Coby Liew is an experienced psychotherapist and mental health practitioner with a passion for life, health, and healing. As the Founder of UNSPOKENStory.org, Coby aims to change the social conditioning around how men are taught to express or suppress their emotions. He helps men to share their deeply personal, and often never-before shared stories about their emotional journeys, through safe-space interviews.
Several of these stories can be found on the UNSPOKENStory website and will soon expand to include the unspoken stories of migrants, women, and Australian Indigenous people, and others.
Professionally, in the current climate of great change and upheaval, Coby offers essential mental health assessment and psychological support, crisis intervention, life coaching, as well as complex case management. Coby regularly presents at conferences and facilitates training workshops across different states in Australia and internationally.
Openly gay, born and bred in Borneo, and having lived in different countries, Coby speaks fluently in several languages, and brings 10 years of professional work experience in psychotherapy and social work in areas such as mental health counselling, emotional wellbeing, child protection, international education, community development, and LGBTIQA+ support.
