(00:27):
you, I've been. I'm theColt person Alison and the Colt person Countain,
(00:51):
the color person Mountain, the coldpersonality, me on mine, normal
lies that are sneak shutting lines tofather oh sothing should need to be.
(01:40):
I'm a smaller place for the table. I'm a total person. It's one
year speak to the main I tellyou what extreme unser sid reality under said.
(02:21):
Hello and welcome to the Tough CoverRadio Show. I am your host
as always, Mark Henry Junior,my coast over there, Sean Bernard.
You can follow Sewn on Twitter atShawn Underscore Bernard one Right, had one
in there, right? I wouldyou got us forget Sewn Underscore Bernard one.
(02:43):
You follow me on Twitter at MarkHenry Junior Underscore. You can get
involved with the conversation on at FoxPHL Gambler. We are streaming on iHeart
Radio. We're streaming on Twitter onFox BLSHL Gambler, and we back every
one YouTube, and we back.As my U the guy on my hat
would say, yeah, we're back. YouTube have been a battle band battle
is one. We are back tonow some awesome content on YouTube. So
(03:06):
that's gonna be backflowing in full formstarting today and all through hopefully from forever
from now. I'm so excited tobe back on there, and plenty of
big plans in the work. Wegot plenty to talk about today. College
football people are already yelling at meon Twitter to get the card out,
so I got it out early. We got an NFL card to full card
that I love. By the way, I love the NFL card tomorrow my
favorite of the year so far.I am pumped. Most plays I've had
(03:28):
on the NFL slate all year long. We got obviously a little NBA slop
to talk about, and there's noone better to bring on than Trill bro
dude. So he's coming on attwelve o'clock to talk about slop. We're
gonna slop him up. We're gonnatalk about Dame, We're gonna talk about
Drew, We're gonna talk about allthat stuff all. What it means for
the Sixers, what it means forthe NBA as a whole. But I'd
(03:51):
be remissed. I know it wasa couple of nights ago. I'd be
remissed to start anywhere else but righthere in the City of Brotherly Love.
Jeremy, get that music ready,We're right back, absolutely, Red October
is back once again. They clinchedwhat was it Tuesday? Wednesday? I
(04:14):
was at the game. It wasan absolutely awesome thing to be Therefore,
I was at the clincher the NLDSlast year, so I think it's only
the second clinching type of thing I'veever been at. Was a lot of
fun to see. And I gottatell you, as soon as they put
on dancing on my own after thegames. I've been to a lot of
games this year. They didn't dothat in the regular season. When they
put this song on, goose bumpsall over. I mean, some people
(04:39):
out there want to say, like, they can't use it. They lost
last year. You know, takethe dump out of your pants out here,
take the dump out of your pants. It's a fun song. It
was a blast to be there singingit. It's great that they have this,
like and you know, I didn'twatch the video Yearbook all year long
the twenty twenty two video year Book, cause it was too tough for me.
(05:00):
I knew how it ended. Theymade it to the playoffs, and
this week I was like, allright, I have hope. I'm gonna
go back and watch it. Yougo back and watch how this city stepped
up last year in the playoffs andhow the Phillies became the story in sports
like these story at least in Philadelphia. The Eagles were going undefeated, no
(05:23):
one cared. None of the radioshows talking about the Eagles beating the Texans
and beating being seven to zero.It was a story, but everyone was
focused on what the Phillies were doing. How, you know, unprepared we
were for what they're what they weregoing to do. I think the crowd's
going to be even better this yearwith how prepp they've been. This whole
year has been building towards this.I mean, if you're the heirs are
(05:46):
in the Diamondbacks, if you're theMiami Marlins, we can argue about who
we'd rather see. I think that'sterrifying to walk into this bank. Yeah,
it does not matter to me whoit is. That regardless of who
is entering Citizens Bank, Park thispostseason, I'm not scared of whether it's
the Diamondbacks, whether it's the Marlins. And this team is just so fun,
dude, like that whole moment. This song has grown on me a
ton just this what a banger itis and has become. But just Garrett
(06:10):
Stubbs, the way he's celebrating withthe aswel all of these guys getting down
then Stubbs he hitting at home roundthe next day was awesome. Everyone on
this team is so likable that it'slike it's an infectious group that that is
why they're the story that when youlook around at the teams in Philadelphia and
they're all beloved, this Phillies teamjust has something special when it comes to
the mix of personalities and like asa group, their personality, This is
(06:31):
my favorite group of guys in myadulthood. Like, I just love this
team so much and I want Iwant a title for them more than I've
ever wanted a title for any groupof guys, because I've wanted the process
to be vindicated. That's almost likea different thing. And now it feels
like even if they win eventually,I don't even know if it'll be that
connected to that. So now atthis point, like this is this is
(06:53):
this is that important to me thatthey this group of guys gets to experience
what we've seen in two thousand andeight and what the old head saw in
nineteen eighty with their groups of guysthat you know culminated in the title,
and I want it so badly forthis team. We're both on the side
of was that KG at the Coloradoeveryone the baby spoke to the team today.
It is like a full out justcelebrity Runway and Colorado at this point.
(07:16):
You know what I was thinking about? Also, how much would it
suck if you graduated from Colorado lastyear? I know, how much would
that suck? Just watching all thishappen. It's like that was if you
got forced to transfer. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, Yeah,
it's definitely rough all around there forthose people. But yeah, I
mean, we're both on the sideof Diamondbacks. Marlins. Give me the
tired Diamondbacks, give me the Marlins. I don't care, right, Is
(07:38):
Jeremy afraid either one of them morethan the other? No? I mean,
the only reason why I wouldn't beas afraid of Diamonbacks anymore is because
Meryl Kelly and yeah, Zach Gallen, both of them are not gonna be
able to have normal rest by thetime of Game one and two, huge
of the wild Card series. Soeither way, I'm fine with it.
I'm not afraid at all. Ithink we're going straight to the division series.
(08:00):
Yeah, it's absolutely huge. PatMcAfee threw up between segments on College
Game Day and Schefter just tweeted itout like a breaking news story. Look
at it looks horrible. He's justlike, it just looks like he's holding
something back. He's flu game,he's playing through plain. I respect that.
Apparently food poisoning. Schefter mentioned that'sthat's a good way to transition over
(08:20):
to college football. McAfee throwing upat halftime of College Game Studios. No,
absolutely, we got we got strongstomachs, and yeah, strong stomachs.
That's what we're known for. Yeah, Yeah, let's get it started.
Let's get it started. I've gotten plays on the board today and
I've already tweeted it out. Peopleare people were ravenous. They needed it
(08:41):
early, but I tweeted it onthe stream, So let's get it started.
I was about to just give upmy picks. I didn't even Oh,
let's get ready to gambo. Allright, let's get it start.
(09:03):
At twelve o'clock noon, we gotthree plays on the noon slate. Sean
Brace is on all of the sameplays that I'm on at noon. I
don't know how should I feel goodabout that? Should I feel worried about
that? Smart guy? So maybehe's maybe sharp today. Maybe he's he
woke up, he got his coffee, he's seeing the board. Maybe maybe
(09:26):
he did what mad Dog talked abouta week and there ago on first take.
Yeah, split it take the firstpart. Yeah yeah. Let's get
it started, though with my favoriteplay of the twelve o'clock slate, my
second favorite play of the day.Probably it's right there. It's almost tied
with my other one. But I'mgoing with the Kentucky Wildcats give me the
(09:46):
money line versus Florida. This isa Mark Stoop's legacy bet. Kentucky head
coach Mark Stoops nine and four againstthe spread sixty nine point two percent as
a small home favorite of less thanfour points at Kentucky, covering by an
average margin of six points per game. The Wildcats have won and covered two
straight in this series and are fiveand one against the spread in the past
(10:07):
six against Florida. They've won threeof the last five against Florida after losing
thirty one straight before that. MarkStoops has changed the culture at Kentucky.
It's not just Calipari's basketball school anymore. They win eight nine games almost every
year now in football. This isIf they win this game, it would
be just their second five and nosestart in three series. They would be
(10:30):
their second five and start in threeseasons, but just their fifth in the
past seventy five seasons. So themost success they've had as a program is
under Mark Stoops, and I thinkthey continue that today. While the Florida
offense has lacked explosiveness, ranking onehundred and twenty first in that offense or
in that department, Kentucky's offense ranksnumber one in the country in that department.
(10:50):
So I know that they haven't playeda great schedule. I think the
explosive plays are going to be hugefor Kentucky compared to Florida, which also
spells bad news for a Florida defensethat ranks dead last among the one hundred
and thirty three FBS teams in stoppingexplosive plays. They're good at stuff in
the run, they're good at stuffingshort passes, but they give up a
lot deep the Florida defense. Ithink Kentucky takes advantage of that today,
(11:13):
whereas I don't think Kentucky's offense hasto be that consistent throughout the game,
just because they will be able tomake a couple big plays, which we'll
be able to narrow that gap theline would be bigger. But they have
a home win over a Tennessee teamthat I don't think that highly of,
Like Florida's going to give get alot of credit for beating Tennessee. Tennessee
might not be very good, andI'll talk about that on one of my
(11:35):
picks a little later on. Butthere's a reason why Florida sits at one
hundred and sixteenth nationally and third downconversion percentage. I know Graham Murt's stats
look pretty good. He's not theguy, and I think that shows against
the Kentucky defense and a Mark Stoopscoach team, Florida's been impressive. They've
been way more impressive than I expected. There's still one in three against the
spread, though, so I expectKentucky to win here, I have Kentucky
(12:00):
money line in that game. Youhave any thoughts on that one? Nothing
fully on that one. I mostlyleaned towards what you're saying. But that's
the game that I am staying awayfrom. I will say, there's a
lot of the board today that I'mnot as comfortable. And this is a
week that I'm not seeing the boardas well as I feel i'd have in
others. So there's a lot ofgames that I chose to pass on or
even dig into. Some of Iguess the less appealing from a fandom standpoint,
but more appealing from the betting standpointfor me. And yeah, this
(12:22):
is a scary week in college football. Yeah, I love the NFL board.
I'm a little scared of the Collegeboard. It was the exactly opposite
for me last week. I wasscared of the NFL board and loved the
College board. By the way,did absolutely phenomenal in both No need,
no need to toot my own horn. But two two, I'm forty four
and twenty one over the last foursaturdays. It's ridiculous. Forty four and
twenty one at plus fifty seven anda half units on Saturdays. We are
(12:46):
one, forty three, one, fourteen, and six at plus one hundred
and twenty two and a half unitsover the last six weeks. Wow,
thirty four and eighteen at plus fiftysix units so far in college football,
thirty two, twenty five and twoat plus twenty five units in the NFL.
WOW. In the MLB seventy seven, seventy one and four at plus
forty one and a half units inthe last six weeks. But you know,
thanks to Bryson Trey props for that. Let's move on to the next
(13:09):
one, and we're staying in thisneck of the woods. We got some
fans listening, I'm sure. Solet's talk about the Penn State Nitney Lions,
who seemed to be a permanent installmenton my card every week. I
think I've bet them every game they'veplayed. Give me the minus twenty six.
I think it might be up totwenty seven. Maybe now I still
take it. The Nitney Lions areon a ten ozho and one spread.
Run here. James Franklin knows thespread. We know that now, so
(13:31):
that's definitely a factor. They've scoredthirty or more points than eleven straight games
they've scored five consecutive games or they'vecovered five consecutive games since the start of
last season, tied with Liberty inOklahoma for the longest active cover streak in
FBS. They're five and oh againstthe spread as a road favorite since the
start of last season, eight twoand one against the spread in Big Ten
(13:52):
games over the last two years. They leave the country in total defense,
pass defense, turnover margin, timeof possession. They're top five and a
bunch of other defensive stuff, ledby one of the best running back duos
in the country and Katron Allen andNick Singleton. Penn State second in the
Big Ten and rushing at two hundredten yards per game, Northwestern giving up
the league worst one hundred and eightyfour and a half yards rushing on average.
(14:13):
I think that's a terrible matchup forNorthwestern. James Franklin was practicing this
week with no music because he expectsit to be that empty at Northwestern for
this game. I agree with them. I think it's gonna be a sleepy
game, but I think Penn Stateabsolutely blows them out. And I'll just
say right now, and playing myflag, it's tough to evaluate what Georgia
(14:33):
is right now, So take Georgiaout of the conversation because it's almost unfair
to consider them. They should bethe favorite, and they are. Penn
State's the best team in the countrythat's not the Georgia Bulldocks. Wow.
I feel pretty confident in saying that. I think if I had to make
a pick to win the national championshipright now, that wasn't Georgia. I
think it would be Penn State. They look that good on defense, they
have the two headed monster at runningback, they have a phenomenal offensive line,
(14:58):
and you obviously have Drew Aller, who looks like the best quarterback they've
had in a long time. Doyou believe in Drew Aller as not?
He's definitely the best quarterback Penn Statehas had in a long time? Is
he? Where do you rank him? I guess on these fear of college
football, we're gonna find out.Yeah, we're gonna find out. But
I think he's probably top twenty five, Like, okay, that's fair.
He's probably not top five, topten, yeah, because there's so many
(15:20):
good quarterbacks this year. But Ithink the rest of that team is so
good that if he's just a toptwenty quarterback or top twenty five quarterback.
They can really compete, and ifhe develops throughout the rest of this year
into being a top fifteen quarterback, they are the best team in the country,
maybe even above Georgia. Okay,I think that's fair. I was
pretty high on Drew Aller coming intothis year. Shout out Ryan Coyle to
Beef up Front podcast put some someflames to those He's not. He's a
(15:43):
Drew Aller guy that he believed inDrew TA Yeah, but I see does
he have a team. I haven'thad Ryan on. We have to have
him on the show sometime for somereason. I feel like he has some
sort of Notre Dame ties as well. He's a little all over the place
though, I don't think he hasa firm college football team specifically. Everyone
to check out Beef up Front,Yeah, absolutely, But for Drew Aller
specifically, I don't want to sayI'm underwhelmed. I think it's more in
(16:07):
the comparison of how many great quarterbacksthere are and how much great quarterback play
there is around college football. Buthe hasn't quite captured my eye in the
way that I think I've hoped toat this point that I still have questions.
Is he the guy that can leada program to a national championship in
that way? You said it rightthough, We're going to find out that
this is the stretch where after thisweek it's obviously not a concern this week
against Northwestern, the twenty seven pointsis a lot, but I do lean
(16:29):
that they do cover that. Thedefense is what sells it for me for
Penn State is that that they arelegit. They have some legit pieces there.
I think that's gonna hold things.I think Northwestern is not gonna score
at all, but I'm watching acareful I ever drew Allen moving forward.
So you seemed a little skeptical bymy proclamation there on Penn State. Yeah,
who do you think is better thanthem right now? Because I know
they're they're racked like six or seven? Right? Would you you think Michigan?
(16:52):
You feel better about Michigan right now? I think he's I think Aler's
better than McCarthy, Yeah right.I honestly, Florida State is a team.
I know they have not played theirbest football, but I like Florida
State a lot. I think that'sa team that I'm buying into as a
a legitimate title contender. Washington andUSC are right there too. There.
Yeah, it's just PAC twelve's sogood. Rogan's that good too. Like
it's hard for me to pick aPac twelve team because it's gonna be a
(17:14):
it's gonna be Mayhem Washington. I'mvery intrigued to see against the better teams
too, because they've looked unbelievable, but they really haven't played on anybody yet
and they're putting up just unreal amountof time points. Michael Pennix is unbelievable
there, so we'll see what happens. I'm keeping the door open on Washington
as a legit contender as well. They've got NFL talent. They've got Roman
dunes Day outside. Pennix is anNFL guy, but Roman dunes Day at
wide receiver is gonna be a firstround pick. Braylan Twice is and edge
(17:37):
rushing for them, He's gonna bea first round pick. They've got guys
who are gonna go early in thedraft on the offensive line. Like,
it's not just this like Pac twelve, Pennis, you know, Aaron running
gun beating bad team's thing. Washington'slegit and they're here to stay. Does
that mean they'll make the playoff?Does that mean they'll be able to make
it through? Maybe the best packtwelve of all time unscathed. I don't
know, but I maybe I'm goingtoo far on Pence, but I think
(18:00):
Penn State in Florida State would bethe two teams i'd look at. I
think Penn State's got a little moredudes than Florida State in terms of NFL
dudes for like the coming years. But we'll say Florida State's probably got a
better coach. One more game I'llhit on at noon. Here, give
me the Orange. I'm betting againstClemson for the fifth straight time out of
five games. Give me Syracuse plusseven and a half. The last time
(18:22):
Clemson took their second loss early, they failed to cover the next three and
lost one outright. The Tigers havenot covered three straight against Syracuse and are
one in five against the spread intheir past six against Syracuse. Syracuse is
seven and two against spread in thelast nine in this matchup. The todd
listen to this that Clemson has givenup thirty six points on turnovers in twenty
twenty three, compared to thirty eightin fourteen games last season. Dj ue
(18:45):
Ungelola deserves some apologies, So I'vebeen saying that since last year it was
not DJ's fault. Clemson's oz andtwo in the ACC for the first time
since twenty ten. When Kay clubNick has a clean pocket, he's putting
up an eighty two PFF passing grade. He averages eight yards per attempt eight
touchdowns compared to zero interceptions. Theproblem when he's under pressure, the PFF
(19:07):
grade drops to thirty four, whichis worse in the country. When pressured
with a certain amount of passes thrown, his yards per attempt mark drops to
three point nine and he's committed sixturnoverworthy plays. He just can't handle any
sort of pressure at all, andthe offensive line isn't what it used to
be at Clemson under club Nick orunlike Club Nick. On the other side,
Garrett S. Trader has really steppedup for Syracuse. He can actually
(19:30):
throw under pressure. On twenty sevenpoint six percent of his drop packs.
Where he's under pressure, he's averagingfourteen yards per attempt, which is the
best mark in college football for quarterbackswho have over one hundred drop backs this
season. That's going to be necessaryagainst a still good Clemson defensive line.
I think he can handle the pressurefrom Clemson's defensive line. Give me Syracuse.
There's thirteen two and one against thespread in its first six games of
(19:52):
the season since twenty twenty one.Syracuse a notorious fast starter, and Dino
Baber's teams get worse down the stretch. I think they win this game.
I think this is like a workyear moment for Syracuse, like it'll be
a big moment. I don't thinkit'll be as impressive as you know,
as we think it is, becauseI don't think Clemson's that good. Yeah,
so I think Syracuse covers and Ithink they win the game. Do
(20:12):
you think we're sticking a fork inClemson for the season they're done. That's
kind of what I agree with. It's interesting because you look at the losses.
They're not bad. They lost toTennessee thirty one to fourteen. Tennessee's
obviously very good. Or I'm sorrythey lost last year. I'm sorry they
lost to Duke twenty eight to seven. That has aged far better than I
think most expected, now that Dukehas become legit. That was kind of
a statement when it happened that whenwe saw the Duke win, I don't
(20:34):
think anybody expected Duke to take theleaps that they really have, and today
they have an opportunity to take thateven further if they can get a result.
The loss of Florida State also doesn'tconcern me in overtime thirty one twenty
four, but they haven't They've beatenFlorida Atlantic, Yeah, Florida Atlantic and
Charleston Southern, So I think thatthey kind of need this result. They
must win for Clemson. But Ithink regardless that this is a team that
(20:56):
doesn't quite have it. It hasn'tlooked quite right, and there's just not
that like Burst or Jazz is thatI feel like a Clemson team typically has.
They're just kind of a boring footballteam that's not quite good enough.
Yeah, I think they'll be likeeight and four, yea, seven and
five. I think they'll probably loseto Notre Dame in a couple of weeks.
I think they're maybe gonna lose today, and I think they could lose
to Miami when they play Miami.I don't know if they played North Carolina,
but they have a tough schedule remaining. It's not like they just have
(21:17):
a bunch of clubcakes. I don'tsee Clemson just figuring it out with kay
club Nick. Maybe if they wentto a backup and he had I don't
even know who their backup is,to be honest. But let's move on
to the next game. It's abig game. Texas number three in the
country. I'm going against him.I'm all aboard the Kansas Jayhawks. I
got this line early. I gotit at seventeen and a half. I
also sprinkled a unit on the moneyline, but this is my best bet.
(21:38):
Kansas plus seventeen and a half fiveunits. I sprinkled one unit on
plus six seventy five on the moneyline. That's down to like plus five
fifty. Kansas is down to sixteenand a half or sixteen, depending where
you're looking. But I would takethat still. I've been drinking the Kansas
kool aid since last year. Ibelieve fully in Lance Lephold and Jaylen Daniels.
They returned to the most production inthe country. The Kansas rushing attack
(21:59):
is one of the most dynamic inthe country, and it was last year.
They're averaging over five yards per perrushi attempt. They they're getting twenty
fourth and rushing success rate. DevinNeil had had a thousand yards last year.
He already has four hundred yards. He's forced twenty four miss tackles,
averaging three and a half yards perrush After contact. He's averaging one hundred
yards per game, an impressive sevenyards per carry, and has five touchdowns.
(22:22):
He's been unreal. And that's notto mention the best player on their
offense, Jalen Daniels, who's oneof the best quarterbacks in the country.
He's top ten. If if Iwas making a list of my quarterbacks,
Jayalen Daniels will be on that topten. Last year, he led the
country an EPA per pass that hascontinued into this season. He was the
number one graded PF passer last year. He is the number one PFF graded
(22:42):
passer again this season. He's thebest quarterback Texas is face this year.
I understand they beat Alabama. Alabama'sgot a quarterback issue. If Alabama had
Jayalen Daniels, Alabama would have wonthat game. I'll just be quite honest
about that. Kansas ranks third andpassing success rate and is once again top
ten EPA per pass opponents have hadsome success throwing against Texas. They ranked
(23:03):
sixty seventh and passing success rate allowedand seventy eighth and EPA EPA per pass
allowed. Wyoming was able to passthe ball well on Texas. Kansas is
a much better passing attack than Wyoming. Kansas is four and oh against the
spreads against AP ranked opponents since thestart of the twenty eighteen season. Not
to mention, Kansas has covered fiveof its last six games against Texas.
(23:25):
They've been a thorn in the Texasside and even beat Texas in twenty twenty
one in Lighthold and Daniel's first year. In a year they went two and
ten. The year before that, even pre Lighthold they lost by two.
It's not like Kansas has played nobody. They handled Illinois, they handled BYU
with very little issue. They coveredboth games. Those are solid football teams.
I am putting the Texas Longhorns onupset alert. Wow, Kansas can
(23:49):
win this game, but they willcover the number. Dude, what is
that? What is happening with thesebasketball schools taken over the college twenty five?
We got Kansas and Duke in there. What is this March Kentucky Louisville
happening. It feels like March already. But Michigan State though, Yeah,
but I do agree. I thinkthis seventeen and a half is far too
(24:10):
big for two ranked teams here thatnumber has dropped to sixteen. I mostly
agree with what you said there.I will say, Quinn Youers has opened
my eyes. He was a guythat I came in more skeptical of when
I talked about the quarterback play, and he has proved some stuff to me
this ship that he's looked very solid, very good, better than I had
imagined him at and remembered him asfrom last year. So I'm happy to
see him taking those steps forward.I'm not counting out Texas as being a
(24:33):
legit title contender. I think thisis going to be a week where they're
gonna have to scrap for it alittle bit, and I just think that
number is too high. But Ido think Texas gets to win outright and
stays undefeated time. I forgot tomention my favorite reason. I can't believe
I just buried the lead. Iforgot to mention my favorite reason. I
like the bet. Do you knowwho Texas plays next week? Who's that
Oklahoma. They play in the RedRiver Shootout, their biggest game of the
year, their rivalry game, welllook ahead at the Texas State Fair.
(24:56):
This is the ultimate look ahead herefor the for the Texas Oklahoma rivalry.
You can make the argument two withOklahoma who's playing Iowa State. I just
think Iowa State stinks, so Ican't make that bet. But this is
Kansas, this is the Kansas superBowl, whereas for Texas, this is
a look ahead game. So Ido really really love this. And by
the way, you mentioned being impressedwith queenn Ewers. That goes with my
(25:17):
next bet. I'll take the overhere as well. At sixty one.
I think it's at sixty one anda half, I would take that as
well. This is a three unitplay for me. The last three overs
have went way over in Kansas Texas. Both of these offenses are playing at
an above average pace in terms ofseconds per play, so I think we'll
see a high scoring affair there.Texas hasn't put up the offensive numbers we've
(25:37):
been expecting, but it's still atop twenty team and explosiveness, so they've
shown that. You know, maybethey can't grind out the drives in the
way we want. But like Isaid earlier, with Kentucky, they can
make those big plays happen. TheJayhawks have maybe been the craziest combination of
defensive rankings in college football. Theyrank fifth and generating havoc, but they
sit dead last and finishing drives allowed, which feels perfect for betting overs in
(26:00):
that situation. Eleven of the thirteenKansas road games since the start of twenty
twenty one have gone over the total. So I like this over at sixty
one Kansas Texas, which I thinkplays with Kansas keeping it close as well.
Yeah, I liked it as well. I'm gonna throw a little under
for you here, Mark Kerry. So this is not a game that will
be a sexy pick for anyone. This is not one you should be locked
deer couch. But I do suggestthis as a worthwhile investment and flip onto
(26:23):
a more entertaining game. I likethe under in the Eastern Michigan versus Central
Michigan game. I got it atforty seven and a half. It's down
to forty five now. It openedat forty eight. This is just two
bad teams playing football. I'll startout with Eastern Michigan. They're coming off
a week in which they were blankedby Jacksonville State twenty one to nothing.
In this matchup, Eastern Michigan averagejust two point four yards per play,
(26:44):
and they were one for fifteen onthird downs. Their quarterback Austin Smith,
has been brutal. He's averaging justfive point four yards per attempt this year
and has a lowly fifty point sixpassing grade on PFF. Central Michigan is
slightly better in that department. Theirdefense is definitely worse, which opens the
door for some points to be scored. But I just don't think Eastern Michigan
is capable that when we're looking atthem as a season. As far as
(27:06):
what they've put up, They've eclipsedthirty three in the first week against Howard
and then dropped down to just sixagainst Minnesota, nineteen against UMass, and
then zero against Jacksonville State last week. These are two teams that neither of
them are fast in their pace ofplay, Eastern Mission ranking ninety fourth and
seconds per play and Central Michigan atone hundred and twenty second. So I
think this is going to be aborning football game, one not worth watching.
(27:29):
You click the submit button on thatunder, and then you flipped to
another game. The Directional Michigan's Easternand Central there, that's what they call
Eastern and Western Central, the DirectionalMichigan's. So that, yeah, I
like that. I like that.I like your going under. What's I
used to have a term for that. Last year we had a term for
it wasn't sicko mode. It wassomething like that. We had some Oh
(27:52):
my god, the money's in thecrumbs that. Oh, I'm out of
it, guys, So I needto woo, I need to wake up.
That money's in the crumbs is RicoBosco saying, my saying that I
took and turned. The money's inthe dumpster. Okay, I'm with that
money's in the dumpster. That's whatit was. We need like an Oscar
(28:14):
the Grouch drop on that. Ilove trash. We need that. I'd
be good. But let's get tomy next one here. At seven thirty,
give me the Cox South Carolina.Give me the game Cox plus twelve
and a half at Tennessee for threeunits, and I'll take the money line.
I'll sprinkle on it at plus fourhundred the game Cox Stunned Tennessee at
home last November, South Carolina's fourand one against the spread and its last
(28:37):
five as a visitor. They wonsixty three thirty eight and a game.
Spencer Rattler went absolutely you know bananasin that game, had the best game
of his life, four undred thirtyeight yards, six touchdowns. Game Cox
scored twenty eight straight points, turninga tight game with the Valls into a
blowout once Hendon Hooker went down. And in that game, Joe Milton proved
he ain't the guy. He's stillnot the guy that cost ten to see
(29:00):
a spot in the playoff. Iunderstand people are pointing that and saying TONI
see is gonna come out mad. They don't have the same team they had
last year. Though. Under Shanethis is a crazy stat. Under Shane
Beamer, South Carolina has been adouble digit underdog ten times. The Gamecocks
have won four of them outright.Since twenty twenty one, no Power five
team has won as many games asa double digit underdog as South Carolina,
(29:22):
who's won four. Nobody else haswon three, let alone nobody else of
winning four in that situation. SoSouth Carolina Shane Beamer are the exact.
That's the exact duo that you wantto be backing as a huge, huge
underdog. They've proven that they throwthe ball at the twenty nine ties rate
in the country. Volunteers are onehundred and tenth and oppotent completion percentage allowed.
(29:42):
Milton is ranked as one hundred andsixth best quarterback in the nation by
PFF. South Carolina is really weakin the secretary. I don't think Milton
can exploit it. I think SouthCarolina can exploit Tennessee's weakness. I don't
think vice versa. So that's whyI'm on South Carolina and I think they
can win the game, just likeKansas. My big take one of South
Carolina or Kansas is pulling off theupset today. Okay, maybe I should
(30:03):
say one of them are Syracuse, but I think it's one of South Carolina
or Kansas are pulling off the upset. Yeah, I'm more on board with
the South Carolina pick as far asupset potential that I can see that they
had the massive upset last year thatthey can kind of look for a repeat
here. They are that type ofteam. They are scrappy. I do
think the numbers too too high.Here. So this is another that I
leaned towards the points. But ifI'm comparing this to the Kansas game,
(30:25):
that I give South Carolina a betterchance to pull off that upset. Let's
move on to one that I don'twant to talk about. Oh, I
don't want to. I don't wantto. I bet against my team.
I know it's a violation, butI bet Duke plus six and a half.
It's a small play, one unit. This is gross. It's just
gross to talk about. The BlueDevils are twelve and five against the spread
(30:48):
overall, seven and seven and oneagainst spread as the dog under coach Mike
Elko, six and one against thespread as a home dog since the start
of last year. Mike Elko's Duketeam beat Sam Hartman at Wake Forest last
year, and he had a prettybad game against his defense. Last year.
Duke thrived in its last primetime nationallytelevised game, where they absolutely pummeled
(31:08):
Clemson. The seventeenth ranked Blue Devilscould absolutely do it again here. The
most notable change this year from lastyear has been the play of Duke's defense,
which has allowed just five touchdowns infour games. Duke ranked inside the
top twenty in EPA, ranks insidethe top twenty in EPA EPP rush and
rushing explosiveness, which is big fora team that runs the ball almost fifty
(31:30):
seven percent of the time. Dukehas a chance to reach five and oh
for the first time since winning thefirst seven games of the nineteen ninety four
season. This is the first timea ranked Duke team has hosted a ranked
opponent since the twenty third ranked BlueDevils beaten number thirteen Virginia in November nineteen
ninety four, before anyone in thisroom was born. So yeah, I
(31:51):
one bad stat. Notre Dame haswon twenty nine street regular season games against
ACC opponents since losing in twenty seventeento Miami. So for fans, it's
like, I'm rooting for this betto lose, but I think it's gonna
be a low scoring game. Duke'sgonna run and control the clock. So
giving me six and a half pointsin a game that I truly do think
is a toss up in a fiftyfifty ball of who's gonna win the game,
(32:15):
I think it's If I had tomake a pick on the game,
it's Duke. Because when Notre Dameloses, they generally lose in bunches.
Nine to the last twelve years, they've lost two games Street at some point
in the year, and in twentytwenty two and twenty twenty, after losing
their first game, they lost theirsecond game the next week. I do
think there's an emotional gut punch towhat happened last week. Your season's over,
(32:35):
yeah, so I mean, Iguess you could win out, but
their schedule is so hard, Duke, Louisville, Clemson, USC. There's
so many good teams left on theschedule. Two tough are being three tough
road trips, So I just don'tsee a way. I mean, they
could win every game and they willget to the playoff due to how tough
that schedule is. But I thinkit's too hard of an undertaking, and
I think it's an emotional gut punch. I think Duke wins the game.
(32:59):
Yeah. It's funny sat up herewith Jeremy all morning talking about how I
was I didn't want to come atyour neck by having Duke here, that
I thought you're gonna be upset byme betting against your boys, And I'm
very surprised to see you on thesame side, but I do think Duke
is the more complete football team thereat home. This is the first college
football game day at Duke and foreverforever. Yeah, literally the first one
(33:20):
there. You can see all thefans hyped. I do think this is
gonna be the best football experience atDuke University ever. I think people are
gonna show up do this game. And I'll even go as far as to
say that you can keep the pointsthat I do think Duke wins out right
in this one. I think thatthat is the ultimate gut punch and how
they lost that last game, justdriving down at the end, kind of
sticking the knife in and twist itto lose that one. It's tough to
get back up after that one.And I'll even go as far as to
(33:43):
say, I don't think the gapbetween Sam Hartman and Riley Leonard is as
big as it should be. AndI'll even say, like, that's pretty
close there. Riley Leonard, whilethese stats don't pop as much as Hartman's,
for sure, he's got that dogin him that he that kid knows
how to play. He's a winner. He leaves it all on the floor
his feet or a real I've beenthere. He's got some like Josh Allen
in his game that I can see, and I really like him as a
(34:04):
quarterback. So I think Duke's gonnashow up tonight, and I think they
went out right. Yeah, Iagree, but I would say take the
points because I do think it's gonnabe low scoring. Sure, So I
think it's gonna be low scoring.I do think Notre Dame has a chance
to win for sure, and there'sa chance they come out and blow them
out, but that would be ifNotre Dame runs all over them and they
running game didn't look that good lastweek. Notre Dame should have a massive
advantage in the trenches, but theysaid that about Clemson in Week one.
(34:24):
I've been this is less about NotreDame than me. Actually, I've been
higher on Duke since July. LikeI've been pumping Duke, and I gave
their over as one of good favoritefavorite win totals. I think it was
six and a half or seven anda half or good football. Tel good
about that right now. Another teamI feel good about, surprisingly the Alabama
Crimson Tide at nine o'clock. I'mI love Alabama minus fourteen at Mississippi State.
(34:47):
This is has a lot to dowith Alabama, but it has even
more to do with Mississippi State. The Crimson Tide haven't lost outright to Mississippi
State since two thousand and seven, and there's seven and one against spread in
their past eight against the Bulldogs.Saban absolutely owns Mississippi State. Mississippi State
has failed to cover each of itspast four games as a home underdog.
Mississippi State is one and six againstthe spread and its last seven SEC games,
(35:08):
Mississippi State has just lost without MikeLeach. As Brandon Walker would say,
they shouldn't even be playing football. You can't come after them. They
should be mourning. Yes, whyBrandon Walker won't take any crap online for
his team being bad because he's stillmourning. Mississippi State's top running back is
her. Their defense gave up explosiveplays as well as long, excruciating drives
to South Carolina. It's a badcombination of things to give up there.
(35:30):
I just don't think they promoted theirdefensive coordinator, Zacharnett to be the head
coach. I don't think he's theguy. I don't think he's an SEC
head coach. And I think it'sgonna show today against a really smart coaching
staff in Alabama. So Alabama's defensehas been really good since the lost of
Texas. They've only given up fivefifty nine, five hundred fifty nine yards
and thirteen points combined. Against SouthFlorida and Mississippi. They sacked Rebels quarterback
(35:52):
Jackson Dart five times in the twentyfour to ten win. They played their
best game of the season against allmissforcing four punts and living him to one
point nine yards per carry. Alabama'sgonna be favored in every game for the
rest of the year. They'll probablybe right back in the SEC championship after
everyone wrote their obituary, right,They're going to be back to Jaylen Milroe
a quarterback that's straightforward from now on. Yeah, he's been good. He
(36:13):
was played really well last week. They said that he's the guy for the
rest of the year no matter what. Okay, that's good to hear.
I was pretty optimistic about Milrow cominginto the year, was not after the
start of the season. The armdoes not look to be there. There
also seems like a lack of confidence, as can be seated by him being
benched in Game two and just theplay call. When watching it feels like
they're afraid to give him the opportunityto mess up. And I read into
(36:35):
that a lot when watching guys whenthinking about like how to evaluate them as
talents is how much does their teamtrust them to allow them to go out
and make the play. I don'tfeel very strongly about the way with Jaylen
Milroll. I feel like he's ona pretty tight leash. I think Alabama
wins this game end covers because theyare the more complete team because Mississippi State
is not a good team. ButI'm I guess I'm just I'm still not
ready to buy back in on someAlabama stock. I'm not as optimistic on
(36:57):
you as getting them at a lowpoint now and watching them build up.
I think they're pretty limited as aceiling as a team this year, mainly
because of the mill Row factor. And I am disappointed because I was pretty
high on him coming into the year. My leans that I didn't bet here.
I like A and M minus fiveand a half at Arkansas at noon.
I'm just afraid Max Johnson, thebackup quarterback coming in. He was
good last week. I don't knowif he can do that again, So
I am afraid to bet that oneand then eight o'clock I do lean.
(37:20):
Virginia Tech plus two and a halfagainst Pitt. Pitt is terrible. I'm
going into Blacksburg's tough, but forVirginia Tech as a train wreck. So
I just couldn't get behind that andbet them. So I'm staying away those
two. You said you had thatunder you were on Duke. I think
you had two other plays. I'llthrow out my last one here. I'm
gonna take Washington. I got atminus at eighteen and a half. That
is up to minus nineteen. Nowthat's tonight against Arizona. I'm pretty in
(37:45):
on this Washington team. I reallycan't wait to see them when the tougher
part of their schedule approaches. Butthe numbers that these guys are putting up
are just unreal, averaging forty ninepoint eight points per game this year.
I don't think that Arizona defense hasany chance of slowing him down. Michael
Pennox is simply too good. Butthings that are doing on that offense are
unbelievable. I mean, Washington hadtallied one hundred and ninety nine total points
through their first four games. That'shard to do. They ranked third in
(38:07):
the country. With that, theyhave NFL talent surrounding him. I think
Pennix is making a Heisman case forhimself. I think this is gonna be
another example of them just putting uppoints Arizona being unable to match and then
cruising past that nineteen points spread there. I think Washington jumps up early in
Arizona doesn't find a way to getback in the game. Yeah, it's
definitely the way I would lean onthat one as well. Let's take a
quick break and let's come back.Let's give our NFL picks before we get
(38:30):
over to trill broad dude, Sokeep it locked to the Gambler right here
on the Tuco Radio show The GamblerPhillies Home for all thinking sports gambling.
(39:00):
Welcome back to the Tough Cover RadioShow. Coming back. We took a
little bit too much time there withcollege. It's a big college car,
so we dove into it, kindof kind of short change the NFL here,
So we're gonna we're gonna run throughthe picks. Were what's the two
minute drill here? I guess it'sa really like a like an eight.
(39:22):
Yeah, yeah, eight nine minutedrill to get you through fourteen of my
picks here in the NFL. It'sbad because I love this slee. But
we're having drill on in the twelveo'clock hour, we're gonna be talking a
ton about this week in the NFLwith him, and then we're gonna we're
gonna talk a little bit more aboutit in the second hour as well.
But let's start it out. Let'stalk about the first game, which isn't
(39:43):
at one o'clock. It's in London. Mate. I don't have much of
a I don't have much of anaccent. That's why I played Wonderwall shout
out too. You know. Ithink they're they're from close to close to
that area something. Yeah, yeah, somewhere. It's not in England,
you know. American. Yeah,Americans do not know geography, apparent I
get. Yeah. Yeah, Solet's let's go to the Let's go to
London, and let's bet on theLondon Jags. The Jags minus three.
(40:07):
It's one of my absolutely favorite it'smy favorite bet of the NFL Sunday that
isn't jail and hurts anytime touchdown becausethat almost doesn't count. It's my favorite
bet every week, but taking thatout, it's my favorite bet on a
side is Jags minus three this week. Favorites I've excelled in international games.
They're twenty nine nine and one straightup, twenty five and fourteen against the
spread. Favorites at Wembley Stadium specificallyseventeen six and one straight up, fourteen
(40:30):
and ten against the spread. Favoritesof a field goal are more overseas twenty
three, six and one nineteen elevenagainst the spread. The Jags, I
know they lost to the Texans lastweek. It was ugly. They still
outgamed them by one hundred yards andhad seven more first downs than them.
They sucked on third and fourth downand had bad turnover luck. They actually
ranked first if you look at NFLluck ranking. So far, they have
(40:52):
been the unluckiest team in the NFL, and a lot of that comes to
guys not being them and get theirfeet into like they've had a ten drops.
Calvin Ridley is leading the NFL anddrops right now. Just last week
he had two drops and two falsestarts. Almost ten percent of Trevor Lawrence's
passes are being dropped right between hisreceiver's fingers. You have to hope.
That's rust right, Yeah, youhave to hope. So you know what
(41:13):
they were telling him in practice thisweek, apparently you just gotta be you
man. You know that. Youknow that's a bad sign, and that's
the advice, like just be you. It's not good. I had some
concerns about Calvin Ridley. But speakingof Calvin Ridley, if he's ever gonna
break out, this is the revengegame. It's Alanna Falcons, It's a
team he was bet in the lockerroom for check his bet slips this week.
(41:34):
Yeah, exactly, it's gonna besome Calvin Ridley parlays over there in
London. They can't catch it.It's overseas international waters. But Atlanta,
on the flip side, was alsoreally bad last week. They only gained
one hundred and eighty three yards againstthe Lions. They lost by two scores.
This is crazy. They lost bytwo scores while Detroit committed one hundred
and nineteen penalty yards and he stilllost by two scores. Like that's crazy.
(41:55):
The only thing that Jacks have donewell through three weeks in the trenches,
stop the run. Guess what that'sgoing to be massive against the Falcons
a team that can only run thefootball. Desmond Ritter has no ability to
throw a forward pass, so it'sall about stopping the run when it comes
to the Falcons, He's a bottomfive quarterback in EPA plus completion percentage over
expected. He's been far better athome than on the road dating back to
(42:19):
high school and college. If youlook at his numbers, it's crazy.
I don't think he's lost a homegame in his life or something crazy like
that, or he's never not covered. It's something like that dating back to
college. I don't know if theyhad spreads into high school games, but
the Falcons are just three and eightagainst the spread in their last eleven games
overall OZ and six straight up intheir last six road games. Jags are
six and one against spread in theirlast seven games. Teams of quarterbacks who
(42:44):
were sacked seven plus times in theirprevious games are eighty six, one,
thirteen and five in their next game. Over the last twenty years, there
are two teams that fit that moldas it had a quarterback it's sacks seven
plus times last week. One ofthem is the Falcons. I'll be betting
it's the other one. In justa minute, but one o'clock. I
got the jersey on for a reason. It's not to Rep. Louisville win
(43:06):
in thirteen ten yesterday. It's forthe back Lamar Lamar Jackson. That's a
Lamar that this is a Lamar respectbet. Did you know Lamar Jackson is
the greatest regular season against the spreadunderdog quarterback of all time the history of
(43:27):
football. He's played twelve games asa regular season underdog. He is a
eleven zero and one against the spreadin those twelve games, six and oh
against the spread as a dog inthe last three years. I don't think
people would know that that he's thebest underdog quarterback of all time, most
underrated quarterback. Maybe ever, itmight be true too. I mean,
you look at his win win lossrecords forty nine and seventeen or something.
(43:51):
You just doesn't lose football games andno one cares. But whatever, he's
the best underdog quarterback against spread.Like I just said, he's eight and
four straight up in those twelve games. That he's an underdog. That's an
insane, insane stat. Jackson seventeenand six against the spread is a favorite
of three points or less or asan underdog combined. So if the close
(44:12):
spread you want to back. LamarRavens are nineteen and four against spread in
their last twenty three games as anunderdog since twenty eighteen. One of these
losses is Josh Johnson, the otherthree year Tyler Huntley. None of them
are Lamar Jackson. Hardball's twenty gamesover five hundred against the spread as an
underdog fifty four, thirty four andthree against the spread, Jackson six and
(44:34):
two straight up and against spread againstthe Browns, Lamar six and two on
the road in the AFC North. They're the sixth rank passing defense in DVOA.
And you look at how Baltimore lostlast week. Indie made four fifty
plus yard field goals. It wasn'tlike that defense got driven on and driven
on twelve of those points in alow scoring game. Fifty plus yards field
goals brutal miss p I two whichin overtime. That really hurt. But
(44:58):
yeah, I think the the linesgot this wrong. I think the Ravens
should straight up be the favorite.I've seen things shift. Originally they were
plus one thirty only money line theRavens there. I think that's completely wrong.
I saw it plus one oh twotoday, so it's definitely sneaking back
down there. Well, the Watsoninjuries is making sure line go down,
yeah, which I don't even knowhow I feel about that, because Watson,
while he's starting to show some flashesagain, is still I'm not believing
(45:20):
that that guy is still in himcompletely, but the guy that we once
saw there should be some real concernsfor Browns fans. But Lamar Jackson is
straight up my MVP pick right now. He's been that good to start this
year. And the Ravens to meare a dark horse team that I believe
should be in the contending conversation.I think they're right there. I think
two has to be the MVP asof right now. Mars on the outside
looking in, I mean, he'sright there. Speaking of TWA, I'm
(45:42):
betting against him this week. Givehim the Bills minus two and a half
three units on the Bills there.Bill's defense is second, and EPA per
play allowed second and DPA per dropback top ten and rushing success rate aloud.
The Dolphins are the twelfth team inthe last twenty years to be three
and ozho and against the spread endstraight up, but be listed as an
underdog in their fourth game. Thoseprevious eleven teams went two and nine in
that game. Teams after scoring sixtyplus points in their previous game are one
(46:07):
in five straight up and oh andsix against the spread since nineteen seventy.
So you drop a sixty burger, you usually don't win the next week.
It's only happened once through three weeksto it is the favorite twin MVP.
Mike McDaniel is the favorite twin Coachof the Year. Tyreek Hill is the
favorite to win Offensive Player of theYear. I think people probably could be
reading some press clippings this week.If you're the Miami Dolphins after dropping seventy
(46:28):
and then you look at the teamthey're playing, they won by thirty four
this week. It's like the Dolphinswon by fifty the Bills won by thirty
four. Is that really that different? Probably not like it's a blowout blow
blowout to blowout to blow out, kind of just you know, it's different
feathers of a blowout. But theDolphins are just one in nine straight up
in their last ten against the Bills, oh and seven straight up, and
there's less seven against the Bills, while twah is thirteen and five against the
(46:52):
spread at home. He's nine nineand one against the spread on the road.
Josh Allen has fifty eight wins inhis career. Forty four have at
least by a touchdown. That bythe way, if you like the over
here, the total has gone overin twelve of the last seventeen Bills Dolphins
matchups. I do lean over.I don't have it on the card,
but give me the Bills minus twoand a half. There. I'm gonna
(47:12):
skip these two. Get me tothe I want to talk about this one.
Jeremy loves when I bring up revengegames. This is the ultimate revenge
the ultimate revenge game. It's JamisWinston time. It's Jamis Winston times.
Give me the Saints minus three againstthe Tampa Bay Bucks. I think that
lines up to three and a half, but I'll take it at three and
a half as well. Todd Bowlesis one of the worst coaches in the
(47:34):
NFL as an underdog thirteen thirty sevenstraight up, nineteen twenty eight and three
against the spread. As a dogagainst the spread, mark is one hundred
and forty third out of one hundredand forty seven coaches in the last twenty
years. I mean, that's howbad Todd Bowles has been against the spread.
And you look at Baker Mayfield. He's thirty one, forty two and
one against the spread as a dogone hundred and sixteenth of one hundred and
nineteen qbis since he's been in theleague. Mike Evans has faced Marshawn Lattimore
(47:59):
eleven times in his career. Hehas just three touchdowns in five or fewer
catches in ten of those games. The Saints have absolutely owned Tampa. The
Bucks are two and eight against thespread in their last ten meetings versus the
Saints, their least profitable opponent againstspread since twenty nineteen. And then this
is a nice little Eagles stat.Teams after playing the Eagles have struggled in
recent years, which makes a lotof sense. You beat him up in
(48:21):
the trenches. They are nineteen thirtythree and one and nineteen and thirty four
against the spread since twenty twenty. In the week after playing the Eagles,
Tampa coming off not just a gameagainst the Eagles, but a short week
against the Eagles. They played onMonday Night football. They got to be
beat up. I think the Saintscome in and they lay a beat down
and we start to have some fun. Jamis Winston conversations on if he's the
(48:43):
savior for the Jets or if theSaints have to hold on to him.
I think, I really do thinkhe has a big, big Sunday against
Tampa Bay revenge game. By theway, it feels weird the Eagles are
playing at one o'clock this week.It feels strange to see them on like
a normal football schedule. Speaking ofit, Jalen hurts, any time we
rush touchdown eight units, who wouldhave saw that one coming eight units?
After last week? We cashed twelveunits on it last week in sane it's
(49:06):
not plus money. It's sitting atminus one ten this week. So they've
learned a little bit, but notquite enough yet. It's still bettable.
Twenty one rush touchdowns in the lasttwenty games, thirty four rush touchdowns and
forty one starts. When are theygonna learn? It should be minus one
seventy like he's Travis Kelsey or ChristianMcCaffrey. That's honestly what it should be.
But taking that out, it's obviouslymy best bet. I also love
(49:27):
the Eagles minus eight. Sam howhas been sacked nineteen times this season,
which is the most of any quarterback. How that sacked nine times in Washington's
previous game. They're the other teamwho had a quarterback sacked more than seven
times last week. I'm betting againstthem and the Falcons. He had four
picks and nine sacks taken last week. The NFL record for sacks taken in
a season is seventy six, setby David Carr for the Texans and O
(49:49):
two. How's on pace to takeone hundred and seven. I mean,
that's just absolutely unreal. Given thisinformation, it feels like the Eagles are
the worst possible opponent for Washington. Here's a fun little Jail and Hurts stat.
Hurts has won twenty of his lasttwenty one regular season starts. He's
the sixth quarterback in the Super Bowlera to have a stretch like this,
joining Peyton Manning, Tom Brady,Patrick Mahons, Joe Montana, and Jim
(50:12):
McMahon. He was the eighty fiveBears quarterback. But nice company. Jim
McMahon's the man. Yeah, JimMcMahon is the man. Let's move on
real quick. I'm rapid fire, rapid fire four twenty five. I got
five bets on this game. Giveme the Patriots plus seven at the Cowboys.
By the way, they are alive dog to win that game.
Patriots can win that game. We'reall assuming the Patriots aren't good. That's
based on losses close losses to theMiami and Philadelphia. Who might be the
(50:36):
two best teams in football, orat least two of the best teams in
football. I think New England's legit. I think they're gonna be a nine
plus win team. They're definitely ateam that you don't want to play that
they are grinded out, have achance to win every single game, and
a big reason for that is theirdefense. These might be the two best
defenses in the sport. I've almostsaid the country. But give me under
forty three and a half in thisgame, and also first half under twenty
(50:57):
two and a half. So giveme both unders one unit on each.
This goes against it. But revengegame, Jeremy, we need to like
some sort of drop. We needa revenge drop. But Zeke touched down
against the Dallas Cowboys plus two fiftyone unit. Belichick likes that stuff.
Belichick does that type of stuff. He will care enough to do that.
He will do that for Zeke.So give me that Zeke touchdown. Give
me Tony Pollard over seventy and ahalf rush yards. He's done that in
(51:20):
two of the three games this yearin the team. In the game that
he didn't do it, he hadseventy. He's had forty eight carries the
last two weeks twenty. Pollard's astud and he's gonna be out to prove
a little something playing against Zeke onthe other side. Also at four twenty
five, I'm going rapid fire here. I like Jake Moody, the kicker
over seven and a half points forSan Francisco. Also over one and a
half field goals he's done so he'shit three plus field goals in each game
so far this year. He's hadnine plus points in each or he's had
(51:45):
twelve plus points in each game thisyear. If you look at his points,
nobody likes settling for field goals morethan Kyle Shanahan. So give me
Jake Moody on those props and onelast one eleven fifty nine. We need
to get the commercial. But I'dbe remiss if I didn't talk about Jeremy's
Seattle Seahawks. Thank you, Giveme the Seattle Seahawks. Monday night football
money line at the New York Giants. Daniel Jones Primetime Are you kidding Me?
(52:07):
One and twelve straight up? Ohand five straight up at home at
night over the last twenty quarter Overthe last twenty years, ninety six quarterbacks
have made five plus primetime starts.Jones has the lowest wind percentage among any
of them. On the flip side, Pete Carroll thirty four, eighteen and
three against the spread in his careerat night, the best of any head
coach that's active in the NFL,Smith is twenty four twenty Geno geez is
(52:29):
twenty fourteen and two against the spread. As a dog, Give me the
Seahawks. Let's go to break trillbro dude coming up next. Let's slop
him up day and night. Itoss and I keep stressing my mind mind.
(52:57):
I live for what I need forkist, the silly game we play
play. Now, Look at thismadness. The magnet keeps subtracting me.
Me. I try to run tosee. I'm not that fast, I
think the first but surely finished lastlast because day and night and the longer
(53:22):
loaners seems the free at mine atnight. He's all alone due the day
and night and the longer loaner seemsthe free is mine at night and night.
Welcome back to the Tough Cover RadioShow twelve o'clock hour, and we
got one of our absolute favorite guests. We got Trill bro Dude coming on.
(53:42):
He's got a fun announcement. ButJeremy hit the drop, let's slop
him off. Indeed, we're bringingon the slop God, Trill bro Dude,
you can follo him actual bro Dude. He's got a very fun announced
when he's the new full time hostover on the at Bell and the Bird
Eagles podcast feed. They'll be rebrandingthat do you Know Birds you know,
adding another arm to the the youKnow Ball pod army. I'm excited to
(54:07):
hear that announcement and I'm pumped tohave more trilbro Dude football content. Me
and Dred, one of his guysover there on the playback, have been
hopping on and talking football with Trilltwo of the last couple of weeks.
It's been a lot of fun.And he's not just He's not just a
basketball guy Media Empire, he's afootball guy as well, Trilbro, dude,
welcome to the show. Thanks forhaving me back. I appreciate it.
(54:30):
Yeah, I mean, with theway the things have been going with
the Sixers over the last you know, ten months, it's nice to talk
about a team that doesn't make mewant to jump off the Ben Franklin Bridge.
So yeah, I mean, you'reyou're gonna say, I mean,
you're an okay c fan anyway,I don't know who these Sixers are that
you're talking about. You're you've beena long time lifetime Thunder fan. Yes,
(54:52):
it was all a bit, andI said, I love the Sixers
and Daryl Morey and Joel Embiad andJames Harden. I've always been Sam Prestys
the to your GM, and thatI don't I no longer recognize the the
Sixers. So so yeah, it'sgood to talk about the eat my Eagles
and Thunders. Yeah, teams thatwe can respect. And you're Phillies,
(55:15):
right, are you gonna hop onagain for the bandwagon in the playoffs here?
Yeah? Sure, I was.You know, I was at the
far last night talking to Kyle Schwarberand I was like, sure, I'm
I'm a big Kyle Schwarber fan becauseI know that the efficiency calculator, uh,
that of the MLB don't like him, and I just have to support
a fellow hooper. So, uh, he's a total hooper. I love
(55:38):
that take. Kyle Schwarber's absolutely ahooper. He's just a true baller.
But let's talk a little eagle.Let's talk about a football. We're gonna
get to the slop, We're gonnaget to Dame, We're gonna get to
Drew, get to all that stuff. But real quick, let's talk about
some football. Let's talk about theEagles. We're sitting at three and oz
here obviously, Yet you know,if you looked on Phillies or you look
(55:58):
on Eagles Twitter by like Penn Statejust ran a tush push. It's funny
that that's taken over. Yeah,it's taken taken over the planet there.
But Eagles three and oh. Youlook at Twitter, you listen to the
radio, I think you'd probably thinkthey were one and two or two and
one. You'd think there's a tonof teams that look incredible and a ton
of teams that were three and oh. There seems to be some freak out.
Seems to be kind of a youknow, worry especially about the offense,
(56:21):
about the play calling, about JalenHurts. Where are you, I
guess on the worriometer on a oneto ten about how the play calling,
how the offense, and how Jalenhave looked. I'm cool as cucumber.
I'm not worried right now about anything. You're three and O you. The
thing about Jalen is that I justtrust. I mean, you came on
(56:43):
the stream after the first game,Mark and you were in the second game,
and you were basically saying, youknow, I trust Siriani to figure
it out over the course of theseason. I'm not too worried about the
offense. And look, did itlook amazing against the eat the Tampa Bay
Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. No, But also they were pretty much getting
(57:07):
whatever they wanted in between the twenties. It's really just when they got down
into Tampa vary territory that they werekind of struggling to finish off drives.
You know, Jalen was a littlebit inaccurate in the red zone through an
interception, through two interceptions, andthen you know, obviously had some miscommunications
and some bad throws, but onthe whole, I felt like it was
(57:28):
his best game of the season, and I feel like they were making steps
in the right direction. When DeAndreSwift is able to do literally whatever he
wants and the offensive line is runblocking the way that they are, that's
such a solid foundation to build on, and I feel like that I'm not
I'm not really concerned in the sameway that I was after weeks one and
two, when it felt like theoffense was completely staggnedant and unable to really
(57:52):
get anything going until the end ofgames. So yeah, I'm good.
I'm fully bad after the last twogames. That kind of just I think
they're headed in the right direction andthey're going to figure this thing out.
Yeah. One of the things thatgives me the most optimism regarding Jalen Heard
specifically is number one, the headon his shoulders. The guy just gets
(58:14):
it. And number two, itlooks like he's getting better at each game
and it feels like we're building towardsit. They're facing off with the Commanders
nine and a half points spread thatthis week. This feels like to me
the week where we might see likethe peak of what the Eagles could look
like that they're kind of shaking offthe dust of the off season, hitting
their stride a little bit, trill. Do you think this is the week
that we kind of see things infull force? Yeah, I think so.
(58:35):
I mean, I think the Washingtonmatchup is going to be a good
matchup for US. I mean, the last two weeks, Washington's defense has
been able to stop literally no one. And then in addition to that,
they also have the fact that youknow their defense specific colleague, I'm sorry,
their offensive line on the other sideof the ball, it's just unable
to protect the quarterback. And ifthat's the case, I think we're going
(58:55):
to see a ton of sacks.I think we're going to see a lot
of potential turnover that will get theEagles in good field position and they'll be
able to build on that. LikeI'm just I'm genuinely not concerned at all
about this game tomorrow, which Iknow those are classic final words, especially
when you consider the only game thatthey've lost in the last regular season game
(59:15):
that they've lost in like the lasttwo calendar years was against Washing So it
is kind of tempting fate. ButI just think the Eagles are a much
better football team, and I thinkthat you're totally right. I think that
they'll come out aggressive from the jump, but I think they'll want to send
a message now that they've had afew weeks to warm up. Like I
said, preseason is three weeks. We got our preseason. Over starters didn't
(59:37):
really play, especially Jalen. Hedidn't play at all in the preseason.
So the preseason is over and nowthe seasons can start. Yeah, I'm
with you. I think it's aroute. I think it's the worst possible
matchup for Washington with the O lineissues that they're having. I think this
is kind of a statement game forthe Eagles. So looking kind of outside
of the Eagles real quick looking tothe Dallas Cowboys, and obviously they had
(59:58):
their loss to the Arizona card that'sa big favorite last week. I think
apologies are due for Jonathan Gannon, but that's a whole other conversation. But
the Dallas Cowboys lost, and obviouslyit's a little bit of a fluke.
I don't think we think that DallasCowboys aren't like better than the Arizona Cardinals,
But are you looking at that lossas like, all right, everyone
needs to pump the brakes. Theyweren't as good as everyone was saying.
(01:00:21):
They weren't on Philly and San franslevel, or do you think it was
a total fluke, Because to me, it was obviously somewhat flukish that they
lost the game, But I neverput them on that Philadelphia San Francisco level,
So it's pretty easy for me topoint out him and say, I
think they're eligible to lose this weekagainst New England and then they have a
tough game against San fran I wouldn'tbe shocked if Dallas is two and three
(01:00:43):
after the first five weeks. Whereare you at on Dallas? So you
were kind of on this bandwagon fromthe jump of the season about you know,
let's let's look at who they're playing. You know, you have sug
Jets with Zach Wilson, who,as we've discussed many times, is what
the fifty fifth quarterback in the NFL, not even like a top fifteen backup
(01:01:04):
in the NFL. So you canprobably kind of write that game off from
Dallas dominating that and then you know, look, the Giants have looked better
that Week one destruction ballast, butyou know Trayvon digs for the season,
and I know that he's kind ofbeen up and down in his career,
but at the end of the day, you know, this is a guy
who made the Pro Bowl last year, I believe. And then addition that
(01:01:27):
he actually started off the year reallygood for them tears hiss acl and then
they lose three offensive alignment if herlast week's game. That's why I think
it is a bit flukish, justbecause if you look at the statistical profile,
if you watch the game, itwas kind of similar to the way
that the Eagles played against the Buccaneers, but the the Cowboys had a ton
(01:01:51):
of opportunities that they blew and theCardinals were able to take advantage of it
in a way that the Buccaneers weren'tin their in their game. So I
kind of see it as a bitflutish, But I still view Dallas as
I would say that so far,if you were to tear the teams just
based on what they've looked like, you remove everything that we know about these
(01:02:13):
teams, the playoff history, youknow, the NFC Championship game last year,
all that stuff. I do thinkSan Francisco has looked like They're in
a bit of tier of their ownto start the year. I would then
put the Eagles and the Cowboys inhalf a tier down Right now, I
think that I would put the Eaglesabove because look, they haven't lost the
game so far, and obviously theyhaven't had the toughest competition, but neither
(01:02:35):
as Dallas. And Dallas lost thegame to the tanking Arizona Cardinals, so
I don't take too much from thatgame. But it also kind of reminds
me of why I never I alwayscall them the Sixers of the NFL.
The Cowboys, like I will neverbelieve in their true ceiling as long as
Mike McCarthy is calling the plays, and as you know, great as Dad
(01:02:57):
can be one of the most accuraterepects in the NFL, I still think
the team might limit your ceiling whenhe is your quarterback, especially when you
have a play caller like Mike McCarthywho's so incredibly conservative. And by the
way, Kellen Moore wasn't the problem. Charger's offense looks great with a real
Q big. I'm just saying no, Kellen Moore was definitely not the problem.
Anyone that was trying to blame Dakstruggles on that that was very misguided
(01:03:21):
in my opinion, there I wouldmake it. I think I think San
fran and Philly are in a tiertogether, and then I think the tier
down from that is probably Detroit andDallas, and then it's everyone else.
That's probably how I would tear itpersonally. I guess I'll go there next
Thursday Night football. Detroit is threeand one. I've been pretty skeptical on
Detroit all along. It's hard forme to poke too many holes in that
(01:03:43):
Thursday night win on the road.Even if you're not that high on Green
Bay, it's a tough place toplay. Is Detroit kind of eking their
way into this conversation of it waskind of that top three and then Dallas
last, and it's the top twoin Dallas. Maybe is Detroit kind of
hanging around than that conversation. Ican't get there yet. I look and
(01:04:03):
that they've had a nice start tothe year. They could before a no
easily they honestly, I thought thatthey were the better team in that Seahawks
Lions game. They kind of chokedthe game away in my opinion, but
they could easily be four and oto start this season and everyone would be
a ride. And I obviously lookguys like to play for Dan Campbell.
He seems like he's got a goodhold on the locker room. They've got
(01:04:25):
us on a talent for sure. But I just keep going back to the
facts that, like, one,how do we trust Jared Goff at the
higher levels without a play caller,an offensive mind like Sean McVeigh. And
as good as these surroundings are inDetroit, I think that it's not quite
as much talent as he had whenhe was with the Rams. I just
(01:04:46):
can't really buy into a Jared Goffplayoff team. And it's not to say
that Jared Goff is bad. Ithink Jared Goff is perfectly find starting quarterback.
I just I'm skeptical until I seeit at the higher levels in the
regular season. Sure they could wineleven twelve games and have a really nice
regular season, I'm just skeptical coalof them is like a legit contender.
(01:05:11):
And I honestly go back to theirdraft and I say, if they just
had like a normal first round,I would be so much higher on them,
But they decided to trade back anddraft a running back in a linebacker
and that has not really worked outfor them so hard. Now, Brian
Branch has been awesome. He waslike a first round talent they got in
the second round, so that makesup for a little bit certainly. But
(01:05:32):
I'm just like, man, I'mso glad the team did not end up
getting one of those guys at thetop of the draft, the Christian Gonzalez
or Jalen Carter that really could havetaken them up to the next level in
my opinions. Yeah, and theyalso have not been giving Gibbs the ball
nearly as much as I've expected basedon the reaction by that draft pick.
But I wanted to circle back tothe quarterback talking conversation. Even when you
(01:05:54):
bring up guys like Jaed Goff,Dak Prescott, Brack Party, it's interesting
to me. As much as wewant to sugarcoat things, look at defense,
look at coaches, quarterback plays sucha strong role in the overall ceiling
of a team, and as welook around the NFC specifically, I really
don't see a quarterback in competition withJalen Harts for the best quarterback in the
NFC. I think Dak Prescott andBrock Party are probably the stiffest competition,
(01:06:15):
and to me, it's pretty clearthat I'm taking Jalenharts over either those.
So do you think that overall issuch a strong reason for the Eagles to
have confidence in themselves? And doyou think there's anybody else that's kind of
in that conversation that I guess I'mmissing. Am I going to sound like
an insane person and say that Kirkcousins and has been I know they're own
three, so it doesn't really matter. But he has been so good to
(01:06:39):
start the year in a way thatI've never really anticipated from Kirk and Ook.
Kirk's had really good regular seasons before. He's got you know, arguably
the best player in the NFL,justin Jefferson throwing the ball too. But
I think if you're going based onthis season and what we know, Kirk
has really made a case. Butthat doesn't really matter because the Vikings just
(01:07:00):
don't have the team to make animpact. Now. If he gets traded
to another NFC team, or ifhe you know, we talked about the
Jets before, that would be interestingto me. And obviously that's another decent
quarterback moved to the other conference withwhich we would welcome with open arms.
I still am Look, I said, I said to Mark after week one.
I was like, look, Perny'sjust good man, Like I don't
(01:07:23):
think he's, you know, gonnachange your life. But Mark compared him
to Jimmy Garoppolo when he was inSan Francisco, and that's kind of all
they need for their offense to getto at least say NFC championship level.
The question becomes, can he liftthem up in the game where you know,
like Jay Lytton almost did in theSuper Bowl, you know, kind
of dragging the team to victory atthe higher levels, and I am skeptical
(01:07:46):
of that. I've called him theluckiest quarterback in the NFL in the history
of the NFL on Twitter times becauseI watched games and it's like this guy
just throws five interceptions every game, but they never get picked off. Like
there was to play the other nightin that game where he threw a tip
there was a tip pass that innine out of ten quarterbacks to throw that
(01:08:09):
pass, it gets intercepted or isit in completion, and you know,
ball bounces up in the air andI believe it was Divo. Samuel caught
it out of the air and gota first down like that. Has been
kind of the thing with Brock Purdy. He's kind of the anti Dak Prescott,
who drew out his years has hadsome really bad luck in the playoffs
especially, But I mean, Ilook, I definitely view as an overall
(01:08:31):
quarterback just as a weapon, likea guy who is leader of the locker
room has a good enough arm,is a threat in the running game.
I think Jayalen is in the tierof his own for the contenders, for
sure, but I think that anygiven game Daker Purdy can have because of
the context that they're in, DakerPurdy could probably play up to the level
(01:08:53):
that Jalen has performed at at thehigher levels. I'm just I'm not going
to believe it until I see itin the playoffs. Yeah, nah,
I'm right there with you, andI guess i'd be remiss. We'll move
over to basketball in one second. But I know Shaanbernard's gonna love this.
You're not a Trevor Lawrence guy,so I'll let you. I'll let you
have your your moment here. It'sa gloat on me, t flaw as
(01:09:15):
you call him. That was ajoke before I think that he's a perfectly
good quarterback. I think he's atop ten twelve quarterback in the NFL.
I think he's just been prematurely crownedas like definitely one of the five to
seven best quarterbacks, and that Ithink he needs to prove more for a
larger sample than some of these otherguys who have done it for longer,
(01:09:39):
even if it's not resulted in likewinning at the higher levels. Having said
that, I kind of DMed you. I was like, oh, Herbert
played great this past week when Isaid I'd rather have Herbert than Lawrence,
and Lawrence didn't play so great.I rewatched some of that game later because
I didn't I didn't have a chanceto catch it live. I was driving.
But Trevor Lawrence was actually not badin that game. He was actually
(01:10:00):
pretty good. It was there wasa ton of drops from their wide receivers.
He's actually he's led the NFL inthe jacksonvill Jaguars lead the NFL and
wide receiver drops to start the year. So I'm not gonna gloat on that.
Like I gotta give Trevor Lawrence moretimes and more time to kind of
get adjusted with these these new uh, you know newer wide receivers. Obviously,
(01:10:23):
Calvin Ridley's playing his first year thereand he uh he he started the
year great and hasn't been as greatas he was in that first game.
But uh, part of it isat least due to context for him,
and especially we know press tail orcalling your offense. It's gonna lead to
some headaches, let's let's uh saythe least. But yeah, so I
(01:10:45):
was trolling you with that, buthe's actually been totally fine. Yeah,
And for the record, I'm farmore negative on Justin Herbert than I am
Trevor Lawrence. I know, Iknow you, but you're not Lawrence guy
either. But yeah, I buyinto more Like Trevor Lawrence, almost ten
percent of his passes are being dropped, like literally going through the fingers of
his receivers. Some of that Ikind of overlook more so than the Herbert
(01:11:06):
stuff, which I feel like ismore in his control. Yeah, but
Herbert, I will say Herbert wasincredible lest week. I think he did
play the best game of his life, fishing high volume game in NFL history.
This last week he was like fortysix or whatever it was. I
think he completed eighty five percent ofhis passes. He's just I'm I'm bigger
(01:11:27):
on Trevor Law. I'm sorry,I'm bigger on Justin Herbert than I think
the majority of people that push backon him. But I will say he
can. He wasn't my bad.He was at Kirk Cousin's diarrhea attack away
from Ozan three there, That's whatI was about to say. And for
three consecutive weeks, including the gamethat they won which Kirk through the interception
and we all saw what happened there, for three consecutive weeks, the ball
(01:11:49):
has been putting justin Herbert's hand withthe chance to win a game, and
he has failed to do so.Yeah, that's the Justin Herbert that I
know. The one thing I willsay is I wish they would have just
let him sneak it last week insteadof handing into the full back. But
the code my whole thing, Andpeople came after me on Instagram and Twitter
when that clip went out me talkingabout Herbert. My whole thing is mainly
just that I acknowledge that there's alot to be negative about in his surroundings.
(01:12:13):
Now Mike Williams has heard I thinkhis coaching staffs horrible. There's a
lot of things that you can pointout, but it just feels like at
a certain point, if he's like, as you know, on the Josh
Allen Joe Burrow level, then hemakes those places. I don't think people
are putting Trevor on that same levelthat people put Herbert on. But that's
that's really all it comes down tofor me. But let's switch gears.
Let's get over to basketball. Let'stalk about the Dame trade first before kind
(01:12:38):
of the the dominoes that fell becauseof the Dame trade. And obviously we're
talking to Trilboro Dude. You canfollow trill at Trolbor Dude, and you
can check out the un Ball Patreon. It's great, great stuff. I've
been on there a little bit, like we said recently, talking about the
NFL, but yeah, it's theywere doing the stream after the Dame trade.
They were doing a stream yesterday onPatreon talking about the Drew holiday trade
(01:13:00):
ideas. But let's start with Dame. What are your kind of just overall
takeaways. Obviously, I think weall think Milwaukee made away like bandits.
I think we can blame your cohost Sam for making fun of the GM
when you guys did the GM tears, But what were your reactions. He
wanted to put a G tier forGMS, and I was like, he
didn't win a championship. Got alittle bit. I was like, I
(01:13:24):
think he's a B tier GM ata minimum, and Sam convinced me to
put him in that D tier,And you know, look, a months
later he came out with turn DrewHoliday and one guaranteed first round pick in
Grayson Allen into Damian Lillards. Sopretty impressive. Certainly well, as a
avid Miami Heat hater, I am, you know, rejoicing over the fact
(01:13:46):
that he did not end up there. But it is a bit of a
monkey's call situation where oh man,I wish that Dame just never went to
the Heat, and then he endsup going with one of the twenty five
best players of all time. Yeah, in your conference. So obviously not
great. I mean I think thatwe were talking about it last night on
the Patreon and we were saying, probably the most Look, I don't know
(01:14:11):
if they're the most talented duo ofthe last five to ten years. Obviously
you've had a ton of you know, if Steph Curry and Kevin Durant at
their peak, two of the threebest players in the NBA. You also
had Anthony Davis and Lebron James, who were top five bish players in the
NBA during that one season with theLakers. I'm not willing to go that
far, but I don't think thatthere's been a duo that's quite as synergistic.
(01:14:36):
Yes, Damon Jannis, like thefit is just so hand in gloves
and what Milwaukee has lapped for allthese years as a true offensive engine.
Even when they won the championship, they had a below average half court offensive
rating and the only reason that theywere able to kind of win that title
other than the fact that they hada very elite defense built around you know
(01:14:58):
there there here in Core, whichand also Withdrew and PJ. Tucker,
but they their offense was really draggedto the finish line by Chris Middleton hitting
a ton of tough shots during thatplayoff run, like a historic amount of
games, basically in the fourth quarter, and it was always looking like they
were getting it out of the mud, to quote Paul Reid in in those
(01:15:24):
playoff runs. And you know,Miami was able to take advantage of that
two times when they played them, they were able to muddy up the games
and you know, win those series, and it was obviously a week point.
I think that this team Withdrew hadhit its ceiling, and to replace
him with a guy like Dame, who's just such automatically gives you a top
five offense if he's on your team. And then add in the fact that
(01:15:45):
they have one of the best spacingbigs and Brook Lopez who's also an interior
force on defense. Adding adding inthe fact that now Chris Middleton is more
of a spot up secondary creator, and adding in the fact that Jannis is
one of the greatest you know, rolling rim threats we've we've ever seen on
the offensive end and one of themost veratle defenders we've ever seen. I
(01:16:06):
expect them to be really, reallygood and more dangerous in the playoffs than
they have been over the last fouryears, because I think of people always
say that the Mickey Mouse title wasthe Bubble run. I think it was
more the next year when everyone washurt and guys were in and out with
COVID and the Sun's I'll just saythis, the Bucks were lucky with the
(01:16:28):
nets injuries that year. And thematchups that they got in that run,
and now I think that they've giventhemselves a bit of proof, a little
bit of cushion over the fact that, you know, they might have some
bad matchups that they'll just be ableto overcome on pure talent. Yeah,
shout out to the twenty twenty onesix ers for allowing them to have a
nice, nicer path than the EasternConference finals. Good job, guys,
(01:16:50):
But uh putting putting that aside realquick. By the way, I really
just want to throw this one inas another jab at Sam Uh. I
mean the twenty twenty Lakers. Yousaid you mentioned a D and Lebron being
top five players at the same time. I've been told that was a bad
basketball team. Yeah. No,definitely. The team that was on sixty
(01:17:10):
games before the shutdown had a topthree offense and defense, her top five
offense and defense, and also untilthe bubble resumed, was basically by far
the best team in the NBA inthe regular season other than the Milwaukee Bucks
who choked in the bubble and thenthey pretty much easily cruise to a title
and only lost like four games ofthe whole run. Yeah, that team
was not any good at all.Yeah, that's I like that take by
(01:17:33):
Sam. It's one of my favorite. It's one of my favorite takes.
But really I love it. Ilove it on that trade, the Phoenix
aspect of it. What are theydoing? You tell me? Look,
you know we talked about this.I don't know if I talked to this
about you before, to you aboutthis before it actually went down. We
(01:17:54):
talked about it on the podcast wherewe were like, we've heard from like
seven Now, look, we're notlike woe or anything, but we hear
from people and we hear rumors, and we heard from legitimately like five to
seven people that the Eighten for Nurkicswap was a lock, and were like,
why what is happening? Like isthere another elment are they getting?
(01:18:14):
Like he is Dame going to theheat and they're getting Kalam Martin Like why
would they do this? Like Idon't understand. And then when the trade
went down, I mean, thereturn was even worse than I could ever
imagine. You take Nurkic, wholook eighton isn't a perfect player, and
and look, maybe you can makethe argument that if Nurkics is healthy,
it's similar to kind of what thePelicans did a few years ago when they
(01:18:39):
traded Jonas when they made I'm sorrythe Grizzlies did when they traded Jonas Valanciunas
for Steven Adams. And you know, look, it might have been an
offensive downgrade, but you know, you're you're bringing a guy who's going to
be more engaged on the boards andyou know, set screens and do the
center role players things. But Nurkishasn't been that player since like twenty eighteen,
(01:18:59):
so like, I don't really knowwhat and even then, like he
was only what in his fifth yearin the NBA, fourth year in the
NBA when he was that guy,Like he has a very small sample of
being a legit starting caliber center inthe NBA due to these injuries and Asian
concerns, and he's only twenty nine, So like, I don't understand what
(01:19:19):
they're really doing other than the factthe only thing I can think is that
Eaton's agency was just like, pleaseget rid of us, and all the
offers were even worse than this. But I mean, they took on money
in the deal. It wasn't amoney saving deal. They're apparently leaving Keyan
Johnson so you better hope No's Littleis good because school Grayson Allen's a fine
(01:19:40):
player, but he's not He's notmuch better than like Landry Shammitt, who
you just basically salary dumped in theBradley deal deal. So I don't really
see this as an upgrade. Ithink it's a major downgrade for Phoenix and
personally unless No's Little is way betterthan he's been so far in his NBA
career, Yeah, it must beDeAndre and just sucks that much as a
(01:20:00):
person that they just wanted him outof there is really what I see is
they're using this addition by subtraction becauseI do think the financial aspect which he
touched on there is a big part. They added money to their cabinet this
tale. This was not a moneysaving move. I do kind of like
it from the Trailblazers perspective of havinga bilow on DeAndre Ayton. I know
he's frustrating, but I'm a littlebit of a naton truth that I think
the talent's there if he cares alittle bit. Did you see the video
(01:20:24):
talked about? Yeah? You do, like Eten see the video him walking
through the arena I've never seen himsmile so much. They did go watch
his twist stream here. He likeshe likes video game and I don't know
if he likes basketball. I mean, he's a guy who's averaged seventeen and
ten while not caring about the teamor basketball. He's twenty five years old,
former number one pick. Why notwe brought Traill on some Me and
(01:20:45):
Sean could yell at each other aboutI was gonna say, Markie, I
was expecting you to say that hehas been Simmons brains, because that's gotten
from in this that like she's abit mood. He does. He's not
as invested in basketball as you probablywant someone to be. That you're playing
paying a max contract and the talentsthere. We know the talent was there
(01:21:08):
with both of these guys, bothnumber one overall picks. Uh, you
know, to a lesser extent.I think Karl Anthony Towns has had a
better career than those guys. ButKarl Anthony Towns kind of in the same
bucket. But the thing was Eightento me, is like, look,
he's certainly talented. He certainly gotthe you know, the athleticism, the
size, everything you could ask forBut I'm like, like, I'm not
(01:21:31):
a big like culture guy. Likethe heat culture stuff drives me insane.
But there's gotta be a little bitof truth to that, right, Like,
there's gonna be a little bit oftruth, just like you gotta like
the people that you work with,ye, And if Aten is gonna be
kind of like a dude that you'rebuilding around, I just don't really trust
the fact that, like he wason a championship contender for three years and
(01:21:54):
he was pouting and fighting with thecoach during a Game seven and sat out
of Game six this past year.Like, I just kind of don't really
want those guys on my team.So it's nothing against the talent, it's
just more against like, if I'mtrying to do a rebuild, I don't
know if I want that dude inthe building if he's you know, not
going to be a good influence overthe younger guys that are on the team.
(01:22:15):
Yeah, all very fair, AndI guess from the six Ers perspective,
the biggest part of this trade isDrew Holiday that we know for the
Trailblazers, they're kind of taking thisgamble of kick the can down the line,
let's see what we can get withholiday, and that's going to be
our ultimate return. I struggle tofind a way to get Drew Holiday two
d six Yer isn't a deal.I understand the fit. I understand it
would be great, but I justcan't see it happening. How are you
(01:22:38):
feeling on that And do you think, like I guess, would you be
into holiday if it's on the table, And do you think there's any chance
of that? Choll Well, Ithink that I think that this is kind
of a situation where I'm not likethe biggest Drew Holiday fan in the world.
I think that people will overlook alot of Drew's flaws on offense because
he is such a good defender, and you know, he's certainly not like
(01:23:01):
what the Sixers would need because similarwe were talking about the Bucks half court
offensive problems. That's also been theSixers largest problem outside of the games,
when James Harden shoots like he's StephCurry in the playoffs. So I think
that that is once against the higherlevels, Drew isn't going to solve the
half court offensive problems they've had.Having said that, you have a situation
(01:23:24):
right now with James Harden, whoI just talked about guys who don't want
to be somewhere and why it mightbe a good move to get rid of
someone who doesn't want to be there, especially when they're you know, at
the club a few nights ago witha sign that says dere Morris a war.
Well, he also had a signthat said we're not gonna pull on
never mind, I won't finish soagainst say other radio. But yeah,
(01:23:46):
but he uh, but the factthat that is happening is is to me
is kind of this is your getout of jail free card. Like you
have a guy who is a youknow, obviously he's a malcontent in the
locker room right now, and JamesHarden, he doesn't want to be there.
And you know, whether that's rightor wrong because he didn't get the
(01:24:09):
contract, that's just the reality ofthe situation. And now you have a
situation where a player who is atworst a fringe borderline all star type guy
and Drew Holiday and all defense levelguard who is by all means a good
locker room guy that everyone loves, and by the way, has a player
option a year from now on hiscontract that still would allow you to come
(01:24:30):
up with whatever this plan is abouttap space next summer, you might be
able to bring Drew back at alower cap hit, or you could just
let him walk and you kind ofget the best of both worlds, where
you're still you're still giving yourself ashot if you get a guy Leadrew Holiday,
You're banking on Maxie taking another stepas an offensive creator, and you're
hoping that Drew being there in thebackward with him is enough to kind of
(01:24:53):
at least get you to the conferencefinals and to a level that we've never
been to in the playoffs, andkeeping Joe ellenbeat happy and making the locker
room better altogether for a first yearhead coach. And look, do I
want to give up one of thelast picks that we could possibly get in
addition to James Harden. No,on its face, that's not great value.
(01:25:13):
But the reality of the situation isyou've already punted on the value because
you weren't able to get anything forJames Harden before. So I think that
there is a clear opportunity to tradeJames Harden's the Clippers get a first round
pick from that trade, flip itto the Blazers with whether it's players on
the Sixers or an extra swap ora first round pick to the Blazers and
(01:25:35):
get Drew Holiday back to Philadelphia.I just think that that is, like
I said, it's to get outof jail free card. And you can
do the whole thing where you waitfor the best deal like you did with
Ben Simmons, and then you do, you make the deal too late and
it doesn't matter anyway because you waituntil three pm at the trade deadline like
you do every year. And yeah, and I keep looking at this as
the other team's kind of involved inthis, because there's gonna be a healthy
(01:25:57):
Drew Holiday market if he ends upon the Clippers, the Heat or the
Celtics. All of those suck forthese six years and he made your way.
Yeah, I mean, well,at least, guys, at least
we know that James Harden has shownthroughout his career just a complete utter.
You know, he's very he hasa lot of integrity, he plays a
lot of professionalism. So I mean, I have no doubt that he's gonna
(01:26:18):
come back and handle this like aprofessional. Supermature. Yeah, yes,
all right, that's gonna wrap itup. Chilbrod dude, one of our
absolute favorite guests. We're gonna behaving one throughout the football season, not
just the basketball season. And youcan check out his stuff for now at
trilbrod Dude. And he's got atBell and the Bird on Twitter, which
is going to become you know, birds pods soon. Go subscribe to that
(01:26:39):
pod, subscribe to the Patreon trill. Thanks so much for coming on,
man, thanks for having me.Of course we're gonna take a quick break.
We're gonna come back. Jam insome the NFL picks, jam in
lovely FLEXI, jam in a littledonkey brains back after this. If you
can wager on it, we're talkingabout it. It's the gambler. It
(01:27:01):
makes it easy. You won't beread it. Girl, they don't get
it? Then, sweet sweet something. Don't you a great squeez cupping bottles,
(01:27:44):
putting supermodels, cat proof man, second swag a bag man. Welcome
back to the tough On Radio Show. Talking with a big play there semi
five yard touchdown. What was Italking about earlier, Sean Bernard? Is
I talk about exclusive play rights ofKentucky? Was I talking about how Florida
gave up the most explosive plays inthe country. So I talking about how
(01:28:05):
Kentucky had the most explosive plays.I think I think I did. Yeah,
you know, seventeen nothing, Kentuckyfirst quarter loving it. Let's let
Ray Davis looking like a star today. Uh, he's just apparently they call
him sweet baby Ray. I likethat. I'm all in on. I
like that a lot. All inKentucky seems to always have a good running
(01:28:25):
back. They had Benny Snell,Chris Rodriguez, they had another one that
I'm forgetting. But those two,Oh I that's my fault. I said,
seventeen nothing. They better attacked. They just blocked off, all right,
At least it's sixteen nothing, sixteennothing. It couldn't be seventeen two
or sixteen two. That would thatwould have been sixteen nothing. No good
job by the kicker. That's ahighlight, real moment for that kicker right
there. You might like he mightcare about that more than any kicks.
(01:28:48):
He may tracking down a guy onhis black kick of breath. He has
not run that for that long anda long you think he'd be a soccer
player. You think that the kickerwouldn't have Like, I guess, I
don't know that was probably like asixty yard sprint to be fair. All
right, let's go over to theNFL. Last week, we I did
the show remotely, and my dadhas been bugging me for a while to
(01:29:11):
get on the show do some picks, so I let him. I learned
everything I know about this stuff fromhim. Anyway, I told the story
last week. I'll tell the cliffnotes. The reason I, you know,
ever found out what the plus andthe minus is on the on the
spreads were because we used to getthe Sunday paper out of the Philly Inquiry.
I used to circle the helmets onthe games. I used to think
we're gonna win, and I'd askhim like, what does it mean?
(01:29:31):
Like Dolphins minus three? Like whatdo you what does that mean? He'd
be like, oh, that's Idon't think he explained it to me fully
as a gambling thing. But heexplained it like they're expected to win by
three points. And then you know, he created a monster fault. It
is all his fault. It's allhis fault. So he gave me six
plays last week. He went fourand two. I gave my six plays.
(01:29:54):
I went five and one. We'redoing a head to head thing.
Uh, we have to come upwith a fun name for it. But
the AARP picks, the Senior citizenpicks. I don't know what we'll wrong,
what we'll make them, but it'sa struck from my own dad.
I'm allowed to be I'm allowed tojoke out him. But he's got Eagles
minus eight and a half. He'sgot Jags minus three, Ravens plus three,
(01:30:15):
Patriots plus seven, Dolphins plus twoand a half, and the Bengals
minus two and a half. Somy six picks that I gave where Jail
and Hurts touchdown, Eagles minus eightand a half, Jags minus three,
Ravens plus three, So we doshare three picks there. Then I go
Bills minus two and a half togo head to head with him there on
one of them. And then theother one that I'm missing here is oh
(01:30:39):
Seahawks Seahawks plus one and a halfon Monday Night football. Yes, shout
out to Jeremy. Jeremy, speakingof the Seahawks, are they on your
card this week? I have threebets and two of them are the Seahawks.
Now, the one that is nota Seahawks is the Chiefs, and
I'm thinking the Chiefs minus nine. They finally had a big blowout win against
the Bears last week, and Ithink that they're just going to continue that
(01:31:00):
trend and beat up on not asgood teams. So I see the Chiefs
covering at minus nine. Other twoare Seahawks. I got at minus two
today. The Giants are a badfootball team right now. Daniel Jones is
not a good quarterback. And alsoI have the Seahawks over twenty three and
a half. They have scored thirtyseven points in their last two games.
(01:31:20):
They didn't hit over twenty three anda half in their first game. But
again, they're playing the Giants whohave lit up so many points already this
season. And I got that atI got that at minus one twenty so
two Seahawks bets already. Sean Bernard, Yeah, perfect. Someone in the
same page with you as a lotof these the Ravens, as I mentioned,
I think Vegas got that wrong.Have they desire to be the outright
favorite. I'm taking the Ravens straightup there. Also, I'm with you
(01:31:43):
on the Jacksonville Jaguars. I likethe minus three line there. I think
they do take advantage of the Falconsand take that down. I'm also with
Jeremy on the Kansas City Chiefs atminus nine and a half. I think
this is the week the wheels falloff for the New York Jets, that
Zach Wilson fully implodes, as muchas he kind of was already showing signs
of it. I think this isthe week where it becomes very clear they
cannot have that guy under center. And to the same breath, the Chiefs
(01:32:04):
are coming off a week where wesaw them play their most complete game of
football so far. I think thiscontinues. I think this is a blowout
and on primetime. I think it'sa statement for the Jets. Next up,
I have the Vikings minus four anda half. I know they're ower
and three. I know they've beenbad, but I just feel like they
have to find a way to startwinning. So I am taking them against
the Panthers as four and a halfpoint favorites. There, I lean that
(01:32:25):
way. Yeah, I don't haveit on the car, but I lean
that way. And lastly, theCincinnati Bengals minus two and a half against
the Tennessee Titans that same don't haveit on the car, lean that way.
Yeah, I feel like another formof I guess the regression to the
mean from the Bengals of they're turningback into the contender we know them to
be. They're a team that startsslow and gets together by the end of
the year. Every year the Titanshave not looked good. I think this
is a prime opportunity for them toput forth a strong performance, and I
(01:32:48):
do think the Bengals cover that twoand a half. There. Let me
touch on some games that neither ofus are, none of the three of
us touched on. We have theUltimate toilet Bowl, the Denver Broncos at
the Chicago Bear. Do you haveany leans here? Because I lean Denver
minus three and a half. Ithink Chicago might be a different level of
bad even then the team that gaveup seventy and then I also lean over
(01:33:10):
here at forty six and a half. These defenses are both really bad.
Yeah, it's hard to just it'shard to make a bet on this game,
though, but I lean Denver inthe over. Yeah, I'm staying
completely away from it. I wantto take the Bears. I will want
to believe the Broncos are that bad. I really don't have a feel.
These are not teams that I thinkanyone's gonna be watching under a careful eye
for the remainder of the season.I feel like the Bears have to find
something positive to takeaway and I feellike this is an opportunity to get a
(01:33:33):
win here. But yeah, there'sgonna be some ugly football. I don't
see a lot of getting very muchred zone time Rams Colts. Anthony Richardson
back in for this game. Ido Richardson. Anytime touchdown, you on
it, you want to add tothe car, I'll add that to my
card. Yeah right, I likethat. That might be the new Jalen
Hurts there. Yeah, it mightbe. I know Sean Brace is big
on that, and he said yougotta bet it. My take on it,
(01:33:56):
I'm a little worried with him comingback from injury that they'll be They'll
tell them to take it easy, but it might be an auto bet.
Might be something you just have tobet every week no matter what. By
the way, Colts, I'd likethem to win the game. If I
were to make a play, Ilean Colts. There. It's minus one
towards the Colts. Colts win thisgame. They're three and one. Like
talking about a real team, ifyou if you get to three and one
(01:34:16):
there, so I do lean theColts. I also lean the over there
at forty five Steelers Texans. Thisis a game I would not touch with
a ten foot poll. CJ.Stroud is legit. CJ. Stroud looks
like the real deal. Looks likea top fifteen quarterback right now. Yeah,
like right away, So hard forme to go against him. I
do think the Steelers win. Wouldit shock me if it thinks by exactly
(01:34:38):
three points? Like? I thinkthis game probably is like twenty four to
twenty one Steelers, So I can'tbet this one either way. I'd pick
the Steelers if you make me,if you forced me to pick a winner
there, but I'm not going tobet the spread. Another game we didn't
touch on Raiders Chargers Chargers four anda half point favorite. Looks like Brian
Hoyer will be the quarterback there forthe Raiders. Tough, tough to evaluate.
(01:35:00):
Been a while since we've heard BrianHoyer. Yeah, they have a
rookie too, and Aidan O'Connell lookedreally good in the preseason. I don't
know why they wouldn't want to planby any take there. On rams cold
Steelers Texans Raiders, Chargers. Anyleans there on any of those three Colts
minus one is probably what I feelstrongest about that. I do think the
Cults are quietly a competent football team. I don't think the Rams are that
good. And I think the ColtsAnthony Richardson has straight up just been much
(01:35:23):
better than I expected, and soI will lean the Colts as my strongest
lean there. None of this ison my card, though, What are
you making a face at? Mean, Jeremy? Where you got Jansen behind
me? Well, let's let himin. We're on radio, Jansen.
What are you making faces? Kenttalkie Janson? You got any NFL PEX
for us? Uh? Baltimore loveit? Maybe? Yeah? I like
(01:35:45):
Baltimore a lot. I don't likethis week's card that much, do you.
It's a lot of plays where I'mjust not feeling great. So I
have Baltimore Buffalo. Those are mytwo. I'm also on Buffalo. We're
also on Baltimore, so we're onthe same plays there. To hear it
all right, hopefully my good luckrubs off on you instead of the other
(01:36:05):
way around. Well, we'll bepositive. We're positive. Mark stops legacy.
Bet it's a legacy bet for MarkSteops. All right, Jeremy,
it's time. I mean, theladies are listening. They're waiting for my
sultry love Me Flexi, love MeFlexy so saucy, Jeremy, Oh yeah,
(01:36:35):
it's me Mark, Henry Julie backagain to give you another love Me
Flexi start of the week. Yeah, we're looking the same place we looked
last week. The same guy didn'tdeliver for us, but he gave us
(01:36:55):
eight point six points. And KendrickGrowing, dude's a tar get machine.
Eleven targets, nine targets, fivetargets. Mac Jones loves him some.
Kendrick Bourne's Kendrick Bourne love Me Flexistart of the week. You have to
go, you have to go offthe board. It's outside the top forty.
It's hard to find someone. Imean this week especially, there's been
(01:37:15):
a lot, a lot of injuries. I feel like fantasy has been ravaged
with injuries here. It's been arough, rough start for the fantasy heads
out there, like myself. Solet's let's start. You got donkey brains
over there, Jeremy, let's dothe donkey Brains of the week. Do
either of you have anyone that comesto mind, anyone you want to anyone
you want to nominate. I've gottwo people. Yeah, I think you're
(01:37:36):
taking the strongest one. That itis the front of Philadelphia's mind right now.
So if you want to throw thatout to the start, I say
lead with that. I can leavewith that. If you guys want to
cook up any on your own,I will start with Chris Simms. Chris
Simms is my number one donkey brainsof the week. How do we know
you're not a donkey brain man?How do we know, Chris Simms?
(01:37:57):
We don't because when you were intraining camp with John Gruden, he told
you you had a trouble processing informationand you've went on to become this QB
guru. I put that in quotes. You ranked Jalen Hurts by Kellen Mond
a couple of years ago. Youhad a vendetta against Jalen Hurts for a
long time. That's all fine whenyou have one of the biggest platforms in
football media next to Mike Florio,Pro Football Talk on NBC. The fact
(01:38:21):
that they're putting a guy in therewho says kill the guy, kill the
QBA, head hunt, do allthat stuff when he was a terrible football
player, has never been a goodanalyst, and now he's also going above
and beyond what's acceptable to say aboutother human beings on live television. NBC
should be disgusted. Pro Football Talkshould be disgusted and honestly, Mike Florio
(01:38:43):
bye bye. Yeah. I blockedhim. I muted him. That dude's
an absolute fraud. I used toread him a ton I liked. I've
liked Pro Football Talk for fifteen years. I've liked Mike. Mike Florio for
a long time. PFD commenter wasborn from you know, Mike Florio's website.
There was a it was a thefootball ball. At a certain point,
he's become a little holier than nowto me lately, and he's he
(01:39:04):
cancels people all the time. Hewants to do all these things. Well,
guess what, buddy, the guyyou literally do a show with just
requested that one of the superstars ofthe NFL get headhunted and quote unquote killed
on the field. And you wantyou want to be you want to be
holier than now. You want tobe mister sanctimonious Mike Florio. And you
know I'm liberal too, so alot of the things he thinks about,
(01:39:26):
and a lot of things he sticksup for and writes for and sticks up
for the cause for I'm with him, but you can't be mister holier than
now and then sit by and excusewhat your co host did on the show
that you had him with. It'sdisgusting. The only thing I'll stick up
for Florio in this situation is Idid think he did a good job of
attempting to kind of clean it up, and Chris Simms wanted no part of
(01:39:46):
the lifeline that was handed to himwhen he when he started to interject and
be like he doesn't mean that,Like you don't mean that. Literally,
Sims just basically doubled down on thetake there. So I will give Florio
a little more leashed than you're givinghim on the entire situation. I'm being
harsh because I love I did likehim, So that's part of what the
thing is for me. And theroot of the issue is absolutely unacceptable that
you're spot on about that with ChrisSims. And it has been a vendetta
(01:40:08):
against Jalen Hurrits. This has beena constant thing for years now going on
against him. So I think thisis a spot on donkey brains. Yeah,
And then just one other one I'llthrow out there that is nowhere near
serious. The San Francisco Giants organizationfor firing Gabe Kapler. Everyone wants to
throw out like, oh, hewas seventy eight eighty one this year and
he went eighty one and eighty onelast year. Name players that he's coached.
If you're a casual baseball fan andyou can name more than three players
(01:40:30):
that have been on the San FranciscoGiants over the last two years, you
know, I got nothing to sayto you, because you can't. Those
teams have been bad. And thefact that he won one hundred and seven
games two years ago with one ofthe worst rosters in baseball that year who
was projected to I think their wintotal was seventy three and a half that
year and he won one hundred andseven, which is a franchise record.
The fact that he got fired asa joke, and the fact that they're
(01:40:51):
going to replace him with Bob Melvin, the Padres manager who just managed one
of the most talented rosters of alltime that had the ale Cy Young three
twenty five home run hitters, atop five, top five bullpen Josh Hayter,
who had the best season of closersthis year and like one of the
I think like the second best fieldingpercentage and they aren't going to go to
(01:41:11):
five hundred. They missed the playoffs. You want that manager and not the
guy who showed time and time againthat he'll do better than his roster every
single year. The Gabe Kapler hateand everyone's saying, oh, I mean,
clearly he's a smart guy, buthe just wears people out. What
if his teams are just bad,Like he doesn't wear people out, his
teams are just not good. Soit catches up to you eventually, you
(01:41:32):
can't perform magic. So everyone wantsto say that's the takeaway. The takeaway
is you don't watch a manager wina hundred and seven games with bad roster
and say, oh, well, let's give him worse rosters because you did
it with that, so why he'lldo it with less? The giant stuff
ridiculous to fire Gabe Kapler. He'llfind a job. He'll fight a job.
Other other teams notice what's going onwith Gabe Kapler and how how good
(01:41:53):
of a manager he truly is.The casual fans eyes find whatever think have
you want. But Gabe Kapler isincredible manager. Yeah no, you can't
say in any better than that.So San Francisco Giants organization, how do
we know you're not a donkey brain? Man goes to th So you guys
got anyone? Yeah I do.I'm handing my donkey brains with the week
(01:42:14):
to pat Riley. And the reasonfor this is obviously Damian Lillard will be
playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. Wejust spent spent months going over why he
is destined to be a member ofthe Miami Heat, each of us basically
mentioning that this just feels like amissed opportunity by pat Riley and the Heat
front office. And this extends beyondDame Lillard, Perk, Kevin O'Connor here
