In this episode, Billy Mecca, Zach Metsa, and Chris Mascali join host Keith Woodward as they talk about the Hero’s Hat. The award was established in honor of those who risked or lost their lives following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. It remembers Joseph Mascali (FDNY/Staten Island 5), father of Quinnipiac alum Chris '05, Jenn '02 and Katie Mascali '14. The Heroes Hat, created by Quinnipiac Director of Athletics & Recreation Jack McDonald, was originally presented to the winner of the Quinnipiac and UConn season series during its first four years from 2001-02 to 2004-05. At the time of the award's inception, Quinnipiac head coach Rand Pecknold said, "It is our hope that the Heroes Hat be a Connecticut sports tribute to the many heroes and their families involved in the September 11th tragedy."
