Welcome back to another episode of The Voice of Love: Mystic Poetry for the Yearning Soul, a spiritual podcast and inspirational video series dedicated to sharing, reading, and interpreting mystic poetry that can lift your Soul, help you find yourself spiritually, and acquire wisdom for a better life.

In this episode, we explore three deep poems about love and finding yourself spiritually, including one of my favorite original poems, as well as poems from two Sufi masters who inspired Rumi and made him the beloved poet and mystic he is today: Sanai and Attar.

Rumi even acknowledged Sanai and Attar as having a tremendous influence on his life and poetry, stating:

"Attar was the soul and Sanai its two eyes; we came from their path."

We start our journey in 12th century Afghanistan, learning about the incredible life of Sanai, and how he went from singing blind praises of kings and princes to transforming the world of Sufi mystic poetry. We delve into his masterpiece, "There Is No Place for Place," and unravel the layers of meaning contained in this deep poem.

Then, we transport ourselves to the northwestern reaches of the medieval Persian empire in the city of Nishapur (in modern day Iran), where we meet the legendary Attar and drink from the gauntlet of life wisdom that his poem "Invocation," while losing ourselves in two of his stories that are bound to change the way we look at the world—and our selves.

Finally, we carry the spirit of these two greats into the present day, exploring one of my favorite original poems: "Drink From Your Soul." An inspirational poem about finding yourself and tapping into your absolute Essence, this deep poem is sure to leave you feeling inspired, uplifted, and alive.

Supporting these poems, commentaries, quotes, and stories is a continuous soundtrack of calm music—with uplifting melodies from the likes of Tony Anderson, Brique a Braq, and Max LL—that will take you through the highs and lows of life and the mystic poetry that aims to describe it.

It's a lot to pack into this 1.5 hour episode, but I hope you take some time out of your active life to slow down and steep into the beauty and wisdom awaiting inside you.
