What if the hardest stretch of your life is quietly training you to become someone softer, steadier, and more powerful than you imagined? That’s the heartbeat of our conversation with Sarah Tolson—medium, Reiki master teacher, and founder of Grounded Harmony—whose path winds through early family loss, a decade-long rupture with her mom, and the unthinkable shock of her young daughter’s seizures and cancer diagnosis. Months in the hospital forced her to sit still, breathe, and listen. After remission, a single Reiki session mirrored back everything she’d privately experienced and cracked open a new reality: spirit is near, intuition is real, and healing can be both grounded and mystical.

We dig into how Sarah reconciles an analytical day job in medical billing with a calling to hold space for grief, transition, and uncertainty. She shares the moment she heard, “There are others, and you need to find them,” and how accepting her mediumship helped her stop assuming she knew anyone’s story—including her own. We talk about soft strength, the kind that replaces road rage with grace, and why boundaries and humility made her a better mom to a fiercely independent daughter still navigating a rare seizure disorder. You’ll hear how loved ones in spirit often arrive with laser-accurate messages that mirror a client’s struggle, reminding us of inherited grit and the steady presence of an unseen team.

Sarah also brings it down to earth: Reiki as real respite for parents in pediatric oncology, a mother of micropreemies who found space to breathe and then turned around to build a community event honoring cancer kids, and simple ways to play with energy in daily life—sending patience to the driver who cuts you off, or asking a stubborn situation to soften. The throughline is choice. We can’t always choose events, but we can choose our stance and our story.

If this resonates, connect with Sarah at Grounded Harmony to experience a mediumship reading or remote Reiki session. And if you found value here, subscribe, share this with someone who needs it, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find these conversations.

Thank you so much for having me, Nicole.

SPEAKER_01 (01:29):
Oh my gosh, me too.
And it's so interesting becauseI know we were talking about
setting up this interview awhile ago, and Spirit was like
mid to end of October.
Mid to end of October.
So we've done that.
And so um I think it's probablya product of me rebranding my
podcast, whatever you're goingthrough.
I'm not quite sure, but I'm sureit will come out today why we

(01:49):
have to delay the start of thispodcast.
I'm so excited.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
So I would love it if you couldgive a little background about
you and your story and how yougot started in the spiritual
space.

SPEAKER_00 (02:04):
Yeah.
So unbeknownst to me, the thebuilding up to my story and how
I opened up to spirit, thatstarted really, really young for
me.
But I didn't realize it at thetime.
Um, my my life uh when I wasyounger was not the easiest.
I had parents that loved me verymuch, um, but I was kind of left

(02:28):
to my own to do a lot of things.
And I was the oldest of foursiblings, and so um kind of
responsible for them growing up.
Uh and I became a mom at 17.
So a lot of hard things withthat, had to make a lot of life
decisions of, you know, do Iwant to work hard and make my
way, or should I rely on thegovernment and state?

(02:49):
And my husband and I, you know,we chose the former and pulled
ourselves up by our bootstraps, and we worked really hard
throughout our lives.
Um, and at a very young age, Ithink we were our early 20s, uh,
his mom passed away, followed bya grandparent and another
grandparent and anothergrandparent and another
grandparent.

(03:10):
So a lot of loss um, really, really young in our lives and a
lot of struggles.
And um, on the heels of all ofthose passings, um, my family
started having issues.
I have a brother who was in acar wreck um and became a
quadriplegic when he was 18years old.

(03:30):
And so you right, you couldimagine that that's a little
traumatic.
Um, and then followed that onthe heels of my other brother
coming back from serving in Iraqwith a lot of trauma and
starting down a road to drugaddiction at a very young age.
Um, and during all of that time,my mom and I had falling out,

(03:55):
and we went no contact for about10 years.
Um, and so a lot of challenges, right?
A lot of hard things that werehappening in my life.
And um, I think we've been nocontact for about 10 years, and
my mom had an aneurysm andpassed.
And of course, I'm the oldestchild.

(04:16):
I have one brother that's aquadriplegic, another brother um
that was addicted to drugs andyou know, not really reliable,
and then my youngest sister, who's much younger than me.
Um, so I was left to kind oftake care of mom, be in charge
of medical decisions and lastaffairs.
So a lot of hard things.
Um, but then then came the realwhammy.

(04:40):
My daughter, uh, who is let'ssee, she was seven years old at
the time, started havingseizures, and she's relatively
healthy kiddo, um, you know, meeting milestones and things,
and she starts having seizures.
And so we go to the children'shospital, and they don't really
know what's going on, but thingsget progressively worse.
We're admitted, they nobodyknows why she's having all of

(05:02):
these seizures back to back, andthen she gets a cancer
diagnosis.
So we're in the hospital overher eighth birthday, and we get
a cancer diagnosis, which youcan imagine is a bit traumatic.
Um and our our worlds werereally and truly rocked.

(05:24):
Um, and so at this point, bothof my husband's parents have
passed, my mom has passed, um,our support group, thank God, my
husband has many siblings thatare amazing.
Um, and so we did have quite abit of support during this time,
but um, you know, it's it's justhard.

(05:46):
And so um, as we're goingthrough her chemotherapy, which
we spent six to nine months inthe hospital, um, just you know,
chemotherapy, surgeries, imaging, just so many different
things.
Um really the only place that Iwas able to find solace was a

(06:06):
little bit of time here andthere sitting in meditation.
And that, you know, brought me alittle bit of peace and comfort.
But where I really opened up tospirit was after my daughter's
um cancer journey.
And just for the listeners, heads up, I'm able to smile and
talk about this because she'sokay.

(06:28):
Um, you know, she is cancerfree.
She does still have a seizuredisorder that is very rare.
Um, and who knows what herprognosis is with that.
We just kind of are along forthe ride.
Um, but when she finishedtreatment and was declared
cancer free, I went to one of myvery dear friends for a Reiki
session.
Um, my daughter had had Reikithroughout chemo, and it had

(06:51):
really helped her.
And so I thought, okay, youknow, medically she's stable.
I'm a mess.
Um as you could imagine.
Yep.
Um, and so I go to my friend forthis Reiki session because I'm
ready to begin my healingjourney, ready to put my life
back together after this six tonine months of hell.

(07:12):
And during this Reiki session,my mind is blown.
Um, because leading up to this,my day job, uh I run a medical
billing company.
It's very black and white, veryanalytical.
Um I'm not a creative person upto this point in my life.
And so, you know, I'm just kindof reaching out, um, grasping at

(07:36):
straws, looking for somethingthat's gonna help me to feel
better.
And so I go to this Reikisession and my mind is blown.
She takes me through thissession, and I'm having these
images and you know, seeingthings and these impressions and
memories are coming up, and I'mlike, wow, this is cool.
I feel really relaxed.
That's great.
But after the session, sherecounts for me every single

(07:59):
memory or vision or thing that Iexperienced without me telling
her.
And it's like, how the hell doyou know this?
Like, right, yes, what the hell?
So the next morning, um, so thatkind of really opened my eyes
because I I really trust thisperson, and there was no way for

(08:20):
her to know any of these things.
And the next morning I'm in theshower and thinking about some
of the things that she said, andI hear a voice in my head, and I
honestly thought I was crazy.
Um, but this voice told me thereare others and you need to find
them.
So I'm like, okay, well, who whothe hell are they?

(08:41):
And where are they?
And am I gonna be locked up?
Um, so from there I I text myfriend, I'm like, what the hell
did you do to me?
Um, what's happening?
And she tells me, No, that'sthat's not what it is.
You're a healer.
Um, and you know, this is a giftand this is a great message that
you have received.

(09:01):
And it took me some time, givenmy background, to accept that.
Um, because I thought, surelyshe's cuckoo too.
Um we're all losing it.
Yes.
Um, but you know, my backgroundwith her, my understanding of
her as a person told meotherwise, right?
And I I I knew I wasn't actuallylosing it.

(09:24):
So yeah, that started me downthis journey of let's explore
Reiki, right?
And let's let's learn aboutReiki.
Um, and from that, I you know, went through courses and got
training.
And so I'm now a Reiki masterteacher.
Um, but along that journey, Istarted having messages um from

(09:44):
spirit, and I I reached out juston a whim and I went to a
practice circle and I gave a20-minute reading to some lady
that I'd never met and had noidea how the hell I did it.
And honestly, I was scared totell my husband.
I didn't tell him for like sixweeks because I thought I was
losing it and he was gonna lockme up.

(10:07):
So, yeah, so through all of thattrauma and that hardship, all of
those things, um, they kind ofled up to me having this
awareness that when when ourloved ones, when they pass, they
actually they don't really goanywhere.
They're still with us day to daybecause when I was in the

(10:27):
hospital with my daughter and Iwould meditate, my mom was the
one that would come and sit withme.
Um right, and you know, I thinkI thought it was normal because
you know, she's my family,right?
Of course, your family you can,you know, communicate with.
I I don't know, to me thatdidn't fall in the mediumship

(10:48):
bucket at that point in time.
Um, but yeah, it just kind ofgradually in bits and steps,
that's how I have come to, youknow, be able to communicate
with others that have passed.
But um, yeah, it it's been awild, wild journey.

SPEAKER_01 (11:05):
I I can't so and what is I think most insane
about you, Sarah, and I knowlisteners are just hearing you
for the first time.
The first time I met you, Inever knew any of these things
about you, right?
And so, like, what is sointeresting to me is how your
story is so incredible and heartheartbreaking and the the

(11:29):
ultimate story of perseverancein my mind.
And yet, when you and it's sofunny because Spirit chose my
clothes today.
They were like, wear black, likelook really nice, but then like
put on a jean jacket over itbecause this is who you are,
because you have been throughthe gamut, you have been through
the worst of what a lot ofpeople could possibly go through

(11:49):
in your life.
And when people come and meetyou, you like you don't let any
of it show.
You like, and and and you're nota victim and you're not a poor
me.
And so there's just somethingabout you, and I and you did say
it, it's almost like you've donesuch a great job picking
yourself up by the bootstraps.
Um, and you're able to put somany things um in perspective

(12:13):
that allow you to not onlysurvive but thrive in your life.
And so I don't like I know thatyou know your team is proud of
you, but as somebody on theoutside watching you, I just
have to say, like, holy shit, like that's fucking incredible.
Um do you I and if you don't, ifthis is too personal, it would

(12:33):
uh but I would love, pleasedon't answer it or tell me to go
fuck off.
That's fine too.
Um, but I but what do you think?
I mean, I definitely want to gointo the mediumship and your
lessons or in like how it'saffected you, but before we go
there, what what do you thinkthe lesson was for all of the
trauma that you've been throughin your life?

(12:54):
And I know it's not you, right?
You've you were kind of put inthe middle of all of these very
traumatic situations.
And I love that you met yourhusband and had your daughter so
young because it's like God inthe spirit world set you up to
know that you're gonna need eachother through all of this stuff
that that's about to unfold foryou.
But is there any insight at asoul level why your soul would

(13:17):
choose so much trauma so quicklyin your life?
I'm sorry, that's the way I wantto say it.

SPEAKER_00 (13:24):
Yeah, yeah.
And I think um I think a couplethings.
So one thing that has been abenefit to me is like things are
pretty black and white for me ina lot of instances.
And so, I mean, that's reallyhow my brain works.
Things are very black and white.
It is or it isn't, it's true orit's not.

(13:47):
Um, and so as I've encounteredchallenges, it's like, okay,
well, I can make a choice, youknow, how how am I going to deal
with this?
It's up to me.
Um, and I think that all ofthese things, um, because
unfortunately, I also I learnedthe hard way, right?

(14:07):
That's another thing that I knowabout myself.
And so I do think had I not hadall of these lessons and had the
repetition of, okay, here'sanother shitty thing that you've
got to figure out and you've gotto pull yourself through.
I may not have had the beliefwhen my daughter went through
her cancer journey that I couldget myself through it had I not

(14:30):
had all of these difficultthings.
Um, and I do think so, one ofthe things that has always
really puzzled me about myjourney, um, because I've also
been a believer of everything, and I know this sounds terrible
in some circumstances to somepeople, but I think everything
does happen for a reason.
Um there is a reason foreverything that happens to us.

(14:54):
Um, and you know, I I knowpeople that have lost children.
There's a lot of cancer momsthat I'm friends with that have
lost children, and I canunderstand how in that
situation, I don't know if Iwould think the same thing, you
know.
So I'm I'm not claiming to knowthis for everybody, but for
myself personally, um,everything that has happened in

(15:15):
my life, I do think has happenedfor a reason.
Um, but the one thing thatreally puzzled me for a long
time was my relationship with mymom.
Um, because growing up, we wehad been thick as thieves.
We had been, you know, partnersand best friends, and she was
such a big part of my life.
And when she, and really it waswhen she hit midlife, she

(15:38):
divorced my dad.
Um, my brother had his wreck, and you know, things were rough
for her, and I think she wasalso going through menopause at
the time.
So I can imagine now lookingback, what a shit show that
might have been for heremotionally, but I couldn't
understand at the time why.
Why did there need to be thisrift between the two of us?

(16:02):
And I think now that she'spassed, now that my daughter has
gone through her cancer journey,it I I have finally figured that
out.
Um, you know, I needed spacefrom her so that I could stand
on my own two feet through allof these challenges.
Um, and that was only going tohappen if there was a large

(16:26):
physical distance or a largeemotional distance between the
two of us.
Um but not only that, I neededto understand and have a
perspective of what not havewhat having a toxic
relationship, what not havinghealthy boundaries, what that

(16:47):
can do to your relationship withyour child.
Um, because my daughter, fortunately or unfortunately, is
a mini of me.
Same.
Yeah.
And I am so hard-headed, I am sostubborn, and so is she.

(17:08):
And so it having thatperspective of like, okay, this
is what happens when you don'thave a good relationship with
your parent.
This is what happens when theydon't heal their shit, when
they're trying to parent you,um, then I wouldn't have had the
perspective to be able to workon myself and have the humility

(17:30):
to admit when I am wrong orwhen, you know, I need to put
myself on the back burner sothat I can work on parenting her
and setting her up for success.
And had I not had that fallingout with my mom, I wouldn't have
had the perspective to work onmyself and be who I needed to be

(17:52):
to help my daughter.
Um, because it's not in herinstance, you know, you think
about a kiddo that has cancer, and yes, she was very sick, um,
but she also her seizuredisorder is caused by an
autoimmune condition that causesa lot of behavioral issues.
And so she has a lot ofaggression at times, she has a
lot of meltdowns, and they'rebeyond her control.

(18:15):
Um, and if you are not a reallypatient and strong person, it's
really hard to get her throughthose things.
And so I've had to do asignificant amount of work on
myself.
And so all of those littletraumas and things that have
happened throughout my lifereally have helped me to open my
eyes and be aware of what I needto do to help her so that we can

(18:39):
have a better relationship thanwhat my mom and I had.

SPEAKER_01 (18:42):
I love that so much.
I really do.
And it's where you have beenthrough so much and it it could
have hardened you and allowed itto turn inward.
It's almost like it had theexact opposite effect for you.
And although I know that you'restrong enough to handle all of
these, you're also this amazingsafe space for your family, I'm

(19:03):
sure for your clients, and I'msure we'll we'll chat about that
too.
And I just I love that you havethe strength and ability to
persevere.
And I'm just, I'm in so much,I'm in so much awe of your
story.
And and I think it's a wonderfulstory to tell to remind people
that they have choices.
You don't need to be the victimin your life.

(19:24):
Um, and you in your soul hascurated this seemingly perfect,
imperfect path for you for areason.
So thank you for sharing thatand being vulnerable, Sarah.
I appreciate it.

SPEAKER_00 (19:35):
Yeah, yeah.
And you know, it's interestingthat you mentioned how my
journey could have hardened me,but it it had the exact opposite
effect.
So I've I've been going throughit with the energy of being as
crazy as it is.
Yes.
Yesterday um, I had a friendreach out and she's like, Well,
what's your why?
What's your why for all thethings in your life?

(19:55):
And so I took a few moments tosit down and write down my why.
And the biggest thing is for meto bring comfort to others, um,
to help soften the sharp edgesof pain and grief that other
people have.
And and not only that, but Iwant my daughter to see me
showing unconditional love toeverybody.

(20:18):
And, you know, that was onething in my childhood that love
was conditional, acceptance andpraise was conditional.
And, you know, I I want to see,I want her to see me giving that
to everybody and not reservingit for special situations or
when people do things the waythat I want.
And so it really is interestingthat you made that comment

(20:39):
because that softness is reallysomething that has been a big
change in my life because beforeher cancer journey, I was a lot
harder and a lot less forgivingthan I am now.
So it definitely has had theopposite effect for sure.

SPEAKER_01 (20:57):
Oh, that's so amazing.
So, and I love that why.
That's such a beautiful why.
And I think it's just so true toyou and the strengths that you
bring as a soul and the storythat you've been through.
And I think this is just anamazing example about how each
of our unique souls again choosethese very unique paths just for
exactly what we're meant to doin this lifetime.

(21:17):
So, speaking of which, Sarah, Iwould love to chat a little bit
about how this spiritual pathhas changed you.
I think you started to walk downthere and started to allude to,
you know, creating the softnesswithin you, this soft strength
within you.
I'm gonna call I'm gonna call itlike the best of the divine
feminine and masculine, kind ofmixed in one is really what it

(21:39):
feels like.
Um, how has the spiritual pathchanged you um in addition to
what you've already kind ofmentioned with the with the
softness, with the strength, with the perspective?

SPEAKER_00 (21:50):
Yeah.
So I think one of the biggestthings is um I I don't make
assumptions anymore aboutanything because I I think that
is the one thing that thespiritual path has taught me is
that I don't know Jack aboutanyone or anything.

unknown (22:10):
Yep.

SPEAKER_00 (22:12):
Truth.
Yep.
Yeah.
And you know, I think we can wecan make assumptions about
people's behavior, right?
And you know, somebody behaves acertain way.
Um, we assume that it must befor a certain reason, but we
just don't know.
And, you know, not only withpeople here in the physical and

(22:35):
assumptions about them, butassumptions about what we know
about life and our existence andconsciousness.
I I maybe know like this much,you know, there's there's so
much that we don't know and wecan't understand.
Um, but I believe it's possiblebased on my experiences, based

(22:56):
on the things that you know I'veseen and heard and and known.
So it's yeah, don't makeassumptions.

SPEAKER_01 (23:05):
Well said.
And um, like, yes, absolutely.
I think you are the number oneperson to say that because you
have been through so much.
And I don't think anyone wouldwalk in assuming any of that has
happened to you.
I know personally that I didn'tat all.
Um, and so as we think aboutkind of taking this beautiful
perspective you have ofnon-judgment, of um softness and

(23:27):
strength at the same time, howlet's talk about your business
and how you support your clientsand what are some of the things
that you help them with?
How what are some of thetransformations you've seen?
I'd love to chat more about likeyou and how you serve your
community.

SPEAKER_00 (23:42):
Yeah, so I think um one of the things that I find
really fascinating in connectingwith Spirit.
So there are two main serviceofferings that I focus on.
One is mediumship readings or uma mix of mediumship, Akashic
Records, psychic reading, uh,and the other is Reiki.

(24:03):
And um, you know, Reiki for me,that's where I started.
I I absolutely love Reiki somuch, and I'm I'm a really
strong, firm believer that ithas such an amazing place to
help people heal emotionally, physically, you know, mentally,
all of those different things.

(24:24):
But one of the things that Ithink is the biggest thing that
I see in my clients is generallypeople come to you and they have
some sort of a struggle or achallenge that they're
encountering, um, but they mightnot really be aware that that is
their biggest hurdle.
And until we go through areading and you know, their

(24:48):
spirit team brings in like, hey, these are the things that you're
really good at, you know, andthat's often what happens in my
readings.
I'll have, you know, a farmercome through for his
granddaughter, and he might, youknow, tell me about how he had a
lot of grit and you know, he hewas resourceful and he got the

(25:08):
job done no matter what.
Um and he was able to providefor his family.
That generally ends uppertaining to my sitter's
situation.
They're going through somethingwhere they don't know if they're
strong enough, they don't knowif they're gonna be able to make
it out the other end of thechallenge that they're
encountering.
And their loved one comes in toremind them look, I'm your

(25:31):
relative.
You have all of the strengththat is within me, is within
you.
And even if you need a littlebump, if you need a little
extra, I'm here in your cornerto give that to you.
And so I really that's whatseems to come up the most in my
readings is people are they'regoing through it.

(25:52):
Um, you know, maybe not in thesame way that I was, but in
something that seems hard forthem.
And their team comes in toremind them how strong they
really are.
But not only that, how they havethis unseen team of loved ones
and spirit guides that arebehind them and with them every
single day to help them throughwhatever it is, but it's it's

(26:14):
always a reminder of the innerstrength that each of us has.
And so it's really interestingthat regardless of how many
readings I do, that that isalways the theme.

SPEAKER_01 (26:27):
Doesn't that perfectly portray the role your
soul has chosen to play here?
Absolutely perfect.

SPEAKER_00 (26:33):
Yeah, yeah.
And it's I don't know, I alwaysthink it's really ironic because
I think, okay, this reading isgoing to be different.
This reading is going to bedifferent, and and the
underlying theme, you know, thethe circumstances, the
situations, they're they're alla little bit different.
Um, but really it's it's to be,you know, that safe harbor for
people and remind them, like, hey, you are strong, you are

(26:57):
capable.
Um, because ultimately, I Ithink in in this industry, in
the metaphysical industry, Ithink a lot of people um come
looking to be fixed.
They come looking for answers.
And I mean, that's that's what Iwas looking for when I had that
very first Reiki session.
It's like I'm broken, I need tobe fixed.

(27:19):
Um, but that's really not how itis.
It's we as metaphysicalpractitioners are here to remind
our clients that you are whole, you have everything.
It's you might need to lookinside, and maybe you need a
little help seeing that.
Maybe you need someone to shinesome light on your strength for
you, but you have everythingthat you need inside of you.

(27:43):
Um, and so yeah, it's I don'tknow, it's really fun.
It it's it's a nice place to beand to be able to be on mostly
the other side of the hard shitin my life and be able to help
other people.
Knock on wood.
Yeah, yeah.
Um, and yes, yeah, I don't everget too um too sure in those

(28:05):
shoes, right?
Because the second you get cockyand overconfident, that's when
life reminds you that you shouldstay humble.
So it's true.

SPEAKER_01 (28:14):
Um, and I I want to reflect back two things for you.
So, number one, I thinkeverybody, I'm gonna pause after
this one.
Everybody should be choosingpractitioners who have done the
work on themselves, who havehealed themselves so that they
don't walk into their sessionwith your session with bias,
with their own energy and kindof giving that to you.

(28:36):
Fair fair enough.
Yes, yes.
I mean, I think both of us haveprobably experienced that one.
Um, and so number two, I want toadd that as you're talking about
your story and as you're talkingabout your clients, what spirit
is showing me in my head is thatthrough all of your lessons, I'm

(28:58):
gonna I'm gonna use like pokerchips as a as a as a nice
little, maybe maybe they'rehearts instead of circles.
I don't know.
But it feels like every timeyou've gone through and
accomplished something or gonethrough and processed something
and reminded yourself of thesethese inner strengths, you've
gathered all these likeheart-shaped poker chips in your
hand in your energy field.

(29:18):
And when clients are coming toyou, it feels like you're like
giving them back to them.
And you're like, here you go,take this, take this energy,
take this burst of self-trust,um, take this burst of burst of
self-healing and allow yourselfto remind to become the person
that you want to be.
And you don't need my validationor energy to do so, but here you

(29:41):
go.
This is just a reflection, areminder to you of how strong
you are.
And so, like I see youenergetically giving them a
little bit of you in everysingle reading and every single
review session, so that they cando that same self reflection and
allow them to become their bestselves, just like you have.
gone through all the hurdles, all the obstacles, and you

(30:02):
you've still ended up strongerand they could do the same.

SPEAKER_00 (30:05):
Yeah, yeah.
I that resonates so much.
Um because I think, you know, Idon't know, what I feel like is
I've I'm so battle tested whenit comes to trauma, right?
I mean, yes, there are traumasthat I haven't experienced and
I'm so grateful and thankful forthat.
But I I have experienced enoughtrauma that I know what it feels

(30:29):
like.
Right.
You know, I know how hard it andchallenging it can be, but I
definitely have built myself upand I've been resilient enough
that I do have some to spare, right?
And yeah, I think one of thethings that I say in my day job
when we have new people startis, you know, we're only as
strong as our weakest link.
And I think that's true forhumanity too.

(30:51):
And so if every person we comein contact with that is having a
challenge or having a hard dayor you know having a down day,
if we can help to build them upand show them how they can do
that for themselves, thenthey're able to turn around and
pass that on to others and payit forward.

(31:11):
And so um helping others reallyhelps all of us collectively I
feel like and there's the tieinto the Unity code.

SPEAKER_01 (31:22):
Thank you, Sarah.
Like spirits like we're going toget it in there somehow and I'm
like I don't know how there itis.

SPEAKER_00 (31:28):
Yeah yeah well and and it really is right because I
mean we can feel on a day-to-daybasis and Nicole before we
started recording we weretalking a little bit about this
about how the energy recently isis hard and it's the collective
energy is a lot of it.
And even if you try and stayremoved to things that are going

(31:49):
on in the world whether it's inanother country or here in our
own you can still feel theweight and the stress of that
and each of us has anopportunity to impact that right
and and we can choose how weimpact it.
Are we going to positivelyimpact others that we come into

(32:10):
contact with so that they paythat forward or you know maybe
not so positively in a verysimple way is you know you're
driving in traffic and somebodycuts you off and they're
speeding and they're drivinglike an idiot.
Before my daughter had so manymedical emergencies I had
terrible road rage and I wouldget so upset.
But I've driven like an assholea lot of times trying to get to

(32:34):
the hospital and race theambulance that my daughter was
in.
And so I I have a lot of gracefor people because it's I don't
know what they're going through.
And so I'm going to rather thanimpact people in a negative way
and be a jerk and flip them offand say you know what I'm just
going to smile and let you goand you know send you some love
because yeah it just you justnever know.

SPEAKER_01 (32:56):
Absolutely because we don't have to be a victim to
these collective energieseither.
We can be choose differentchoices right and and put
positive energy and lovingenergy out there to help other
people too whether they know itor not because they're still
going to feel it because they'repart of this collective.
Yes.
Yes a thousand percent yes yepand I what's cracking me up in

(33:17):
my mind is it kind of goes bothways too.
So I'm seeing you zoom throughthis traffic in my mind um and
it reminds me of when I was at afestival and I got there early
to get a seat and then some awhole bunch of people stood in
front of me when I had the seatand I was so pissed off Sarah I
was so pissed off.
So in my mind I was setting outthe energy of making people in

(33:39):
front of me really uncomfortableso that they'd move and they
fucking moved.
So so I guess it goes both ways.
I don't know what energy isgoing to come back to me for
that.
But it does it you can impactit.
So play with the energyeverybody play with um sending
out loving loving kind energy ifsomebody pisses you off or if
you're in traffic and someone'sdriving you nuts in front of

(34:01):
you, send in the energy thatthey need to move out of the
lane, right?
They need to move to the sideand see if that like I think
that's what's some so fun andamazing about this work is you
write your reality.
You write the codes of your ownreality.
And so um and I think Sarahyou're such a your story is such
a beautiful story.
You are such a beautiful personthat reflects that you can re

(34:23):
create and write your realityeven given some of the most
traumatic of circumstances andstill come out positive on the
other end.

SPEAKER_00 (34:30):
Yeah I mean and it is it it really is your reality
to an extent is of your choosingright um you know you may not be
able to choose the the eventsthat occur throughout your life
at least consciously right umbecause certainly if I could

(34:52):
have consciously chosen that mydaughter didn't have cancer and
didn't have the seizure disorderI definitely would have made
that choice consciously um but Idid have the ability to choose
what my perspective was aboutit.
What was my outlook?
Did did I want to be a victimand be angry and I mean yes you
you do feel those feelings andgo through that but you get to

(35:13):
choose are you going to staythere or are you going to take
your experience and turn it intosomething positive.
So it and that's um you know I Ithink that's a big piece of what
I've tried to do with Reiki.
A lot of the cancer moms thatare here in the area because you
would not believe how many kidsare diagnosed with cancer every

(35:35):
day.
It's it is insane.
And it is really hard andtraumatic when you go through it
but it's it's such a great thingand it makes me feel so good to
be able to offer Reiki to thecancer moms that are here and
just get them this this littletiny bit of respite and reprieve
um but you know that's me takingthat horrible fellacious journey

(35:58):
that I went through and findingsomething positive that I can do
what's my give back how can Ihelp others because we're all
kind of here to help each other.
I love that so well said and canyou think of an example of a
client or a session that you'vehad with somebody that has been
so impactful for them yeah yeahthere's a particular mom um and

(36:28):
bless this woman she her storyis similar to mine in that her
and her husband they struggledwith infertility for a really
long time finally get pregnantand then their boys they're so
they're pregnant with twinswhich is amazing um and they are
born incredibly prematurethey're micropremies so like on

(36:53):
the border of feasibility reallyand so they've worked so hard
and they've tried for so long toget pregnant they finally get
pregnant but then they have thisreally scary traumatic birth um
and both of her babies arelifelighted to the children's
hospital here in our area andshe doesn't know if they're
going to make it right and shehas to leave the hospital

(37:14):
without her babies um and thenone of her children ends up one
of these two boys ends up havingcerebral palsy and has a lot of
challenges that way the otherkiddo is autistic and then the
one with cerebral palsy and anumber of other significant
challenges he's diagnosed withcancer so I I can't imagine I

(37:40):
well I can't imagine um butshe's going through all of these
things and so I um I reached outto her I'm like hey you're going
through it would you like aReiki session no strings
attached like let me just holdthis space for you um and she
she comes and she has hersession and just throughout the

(38:01):
session just tears streamingright she's able to let go of so
much of that grief and stressand worry that she has been
carrying for years because herkids both are really high acuity
and they take a lot of work forher to keep them alive and happy
and healthy.
And she's able to put that downbut from that she is able to

(38:26):
turn around and she runs a it'sa softball tournament that's
here locally where um they honorcancer kids and so each team in
this softball tournament theyhonor a cancer kid and they
bring joy to these cancer kids.
And so this this sweet mama youknow she has so much going on

(38:47):
right so much stress so muchstruggle and overwhelm just
giving that little bit ofrespite and reprieve helps
people so that they have thatopportunity to turn around and
pay it back to others.
You know it it creates thatmental space for them so that
they're able to go on andcontinue paying it forward.

SPEAKER_01 (39:08):
That's so amazing thank you Sarah and I know that
you get a lot of downloads inyour sessions as well that that
you can share with clients tooso how I know after hearing your
story hearing the lovely youknow free impact that you've
helped with this local mom howcan people get in touch with
you?
How can people work with you?
Because I know I know peoplewho've gotten sessions from you

(39:29):
and I know how magical they areso please tell everybody how
they can get get in touch withyou.

SPEAKER_00 (39:33):
Yes yes so um I'm on Instagram grounded harmony
wellness uh and my website isgrounded harmonywellness.com and
both of those places have linksto my booking page um I offer
mediumship sessions I offerremote Reiki sessions and and
that's the amazing thing aboutReiki is it can be done
remotely.

(39:54):
So people across the nation fromme I'm in Utah and I do offer
sessions locally but across thenation that's something that
we're able to do as well.
And so yeah Instagram or mywebsite are great places to get
in touch.

SPEAKER_01 (40:07):
Amazing and is there anything that we haven't covered
today so far that you wanted tomake sure we're sharing for you
for the listeners or no I wantto put the open-ended thing out
there.

SPEAKER_00 (40:21):
Yeah I think the biggest thing that I want to
make sure everybody um takesaway I'm hoping everybody takes
away from this is you knowlooking inward and taking time
to sit with yourself really willhelp everyone to uncover the
inner strength that they haveand the power that they have to
influence their own lives.

(40:42):
And so if nothing else takingsome time and really taking a
look at how you choose to viewyour life it's such an
empowering thing such anempowering exercise and I just
hope everybody has anopportunity to benefit from
that.

SPEAKER_01 (40:58):
That's so gorgeous.
