On December 29, 1960, 8 year old Wendy Stevenson and 9 year old Peggy Rahn became fast friends during a day trip to the beach in Pompano Beach, FL. Around 1 pm, the girls walked down the shoreline, a quarter each in hand, toward a beachfront ice cream stand. Neither girl would ever be seen again.
