Was it to Europe, or oh, it wasno, not Afghanistan, it was
Albania.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yes, Europe.
We went to Albania andSwitzerland.
Yeah, both highly recommended,Both on the opposite end of the
affordability scale.
Switzerland's pretty expensiveand Albania is damn near free as
far as US citizens mightconsider.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
So you get into Albania, you hit the nightclub,
you're there 10 days, yeah, somore than 10 days.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
You need more than 10 days.
I basically toured the entirecountry give or take, yeah, so
more than 10 days, you need morethan 10 days.
I basically toured the entirecountry yeah, give or take.
So started off in Toronto, which is the capital, which is
where like 75% of the country'spopulation is in Toronto,
beautiful city, or?
Yeah, it's a really nice city, really nice, really inexpensive.
People were friendly, peoplespoke English.

(03:24):
Nice setup Big town square.
They really worked.
People were friendly, peoplespoke English.
Nice setup big town square.
They really worked on theinfrastructure lately.
Everything was amazingbeautiful natural beauty.
Highly recommend it.
I think anyone can do itwithout much trouble.
There's no cost barrier to gothere.
The flight will be your mostexpensive part, but I was

(03:44):
getting penthouse suites modernfor $40, $50 a night, like on
the beach looking over the oceanor looking over something
amazing and it's pretty crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, I think folks don't have Albania on their
bucket list, but you'rerecommending it Is that?

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Highly recommended for the culture, for the natural
beauty, for the food, for thevariety of adventure, for the
variety of things you'll see.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Highly recommended, listen, let's take a quick
little break here, pause for thecause and come back.
When we come back, we're goingto talk a little bit about this
Thanksgiving.
You got plans for Thanksgiving.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I do.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
We're going to get into a little bit about what to
do when you get hit with thoseawkward questions by your family
members for Thanksgiving.

Roughly.
If I'm singing along with itthe words, I can do it.
If I'm not singing along withit, the words, I can do it.
If I'm not singing along withit, I'll be so you're gonna just
freestyle for us then?
Uh not today I'm not gonnafreestyle today.
I don't know, man, I'm sureyou're not in that mode.
You have the anointing if youguys are freestyle fans.
Harry mack on youtube is themost amazing thing I've ever

(05:39):
seen yeah, he's off the top,he's off the rip.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
But you know, the number one rule of broadcasting
or anything is, when you'repromoting your own brand, don't
promote someone else's brand.
But no, shout out, it's notthat serious folks.
So listen.
We wanted to get into how toavoid those awkward
conversations at Thanksgiving, those ones where they're asking
you about the person you brought.

(06:03):
You ever did that you everbrought somebody new to the
table.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I don't know if I ever brought anyone new to the
table.
That definitely wasn't thefirst introduction.
You don't bring somebody to theholiday.
It could have been depending onthe timing of things, but I
think the for me that's neverbeen the first introduction,
right?
I feel like I've mostly almostalways brought somebody to
Thanksgiving throwdown.
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
So there's going to be those questions and awkward
moments.
So you got to be able to haveyour one-liners prepared, like
how to reply.
You have to have yourone-liners prepared, like how to
reply.
I'm wondering what do you dowhen someone does dig into the
personal zone on Thanksgiving?
How can you sort of lightlydismiss it without upsetting and

(06:55):
creating tension, Becausefights go down?
It can create chaos.
Thanksgiving can get you knowwhat I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Yeah, luckily I've never had or been a part of or
witnessed a Thanksgiving verbalaltercation, but when wine's
involved, when in-laws areinvolved brother-in-laws,
sister-in-laws, mother,father-in-laws-in-laws, mother,
father-in-laws I feel likeanything could be game.

(07:21):
Luckily, my situation, like thefamily's all been cool.
There's no fights or arguments.
Um, also, I feel like peoplehave enough tact not to ask
anything too awkward and I feellike it's easier to respond to
those things if they're comingfrom a good place, as opposed to
just prying or being nosy ortrying to stir something up

(07:41):
right, right, but we got to arm.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
The people that are around might be caught up in
those situations, so so how doyou answer the question?
So, are you seeing anyone?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
um, if you're not sure if it's serious or not,
probably a good way to do it islike oh you know, I'm I'm dating
or keep it vague.
Um, also, I don't know if theolder generation really
understands current dating.
In these days and times tounderstand, like, what that
means.
Um, dating is a whole brand newball game these days where, if

(08:16):
you're not attached to someone, dating multiple people at the
same time or sort of on and offis like there's so many
different scenarios these daysthat I think the older
generation didn't necessarilydeal with.
So when they're asking ifyou're dating someone, they're
mostly asking if, do you have aboyfriend or girlfriend or a
partner?
And I think it's a lot morecomplicated than that these days

(08:37):
.
In a lot of situations, ifyou've gone on a date with
someone two or three times, you're not necessarily going to
sit there and talk to yourfamily who you don't talk to
about this stuff, about oh yeah,I'm dating somebody, this and
that.
Keep those things vague at thetime no-transcript to basketball

(09:10):
.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
You know what I mean.
Talk about drop step.
Yeah, just drop step.
Some other topic, you know whatI mean?
Uh, uh, when they start askingabout couples, they're putting
pressure on you to, you know, tie it out or whatever A
possible response could be.
You know we're enjoying ourtime together, taking it one

(09:30):
step at a time, something likethat, right?
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I mean, unless they're really prying, that's a
sufficient answer right there.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Or you can tag team Like you redirect to your
partner.
That's a good strategy, noteven just about Thanksgiving
awkward situation.
Just tag team.
Yeah, just tag team Pivot toyour partner Also.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
They'll probably be a little bit less aggressive
towards whoever you brought thanthey would be towards you,
because, especially, they're notgoing to be as comfortable with
that person whatever.
So yeah, dishing like a littleno look off to the side might be
the the route to go how aboutif they start critiquing one's
career, lifestyle or cooking?

(10:11):
um, there's definitely somebodyin my life who has been very
critical of me, my brother, mycousins, lifestyles, jobs,
choices, whatever.
Um, sometimes you just let thatgo.
Or if you're feeling up for, uh, a bit of a conversation or

(10:32):
you're sort of tired of all thatstuff, like you can always push
back if you're successful or ifyou're doing what you love, you
don't necessarily have tojustify that to anybody.
It might not be what, what, what they would choose, what
they'd want you to choose, butit's not really up to them.
Um, I mean, there's definitelya family member that's more

(10:55):
critical about those things thatwe've had to deal with, but
we're all confident in who weare and what we've chosen and
what we're doing.
So I'm more outspoken than most, so I can sort of hold my own
in that situation.
Some people decide just not tosay anything.
Other people, you know, speaktheir truth, I guess yeah.

(11:16):
So I don't know what do you doin these sort of situations?

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I mean if you have a partner there with you.
I think you know if thesituation is getting heated, you
know you ask your partner tostep in for you.
You know, or you can just dolike you said I'm happy with my
choices.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
You know and you should be happy for me that I'm
happy with my choices you know Imean, yeah, I mean not
everyone's trying to make a tonof money, not everyone's trying
to, you know, get a prestigiousjob.
You know, I mean people havedifferent priorities in their
life on what they're trying toaccomplish life goal wise, or
what makes them happy, or likewhat gives them enough time to
be with their partner, whatgives them enough time to be
with their kids.
Some people sort of sacrificetheir family lives and like

(12:00):
valuable sort of wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, kid,
niece, nephew time for their joband they're working 70 hours a
week, 80 hours a week, making aton of money.
Some parents might applaud that, saying, wow, you know, they're
making money, they're, you knowthis, the, their ceo of the
company, they're, they're, youknow a partner, this and that.

(12:21):
But like some parents mightapplaud, hey, you know, this
person has chosen their family.
This person has chosen theircommunity.
This person has chosen theirchurch.
This person has chosen theirchurch.
This person has chosen someother thing to put their time
into.
This might be more rewarding tothem than a paycheck or a title

(12:41):
or prestige or whatever thatcomes along with it.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Yeah, so, to sum it all up, pivoting you know,
passing it to your partner orhitting them with some humor.
I think all are ways to diffuseand keep that Thanksgiving
dinner.
You know one that's, one thatyou can enjoy your family,
without you know getting in asituation Stirring the pot.
Yeah, without stirring the pot,all right.

(13:07):
Well, t-clef, thank you forstopping by, ty.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Clef Ty, clef T-Chisel.

Speaker 1 (13:15):

Folks, we appreciate you.

the homies, play some golf, some football or some games.
Shots up before the big meal.
Yes, sir, oh, you got abirthday coming up too.
That's right, my wife'sbirthday.

(13:36):
We're celebrating that next, assoon as we hop off this podcast
, and then next week.
Happy birthday Jane.
Yes, we're going to bring inHappy birthday Jane and bring in
T Chisel's birthday.
We can talk about all that andmore in our next segment.
