I'm with the ugly quacking duckand we have sunny with us hello
everyone.
Sunny (00:16):
I'm sunny and I'm with
every quacking duck too, and you
are listening to us live onInstagram, I hope.
Bruce (00:29):
Yep, I hope to.
Hi Sunny, hi Bruce, all right, yeah, this is a new setup we've
got running.
To do Instagram, I had to dovideo.
Uh, to do instagram, I had todo video.
(00:50):
And to do video, I had to hookup all my video equipment again
and, um, I'm out of practice.
I used to put it on twitch andplay my games and all that fun
stuff.
Sunny (00:59):
so I'm out of practice oh
, I only see my duck side.
Bruce (01:08):
Oh yeah, that's the duck,
the ugly quacking duck portrait
that I've got up there rightnow.
And hang on, I'll switch andgive everybody a good shot of us
.
Let's see, let's do the camerashot.
Here we go.
Hi everybody, this is Bruce andI hope you're doing good and I
(01:30):
hope you enjoy this live today.
I'm not going to leave it onthat, though you know I don't
want to be live.
So there you go.
You see my ugly mug and we'rejust going to leave it off, okay
.
Sunny (01:49):
Okay, you seem ugly mug
and we're just going to leave it
off, okay, okay.
Well, I think that's a gooddeal you about broke that camera
, bruce.
Bruce (01:53):
Well, thank you for
letting everybody know that.
Anyhow, we are live today andit is friday, april the 11th,
and it is 403 pm, central Timehere in the Midwest, in Southern
Illinois.
We're coming from our studio inthe Mount Vernon area and we
(02:20):
are glad to be aboard and whatwe're going to do today.
We're only going to stay about15 minutes.
We don't want to keep it verymuch longer and I forgot to hit
record on my mixer so I lostabout the first few minutes of
that, but hopefully the audiowill come out good on my other
(02:42):
program and we'll be able tosnatch that.
Anywho, hope everybody had agood week.
Uh, today's friday, yay.
Uh, it is the one day off I'vegot and I try to utilize it to
get work done around the houseand to do podcasting.
(03:02):
However, I spent the wholemorning trying to get the
equipment set back up because Iwanted to do live on a social
media account and this is theone I could do it free on.
I have a few followers.
They'll have to get used to mebeing on there, but hopefully I
will be able to get more peopleinvolved as we go.
Sunny (03:26):
That's the plan oh, as we
go, you plan on doing this more
often, are you bruce?
Bruce (03:36):
yes, I am.
Uh, hopefully we'll do it quitea bit more often.
Uh, we'll have to see.
There I can hear myself now.
I had to turn my headphones up.
Sunny (03:48):
You know, you had that
problem when we was testing and
you couldn't hear yourself andyou forgot to turn the
headphones on.
Bruce (04:00):
I did.
Yeah, I did, but I've got themon now and I've got them on now
and I've got the audio turned upso I can hear myself and I can
tell I'm actually talking.
Yay, I'm going across the air,so to speak.
It's actually across the wire.
But, anyhow, if you're tuningin with us on Instagram which I
(04:26):
hope you are you will have tocomment on us, let us know what
you're hearing.
But I will type out a messagehere for later on, in case
anybody sees me, for later on,in case anybody sees me.
But we want to welcome everybody, whether you're hearing this
(04:52):
and seeing it on Instagram or ifyou are listening to it on our
regular podcast, which we willfinish recording later on.
Hopefully, we'll start gettinga little bit more people, um,
acquainted with our live andwe'll get some more stuff
locally.
That's the plan and, uh, I wantto go check my instagram
(05:15):
account on my phone and see ifit even shows the live, because
it's supposed to.
This is supposed to be a publiclive and we'll just have to see
.
I just got a notice that Mark'sfollowing me.
So hello, mark, if you're onthe live.
(05:35):
If you're not, I'll catch youup next time.
But just in case, let me getthe message across to Mark.
I mean just because he followedus a little bit.
Sunny (05:52):
You've been goosed by the
ugly quacking duck.
I like that.
That's a good one.
Bruce (06:01):
Yep, that was neat,
wasn't it?
We like doing that, we likekeeping everybody acquainted
with our things that we do.
But anyhow, we should be live.
I don't see it.
I don't know how we're supposedto see it, but uh, there we go.
Uh, we got it going anyhow.
(06:23):
Uh, what do we think about theweather?
It's been kind of weird up anddown this week.
Uh, cold in the mornings.
In fact I had frost on mywindows.
What?
Three times this week, I thinkmaybe twice.
I need to start keeping ajournal because the weather is
so crazy and uh, it's, it's beenweird and we've had rain off
(06:46):
and on for two days, three daysmaybe.
Again, I need to keep a journalso I can actually report the
news accurately.
But what we've got today is alittle bit nicer weather.
It's been sunny and then it's'sbeen cloudy, but we don't have
(07:10):
rain and there's blooms.
I've got a tree and I don'tremember what the name of that
tree is, but it's got whiteflowers and it blooms once a
year and it's beautiful and it'sgot green leaves on it and it's
blooming right now and my yardneeds to be mowed.
I was going to set up a camerato shoot out the window and I
thought I can't find my camerafor one thing, and then I
(07:34):
couldn't find any thing to shoot.
It stand it up with my tripod'sgone, my camera's gone.
I think it's stored in aspecial place, but I'm not sure,
um, but anyhow, we are uhwatching this and seeing what's
happening.
I have uh uh been payingattention to the weather and
(08:02):
it's really clouding up outthere, sun's kind of gone away,
but however, thanks to allweather and it's really clouding
up out there, sun's kind ofgone away, but however, thanks
to all that rain and the grassgrowing, I have a whole bunch of
dandelion blooms out there.
I mean a whole bunch.
They just come up overnight.
So after I do this live, I'mgoing to go out there and pick a
(08:22):
bunch of them, boil them andmake me some dandelion tea.
It's good stuff, good for yourbody and it is good.
That's what the plan is.
Sunny (08:33):
Oh boy, can I go out and
pick with you?
Bruce (08:37):
I don't know if you can
do any picking there, Mr Frog.
Sunny (08:42):
Well, I've got a long
tongue, I can get some bugs.
Bruce (08:48):
Alright, well, you can go
with me, I don't mind.
Sunny (08:52):
Yay, Hip, hip hooray.
Bruce (08:56):
Okay, are you going to
morph into something else one of
these days?
Sunny (09:01):
I just might, but I'm not
telling until we do it.
Bruce (09:06):
All right.
Well, that was still prettycool.
If you haven't seen that orheard that audio, you ought to
go back and look.
So it was neat.
I enjoyed it quite a bit.
We had it happen.
What was that?
Two podcasts ago, I think.
Yeah, I think you're right foronce.
(09:30):
Oh, thank you very much.
Hey, let's go to the weather.
Want to we have some goodweather happening somewhere, not
sure where, but on my weatherum channel.
I will pull it up.
Let me see if I know how to dothis now.
Let's see.
You got to bear with me.
(09:54):
I'm not used to this equipmentanymore.
I used to use it all the timeand then I quit using it for
obvious reasons.
I quit gaming on twitch, butnow I am doing it again and I
(10:16):
had to get used to everything.
So it's kind of kind ofconfusing.
And my camera on my setup it'sa virtual camera that I pull
everything up with in OBS to runon Riverside so I can broadcast
a live show and it's allbackwards.
(10:37):
Ha ha, that's funny, but anyway, if you read backwards, that's
where I'm on on and I am goingto pull up it's 53 degrees in
mount vernon, so it's close tothat here.
Uh, let me look it up.
I can look up my outsidethermometer and see what it is.
(11:01):
Maybe, if I can find it Hopeyou're not waiting for a good
answer it is 55 degrees out herein the neck of the woods, so,
hey, it's a little bit warmerand we like that.
Now you're talking about acomparison.
(11:23):
We're going to compare it toPhoenix, arizona, and it's right
now 95 degrees.
Wow, wouldn't you like to bethere?
Hot Humidity today.
Can't talk either.
Sunny (11:39):
Yeah, I heard that about
you Can't walk, can't talk,
can't think.
What are you good for, Bruce?
Bruce (11:48):
Wow, I don't know what to
say about that.
Sunny (11:52):
I know Don't say anything
.
Bruce (11:58):
Okay, back to the weather
.
It's 53 degrees in the MountVernon area, 60 degrees humidity
, the wind's blowing 8 miles anhour and the air quality is 67.
That's probably because of allthat pollen we've got.
I know I'm one of those thathas a lot of problems with
(12:22):
allergies Not as bad as most, but yeah, this is a bad season
for allergies, really, reallybad.
And in phoenix, arizona, thehumidity is only nine percent.
Way to go desert.
The wind's two miles an hour sothey're not getting much
cooling for that 95 degreeweather and the air quality is
(12:45):
28, so it's dry and dry.
We're gonna go back and look atthe details.
Okay, for mount vernon tonightit's supposed to be 33 degrees,
partly cloudy.
The wind's supposed to blownorth to northeast, around 10 or
15 miles an hour, decreasing toless than five miles per hour
(13:09):
later on that evening.
Yay, moon rise is supposed tobe at 6 30 pm and the moon set
is supposed to be at 5 43 am.
Yeah, there you go.
So right now we're having windnorth to northeast at 10 miles
an hour so and I'm sure it's notquite the same out here.
(13:33):
But anyway, there you go, we'regoing to go back and we're
going to compare that to toPhoenix Arizona.
Are you ready for this?
It just jumped up to 100degrees.
So Phoenix I learned to talk.
Phoenix Arizona is now 100degrees.
(13:55):
Wow, winds are west at 5 to 10miles an hour.
So the winds increased a littlebit Tonight.
They're only going to get downto 67, so they're going to be
warmer tonight than we are rightnow in Mount Vernon area.
Can you believe that?
I think we're getting rippedoff.
(14:16):
Maybe we ought to go south whatis that southwest?
And get some warm air and bringit back.
Tonight's supposed to be a clearsky.
In Phoenix Arizona the low'ssupposed to be 67.
The winds are going to besoutheast at 5 to 10 miles an
hour.
I think that's their normalthing on here, because that's
(14:41):
what they said about MountVernon, also on here because
that's what they said aboutmalvern and also, but anyhow,
sunrise was at 602 and sunsetsat 656, and the moon rise will
be at 603 pm and the moon setwill be at 518 am.
(15:04):
There you go.
That's the local and PhoenixArizona weather.
This has been brought to you byBruce at the Ugly Quacking Duck
and Sonny at the Ugly QuackingDuck and I'm liking this live
stuff.
(15:24):
And why is that?
Because you can't shut me off.
Oh yeah, I can Watch this.
Oh, there you go, Say something.
Sunny (15:41):
Hey, I don't hear you.
That's no fair.
Bruce (15:48):
Oh, there I am.
You better quit doing that.
Sunny (15:51):
Why.
I think it's kind of funny.
I don't.
I couldn't hear myself in theheadphones and nobody else could
hear me, could they Bruce?
Yep, brooke, brooke, I'm goingto start calling you Brooke
again, brooke.
Bruce (16:09):
Brooke, Brooke, Brooke,
oh my gosh.
Sunny (16:13):
Now you sound like a
little chicken, oh.
Bruce (16:16):
I'll chicken you, brooke,
all right, now I've made you
mad, all right.
Well, I would apologize, butnope, I don't think I will.
Sunny (16:25):
Oh, you're a brat and a
bum and a slacker.
You're a slacker.
Bruce (16:39):
Well, thank you for all
that, but, sonny, I do enjoy
having you here and having youtalk, so I like live also.
They can see how human we arewhen we're doing live speak for
yourself, you ready all right, Iwill.
Okay, now we'll go back to uhthe program and we always like
to do the earthquakes.
(16:59):
So we're going to do theearthquakes this week and I've
already brought it up on thescreen and, as you can tell,
we've got it set for seven days.
So now that I've got it on thescreen, sonny, you can't guess.
Sunny (17:16):
Well, I know I can see
the screen too, Duh.
Bruce (17:23):
Yep, all right.
So if you look over here, hereI'm going to set everything up,
but it is seven days, allmagnitudes and the total, and I
forgot my book.
Hang on, I'm gonna put it onpause.
Oh no, I'm not, I don't have apause.
Can you hear that?
(17:56):
Yeah, that's a book I forgot toget out, so I had to give some
dead silence as I got it out.
But here we go, let me get mypencil.
Yeah, and we was at on four.
Four, we was at all of them.
All magnitudes was at 2201, andsunny almost guessed it on the
(18:20):
nose, but not quite.
He was at 2100, I think, so hewas a little bit low.
Anyhow, this week they're at alittle bit lower, not much 2150.
So, uh, we had a little bitless earthquakes this week,
(18:40):
which is a good thing.
However, I'm kind of lookingfor something bad to happen.
The way it's rained and theyhad these storms, especially up
the Midwest around the NewMadrid, I had to get my tongue
tied or untied New Madrid fault.
(19:02):
Well, it's really worrying methat we might have an earthquake
here soon.
I hope not.
I'm not in control of that, sodon't trust me.
But on the 11th, which is todayI'm marking it right now on the
paper we had 2150 allmagnitudes, which is a little
(19:29):
bit lower, and I'm going toswitch it now to the 2.5
earthquakes.
So the 2.5 earthquakes was 287287.
Sunny (19:47):
Can I get a clap?
No, don't do't do that, butanyway, what was it last week?
Bruce (19:56):
well, I'm glad you asked,
sonny.
Last week it was 297, so that'swhere they're down, right there
.
Yay, yay.
Well, that's a good sign, Ithink.
297, and we're at 287 now.
But what happened to theearthquakes that are 4.5 and
(20:20):
bigger?
They were 116 last time, whichwas 4-4.
So seven days, the last sevendays, they went to.
Are you ready for this?
118.
So they actually went up.
(20:40):
So that means we have to lookat the.
I don't type down or add or list.
How am I going to put that?
I don't list anything that'sover or under a 6.0 and over
(21:02):
that, because there's too many.
You're talking about 118 andthere's a very few.
Usually that's 6.0 and I'mscrolling down through the list.
Right now you can see it on thescreen, even though it's
backwards and I apologize forthat.
I'll try to get that worked out.
Maybe, uh, what it is, I can.
(21:23):
I can adjust the camera on theOBS program, but when I put it
on virtual so that the Riversidecan use it, it's backwards.
Now I tried to use the OBS whileI was setting this mess up
today.
That's what took me so long toget it set up.
(21:46):
I was working on OBS and usingit and I thought that would work
great.
You know, I really did.
I thought it would be awesomeand we would be able to use that
and it worked great and I coulddo all my um other camera views
with it.
(22:06):
However, the audio wasn'tcoming off of it very loud.
I mean, it was not loud at alland I don't know why that was um
it, just it was low.
And I turned the the mic up allthe way and I turned the uh
computer import mic up all theway to where I imported it into
(22:31):
the program and it didn't makeit loud enough and it made it
blurry, it made it too hot butnot loud.
So I don't know what theproblem is.
It's something to do with theoutput on OBS.
So I'm going to have to work onthat.
If I can get that to work, Iwon't have to go through
Riverside anymore.
(22:52):
I'll just have to remember tohit record when I do that.
And I haven't seen any comments, so I probably don't have
anybody on our live catchingthis.
So boo-hoo.
Anyhow, I will scroll downthrough this.
Anyhow, I will scroll downthrough this.
(23:15):
And I did not see anything thatwas 6.0 or above.
So they're all fives.
There's a bunch of fives.
There's a 5.6, a 5.5, 5.1s.
There's a bunch of fives andthen there's a bunch of fours.
So the fours usually don'tcause too much damage.
The fives can.
It's according to where they'reat and if they're in a lot of
(23:36):
population with buildings andstuff, and a lot of the
buildings are built now towithstand bad earthquakes.
Now here's a 5.8 in Indonesia.
They get hit all the time.
So there's quite a few and Icould name them all and spend a
lot of time and I don't want todo that.
I want to keep the live shortfor now.
(23:58):
When I start getting a betteraudience, I may just do the
whole podcast live and hopefullywe'll be able to get people to
comment and be part of thatexercise.
We'll just have to see.
But for now, that's theearthquake report for the last
(24:18):
seven days, and I am Bruce.
Sunny (24:22):
And I am Sunny.
Bruce (24:25):
And we are glad you come
aboard to the live and we hope
you enjoy listening to it on ourpodcast.
So we're going to say adios, see you next time, or hear you.
Yeah, you'll get to see us too, let's see.
Let me go back to my programand I'll say bye the good old
(24:47):
fashioned way.
Here we go.
We're going to the camerafading out, hi bye.
Let's say bye there.
Uh, ugly quacking duck.
Sunny, you ready for that?
And that's backwards too, butthat's the only quacking duck
(25:07):
yeah, I'm ready to say bye okay,I'm gonna count it off.
Three, two, one.
All right, that's very good.
Stay tuned for our, our podcast, everyone.
(25:30):
If you're listening to this onthe podcast already, well, we're
back and we did the live andwe're going to finish up the
podcast and talk a little bitabout news and what's happening
in life.
I hope everybody's doing goodabout news and what's happening
in life.
I hope everybody's doing good.
We are pretty level on thingsat work.
(25:54):
We haven't had any biginterruptions this week to speak
of anyway, and hopefully wewon't have any more like we did
a couple weeks ago.
Sunny (26:13):
That was kind of not
interesting, but it broke the
monotony for sure.
Yeah, I hear what you say,Bruce, and thinking about how
you think about that stuff, itmust have been kind of wild.
Bruce (26:25):
Well, I wouldn't go that
far, but we won't talk a bit
more about that.
I'm going to put my littlenotebook up for the earthquake,
because we did that on the live,we don't have to do it again,
and we're going to go over alittle bit of news.
We don't have a whole lot goingon today, so we won't have a
(26:45):
whole lot to talk about, but weare going to work towards
hopefully, maybe next week wemay have an interviewee that
we're going to do an interviewwith and talk about some things
and just give it a little bit ofa change to our podcast,
(27:07):
hopefully.
Sunny (27:09):
Hopefully, hopefully, see
, I can do it too.
Bruce (27:14):
You're a copy.
Sunny (27:18):
What happened to your mic
?
Are you still there, bruce?
Hello Bruce, your mic's notworking, it's still not working.
Bruce (27:33):
Oh, there, it is Okay.
I don't know what happened.
Maybe I need to start slappingit around a little bit.
Sunny (27:41):
Maybe that's what you
already did.
You just smacked it too manytimes, buddy just smacked it too
many times, buddy.
Bruce (27:54):
Well, I don't smack my
radio around, but uh, that could
have happened anyway.
Um, we'll just have to see whenI get off here if, uh, there's
something loose or I bumpsomething, don't know what's
going on.
I don't know if you noticed onthe video that we did live, if
anybody's seen it and you're notgoing to get to see it on the
(28:15):
podcast, that's only livebecause we're on instagram.
But uh, I had my green screen.
Um, it's a, it's basically justa sheet that I went out and
purchased years ago, cause Ididn't have any money and, uh,
hung it up on two hooks and Ican hang it up and bring it down
(28:38):
.
So I had it up, was in allintentions of going with a green
screen on OBS, but, uh, Icouldn't get the audio loud
enough.
Um, so I couldn't get the greenscreen to work, which was kind
of a bummer.
But hopefully I'll get that towork and maybe I can incorporate
(28:59):
what I've got on the camera ornot on the camera on the monitor
behind me, like them other guysdo.
I did that once or twice beforeand it worked pretty good when
the green screen part worked, but I'll have to work on that,
so we are finishing up ourpodcast.
Sunny (29:21):
Uh, this is bruce and I'm
sunny for the hundredth time.
Bruce (29:27):
Oh, don't exaggerate, it
was only 99.99.
Sunny (29:32):
Oh, good grief, You're as
bad as I am.
Bruce (29:35):
No, you're as bad as I am
.
Sunny (29:38):
Whatever?
Bruce (29:40):
Okay, we keep each other
on our toes, don't we there?
Sunny (29:47):
Maybe, maybe our toes,
don't we there?
Um, maybe I'm not afraid to gowith you on anything you say.
Bruce (29:59):
Well, that's probably a
good idea.
Anyhow, this is the 105th letme look, yep, 105th episode for
our podcast and we started withthe live this time and we'll
probably do that again.
(30:19):
I kind of like doing that.
It makes for a good beginningfor the show.
However, I may change it.
Sunny (30:33):
Oh my goodness, Can you
make up your mind?
Bruce (30:37):
I can, but I don't want
to.
That's the fun of doing apodcast.
I can just do whatever I wantuntil somebody don't like it, no
more.
Sunny (30:46):
Yeah, you're going to run
your whole audience off the one
person that you have.
Bruce (30:53):
Oh yeah, that reminds me
I'm going to start calling this
the worst podcast in the worldMaybe the known universe, that's
even better.
Sunny (31:04):
There's your mic.
It went dead again, and goodgrief.
What are you trying to say?
Worse, we're not that bad is itback?
Bruce (31:15):
okay, it's back.
I'm going to have to work onthat.
That's getting annoying,cutting out right when I'm
talking.
But yeah, the worst podcast inthe known universe.
That's what we are.
So that means we can.
Anything above that can getbetter right.
So all I have to do and improveone thing, improve, improve
(31:38):
something else and we get better.
There you go.
So hey, it's a good thing, andyou know we'll set the standards
so low.
Everybody will be happy whenthey hear it because they'll say
, ah, that can't be the worst.
Sunny (31:55):
Oh boy, I don't know what
to think about you, Bruce.
Bruce (32:01):
Yeah, I don't either.
You know what?
I've got that window open overthere and it's getting kind of
cold in the studio.
I might shut that window.
But anyhow, 105th episode ofthe worst podcast in the known
universe, the Ugly Quacking Duckpodcast.
(32:21):
There you go, that's it.
We got it made.
Now let's talk a little bitabout NASA, shall we?
There's been a lot ofconspiracies about what NASA
really is or is not, and I don'twant to field that argument at
this time.
That could fill up a wholepodcast three or four times.
(32:44):
But what I want to do is talkabout how they have.
Let me see if I can find thearticle to say it exactly like
they did.
But the article actually talksabout a destruction of a planet.
Yeah, that's right, they haveseen a star get brighter at one
(33:10):
time.
And let me see, yeah, there wego.
Nasa's Webb's autopsy of aplanet swallowed by star yields
surprise, field, surprise, anduh, they actually had a picture
(33:38):
on here of this planet rotatingaround this star.
And then it gets engulfed andthe star it kind of brightens
and it's got a halo around it asit brightens and then it's got
a ring around the star that has,uh, I guess the junk left over
from the planet being eight, andwhich is all really good.
(34:01):
But if you look at the pictures, it says artist's concept, so
they don't really have picturesof this star or of this planet.
What they have is an artistthat has drawn these pictures
(34:21):
out.
But apparently they thoughtthis star that had brightened
was turning into oh, I can'tremember what it was.
Now I read this article andit's been a little bit ago, and
(34:44):
they thought it was turning intoa supernova or something like
that to that effect.
And when they got the view fromthe NASA's Webb's telescope,
they found that it hadn't turnedinto that, but it had ate up
(35:07):
this planet that had beencirculating around it, or
orbiting in, as they call it,for like a millions of years.
And I'm not sure how they comeup with that, because they
didn't say anything aboutknowing the planet was there.
And then it's not there.
(35:28):
Uh, I don't get any of this.
But where?
Where it's come up from?
However, this is what they'rebelieving that this thing did
not turn into, didn't haveenough brightness to turn into
(35:48):
what they were thinking at thebeginning.
But when they discovered the,the picture, which is an artist
concept, I even downloaded thebigger picture, which it had a
link to do that.
And it has this awesome lookingpicture and lo and behold, down
(36:08):
on the right edge cornerhowever you want to say it in
quite a big, big print it saysartist's concept.
In other words, this is not areal image, this is something
they dreamed up and made anartist picture of it.
(36:29):
How interesting is that?
So I you know, seeing that andthe misleading, how it misleads
the um viewer, I'm not sure Ieven trust their statement about
the whole thing, about thewhole star.
(36:52):
Kind of strange, anyhoo, take itas you like, but NASA's saying
this star ate up the planet thathad orbited it for millions of
years and now they can see thetrail of a leftover planet and
they know that's what that is.
(37:13):
So if you want to go tosciencenasagov missions web and
NASA's web autopsy of a planetswallowed by a star yields
surprise, you can find thearticle.
Autopsy of a planet swallowedby a star yields surprise.
You can find the article.
(37:34):
Or just do a search for NASA'sweb the autopsy of a planet
swallowed by a star yieldssurprise, and that should bring
you up to the article.
And lo and behold, we'retalking about stars and science
fiction.
Oh, wait a minute.
(37:58):
Did I say that?
Sunny (37:59):
Yes, you did Science
fiction.
Bruce (38:03):
Oh, wait a minute did I
say that, yes, you did science
fiction.
Well, maybe I just meant to saylet's talk about science
fiction, shall we?
Yeah, let's talk about sciencefiction all article.
But they have ranked the bestscience fiction movies of all
(38:28):
time.
Now, I like science fiction.
It kind of drags you out of thenormal news cycle and the
normal new world cycle so andyou get to believe in things
it's not real, kind of like nasadoes.
Oh, did I say that?
(38:49):
I better watch that?
Sunny (38:51):
oh, good grief, quit
playing around all right, I'll
try Anyhow.
Bruce (39:01):
This article is pretty
neat, but I was curious to see
how they ranked it and I'mreally not sure, but the number
one listing, for it starts outat 100.
So they've got 100 of the topsci-fi movies of all time and I
think the 100th one would be theworst one.
(39:24):
And then it goes down throughthe list till you get to number
one.
I think that's where they wherethey did this.
There's not a good explanation, but if 100 is the top dog, they
definitely got the wrong one.
But it's a good movie.
(39:44):
Don't get me wrong.
I really enjoyed it.
However, it's not the top dogof all, but Independence Day
100th come out in 1996.
That's their movie and it says100, so I guess that is the
(40:08):
least favorite or the leastmovie it says.
And so we begin.
We're all lists of greatscience fiction must, with Will
Smith punching an alien in themouth.
Yeah, that was pretty cool.
And then to name the next onedown, 99 is movie to come out in
(40:29):
2021.
Boy, I can't talk.
And it's dune dune, not the oldone.
I've seen the old one and thenI've seen the new one.
This is the newer one, the oldone, I can't remember when it
and then I seen the new one thisis the newer one, the old one I
can't remember when it come out, but it's been a quarter wall
back, um.
But this one would come from a1965 novel and it's not bad.
(40:53):
I enjoyed it.
It's pretty, actually it'spretty good.
But uh, they said that's number99.
So let's scroll on down.
One of my favorites not thefavorite, I've got a lot of
favorites but it's Serenity, andthey made a series called it
(41:13):
wasn't Serenity?
What was that series called?
Now, I can't think of it.
I should have looked it up, butanyway, it was about this show
and, um, then they finally madea movie about this show, brought
it all together.
But serenity is a really goodsci-fi movie.
It's kind of based, um, it'sbased in outer space, about a
(41:37):
cowboy type personality runninga ship that does all kinds of
stuff and a lot of, a lot ofit's illegal and he takes on a
bunch of misfits to help him runthe ship and that's what the
movie's about.
And one of them's a girl thathas been.
She's very smart, she's a younggirl and as she was growing up
(42:02):
she was taken to a specialschool to be taught special
things and what they did wasexperiments on her and made her
a killing machine.
So that kind of comes outduring the movie.
But hey, it's a pretty goodmovie.
If you haven't seen Serenity, golook it up.
And they've got many morelisted on here.
(42:23):
And I don't know how manypeople watched the black black
panther, which was a really goodshow.
I enjoyed that a lot.
Um, and it was rated at 92.
So if that's coming down fromthe bottom of the list, that's
pretty darn good because it'saway from the list.
(42:44):
But if it's going up no, I saidthat wrong if it's coming down
from the bottom of the list, that's not real good because
it's only got 92.
If it's um, 100 is the top ofthe list and it's not too bad.
It's up there pretty close, butI don't know how they're rating
it.
I'm afraid that this is towardsthe bottom.
(43:05):
They have a couple animated orcartoon-style sci-fi movies on
the list and then they haveAvatar from 2009.
I really enjoyed that movie.
They rated it at 77.
So there you go.
I'm not sure how they're ratingthese, but I don't want to get
(43:25):
into that.
And that 76, which come out in2016, their rival, and if you're
not seeing that one, you needto watch that one.
That was really good, reallyreally good, really good, um,
(43:47):
really really good.
And then at 75, one of my oneof my favorite shows is star
wars.
Yep, episode four, the returnof the jedi, and uh, all the
star wars series is good.
They had rogue listed fartherdown.
I didn't read it off, but allthe.
I don't care what the Star Warsis.
I like that thought process andthe way they put it together,
(44:08):
from the beginning show to allthe shows that come afterwards.
Some of them are better thanothers, but I still like them.
I won't put any of them down.
Sunny (44:19):
What you saying, bruce?
Bruce (44:21):
that you're a sci-fi
junkie all right, um, and then
70 this is going to kill mystepdaughter.
She loves this movie.
70 from 2008 is iron man.
Let's give it a clap, andthat's just for her, in case
(44:46):
she's listening.
And not at all.
Sci-fi is about space, comingin at 52, from 1987, predator
Now, if you have not seen it,surely you've seen that movie.
But if you haven't, go watchthat man.
It's got a neat alien on it andArnold Schwarzenegger, when he
(45:09):
was younger, played the bad guythat went against him.
It's a good movie, coming in at48, ghostbusters, from 1984.
That was a great movie too, andthe one I've been waiting to
say from 1997, coming in at 42.
(45:29):
The Fifth Element, now thatmovie I've watched over and over
and over.
It's got good music with it andit's kind of silly.
It's serious but silly, and Ireally enjoy it.
It's one of silly.
It's serious but silly and Ireally enjoy it.
It's one of those movies that Ican turn it on, just kind of
fall asleep, and it's just great.
This is my go-to movie when Ijust don't want nothing that I
(45:53):
have to think very hard about.
It's a great movie.
Go watch it if you haven't everseen it.
And one more movie I want toannounce before I go down to
number one.
This is a 1988, 41.
I've got this on.
I did have it on videotape andI burned it on a DVD.
(46:17):
This is a one-of-a-kind moviethat a lot of people like to
talk about when they're talkingabout conspiracies.
But it's they live awesomemovie.
Got to go see it.
Got a wrestler in it, all right, one more.
I mean there's so many on herethat I, like I would like to
tell you all of them, but Idon't want to bore you to death.
But back to the future.
(46:38):
From 1985, comes in at 21, andif you'd like to see jeff
goldblum when he was very young,go to what.
Number 19 from 1986, the flyyep, he played in that.
It's pretty wicked show.
But anyhow, let's go down allthe way down to one.
(47:01):
Uh, star wars is at number six, aliens at five, close
encounters of the third kind atfour.
Three, alien two, blade runnerthe original one, and then
number one.
Are you ready for this?
Take a guess, sonny no, I'm notguessing.
Sunny (47:26):
You yeah, you, um.
No, I'm not the sci-fi buff youare, so go ahead tell us
alright, number one come out in1968.
Bruce (47:42):
I've got this one as a
collection too.
They've got another one, 2010.
But this is 2001,.
A Space Odyssey it was done byStanley Kubrick.
He brought out details that wedidn't dream of having back then
(48:05):
when he brought it out.
Like I said, it would come outin 1968.
It's a fantastic movie.
It's got telecommunications init with video.
They did not have that, or wewere told they didn't have it,
in 1968.
(48:26):
But anyhow, TV dinners you needto watch it and pick up all
that stuff.
It's kind of cool.
Well, I'll quit boring you todeath with sci-fi.
Sunny (48:41):
Oh, I liked it.
Maybe somebody out there likedit too.
Bruce (48:46):
Yeah, well, I like sci-fi
.
In fact, I got another story.
I've got to finish heresometime.
I started and I played it on mypodcast.
I couldn't read it very well.
I was a bad reader.
I can write that stuff, butwhen I couldn't read it very
well, I was a bad reader.
I can write that stuff, butwhen I try to read it for an
audience, I don't do very well.
(49:07):
I get tongue-tied.
So before I close, I'd like toit's Easter coming up in the
next.
They're saying it's on the 20th, but I don't believe that's
when it really happened.
But anyway, I want to read aBible verse to you.
(49:29):
It's out of the NIV version andthis is the time when Yeshua
(49:53):
Yahuwah no, let me say thisright Yahusha, yahusha, there
you go.
I'm sorry, forgive me was takenbefore Pilate and he was
questioned in what they did.
So what they did, yeah, thepriest basically took him up to
the governor and the governortook him to Pilate and Pilate
(50:15):
questioned him and he didn'tfind any fault in him.
So he asked the members there, the high priest and some of the
crowd that was brought to himwho they wanted to release him,
or barbarous, or barb of youknow the story.
I can't say words very wellsometimes, anyhow.
(50:38):
Anyhow, what happened is theysaid they wanted Yahusha kept
and Barabbas freed, and Pilate, being afraid of the crowd being
(51:00):
upset, went ahead and handed himover to be crucified.
So he turned him over to thesoldiers and the soldiers
basically took, like I said, this coming out of NIV.
They stripped him, put ascarlet robe on him and then
twisted together a crown ofthorns and set it on his head.
(51:23):
They put a staff in his righthand.
Then they knelt in front of himand mocked him.
Hail, king of Jews.
They spit on him and took thestaff and struck him on the head
again and again.
Now I read this many, manytimes and I've heard it preached
(51:43):
many, many times, but thethought never really occurred to
me when they said they knelt infront of him and mocked him.
Hail, king of the Jews.
They said.
And it just struck me that theyhad this man bound, had a thorn
(52:11):
crown on his head and they wasmocking him saying you know,
king of Jews.
Him saying you know, king ofjews.
And my thought was immediatelyone day he will be back, and
whether it's in our lifetime ornot doesn't matter, because all
(52:32):
eyes, the bible says we'll seehim.
All knees will, all will bow tohim, even if you're past
already, you're no longer withus, you're going to see him.
Every eye will see him and they, you know, they may have bowed
(52:55):
down to another man and gave himall their worship and all their
money and whatever, but whenthis person shows back up and
says it's over and it willreally be over and we will all
(53:15):
be gathered together to bejudged, there's not going to be
no mocking.
That person, that person isgoing to have control.
That person is going to havethe might and when he comes back
, he's not going to be holding astaff in his right hand that he
was beat with, he's going tohave the sword of truth and I
(53:37):
pity any of us that doesn't lookto him now, before he comes
back then.
That's all I got to say aboutthat, folks.
Sunny (53:50):
There you go Saying that
again I need to watch that movie
.
Bruce (53:57):

that and you hadn't watched thatmovie really weird.
