Listen in as Ed Hennings interviews Brandon Whitehead about using an ELD, the hard lessons of trucking, and loading properly to get the most money.
The owner of Jules Express, Brandon Whitehead, decided to start using an electronic logging device (ELD) in his trucks to limit extra costs just in case of an accident, and the safety of his drivers. This monthly service helps protect against those who may cause accidents just to get paid. Being overly hungry about his hustle, Brandon has made plenty of mistakes. From his logs not being right to not passing an inspection, the hefty fines and limited access to loans are not worth it. Make sure to dot your I’s and cross your T’s because it will help you in the long run. Brandon also discusses proper load planning and allocating the correct trucks pending load and age of the truck. When planning routes, he considers his drivers and makes sure they get back to be with their families. All his planning and attention to detail bring efficiency which produces more money.
