Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, I'm Benno Third
Growth Option podcast host and
founder and CEO of Realign, agrowth agency I started in 2009.
So, in the last 16 years andthe last 160 or so episodes of
the Third Growth Option podcast,I have heard a lot of questions
(00:21):
around growth.
Right, people ask where do Istart?
Why is it so complicated?
Is there a process?
Is there a better?
Is there a framework?
Why doesn't somebody makegrowth easier?
You know what's the worst thatcan happen how do I mitigate
risk?
How do I find the right team?
(00:43):
How do I find the rightcustomer?
How do I break cross-functionalgridlock and silos?
And I want this third season ofthe Third Growth Option Podcast
, which we're going to call theGrowth Climbers Toolbox, I want
this to be a place for you guysto ask me more questions.
(01:03):
Right, I have a bunch ofquestions that I just rattled
off that I have come across.
I'll give you, you know, myanswers.
The first answer is stay curious, right, ask better.
I always challenge myself toask better questions and the
only way I can ask betterquestions is if I remain curious
(01:26):
.
And we have to remain gritty, right, to commit to growth.
Growth is obviously about thefuture, right, and the future is
, you know, not preciselypredictable.
(01:46):
You know there are certain, youknow historical trends that we
can predict the future a littlebit, but then stuff happens
right.
So stay curious, be gritty anddo lean on process and
frameworks.
And some of the processes thatI lean on and we lean on as
(02:11):
RealLand Sherpas, as ExpansionSherpas, is this framework of
the third growth option.
There's organic growth,internal organic growth, there's
acquisition, and then there'sthe third growth option that's
faster than internal organicless, there's acquisition, and
then there's the third growthoption that's faster than
internal organic, less riskythan acquisition.
I rely on the one, two, threegrowth process.
(02:32):
I rely on this framework ofdefine, refine scale.
If you don't define somethingfirst, you're basically doing
the old cowboy trick of readyshoot, aim.
I believe in ready aim shoot.
So I believe in definingsomething, spending, you know,
(02:55):
sort of measure, twice cut once.
I believe in, you know, embracing healthy tension in
teams.
I believe in embracing healthytension in teams.
I believe in radical candor.
I believe in visibility, transparency and visibility.
(03:16):
And then there's a whole bunchof sort of functional processes
that we've got to get our armsaround if we want to grow the
business.
Grow through new adjacentproduct categories through
accessing other channels ofdistribution.
We've got to know about productmanagement and channel
management and branding anddigital marketing and design and
(03:40):
financial planning andstrategic planning and and
actually, uh, it's strategy andthen planning that strategy for
execution, right?
So yeah, I lean on all thoseprocesses, believe in the
importance of those, but remaincurious, ask questions, ask
(04:04):
customer, ask your team members, ask your.
You know, frankly, sometimesthe guys or gals at the loading
dock might have answers thatpeople around the so remain
curious, stay gritty and pleaselet me know what you know.
(04:30):
Drop me a line in the commentssection at benno, at

answer in this Growth ClimbersToolbox at season three of the
(04:56):

this season will bring.
