(00:39):
the literary literature book space.

So we're gonna go ahead, get to it, I said.
Everybody else who's looking, y'all already know who it is.
Y'all already know who it is is. You know what
I'm saying. Ashley Colping was good.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
With you, which I'm doing good. First all, thank you
for having me. I'm like a little a.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
Little shy here because this is my first radio interview
so bear with me, Bear with me, but excited. I've
got a lot of things going on. So it's been
a good week and I'm just looking forward to the holidays.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
So okay, well, you're giving us a good gift. What
I'm saying, Like I said, step mom Blues. You don't
get it on Amazon, Tech type Shop and Godria dot com.
So let's start off with what is step mom Blues?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
So step mom Blues is something that I've been working
on for a little while now. It's something very dear
to my heart. It's basically a little bit about my
life growing up with me having a stepmother, watching how
you know her and my mother interacted, how my father
was involved with that. I saw a lot of drama

(01:47):
growing up that really affected me and just how I
am now with me actually becoming a step mother to
two of my own. Also, it also speaks about me
and my divorce from my ex husband and how he
remarried and how I have to co parent with you
know him and now my kids having a stepmother. So

(02:10):
it's just like me and like going through you know,
the different variations of stepmoms, and so I just kind
of put something together that was close to me because
my dad had passed away, and when my father passed away,
I you know, saw how it brought my mom and
my stepmother together, and I just kind of want to
spread the word, you know, just about trying to co

(02:31):
parent and how it affects kids and not waiting, you know,
till the last minute minute to try to repair those
relationships and or making those relationships rather. So anyways, it's
all in my book, and you know, I put a
little bit just about like spirituality and just how you know,
God can help you with those things and so hopefully

(02:54):
it can touch a lot of families and you know,
just bring some people closer together.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
So it's something that's hard with step being a.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Step mom harder.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
What is harder with being a stepmother for me, I
think in the beginning, was just looking for acceptance of
just like from the children as far as like am
I doing enough or as far as like, you know,
I have my own kids and them seeing me with
my kids making I didn't want them to feel like
it was any difference in the love. I just wanted

(03:24):
them to accept me for the you know, the mother
that I am. And I think that was like the
hardest thing for me because in the beginning it was
kind of like who is this woman that's kind of
coming around? And in the beginning it can kind of
throw you off, but you know, overall, just you know, patience, praying,
and just you know, kind of just letting it kind

(03:46):
of flow naturally.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
So I think that was the hardest thing for me.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
Is as bad how step dad's get it. Can you
know how kids always be like you ain't my daddy?
Like do you do you get that type of like
energy as well?

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Like I felt like I've only had that instance one time,
and it was actually when they got a little bit older.
I've been in my step children's life since they were
like one and a half two years old, and they're
now we're talking about thirteen and fifteen, so I've been
around for a very long time.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
And uh so, and just for this record, you don't
look like it by the way I'm saying, like you
saying that.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Like what, I have a twenty year old So yeah,
we're going.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
To edit that out so nobody know what I'm walking
with you.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
But yeah, no, I had that moment was like you
ain't my mom And I'm like, oh hey, wait at okay,
you know, you got to take that in and you're
just like, Okay, you know, technically I'm not your mother,
but you know, I have been there for a while.
So a lot of the things that you know, I
feel like I've kind of like instilled in them is

(04:48):
like you know what, like you know, I did do
some of that because I see some of their you know,
my mannerism, my mannerisms in them, and I'm like, oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
So okay, rubbing off, rubbing off on the right way.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
So I saw also as well as that there's also
a coalition that's associated with this. So how are you
working on bringing the step moms together? And when all
y'all step moms together were saying what a been is
going to be?

Speaker 2 (05:11):
So yeah, I'm working on a step mom Blues coalition
that is going to be at the beginning top of
the year in January, which I'm really excited about. And
it's just more so just bringing us women together, not
even just necessarily step moms, but the actual mothers too.
Because my ex husband's fiance or you know, whatever you
want to call it, met her and I became really

(05:32):
close and so it's something that you know, she can
be a part of as well, Like it's just like
for all of us to kind of come together just
you know, sharing our stories, being there for each other.
I want to set up a lot of things where
maybe the kids can be involved and us interact and
just you know, just I don't know, just bring us
together and you know, show people that it can become

(05:55):
a beautiful thing, but also talk about the bad things too,
and you know, because there's a lot of craziness that
comes with it. So you know, I'm working on that
and putting that together. I've got a couple of applicants
that want to be co founders and I'm working on
a team and I'm building that. So if anybody is interested,
you can email me at stepmom Blues at gmail dot com.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Okay, no doubt, No doubt, And some of the crazy
stories is going to be in the book as well.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
I'm assuming I ain gonna want you.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
To get guys, we're gonna give We're gonna give away
opened up about my life and a lot of the
things that I experienced and witnessed.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
So it's definitely in the book.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
So okay, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Make sure that you get it on Amazon, her Tikes hot
Shop and gods Drip dot com. So are you like
a lot of people used to be on Twitter and
then I guess Trump got in the office, however they
feel about that, and everybody just off Twitter for some reason,
you know what I'm saying. So I have a game
that I used to you normally play called what the Tweet?
I haven't really seen you on Twitter? So why how
did you do? How to do something on I GA?

(06:55):
Which is super funny because the way this is said up,
I'm just gonna let everybody know this is not planned.
So this is super funny right here that I'm about
to do. So you tweeted something and zaying I'm glad
that you hear. By the way, you know what I'm saying, because.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
It's it's it's, it's, it's I love it. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, you just rock with a work. I know it's awkward,
but just rock real quick. So you tweet you you
posted on I G. When y'all find my husband, let
me know famous out now, make sure.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Y'all go get that. By the way, famous, get Lise
and get that.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
You know what I'm saying, Video out now, Liseying will
not be outside for a long time. Now, what that
what now now?

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Now? What was that exactly?

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Like?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Is he gonna be on punishment? Because I know why
you said. You know what I'm saying. Is it wintertime?
So he's not gonna be outside because it's cold.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
I'm saying, Funny, we had this discussion earlier. I was like,
I said, your guys want to be in the house.
I'm sorry, I say, like, your guys want to be
in the house now because it's cold.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Do all that snuggling.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
So when summertime hit, you like trying to be out
on them streets like I spent all that.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Time with you over the holidays. They try to like,
you know, sweeten you up, fatting you up. I'm like, nah, bro,
I missed out.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
I missed out.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
I missed out on the what do you call like
the boo love? You know what I'm saying that what
I missed out on? That know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
So no, Zame, listen, if Zane's been doing this stuff
in the industry for a while and Zanet be outside,
it don't matter if it's cold raining, it could be
he's outside he's outside.

Speaker 4 (08:22):
Is he outside or is he outside working?

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Both?

Speaker 4 (08:25):
I know what you're talking about. Outside.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
That's what do you call it?

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Working?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Now?

Speaker 1 (08:30):
He dropped that new music video and I was like,
where'd you feel missed? Where was was that? Sleep?

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Like? What dope video video? By the way, you know
what I'm saying, Like like if you like, yeah, yeah, yeah, man,
what we'll talk.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
What we'll talk a doghouse because of that video. So
I think it was worth it.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Like, hey, look, let's look y'all heard him he said
he's I'm talking to the camera. He said, he's in
the doghouse. Get the streams up on that video. I
know it's on YouTube. Whatever, make it. Make that good
video that he just did, well, well worth it, you
know what I'm saying, Because we don't need him to
be in trouble for no reason.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Oh, you know what, it's crazy though I do support it,
you know, like I know what it is, like he
has to do the music and the videos and stuff.
But sometimes I gotta like just kind of give him
a hard time to let him know, like to let
him know yeah, and.

Speaker 4 (09:16):
Just try to care. I mean, I know it's been
how long have been together again?

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Eleven years? It's going on twelve.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Oh yeah, So and Zay's been doing this thing for
a while, so you know what I'm saying. So we
already know you know what I'm saying. It's all love,
know I mean so speaking of just y'all dynamic whatever, know,
I mean so zaying you've been in the public I
for like a very very long time.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
How about you?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Like, is this love and hip hop thing like your
first time like actually on TV?

Speaker 2 (09:40):
So I've dibbled and dabbled in a little behind, like
with some movie stuff, like kind of like small role
type stuff, but like TV, this is Yeah, this is
all new to me.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
This is so new to me. It's it's a whole
other world.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
It's a whole other world.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
I was just going to ask, like, so, how how
is it? Like do you are you?

Speaker 3 (10:00):
I know a lot of people in the cast don't
watch it at all, though they would be like oh,
like I'll DM them or tweet them like hey, that
was crazy what happened?

Speaker 4 (10:06):
Like I don't even know what.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
You're talking about, like I'm talking about this. Then the
that they ain't even watch him like damn, that's crazy.
So like, how is it like watching your life just
being broadcast on like the TV?

Speaker 2 (10:17):
It's it's hilarious because I before this, I was so like,
I'm that homebody type girl, Like I'm like, uh uh,
like every once in a while you'll catch me outside
and other than that, like Georgia is just different.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Like I'm I'm I'm Midwest girl. Shout out Kansas City.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Oh gonna get the We're.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Gonna get there, were gonna get there. I say that
to say, move into Georgia. You know, I've lived a
couple other places, but Georgia's just a whole different world.
And I was like, oh, it's a little different out
in these streets out here. So for me, I'm just like,
I'm chill. He brought me out here and I'm like,
are you go do your thing? B Zane, be who
you are.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I'm chill.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
And then now it's like I have to kind of
force myself to be out there, which is but I
mean it's different. Being on TV makes it crazier because
now people are recognizing me when we go places and
I'm like, oh lord, you know, and I'm not that
dressed up kind of I'm giving me some cowboy boots.

Speaker 1 (11:11):
I'll put on a bonnet.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I'm out these streets like leave me alone. So now
it's just a little different watching myself on TV.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
It's like.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
I just said that, Oh lord, why oh, like you know,
you gotta You're like, oh my god, I can't, can't
erase nothing. It's just it's just there for the world.
And I just, you know, kind of went into it.
I'm gonna be open, honest, nothing to hide, put it
all out on the table. In my mind, I was like, oh,
I'm gonna go here, I'm gonna make some friends. It's
gonna be fun.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
And I was like, oh, wait a minute, Ah.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
This is not what it's kind of you know, it's
a whole different ball game. So I'm adjusting to it.
But as far as just like the staff and everything,
they really embraced me. They've been really good to me.
Anything I need the supportive. There's counseling available for me.
So you know, when you get those tweets and you
start seeing people talk that, I'm like.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Oh, hold on, well y'all have y'all have counseling and
classes with like or that type offer to you.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
So it's like one of those things when going in
we talk to a couple of people to make sure
that you're just mentally ready to be on TV.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
You have to go through an evaluation like they want to.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah, they want to make sure that you're not gonna
jump off the deep end because there are people that say.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Things in the media.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
You see things on TV that you know, you know
they edit and stuff, and you're like, you got to
be able to able to handle that. So they definitely
prepare you for it, and they definitely guide you along
the way, I.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Mean the way some people aga seem like it must
not be a past failed, like just take the test
and whatever happens just happens.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Because some people be off the deep end no matter.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
What you know.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
But there's still help out there.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
There's some of us that it's in us.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
And uh so I was so I wanted to ask
you too, like what's something that we saw that wasn't
exactly what it really was? Like you know how you
know you're watching TV and it's like that didn't happen
exactly the way that it was. You know what I'm saying,
something that's like small or whatever.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I think one of the biggest misperceptions that have been
displayed or on the on the show right now is
that I had a real relationship with his baby mama, Michelle.
That was my first time meeting her, so I kind
of felt like that wasn't shown or expressed or explained.
So that was my first time me like sitting down

(13:34):
with her in eleven years. So it was I think
a lot of people thought that we had like talked
and there was a lot of you know, conversation and
it's kind of like.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Oh, why didn't you diet it done well?

Speaker 2 (13:45):
You should have said this, And I'm like, I just
met this lady, Like it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
So yeah, okay, okay, nice little TV magic that they
had to.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Whip up and put on you.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Okay, right, all.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Right, no doubt, no doubt. So you said you were
a Midwest girl. I'm saying what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I am a mid West girl. Born, born in Kansas City,
pretty much raised. I did live in Germany for five
six years, so, you know, but went back home to Missouri.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
That is that is my home.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
Okay, Okay.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
I lived in Florida for some years. That was with
my ex husband. But yeah, k City's home.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Yeah, man, Because when I saw that you was, you
know what I'm saying, repping the cheese. I know they
was out here in the a. You know what I'm saying.
You was outside.

Speaker 1 (14:27):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
I don't wait no, because likeuse what that game we
almost got.

Speaker 4 (14:33):
To Oh no no no no no no, no no no,
that's not my team. No no, no no.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
You guys you got, you got, you got, you.

Speaker 4 (14:44):
Got stole you gouts stole something from us.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
You know what I'm saying, Oh, you're you're you're hurt.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Y'all done took our coach, Hey you can, and then
met our brother and then made him like the greatest
coach of all time. You know what I'm saying, I'm like, dang, Andy,
we couldn't get none of that love from you.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
No, I mean, y'all done.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
Took our run Backshady McCoy, even though he didn't getting
no yards in the game, but y'all done gave him
a ring like that was our guy.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Like I work with this older lady, she's from Philly
and she boy.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Between her and then one of my other.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Coworkers, he's a Bills fan boy.

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Y'all be hating on.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
The Chiefs so bad between the Eagles and the Bills,
I can't deal.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
I've done with y'all. I be showing love to y'all.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Though when y'all not going against us, I be rooting
for the Eagles, like.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
No, no, we appreciate that because we don't. We don't
be hating.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
But it was just when at that particular game, it
was like we we almost had, y'all.

Speaker 4 (15:36):
We almost had y'all know what I'm saying. That is
what they y'all say, But this.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
Second place is the first loser.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
It very is. You know what I'm saying. We're gon
we're gonna be back this year.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
But with that being said, though, so like this year, y'all,
y'all been having a lot of like like had the change.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
How the Chiefs giving you a heart attack? This year
all the time?

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Oh, this year is absolutely but I'm it don't even
it's you. He lives with me, he I am. I
am a crazy fan like I wanted Tom, Like I
start freaking out, Like it's always like that, even on
days where I know I'm like, okay, we got this,
Like I've always been like that with the Chiefs, you

(16:14):
know what I'm saying, Like even when we were the losers.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
You know what I'm saying. Now we're the winners. It's
it's more intense.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
But I feel like there's a lot of pressure on
us this this year especially, you know, with us, you know,
the three peat. But I feel like, you know, I'm
always gonna be stressed out. It don't matter, Chiefs always
gonna stress me.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
So what's more likely you guys don't make the super Bowl?
Mean y'all don't make the super Bowl, or y'all don't
three peat. What's more likely to happen?

Speaker 1 (16:44):
We're gonna three pat We're gonna win the super Bowl
this year.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
Justfy, y'all. Absolutely, just want to just want to make sure.
Now I want to ask this too. So you're from
Kansas City obviously, like you said, born and raised all
of that.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
So we go back to your social media. Let's say
during the.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
Alex Smith years, am I gonna see some Kansas City
drip on you? You know what I'm saying back in them days?

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Okay, So he don't realize.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
I want to make sure she and a Bandwagon fan?
You know how that be? You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Okay, don't let me call Angela. Oh no, I was
born into this. My first starter jacket was Kansas City
Chiefs My first snowsuit was Kansas City Chiefs. You're talking
about if you're from Kansas City. I can only explain
this for people who are from Kansas City. If you're

(17:37):
born there, you have no options in this.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
You are, You're in it.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
You know what I'm saying. It don't matter if you
win lose. If that's one of the craziest stadiums. My
mom still lives right down the street from it. You
can hear the roaring from home, Like Arrowhead is nothing.
We die hard, it don't matter.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (17:57):
Does that translate to all Kansas City sports like the
Roys and I think I got a soccer team out
there and all that.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Right, but we do have a soccer team that they're
building a women's soccer team right now. But you know
we don't have basketball or nothing like that. But yeah, yeah,
absolutely anything Kansas City. I'm there, Okay, Fine, it don't matter.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
I'm I'm rooting for Casey all.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Day, Okay, no doubt, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
No. I mean, so I'm not that type of person
like a Cowboys fan that's going jinx and to be
like I'll see you in the super Bowl but.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
We'll be outside.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
I would be very satify as from Dallas I have.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I'll have that conversation with some other people. We're trying
to be positive, you know what I'm saying, because I ken't.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
