We must work for it… (Love that is) Some of the ways in which I try to display L.O.V.E. is to:
L. listen to them
O. offer my respect
V. value who they are
E. encourage they grow
There are no shortcuts to the real thing with the right one for you. So, stop rushing an emotion that requires time and experiences. Love is not what it’s often portrayed as… It might be cultivated in the good times, but it truly reveals its presence in the not so good times. The problem may be that most of us have love activation habits – but not the type of habits to sustain the love we've generated by our initial actions.
Many of us were never taught about the five love languages and without this knowledge we head out into the world of relationships seeking what we clearly cannot define for ourselves. For love does it make one hole, but often reveals the holes that one is safe to reveal. With awareness, of how you give love and wish to receive it back will serve you very well in the long run. And, to truly wrap your hand around someone you love you need not only focus on their love language a preference nor your own; you must deliver love in each of the five ways. The truest testament of one’s love is the labor of efforts to improve in areas where were the weakest.
