In Episode 666 [eep!] of The Daily Beaver Morning Show, as the G7 meeting approaches, Prime Minister Carney surprises on matters of defense, announcing that Canada will finally meet its NATO commitment to spend 2% of GDP on defense. It's a bold move that has strategic implications related to several of his other goals.

Also: More guests are invited to or announce their attendance at the G7 meeting, one of whom is extremely controversial, causing some to remark that it's looking less and less like a G7 meeting and more like a "Gee! Really?!?!?" one.

We also wonder: "Is Danielle Smith high??!" following an interview on CTV's Question Period during which she makes yet another disconcertingly laughably false claim, one that should raise concerns about either her competence or mental health.
