about my upcoming trip on theDisney Wish.
I am so excited.
This is a long time coming.

cruise.

So, like three years ago, I um?
So we were supposed to be onone of the inaugural cruises.

go.
I think it was what like May2020.
Does that sound right, I thinkit was for this ship.

Yeah, it was definitely for theship it was for the Disney Wish,
but um we, because it wassupposed to open like February
2020, and then COVID happened,and then they couldn't finish
the ship, or maybe it was justanyway, it doesn't matter.
All I know is one we couldn'tgo because of COVID too.
The boat wasn't done.
But three we're going now, yeah, and so we are going the.
And it's my family of four, yes, my dad and his wife Valerie,

my sister Flynn Solo, and anysingle bachelors out there that
want to join her Nice.

And my brother and his wife andtheir um three, almost four

So we are going on the cruiseand someone is either going to
die or we're all going to leavehappy.

So when we booked the trip,when we booked our original trip
pre COVID, I did it because Iwas a travel agent and I knew
that I had I had to book throughsomebody else, and so, um, I
contacted her name is Nicole andshe's actually local to
Jacksonville and she is alsowith ears of experience, which

is who I was with and, um the I.
There was no reason why Ipicked a local person versus a
non-local person.
I just knew her through afriend of mine and, um, it
worked out.
If I needed to meet up with her, I could have done it, and so
that was why I did it.
Um, but Nicole took care ofeverything.

Um, we are all staying in thedeluxe ocean view, whatever it
is with the balcony, like afamily.
Yes, the family room.
Yeah, family veranda.
So we all have those, which isa queen bed and then the option
for a bunk bed or right therebunk bed.
Um, now my dad and miss foulupgraded to the concierge room.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Nice, I know.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
So total paid total paid move, so that gave them a
king size bed.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Oh, that's nice.

I was like I don't understandthe problem here Come on A king

So I am like a whatever thebase.
So Disney cruise, if you have.

It's like a reward system Idon't know if that's the right
word like Chick-fil-A.
Think about Chick-fil-A.
Right, I'm basically a boardmember of Chick-fil-A.
That's how many points I have.

Um, but how many nights a week does that require?

Um so Disney does, disneycruise does.
If you've been on any cruisebefore in your life, you're
automatically a silver.
And then if you've been on likelet's I'm making up numbers
let's say it's 25, then you're agold, let's say it's 50, then

it's silver.

And if you've been on over a hundred of your platinum
and so they added one, becausethere were people that were
going on to many places.
They added pearl.
Oh my, word.
I know, I know I should lookthat up.
What, what, what it is, but itis, you're right.
As soon as you go on one,you're in the castaway club, so
I am automatically in thecastaway club, because I went on
one when I was nine and 15.

It's awesome, so you're welcome children, brainic
children, for setting thislegacy up for you.
You are now castaway membersAlso.
It's got brain, so are you so?

So what that does is it allowsexcursion booking dates prior.
So let's say a standard persongets to book 150 days out, um a

or 60 days out.
A silver person gets to book 75days out, a gold gets to book
90 days out, and then it.
So it staggers up like that andI think that the platinum or I
guess now the pearl gets, let'ssay it's a, let's say that's a
hundred days out.
So does concierge.
So if you are not that level,then you get concierge.

So that is why dad did it, soit allowed one they have a
concierge club, but two, hecould book things before
everybody else.

So let me tell you what eachlevel are.
I just tell me so silver member.
Silver member is aftercompleting one sailing.

So that you had two.
Yeah, so really cool.

Yeah, gold member is after completing five sailings.

I remember talking to a lady at Disney and her child
was already a plat, a pearlmember, because that was how
many they went on.

Yeah, as a family.

That's how many they had gone on.
They went on like a couple ofcruises a year.

It includes everything right.
So, like Caribbean, Alaska,Barcelona, I don't know you
could go to the Mediterranean.

You could go all kinds of places, but I think,
especially when you live inFlorida, if you live close to a
port, it's really easilyaccessible.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yes, and so that that's what I was going to say.
So we are leaving out of PortCanaveral, okay, and we are
actually going to head to PortCanaveral.
The Brannock family is headingto Port Canaveral on Thursday,
thanksgiving Thursday, and we'respending the night.
And then I think that, becauseNicole, our travel planner, is

working I don't know if we havea, I think, friday of this week
we get to set our check-in time,but since we are with my dad,
we were able to get some thingstogether.
So like we may be able to getcheck-in time together, which
would be 11 am, and there weresome reservations that we were
dining, reservations that wewere able to do.

So that is how we booked andthat is why we booked what we
booked.
We did not do adjoining rooms,because there is no part of me
that wants to adjoin with mysiblings period.
But you can, there are peoplewho will get in adjoining room
and they'll get it where thebalconies can connect?

Yes, we did that when we were on the train.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, we had connectingbalconies.

I would connect with you and it was great.

Disney cruise to Alaska or ifthis is your big family trip and

are whereas we see, like theBahamas when we go to the beach.
That's not true, that was anexaggeration, but but people
will book.
You can pick your state room.
Yes, you pick your state room.
It is not assigned to you.
You pick it and people willfind out where the ship will be
facing when they come into port.

And so they'll pick which sideof the boat they wanna be on.
So if you are planning a Disneycruise and that is important to
you when you go into port, thatyou can either you don't wanna
look or you do wanna look payattention to those things and
you can look.
I mean, that is on all of theDisney blogs and I'm actually

pretty sure it's on One.
If you have a travelprofessional, they'll tell you.
But yeah, so that is wherewe're staying.
We're on the ninth floor.
Like I said, dad has theconcierge, so he has.
I think that they're Smokestack, right?
Yeah, I wish I priced that out.
So the smoke stack room, Sarah,is like I tried Y'all.

I tried real hard, I know.
For whatever reason I was shotdown.

I know man come on For a threenight cruise.

It's like 1400 square feet.

I wanna go back to the bookingthings.
So the Brannick family we getto book I think that we're let's
say it's 100 days out, maybeit's 100, silver members get to
book 120 days out.

It always has a countdown 92 days from the
cruise, so maybe we're 90 daysBecause it's-.

We have requested two of thenights to do the adult dining.

So we requested that and Ithink we have the 545 dining.

So when you book your cruisethey give you a dining time.
Okay, 545 is our dining time,which is great.
So on the nights that we haveadult dining, our kids, we will
feed our kids at 545.
We'll sit there, we'll eat withthem, they'll have the dining
experience and then we will putthem, send them to Kids Club,

right, and then we'll go to theeight o'clock seating at the
nice restaurant Awesome, I knowthat's so good.
So we're very.
That was a very good call onour part.
So those are the four and Ithink Are you gonna fall asleep?
Definitely, I was like Scott, Igotta get it.

I'm gonna have to get a snack.
You're gonna have to get somecoffee at five o'clock.

That's what you're gonna have at the 545 seating
and a snack yes, a snack and acoffee.
A thousand percent yes, so that.
And then I think that we alsobooked a massage.
So we're gonna find we're goingto the Bahamas and the Brannock
family has zero desire to getoff the boat and go to Nassau.

So we are just gonna stay onthe boat.
That's a good call.

Yeah, so we did that when we were on the dream and
you really get the ship toyourself.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah, yes.

Very, very low crowds .

And all the clubs are open.
It is so the kids can dowhatever they wanna do.
We can do whatever we wanna do,so that is so.
Those are the things that weneeded to book.
My dad did concierge because MsVal wanted a cabana for when we
go to Castaway K Key.

Yep, there it is, but I bet.
I bet because he's concierge.
It was not hard to get a cabana.

So that's where the catch is.
It was hard Really.
They did not get one.
So the cabana there's like 15on the whole island.
There's not a lot.
And, like I said, conciergegets first pick.
And our sweet travel agent shescheduled the email to be sent
right at 12.01.
Wow, so when they got it theywould have been the first to

email.
You know, it's like 15 is notvery many.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
No, and if you think about it, there's yes, and
there's probably 40 conciergerooms.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
So it is what it is, but he had allowed us the other
benefits of checking in earlyand I think that we were able to
get mixology because he did itwith, because he was a part of
that with us, so, but anyway, so.

So your other dining reservations too?
Yes, like the adult dining.
Yes, I'm sure that's kind ofhard to get in.

And so if you're able to book with him, then he could

That is a very nice benefit, isthat if at least one person is
staying concierge.
So that's something that peopleshould consider.
Is that not everybody?
Yes, it's kind of like havingan annual pass.

Well, and that's what I was gonna say.
And they may not be able toguarantee everything, and that's
what Nicole told us.
She's like Elizabeth, I cannotguarantee it.
I'm just gonna request itBecause what's the worst thing?
That they can say no.
So that's what she did witheverything.
She was like I'm just gonna seeif I can book it under him and
say that they, y'all are in thesame party.
And so it did.
It worked out.
That really worked out well.

I always tell people when they're considering going
on a big trip, a big Disneyworld trip.
If it's a lot of days, I saidconsider someone getting an
annual pass, because you can getdiscounts on dining, you can
get free parking.
There's a lot of just perks tohaving the annual pass of one
person.

Gets the annual pass and you'rehaving that many.
If you're going for a week,just get a weekday annual pass
one person and you get all ofthe perks.
So your dad having the concierge, it's like you don't really.
I mean, would it be nice if youhad a concierge room, a
king-size bed, it would belovely, but you still get to
benefit from the perks.

I mean technically there's three twin beds in there
, so Scott can sleep on theother twin beds.
That's true, that's fine.
So we also learned that on thecruise ships you can bring one
bottle of wine per adult.

Yes.

And it's like a case of beer, I think, or a case of
beer, there's something likethat.
There's a rule.
So you know, scott Brannick isvery happy about that.

So I was very nervous aboutthis because the times are weird

I was like, oh, we're going todo dinner and then the show, and
she was like you're going tohave to do the afternoon matinee

dinner.
But I'm very excited.
Both of the kids are veryexcited about that.
I'm very excited about theadult only lounges.
Yes, the Star Wars lounge, I'mpretty sure.
Actually, I'm more excitedabout the Bios, the Bayou, the

So another thing when we werebooking the massage, nicole said

Yeah, so almost every cruise ship, most cruise ships,
have a spa.
The one at Disney, for Disneyis called senses spa.
Yes, and they have it's adultonly.
Yes, and just going, and youcould even just get the package
to be in that room, therainforest room.

Yes, the rainforest room.
That's what I was going to sayto you.
So I, if you're fromJacksonville, then you're
familiar with Pana Vita spa,which, whether you get a massage
or a body wrap or a pedicure,you get to utilize the entire
spa for the whole year yeah or ahaircut.
Or a haircut, which I hadtotally done before, yes, and so
you get the.
I love that journey for you.

I did.
I got a haircut and I went tothe spa for the rest of the day.
It was lovely.

I love it and there's no additional fee.
So you get at Pana Vita, youget the pool, you get the room,

This indoor area featuresheated lounges, fountains, roma
therapy steam room, a dry saunaand a drassana and a calming

went into the adult-only loungeone night on the Disney Dream.

The bar, okay, and they only cruise Disney.
They don't have any children,they're adults.
They only cruise Disney.
They just do all the adult-onlythings.

So mom did not love a Disneyexperience.

would have picked a Disneycruise over any other cruise
ship.
Yes, in the whole wide world,and she went on a seaborn cruise

She's been on a princess cruiseand she was like it.

Just she's been on adult-only cruises before and
she'd rather go on a Disneycruise.

She was like the Disney cruise was to your point
it was.
I think that a lot of it wasthe quality of people.

There was the quality of people, the staff.
You didn't have hooligansrunning around and, to your
point, the adult-only placeswere phenomenal.
And it's not.
There's not Mickey Mousewalking in the adult-only pool,

I guess that's what thosepeople were saying.
They were like listen, we lovethe quality of the service.
Yes, everything is top-notchand it's not like we don't like
children or anything, but justwe just go to the adult-only
area and it is a really niceadult experience and there are
plenty of things that are justfor adults there.
They have adult-only pools,they have adult-only lounges,

adult-only dining.
Yes, on the island of CastawayQuay there's an adult-only
section of the island.

So if you're an adult andyou're like I do want to do a
cruise, but I'm not going totake kids, I know that it kind
of seems like, well, why in theworld would you take a Disney
cruise?
I mean, if you want anadult-only experience, you can
still have that on a Disneycruise.

Right and it's not.
It is not a.
I think you would be verypleased with the experience.
I think, that you could maybeeven say five-star.
Yes, maybe, maybe, maybe.
I'll report back to you on thatone, but it is a, I will say so

My kids said so, can we just goto the pool whenever we want?

And I said, no, right, I said,okay, I cannot, this is not your
rodeo.
Yes, so if you are travelingwith children and you're like,
oh, I'll just put them in thecub's den and they can take care
of you know, the kid's corneror whatever.
Now, if you have a 16-year-old,I think that's a different
story, but my kids are seven andeight.

No, your kids are not seven andeight they're eight, and nine
they're eight, and nine.

Okay, marcy, when you were supposed to go on the
cruise they were about seven andeight, like very fast, but
really six and seven.

But now, they are older.
Yes, but I'm not going to letmy children just go to the pool
whenever they want to go to thepool, right, and I don't think
that Disney would allow that.
No, I don't think they wouldeither.

They would frown upon that if they're that young.

If she's with another likecousin or friend who was her age
, she's about to be 12.

still haven't decided that butthat is an option for you If
you're like well, what if my kidneeds me and I don't know?
So, one, they can reach out toyou, they being the council, you

figure it out their first timeand then, if we go on another

There's not really anythingelse on those devices, on those

They don't work anymore.
They don't work with wifi, butshe could take pictures on it
and then be on that app to beable to message us.

Yeah, it was definitely for theship it was for the Disney Wish,
but um we, because it wassupposed to open like February
2020, and then COVID happened,and then they couldn't finish
the ship, or maybe it was justanyway, it doesn't matter.
All I know is one we couldn'tgo because of COVID too.
The boat wasn't done.
But three we're going now, yeah, and so we are going the.
And it's my family of four, yes, my dad and his wife Valerie,

There was no reason why Ipicked a local person versus a

is with the balcony, like afamily.

The Brannock family is headingto Port Canaveral on Thursday,
thanksgiving Thursday, and we'respending the night.

working I don't know if we havea, I think, friday of this week
we get to set our check-in time,but since we are with my dad,
we were able to get some thingstogether.
So like we may be able to getcheck-in time together, which
