Two of my favorite things in the world—De La Soul and God’s Word—came together today with the same exact message: check your ego.
The song Ego Trippin by De La Soul might not make perfect lyrical sense, but it hits in the soul. Why? Because their music always carried this deeper truth: stop trying to be something you’re not, and just own your style. That same theme runs straight through Proverbs 27, which shows us step by step how to keep our ego in check and live with humility, gratitude, and wisdom.
