SPEAKER_00 (00:04):
Hey sis, welcome to the Unmuted CEO podcast.
I'm Tammy Maynard.
And real talk, I've recordedthis intro like four times
already because I wanted it tobe perfect.
I wanted it to sound polishedand professional.
And like I had it all together.
And then I stopped myself andthought, that's literally the

(00:24):
opposite of what this podcast isall about.
So here's the real version.
I'm sitting here in my office.
I got my coffee that's probablycold by now.
I can hear my kids in thebackground.
And I'm about to have the mosthonest conversation with you
about what it really takes tobuild a business while being a
mom, while feeling invisible, while wondering if you're ever
going to be ready enough to showup online.

(00:46):
Spoiler alert, sis, you alreadyare.
Okay, so let me officiallyintroduce myself.
The name is Tammy Maynard.
I'm a Gemini, I'm from CentralGeorgia, I'm a wife, and I'm a
mom of six.
Yes, six children, includingtwin boys.
And I say that not to brag ormake you feel overwhelmed, but
to let you know that if I canfigure out how to build a

(01:08):
business, create content, showup online consistently, and grow
my confidence while raising thiscrew, you absolutely can too.
But let me back up, because mystory doesn't start with six
kids and having a thrivingbusiness.
It actually starts with a littleblack girl who was bullied so
badly that she spent years,we're talking about decades,

(01:29):
sis, questioning her worth.
I grew up being told I wasn'tgood enough, that I was too much
or not enough, depending on thatday.
And that messaging, it stuckwith me for a long time.
Even as an adult, even as Istarted building businesses,
even as I became a mother, Icarried this belief that I
needed to stay small, stayquiet, don't take up too much

(01:51):
space.
And for years, that's exactlywhat I did.
I built businesses in theshadows.
I had ideas but didn't sharethem.
I wanted to post on social mediaso bad, but would literally
stare at the screen for about 30minutes to an hour, overthinking
every single word.
I would record videos and thendelete them before anyone could
see them.

(02:12):
Does any of this sound familiarto you?
The turnaround for me came whenI realized that my silence
wasn't protecting me.
It was suffocating me.
And more than that, it waskeeping me broke, girl.
But serious.
Like, let's be real about this.
You can't build a profitablebusiness if nobody knows you
exist.
So I made a decision.
I decided that I was going toheal.
I was gonna show up.

(02:32):
And I was gonna help other womendo the same.
Because sis, I know I'm not theonly one who's been building in
silence.
So that's why this podcast isthis.
The Unmuted CEO podcast is forwomen who has been building her
business quietly.
Maybe you've been working on itfor months or even years.
Maybe you have a business that'smaking a little bit of money.
You know, it could be so muchmore if you just showed up.

(02:55):
Or maybe you're a mom who'sjuggling a full-time or
part-time job.
Kids, a household, a spouse whodoesn't fully get what you're
trying to build, and you'rewondering how the heck you're
supposed to fit becoming visibleonline into all of that.
This podcast is for you.
And here's what it's not.
This is not a podcast where I'mgoing to tell you to wake up at

(03:16):
5 a.m.
and hustle harder.
This is not a podcast where I'mgoing to show you some perfectly
curated version ofentrepreneurship where
everything is smooth andaesthetic and easy.
Since if you follow me on socialmedia, you already know.
My content gets interrupted bymy kids, even the dog girl.
My Zoom calls have toys in thebackground.

(03:37):
I have recorded reels whilehiding in my closet because it
was the only quiet space in thehouse.
This podcast is about the realjourney of building a business
as a mom.
The messy middle, theself-doubt, the imposter
syndrome, the days where youquestion if this is even worth
it.
But also the breakthroughs, thewins, the moment you finally hit

(03:59):
go live and realize you didn'tdie.
The first time someone buys fromyou, the realization that you're
actually doing this, girl, that's what we're talking about
here.
So let me tell you how I wentfrom that woman who was too
scared to post a simpleInstagram story to the woman who
now coaches other women onvisibility and confidence.
It wasn't overnight.
I want to be really clear aboutthat.

(04:20):
This wasn't some I woke up oneday and decided to be confident
situation.
This was years of intentionalhealing, journaling, faith,
therapy, facing my fears, andtaking action even when I was
terrified.
One of the biggest shifts for mewas realizing that confidence
doesn't come before action.
Confidence comes because ofaction.

(04:41):
Think about it.
When have you ever feltconfident about something you
never done before?
You don't.
You feel nervous, you feelunsure, you feel like an
imposter, but then you do itanyway.
And then you do it again andagain.
And eventually you look up andrealize I actually know what I'm
doing now.
That's how I built my business.
That's how I learned to go liveon social media.

(05:03):
That's how I started thispodcast.
I didn't wait until I feltready.
I just started.
And here's the thing that nobodytells you.
Even now, after coaching severalwomen, after building multiple
income streams, after showing upconsistently for years, I still
have moments of doubt.
I still have days where I wonderif anyone cares about what I

(05:24):
have to say.
But the difference now is that Idon't let that stop me.
I feel the fear and I postanyway.
I feel the imposter syndrome andI show up anyway.
Because I know that on the otherside of my visibility is a woman
who needs to hear exactly what Ihave to say.
And sis, the same is true foryou.
Let's talk about the elephant inthe room trying to build a

(05:45):
business while being a mom.
Okay, girl, we finna get there.
Because I think there's thisnarrative online that you have
to have it all and balance itall and make it look easy.
And I'm here to tell you, that'sa lie.
You can't do everythingperfectly all at the same time.
You just can't.
Some days my business gets mybest, and some days my kids get
my best.

(06:05):
Some days nobody gets my bestbecause I'm just trying to
survive, and that's okay.
The goal is not balance.
The goal is integration.
The goal is building a businessthat works with your life, not
against it.
For me, that looks like batchcreating content during nap time
or after the kids go to bed.
It looks like having my kidsoccasionally pop into my videos

(06:27):
because that's real life.
It looks like being honest withmy audience when I need to take
a break, because life is life.
And you know what?
My sisterhood respects that.
They connect with that becausethey're living it too.
Here's what I want you tounderstand.
Your kids are not a barrier toyour business.
Your responsibilities as amother are not holding you back.
The reason you're not where youwant to be yet isn't because you

(06:50):
don't have enough time orbecause you're too busy.
The reason is because youhaven't given yourself
permission to be visible yet.
And I get it, I really do.
Because when you're a mom, there's this guilt that comes
with prioritizing yourself oryour business.
There's this voice that says youshouldn't be spending this time
with your kids.
Or you shouldn't be focusing onyour family.

(07:11):
But here's the real talk, sis.
When you build a successfulbusiness, you're not taking away
from your family.
You're adding to it.
You're showing your kids what'spossible.
You're creating financialsecurity.
You're modeling what it lookslike to go after your dreams.
Your business is not selfish.
Your ambition is not selfish.
Your desire to be seen and tomake an impact and to make

(07:33):
money, that's not selfisheither.
Okay, so let me tell you whatyou can expect from the Unmuted
CEO podcast.
First, every episode is going tobe a mix of solo episodes.
Just me talking to you, likewe're having coffee together.
And also interviews with otherincredible women who are doing
the damn thing.
Women who have overcome theirvisibility fears, who have built

(07:54):
successful businesses, who havefigured out how to balance
motherhood and entrepreneurship.
Some episodes are going to besuper tactical.
Like, here's exactly how to batscreate a month of content in two
hours.
Or here's my system for goinglive on social media without
overthinking it.
Other episodes are going to bemore mindset focused.

(08:14):
Because, sis, I can give you allthe strategies in the world, but
if you don't believe you'reworthy of being seen, none of it
matters.
We're going to talk aboutimposter syndrome.
We're going to talk about momguilt.
We're going to talk aboutbuilding confidence when you
feel like you have no idea whatyou're doing.
We're going to talk about thereal, messy, behind the scenes
of entrepreneurship.

(08:35):
And I'm also going to share myown journey.
The wins and the losses.
The things that worked and thethings that flopped.
Because I think one of thebiggest disservices we do as
business coaches is only showingthe highlight reel.
You need to know that I'velaunched offers that nobody
bought.
I've posted content that gotzero engagement.

(08:55):
I've had weeks where I made nomoney.
I've cried in my car, wonderingif I should just give up or get
a regular job.
But I didn't.
And I'm so glad I didn't.
Because on the other side ofthat struggle is the business I
have today.
Is the sisterhood I've built.
It's the women I get to impact.
And that's what I want for you.
Here's my vision for you, sis.

(09:16):
My vision is that you listen tothis podcast, you implement what
you learn, and six months fromnow, you look back and you don't
even recognize the woman youused to be.
I want you to go from hidingbehind your business to being
the face of your business.
I want you to go from secondguessing every post to showing
up with confidence andconsistency.

(09:37):
I want you to go from making alittle bit of money here and
there to building actualsustainable income streams.
But more than that, I want youto feel free, free from the
weight of other people'sopinion, free from the fear of
judgment, free from the beliefsthat you're not good enough or
ready enough or qualifiedenough.
Because you are.
You absolutely are.

(09:58):
And I'm not just talking aboutfreedom for you.
I'm talking about generationalfreedom.
When you step into your power asan entrepreneur, you change the
trajectory of your entirefamily.
Your kids watch you buildsomething from nothing.
They watch you overcome fear.
They watch you make money doingsomething you love.
That's the legacy we're buildinghere.
And you're not doing it alone.

(10:20):
That's the other piece of this.
I've built this incrediblesisterhood of women.
Women who are on the samejourney.
Women who get it.
Women who will cheer you on whenyou finally hit post.
Who will celebrate your winswith you?
Who will remind you of who youare when you forget.
That's what we're building.
