Listen right here goes down to thebaby mama's mamas, mama's moms, baby
mamas moms. Yeah, I likethat, Jackson, to make your doctor,
(00:27):
Jackson, Welcome back to the ToughtRadio Show. We are bringing on
one of our absolute favorite guests onthe program. And I mean, it's
peak basketball season right now. Everyoneknows that the in season tournament runs the
sports calendar. Everyone marks off everyTuesday and Friday of November as the in
(00:53):
season tournament turny Days. It's likeMarch Madness. It's exactly what Adams.
It is, exactly like it,and we're bringing on trill bro Dude to
talk about it. But more importantly, we're bringing them on because folks,
gentlemen, ladies, fellas, whoever'sout there listening, aliens, whoever's listening,
The Sixers are back. The Sixersare so back that it's disgusting.
(01:18):
And it's actually clinically depressing how muchthe Sixers are back. For my mental
psyche, I thought I might havemoved past this era of being able to
say that the Sixers were back. But the Sixers are more back than they've
ever been back, and trill broDude is back on the show, Trill,
thanks so much for coming on.Man, how are you doing?
Thank you for having me. Icannot believe that we are sitting here having
(01:41):
this conversation after you came on mypodcast, I came on your radio show.
We were talking is it over?Process two point zero? And it
is a it's over. We're backlike we've never seen before in the span
of what two months. So uhyeah, I'm absolutely thrilled that the Sixers
have started the way that they've started, and Nick Nurse has done miracles on
(02:05):
me. Nick Nurse, I willsay, I don't want to spend too
much time on it, Trill, because I want to praise Mike Kyoto and
you for being the leaders of theinn season tournament movement that is going on
in the Sixers fan base. Butthis is good for my anti Glenn Rivers,
my anti Glenn Rivers takes that havebeen flowing through my veins for the
(02:29):
last decade of my life. Ithink that guy was more concerned about scheduling
tea times than practice, and Ithink I think Nick Nurse is I should
have known that Nick Nurse would havejust been like a fifteen win improvement or
a ten win improvement that guy wonlike the equivalent of sixty games of Pascal
Siakam the year after Kawhi left ashis best player. I just think Nick
(02:51):
Nurse is a special, special coachand we're seeing it right now. I
mean, what are some of thedifferences you're in the way that this team
is coached and just the way thisteam is like schematically compared to the last
couple of seasons. Well, thebig difference to me is the fact that
(03:12):
Nurse has always kind of push. He's preached this idea of putting pressure on
the ball on the defensive end andcrashing the boards on the offensive end.
So what you're seeing so far tostart the year from the Sixers is a
level of defensive activity and movement thatwe have never seen with this Sixers team
in the Joel Embiid era. He'susing Joel as this rim protector, roamer
(03:38):
type guy that you know he canbe. When you have long, athletic
defenders like Kelly Oubrey and Nicholas Patoombwho isn't quite as athletic as he used
to be, but an incredibly smart, good on ball defender. Guys like
Milton Covington and even Maxi causing somany turnovers, getting the team out running,
creating extra possessions, and just simplifyingeverything for everyone. That has been
(04:02):
the big difference for me is thatthe half court. To me, I
don't think I've seen a massive difference. Now. Look, the egalitarian offense
is definitely a thing. The ballspreads around more, it doesn't stick quite
as much as it used to,but the core of the offense is still
generally the same. Other than whereJoel Embiid is kind of positioned on the
(04:26):
court, they're using them more aslike an elbow distributor or someone who can
kind of see over the defense asopposed to a post up big or a
pick and roll big. But thecore of this team is the two man
game between Maxi and Beid in thehalf court, getting the team out running
and creating extra processions with turnovers andwith rebounding. And it is incredible to
(04:47):
see when was the last time theStixers were winning the loose ball battle,
the rebounding battle, all of thethings that you win the game on the
margins can make up for a lotof flaws in your team, whether it's
a lack of playmaking like we've seennot really having like a top tier offensive
playmaker hasn't really mattered that much becausethey are able to win the games on
(05:11):
the margin so much that I eventhink they're gonna be able to survive some
bad shooting nights. So, like, I think it's just really obvious that
they bought in from day one withhis defensive identity. And then in addition
to that, this this idea thatwe aren't going to be a stagnant plotting
team in the half court that onlycan score in the half court and not
rely, when we have some ofthe best transition players in the NBA,
(05:33):
including one Tyrese Maxey, who hasbeen an all NBA level player through the
first nine or ten games. Yeah, I mean, that's got to be
the next question. And we allknow what Joelle is and we all are
seeing, you know, how bigof an impact nic Nurse is making.
But the number one story with theSixers this year is the obvious leap of
(05:55):
Tyrese Maxi And you know, Iforget who it was. It might have
been Marty, I forget who itwas on Twitter that was trying to come
up with the nickname for Maxie, and it's I mean, he needs one
like he needs a definitive nickname.I don't know if it's the Savior,
but he needs something because this guyis saving you know, our lives as
Sixers fans because this leap he takesevery single year. It's more impressive every
(06:20):
year. And this is the mostimpressive leap because you can go from being
an average, you know, rookieto being a really good player in your
second year. A lot of peopledo that. You can kind of go
from being a fifteen to sixteen pointper guy to being a twenty point per
game guy. But to go frombeing good to like, you know,
as elite as Tyrese Maxi has been, you know, from not being an
(06:43):
All Star last year. This couldbe potentially one of the you know,
bigger leaps we've seen in a longtime, a Jalen Hurts level leap.
Hopefully if Maxie continues doing what he'sdoing. And how much how much do
you buy that this is just whatMaxie is now and because I at this
point fully do And how much doyou think that this changes the calculus of
(07:08):
kind of how the Sixers need tobuild the team. Well, two things.
The main thing is, yes, this is who he is because if
you remove the minutes that Harden playedlast year when it was just Maxie on
the port, he was almost puttingup identical numbers to what he's putting up
now. This is not something thatis completely unsustainable. It's something that he
(07:28):
did in a massive sample of minuteslast year, Like he was averaging basically
twenty five to five and five withoutHarden efficiently above league average. True shooting
percentage still was the level of creatorshooter everything. And then the difference to
me between last year and this yearis the fact that he got the opportunity.
(07:49):
And then the other thing is thefact that he has made leaps as
a passer in the pick and roll, in dribble handoffs in the open court.
And then in addition to that, the defensive end has been the biggest
improvement to me, Like, Idon't view Maxie as a weakness on that
anymore. I think that they thisnew system has leveraged his physical traits and
(08:11):
his general kind of field. Nurselikes guys who gamble, and that's really
not a thing you get from alot of pooches. But I think the
thing that Nurse really understands about guyslike Maxie and Melton and Ubra is that
while they might have some deficiencies ondefense, their strengths are going to be
able to lift this team up.And I think that with having Joellenbiid as
(08:33):
the guy that cleans everything up onthe back end, it allows them to
create these kind of opportunities that, just like I said before, leads the
easier offense. And the thing withMaxie is like I think he's the rare
exception to the fan delusion thing, where like a year ago, I remember
people were calling me crazy for sayingI wouldn't trade him for Trey Young,
(08:54):
and now I don't think that anyonewould trade him for Trey Young. And
like Trey puts up the stats,he's amazing player. Look, he was
the best player in Thestern Conference Finalsteam. You can't take that away from
him. When it comes to winningbasketball at the highest level, I would
rather have Tyres Maxie on my team. You're talking about one of the best
shooters on the ball and off theball in the NBA, an elite driver
(09:15):
who could just absorb contact and getto the line at will now, an
incredible finisher around the rim, someonewho can kind of be malleable on offense
and defense. I think he's actuallypretty good at switching now on defense as
well, like because he's so strongthat, like he can contain a Jalen
Brown type, he can contain evenlike a in a pinch if he gets
(09:37):
switched last second onto a Jason Tatum. I'm not as scared as I was
before. So, like, Ithink that his game has just become so
well rounded. And it's not anexaggeration when I say he's been one of
the twelve best basketball players in theNBA this season, Like I genuinely think
there has not been If all NBAwas held today, he would be on
second or third team, which iscrazy for a guy that is tw three
(10:00):
years old and has made, likeyou said, so many leaps come from
being like a theoretical good shooter toone of the best in the league.
Someone who has come from being youknow, oh, he's such a threat
off the ball to he can bea high level on ball creator as well.
And there's definitely still kind of thingsfor me for him to improve on
in terms of on the ball, but I know he'll do it. Like
(10:22):
that's that's kind of how I feelnow. I was people were calling me
crazy. When I was comparing himto his rookie year, I was comparing
his per thirty six to Jamal Murrayand Dearon Fox. In his second year,
I'm comparing him to even better players. And then a year ago I
had a famous tweet where I comparedhim to Steph Curry and Damian Lillard when
he was their age. But thestats are similar. I'm not saying he's
(10:43):
going to reach that level, obviously, not Steph Curry, but like,
I think that this guy could bea five to seven time All Star,
a guy who's regularly in the AllNBA conversation and just a winning overall player.
Yeah, I mean, he's definitelynot someone anyone would take a look
at trading for anyone like that anymore. And you know, even this all
(11:05):
season, there was conversations about DameLillard that I was definitely resistant on.
And I'm definitely glad, honestly thatat this point that we didn't even entertain
that really or if we did,I'm glad that it didn't be fulfilled because
he didn't want to come here. But I'm definitely glad no matter what has
happened. I mean a couple ofyears ago. People wanted to trade him
for Kyle, trade him and stufffor Kyle Lowry. So thankfully that was
(11:28):
not done. And because I don'tknow where we'd be as a franchise right
now if that was if that wasa decision that was made. But something
else that has been a pretty crazydevelopment, maybe the most shocking development of
the season so far. Kelly Ubre, a guy who you made a hilarious
video yesterday about you, included yourreaction from the You Know Ball pod that
(11:52):
you host with Sam and when youguys were live when Kelly Ubray was signed
and you were at a play, you were not happy. And ye you
made a very very funny video apologizingthat not knowing ball was about basketball,
was about a bucket. Because that'swhat Kelly Ubra is. So far this
year, he's been just an unbelievableaddition. We went from never having a
(12:16):
wing for you know, ten yearsnow we have too many of them arguably
right now. So Kelly Ubra, what are your thoughts? I mean,
it's is this repeatable sustainable at all? Is he just a bucket forever?
So the shooting will definitely regrets.I mean, it's already started to regress.
He started the year on fire, shooting in the high forties from three,
(12:39):
and that will almost certainly regress becausenow it's back down in the thirties.
But the thing that I've been mostimpressed with him by is that even
when the shot isn't falling, itstill feels like he has at least a
neutral or positive impact on the game. Like defensively, like I said,
he takes risks, but he's beenable to generate some turnovers. He's also
(13:00):
been able to Last night during mystream, I was saying from the jump,
I thought Kelly Ubra should have beenon Caid Cunningham. I felt like,
athletically what he can bring to theSixers with his length and his ability
to move in space. I waslike, this is the kind of guy
that Caid has struggled with this fora few years in the league, and
Milton is the kind of guy thathe will take advantage of. And that's
(13:22):
exactly what happened. And then whenNurse switched to Uber onto Caid, we
didn't hear from Caid for the restof the night. And that is the
kind of thing we talk about whenwe talk about the Sixers lack of athletics
laugh of lack of big body wingsand one of the reasons I felt like
I was vindicated about Kelly originally andwhy I didn't like the signing was because
(13:46):
in the past he's always been prettyI wouldn't say he's like a hyper inefficient
player, but he's just a playerthat takes a lot of bad shots,
and historically his shot diet has beenmore of like a six man type.
They figured out that his intensity thathe brings on the defensive end, coupled
with the fact that he's been oneof the best wing finishers in the NBA
(14:07):
for the last five to six years. He shoots in the high sixties low
seventies around the rim. That isjust kind of a market in efficiency that
I think that teams kind of overlooked, including me. In free agency.
Was like, here's a guy whohas a skill set that everyone is looking
for, but the context of hiscareer so far has been he's been asked
(14:28):
to be an on ball guy whenhe probably should have been this cutting,
catching and shooting, occasionally running offense, but overall being more of an attacker
who can hang on the defensive end. And he's turned himself into a really
really nice role player, Like Imean, he would be if you were
to rank the five best free agentsignings this summer, he would be in
(14:50):
the top five. And in termsof value contract, he has one of
the best team contracts in the NBA. He's a veterans minimum guy, and
even I did say, to befair, even I say it's ridiculous that
he got a veterans minimum. Ye, like, he should have at least
got a mini mL five to sixmillion a year. But I'm glad that
he's been able to come in here, find a role and prove himself.
In these first few games man like, he's been really really impressive. And
(15:13):
like I said, I expect theshooting to regress, but I expect everything
else to be completely sustainable. Andif that's the case, he's a bargain
on his contract and honestly a reallynice fourth or fith starter with this team.
And we've gotta take a look atthe slot market now because obviously with
the James Harden trade and with allthe assets that were acquired, and you
know, there's already the rumors andreports are about og Annoby and how much
(15:37):
we have to offer and all thisstuff going around what situations are you monitoring
that Darryl is going to have totake a look at in trying to acquire
either a third star or maybe acouple of players that could help the team
at the deadline. I'm kind ofto the point where I don't think that
they should acquire a third star unlessit is like you can have X player
(16:03):
for free because we don't want topay his contract. I know that sounds
insane, but like if you lookaround the NBA and the teams that are
trying to do like the star thing, I think that that model is not
aging quite as well as it usedto, just because of the balance of
talent around the league. Like tome, so far other than that team
(16:23):
from eighteen to nineteen, this mightend up being the best chance that the
Sixers have to win a title ascurrently constructed. I know we were a
little me and you were a littlebit higher on their chances last year,
but that team didn't have the depththat this team has, and I think
that if you look at what theteam needs, I'm stuck between either getting
(16:48):
a third kind of ball handler GordonHayward type who could be available at the
deadline, someone who can come inthat can dribble, shoot and pass,
can defend, can kind of bea malleable player on either end. Or
do they go the other route andsay, look, our defense is going
to be what carries us at theend of the day. Do we just
(17:10):
double down on that and try toget even more elite and upgrade the Anthony
Meltain spot from d Anthony Meltain tolike Alex Caruso or og Ananobi or someone
like that. Like I don't thinkOG's available. You know. My feeling
on the Raptors in general, theydon't make trades. Talking about them until
it's free agency next year is kindof a waste of time because Messiah thinks
(17:33):
he, you know, runs theNBA and he's not going to give up
until you know, he gets adeal that he likes and blah blah blah.
But the two guys that I think, just generally speaking, if you're
looking at what Maury's history has shownus, is that he looks for bargain
contracts and he looks for guys thatare valuable on both ends of the court.
And I think that or Caruso ismore of an elite defensive player that
(17:57):
is has some offensive utility, whereasHayward's more of an all around head of
jack of all trades type player. And then the last one that I would
throw out there because I know alot of people have been saying Levine.
I don't really know if I lovethe Levine fit anymore with the way that
Maxie's taken this leap and defensive issuesthat he could present. But the other
(18:18):
guy that I think that's more ofa long shot if he's he's an available,
but it's someone I would keep aneye on is Lori Markinen because I
feel like with markten, someone pitchedit to me as having Maxie and markan
in from a spacing perspective makes thosetwo spots so much easier whether you're playing
(18:38):
Batoom there, Roco to bias Ubreor someone else you acquire at the deadline,
it makes it so much easier becausethose are two of the ten best
shooters in the NBA, very similarto those Peak Warriors teams that had Stephan
Clay where you could play defensive firstguys at those positions and it wouldn't really
matter quite as much. So thoseare just some general targets that I would
(19:00):
keep an eye on, and thenof course they're lower to your guys,
but I think that I think they'regoing to make a medium swing at the
deadline and then their star move they'requote unquote star move or like high impact
move would be more likely in freeagency and trades next offseason. Yeah,
I definitely loved all the names youpitched. I especially love Gordon Hayward as
a name. I think Gordon Haywardwould be a perfect fit on this team.
(19:22):
I loved the Larry market and fit. I think he'd be a perfect
fit on this team. OG makesa lot of sense, But like you,
I'm skeptical of whether Massi is goingto be willing to trade him.
I like the cru So fit aswell, depending on the price and the
two names that I'll bring up.Pascal is the name that he's been pretty
bad this year, honestly if youlook at his stats Siakam, but I
(19:45):
still am pretty bullish on his fitwith Maxi and Embiid. I think he
would fit in well as the fourthere, so I do think he could
be a possibility if Massi decides tonot you know, be hard to deal
with and actually make a trade ifthey completely bottom out this year. Who
knows, But I think the namesyou mentioned are interesting. I want to
(20:06):
ask about just a disgusting name thatno one is gonna want. No one
wants to talk about this. Butyou mentioned you mentioned if there's a contract
out there that's just a bad contractand you can get them for free,
you could get off them. Youknow, we could trade expirings and not
even give up picks to get them. Is there any argument, any argument
(20:29):
that there's a bi low opportunity forKarl Anthony Towns that makes any level of
sense. I don't see it.I really don't think it's a move that
more you would make. I thinkthat that contract is going to be,
yeah, the worst contract in thehistory of the NBA in comers. Like
he's making almost sixty million dollars ayear for a player I wouldn't even consider
(20:52):
a top twenty five player anymore. And I honestly think it's going to age
even worse. I think that heis like every time we see Karl Anthony
Towns in a winning situation, hisrole is always reduced. And to me,
that just tells me, Like ifyou were to tell me, and
I know that, like, look, we just lived through the Tobias experience,
and like Tobias has turned himself intoa nice player and it has been
(21:14):
great, and honestly, I wouldargue has been better than both Karl Anthony
Towns and Pascali Oppam to start theseason. Having said that, do you
want to live through that experience againwhere you're marrying yourself to a very good
but also flawed player that isn't thegreatest fit with your best two players in
what is essentially would be the lastmove you can possibly make once he because
(21:37):
he would fill all of the capspace next year. You don't have cap
space if you acquire Karl Anthony Tupsbecause his contract doubles after this season.
So that's where I would say no. I would be absolutely floored if if
Morey did that. If you lookat his history, he does tend to
buy low on players. He didthat with Chris Paul with the Clippers.
(21:59):
But he he's always looking for guyswho fit with his best players, and
I just don't see Carla Detem's fittingwith Joellenbiid. To be completely honest with
you, I think that he wouldbe more likely if he's going after a
Bilo star Siaka would be more likely. I think Levine would be more likely,
and I think that Laurie Marketing wouldbe more likely. I would be
I would be floored if he ifhe traded for Carl nd twmbes the one
(22:22):
being a very good player. Yeah, I didn't think it was likely at
all. I just wanted to seeif there's any value to it at all.
And I tend to agree with youand that one lower level player mentioned
by my my psycho buddy who's abig fan of your pod, and he
wanted me to ask Bohan Bogdanovich, what would be your thoughts on adding him?
What would it cost him? Wouldyou have any interest in the fit?
(22:45):
Uh? Yeah, I mean Bojon'sa good player. If it's basically
what you just said, where you'retaking a flyer on him and it's you
know, you're getting him for salaryfiller in maybe some seconds, I would
be open to that idea. Ithink that one of the things that the
Sixers have struggled with when we getto those higher levels, Like historically,
(23:07):
if Joel Embiid plays thirty five toforty minutes a game in a playoff series,
it's actually never been our defense that'sthe problem. Ever, it's even
with Maxie and Harden on the frontline. Last year, our defense was
completely passable in the Celtics series. It's always always always been our offense.
And that's where you can talk yourselfinto a guy like Bugdanovic, where okay,
(23:32):
we can bring it a guy whocan dribble, pass and shoot,
who can do some of the thingsthat we saw at the end of the
Celtics game and we've seen throughout thecourse of this window. Is that when
the offense breaks down, he canget you a bucket and a pinch and
he might be a nice fit.The one thing I will say about him
is that I think that he's sneakyold because he actually got drafted when he
(23:52):
was a little bit older, andhe didn't even come over to the NBA
until he was in like his midtwenties. He's like thirty four to thirty
five now, and I would definitelybe a little bit concerned about his body
breaking down. And we already didthat once with George Hill, and I
I'm just saying, I'm thinking,if you're trading for a guy in his
thirties, I think you got tobe pretty sure that his body is going
(24:15):
to hold up for the rest ofthis season, which honestly, you could
even question with Gordon Hayward, youcould be is his body gonna hold up?
Like that's a guy who hasn't playedplayoff minutes in a while. So
there are a few options out there. If you're of the mindset that you're
better off keeping all of your draftpicks until the summer and getting a guy
just for seconds or for like likemaybe like lower level rotation players and expiring
(24:40):
contracts, then I am fine withtaking a move like that, But I
think that I think you're better offusing one of those draft picks at this
upcoming deadline at least to get aquality rotation player who makes a difference as
opposed to getting a guy that likeis more of a question mark because of
the age and the health thing. And also defensively, I don't know if
Bogdanovich can play in a playoff seriesanymore. Like he he was kind of
(25:03):
a sneaky, not bad defender, which we always say about white guys in
his like, yeah, exactly,he was a pretty good on ball defender.
But he is doesn't move like heused to, just like you know,
most of us in our thirties,So so yeah, that would be
That would be the one concern Ihad with that, But overall, I
(25:25):
don't I don't hate the idea. One final or I guess two final slop
ideas here and the one is oneI'm out on personally, but I guess
it's just another expiring contract I've heardmentioned if the Bulls, if we can't
get Levine or for whatever reason, but the Bulls still do sell and DeRozan
asks out, is there any interestin trading expirings for Derozen and kind of
just having him as a one yearguy and not really giving much up for
(25:48):
him. And also another situation, and this I'm strictly monitoring this because I
have Lonnie Walker in fantasy and he'san absolute bucket. The nets have too
many forwards, then the nets justthey have a million forwards. Cam Thomas,
McHale, Bridges, Lonnie Walker,Dory and Finney Smith, Cam Johnson,
even Royce O'Neill, not that Iwant Royce O'Neil. Is there any
chance we could get any of them? Like? Could you get a Cam
(26:11):
Thomas? Could you get a CamJohnson? Could you get Dorry and Finney
Smith? Do you want any ofthem, Like, I don't know what
you do with it, but theyhave too many of them and they've got
to trade them. It's unfair tothe rest of the NBA. So yeah,
they're basically doing what the Clippers havedone for the last years till now
right like where it's just like youcan't hug all of the quality role players.
The Grizzlies did this too, andnow they're both kind of screwed since
(26:33):
they did it to start with.De rose and I have no interest,
yea literally negative interests. I thinkhe's a fantastic, amazing, talented player.
I also think that his best daysare behind him, and I think
that it's going to be really hardto win with a guy who takes as
many mid range shots as he does, who commands the ball as much as
he does, takes it away fromMaxi and Embiids, and a guy who
(26:57):
historically, look, we loved ourplayoff droppers, whether it's been Harden,
Simmons, Embiid, whatever, DeRosen is one of the most historical playoff
droppers we've ever seen, and Ijust think I don't like the fit.
I think i'd rather go for aguy like I'd rather take a chance on
Levine because Levine is at least moreof a knockdown shooter, and he's at
(27:19):
least going to give you on thedefensive end. He's at least gonna try
on the ball. I just don'tthink the Rosen fits with this team at
all. But the other question thatyou had the wings on the So I
would rank the guys in terms ofthose guys that I would like to acquire.
Number one for me would be CamJohnson for sure, like if we
(27:40):
were able to, because I'm assumingMichail Bridges and Cam Thomas are off the
table for them, I would saynumber one is Cam Johnson, but I
don't think they're gonna trade him unlessit's like my idea is that they're holding
on to the majority of those guysto try to get Donovan Mitchell next summer.
I think that wants to be inNew York and the Knicks aren't gonna
own for pay for him, andthe Nets have a bunch of picks,
(28:03):
and they have mckill Bridges, andthey might say, hey, look,
you can come play with Michale. You'll be the guy, and Mitchell can
have his own team and they'll beable to put a good quality amount of
players around him. So you're talkingabout like, you know, Cam Johnson,
Cam Thomas, picks whatever for DonovanMitchell. I think that that makes
more sense. The guys I wouldimagine are available of this deadline or Dorian
(28:26):
Finney Smith and Royce O'Neill. RoyceO'Neill's contract is aspiring, I would be
pretty surprised if he isn't moved atthe deadline. And then the other guy
is Dorian Fitty Smith, who Ithink will have value to teams like the
Sixers, value to teams that arejust looking for a big wing that can
He's basically like prime DJ Tucker tome, like, don't expecting you a
lot offensively, but he can hitcorner threes, he can rebound decently,
(28:51):
and then he's also a very goodswitchable defender and a good off ball defender
as well. So Dorian Fitty Smithwould be a guy I think that the
Sixers would interested in. They'd probablynot give up more than like a protected
first for him, but someone likethat I would imagine is definitely available.
And this might be something that Sixersfans hate because for some reason, they
(29:11):
all love Kyle Kuzma and they hateSpencer Dinwitty because they beef or whatever.
But Spencer Dinwitty I think is likelow key if you're giving up expirings and
seconds to go get a ball handler. Yeah, I don't hate that as
a sixth man, he like peopleforget that. When he was in Dallas
(29:32):
for that season, he was reallycompetent defensively as a guy for them as
a fifth starter. He also wasa forty percent catch and shoot guy.
He was really good attacking closeouts. He's a good passer. I think Dinwitty
is someone that if you're just takinga flyer on a guy that is on
an expiring contract and you're just gettingbasically I said, expirings and seconds,
(29:55):
and they might want to open upon ball opportunities for some of their guys.
Brooklyn Dinwitty's the guy that I wouldbe I would be personally interested in
as like a six man here.I think that he would be a really
good fit. And I think thatthat is the kind of guy that I
would be looking at as like abi low option. I actually like that
a lot. I like that Dinwittyoption a lot. I also him being
thirty feels like fake news. Ithought he was like thirty six. That
(30:18):
that's insane in my head, andso yeah, no, that's that's just
crazy. I wouldn't have guessed thatin one hundred years. But and Dorian
Finney Smith, I actually think isan interesting option too. He's shooting the
heck out of the three ball rightnow. He's making like three and a
half per game. That's wild. But yeah, that would be Maybe you
get like Dinwitty and DFS and apackage or something. Maybe you give him
a furs that could be interesting. But uh, one, That's that's it
(30:42):
for Sixers questions. I do haveto ask you on your way out.
You are a Penn State guy.I've got to run by how you're feeling
about the game. I know you'renot as hopeful as I am about your
Penn State Nitney Lyons, is thereany you know now that we're on the
doorstep of game time, is anyexcitement for you for the game? I
(31:03):
don't get excited for Ohio State games. I don't get excited for Michigan games.
We have won one or two gamesagainst them. Maybe I think you
were to combine that it was two. It was two of the last four,
But then The thing about it isMichigan started knowing your place. So
then they've won the last two exactly. I was gonna say, when these
(31:26):
games have actually mattered, we've wonthem maybe one for each Ohio State Michigan,
because the times that we have beatMichigan were like we had already had
multiple losses, like it didn't reallymatter quite as much to me. Yeah,
I mean, I have no faithin this offense. I have no
faith in James Franklin to be ableto figure out how to score a single
touchdown against an opponent like Michigan, especially if they're stealing find which is not
(31:51):
great. But but yeah, Ilike I said, I get excited.
I get excited every year for PennState and they do the same thing where
they win again the Iowas of theworld, the Minnesota's, the Rutgers,
and then they disappoint me against OhioState and Michigan. So I don't have
any optimism. I don't see howthis offense is going to score at all
(32:13):
against Michigan's defense. And maybe theycan if that play got reversed in the
Ohio State game where they returned itfor a touchdown, I would feel a
little bit differently about this game, but I can't get too excited despite Penn
State having an elite defense. Ithink you're gonna be happy at three three
thirty when Penn Stay wins this game. Trill. That's my prediction. But
that is Trill Road dude. Youcan follow him on Twitter at Troil Road.

Thanks for having me. Of course, anytime on the other side,
we're gonna be talking NFL giving outsome NFL picks in a pinch. It's
(32:58):
gonna be two minute drill on theother side before we get over to Villanova
football. So back after this aftera short break right here on the Galer
