I thought giving up caffeine would be easy. I mean, I quit alcohol—how hard could this be?
Turns out… really hard.
In this solo episode of The Undrunken™ Podcast, I share what happened when I quit caffeine for a liver cleanse and got hit with the worst headache of my life. I did this a handful of times over the past couple of years. This time, I am all in. Two weeks later though, I’m still tired, still missing my afternoon pick me up, and realizing just how dependent I’d become on stimulants to “feel normal.”
I talk about:
Why caffeine withdrawal hit me harder than quitting alcohol
The sneaky ways we rely on caffeine for energy and focus
How underfueling and overworking make caffeine feel “essential”
Tips I’ve learned (from friends and trial-by-fire) about hydration, exercise, and rebuilding natural energy
This one’s part rant, part reflection, and totally real. Whether you’re thinking about cutting back, doing a detox, or just curious —this episode is for you.
