howabout them Cowboys?
Get my hopes up.
And then the Lions evisceratethem last night.

(24:34):
Thursday night football.
One week later, Lions beat themby 14.
Defense non-existent again.
I don't know what happened.
The defense all of a suddenwent from stopping Patrick
Mahomes in Kansas City to aLions team that is a good Lions
team, but not a great Lionsteam, and not as good as the

(24:54):
Lions team from last year.
So I thought I had my hopes upall week.
I was set on the couch, 8.15.
The game was on.
I was ready.
Nope.
They come out and punch himright in the mouth.
Get ahead early.
Stay ahead the whole game.
CeeDee Lamb gets a concussion, gets out of the game.
And that's not why they lost.

(25:16):
They just look terrible.
You can't give up 44 points andwin many games in the NFL.
Ask the Bengals.
They would know about that.
They have very little chance tomake the playoffs now.
I just I wish they hadn't beatthe I don't know.
I don't want to say I don'twant them to beat the Eagles and
I don't want them to beatKansas City.
I don't like those teams,especially the Eagles,

(25:37):
obviously, the division team.
But man, that got my hopes upso much.
And then to just lose like thisto the Lions, I just, I don't
know.
They have very little chance.
They would need to almost winout and have the Eagles lose two
games out of their last five.
Not impossible.
But not great odds either.
So that's with the Cowboyswinning out.

(25:59):
So yeah, that pretty much endsthe Cowboys season.
Like my fantasy football team, the season ends well before the
playoffs are announced.
Um AFC North, what a mess.
What an absolute slop fest.
Steelers and Ravens keeplosing.
The Bengals, all of a sudden,on Thanksgiving night, Joe

(26:19):
Burrow arose from the turkey.
I don't know what all of asudden he's back.
They're only two games behind.
This is going to be a wilddivision.
The two teams tied for the leadare 6-6.
I I the only thing for sure inthat division is that the Browns

(26:39):
are definitely out of it.
They only have three losses.
I mean, I guess they're notdefinitely out of it, but they
look very bad.
Um I don't see them coming backinto the picture, but who
knows?
Right now we're sitting 75%done, and the best teams six and
six.
So I guess nothing's totallyout of the realm of possibility
there.
Uh speaking of teams losing, the Colts have dropped two in a

(27:02):
row, and now they are tied forthe AFC South lead with the
Jaguars.
Um, I did a little peek ahead.
I mentioned this a couple weeksago.
Keep your eye on these Coltsbecause it could be like a
Mirage 8-2, and sure enough, Ithink it might be a Mirage.
Their schedule left.
I don't know if they'll makethe playoffs.

(27:23):
They this week they have atJags, then they're at Seattle,
then they play the 49ers, thenthey play the Jags again, and
then they play the team thatjust beat them at the Texans.
Honestly, looking at thatschedule, I mean, if you best
case scenario, they split theJags.
I I don't even know if they cando that.

(27:45):
I they may lose out.
I don't think you can win atSeattle.
I don't know.
I've been wrong before, but Idon't see them winning at
Jacksonville this weekend.
I don't see them winning atSeattle.
That means they're rolling fourlosses in a row.
The team's down in thedumpster.
They go and play the 49ers athome.
I don't think they beat them.
Play the Jags at home.
That's their best shot atgetting a win.

(28:06):
And then they end the season atthe Texans.
I Texans are the defense on theTexans right now is flying
around all over the place.
I do not want to play theTexans if I'm anybody right now.
Um, yeah.
I mean, the Colts, that'scrazy.
We won is that one, two, three, four, five games left.
They may end eight and seven.
Now wait, wait, what?

(28:29):
No, I'm sorry.
They have four losses.
They may end eight and nine.
I don't know.
I I'm very worried.
We'll see how they do atJacksonville.
So Jacksonville's not a greatteam.
They've been very shaky thisyear, too.
I've had them in a few locks, they've disappointed, they
haven't covered.
So it's not like uh it's aforegone thing.
So maybe they'll turn itaround, but boy, they are not

(28:50):
looking sharp right now.
And uh to wrap up the AFC, thenthe Chiefs are currently in
10th place, sitting out of theplayoffs behind Houston and
Pittsburgh.
Now I know some family memberslistening to that just cheered
in the background.
I don't know, you probably hearit if you're listening to it at
the same time that they are.
Uh the Chiefs still have a shotif they turn it around and go

(29:14):
on a run, but they seem brokenthis year.
I'm not sure what's going on.
If it's fatigue, they you know, they've played in seven
straight AFC championship games,um, or they just like
complacency, like they thinkthey'll, you know, they bend to
seven in a row and they'll justshow up and um everybody will,

(29:36):
you know, they'll they'll win, like, oh, we'll just show up and
win.
We don't need to, whatever.
I don't know what it is thatthey can coast through or
something like that.
You see this sometimes, especially at the end of a
dynasty, which I'm not sayingthis is the end of the dynasty,
but it might be a look at it.
You kind of see this uh wherethe team doesn't click anymore.

(29:59):
Uh, maybe they need to get somenew blood in that's hungry or
something, uh, but they seembroken.
And the and the Patriots kindof did this.
Uh they kept Tom Brady, and uhthat's what I'm saying.
I'm not saying you like get ridof Mahomes or anything with new
blood.
I'm I'm talking about theeverything around Mahomes,
getting some new receiver core, rebuild your defense, rebuild

(30:20):
your line, all that kind ofstuff.
Maybe you need to get newpeople in that haven't won a
bunch of championships orhaven't been to a bunch of Super
Bowls um that that have thathunger in them, that fight in
them.
Because and then the Patriotskind of did this.
They won those three uh threeout of four in the early 2000s
there, and then they had kind ofa lull in the late 20 aughts, I

(30:45):
guess they call it the aughts2010s there, and then the early
2010s where they weren't winningSuper Bowls, and then they kind
of rebuilt and reconfigured, and you know, Tom Brady stayed
consistent, the coach stayedconsistent, um, but everything
around them kind of changed.
The players changed, everythingelse, all the other areas.
So um, maybe it's that time.
Maybe it's time that Andy Reidand Mahomes kind of reset, and

(31:09):
over the next three or fouryears, they kind of rebuild that
team.
I mean, Kelsey's getting old.
It's people have been talkingabout him retiring for years.
Chris Jones can't be thatyoung.
I feel like he's been thereforever on the defensive side.
I I don't know.
I don't know.
We'll see.
Um a good example of what Imean by them being broken is is

(31:30):
if you go back to the ThursdayThanksgiving game against the
Cowboys, in the fourth quarter, they're down late.
They get the ball.
This is classic Kansas City.
You know, they go on a longdrive, they at least get a field
goal to whatever pull withinone score.
I think they were down seven atthe time.
Uh, you know, they always getsome kind of points out of it.

(31:50):
They may not get the touchdown, but they always, like Mahomes
fourth quarter down, always, always, always makes a drive.
At least makes the drive downthe field.
They go three and out and punt.
You never see that.
If they're down late, theyalways string it together.
Uh I was watching it and I'mjust like, all of a sudden,

(32:10):
poof, the punter's out.
And I'm like, wait, what?
So, yeah.
So I don't know.
We'll see what the Chiefs do.
Um, but that's that's aninteresting watch.
So, all right, and then somethoughts from the NFC.
Uh, the Bears, if you're notaware, are the number one seed.
That's weird.
Uh, and it also means I mayhave been very wrong on my

(32:32):
thoughts about Caleb Williamslast year.
Uh, I gave some I kind ofshredded him on this podcast
along with other people.
Um, but maybe he was just aresult of Matt Dweeberflus being
the head coach there, and uh,now that he has a competent head
coach, he's doing well.
So uh but yeah, Bears one seed.

(32:53):
What a stunning development.
Uh, and not something that Ihad, boy, if you bet that before
the season with the and thenthere's still five weeks ago,
but uh if you told me that theBears, if you looked at what
Bears winning uh regular seasonNFC looked like, I would have
told you the odds were too highyou shouldn't even waste 10

(33:13):
bucks on it.
But wow.
Um the NFC West is unreal.
Rams and Seahawks are both 9-3.
San Francisco, who uh hasn'thad their bye yet, nine and
four.
You might in the NFC this year, you might need 11 wins and the
tiebreaker to get in a wild cardspot.

(33:35):
There's five games left.
And there's two teams from theNFC West sitting with nine wins.
And there's five games left.
I mean, uh some of those gamesthey play each other, so they're
not gonna they can't win themall, but they could win three.
I mean, they could be sittingthere both of those teams at 12.
That means the third wild card, all three of those teams, Rams,

(33:57):
Seahawks, Sam Fran, they couldall be 12 and 4, 12 and 5, and
be in the playoffs, and thenthat means one other wild card,
and then you're out of luck.
Like, that's 12 and 5 is crazy.
That's really good.
So uh that's a very toughdivision this year.

(34:18):
Uh, and then the NFC South, don't look now.
But the Panthers, who startedone and three, are now tied for
the lead in the South with TampaBay at 7-5.
Unbelievable turnaround.
The Panthers, I've talked aboutit on here.
They had that Meow Mix podcastthat they they started one and
three.
The Meow Mix podcast guys said, you know, we've been doing this

(34:39):
for fun for years.
It's not fun anymore.
This team stinks, we're gonnacancel the podcast.
All of a sudden the Panthers goon a big winning streak there.
Uh, and and it's unbelievable.
Uh, started one and three, nowseven and five.
Uh, have gone six and two overthe last eight games.
Just an incredible turnaround.
Uh, and good for them.

(35:00):
Alright, that's it for therecaps.
We're gonna get into uh an oldman yells at cloud here, and
then we've got the big games forthe week, and then our gambling
group locks, and then I'll giveyou my lock of the week at the
end here.
So let's get into the old manyelling at cloud here.

(35:22):
X, formerly known as Twitter.
Your algorithm is cooked.
I'm gonna pull the phone outhere in a minute to show you,
but uh, I almost never get onthere now.
I used to, if you, you know, Iyou on I don't know, iPhones you
probably can do this too, butAndroids, you can kind of see

(35:44):
like what apps you use the most, spend the most time on,
whatever, open the most, use themost from your phone, all that
kind of stuff.
You can get analytics on it.
X used to be, Twitter used tobe one of the top apps on my
phone.
I was on it all the time.
I got news from there, I gotsports scores from there, sports
information, trending topics,things like that.

(36:04):
Everything used to be in X.
I used to use it for thispodcast.
I used to, I'd heart tweets,I'd like them, heart them,
interesting stats, interestingstories.
You know, I I would see them onTwitter and I would save them
in a you know a way, and like asI'm writing out my notes for

(36:25):
the podcast for the next week, Igo through those and I'm like,
oh yeah, that's uh you know, thePanthers started one and three,
and and now they're tied forthe lead.
That's crazy.
The Malmix podcast, you know, all these things.
Uh the first time that this hashappened.
You'll you'll hear me say it ifyou listen back to some of the
old podcasts.
It'll be, oh, this is the firsttime this has happened since
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

(36:45):
Yeah.
Uh, but somehow now my entiretimeline on there, my for you
page or whatever is now weird AIposts.
They're like, I don't know whathappened.
I don't know if I like glancedat things too long and the
algorithm has totally cooked me.
I don't know, but I need toreset.

(37:06):
Uh there are like these weirdposts about investing and buying
homes and businesses and stufflike that.
And I'm like, I don't firstoff, I have a home, it's a very
nice home.
I love it here.
I I'm not in the market for ahouse.
I I don't know, maybe my mybrother and sister-in-law were
looking for homes this summer,so maybe like my phone heard

(37:27):
them talking about houses andthen like whoop converted it
into my ex app.
I have no idea.
Um, I am currently not lookingfor a house, um, nor have I
been.
Um I don't understand.
Uh I engage with the sportspost, I click on to them, I read
people's top comments, youknow, through the scrolling

(37:50):
through them.
I spend time looking at them, Ihearted them.
I don't understand why thesports stuff has been like
pushed out of X.
I don't know if like theyweren't getting revenue from
that.
I see the occasional collegefootball post, especially on
like Tuesday nights, Wednesdaymornings, lot of thoughts about
the college football playoffranking.
I do see that.

(38:10):
But then like it you it's likeeverybody gets on and talks
about it for two days, and thenit kind of just like disappears.
Like I and then until a game isplayed on the weekend or
something, then I don't seemuch.
But then I don't even alwayssee it there.
I don't I don't get it.
Uh so so just like let me justshow you what I'm talking about
here.
Like, I obviously I do a sportspodcast, I talk about gambling,

(38:33):
I talk about gambling with myfriends and family.
Uh I I communicate aboutgambling.
Like, I'm very much into sportsand gambling, sports gambling,
all that stuff, obviously.
I'm the number one sportsgambling podcast in Liberty
Township, of course.
But uh, I'm gonna open up theold X app, formerly Twitter
here.
I'm gonna tell you what my topstories are right now.

(38:53):
So, okay, first uh tweet.
The Netflix Warner deal thatwas announced last night.
Okay, I don't care.
News flash, I don't care.
These these streaming apps,Netflix and HBO Max and all
these things, they're gonna bebought and sold 10 times over
because the streaming modeldoesn't work, okay?
I don't care.

(39:14):
I don't I don't care.
Uh just tell me where I watchmy games, alright?
Like, okay, the Christmas Daygame is on Netflix.
Okay, is it still calledNetflix?
Do I still have it?
That's all I need to know.
I I don't care if they merge, Idon't care if they crumble, I
don't care if they go out ofbusiness.
Like, just just make sure Iknow uh where I can watch my
games, alright?
I don't care.

(39:34):
Uh alright, what's this nextone here?
Uh a tweet about the TV showhouse.
Uh okay, that was from like twodecades ago.
Okay, very timely discussion.
Um, ad.
I do I will give them uh ashout out.
Uh, unlike some other socialmedia sites, Twitter, it's very
clear if it's an ad.

(39:55):
Well, I guess if they want youto know, ooh, this is a little.
Well, now we're turning thisinto not only an old man but
also a stay woke.
Uh I guess it's an ad that theywant you to know is an ad.
Maybe there's more posts thatare ads that aren't actually
ads.
I'm talking myself into apretzel here.
What I'm saying is in the uh ona Twitter ad, uh top right

(40:17):
corner, it has a little word ad.
So you know it's an ad.
Uh, but maybe there's poststhat are ads that aren't marked
as ads, so I'm really seeingmore ads than I think my brain
is seeing.
Anyway, I do like that I knowright away that it's an ad.
A lot of times I click thelittle three dots thing and
block the entire thing becauseit's something I have zero
interest in whatsoever, and Ireport it and say I don't ever

(40:39):
want to see this again.
Alright, so there we go.
So uh okay, so I'm in the threetweets now, nothing good.
Oh my, the next one's an ad.
That's four tweets, nothinggood.
Uh someone complaining aboutSean Hannity.
Uh, I don't even know where heworks anymore.
Who cares?
Who why are we in this?
It's 2025.
Why are we talking about SeanHannity?

(41:00):
I don't care.
Alright.
Um, oh, a Trump joke.
Yep, that's very uh on par forX.
Uh a Trump joke about FIFA'sgiving him a peace prize.
Okay, interesting.
Uh, I don't get the joke, butum wait a minute.

(41:21):
The next one's a tweet from theofficial White House account
about Trump winning the peaceprizes.
The same picture.
Wait a minute.
I assume I thought it was fake.
Wait, when does FIFA give outpeace prizes?
Wait a minute, what?
This is real?
Okay, so I guess those are twoposts in a row about politics.

(41:42):
Uh, I didn't know that FIFA wasin the business of giving out
peace prizes, but uh uh okay, all right.
I guess it wasn't fake.
So scratch that note from theprevious post.
Uh it was a real picture of himgetting the FIFA Peace Prize,
the well-known FIFA Peace Prize.
Um, oh, here's a very I guessbecause they're playing this

(42:03):
weekend.
Uh the Bengals Bills, butthere's some guy lamenting about
the Bengals beating the Billsin 2023.
Okay, okay.
Uh I don't know why this guyhere.
Oh, another ad.
Alright, alright.
Uh oh boy.
Uh Netflix post about the stateof the box office.
Okay, yeah, okay.

(42:23):
So my point is there's collegebasketball on tonight, there's
two championship games, the SunBelt, Fun Belt, and uh I don't
remember the other one.
There's another one tonight.
Anyway, there's two conferencechampionships tonight that have
implications for the collegefootball playoff.
Um I gotta flip over to my app.

(42:46):
What's what's the other onetonight?
Give me one second.
Oh my gosh.
Who's the other the uh A C theAmerican Athletic Conference?
Is this American Championship?
Is that the old A C?

(43:07):
I didn't know Tulane andUniversity in North Texas were
in that, but okay.
Anyway, so those two aretonight.
There's a bunch of collegebasketball tonight.
Nothing, no talks to thatanywhere.
And and it and it's late atnight here.
Like, I don't know.
Just a garbage app, blow up thealgorithm, fix it.
Elon, fix it.

(43:29):
I don't like it anymore.
I hardly use it.
Uh that's my old man Yelzikla.
Alright, big games for theweek.
College football playoff uh hasput themselves in a bit of a
pickle here.
Um if there are some upsets,we're in for a heck of a
selection show on Sunday.

(43:50):
That'll be Must C TV.
Uh the most boring scenariowould be this.
If Texas Tech, Alabama, andVirginia win, that's boring.
Because uh I uh the IU OSUgame, as far as like teams
getting in, teams getting out, whatever, immaterial.
Both those teams are in.
They're undefeated.
They won't move much, even ifit's a blowout win in one way or

(44:11):
the other.
If IU wins by a million, if OSUwins by a million, I don't
think they move them that much.
I think they'd probably stillkeep them in the top six, top
five.
Uh but if Texas Tech, Bama, andVirginia win, the at large bids
would likely go to the loser ofOSUIU, Georgia, Oregon, Ole

(44:31):
Miss, Texas AM, Oklahoma, andthen whatever they decide to do
with Notre Dame and Miami.
Uh, but we could get a littlespicy with it.
If BYU beats Texas Tech, thenthey'll likely steal.
I think that's the only wayBOIU gets in is if they beat
Texas Tech.
If they lose to him by three, they can't get in.
I I think that's their onlyshot.

(44:53):
They have to win it to get in,even though they're in the top
12.
Um, there's just not enoughseats for BYU.
One loss, I know.
Uh, but uh, but if BYU wins, they'll steal a bid from like
Notre Dame, Miami.
Uh, unless BYU wins and thenBama loses, then maybe they push
Bama out.
I don't know.
Uh if JMU wins its game onFriday, but then Tulane loses

(45:17):
its game, maybe JMU jumps upahead of them because right now
Tulane's ranked ahead of them, but if they lose and JMU wins,
do they flip-flop those two uhfor that group of five spot?
If Duke beats Virginia, then wehave a five-loss team in the
playoffs.
Seven and five Duke would be inthe playoffs.
Uh, Texas is still out theresomewhere in Texas, beating its

(45:38):
uh drum about getting in theirbig old drum there in Texas.
Uh I don't know if there's aworld where that happens.
What kind of chaos would needto happen?
I don't know.
There's a lot left to decide uhfor it being only a few of the
teams playing, and it could getvery spicy this weekend.
So let's roll through thechampionship games here.
Uh, I'm gonna skip the Fridaynight ones with all due respect

(45:59):
to Tulane and JMU.
I don't even remember whoyou're playing, so like nobody
cares.
Um we got number 11 BYU atnumber, I didn't write it down,
Texas Tech.
Number four?
I think they're number four.
Uh BYU, 12.5 point dog.

(46:21):
Uh their only loss this year,BYU, was to Texas Tech, but they
lost by like a billion.
And I was on BYU then.
You know what?
They say fool me once, shame onme.
Fool me twice, shame on you.
That stands especially forUBYU.
I am not backing the Mormonshere.

(46:43):
Uh I like Texas Tech minus12.5.
That game's at noon, so get onit early.
Uh Georgia, number threeagainst number nine Alabama for
the SEC Championship.
Georgia, two and a half pointfavorites, but I like their

(47:04):
dogs, but I like the underdogsin this one.
Bama plus two and a half iswhat I'm telling you to take
here.
Bama owns Georgia.
Kirby Smart against all-timerecord against Alabama, one and
seven.
That's a little nice stat.
I could have used to get, uhused to could get.
What what?
What is going on with myEnglish tonight?

(47:27):
Back when Twitter was Twitter,I would have seen that all over
the place.
And now I didn't see itanywhere.
I saw it, I heard it somewhere,I don't know, on a pod another
podcast or something this week, and it and I just stored it in
my brain.
Uh I don't think this is anydifferent.
I take forget the points.
Bama, moneyline, they win thisgame.

(47:48):
Uh, roll tide.
Duke, unranked Duke, 7-5 Dukeagainst number 17, University of
Virginia.
Virginia minus four.
I this just speaks volume tothe ACC and how bad it is.
Uh that the unranked 7-5 teamthat needed a million

(48:09):
tiebreakers to fall their way.
If you have some time, look uphow they both got those
tiebreakers.
It's incredible.
There's like 14 steps that hadto happen for Duke to do it, and
it happened.
Um, just a they're not verygood.
I think it'd be hilarious ifDuke won.
I don't think they will win.
Uh, I like Virginia to coverthe four here.
I I don't think I don't thinkDuke's for real.

(48:31):
Um and then the last game, uh,the eight o'clock game here.
Well, I think the Duke Virginiagame's at eight, but how many
people you think is watchingDuke Virginia when IU,
undefeated IU, and undefeatedOSU are playing in Lucas Oil
Saturday night, eight o'clock.
OSU, number one in all theland, Indiana number two.

(48:53):
We finally get these two tomatch up this year.
Four-point favorite, OhioState.
Uh, this is my stay away game.
I have no clue what's gonnahappen here.
I am just gonna watch the game.
I look, OSU, I think, I watchedthe Michigan game.
They looked dominant lastweekend, but so did Indiana.

(49:17):
Now, Indiana played one of themost horrific Purdue teams I've
ever seen.
Look, Purdue football.
As good as basketball is goingfor Purdue, it's like they have
to suck all the energy and powerand wins out of the football
team.
It's like they can't have twoat the same time that are good.
They either have basketball orthey have football.

(49:38):
Like, football went to the BigTen championship just like three
or four years ago.
I think it was in 22.
They played in the Big Ten.
Football, the football team.
Uh, I don't know if they've wona Big Ten game.
They did win, I think two yearsago they won a Big Ten game.
Uh, so they they did in thelast three years have won a Big

(49:59):
Ten game, but I think it's maybeonly one.
I think last year they only wonone game.
This year they won two.
They played 12.
Uh, that's three wins in twoyears.
Look, things are not lookinggood.
So when they beat up on a teamlike that, I don't care as much.
OSU, Michigan looked prettygood.
They're ranked in the top 25.
They've looked good thisseason.
Uh, that was more impressive tome.

(50:20):
But both teams look better thanthey did last year.
I thought they were both verygood last year.
They both made the collegefootball playoff, the very first
college football playoff.
Uh, all season long this year.
Uh, this is why, so I'm sayingthat about, you know, they look
good, but they played a badteam, look good, played a good
team.
But then you got to thinkthrough the whole season, like

(50:41):
every week that IU would playlike a ranked team or somebody,
like all the talking heads ongame day, on all these things.
Oh, this is the week IU loses.
Oh, I pick IU, uh, Illinois toupset IU.
Ha ha ha ha.
Isn't that funny?
Ha ha ha ha.
Uh, I pick Oregon to upset IU.
Ha ha ha ha.
Well, I guess that wasn't anupset, it was in Oregon.
They were favorites.
But you get my point.

(51:02):
They're saying, oh, this iswhen IU loses, this is when IU
loses.
Every week, every week.
They lose to Illinois, theylose Oregon, they said it, they
said it, they said it.
Indian S 12-0.
They didn't lose.
They dog them and they playedclose games, like winning at
Penn State.
Now, I know Penn State's notgreat this year, but it was on
the road.
The Penn State crowd was jackedup, ready to roll, and and it

(51:26):
they needed overtime to beatthem.
But you know what?
They won them all and they keptwinning.
Historically, Ohio State alwayskills Indiana.
They did last year, but theygot like three turnovers early
in the game.
And then Coach uh Sig, heplayed that game weird last
year.
I don't know what happenedthere.
Uh, he played it like not tolose.
He didn't go for it enough inlast year's game.

(51:48):
I'm not sure what was going onthere.
I don't know if he was worriedlike if they they lost by I
think they lost by like threetouchdowns, but if they lost by
like five or seven touchdownsthat they would like take them
out of the college footballplayoff entirely, I don't know.
So he was like playing not tolose rather than trying to win.
If you know what I mean, youknow what I mean.
Um I if if Indiana hangs aroundearly, I think they can win

(52:11):
this game.
I don't know.
But it also wouldn't shock meif Ohio State wins by 14.
I their defense is so good.
It's so good.
I I I don't I don't know.
Indiana has a Heismanquarterback.
I think he's gonna win theHeisman.
I just want to watch this game.
I'm not gonna bet it.
This is my stay away game.

(52:32):
I don't know which way this isgonna go.
Stay away.
That's my that's my pick forthis one.
That's my stay away game of theweek.
All right, let's get into theNFL here and then wrap this
thing up.
Last bye week of the season49ers, Giants, Panthers,
Patriots, all on a bye thisweek.
That's it.
Then we're four weeks and out.

(52:53):
So cherish it.
Cherish this football weekend, cherish the next four because
it's soon going to go away.
Like the Christmas seasonfluttering away.
Uh Pittsburgh at Baltimore,Baltimore minus six.
This one's for the divisionlead.
I mentioned it earlier.
They're both tied for thedivision lead in the AFC North,

(53:15):
six and six.
I love the Ravens here.
Uh, Pittsburgh's look so bad.
I've talked about it at lengthon this podcast.
Aaron Rodgers looks so bitter.
He is so mad to be there.
Doesn't want to be there.
Like that team just it's justbad vibes all around.
Uh I don't like them.
I don't like Pittsburgh here.

(53:35):
Uh, it kills me because I had afuture on Pittsburgh.
I thought Rogers could maybe bethe answer.
It's not looking good.
Uh, I like Baltimore minus sixhere.
Indy at Jacksonville.
Jacksonville home dogs.
Home dogs run faster.
Jacksonville plus one and ahalf at home.
Again, uh, this was almost myuh lock of the week.

(53:59):
I I'd taken the Jags a littletoo many times, I think, for my
own liking.
Uh they've kind of they got meone time.
Uh they paid off once, they gotme once as a lock.
Uh, I will bet this game, but Iuh this is not my lock.
Uh Begin, division lead.
They're both eight and four, tied for the division.
Indy lost two in a row.

(54:21):
Indiana Jones looks shook.
I like Jacksonville here.
I like home dogs.
Home dogs run faster.
I'm just gonna do a littleJacksonville money line on my
card.
That's what I'm betting there.
Cincinnati at Buffalo minussix.
Uh, every game that the Bengalsplay is a must-win to the rest

(54:42):
of the season.
Um, and I think they win.
I look, I know their defense isnot great.
It's very, very bad, actually.
But I don't, I don't, they gotJoe Burrow back.
They uh like the thiseverything's going their way.
They they beat the Ravens, likethe Bills have not looked like
the Bills of old.
I questioned a while ago if theBills would even make a as a

(55:05):
wild card.
New England has a firm grip onthat division.
They've risen from the ashes ofvery bad quarterbacks after Tom
Brady to having Drake May andlooking like a top of the AFC
franchise again.
I don't understand how they didthat.
Um it kind of disgusts me alittle bit.

(55:27):
Um, but yeah, uh like theBills, they're not winning the
division, they're gonna have toget a wild card.
Um they they don't look thatsharp this year.
I I like Cincinnati here.
I know it's in Buffalo.
There'll probably be snow.
I like Cincinnati.
Cincinnati plus six.
Take it plus six.
I think you sprinkle the moneyline a little bit, you get good

(55:48):
odds on that money line with theminus six, but uh definitely I
think they cover the six.
But I want to look at the overin that one because the Bears'
defense, or the Bears.
Oops, I'm moving on to the nextgame.
Uh Cincinnati's defense, very,very bad.
Cincinnati, very, very bad.
Um I'm gonna skip this next oneand come back to it in a little

(56:10):
bit.
A little foreshadowing there onwhat my lock of the week is.
Uh, and we got two more I wantto talk about here.
Houston at Kansas City, KansasCity minus three and a half.
Now, I don't understand this.
Kansas City just lost to theCowboys.
Houston's looking good.
I talked about how I don't likethe Chiefs, this look of this
Chiefs team, that their timemight be up.
Houston's defense is absolutelyterrific.

(56:32):
Uh, you have to go Houston plusthree and a half here.
Even I I'm not saying moneylineon this one.
I don't know.
I'm not fully ready to say thatthe time is up for Kansas City.
But uh boy, it's getting close.
Uh we're the clock's about tostrike midnight, I think, and
the Chiefs are gonna turn intopumpkins here.

(56:52):
Uh Mahomes going to get sackedat least three times.
So if you can find a way to putthat in your little parlay
thing or whatever, you want tobuild your own little parlay,
single-game parlay, SGP.
I uh see if you can get Mahomessacked over three times.
I feel this Houston defense iscrazy.
I think they're gonna sack him, sack him, sack him.
Uh he holds the ball too long, trying to do all these fancy

(57:15):
things, and that front four, that front four is nasty.
They'll bring four.
It's not, they they get youwatch a Houston game.
They get you bringing four andsitting seven back, and they get
there with the four.
I mean, it is some of the gamesI've watched Houston.
It's I I'm like they had tosend five, six people at least.

(57:38):
Nope, just front four.
That front four is tremendous, and they're gonna get to Mahomes
on Sunday.
Uh they may even win, but Idefinitely like Houston plus
three and a half here.
And then Philly at theChargers.
Chargers, another home dog, twoand a half point home dog.
Uh, quick question.

(57:59):
And this is rhetorical becauseI'm talking to myself here on a
podcast, but are the Chargersthe least talked-about team in
football?
I they play in LA.
LA's a big city.
Like the Lakers are talkedabout all the time, all the
time, in the NBA circles.
The Rams, people talk about theRams, they play in LA.
I the Dodgers just won theWorld Series.

(58:21):
The Chargers play in LA.
It's like, it's like they don'texist.
They're 8-4.
I was surprised to see thatthey were eight and four.
I thought maybe, okay, what arewe like six and six, uh, seven
and five or something?
Like they're just middlingaround.
No, they're eight and four, they're very good, they're in
the playoffs.
Uh, I never hear anything aboutthem.
I don't, I just, I don't know.

(58:45):
It used to be all about AirBear and how great he was and
this, that, and the next thing.
And now you just don't evenhear about them.
So I they're the mostsurprising eight and four team
in the NFL, I think.
I I think if you took a poll ofpeople and said, uh, are the
Chargers do the Chargers have awinning record?
I think you'd get almost like a50-50 yes and no.
No, they're eight and four.

(59:06):
I don't get it.
I don't know.
Uh anyway, the the way to getabout that round about rant
there was there's a reason wedon't talk about them.
Nobody cares about theChargers.
They lose this game, they loseit by more than three.
I love Philly here, plus twoand a half.
Uh, after losing to theCowboys, after losing to the

(59:26):
Bears, I think they rally hereand go on the road to LA and
win.
I like Philly to win by morethan three.
All right, let's get into someof the gambling group locks.
I only got four of them foryou, and then my own.
But we got the important one.
Let's start with the importantone.
Uncle John Duke, Virginia minusfour.

(59:48):
Oh no, I said I liked Virginiaminus four.
He's giving you Virginia minusfour.
Uncle John, I need you to miss.
Oh man.
Oh man.
I said I like that game too.
For it.
Alright, well, that's UncleJohn's luck.
He's been very good this year.
Him and I are both tied for thelead.
He's given you Virginia minusfour over Duke in that ACC

(01:00:10):
championship game.
I like that one a lot.
I like it.
Greg has given us the game Itold you to stay away from.
He's given you OSU minus fiveand a half over Indiana.
Greg is a big uh OSU homer.
He grew up in Ohio.
He's a homer.
He usually doesn't bet him.
I don't know.
This is interesting that hewould pick Ohio State here.

(01:00:32):
He must be very confident inthis game.
I'm staying away.
I'm still going to stay away.
Uncle Mike gave us BYU TexasTech over 49.5.
I like that a lot.
When they played the last time, that went well over, I think,
the 49.5.
I'd have to look it up.
But I feel like Texas Techalmost scored 49.5 in the last

(01:00:54):
game.
Like they were just, it waslike spinning wheel of points
for them.
So yeah, I like that a lot.
At a neutral site, love it.
And then the last one we gotthis week, uh, Steve's given us
Tampa Bay minus eight and ahalf, and they're hosting New
Orleans.
New Orleans very, very bad.
Tampa Bay needs a win.
Uh, you know, I mentionedearlier the Panthers are on a

(01:01:16):
bye this week.
So a win here would put themlike a half game or a game ahead
of the Panthers who are on abye.
Yeah, I think Tampa Baydefinitely wins this game.
New Orleans, I think, has oneor two wins all year.
And uh yeah, Tampa wins this uheight and a half's a lot.
But Tampa's very bad.
I I do like this eight and ahalf.

(01:01:38):
I I would go with that.
But yeah, so nothing fromEthan, Matt, or Scott, but
that's okay.
We'll get the AI ones out whenthey get them in.
Now we're going into my lock ofthe week.
I am giving you, I think, forthe first time.
Bears plus six and a half.

(01:01:59):
I don't know if in the fouryears of this podcast I've ever
picked the Chicago Bears.
Duh Bears as my lock of theweek.
I don't, I look, a lot of timesI pick my locks, I look at the
and mostly NFL games.
I look at the college gamesome, uh, but I look at the NFL
games and I look at it and I'mlike, I don't know.
Okay, maybe this one.

(01:02:20):
I pick all the games.
My wife and I were in a littleleague at our work.
We pick every single game everyweek against the spread.
And as I'm filling it out, thisis where my inspiration comes
from.
I do a little digging, youknow, on some of them, but like
I'm looking, I'm looking, I'mlike, okay, maybe this one or
that one, I don't know.
Coin toss, coin toss.
Uh, I think this one, I thinkthat one, blah, blah, blah.

unknown (01:02:42):
Right.

Andy (01:02:43):
There are times when it like strikes me like a lightning
bolt in the app when I'm goingto make a pick, and I just like
I cannot hit my thumb on it hardenough or fast enough.
And Bears plus six and a halfwas that moment.
I'm s I'm like, I'm likelooking at the phone.
I'm looking.
I open other apps, I'm like, the phone wrong.

(01:03:05):
The phone must be wrong.
What's going on?
Six and a half makes no sense.
That's a touchdown.
What is this?
Uh the spread must be three anda half.
The Bears are the number oneteam in the NFC.
The Bears have looked verysharp this year.
The Bears' defense has lookedvery good.
They have a running game in2025 that is very good.
Uh I don't, six and a halfdoesn't make sense.

(01:03:31):
I hammered it, and then I said, boom, that's my lock.
I like the Jags.
I said it earlier.
I said I like I thinkJacksonville's gonna win that
game against India.
I like that they're a home dog,but I couldn't pass this up.
Bears on the road, and I knowit's in Green Bay, and Green Bay
with Aaron Rodgers was theboogeyman, and they kind of like
OSU in Michigan with Ryan Dayand losing to Michigan all the

(01:03:52):
time.
But like the Aaron Rodgers isgone, the boogeyman's gone.
I know Jordan Love beat himlast year, but they beat him at
the end of the year.
Uh, I I think I think the Bearsbeat him.
I don't I I'm gonna put some onthe money line here.
I I don't know.
I keep picking against theBears too.
As the season was going on, youknow, especially early in the

(01:04:14):
season, I'm like, oh the BearsCarol Williams.
No, no, pick against them inthat little app every week.
Pick against the Bears, andthey would cover, and they would
win, and they would cover.
I'm I'm writing the ship on theBears.
I'm going with the Bears.
I'm gonna bear down ChicagoBears.
Um, Bears plus six and a halfin Green Bay.

(01:04:36):
That's my lock of the week.
Lock it in.
That's gonna do it for thisweek's episode.
Thank you so much forlistening.
Uh, tell your friends about thepodcast.
Well, I was surprised.
Uh, Spotify's Unwrap came out.
We were not a top 10 sportspodcast in the United States.
I'm a little confused.
What are my listeners doinghere?
Share it with your friends, share it with your family, share

(01:04:59):
it with your priest, uh, yourminister, whatever.
Get the word out.
The podcast is going up everyweek.
We got a podcast for you here.
No, I'm just kidding.
Um, we'll look to be onSpotify's unwrapped next year.
That's the that's the goal.
Uh, but that's gonna do it.
We got the dog picks.
We're coming on TikTok.
Uh, we'll have uh StanleyPoochie's pick and Ladies Lock,

(01:05:20):
Sunday night football, Mondaynight football.
Only five of them left.
We gotta get them all in.
That's gonna do it for thisweek.
Thanks everybody and good luck,gambling.
