(00:22):
Relax and enjoy.
Hello, everyone popping in foranother episode of the Tea with
Tina podcast.
So on today's episode, I wantedto relay a message that kind of
came out of thin air, but is afantastic message, and what
(00:42):
often the best lessons are thatway right.
So where this came from was Iam running a free 12 days of
fitness challenge in my coachinggroup.
This is open to current clients, past clients and anybody
anybody completely free.
We're doing some giveaways, butthe goal of this is they're
short workouts that are 15minutes or less, dumbbell and
(01:02):
body weight only, and the goalis to be able to show up every
day for the 12 days and do yourworkouts.
Okay, that's the goal, andthey're not all like super
cardio based or super difficult.
Some of them are mobilitystretching based, some of them
are a little bit more cardio, some of them are more strength.
So it's a nice variety and youget a little lesson with each
(01:24):
day and on the first day here, everybody was to share their
goals for the next 12 days and alot of them did revolve around
just showing up in this busyholiday season, during Christmas
season.
You know we have all theseobligations, or at least
expectations.
You know, parties, presents, decorating, being kind, kind
(01:46):
even though we should be doingthat all year um, you know,
there's just a lot expected andI feel that energy every year
and I often podcast about itbecause I just, I just feel it.
I personally find I'm trying tofind more joy in the holidays.
There's nothing like inherentlybad about the holidays for me.
Like, I don't know, like somepeople you know they might have
lost a loved one, or maybethey're not super close with
(02:09):
their families, so they feel sadduring the holidays.
I find myself just feeling morereserved and quiet during the
holidays.
I don't know why.
Maybe that energy I feel ofeverybody just constantly trying
to almost put on a show to meetthese needs, and I often wonder
(02:30):
how many people actually enjoydoing it and just don't do it
just because they feel like theyhave to.
And that part really bothers meand I don't know why.
It's very subliminal, almostfor me as well, but I've been
dealing with that for the pastcouple years.
But we're here and I amenjoying some of the Christmas
fun and, don't worry, I'malright.
But, like I said, that alwayskind of weighs on me.
(02:53):
But anyways, going into thislesson, consistency Okay, I have
a really great metaphor forthis.
So consistency is the name ofthe game.
Okay, metaphor for this.
So consistency is the name ofthe game.
Okay, think of your workouts asa pass fail system, right?
Okay, this is perfect withthinking about consistency.
Pass fail system you either dothem or you don't.
(03:17):
You may need a 70% to pass,right?
Have you ever taken a testwhere it's like it's pass, fail,
as long as you get to 70% ofthe questions, right, you're
gonna pass.
And then when you get your testresults back, sometimes they do
give you the percent, but a lotof times they'll just say
whether you pass or fail.
They don't tell you.
You know how close it was, howclose you were to failing.
Or, you know, did you get 90%?
(03:39):
It's just pass, fail, right, and it was enough to pass.
I think a lot of us put too muchweight, emotion and precious
energy into the little details.
You know, oh, I wasn't feeling100% that workout so I sucked.
That's an automatic fail.
(04:00):
I didn't lift as much weight aslast time, so I failed.
I felt really rushed duringthat workout.
I had to squeeze it in lastminute so, you know, it just
didn't feel, you know, like agood workout.
It sucked.
So we really focus on thoselittle details and we need to
zoom out and see the biggerpicture.
(04:23):
Yes, your feelings are validbut, honestly, who cares?
Because your main goal rightnow and the reason that you're
probably not reaching the goalsyou have for yourself and the
reason you're not progressing,is because you're not consistent
, right, that is the main thing.
If you complete your workout, you passed okay.
If you complete your workout, you passed Okay.
(04:44):
If you completed your workout, you passed.
I think, so many times we getcaught up in, like you know,
were my workout clothes cute?
Did I get enough sleep?
Did this feel amazing?
And I had an endorphin rush?
Was it at the perfect time?
You know?
Did I not feel rushed?
Did I feel like?
You know, every move felt great, the form was great.
(05:05):
My weight?
I went up in weight and that'sjust unrealistic.
You're going to have a lot ofthe workouts are going to feel
meh.
Some of the workouts are goingto feel crappy.
Some of the workouts are goingto feel great.
You're going to feel everything.
But again, as long as you madeit through, you pass, just like
(05:28):
the test.
You're not going to be able togo in and say, oh well, you know
, this is how it felt when I didthe workout.
No, it's just oh, you did theworkout.
Check you get your checkboxright, even like high school.
It's kind of like that.
When you get your um, you knowyour diploma.
Nobody's like going in andgoing.
What grades did you get in yourmath class?
How did you feel about takingyour math class?
Was your math class?
(05:49):
Was it?
Did you have fun and were youamazing and were your notes
written perfectly?
And you just got you know a'son every single test.
Or how was gym class?
Were you perfect in gym class?
Like no, they don't go in thatfar right, when you zoom out and
see the bigger picture, you didenough to pass.
And that's how you need to treatyour workouts and and even your
nutrition and habits in general.
(06:09):
And here's the one thing too,one big thing for you to
remember once you've nailedconsistency, you earn the right
to be picky.
Right, right.
We cannot look at the moreminute details until we've
actually gotten consistent.
No matter how messy it looks,no matter how ugly it looks,
(06:33):
consistency is key.
It's at the root of everything.
So then come back to me withall your little nitpicks and all
your details, with all yourlittle nitpicks and all your
details.
When you actually show upconsistently, day in, day out,
week after week, month aftermonth, and you've been putting
in the reps, then we canfine-tune it right.
(06:55):
So I thought that message wasreally powerful and I just
wanted to share with you.
Um, I'm not going to elaboratetoo much because I want you to
absorb that message andinterpret it how you see fit.
If you hear a jingly ball in thebackground, that is my kitten,
who has way too much energy.
It makes it challenging for meto record.
Sometimes he was actuallyattacking me in the middle of
(07:18):
recording this with his verysharp claws that he does not
realize are that sharp.
One swat and he, like, opens myskin and I start to bleed.
But anyways, enjoy this message.
Have a great rest of your dayand I'll chat with you soon.
Bye.
