Are you using lead magnets in your business? Today, I want to talk about something that’s essential for anyone looking to grow their brand or business -- creating a lead magnet.

So, what exactly is a lead magnet? It’s a marketing tool that offers valuable content or services to potential clients in exchange for their contact information. The main goal of a lead magnet is to encourage your target audience to engage with your brand and enter your sales funnel. This ultimately leads them back to your email list which is crucial to have when building your business because it gives you ownership and control over your audience.

But, lead magnets are also not just about collecting email addresses. They can also showcase your expertise and demonstrate the value that you can bring to your audience. Think about specific problems that you can solve for your audience  and create lead magnets that address those issues.

I give you some examples in today’s episode including some of my own such as my banned hashtags on Instagram in 2023! The KEY to any lead magnet is to provide value and be easily accessible to your audience. Lead magnets should be easy to digest and offer quick wins for the audience, making them more likely to engage with your brand in the future.

Creating a lead magnet doesn't have to be overwhelming! Here are some quick and actionable ideas:

  • Checklists or Cheat Sheets: These are valuable for bloggers and service providers. Examples include a checklist for fall clothing trends, a checklist for virtual assistants, or a checklist for photographers during their first shoot.
  • Templates and Frameworks: These could be a five-step framework for getting kids to bed on time or a framework for making candles.
  • E-books or Guides: These can provide more in-depth information on a topic and can lead to upsells or free discovery calls.
  • Video Tutorials and Webinars: These can also be used as lead magnets, but webinars should be scheduled within a week to ten days of sign-up to avoid losing potential leads.
  • Free Trials or Samples: These can attract the right audience.

Once you've created your lead magnet, it's important to promote it. Place it on your website as a pop-up, header, or footer, and promote it on social media platforms. Instead of directly promoting the lead magnet, use the topic of the lead magnet in your social media posts and direct people to your link in bio. It can also be mentioned in blog posts or when guesting on podcasts.

Offering something unrelated to what your audience actually wants can lead to a lack of interest and engagement. Attract the right people to your email list, those who are genuinely interested in your offerings and likely to become clients.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
