The Switch Clicks Podcast has journeyed with you for just over three incredible years,

(00:03):
and it's been an honor to have you with us throughout this time. However,
we've reached a crossroads. After much reflection and consideration,
we've made the decision to sunset the Switch Clicks Podcast. While this marks the end of
a cherished chapter, it also signifies the beginning of something new and exciting.
But fret not, because this isn't a goodbye, but rather a transformation. We are shifting all our

(00:28):
creative focus towards our YouTube channel, where we will be producing a series of meticulously
crafted scripted content covering the games we love that we believe you'll adore. This new chapter
will allow us to have more fun making these videos and collaborating more than ever than we did on
the podcast, because let's be real. Behind the scenes, we are diligently crafting comprehensive

(00:50):
analyses, thought-provoking opinion pieces, and maintaining our commitment to hosting and engaging
community events like Triforce Trivia. As a sneak peek into what's on the horizon, October promises
an insightful exploration from me into the evolutionary journey of Super Mario's art style.
It's gonna be very good, I promise. Moreover, the highly anticipated Zelda month is just around the

(01:12):
corner, promising a captivating celebration of Tears of the Kingdom. We are incredibly grateful
for your unwavering support over the years. Your feedback, comments, and enthusiasm has been our
driving force, and we're excited to embark on this remastered journey with you. Stay tuned for updates
on our YouTube channel and other platforms as we transition into this new era of content creation.

(01:33):
We are confident that the best is yet to come, and we can't wait to share it with you.
Thank you for being an integral part of the Switch Clicks Podcast's incredible legacy,
and we look forward to continuing this adventure with you in our new format.
This is filmed like a YouTube apology video. We're like energetic, he's like super emotional.

(01:56):
Gotta love the jarring, jarring. What a roller coaster. It literally is a roller coaster.
We didn't get the, what's it called, breath in. Yeah, we didn't get the shot where we go up to
the camera, turn it on, step back. No, no, what we do is we pet the dog off the stage, and they'll
hear the chairs moving. Sit down quietly. Wait, that's actually kind of good.

(02:22):
You guys ready to record? Yeah.
Welcome to the final Switch Clicks Podcast, episode 155. Today we'll be reflecting on the
entire Switch Clicks Podcast journey, highlights, guests. My name is Dakota, and for the last time,
I'm joined by Kaiser. Hello. Nathan. Hi. And Tyler. Hello. What an amazing final episode.

(02:49):
And just to clarify, we're actually all here in person again. Yeah, second time. The second
time and the last time that we'll be doing this. True. That was for a podcast. The first time we
had it. We might record for like a video in person, but. First time we had it with all our equipment,
by the way. Yeah, the first time we had a little microphone in the middle of my car, and it wasn't
great, honestly, but you guys still watched it, and we're grateful for that. So we've kind of

(03:12):
collected all the guests that we've had previously, so I guess we'll make comments. I'm not sure what
we could discuss about the guests, but we'll make comments about that. We love you guys. As well as
we'll be scrolling through all the previous episodes and kind of reminiscing on how far away some
topics were. Considering some of the topics, it's been like three years we've done this. Yeah.

(03:34):
It doesn't feel like three years. By now we're burnt out. I mean, not really considering how many
YouTube videos. The workload probably won't change that much, all things considered. Yeah,
but at least we're not restricted by COVID anymore. So we actually don't see. No more
road art, right? We don't got the road art. Who knows? Maybe once we're making like a million
billion dollars and we'll just start the podcast up again, but that's like a set. COVID too.

(03:58):
We're skipping straight to three, all right? Oh, skipping. You heard it here first folks.
The Switch Clicks podcast are planning eco-terrorism.
Because it's hilarious, all right. That's our future endeavor. That's actually how we're ending
the podcast. Yes, we're ending a podcast by following it through with eco-terrorism.
So we've had many guests over the past three years or so. It's been a little more than three

(04:24):
years, I'd say. And we thank you all for joining us on this wonderful journey. One of our first
guests here is Femc Grim. You'll find her all on Twitch now. And she has been our first guest,
and I believe our last guest so far. That's crazy. Is that the first and last?

(04:46):
Yeah. She's been here for a couple of episodes as well as a Play it by Tier review on, I think it
was Fire Emblem Three Houses. Oh yeah, I remember drawing that. Yeah, that one was a really fun one.
And I think that once she joined, she wasn't a Twitch streamer yet. I think she was working
with me as a moderator on the Zeldapedia Discord server. Those were the days.

(05:13):
And she's also good friends with Thinkifer, who is another early guest that we had.
Unfortunately, scheduling prevents us from meeting with Thinkifer,
because halfway across the world, differences and whatnot. But those were really good times.
And I do hope that we can collaborate with these guests eventually in the future.

(05:34):
I'm slowly realizing how little of the guest episodes I was actually on for.
Yeah. You're maybe on for two.
Yeah. One or two. But it's still a pretty neat experience meeting everyone.
It's still a pretty neat experience meeting everyone. For reference, those episodes were
episodes 7, 11, and 17. Yep. All discussing mainly Age of Calamity, because that came out at the time.

(05:59):
And our second chronological guest, I'd say, is Angelo Vitale. He is now a journalist at Screen Rants.
He also used to work with me on the Zeldapedia Discord server.
Yeah, you can see where we were siphoning. Siphoning off from the Zelda community, casually there.
Love you guys. Well, that's true, because so many people have came from Zelda creators now.

(06:22):
Yeah, we've been, our channel, even though we've been all around, you know, superhero movies,
Nintendo content. Oh yeah, those are not coming back, by the way.
I don't think I officially said it. I'm not doing those anymore.
Much of this focus has been on Zelda, because we've done Zelda Month, we've worked with Zelda
creators, we've gone to Zelda Creator Con. We're not a full blown Zelda channel, but you know,

(06:44):
we're kind of... Honestly, we're close.
We're close. It just so happens that most of our, some of our content is on that section.
Yeah, the heart is video games, the soul is Zelda.
The soul is Zelda. Even though only one of us here is actually a real big...
Unfortunately....like Zelda fanatic.

(07:05):
Yeah, I think I said this a few podcasts ago, but I said that I'm a Breath of the Wild fan and not a Zelda fan.
I play my fear shows, though, the games that just are outwardly...
I beat one game, and that was neither proper.
I can't believe you cheated, come on. Oh dear.
That's definitely what happened, yeah. I still have to get you guys for that, then.
And even though I said that we're not a Zelda channel, we did participate in the Zelda Creator Con.

(07:30):
There's a lot of wonderful people there that we met.
Sure, sure, sure. We've done a lot of our Triforce Trivia quizzes there.
Well, for the first year we didn't do Triforce Trivia, we did our
How to Create a Community Around the Things That You Love.
I wasn't even there.

(07:50):
It was meant for me and Nathan to be there because Nathan works on the Zelda Wiki Discord,
and I don't know, it ended up not happening, so me and Tyler tried to do it.
Oh wow. That was a rough panel.
Not good, not good.
Mind you, it's kind of cool because Buff Hestue was in that panel, he was listening,

(08:11):
and he also asked probably the most questions out of anybody.
And then four months later, him and other creators, they were like,
him and other creators created Zelda Creators.
So we are an integral part of that origin story.
Ah, yes.
And you know what, they actually turn out to be our next chronological guest.
Yes, speaking of which.

(08:32):
Kicking off Zelda Month, was it 2021?
2021, yeah. Kicking off Zelda Month 2021, we had Buff Hestue come aboard
and also representing Zelda Creators.
That was a wonderful experience with him.
It's a shame I turned into him and his brother.
Him and his brother disappeared into the ether whenever Zelda Month turns around.

(08:53):
Yeah, and we got to see a bunch of his works.
He was really, well, him and his brother were really well known for the comics that they worked on.
And if anyone, to all of our surprises, he's done all those comics with just a finger
on a tiny mobile phone screen.

(09:15):
I didn't know that.
It was all finger art.
It wasn't like any pen.
It wasn't a tablet.
It was just, you know.
Daddy and play.
Could not be me.
Tiny phone screen.
I am pampered.
Finger.
That was amazing.
He even drew a funny, him and his brother worked on a comic to promote Zelda Month.

(09:36):
And they just so happened to choose a certain bird character in there
as part of someone who's getting screwed over in favor of joining our podcast.
And that actually aged really, really well as the really good secrets.
Well, I'll get to that later.
In between our final guests and Buff S2 was two artists or two cosplayers.

(10:02):
The first one was Cloud.
Cloud is really well known for a lot of the, what do you call it?
Expo, like the expos and convention cosplays.
Oh yeah.
Like you'll see them everywhere.
I know one of the best looking ones in my opinion would be their Sephiroth cosplay.

(10:26):
They managed to get the long hair, the actual full set of armor.
And I think they even got a good sized Mass Immunity sword.
And they go by Cloud.
They go by Cloud.
Yeah.
Interesting.
On the episode, they also discussed their Bayonetta cosplay.
Yeah.
And I don't know if they updated it for Bayonetta 3.
I haven't seen yet.
We have to get the hair back and take a look.

(10:48):
Get the hair down.
Yeah, the hair's got to go back down again.
And braided.
Yeah, braided.
At least it's not as bad as the first one, I'd say.
The first one is very tough to get down.
Oh that's true. You have the weird whole headdress going on.
Yeah.
The practicality is nowhere.
Bayonetta 2 is just easy. You just chop all your hair off.
Chop your hair.
Bayonetta 3, you grow out that chopped hair.

(11:10):
Yeah.
Pretty easy.
Pretty easy.
I mean Bayonetta 2 looks shockingly like my mother and it's very strange.
That's amazing.
That sounds amazing.
After Cloud, we got to meet with Lee Kovacs.
She is a Nintendo brand ambassador and a cosplayer for Nintendo.

(11:34):
She appeared on, I think, a couple of Nintendo Minute episodes.
Is that right?
Yeah.
Even after our interview, I think she showed up at least one more time.
Yeah, that was crazy.
She also did a bunch of official, like, was it, well, both cosplay and, I guess, model work for Star Wars.
For certain games like Diablo 3, Ganondorf.

(11:57):
At like reveal events or like, what do you call it? Startup events?
Yeah.
The first day, day one events essentially.
Launch days.
There you go.
Yeah. So that was pretty crazy. It was wonderful meeting her.
And we got to learn a lot more about this type of environment that they get to go through working with Nintendo.

(12:20):
As a Nintendo brand ambassador.
Yeah, it's quite different than your typical content creator or other game publisher at that point.
Super interesting.
Yeah, Kaiser joined us pretty late.
I believe February after this Zelda month, I believe was.
Now, to cap off this Zelda month, we had a wonderful guest here.

(12:44):
And he has gotten many, many roles in a bunch of animated works.
A lot of animes, a lot of video games. Everyone knows him.
He's done a lot of voice dubs from Japanese.
And we know him especially for characters like Diluc from Genshin or Ravalli from Zelda.

(13:06):
Dakota, you want to name some characters?
Well, you got Great Deku Tree.
The Great Deku Tree.
Of course, Breath of the Wild again.
I think Bruno from Joji's Bizarre Adventure, part five Golden Wings.
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah, only you would know that.
I remember that one.
He is the Subaru in ReZero.
I still have not finished that since then.

(13:29):
He's a character in Persona.
I don't remember the character's name, though.
Yeah.
And I think that's all the normal ones I can think of.
But those are definitely his more famous ones.
He's still...
Oh, he was Spider-Man in the Avengers game.
Oh, yes, Spider-Man in the Avengers game.
I'm sorry, but I think he's from Guilty Gear.
Even though that game was rough, that's still a pretty crazy experience.

(13:52):
I think everyone's figured it out by now.
It is Sean Shiblock.
Yes.
I'm so sad I missed that episode.
It's still kind of cool that sometimes I can kind of flex to my friends
or my cousins that play the game.
I'm like, hey, I interviewed that guy.
You know he will go after you if you keep bragging about that.

(14:12):
I don't brag, but I'm like, hey, that's Sean Shiblock.
It comes up.
I don't just say it.
It just comes up out of random conversation.
You don't just go out of your way to say it like, oh, no, I met Sean Shiblock.
Sure.
Sure.
And for those who are wondering, those are episode 57, 58, 59, and 60.

(14:34):
They are branded Zelda Month.
Yep, Zelda Month.
Yeah.
That first Zelda Month was a lot more stacked than I remember, than I thought it was.
Considering how big our podcast was at the time, yeah, that's stacked.
That is, I mean, oh, it's probably because we didn't do Triforce Trivia with them.
I wasn't in Zelda Month 2, but I got a good sense of who they were for the hours of editing

(14:59):
their Triforce Trivia.
So after that year, we kind of just went through the year normally,
going through all our own stuff.
I think we did Zelda Creator Con again, this time with Triforce Trivia, right?
Yeah, that was our first time doing Triforce Trivia.
Okay, yeah.
We had many people show up, which was exciting.

(15:21):
And I can't confirm this, but I believe it was one of the bigger events of the con,
because we did have more than like 10 people in the chat at a time.
That was a pretty big quiz.
Yeah, that also happened to be on my birthday as well, which was pretty special.
And the feedback was very good.
People enjoyed it, even if you didn't participate, if you're in the chat,
you could kind of like mentally play with each other.

(15:43):
So that was really cool.
And we got to meet a bunch of new people because of the Zelda Creators,
just a separate thing from Creator Con, was kind of full speed ahead at that point.
Yeah.
For example, we participated in their...
What are the little dudes?
Koroks?
The Koroks.
Their Koroks.
Oh, March of the Koroks?
Yeah, March of the Koroks.
And that was cool.

(16:03):
The first year they did that, that was very cool.
I believe they got like 300 Koroks in, if I remember correctly.
One third of all parts of the world.
Yeah.
So that was pretty cool.
I've seen the different art styles people would do.
It was interesting.
Did you submit that spider man?
Yeah, I did.
It's like, I think it's in more corners.
Spider Korok got in there.

(16:25):
Yeah, the Zelda...
I mean, I already mentioned it, but the Triforce Trivia is my only contribution to Zelda Month,
being the editor for the YouTube videos of those.
Probably should have done more, and there is an upcoming Zelda Month,
which I also don't think I have any plans to help with.
So, who knows?
But, yeah, I enjoyed doing all that.

(16:47):
I still think the first Triforce Trivia is still the most viewed one, correct?
The second one is the one that's getting the most consistent views,
and will probably surpass the first one pretty soon.
That's not...
Is that the one you edited, or like...
That's the one I edited after the success of the first one.
Yeah.
Which is weird.
I don't know what the algorithm just likes that one more.

(17:09):
It might be the thinking link in the thumbnail.
Could also be the people involved in that one as well.
I mean, I think those are technically the scraps.
Yeah.
Not to be offensive, but...
I think I was...
Yeah, it was a long stream,
only so many people could get in the first one, so the second one makes sense.
I think it's still my best intro to this as well.

(17:32):
To the Triforce Trivia.
But if you look back, it's kind of a low bar.
So, it should be easy to beat.
True, true, true.
I think we also worked with Fem C Grim on the Fire Emblem Three Houses review that year, I think.
Yeah, sometime around there.
Sometime around there.
It was during the Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes announcement type of time.

(17:55):
Yes.
I was going to review that game because I was actually interested in it,
but then I never got down to playing it.
And to this day, it is still Kaiser's only video outside of the podcast.
What even does that happen?
I'm super fraudulent.
My bad.
It was almost forceful, the game that he would know, so...

(18:17):
Yeah.
Go, Fire Emblem Boy!
Go on, you do your thing!
Okay.
Wait till the day the Engage review comes out.
I'm going to rip Engage apart.
Oh, I'm going to rip Engage.
It's just...
You two are going to go on a big argument in that review.
I'm neutral on Engage.
In that review.
I as much as...
That's the Risen Blue Hair one, right?

(18:37):
Yes.
Yes, it is the Colgate...
Sorry, the Awful Fresh Hair.
Colgate, Pepsi, there's a lot of things you can do.
American Flag.
I'm so sad that there was no FE4 remake announcement.
That was one of the rumors.
Yeah, that was one of the rumors for the directs.
I'm not surprised.
Yeah, no, it said we got Mario vs. Donkey Kong.

(18:58):
No, Mario vs. Donkey Kong clears, alright.
I'm actually excited for that game because Mario vs. Donkey Kong is actually a great game, alright.
Well, I mean, are you excited for Diddy Kong and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
New Main.
Yeah.
New Main?
You were pretty enthusiastic about Diddy Kong.
Diddy Kong is great.
Yeah, of course.
Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong, Diddy Kong.

(19:20):
True.
Okay, there you go, now you got all that out.
Callback.
Waiting for Funky Kong.
You're holding all that in?
I'm a Funky Kong guy too.
Well, Ereva loves Funky Kong because of Mario Kart Wii, how he has the highest speed stat, right?
They're gonna nerf him like crazy in Mario Kart 8.

(19:41):
Of course, because it's more standardized, right?
It's now karts.
I mean, yeah, it's not more karts than characters.
Well, characters still kind of matter.
Waluigi Wiggler.
Like everyone for some reason plays Yoshi.
Everyone for some reason still plays Yoshi in Mario Kart 8,
which I think has to do something with his weight.
It's mostly weight class also.
It's mostly weight classes, right?

(20:04):
Outside of that, weight class is not even specific character stats, right?
Yeah.
It's just weight class.
Weight class plus the karts available to them.
Anyways, that was off topic.
That was off topic.
Big Mario Kart feature.
Later throughout 2022, we got our second Zelda month celebration.

(20:26):
And our first guest was Mokiwe.
This was the one interview that Tyler was actually in.
I was here.
I enjoyed that one quite a bit.
It was a good artist to artist discussion there.
I mean, compared to her, I'm a wee, I'm a little guy, I'm a little baby man who doesn't do anything.
But you still ended up downloading some stuff from her, right?

(20:47):
Or at least getting tips, probably mentally.
Tips did help.
I know how to do grass better now because of her.
Yeah.
So that's helpful.
Do you still touch grass though?
We are outside.
We are outside.
I could take a little step.
This is the closest we ever recorded to grass.
So okay, I guess we get points for touching the deck that connects to the grass.

(21:09):
Something that's touching grass.
There's a little playground here, so I'd probably get a frolic in there.
I guess we got to get points for that.
Anyways, Mokiwe was this brilliant artist who just had so many different art styles,
or at least she wanted to experiment with different types.
And I think she mentioned...
Great work ethic.
Really great work ethic.

(21:29):
I think she mentioned in post-secondary, she kind of took vastly different fields of arts,
but now she kind of incorporated all of that into her drawings,
which is really amazing, by the way.
Any of the viewers here, just please check her out.
And yeah, she did give a lot of good tips to Hylr.

(21:51):
And then the second guest of Zelda Month that year was MelonSpeedruns,
who is a very well-known modder in Breath of the Wild,
and I assume now it would be Tears of the Kingdom as well.
Maybe we'll go with some.
Yeah, I haven't heard from him in a while,
but it'd be nice to go talk to him again.

(22:13):
He had some wonderful insights on the modding community at Breath of the Wild,
and that's where I learned how easy it was to mod compared to older Nintendo games.
Yeah, it's all about the file structure, why not?
I don't want to get too much into it,
but basically you just have to substitute stuff in order to get the mods in,

(22:34):
and there's a certain cap of things that you could add into it,
or otherwise the game would freak out.
And I think he said he'll be getting into Tears of the Kingdom modding.
I haven't looked into it yet,
but I would be very excited to try those out if I have the chance to.
And then our third guest of that month was Aaron Grubb.
Not Aaron Grubb, sorry.

(22:55):
What's his name?
Aaron Grubb.
Was it Aaron Grubb?
Yep.
Okay, Aaron Grubb.
Yeah, I was confusing with the leaker Jeff Grubb.
That's fair.
Aaron Grubb, he's a musician, he does a lot of covers, especially for Zelda music.
He is very amazing at his work.
I know we tried...

(23:16):
Did we ever do a collaboration with him on any videos?
Leaked, yes, but we never ended up putting out the video.
Sorry.
Sorry, Aaron.
I think it's fine.
We were too ambitious.
Too ambitious.
Our eyes were bigger than our stars.

(23:39):
Well, another cool thing about Aaron is that he is actually a photographer by trade.
I think that one photo they shared with us where he's carrying a keyboard.
His profile photo.
His profile photo, yeah.
So he had a very interesting way of taking that photo.
I think it was in one of the rooms in his house and he had to put a black background

(24:00):
and two lights and he had to stand on something and take the shot.
And he had the two lights on the side, they were different colors, so he had to balance that.
It's like those TikToks where they were throwing flour in the air and from their camera.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
And he had the smoke.
Yeah, and he had the smoke as well.
So that was a lot of work, but it wasn't even professionally done.
It was a compromise, but he did it so well.

(24:23):
And I still follow him on Twitter, so I get updates on what he's working on.
Shortly after that interview, he released an album of just random video game covers,
not Zelda related.
Pretty good.
And it was all amazing.
There are still songs that I'd like to see on those random video game ones,
but I think currently he's working on his volume four of his Zelda covers.

(24:47):
I'm so excited for that.
And he's looking for recommendations, so check out his Twitter.
Yes.
Or X, if that's what you want to call it now.
Yeah, that's cringe.
After Aaron Grubb, we had another Zelda podcast.
I think it was just David Geisler coming on.
Yep.
David Geisler from another Zelda podcast coming up.

(25:08):
We did half of the episode on his podcast, and then he later came onto the second half.
And I think we were ranking Zelda trailers.
Yes, we were.
Yeah.
So that was a pretty cool thing.
We were almost at the same...
We almost had the same options for the upper half of the list,
up until the very top, where I think he voted for...

(25:31):
What's it?
Twilight Princess?
I think it might have been the Twilight Princess review.
Twilight Princess review and reveal, and then you and me did the Breath of the Wild 2017 trailer.
Yeah, the Nintendo Switch presentation.
Yeah.
Still my number one, even after the Tears of the Kingdom marketing toll.
You know what?
I might actually be getting... I might actually be a Tears of the Kingdom

(25:57):
trailer three fan.
Drama.
It's like so close.
As a saxophone player, it hits me personally.
I think the music hits a little bit harder with the Tears of the Kingdom one.
But the emotions behind the Breath of the Wild one just hit so much harder.
That is true.
The things that they say...

(26:17):
Zelda Crying?
Zelda Crying.
What's the thing that the king says?
You're ready to hear what happened 100 years ago, next to when they peeked the music.
What happened 100 years ago?
Holy crap!
Camera pans out and you see the whole world of Hyrule.
That is so hype.
I've never had that happen in a trailer before.
And you know what?
Recently I watched a YouTube video.
I don't know the guy's name, but his little avatar is a black bird in his very well-made video.

(26:43):
I don't remember his name.
But he essentially did a whole video about how perfect different trailers can be.
And his number one example was that Breath of the Wild trailer.
And he dissected it so perfectly.
And then two weeks later, that Zelda trailer, the new Tears of the Kingdom one came out.
And he's like, this is exactly what I wanted.

(27:03):
And he dissected that one too, in terms of editing.
And it was incredible.
The stellar J?
Probably.
If it's a black bird.
We need to collab with him.
Are game trailers getting worse?
Yes, probably.
That's what the game... yeah.
The level of editing that guy does for his videos is insane.
Make me want to do more.
Yeah. It keeps me engaged the entire time.

(27:25):
It's like ADHD brain.
Buy ADHD for ADHD.
Our final guest for that Zelda month there was Jess Rappaport, also known as GoldenChaos.
She was the creator of Zelda Wiki.
And she's also the webmaster of Zelda Universe.

(27:46):
And I think she also does a lot of other side projects as well.
I think she's... well, she's gone to a lot of conventions lately.
I know she did the Zelda Universe panel at PAX recently.
And I think she's...
I think they went to both PAXs.
If I'm not wrong.
Yeah, she went to both PAXs.
Yeah.

(28:07):
Did she go to Gamescom?
I just know I see her tweets a lot.
Yeah, she is really active on Twitter, X, threads as well.
Yeah.
I haven't opened that.
I haven't either.
I also want an again notification from Nathan that he tagged us in something.
I'm really going to be a lizard, bye buddy.

(28:30):
I don't even know if I can... can I even retweet or rethread?
Yeah, you can repost on threads.
Didn't even know that.
Yeah, it works the exact same way.
So just gave us a bit of a history lesson on how Zelda Wiki was created.
There's a really interesting thing there.
There was also talk about what happened at conventions.

(28:53):
Because they were like...
They had what do you call it?
Those review copies of games and they also had special access to conventions.
So there's a lot of stuff that we didn't really expect to happen.
That actually happened.
I think they even saw a bit of an early glimpse at an upcoming Zelda game.
Yeah, that was...
Link Between Worlds?

(29:13):
Link Between... was that Link's Awakening?
It was a remake game that they saw throughout through the curtains.
They saw the logo.
So it was probably Link's Awakening.
It was either Link's... no it was probably...
It can't be Link's Awakening because they didn't really show that anywhere special.
It was Link Between Worlds.
Did Link Between Worlds get a remake?
No, it was just the new release.

(29:34):
It's a sequel?
It's a sequel to only kind of spiritual sequel.
Yeah.
One of the only Zelda games I played.
I just know it's during the 3DS era for sure.
Okay.
During that Zelda month we also did two events.
Unlike what we normally do.
We did a...
Gartic Phone.
That was the Gartic Phone, dude?

(29:54):
Yeah, Gartic Phone was Zelda Creators.
Yeah, we did Gartic Phone, Zelda themed.
You can check our Twitter for all of the highlights of that.
You scroll so far back.
You have to scroll so far back.
It was still very cool.
You can even probably go to the Zelda Creators Twitter and scroll slightly less than you would on ours.
And then we also did Triforce Trivia again.

(30:16):
And that was equally successful.
People showed up.
Even people that have already tried.
And this time somebody actually did win.
Unlike the first time.
I don't think they got into the video though.
Apologies whoever that was.
I think there was plans.
There might still be a video.
Like I want to do a first person to win kind of video.

(30:37):
But a lot of the questions were just not very...
She got a lot of repeats.
Oh yeah, because we had a bit of a technical difficulties there.
That one time.
That was actually...
Zelda Creator?
Credit Con this year.
Credit Con?
Oh yeah, yeah.
I don't think we had any guests afterwards.
Other than Zelda Creator going to Zelda Creator Con.

(30:57):
Kaiser was a guest.
Yeah, that was a pretty wonderful journey with all these guests.
Definitely very Zelda-centric I'd say.
Like...
I don't know, I think we just fairly missed...
Like all the Smash Bros stuff we...

(31:19):
Like we...
I think we started in the DLC era.
Yeah, like the pot...
Popularity was already waning on Ultimate.
And like it'd still be cool to do a review of it one day.
But also I don't know who's going to watch that at all.
Who's going to watch a review of Smash Bros Ultimate like...
Not a decade, that's way too over exact.
Like four or five years after the game came out.

(31:41):
It's five.
It's five years.
Okay, then like seven years after the game came out.
Time flies.
Time flies a lot.
And just now I'm getting my last amiibo.
Yeah, you're just getting the Sora amiibo.
Coming up.

(32:03):
That Zelda CreatorCon, closer to this year.
We did two events.
We did...
Zelda...
What do you call the game where you look at the names...
Or not names.
You look at the words and try to connect the words.
Oh!
It was a spy game!
I forget what it was!

(32:24):
Spy Master or something.
I don't think it was Spy Master.
Codenames!
We did Codenames and then we did Zelda.
Tri Force Trivia.
Now the time was a little bit scuffed.
But...
Something will be back.
Something will be back.
We'll redeem ourselves for that little mishap there.
I think I'm personally playing on something else than Tri Force Trivia.

(32:46):
But it'll still be a slightly trivia game show.
Yeah, it's running its course a little bit.
There's only so many questions we can ask.
And so many videos we can make.
Basically used all our questions in the last one then.
I think we have a total of 19 rounds.
So that means we have nearly 200 questions.
I...
I think I have like one question that I put into that list.

(33:10):
And I didn't hear it when I was editing.
So maybe that one? I don't know.
I think it was because we used the wrong copy of the quiz that we had.
For anybody that was there, you know that we had some technical difficulties.
And we couldn't use a visual for half the questions.
But I found out it was because I wasn't logged into OneDrive on my laptop.
And to update the file, you need to be logged in.

(33:31):
Even though you edited it fine, perfectly.
I think editing salvaged it a little bit.
I think that was the one where I pulled up cardboard cutouts.
Yeah, for the last two questions you pulled up cardboard cutouts instead of putting stuff on the screen.
It was only the last two. I don't know what happened.
The animation happened. It dwindled.
Oh, no. I just thought it would be funny. To be fair.

(33:53):
I was like, well, it's all falling apart and getting discussed.
So I might as well reflect that in the editing.
So that's all the guests.
Now I'm going to kind of scroll through and name some notable episodes that happened.
We can start with our remare.
Yeah, technically, so episode one was completely basically unedited.

(34:14):
If you go back, we sound much younger and more scuffed.
Yeah, we were recording. I was recording off of a Chromebook.
I was hiding in my closet with my phone.
You're embarrassed. That's an ad.
Yeah, so that video, we unfortunately chose the wrong music to start it off.
And that's why we. Yeah, this is now the uncopierated music from YouTube.

(34:37):
If that's even going to last 30 seconds long, I don't know why it made such a long intro.
Yeah, it kind of covered off our voices as well.
I could not fill that void, so I just had to go with pod.
Like it's not the worst. I think our voices sound similar. We just have worse setups.
We just had worse setups back then. We should have even worse setups.

(34:59):
Okay. I just remember we talked about like games we liked and then.
Oh, we talked to Mulan. We talked about Mulan, Disney Plus and Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
And Pikmin 3 Deluxe because that was recently announced at the time.
We also had. Whoa, okay, I do sound worse. That's crazy. Oh, boy.
That's me. That just might be all of us.

(35:20):
Actually, mine doesn't sound that bad. Yeah, no, I sound horrible.
One of our retired hosts was actually on there. His name was Devin.
We never really got time to schedule a podcast with him, unfortunately.
But if we were to get him back on. Just fabricate a story about how we had a horrible falling out.
Off screen. No worries. We're still really good friends with him.

(35:43):
He did go to Fan Expo. He did go to Fan Expo this year with the rest of the Switch.
I was actually away. I was actually on vacation. Yeah, he took my spot at Fan Expo this year.
Yeah, because you're a fraud. Oh, I don't know.
No, I actually was in Hawaii at that time. Wow.

(36:06):
Supporting their economy. Okay. Wow.
I was paying the money for League of Legends. We're actually the villains in this.
No, no, no, no. We have to be even more evil.
We have to skate people after money. Okay. That's what we did at the con.
Anyways, that would be our very first episode.

(36:27):
That was the most random, that was a really random experimental type of thing.
Yeah, probably for the best that we went to more topical.
Technically that was topical, but talking about Mulan on Disney Plus was not so bad.
I don't even know how we talked about anything.
I don't even think most of us watched it.

(36:48):
No, that was coming out. I was the time when it was coming out and they were charging people for pure premium access.
I'm not going to do that anymore. Oh, yes. That's true.
That was a really dumb decision. We should have put like, okay, nevermind.
We should have put like a big red circle pointing to her and we just put some vaguely sexist thing and then it gets like a million views.

(37:10):
Oh yeah, incredible. We should have been aggressively anti-woman in that episode.
Podcast would be so much more sexist.
It's such a shame that we're all not sexist.
Anyways, enough about women's rights. Let's talk about women's wrongs.
For example, Fortnite. We talked about a Fortnite episode 3. Black Ops Cold War was announced in episode 5.

(37:40):
Oh, Super Mario 3D All-Stars was episode 6. That was a really exciting time.
Yeah, and that's actually our second most downloaded episode on podcast.
Wow, that is insane. So random.
Very shortly after that whole direct that happened, Nintendo Shadow Drops, a special game or trailer for a special game.

(38:04):
Hybrid Warriors Age of Calamity. Everyone thought this was a prequel to Breath of the Wild.
Now is our seventh episode. We invited Angelo and Fem C onto our show as guests.
I think I only found out it wasn't a prequel to Breath of the Wild in like episode 120 something.
I was like, damn, this game sucks.

(38:25):
This game sucks.
That's my seal there every game.
Coming from the guy who goes, how many hours is it? 250 hours.
I think it's up to...
I hate this game so much.
I can tell you right now it's higher than Tears of the Kingdom. Still higher than Tears of the Kingdom.
Well yeah, I expect so.
It's just pretty high there.
That's a lot of stuff we were speculating on. That was still the time when we had garbage setups too.

(38:51):
I was basically uploading an episode when we could. There were two to three episodes a week.
So it was so inconsistent.
We did not have a consistent schedule back then.
That's interesting.
This is example number one. The September 2020 Apple event breakdown.
I remember. That was like our first massive flop.
It has 50 views now, but it's got like one view for like a week.

(39:14):
I don't know why I would ever thought that would ever work.
Two weeks later, Among Us 2 was cancelled, so I discussed Among Us with Jay G.
Anyways.
What is V?
It's a wasp.
This is the biggest outside of the month.
It's gone.
They're pretty aggressive this time of year actually.

(39:36):
Because they're looking for food.
Let me just note that down.
41.55.
After that, we talked about Steven Smash.
We had the Zelda Theorist video about Age of Calamity. That's like the second longest one ever.
Geez, that was crazy.
Oh, and then right after that was No Way Home, right?

(39:58):
Yeah, this was actually a discussion about rumors.
Rumors about No Way Home.
I do remember that one.
And there were rumors that Doc Ock would be in it and all three Spider-Man would be in it.
That's also one of the more popular ones that were downloaded on podcast episodes.
That one did pretty well when it came out.
And it turned out to be true.
All of it.

(40:20):
What we didn't predict is that the first half of the movie would be dog water.
I did everything dog water. I have to be Hater, okay?
I am dog water.
We'll let you be Hater on episode 15 where me and Nathan discuss the 30th anniversary of Fire Emblem.
Yeah, that was before Kaiser existed in our...
We're existent.

(40:42):
Yeah, Kaiser existed.
I was willing to exist.
I'm part of the Switch Clicks multi-verse now.
I'm part of the Simatic universe.
Sorry, the audio universe.
The audio universe.
Alright.
We actually don't have a pure A video, but it's not as cinematic as I'd like to say.
Yeah.

(41:04):
After that was talk about Genshin Impact and what Zelda fans were thinking about it.
Yeah, that was at a time where I thought I would get into Genshin and I am so glad I didn't.
Me too, to be honest.
You would have no money anymore.
Sorry, Femsi, I don't want to offend you there.
It's going to be a while before I get into Genshin.
Well, there's a problem because Honkai Star Royale is my vibe.

(41:25):
Honkai Star Royale actually looks like a bitter game.
It looks sci-fi, it's like futuristic designs.
By next Fan Expo you're going to be living on the street.
Oh no.
Not even the street.
The streets are too good if he's in the park.
The sewers.
He would have to be a little Gremlin creature.
I could get my optic in the sewers.

(41:46):
Oh man.
Oh great, three loonies. I can buy another skin.
Alright, I have got enough rates of money to finally do a full ten pole.
You'll just be leeching off of the Wi-Fi from the McDonald's that's on the street above.

(42:10):
Hey, hey, you could be a Subway.
Subway Wi-Fi.
Subway Wi-Fi or Subway Wi-Fi?
Yeah, the actual TTC.
The actual TTC.
Oh sorry, leaked our location.
I think we said we were in Ontario multiple times.
Oh yeah, we've talked to ourselves many times there.

(42:32):
If we see it more times, they'll get closer.
Closer and closer.
I mean, Ontario's kind of big.
It's pretty big and half of it is pretty, pretty...
It's the most populated area in Canada.
That's true.
Good luck trying to find us.
Don't worry guys, we live in New York.
It's pretty much like saying that.
Yeah.
Don't worry guys, we're going to Cali.

(42:55):
Good luck trying to justify that.
But yeah, as the podcast continued, we slowly got better and more into the groove of things.
We didn't really reach that point yet.
Yeah, no.
Not this point.
We're doing it weekly now.
Oh yeah, so right after that...
Was it right after the Genshin episode?
I just know it was the episode after.
Crown Tundra, yeah.

(43:17):
We collabed with Femsy to talk about the Pokemon DLC of...
Oh, I remember it was there.
Yeah.
That's one of my two.
Yeah, that's one of your two.
One of the guest episodes.
Yeah.
In hindsight, that DLC garbage.
Pokemon DLC is crap.
I didn't even play the new one that came out.

(43:38):
I have yet to play it either.
I didn't realize it was coming out until the day after where I saw tweets of someone being like,
Oh yeah, download the DLC!
From like 24 hours earlier.
And like, oh, we finished the Pokedex!
Like 24 hours.
And I was like...
Oh, okay.
I don't know when I'm going to play it, but I will play it at some point.

(44:00):
I need my delicious slop.
Water?
So after that episode was the whole PS5, Xbox Series X scalping craze.
True.
Is it still... it's still kind of...
I know it's still kind of hard to find.
It's okay now, but...
If you want one, you'll be able to find one.
Yeah, like if you want one, if you look for it, then you'll probably...

(44:22):
But it won't be in Walmart.
It probably won't be like out on the shelves, but it depends on the store, really.
So we got Pokemon cards, we got Game Awards.
Oh, that did not age well in the past.
Oh, I remember the Pokemon cards.
You guys talking about Pokemon cards opening up to the point where you guys are actually doing yourselves.
Yeah, I started doing it myself.
Good job. Congratulations.
Well, luckily I found a good card out of it.
I have the... actually I have the one in the thumbnail, but not Rainbow.

(44:47):
So that's cool.
Game Awards one, cool.
There's nothing to talk about there.
Mandalorian, sure.
The How We Survived 2020 was kind of fun.
I think it's my favorite thumbnail.
Because I had to Photoshop a mask onto the cyberpunk guy.
And then you have Tom...

(45:08):
Timmy or Tommy, whichever of the two, holding a PS5 controller.
And Sova from Valorant.
And they're all burning in a fire of COVID viruses.
Oh, you actually see the COVID snare.
I think my favorite thumbnail might be... it's a more recent one where you're talking about Call of Duty and it's just a guy holding the Switch.
I just think it's funny.

(45:29):
Oh, yeah.
Okay, there's a lot to get through, so we gotta speed through these.
Yeah, so we talk about leaks.
We talk about...
Hey, that leaks.
Two out of three are real now.
Yeah, that's crazy.
Two and three is real.
The next Zelda is real.
Mario Odyssey 2 is not really out there.
Nope, we want to understand.
We talk about...
Oh, we talk about that one Reddit troll thing about GameStop stocks.

(45:53):
And it's all coming together because that's episode 27.
And now the movie is coming out in a few weeks.
Yeah, Dumb Money starring Paul Danow.
It actually looks kind of fun.
Yeah, then we talk about Netflix shutting down Zelda and Star Fox shows.
Which is weird because they never confirmed anything about that this many years later.
I hope they do something though.
I'm waiting.
With the Mario movie success, it's bound to happen.

(46:15):
It's bound to happen, yeah.
Oh, and what was exciting about that is right after that episode, we announced Play it by Tier.
Wow!
Wait, for real?
Yeah!
I didn't realize how close that was to the Splatoon 3 announcement.
Wow.
Yeah, that was actually right before the Splatoon 3 announcement.
We announced our Play it by Tier series and that is pretty much why we're moving away from podcasting.

(46:40):
That would be the downfall of the podcast.
The beginning and the end.
So Nintendo Direct happened after that.
That was like the first big Nintendo Direct.
No partner showcases, no game specific directs.
This was a real full blown direct.
And then we had our reaction after that and then our first Play it by Tier episode, Age of Calamity.

(47:01):
That was the first one.
That was the first preview because I think it lined up with the Zelda anniversary.
Were we going through all the Play it by Tiers?
No, we'll just skip them.
We'll just talk about them quickly.
Even though I do think Play it by Tier will definitely continue, but I think we also...
It's going to be kind of a... Originally that was most... It was Play it by Tier or a yellow extra video or Pokemon Card Open Aids, which we don't do anymore.

(47:28):
But rather than it being every non-podcast episode being Play it by Tier, really,
we'll probably be doing more things similar to Milk Inside of a Bag of Milk instead of a Bag of Milk, like video essay type videos as well.
So hopefully that's something that could be looked forward to.

(47:49):
Oh yeah, that's what I forgot to mention.
We kind of went through this weird arc right after that happened.
We went through a big Pokemon arc.
We had a couple podcast episodes about Pokemon, we had card openings.
I think there was even... Oh no, the reviews came after that.
Yeah, there were two podcast episodes. We had Pokemon Unite.

(48:11):
Oh my gosh, that was like...
And what we were theorizing they would do for Gen 4 remakes.
Oh man.
That's my age wall.
Man.
I want to go back so badly and say what we said.
Oh no.
This just sucks.
We discussed the Pikmin mobile game, Mario died, E3 died.
Oh dear.

(48:32):
Oh my god, I can't believe it.
LEGO Mario was announced, then Valve made a portable game console at the time.
We didn't know it was a Steam Deck.
Oh yeah, Steam Deck.
E3 happened, and then we said that we didn't want a new Nintendo Switch.
And then the next episode they announced a new Nintendo Switch, the old LED.

(48:54):
And then the episode after that, they announced a Steam Deck.
Yeah, that was a crazy... I don't know how we did that.
We set it up so well, so we created a back-to-back console.
Wow.
Sandwiched, right between all that jazz, is our LEGO World Review.
Oh my.
Intimously does so well for whatever reason.
I think everybody here is just a little bit salty that that video is doing the best.

(49:18):
I'm just sure some of the viewers were also salty.
Well, look at the studio, and tell me that LEGO World Review is awesome.
It's awesome if you actually have it. If you don't have it, then it's not awesome.
Everything is awesome, though.
Shhh. No.
I feel so bad for Dakota.
If it switched places with LEGO Star Wars The Complete Saga, and that was up there, I'd be so devastated.

(49:45):
You know what the funny thing is? Actually, the LEGO Star Wars review was right before the LEGO World Review.
I'm sorry, Tyler. Even though that was your debut.
I mean, I'm happy that it didn't survive.
I think we went back to Pokemon again.
Yeah, Pokemon, then Indie Worlds, and then the Game Boy games were announced for NSO.

(50:06):
A PlayStation showcase that we don't really care about.
Around here, I started doing the superhero movie reviews, which I think for the most part...
That was a pretty good era.
...are pretty decent. I'm still relatively happy with most of them.
I would do a lot of things different, but for the most part, I think they're all watchable still.
I think this is where we start to scrape the bottom of the barrel, where we have different interesting ideas.

(50:28):
This is where we did Indie developers that could reinvent Nintendo franchises, which was a cool video to make.
And I think it still could work.
That was the year of the Pokemon Review.
When did you come in?
It all feels awful to us to go back to the past.
When did you actually come in? Which episode was that?

(50:49):
I'm trying to find...
That was after Zelda Month that year, right?
No, it was Mario Kart. The Mario Kart video where we make Mario Kart 9 or 10.
So that's still farther ahead of it, isn't it?
Yeah, because we haven't hit Zelda Month yet.
Before Zelda Month, we talked about Smash and Sora.

(51:10):
We talked about the Mario movie.
Which we didn't know we were about to milk as hard as we were going to. But it happened.
Fandom 10 views! Let's go!
That, I hope, is not the worst one.
Oh, it's even with my Indie World showcases are kind of boring.
But those are the least viewed videos.

(51:32):
That's depressing.
Which Nintendo characters could survive a horror movie is probably still one of my favorite podcast episodes that we've done.
Big fan.
And that was right before Zelda Month.
Which I don't think we need to cover too much because the opening was quite a bit of...
I reviewed Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, Skyward Sword, Beach Calamity DLC, and Brook of the Wild.
Somehow Age of the Calamity DLC did the best out of those five.

(51:55):
Interesting.
How? I don't know. That game, no one likes that game. I mean, I probably don't even like it either.
Yep. Game Awards, oh, not Arcane yet. It was Best Shows We Watched, which the boat and I did.
That's where you did it.
That went to Arcane, which is probably up there still as videos.

(52:18):
Click you...
I also, you grabbing that made me look, and I am also a little low.
12 minutes and like an hour ago, it said an hour.
I'll keep an eye on it. I think I'll be okay.
Well, I think this is also...

(52:41):
Do you want to put a...
Yeah, I mean, if this last one's really long, who cares?
I think that's fine if the last one's long.
Last one, part one, part two.
And then we split the third one into two parts.
Oh my gosh.
Part three, part one, part three, part two.

(53:03):
Oh my gosh. Yeah, the finale.
We have like...
We ended like how Attack on Titan's done in the anime.
Okay.
But yeah, I don't think it's that big of a deal if it ends up being long.
So we ended off on a talk about Arcane, which really...
Which did well. It's probably up there.
I think that's the second most popular.

(53:26):
Oh, and then after that, we went on this whole Pokemon Arc again, and then we reviewed four Pokemon games.
We got a lot of Pokemon Arcs.
Yeah, so we did Pokken Tournament.
It's my yearly influence.
Pokken Tournament, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, Let's Go Pikachu, Let's Go Eevee, and then we all congol...
Well, I think we all came together eventually for Legends Arceus.

(53:49):
Yes.
We did a three-way video.
I want to do more of those. That was fun.
And after that, there was some...
There was a development update about Tears of the Kingdom.
We didn't know the title yet. That was the delay announcement.
Speeded through a bunch of reviews. We did this...
I think we had a couple of spin-offs, a couple of random games like Wii Sports and Wii Sports Club.

(54:11):
We never got time to do resorts for whatever reason.
New Pokemon Snap, Nintendo Switch Sports.
We talked about random events that are happening in movies and games.
A year ago, we talked about how the Fantastic Four would join the MCU and they're still not here.
That still has never happened except for one person.
I swear.
And then we talked about...

(54:33):
Oh, we had our collab with Femcee on the Three Houses.
The Three Houses, which means right next we have our first couple Triforce Trivias.
Yes, we had Triforce Trivias.
Yeah, which is still going strong.
This is still Pokemon era. A lot more Marvel videos than I remember being around this time.

(54:54):
Yeah, there's a surprising number of Marvel videos.
Some of those reviews are actually pretty crazy, too.
Let's see. Splatoon 3, the infamous dab on Plum Nail.
We did a music episode, which I unfortunately wasn't even there for.
Yep, that one was fun considering we did two more.

(55:15):
Dakota was really on top of things and he did a vampire survivors review while it was on its data phase.
Good on you, Dakota.
Bear and Breakfast, which I remember you...
Yeah, I was hyped for that and kind of disappointed by it.
Let's see, we've got a couple more reviews.

(55:38):
First, Objectively Correct Splatfest, the band of my existence.
Oh yeah, OCS. 11 months from this recording here.
We decided to do the second Splatfest, Earth Splatfest.
Technically the second one, the first one was beta.
We did the first in-game one. Gear Grub Fun, Splatfest 2 and 3.

(56:00):
That spawned our other mini-series on this channel here.
Foolishly decided to make it that I do all the art for those videos.
Because that... It's like...
Okay, it's two weeks to get this out. Go, go, go. Quickly.

(56:21):
It's crazy that they're giving us more time between announcements nowadays and we're crunching more.
Oh boy, two videos later.
This is when Smash Bros. movie The Full Cast Revealed came out.
Wow. That was really legitimate.

(56:44):
That is insane. It's still crazy.
The video that was in our pocket for almost a year.
Yeah, I believe I made that.
We made that video or brainstormed it the night they announced the cast.
Just me and Tyler at like 3am.
Then I made the graphics and video I think a month later.

(57:07):
We just kept it in our back pocket until they put out a trailer.
That was the strat. It ended up working.
We kept getting thumbnails on that video too.
We changed thumbnails a bunch to keep the... It worked really well.
I'm a little disappointed that it's our most popular video because it's not really like anything else.
But it's not a bad video.

(57:30):
We could do worse for our most popular video.
I'm happy that it is as popular as it ends up being.
That's the video that monetized us.
True. We're making 13 cents now.
It's going to leap back guys.
We're going to buy a school or two channel. We're going to get a wonderful setup.
We're going to buy a house.

(57:52):
It's going to play on the 4.6.
This is about the time it transfers into next Zelda month.
Yeah, so right between that we were kind of rushing out of...
We were packing our schedules there.
This is one episode...
Two episodes every week?
Or one episode, one play-up by tier a week.

(58:14):
Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday, Sunday.
I think Kaiser made an episode talking about Fire Emblem and Gage.
We're cautiously optimistic about that.
What do you think about it now?
It's a good game, right?
The story could be better, but gameplay wise it's great.
Especially coming from most of our games, right?
Yeah.

(58:35):
Especially since so much of it is based on...
Hey, look at all these characters, right?
We have Lee, Ferris Claus.
We have Zegluto.
We have Roy from Mario.
Honestly, that's a good game.

(58:57):
I'm not super keen on it due to mostly the map structure compared to some of the other games.
Not as creative or as engaging.
Well, it's...
I think he's sugarcoating it. It's crap.
Oh dear.
Gameplay is good, everything else is garbage.

(59:21):
I like it more at Three Houses.
So was there cautious optimism? Did your cautious optimism pay off?
It did. I didn't come in with high expectations or low expectations.
Yeah.
This is around Halloween again, which means Werewolf by Night came out, which actually didn't do that poorly.

(59:42):
But then we also had scariest moments in video games, which I think is up there as well with the guys from the Survival Horror movie.
What a terrifying thumbnail.
Oh my gosh, you really had to do that.
The frog and the kid and the guy in the top left.
And Herobrine.
But yeah, and then around that, because it's October again, we're getting into Zelda Month, which we covered again.

(01:00:08):
Yep, Zelda Month.
A good chunk in the opening.
I'm kind of surprised that Minish Cap did the best of those Light by Tears.
What a title.
Please play this game.
Great title.
Yeah, play it. Play it.
This is just around when I was trying to figure out our thumbnail style because we were moving away from the template looking one.

(01:00:32):
Yeah.
Coming out of that, we have How Did the Apes Escape, my first video that I just, I don't know, cobbled together in an afternoon because I thought it'd be funny.
No, you know what?
It's fine. I don't know.
I think it's pretty rough, but I got better later with my next one, which I think is my favorite video that I worked on.

(01:00:56):
That was still a pretty interesting, that was a really uniquely rated review too.
I think it had the sauce, but I didn't quite, I didn't have the sauce yet.
I don't know, we'll get there eventually. You'll get to do some crazy scripts maybe.
Yeah, I think so.
Spider-Verse coming out.
Yeah, Spider-Verse.
My first solo episode I think was the, was Every Spider Person, so that's something.

(01:01:20):
Oh yeah, that one.
Did you end up getting most of them right?
No, yeah, because I looked them up. I started recording without a script, realized I didn't know most of these, went through a Spider-Man Wikipedia page for like two hours, and then started recording again.
And then after watching the movie, did you look at the list again to compare?
No, I did not. But I had more information going into the movie, which is kind of cool.

(01:01:46):
Yeah.
But yeah, that movie's so good. I love the movie so much.
So, a couple videos later, we got Dakota's Milk Inside a Bag, Milk Inside a Bag.
True.
Probably one of our better videos out there. I like the darker-
Proper video essays that are fun.

(01:02:08):
It is a much darker tone. It's to the point where I couldn't even monetize it.
Yeah, so if some of you are familiar with YouTube Studio, they have that limited monetization type of notification there.
Yeah, so that was what-
Unfortunate.
That was a bit unfortunate.
That'd be how it'd be.
I've really enjoyed making that one, so I wanted to make one on the sequel. But the sequel, it's not as obvious in its storytelling, and you also have to beat it multiple times to get multiple endings and the point of the story.

(01:02:40):
I love Nuki Plus.
So, I didn't really want to go through it.
I love Nuki Plus Plus.
I just found it not as interesting as the first one.
Yeah.
Because this one is just like, okay, it's freaking crazy what you're doing.
It's awesome.
It's inside the mind of a kid.
Yeah.
So, it was kind of cool to break down.

(01:03:01):
You know what's sad? About later in this channel, we actually had a Fire Emblem engage episode without Kaiser.
Yeah, I think that was me and Tyler.
Yeah, my bad. I was dead.
It was like a week into me playing it.
Oh yeah. Emotional support, Tyler. Essentially.
Dude, you gotta play more Fire Emblem games. That's all I have to say.
Are you talking to me or Dakota?

(01:03:22):
Dakota.
Okay, well.
Those aren't my type of games, so I don't usually grab any towards them.
Let's see, what else we got? Nintendo Direct. Same thing, but Royale 23. That was a pretty interesting one, actually.
Not a ton of stuff. Oh, the Tri Force Trivia with all the guests. That was a fun one to create.
Yeah, we kind of released that one later on. It was from Zelda Month 2023, but we decided to slowly work on it.

(01:03:47):
Yeah.
This time for periods.
Is this when the Find Out to Freddy's video comes out?
Yeah!
Yeah!
Hurt, hurt.
It's kind of full circle, because we have the movie in a few months.
I kind of wish we waited to release it, because the movie was coming.
Sequel incoming.
Yeah.
I really liked making that video.
That was a really really fun video.

(01:04:09):
I think that's my favorite video on the channel, but I'm 100% biased.
Surprisingly, the comments got the fan joke.
We updated the fans every night.
Oh, and right after it's my favorite thumbnail.
I like how Call of Duty will work on Nintendo consoles.
After Price holding a face.
I just like that. It's so funny.

(01:04:31):
After Price holding a face, Nintendo Switch Lite with these...
He has such a stoic face.
It's very silly.
All he wanted was a coconut water.
Mmhmm.
Let's see what else...
Oh, I was flash banged by the weird Pikachu. Episode 125.
Yeah, there was a couple of them before that. We had a terrible Pokemon presence.
I forgot about that in the Pokemon Presents.
Why did they do that?

(01:04:53):
Weird CG Pikachu.
That was very weird.
Scary. Now look at it.
Maybe like Detective Pikachu type thing?
I don't know.
Geez, that was terrible.
We did another music episode on our favorite game music, because I think Kaiser really really wanted it in another episode.

(01:05:14):
Yeah, and I still think they're fun to do.
You're not a part of it, unfortunately, but I got your back with one of your favorite songs.
Yeah, Grand Finale.
Grand Finale from where Luigi...
It was crazy.
...goes up Bowser's Insight story.
Still does.
Yeah.
Oh, this next one.
Next video after that was our...
The first Nintendo Cinematic Universe, which is also up there.

(01:05:37):
This is quite beat up Lego Worlds.
And then we get Super Mario Bros. the movie from the 90s.
Yeah, I think that's like the only other Play-afy tier that we all worked on outside of Arsies.
That movie was awesome.
Good movie.
Good movie.
Good movie.
This is the Mario movie era.
I can't believe it.

(01:05:58):
Wow.
I've never seen that.
That's like five videos.
Yeah, so...
Excluding the Tears of the Kingdom video...
Yeah, that's actually six videos.
Six videos.
So excluding the Tears of the Kingdom video in between, the four of us got together to watch the original Super Mario Bros. movie.
And we reviewed it.

(01:06:20):
And...
Okay, we have time to...
Time has settled.
Is it better than the Mario animated one?
No.
I guess.
I might like it more.
Is it a better experience?
Kind of.
Kind of.
Is it a better movie?
No. It's a different experience and they're equally good.

(01:06:42):
Equally good.
Equally good.
Probably.
I think I think IKaiser is not really happy because Diddy Kong was not there.
I mean...
I don't think... I think that's a blessing. If Diddy Kong was in the first Mario movie...
They would have tainted Diddy Kong like crazy.
I mean, we got the... we got the monkey clip, alright?
We do have the monkey clip. That's true.

(01:07:03):
Monkey.
Right after the insane...
Monkey.
Twin towers clip that happened like three seconds before...
I'm sorry!
I forgot about that.
And then they just did...
After Effects...
Yeah.
Thanos Snap effect.
Oh, what a...

(01:07:24):
That was a...
Also that we also discussed what they could do for sequels, which they have not confirmed yet.
We also discussed what they can do for other Nintendo movies, which they also have not confirmed yet.
Mind you, there might be a live-action Zelda that they've been kind of pointing towards.
It's been possible to do live-action in anime.
Yeah, by Illumination no matter what, which is weird.

(01:07:47):
I think it's just Universal publishing it, not Illumination.
They never made live-action.
We had our second phase...
We had our second phase featuring Brie Larson as Samus.
Why not?
Oh yeah, that was the interesting bit because we had our second Nintendo Center Act in the first video.
Yeah.
Even the thing? Karen Gillan Samus in that one.

(01:08:08):
I think Brie Larson's in that one.
We personally had Karen Gillan as Samus.
And Charlotte Johansson as Dark Samus.
A little bad caster.
I mean...
Dark Samus...
I think we were just 3am.
We thought it'd be...
Because it's like partially what we want and also what would be like kind of out of touch and funny.
I think we got it pretty good.

(01:08:30):
They should bring Bob Hosk as back as Mario.
He'll be hilarious.
Pretty sure he's Ghost.
Yeah, he's back as a Ghost.
Ghost will be hilarious.
We still have two or three parts that we'd like to probably upload in the future in that series.
Maybe when the Zelda movie comes out we'll do part 3, 4, and 5.

(01:08:53):
Yeah, if that's happening.
Oh, I guess we're reaching Tyler era.
Where I had like 4 solo episodes in a row.
Almost a razor.
Oh yeah, I went to Japan.
And no one else was available.
I can't believe I talked about Tears of the Kingdom.
What?
We had 200 views!

(01:09:14):
You talked about Tears of the Kingdom but you're not even the biggest Zelda fan?
No.
I have not played the game.
You're busy.
I'm busy because there was a baby that...
We talked about Across the Spider-Verse actually.
Come back, I think you were back for that.
I was back for that.
The only ones I did were...
I complained about Open World Games, I talked about the FNAF movie,

(01:09:35):
and I talked about Tears of the Kingdoms, weird creations,
despite not playing the video game.
The Tyler arc?
The Tyler middle...
We're the ones who know it's the best era.
Weird.
What else we got here?
Zelda movie?
Yeah, now we're scraping the bottom of the...
We're back to Dry Spell.

(01:09:57):
Dry Spell but also modern day.
There's not much to talk about again.
Then the Direct came around at the time, right?
We talked about Super Mario Wonder and...
That was just the last Direct.
Hilarious.
That was Direct for this one.
Yeah.
A couple OCS videos placed in.

(01:10:19):
But I think for the most part that's...
That's kind of up to now.
Yeah.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel, we talked about Pikmin,
even though I never played it, you played the demo.
Yeah.
You talked about Charles Marginade's second game?
Yes, I talked about...
What was that game?

(01:10:41):
Mario's Game Gallery.
I really liked making that video, but...
I didn't get as many views as I thought it would.
Unfortunately.
I talked about anime again with Tyler.
Pretty solid.
Then I talked about my roguelikes.
We talked about games we liked but we never played again.
Two weeks ago.
Then it was Mario Wonder.

(01:11:03):
Last week was Mario Wonder.
At the time of this release, two weeks ago,
was the Nintendo Direct,
and we actually haven't recorded the final episode.
Or sorry, the second final episode.
So if you're listening in as far,
we're kind of recording this final episode,
but you know it, it's still our last episode.
I think...
I think I missed the last three podcasts.

(01:11:26):
I missed...
I wanted to miss a few podcasts
because I was caught up in a little something
kind of Arbor Core 6.
You see...
It's a game of all time.
I lost brain rot.
I can't drop it.
In contrast to the episode I was on.
I think it's been a good journey.

(01:11:47):
And unfortunately I do think
the upload schedule might get a little funky
while we're figuring stuff out
because the podcast is dying.
But as we can see from here,
we'll get back into the groove.
Phase 1 podcast done.
We're heading to phase 2.
This is SwitchClicks season...
technically season 3.

(01:12:08):
I think we technically called episode 101
plus season 2.
So we had those posters that no one bought.
It was unofficial.
I also changed the thumbnail style at that point.
But in the coming days,
we will be changing our style on the channel.
We'll get some new artwork
and a new logo we'll be revealing pretty soon.
This will be the Click era.

(01:12:29):
That was the Switch era.
That was the Click era.
What's the next console to be? The Click.
I would absolutely...
That would be good.
I love that actually.
That would go so well with the game.
It'd be fine.
I guess what would it do to Click?
What would it do to Click?
It would just really switch sound to a click.

(01:12:51):
To a click?
All the buttons are really loud.
Really clicky buttons.
They make it out of GameCube controller technology.
So it's super clicky-clacky.
Lots of...
Triggers.
I like the shoulder buttons.
All the buttons are pretty clicky.
More clicky than most controllers.
Yeah.

(01:13:13):
You press that A button,
and the next room can hear you.
If there's any ASR Mario video
of a game controller being heard,
it's most likely being done with a game controller.
It's easiest to actually get sounds off too,
compared to something like...
Okay, I have our K-Sync, it's loud, but...
It's just...
It comes with a different sound.

(01:13:35):
It's more distinct to have an actual GameCube controller.
It won't be the cleanest controller then.
The Switch is probably up there.
Yeah, I think the Switch is up there.
The Joy-Con's specific, right?
The Joy-Con sticks are really quiet.
The buttons are kind of clicky, but they're not really loud.
If I bought my stick, it could be pretty quiet.
Well, wipe the tears away from your eyes.

(01:13:57):
Blow your last Kleenex as you're watching this video.
Excuse me.
There we go.
How the hell do you end this?
How are you supposed to end something like this?
Thank you for joining us for our last podcast.
This has been an awful journey, alright.
Well, I joined the podcast, everything went down.
No one's watching this point, so we're just insulting everyone.

(01:14:19):
Blame me for bringing on Kaiser.
That was your fault, Nathan. Come on.
If there are any Kaiser haters out there,
if you want to call them Kaiser haters,
be Nathan haters as well.
It's equally hateful.
It's mutual.
I know there's no Tyler or Dakota haters.

(01:14:41):
Everyone loves them, I hope.
I don't know, there might be Tyler haters.
I hate you, but I hate you.
Tyler's now rocking that Matt Mercer haircut.
No one's going to see it,
because the Batman Arkham video's never going to come out.
Did we even have to even say anything about that on the podcast?
I don't know.
Hey, that's a teaser.
Leaked video.

(01:15:03):
Leaked for two years from now.
Two years? You're thinking like maybe five years.
It doesn't matter, there's a dog in the background.
Don't worry, you guys, you can put it out on Spotify.
Whoa!
I just replayed the sound clip.
Quickly end the podcast, then you can vent it.
If Kaiser deletes when the podcast ends, we can save the dog.

(01:15:25):
Maybe we should just delete Kaiser then.
No worries, I'll delete you guys first before you delete me.
This is a messy end, but I think it's kind of perfect.
Yeah, there's no way to perfectly do this.
It's not too emotional.
I mean, yeah.
See ya.
Let's see if we can icon one shot.
Okay, let's go.
We'd love it if you could follow us on X and Threads,
listen to our previous episodes on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms,

(01:15:50):
because we'll be keeping that up for probably the next few months or so.
You can find all of them on YouTube now.
Join our community Discord server to continue today's discussion.
We're not really continuing much discussion,
but you can see our future videos, of course.
This is Dakota.
This is Kaiser.
This is Nathan.
And this is Tyler.

(01:16:11):
And we thank you for listening to the Switch Clicks Podcast.
And we thank you for listening to the Switch Clicks Podcast.
This is weird.
I don't know, I was like culty.
Thank you for listening.
Like, comment, subscribe.
Okay, I will stop there.
