Host Keith Woodward talks nutrition with Dana White; yup, that’s right we got Dana White to come on the show… oh, wait not the Dana White who is the President of Ultimate Fighting Championship. The other one. Let’s get back in focus. What’s the best recovery drink? The answer is pretty complicated. There is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all post workout beverage. Dana has lots of jobs and she loves her life. She is the nutritionist for the National Champion Quinnipiac Bobcat Men’s Ice Hockey Team. Okay, we undersold it a little. Dana White, MS, RD, ATC. Which means she has her master’s degree, and she is a registered dietitian & Certified Athletic Trainer.
In this episode, Dana discusses the importance of healthy nutrition and how it’s her job to make sure “the boys” eat right. Collin Graf is a believer -- and he scored the game-tying goal of the National Championship game, and you’ll hear from him in this episode. Although not in the episode, Dana used to serve ice cream to this guy named Rand when she was an undergraduate student at Quinnipiac. Keith pressures Dana on what food isn’t great for recovery, and she gives an answer that might surprise you. All that and a bunch of more food/nutrition "talk” with Dana White.
All episodes begin with Quinnipiac Student Matt Mungo’s call on the Quinnipiac Bobcat Sports Network of the National Championship goal. Thanks to QBSN for letting us use this audio.
