SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Hello everyone and
welcome to another Unrayed
(00:02):
Monthly Digest for the month ofSeptember.
And I'm your host, StefanoPartida.
No, you're not.
Yeah, yeah, this is my show.
Let's get started.
In the previous digest, I hadalready announced to you that
(00:23):
Unraid 7.2 beta 3 was available.
However, on October 1st, releasecandidate 1 became available.
So instead, we're gonna talkabout that.
With this latest release, ofcourse, they have added the
responsive web UI, which youwould have seen in the betas,
but if you wanted to wait tillthe release candidates, that is
now available.
There's also the built-in UnraidAPI where the community drives
(00:46):
their feature requests.
And there's also a bountyprogram where you, yes,
yourself, can actually developcode for this API and get a
monetary award and or communityrecognition.
RAID Z expansion has also beenadded so you can grow the size
of your Z pool one at a timewithout taking your array
offline.
(01:07):
There's expanded file systemport for ext and TFS and XFAT.
This is great.
So if you have a Windows systemthat uses NFTS, you can now take
that drive and put it in yourUnraid array and it will also be
parity protected.
SSO and OIDC login has beenenabled in the Web UI, so you
can use your Unray.net accountor any third-party OIDC
(01:29):
provider.
There have been dashboard andweb UI enhancements like the CPU
usage stats now come from theAPI.
New notifications andmanagement.
There's a bell icon that willdisplay those.
Numerous fixes to alignment andpop-ups and dark mode.
(01:52):
For the VM and networkingimprovements, we have virtual
sound card support now, bettermulti-monitor support, VM
manager, now warns if PCIhardware assignments change and
darker IPv6 custom networks nowsupport ULAs.
A couple of other cool featuresthat have been added, one of
which is EMMC support.
That's really cool.
So that means you could havereally fast storage for a cash
(02:12):
pool, probably.
And then we also have the uh orunready has the ability now to
auto-authorize Thunderbolt 4devices.
So that's pretty nice to have.
Also don't forget Riser FS isdeprecated now and that will no
longer be supported.
You should see a notification inthe web UI if you are running
that.
And hopefully none of you are.
And of course, before updatingfrom the betas to the release
(02:36):
candidates or really at all, always update your Unraid
plugins, especially the UnraidConnect plugin and any NVIDIA
driver plugins that you might beusing, because there could be
some conflicts there whenupgrading versions.
So be sure to upgrade yourplugins first.
A new USB creator tool has beenreleased, so that will make
deployments much easier now.
But wait a minute, you're sayingwe've always had one.
(02:58):
Well, not on Linux, you haven't,and now it's totally available.
So anyone that is using Linuxcan now use a tool to make
deploying Unraid that mucheasier to your USB devices.
As you may notice, Ed, aka SpaceInvader 1, is now here in
America.
And while I can't tell youexactly why he's here just yet,
there has been some contentthat's already been posted
(03:20):
online where him and I are onthe Unleashed show and we just
talk about some things that wefind interesting and really just
catch up with each other becausewe haven't seen each other for
two years.
And you can expect some morecontent on his channel as well.

eyes peeled.
