The agents entered the burrows to find a city beneath a city with an entire society functioning with good people and a sense of community, even though they were clearly suffering. Morgan discovered a vent system and entered it to access the void shield generators that were being used to block off areas that had been purged and prevent escape in the upcoming purge. At the shield generator, Damien recalled a phrase that had been used by the Flayed Man regarding Talos Ivo, and suggested it might be the password to the generator. The fact that it worked suggested that Talos Ivo and the events on Arcturus IV were connected to the situation in the Hawkstar system. They lowered the shield power just enough to pass through with some difficulty without setting off alerts that the shield had been altered, and made their way back to the main thoroughfare. They ordered everyone to evacuate, but as everyone started running, a massive booming wave rushed towards them, taking out the lights in the tunnels. They heard hundreds—maybe thousands—of voices screaming and growing in volume in the dark.
