This is episode 66 of The Truth Tank.
This is Part 1 of a 2 part look into the events that took place on New Years Eve 2024. The New Years Eve Terror Attack in New Orleans and the CyberTruck Explosion outside of Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. Beginning with the events that unravelled on New Years Eve in Bourbon Street when a former US Army veteran planted IEDs before driving a rented truck into a crowd before being killed in a shoot out with the police.
Both the New Orleans and Las Vegas have some striking similarities; both used rented vehicles via the same app, and they both involved explosives and firearms. In Part One, we will be diving deep into the motivations and background of the New Orleans attacker. Why did he carry out this attack? He had a decent job and had served his country. What could possibly possess someone like this to take 14 innocent lives?
Attacks like these are on the rise globally. Are the attacks in New Orleans part of a bigger network? What can be done about it? Can the use of Artificial Intelligence help screen potential suspects preventing future attacks? And what can be done to turn disillusioned people looking for an outlet to channel their hate through from the path of terror?
