Meet The Spy-Fi Guys, Christian and Zach. Spy-Fi is short for Spy Fiction, but we cover spy fact, spy fiction, and everything in between. Join us every episode as we analyze our favorite moments and then take you behind the scenes for the stories behind the celluloid.
The Spy-Fi Guys celebrate Global James Bond Day with one of the better regarded Sean Connery outings: Thunderball from 1965. The primary source for Austin Powers' parodies, in this one SPECTRE blackmails the world with stolen nuclear weapons while 007 faces off against eyepatch-wearing Largo. This is also the one with the underwater fight scenes. Guest starring Jacob aka the Capitol Merm...
If you're feeling tricked, that's a good start. This time around the Spy-Fi Guys are entering the world of Goldeneye, and not the good one. This one is a TV movie from 1989 starring Charles Dance (aka Tywin Lannister) as the author Ian Fleming, the writer of the James Bond novels and sort-of-spy himself. With that intriguing start, does the movie have what it takes to bring this larger t...
The Spy-Fi Guys return to reality game shows with the second season of "007: Road To A Million." The format has been changed up a bit, with now eight pairs directly competing in Bond-inspired challenges for the chance to win a million pounds. The producers seemingly listened to our issues with season one and made some efforts to bring more Bond into this game show, but is that enough to ...
We have our second ever author interview, this time with past guest Dexter Ingram, talking about his first book, "The Spy Archive: Hidden Lives, Secret Missions, and the History of Espionage." We talk through his inspiration for the book, research process, and what all of our favorite parts were. All proceeds from his book go to support IN Network, a nonprofit whose mission to inspire yo...
Yes, it's the one of the least talked about James Bond movies, possibly due to the name. Roger Moore's second to last outing, wherein 007 takes a trip to India and then East and West Germany for some fights, flights, and nights (with women). This 1983 picture is definitely a product of its time but there's still a lot to say about it. Listen in for more.

Straight out of South Korea it's Operation Chromite, starring Liam Neeson and Lee Jung-jae (aka the guy from "Squid Game") as a South Korea spy infiltrated into occupied Incheon to pave the way for a surprise Allied invasion that can turn the tide of the Korean War. Hilarious dubbed dialogue is just a bonus in this action filled exciting romp.

A movie event 30 years in the making! Yes, it's the final (for now) Mission: Impossible movie starring Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, and Hayley Atwell among many other familiar faces. With the impossibly long running franchise coming to a conclusion, do they manage to stick the landing like Ethan Hunt does in all of his stunts?

...James Bond returns to the video game world after more than 10 years (not counting that Cyper 007 mobile game), and The Spy-Fi Guys are back to take a look at the first announcement trailer! The guys discuss the look of the game, the new Bond actor, and what they hope for from the game. Whether or not they will actually have the time or right game systems to play the game is another quest...

It's the most divisive Spy-Fi Guys yet as both the characters and the hosts have very different perspectives on similar things. Yes, it's 2002's "I Spy," clearly a product of the early 21st century, starring Owen Wilson as a secret agent and Eddie Murphy as a boxer turned spy. Will they get along and save the day in the process? What do you think?

Never heard of 2012's "Shadow Dancer," starring Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson? Neither had the Spy-Fi Guys, but they found it still worth checking out. In Northern Ireland 1993, a single mother plays both sides of the IRA-British conflict in order to stay alive and protect her son. Currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

Coming straight from the world of "Star Trek: Discovery," it's the long awaited (or dreaded) Section 31 movie starring Michelle Yeoh. The entire Internet has been dunking on this movie for the past two weeks, and now it's the Spy-Fi Guys' turn! The movie is streaming on Paramount Plus.

It feels like a made for TV movie, but it isn't. It's the Fourth Protocol, starring Pierce Brosnan and Michael Caine as spy versus spy with a homemade atomic bomb up for grabs. Does Pierce expand his acting range? Not especially, but he's a great bad guy. Guest starring Chris aka British Bond Addict.

It's back to Midway Island with the remake of the World War II classic, or as Christian calls it "Pearl Harbor 2.5." With this new installment, audiences can thrill to the Pearl Harbor attack (again) and the Doolitte Raid (again) the Battle of Midway (again). The CGI is as rough as the Pacific Ocean, but the characters have heart. Guest starring ZJ.

Possibly the greatest, most iconic James Bond movie of all time, it's Goldfinger starring Sean Connery, Gert Frobe and Honor Blackman! This film has excellent villains, a killer theme song, and an engaging story only marred by some dated portrayals of women. Guest starring Andrew Hammond of the International Spy Museum:

The Spy-Fi Guys return to the world of military intelligence with "Midway," a movie appropriately enough about the Battle of Midway early in World War II. Charlton Heston is a fighter pilot/intelligence chief with a son who wants to marry a Japanese-American woman. Despite this interesting plot turn, the movie tends to focus on the battle itself and not so much the drama. Guest starring ...
It's Global James Bond Day again, October 5th, and to celebrate Christian invites his best friend on to talk space shuttle engineering and NASA history, while Zach struggles to remember one of the goofier entries in the long running 007 franchise. This movie is notable for the return of Jaws, a classic Bond girl with a suggestive name, and a pigeon double taking. Guest starring Kan.

It's back to the 1990s this time with The Spy-Fi Guys. Although "The Rock" starring Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery as James Bond(?) and directed by Michael Bay is thought of as more an action movie rather than a spy movie, there is decidedly more spy fiction, if not spy fact, than one would expect. Guest starring Lance.

It's a cult classic starring Sam Rockwell as Chuck Barris, the creator of other classic game shows like "The Dating Game," "The Newlywed Game," and "The Gong Show." George Clooney directed the biopic of his life in which he battles mental illness while creating hit TV programs and moonlighting as CIA assassin. Okay, that last part isn't actually true. But the movie, featuring an all star...
It's a combination of two Hollywood pretty boys in 2001's "Spy Game," a movie that feels incredibly post-9/11 without actually being one. Robert Redford mentor's Brad Pitt while dodging CIA executives in a tense time traveling thriller that takes our heroes from 1960s Berlin to 1980s Beirut and beyond. There's even an international incident with China tacked on at the end. Not one to be ...
