The Episcopal Church's Sunday lectionary is a list of readings from the Bible that are read during public worship. The lectionary is based on a three-year cycle and includes readings for Sundays, Holy Days, and special occasions. The lectionary consists of four readings for each Sunday: a reading from the Hebrew Bible, a Psalm, a reading from the Epistles, and a Gospel reading. The lections are organized by the seasons of the Church Year, which reflect the life of Christ. The lections are divided by theme rather than by the books of the Bible. Each week, Reverend Dr. Kathy Hulin presents the upcoming readings for Sunday.
Old Testament: Amos 8:4-7
4Hear this, you that trample on the needy, and bring to ruin the poor of the land, 5saying, “When will the new moon be over so that we may sell grain; and the sabbath, so that we may offer wheat for sale? We will make the ephah small and the shekel great, and practice deceit with false balances, 6buying the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals, and selling the sweepings of the wheat.” 7The Lo...

1After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Do not be afraid, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”

Vanity of vanities, says the Teacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.
I, the Teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem.
I applied my mind to seek and to search out by wisdom all that is done under heaven; it is an unhappy business that God has given to humans to be busy with.
I saw all the deeds that are done under the sun, and see, all is vanity and a chasing after wind.
I hated all my toil...
Old Testament: Genesis 18:20-32
20Then the Lord said, “How great is the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah and how very grave their sin! 21I must go down and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me; and if not, I will know.” 22So the men turned from there, and went toward Sodom, while Abraham remained standing before the Lord.
23Then Abraham came near and said, “Will you indeed sweep away the ...
