(00:37):
Hello everyone, welcome back to the Victim's Voice.
I'm your host, Lorelai. This week's heartbreaking case
involves the abuse and death of a little girl who was tortured
and killed by someone she shouldhave been able to trust.
This case is out of Hanover Township.
OH, and it's the case of Hannah Wesh.
Hannah Wesh hadn't had the easiest life in her short three
(01:00):
years, but what she did have wasa dad who loved her more than
anything. Hannah was born on January 11th
of 2015 in Louisville, KY. Born to a mother who struggled
with heroin addiction, Hannah herself was born addicted and
spent 92 days in the NICU. Jason Wesh, Hannah's father,
(01:21):
drove to the hospital several times a week to see his daughter
to hold her and comfort her as she went through terrible
withdrawals from the drugs. At three months old, Hannah
finally was released to go home.Jason stepped up and took full
custody of his little girl whileHannah's mom, Adrian went to
rehab. At first Jason took Hannah to
see her mom, but then things forJason started falling apart.
(01:45):
He lost his job and eventually lost his home.
So for nearly two years he and Hannah were homeless.
Jason did everything he could tostill make sure his daughter had
daughter had what she needed. He even slept in his car outside
his brother's house while Hannahslept inside comfortably in a
bed. Then Jason's luck started to
(02:05):
change. One of his buddies introduced
him to a guy named TJ Smith. TJ's dad owned a construction
business and they needed a mechanic right away.
So Jason, who had experience as a mechanic in the past, was
offered the job. The job required Jason to work
12 hour days and it was hard to find someone to watch Hannah for
those long hours. One day he was talking about his
(02:27):
babysitter struggles with TJ. That's when TJ mentioned his
long time girlfriend Lindsay Parton.
She was a stay at home mom for their two girls and she also
watched a friend's daughter. He was sure she wouldn't mind
adding one more child to the mix.
So Lindsay agreed to watch Hannah on a temporary basis for
Jason until he figured out something permanent and she only
(02:48):
charged Jason $30 a day. Lindsay was great with Hannah
and the other kids. She would take them to the park,
the zoo, and since she had Hannah until sometime six or
seven in the evening, she would take her to dance practice.
She worked with her, helping herto learn her AB CS numbers and
shapes. She would bathe, wash her
clothes and feed her dinner so that Jason didn't have to when
(03:10):
he got home late in the evening. All in all, Lindsay was like a
mother to little Hannah and Jason went to work feeling at
ease that his little girl was taken care of.
Then Jason hit another stroke ofluck.
A house next to TJ and Lindsay'scame on the market and it was
the perfect house for Jason and Hannah.
So Jason put in an offer and he got it.
(03:31):
He and Hannah finally had their home home and he had a decent
job. Lindsay had also decided to
watch Hannah permanently so she had someone to take care of her
that Jason could trust and that was close by.
Things were looking up, at leastfor a while, but soon everything
would come crashing down in a matter of one minute and 27
(03:53):
seconds. Hannah was a normal 3 year old
and we get bumps and bruises from playing.
But at the beginning of March of2018 Jason noticed that Hannah
was having a lot of quote UN quote accidents at Lindsay's
causing bruising in some strangeplaces.
On March 6th Hannah had fallen on some gravel.
(04:15):
On March 7th, she had been standing on a ride on to a train
and fell and hit the garage floor.
During that week, Jason noticed bruising on Hannah's chest,
face, chin and under her eyes. He decided that he needed to
talk to Lindsay about what was going on at her house.
Jason, who had never seen Lindsay be mean or even yell at
(04:38):
any of the kids, never imagined that anything nefarious was
going on. From what he observed, Lindsay
was a good mom and she was always loving to Hannah, so he
believed her when she said that Hannah was just a rambunctious
and wild toddler when the other kids were around who loved to
climb on stuff and be mischievous.
(05:00):
On March 8th, the day started like any other.
Jason and Hannah woke up early to get ready for the day.
Hannah ate a bowl of cereal, brushed her teeth, and then got
dressed. She loved to be independent and
pick out her own clothes, which she did.
That morning, everything was as normal as could be.
That morning was very cold, so besides putting Hannah's coat on
(05:21):
her, Jason also wrapped her up in a blanket and carried her to
the car. At 6:52 AM, he sent a text to
Lindsay telling her that they were on their way at 653.
Lindsay responded with an OK. That morning, Jason said Hannah
did act unusual in the car on the drive to Lindsay's.
(05:42):
Even though they lived next door, this was a very rural area
and the houses were far apart. Lindsay's house was about 300
feet from Jason's. I will post a view from Google
Maps on the Victim's Voice Facebook page to give you an
idea of the distance of everything.
Anyway, usually Hannah sat on Jason's lap on the drive to
Lindsay's house, but that morning she climbed into the
(06:03):
back seat and laid down. When they got to Lindsay's,
Jason picked Hannah up, blanket and all, and carried her into
the garage where Lindsay was waiting.
Her garage was heated and had been turned into a play room for
the kids. It also had a couch with the TV
for the kids to sit down and watch their cartoons in the
mornings. That morning Hannah was clingy.
(06:25):
She didn't want her daddy to leave her.
She kept asking for more hugs and double kisses.
After going back over and over, Jason finally had to walk away
from his little girl and go to work.
Jason's work truck was parked ata pole barn at the end of Shank
Rd. that was owned by his employer.
When he got there, he got out ofhis personal vehicle and turned
(06:47):
on his work truck to warm it up.He then went back to get his
phone and personal stuff from his vehicle.
That's when he noticed he had missed a call from Lindsay.
Her call had come in at 7:00 AM and Jason called her back less
than a minute later. Lindsay proceeded to tell Jason
that there was something wrong with Hannah.
Jason didn't ask her anything else.
(07:07):
At that point, he jumped in his car and flew back to his baby
girl. When Jason got to the house, he
ran inside to find Hannah layingon the floor, gasping for air,
her eyes open but not focusing on anything.
Lindsay told Jason that she didn't know what had happened.
She said she was taking off Hannah's coat and she suddenly
(07:28):
passed out. At 7:02 AM, Lindsay called 911
and she sounded panic when she told him that Hannah had
collapsed and was not breathing right.
You could hear Jason in the background comforting Hannah.
He wasn't sure what was going onwith her.
He thought maybe she was having a seizure.
The last thing that ever crossedhis mind was that someone was
(07:49):
intentionally hurting his daughter.
In the call, you could hear little Hannah gasping for air.
It's heartbreaking. Then you hear Lindsay talking to
Hannah, telling her that she loves her and calling her
Buttercup. Lindsay also made sure to tell
the dispatcher that on the day before Hannah had been standing
on that ride on toy train and fell off causing her to hit her
(08:11):
head on the concrete floor, but had been normal afterwards and
also that morning. EM TS arrived at 4050 Shank Rd.
within 13 minutes of getting thecall.
They went over to the couch where Jason had placed Hannah
and accessed the situation. Just by looking at her they
noticed that her breathing was very shallow and her eyes were
(08:32):
moving her without purpose. She also had bruising on her
chest and eyes and her eyes weresunk in.
They got her ready for transportso they could take her to Fort
Hamilton Hospital. Lindsay made sure to tell the EM
TS about the accident with the train the day before.
When Deputy Damon Meyer got there she told him the same
(08:52):
story. She said when Hannah came in
that she was fine. She had even asked to sit on the
couch in the garage and eat a doughnut.
While Lindsay was trying to helpHannah get her coat off, that's
when she passed out. She fell face down on the carpet
between the garage and the kitchen.
Something was not adding up and Deputy Meyer had a feeling that
(09:12):
there was more to the story. So we cleared the house and
called detectives. Meanwhile, Hannah had been
rushed to the hospital and was being seen by an ER doctor named
Doctor Nucheng. At this point she was
unresponsive and unable to breathe on her own, so she was
intubated and put on a ventilator.
Her whole body was covered in bruises, her peoples were not
(09:33):
reacting, she was toxic and there was blood behind her eyes.
They ordered the CT scan of her head, neck and face and
transported her by air to Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
There she was under the care of Marguerite Curie, the staff
neuroradiologist. Doctor Cree looked over the CT
scan and noted that Hannah had asubdural image hemorrhage
(09:57):
causing the midline of her brainto shift to the left side of her
skull, which would cause brain injuries and abnormalities.
She noted that this was not consistent with everyday
accidents, but was consistent with abusive head trauma.
What happened to little Hannah and who did this to her?
(10:19):
Doctor Curry stated that it specifically looked like in
Hannah's case that she had been shaken.
She also said that children withthese injuries wouldn't be able
to walk or talk on their own andthese symptoms would have
started within seconds of this happening.
But Lindsay said she was fine and was walking and talking when
she got there. It was said that because of the
(10:41):
severity of Hannah's injuries, they could have only happened
one of two ways, either by a carcrash or by abuse.
Doctor Yang, an ophthalmologist at Children's Hospital, examined
Hannah's eyes. He said that there was extensive
hemorrhaging throughout all three layers of her eye and that
(11:01):
this was most likely the result of abusive head trauma.
A neurosurgeon was brought in for the emergency surgery to
drain the hemorrhage. This required them to remove a
section of Hannah's skull, however her brain was so
inflamed that it started to swell through the area that was
removed. Hannah was then placed in the
(11:24):
care of Doctor Cheema, but she never regained consciousness.
Her condition continued to deteriorate and the doctors
feared she was progressing towards being brain dead.
On March 18th, 2018, ten days after this nightmare began,
little Hannah W, who loved spending time with her older
(11:45):
sisters, who loved playing videogames with her dad, who loved
hot dogs, Minnie Mouse and peekaboo, was taken off of life
support and pronounced dead. Forensic pathologist Dorothy
Dean performed the autopsy on Hannah and what she found was
sickening. Hannah's body and head was full
of bruising. It was on her back, right side
(12:07):
of her head, sides of her body, and in the deep muscle tissue of
her neck. She also found shearing of her
brain, which happens when the long connecting fibers of the
brain are torn, which causes thebrain to shift and rotate inside
of the skull. Doctor Dean believes that
Hannah's death was caused by a traumatic brain injury caused by
(12:27):
a blunt tremendous force. This is different than when we
say someone is killed by blunt force trauma.
This can be seen in shaking and the skull would hit the brain
making it the blunt instrument. She agreed with Doctor Curry
that Hannah would not have been able to walk or talk and would
have been abnormal and unresponsive.
(12:49):
Within moments of the trauma happening, there was some
bruising on Hannah's body that was consistent with normal
childhood activity. However, the bruising inside of
her knees, her shoulders, arms and buttocks, which also had
lacerations, her back and sides, these were not consistent with
normal childhood activity. They were also in different
(13:11):
stages of healing, which means that they were all sustained
over a few days, not at one time.
There were bruises under Hannah's hair that weren't
superficial, and there was more bruising deep under her scalp.
Hannah had blunt impact to the back and side of her head,
bruises deep in her neck and hemorrhages in her brain.
(13:32):
The doctors all agreed that evena fall from a second story
window wouldn't cause all this damage.
The investigation began into Hannah's death.
Detectives were determined to find out what happened to the
little girl and there were only two people who could be
responsible, Jason or Lindsay. Lindsay had said though that
(13:54):
Hannah was fine when she got there and was walking and
talking, and as we know, she wouldn't have been if her
injuries had happened while she was in Jason's care.
So they had two interviews with Lindsay, one on March 8th, the
day the incident happened and onMarch 9th.
When Lindsay arrived on March 8th, she was read her rights and
(14:16):
asked if she understood them, which she said she did.
They started out the interview by asking Lindsay questions that
would help them get to know her and Hannah's relationship.
Lindsay told the investigators that she had been babysitting
Hannah for approximately 8 months and that she loved Hannah
like she was her own. She told them how close she and
Hannah were and how they called each other buddy just the night
(14:38):
before. Hannah had told Lindsay that she
loved her and that she took suchgood care of her.
The investigators were done withsmall talk and started getting
down to business with Lindsay. They asked her about a bruise on
Hannah's chin. Lindsay said it happened on the
6th. Hannah was wearing cowboy boots
with heels and was chasing Lindsay's daughter outside when
(14:59):
she fell in the gravel. She then got up and demonstrated
how Hannah ran, turned and looked over her shoulder, then
fell forward and landed on her face.
According to Lindsay, when Hannah fell forward, she put her
arms back instead of out to catch herself.
She told them that was also how she got the bruises on her
(15:21):
chest. You know, the gravel poked her
through her jacket enough to leave bruises on her chest.
I don't know if she thinks theseinvestigators were born
yesterday, but they weren't, andthey sure weren't buying her
story. She then told the investigators
that on the 7th, Hannah, who Lindsay claimed to be clumsy
(15:41):
already, was standing on the seat of a ride on toy and was
pretending she was surfing. She then fell off the train and
hit her head on the concrete floor.
Lindsay said the bruise on her head must have happened during
that incident. Lindsay also stood up again and
demonstrated Hannah's surfing motion and her falling off the
train, once again suggesting that Hannah put her arms back
(16:05):
instead of forward to try to catch herself.
Even though putting your hands out to catch yourself is a
natural reaction, I will post parts of the interrogation on
the Victim's Voice Facebook pageso everyone can see how
ridiculous Lindsay looked as shewas playing charades with the
the detectives. Lindsay then goes on to tell the
(16:27):
story about what happened that morning.
She told the investigators that Jason carried Hannah wrapped in
a blanket. He put her down as she was
standing there. They kissed and hugged goodby
and then Lindsay asked her if she was tired or if she wanted
to stay up. Hannah said she wanted to stay
up and they both walked in. Hannah was in front and Lindsay
set her phone down on a chair totake off her robe when Hannah
(16:51):
looked at her and asked her if she could sit on the couch and
eat a doughnut. Then as she started taking off
her jacket, she crumbled to the ground.
Jason had only been gone for 30 seconds to a minute when Hannah
collapsed. She hadn't even gotten all the
way into the door yet. Because they wanted to make sure
Lindsay understood her rights, they read them to her again.
(17:15):
She said she understood them completely and that she had no
problem talking to them because she had done nothing wrong.
The detectors told Lindsay that Hannah was not doing good and
whatever happened to her happened that morning.
It didn't happen 24 hours beforeor even an hour before she
collapsed. It happened instantly.
(17:37):
Lindsay, who is trying to be convincing, said that she swore
to God she was telling the truth, then doubled up and said
she swore on her kids. But the investigators told
Lindsay that there was no way that Hannah walked or talked
after suffering from the brain injury that she had.
Lindsay then said she walked right into my house.
(17:59):
I'm not lying because telling the cops you're not lying will
automatically make them believe you.
Lindsay then told the investigators that she would
never hurt a child and that she didn't even spank hers.
And this, they would later find out, seemed to be the truth.
Investigators talked to two mothers who used to have Lindsay
watch their young children and they had nothing bad to say
(18:22):
about her, never saw any bruiseson their kids, and never
suspected anything nefarious going on.
So if that's true, then what didLindsay have against little
Hannah? The investigators told Lindsay
that they knew she wasn't being honest and if it wasn't her,
then who? She told them she didn't know
(18:42):
and that nothing had happened ather house.
They asked her what she and Jason had talked about that
morning and she said she had mentioned that it was snowing
again and said that Hannah's bruise was looking better.
Then she voluntarily told the investigators that she had
googled how to make a bruise look better.
(19:03):
Not feel better, but look better.
Was she trying to cover her tracks because she knew they
were going to go through her phone and her Google searches.
The investigators then tell Lindsay that this is serious
because it doesn't look like Hannah is going to make it.
She lets out a little cry and puts her head down for a minute
(19:24):
trying to act like she gave a shit.
A different detective came in and he was not going to take any
bullshit from Lindsay. He told her that Hannah had a
swollen bruise on the back of her head and that the bruises
she had all over her made the doctors nauseous.
He then proceeded to tell her that they had just pulled the
plug on Hannah and that she was dead, even though at that time
(19:48):
she was still in critical condition.
Lindsay put her head down once again pretending to be upset.
The new detective told Lindsay there was no way that Hannah was
walking or talking after the injury.
Then he started asking her aboutTJ, her husband, not husband,
which it was revealed in court that the reason they never filed
(20:09):
the marriage license was so thatLindsay could continue to get
government benefits. He asked Lindsay if TJ had ever
hit the kids. She said no and that he was
rarely around. They then asked Lindsay to take
a guess at what she thought happened to Hannah and her
answer was bone chilling. She said I'm sure she did
something bad and she got in trouble.
(20:30):
She's a little mischievous. What does that even mean?
Why would she say that? And what does she think Hannah
could have done to deserve what was done to her?
They asked her about Jason againand whether he had a temper.
They most likely wanted Lindsay to believe that she wasn't their
main suspect so she would keep talking.
(20:50):
She told authorities that yes, Jason had a temper, but she had
never seen him lose his temper on Hannah, only on the guys he
worked with. When Lindsay was asked if Hannah
had come to her house with bruises on her in the past, she
told him yes, but they told her that Jason said that Hannah
would get hurt a lot at Lindsay's house and come home
with bruises from there. Lindsay said that wasn't true.
(21:14):
Then Lindsay decided she was going to put the focus on Jason.
She told the detectives that shehad never been inside Jason's
house and that she didn't know what went on inside of there.
All she knew was that Jason was gone a lot and she took care of
Hannah all the time. She said that the little girl
would come over with dirty clothes and Lindsay would wash
them. She would come over and she
(21:36):
would be dirty so Lindsay would give her a bath, blah blah blah.
Lindsay kept talking and trying to make Jason look bad.
The investigator finally told her that one of two things
happened. Either she killed Hannah or
Jason did. Lindsay had the audacity to kind
of chuckle, give a little smirk and say I didn't.
(21:59):
What in the actual fuck is wrongwith this lady?
They then asked Lindsay if she would take a polygraph, and her
reaction to this question was another strange one to say the
least. She said why would you want me
to do that? That's weird.
What does she mean? Why do they want her to do that?
They want to know if you're lying.
(22:20):
That's why it's sometimes calleda lie detector test.
First she told him no because she was nervous, to which the
investigator told her it takes all of that into consideration.
Then he asked her if she would pass or fail and at first
Lindsay said I don't know, but then changed her answer and said
she would pass because she was telling the truth but told the
(22:43):
investigators she didn't want todo it without a lawyer because
he had made her nervous and thatshe had never been in this
situation before and she didn't know what to do.
The investigator didn't push herabout the polygraph anymore.
She had mentioned a lawyer and they didn't want to take the
chance that she would ask for one and then they wouldn't be
(23:03):
able to talk to her anymore. Lindsay then gave the
investigators permission to dumpher phone so they could put
together the quote UN quote timeline and then she said she
wanted to go. With nothing concrete to charge
her with, they had no option butto let her leave.
She couldn't go right away though because TJ was being
questioned in another room. He didn't really have any useful
(23:27):
information to give since he wasn't home at the time of the
incident with Hannah. They did ask him about Hannah's
demeanor and what he had to say was quite different than what
they had heard from Lindsay. Lindsay had said multiple times
that Hannah was mischievous and rambunctious, even insinuating
(23:48):
it's because she lived with her dad.
TJ, however, said that Hannah was very quiet and very
introverted. She often didn't play with the
other kids and would go step by herself in a corner.
TJ said that they used to think that there was something wrong
with her by the way she acted. When he was asked if Lindsay had
been stressed out lately, he informed them that she had just
(24:10):
had a miscarriage a couple of weeks before, so yes, she was
under some stress. After the interview ended, TJ
asked Lindsay if she wanted to go to the hospital to see
Hannah. This is when Lindsay learned
that the detectives lied to her about Hannah having passed away.
But even after they lied to her,Lindsay was still willing to
(24:34):
talk to detectives again the next day.
They showed up at her house at 9:00 AM and told her they needed
her to come down to the station right away to ask her a few more
questions. Lindsay said she couldn't at
that moment because she didn't have anyone to watch her kids
until later that afternoon. The detectives told her they
needed her right then. It couldn't wait.
(24:57):
A few minutes later, Lindsay hadloaded her two daughters into
her vehicle and was headed to the police station.
When they arrived, Lindsay was put into an interrogation room
and her daughters were taken somewhere else where they could
be entertained and supervised. In order to clear Lindsay from
any involvement in Hannah's injuries, they needed an
(25:17):
explanation for every bruise shehad at the time that she was
admitted into the hospital. During this interview, Lindsay's
story would change many times. The first change in Lindsay's
story happened when they asked her about the bruise on Hannah's
head, to which Lindsay said it happened when she fell off the
toy train that she was supposedly standing on and
(25:39):
surfing. Lindsay is adamant that she fell
on her right side and hit the right side of her head when
falling off the train, while shehit the right side of her head
downward onto her hand, making herself look like an idiot, like
she was trying to show how Hannah hit her head.
So the detectives tell her that if that's the case, then there
(26:00):
is no way this was where the bruise came from because the
bruise they were talking about was on the left side of her
head. All of a sudden, Lindsay
remembers that it was actually the left side of her head that
Hannah had hit and that she was quote UN quote just bad with her
left and right and with mirroring.
(26:21):
The next thing they talk about are the bruises on Hannah's
chin. The investigator said there was
no way it happened from falling on the gravel because the
bruising wasn't on the point of her chin and that the sharp
points of the body is where you would see bruising when it
happens from falling or normal kid accidents.
Hannah's bruising was underneathher chin, which couldn't have
(26:44):
happened from falling because the body naturally protects the
neck area. Then they talked about talk to
her about the chest bruising that supposedly also came from
falling in the gravel. They informed Lindsay that all
the bruises on her chest were indifferent stages of healing so
there was no way they all happened at once.
(27:06):
They then told Lindsay once again that Hannah's brain injury
was instant, that it happened right before she collapsed so it
had to happen at her house. Here is where we come to the
second change in Lindsay's story.
She saw she was getting nowhere by denying everything and saying
that she knew nothing. So Lindsay sighed like a little
(27:28):
kid who had been caught doing something wrong and was finally
going to admit to what she did. She said that Hannah had been
walking in the door and slipped on her blanket.
She then fell and hit her head on the concrete step and on the
metal part. But then she goes on to say that
Hannah did stand up after that. Said couch and Doughnut.
(27:51):
And then she collapsed. The investigators weren't going
to entertain this bullshit storyfor even a minute.
And they told Lindsay that that was not what happened, that
there was no way that Hannah walked or talked after the
injury. She would have been out and that
she didn't hit her head by falling 12 inches and having
(28:12):
that kind of injury. So we come to the third change
in the story. Lindsay was going to keep
throwing shit at the wall until something stuck.
This time Lindsay said Hannah actually had asked to sit on the
couch and eat a doughnut as Jason was walking away before
the incident. Then Lindsay was holding Hannah
(28:34):
as they walked in the door and Lindsay slipped on the blanket,
causing her to drop Hannah and then fall herself.
Hannah smacked her head on the step.
They then go back to the bruisesunder Hannah's chin.
The detectives told Lindsay thatthey knew the bruises didn't
happen from the gravel because they are all in different stages
(28:54):
of healing, but they all look identical in size and shape.
Lindsay had the audacity to say why do you think I know?
And the detective said because you just lied to us.
They tell Lindsay that when Jason asked Hannah how she had
gotten the bruises that she had said babysitter.
They then asked Lindsay about a specific bruise on Hannah's head
(29:16):
and this is when Lindsay's storychanged again for the 4th time
and what she said was horrific. She blurted out.
I slapped her upside the head. The investigators asked her with
what and she set her hand. When they asked her why she
would do that, she said it was because Hannah had taken a
bottle of ketchup and it squirted all of it in the
(29:37):
toilet. Lindsay actually had the
audacity to say that she didn't think it would hurt her.
This opened the floodgates and Lindsay started admitting to
more of Hannah's bruising. They asked Lindsay about the
chin bruises and once again she said she smacked Hannah on the
chin for pouring the ketchup in the toilet.
The detectives told her that there was no way she would have
(29:58):
a deep bone contusion from an open hand smack.
Which brings us to the story change #5 Lindsay then admitted
that she hit Hannah in the chin with an uppercut martial arts
style closed fist. So because this baby allegedly
poured ketchup in the toilet. Which I don't believe for a
(30:19):
second because it seems that Lindsay is trying to validate
her abuse against Hannah by saying she's mischievous and
rambunctious. To which her own husband has
said that wasn't true. That she would cower down in the
corner away from people when shewas at their house to the point
that TJ thought there was something wrong with her.
But no, there was nothing wrong with Hannah.
(30:39):
According to other family members, Hannah didn't act that
way unless she was at Lindsay's house.
She was scared to play or talk or act like a kid while she was
there because she knew what would happen.
There was nothing wrong with Hannah TJ, but there is
something wrong with your wife. Lindsay then told the detectives
(30:59):
that Jason was OK with her discipline Hannah that he had
given her permission, although Iam sure this is not the type of
discipline he met. The detectors then went back to
the chest bruises. Lindsay had started confessing
to the others so they were goingto keep going, but Lindsay was
adamant that she had nothing to do with those bruises.
(31:20):
She swore she never touched Hannah's chest, though she did
admit she was mad the day before.
They then started talking about her personal life.
Lindsay seems like the kind of person who wants everyone to
think she's perfect in every way.
The perfect mother, the perfect wife, almost wife, the perfect
caregiver for the kids she watched.
(31:40):
She wanted everyone to think herlife was perfect, but it was far
from perfect. Lindsay had the miscarriage a
couple of weeks before this happened to Hannah and according
to text messages found in her phone, she didn't think TJ was
being very supportive. In fact, her and TJ have been
fighting a lot the past few daysby text messaging because after
(32:01):
work, instead of coming home andspending time with her, TJ would
go out drinking with his friends.
And just two nights before the incident, he had brought some
friends home from work and they were having some drinks in the
garage. This caused Lindsay to lose her
shit. She had lost her baby, her
husband didn't pay attention to her and was unsympathetic, which
(32:21):
caused her relationship to fall apart.
The only thing she had control over was the kids, so she took
her frustrations out on a three-year old little girl who
was defenseless. This woman is the scum of the
earth. Lindsay then admitted that she
might have gone too far with Hannah.
She said she didn't know why shehad slapped or hit Hannah, she
(32:42):
was just mad. And here is where we come to the
6th change in her story. Lindsay admitted that it was her
that put those bruises on Hannah's chest because she was
aggravated. Like that's an excuse.
She then also admitted to putting the bruises on Hannah's
sides in middle section. She said Hannah was crying that
morning because she didn't want her dad to leave, which is
(33:04):
understandable. She didn't want to be left with
this monster because she knew what was going to happen.
So annoyed with Hannah's crying for her father, Lindsay picked
up the little girl and squeezed her so hard around her middle
section that it caused bruising. They go back to the brain
injury, but Lindsay isn't going to admit to that one.
(33:25):
She may have put all the other bruises on Hannah and lied about
it, but this? This was an accident.
She swears it was. She even showed them a little
bruise on her palm that she got during the fall.
She got a bruised palm, but Hannah got brain damage.
How does that happen? And who cares about her bruised
palm? But Lindsay wasn't done
(33:46):
confessing yet. She said that after Hannah fell
and hit her head that she shook her to try to get her to come
too. But there's more.
And the 7th change to her story and probably the most truthful
yet. Lindsay admitted to shaking
Hannah before she had the fall because she was upset that Jason
was leaving and had been whiningabout it lately.
(34:08):
Which of course annoyed Lindsay. After the shaking is when she
squeezed her. Lindsay admitted she was angry
and that she shook Hannah until she stopped whining.
That's when they fell. She took her in the house and
shook her again. Hannah never regained
consciousness after being shook. The detectives got a full
(34:29):
confession from this monster, Lindsay Parton.
Lindsay admitted she had been frustrated, lonely and sad.
When they asked Lindsay why Hannah, her only answer was
because she was mischievous. To show how much Lindsay cares
what people think and her appearance after she was
arrested and was getting ready to be taken to jail, she asked
(34:51):
the officers if there were a bunch of people out there and if
she was going to be embarrassed.Really that's what she is
worried about. You should be embarrassed.
You beat a little 3 year old girl to death.
I bet you don't smack or give anyone in jail an uppercut
because you know you'll get yourass beat.
That's why you have to pick on adefenseless 3 year old.
(35:13):
On April 2nd, 2019, Lindsay's trial began because even after
she confessed to nearly everything at her interrogation,
she still pleaded not guilty. We will talk about why she did
this and her new ever changing story.
Believe me, it's a doozy. At Lindsay's trial, she took the
stand and testified in her own defense.
(35:35):
Once again. She was smiling her sweet smile
like she wasn't on trial for murder and everything was right
in the world. With her sweet little voice,
Lindsay told the jury that her entire confession had been a
lie. Yes, it was all a lie.
And why would she lie about this?
She said that she felt the need to protect everyone.
(35:58):
Yes, everyone. Sweet, innocent help everyone.
Lindsay is back. She risked her own freedom and
risked leaving her kids without a mother to protect.
Who? When asked this question she
said TJ and Jason. She said they had been asking
her a lot of questions about Jason during her interrogations
(36:20):
and they had interviewed TJ the day of Hannah's injury.
They then asked Lindsay the question we all have, why would
she be willing to lose everything to protect Jason?
Lindsay stated that she never thought she would be in trouble
and she thought Jason would backher up.
She didn't think she would get in trouble for killing a child.
And how did she think Jason was going to back her up?
(36:43):
I mean, he already was. He said he believes Lindsay did
something to his daughter. So there, he backed you up,
Lindsay. When asked why she would want to
protect someone who would do that to Hannah, Lindsay just
said that Jason was her friend. If she thought this was making
her look good, she was wrong. So her friendship with Jason is
(37:03):
more important than Hannah's life.
She just keeps making herself look worse and worse.
Then the most shocking part of her testimony came when she
acknowledged that Jason had given her permission to
discipline Hannah. Lindsay was asked by the
prosecutor if she thought it wasOK to hit Hannah with her fist
on her chin. Lindsay said yes.
(37:26):
She was asked if she thought it was OK to squeeze Hannah.
Lindsay also said yes. She was asked if she thought it
was OK to shake her and Lindsay said yes.
She was asked if she thought it was OK to hit Hannah on the face
with an open hand and Lindsay said yes.
(37:46):
This is all the jury needed to hear.
Lindsay was convicted of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and
endangering children. She was sentenced on May 9th to
life in prison with a chance forparole after 18 years, which I
hope she doesn't get. Hannah was a three-year old who
already had been through more than a lot of adults ever go
(38:09):
through in their entire life. Her life was just starting to
get better. Her daddy got a job, she and her
daddy got a new house. She spent time with family
members that loved her. Hannah had no mother figure in
her life except for Lindsay, andinstead of showing Hannah the
love that she deserved from a mother, she showed her evilness
(38:31):
and hatred. I hope Jason is at that parole
hearing in 18 years and everyoneafter that on Hannah's behalf so
that this monster stays where she belongs, behind bars until
the day she takes her last breath.
