It is critical to understand and acknowledge the existence of disparities, and this is the first step toward equity. Unfortunately, our education system is not immune to disparities, where certain groups of students are overrepresented or underrepresented in specific programs or services. For instance, Black students are often subjected to disciplinary actions even for minor offenses, while students with disabilities are excluded from challenging academic programs. This disproportionality in education has far-reaching effects on students' well-being and academic success.
