PLUS ULTRA Mr Eric
Almighty and Phil the Filipino.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Yeah, they've got you
covered and all you gotta do is
wait for it.
Podcast.
Hey, everyone, welcome back tothe wait for it podcast.
(00:37):
I am your co-host, phil smith, aka phil the filipino, and
joining me, as always, is yourother co-host, mr Eric Almighty.
That's him.
There he is, and, folks, welcome to the July edition of
the Game Room, where it HappensNow.
Last month, with the Game Room,we jumped out of our comfort
zone and into a genre of gamingthat we aren't typically used to
(01:03):
and don't really seek out, and,you know, one of us had a good
time and, while it wasn'tnecessarily for me, it was
something that I'm glad I jumpedinto because, again, it was
garnering a lot of interest atthe time and a lot of positive
feedback, and I could definitelysee why this month's episode is
a an episode if you are not apatron I mentioned this is like
(01:27):
minimum three to four years inthe making, maybe even more,
because today, as you can see inthe title, we are talking about
sea of thieves, developed byrare, who is a an iconic
developer, and eric with howmuch we love the Pirates of the
Caribbean series and, of course, you being the big One Piece fan
(01:48):
now, as seen there and in yourroom and on your t-shirt Pirates
what could possibly go wrong?
An open world pirate game thatis now six years into
development and has totallyturned around its reputation?
A full squad of teammates thatcan manage a boat what could
possibly go wrong?
(02:10):
Everything, everything can gowrong and did go wrong.
When we played sea of thieveson a combination of things a pc,
xbox, ps5 we had all threethings covered.
So so I don't want, after thishappens, I don't want to hear
people being like you shouldhave played on Xbox, you should
have played on PlayStation, youshould have played on PC.
(02:32):
We tried all three.
Everything was represented.
So, eric, we'll see how thisgoes If the Sea of Thieves
community comes for us, becauseI know they're very passionate
and they should be, you know, Itotally get it, but we'll see
how this goes, because Sea ofThieves 2024 was an experience
that we probably don't want toremember once this episode has
(02:55):
come and gone.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, phil, three to
four years in the making,
possibly more, because this gamecame out in 2018, which is, I
believe, the year we actuallystarted the podcast.
Very casually, do not want togo back to those days, but I
even remember us talking aboutthe launch of this game, and
this is very reminiscent of usfinding time to play a game that
(03:19):
we wanted to try out that had arough launch.
Think of Fallout 76, an episodewe recently did.
We did this year, and we talkedabout how much fun it was
getting into it and that we wereglad to see it thriving.
Phil, I think we're glad to seethis game thriving but, unlike
most of our episodes where atleast one of us really enjoyed
it, I hate to say it, but we'regoing to probably be bitching
(03:42):
about Sea of Thieves for a solid20 minutes and then call it a
night.
So if that's not your type ofcontent, again, I mentioned
fallout 76.
Uh, there are a ton of otherepisodes that we talked about,
even another crab's treasure.
We talked quite positivelyoverall about that small
developer and how that game cameto be.
Check out our catalog, for sure.
(04:03):
But again, this is going to bean interesting one because you
know we'll talk positives, butunfortunately most of this is
going to be some of ourfrustrating conversation.
And, phil, we've only like verycasually, like silently, agreed
on them.
I don't think we've actuallyvoiced them out.
So that's why I use the wordbitching, because I think it's
going to probably turn into thata little bit, because we're
(04:25):
going to finally get to voicewhat we've been thinking
internally as we shut off ourgame and said do I really have
to play this again?
Speaker 2 (04:34):
yeah, it was an
experience.
So, like eric said, you know,if you want to hear us talk,
maybe positively, aboutsomething ghost recon, wildlands
, hell, divers 2 obviouslyearlier in the year, palworld
All these games had, you know,we played them together as a
cooperative unit, with not evenjust you and I but also our
friends, and then again, pivoting into this, we were like
(04:57):
man, what a time we have, allof our friends being able to
jump into this with us.
And boy did it not turn out theway that we wanted.
If you are listening, if you'rea brand new listener to this
podcast, welcome in.
Or if you are a returninglistener and you need a little
bit of a refresher as to whereto find all the rest of our
content, make sure you stickaround till the end of the
(05:17):
episode.
We'll let you know you can findall the rest, of all the most
important links to keep up withthe more positive side of the
wait for podcast.
Either way, if you decide tostick around and, uh, or or
leave, I promise you you'regonna have a good time.
So, uh, we appreciate y'all, butuh, let's just jump into sea of
thieves and and talk about whatthis game is about, where it
(05:38):
came from, where it is now and, and, obviously, our experience
with it.
Uh, from acclaimed developerrare comes a shared world
adventure game that offers theultimate pirate experience, set
in a rich world of exoticislands, hidden treasures and
dangers, both natural andsupernatural, sea of thieves has
everything you need to live thepirate life and is unlike
(05:59):
anything you've played before.
That's for damn sure.
It's certainly not likeanything we've played before.
So Sea of Thieves, as Ericmentioned, came out in 2018 to
pretty negative reviews, and alot of that had to do with very
similar.
A lot of this conversation isgoing to be a lot like Fallout
76, right, a game that came outwith not enough content, with a
(06:21):
really bad end game and just alack of things to do, and you
know word of mouth was gettingaround that it was pretty,
pretty boring, and we have tocommend what rare has done in
this six year time frame becausebetween then and between now,
it's not only got more contentthat we can even list.
There's no way we could talkabout everything that this you
are able to now do.
(06:42):
They're continuing to poursupport into this game because
people still enjoy playing it.
Like what a concept.
Right, there's never been asniff of a sea of thieves 2 or
something like that, you know,uh, some kind of spin-off.
And while there are microtransactions in this game, you
can play it totally free for themost part, except for jordan,
who spent 40 on the game to playit on ps5.
(07:03):
She could have got it on GamePass, which, eric, at least as
of right now, is the best dealin gaming We'll see what happens
in the future Xbox but it's agame that you can play
relatively easily and now, withit being on PlayStation 5, it's
available to more people thanever.
And, eric, you know, when itcomes to the things that we love
(07:24):
cooperative gaming and piratesit seemed like a match made in
heaven.
And obviously, one of thebiggest things we talked about
when it came to fallout 76 wasthe community.
The community, for fallout 76is so gracious and so nice and
so welcoming.
And the sea of thieves, youknow when, in community, the
community gift, where donaldglover walks in with the pizzas
(07:46):
and everything is just going toshit.
That's what sea of thieves ison a nightly basis, and
something as simple as trying todig up treasure is the most
infuriating and frustratingthing that I have done on any
video game in months.
So I'll just start there, eric, because the community in this
(08:07):
not very welcoming whatsoever as, as you, you can recap our
first hour of gameplay and seethieves if you want yeah, I'll
do that because I feel like somecontext is needed.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
um, it should be
noted that this game coming to
playstation this year, which israre's first.
I believe this is somethingthat became like one of the most
downloaded games that monththat it came out.
I think that was around likeMay.
So I mean definitely stillappealing and giving off
interest to potential new gamers.
(08:39):
As a new gamer coming into thisfilm, it didn't feel very
smooth, I'll say.
To kind of get things started, Ithink the game assumes maybe
you can figure some of it outand you know what you're doing.
I don't need a tutorial.
In fact, we're gonna play a newgame and I was told a tutorial
was there and, in typicalfashion, I have not done said
(09:02):
tutorial.
I don't like doing them, whichyou would think is
counterproductive to thefeedback I'm giving here.
Because, while this gamedoesn't necessarily need a
tutorial, I felt like it wasn'tso simple to jump into, and that
was very present from the firstisland that we went to.
We go to this island and wehave a map.
We're not exactly sure how todig up this treasure.
(09:23):
It doesn't feel very simplisticin that way.
Just X marks the spot, dig, getyour treasure.
So we're figuring this all outand all I hear is why is our
ship on fire?
And we all collectively turnfrom the island to see our ship
sinking on our first island, first get-go.
(09:45):
Now I understand what you'regoing to say.
Should we have gone to aprivate party?
We'll talk about thatexperience, because that was a
whole nother thing.
But we wanted to really give ita shot.
And later on, phil, you know oneof many ship sinkings and I
understand it's a pirate game,like I get that right.
One of the people asked us postship if we're new to the game
and I understand it's a pirategame, like I get that right.
One of the people asked us postship if we're new to the game.
(10:08):
And then we only heard thatbecause our friend Jordan went
to game chat to tell them thatbecause she was so frustrated
she was like, guys, we're new,we don't know what we're doing.
They did offer to help afterthe fact, but it was a little
bit too little, too late.
So there's just a little bit ofcontext on where that comment
stems from.
Regarding the community, itdefinitely the interactions we
(10:32):
have had have not been verypositive, but that's
understandable to a pointbecause it is a pirate game and
like I understand that, butthat's not really very fun.
If the game doesn't make it fun, and I don't know, phil, I mean
we gave it a couple goes.
Uh, for context, we playedmaybe five or six different
nights.
(10:52):
Uh, one night we were streamingon twitch and did that.
So to phil's point abouttalking about pc, I was
exclusively on the xbox but yeah, phil has pretty much been on
every console with this eachtime and it's been the same
experience.
So, all that to say, this game,I think, has such appeal to
people and maybe there's anaudience out there for that, for
(11:14):
for this game still for me, I'mjust not that audience and I
don't think you are either rightand I know I can already read
the comments.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
You know people are
going to talk about it's pE,
it's PvP and, yes, that'stotally fine.
And the thing I think you knowwe're going to reference Fallout
76 a lot in this because it'sfresh in our minds and it's the
only thing we really havecomparative wise when it comes
to the same type of environmentand game.
You know there is a passivemode in Fallout 76.
So I don't know if that'ssomething that they would ever
(11:43):
think about, as optimistic andexcited as you possibly could be
, because we had been wanting toplay this for so long.
And just so you know, eric, there is a tutorial.
We have just done it already, remember, because we thought
about playing this like twoyears ago.
So, like I freshened up in thetutorial, but it's still.
(12:05):
It's nothing like crazy, butthe fact that, like we went to
the first night we played thefour of us it was you, me,
jordan and my sister and we werejust like at port buying
clothes and someone attacked us.
We weren't even like on theocean like I get when you're out
on the water.
I think that's free game.
Sure, totally get it.
You have to fight back, youhave to learn, but like I'm just
(12:27):
buying like a hook for it andall of a sudden, our screens
went red.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Wasn't that the first
time we went to the, to the, uh
, ferryman?
Because we were wondering Ithink we were wondering why we
ended up on a ghost ship, so itwas very early on into the game.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Yeah, no, totally get
that so we're just literally
just buying clothes and like, ohyeah, I want to make my pirate
look cool, or how much is it tobe jack sparrow and all that
crap?
And someone one guy, one v4 usand just annihilated us because
he knew how to play the game andcontinued to like, torment us,
I think, throughout the entireserver.
So that's not fun.
(13:03):
And if, if I think, if yourcommunity is going to be
gatekeepy, then no one's gonnaplay your game.
You know what I mean.
And maybe now and well, I don'teven want to say maybe, because
it is very successful, andagain, we're just not the
audience for this.
Like the other and eric talkedabout playing it on stream by
the like the fifth time, tryingto turn our stupid ship around,
(13:27):
I wanted to end the stream.
I was like I'm so over this, Idon't want to do it anymore.
Then I got stuck in a likebetween a fence and a tree and I
was like I just want to fuckingend this right now.
I'm so over it and and andthere's going to be bugs in an
open world game.
That's just going to happen.
But, coupled with all the otherthings that were going so
poorly, I was like this is not.
This is I don't want to do thisanymore.
(13:49):
Eric had to like basicallycoerce me into playing it for at
least one more hour, which, like eric alluded to.
We switched to a private server, which is, you know, you get
less rewards but you're likethat's totally fine, let's get
our bearings, pun intended, let's figure out what to do in
this game.
Just play the four of us withno one else around and see how
it goes.
(14:09):
And it was an equallydisastrous experience, like ow,
how did that even happen?
We ended up on like some islandthat was like full of volcanoes
and we were just gettingdestroyed again, couldn't find
the stupid treasure, just likeon our first night when we were,
when our boat was, uh, sunk byrandoms, couldn't find the damn
treasure.
(14:29):
And you know, couple that withthe previous five hours that we
had tried to dive into this.
It was just awful and, eric, Ithink, for us and for our
friends that we play with, because we're very fortunate
that we get to say, hey, we wantto play this game.
Will you play it with us?
Like we have friends that willdo that with us.
(14:50):
It's an incredible, like a perkthat we have that not a lot of
other people have.
We can tell within the firstlike hour or so is this an
experience that I'm going toenjoy, like you're not
necessarily enjoying Valorant, Ilike Valorant and Jordan likes
Valorant, but you'll still hopon and play with us.
No one, none of us are going tosuggest, hey, let's jump into
(15:10):
Sea of Thieves.
You alluded to playing a newgame tonight, after we were done
recording.
We're playing crime crime bossrock a city, which I'm actually
probably going to talk about andsprinkle in here and here and
there since, uh, so I don't haveto talk about sea of thieves,
um, but it does.
Star chuck norris, danny trejo, danny glover, michael rooker,
kim basinger, uh, vanilla ice, michael madsen and damien, I did
not know that.
(15:31):
It's part of.
It's part of the story mode, which is terrible, which we're
not going to play, but I justwant to.
I just want to point out thatcrime boss rock a city came out
in march of 2023 and gotterrible reviews.
It has also been updated andit's now a lot of fun and people
are comparing it to a more funpayday.
So I just wanted to point thatout so I could talk less about
sea of thievesieves in thisepisode.
(15:52):
But to go back to Sea ofThieves, those were the
combinations of things that arethat we're sitting here now are
like boy what a disaster and Idon't ever want to do that again
.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
Yeah, I think we said
we'd sprinkle in some positive
things and I just I'm, I'mstruggling.
The water is pretty, the water, the water is pretty.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Phil will tell you
that I was constantly spent like
an hour just sitting at thefront of the boat.
Guilty, guilty as charged.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Just I was just like
wow, what of you?
I said that, I said that a lot.
I said that quite a bit.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
We were so mad and
then I sat up there I was like
this is gorgeous, it's reallynice up here um so.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
so there's a couple
things right.
Um, when you're steering theship I understand that this is a
co-op game in the sense thatyou know it kind of forces you.
Somebody has to steer, somebodyhas to be in the in the crow's
nest, somebody has to be at themap.
There was just so much to getfrom place to place, phil.
I don't want to necessarily saythere needed to be a fast
(16:56):
travel mechanic, but I kind ofdo like I really feel like it
was only fun for so long.
And then you know, when we getto the ship, fighting the
navigation of the ship is notthat much fun.
So when it came to combat, bothin the ship with the cannons
and then also when you're onland, like very basic combat,
(17:18):
nothing that is breaking thebank, there's no unique or crazy
power scale or nothing likethat.
You've got a gun, you've got asword, you turn your ship, you
shoot your cannons, like nothingwas really special and I hate
to compare it to this gamebecause it's such a different
game, but no game seems to beable to get pirating better than
(17:39):
Assassin's Creed Black Flag.
Like Assassin's Creed, blackFlag was a ton of fun, from my
memory, if my memory serves mecorrectly, and specifically the
combat with the ship wassomething I always remembered as
a standout.
And you know, you've got yourgames like Skull and Bones and
you've got Sea of Thieves.
Like I just kind of assumed Iunderstood Skull and Bones was
(18:02):
probably going to be shit, butSea of Thieves that's kind of
like what you're going to beknown for, like that's kind of
your thing, and if it's notexcellent, what are we doing
here?
And I think that's the mostfrustrating point that I came
away from was your whole thingis sailing the open seas and
that part of it takes so longand is not that fun, to the
(18:26):
point where I'm literally on theship, full on Titanic, enjoying
the view like, just hold meyeah, and from what I saw, like
a lot of people recommended thatyou do not man one of the four
person ships to start off with.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
But that's how many
people we had and we figured the
more people the better, to kindof even out the experience and
enjoy it.
You know, know to its fullextent.
So, oh, also, not to mentionthe very first island, again,
the one where our ship wasdestroyed.
Not only did they destroy ourship, we could see them dive off
, swim to shore to murder uslike they went out of their way
(19:10):
after they could clearly see, because you can upgrade your
ship to make it look different.
Like there's no, there aren'tany upgrades that make you
stronger, it's all uh, it's allcosmetic.
So you can see that we havelike a plain ship.
There's no upgrades, the onlything we have is like like we
had like a custom flag andthat's because we got it for
free for downloading the game,so you can tell that like, oh,
(19:32):
these are new players, like theydon't have anything on them,
where they have standard guns.
No, these guys jumped off theirship and then annihilated us
from there and that doesn't.
And we haven't even gotten tothe second night.
We tried and tried to play andit was those people that I think
jordan had to hop into thevoice, chat and tell and say,
hey, we're new.
They hunted us down three orfour times and again, that is
(19:55):
just not fun and that's thepoint of the pve.
Pvp I I totally get it.
But, like again, if you'regoing to treat new players that
way, why the fuck am I going toplay your game?
You know, and it just doesn'tseem very uh and it's not.
It's not very new playerfriendly.
So I'm very curious to see hownew players are receiving it.
(20:15):
I did watch a content creatorsvideo earlier today who jumped
into it solo and had a verysimilar experience to us, as one
ship or one or two differentteams jumping in and just making
their life hell.
So that's not something I wantto be a part of and I just it's
(20:41):
like I said, huge bummer Crime.
Boss.
Rock A City is the first gameproduced by In Game Studios.
It's a new developer of around70 employees in the Czech
Republic.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Just so you guys know
about, about rocket city,
wanted to throw, throw that in Ijust, you're not even trying
phil, you're not even reallyyou're not even trying um.
I will say it's just reallyinteresting for me because, like
I was, we were really excitedabout the game and one call out
(21:14):
that I'll make is that um,through about three months ago,
see a thieves was a topic onyour friendly neighborhood
gamers on their youtube channeland it literally was like, is it
worth playing in 2024?
And even with the issues, likeI still thought it would be fun
and I'm gonna, you know, I thinkwe should link we'll probably
link that for this episode downbelow in the show notes, because
(21:38):
I really think you guys shouldcheck out that video.
It's a quick nine minute video.
Get to see a little bit of thegameplay, get to hear a little
bit about is it worth playing in2024.
And I thought phil, like again, because we play a lot of
multiplayer, we'd have a ton offun with it and we would just
make fun out of it.
But again, it just wasn't.
(21:58):
It just was not fun.
And I feel bad because, like,we were pretty sure about this
episode, like we're finallygonna do it.
You know it just dropped onplaystation, let's get it done.
And uh, yeah, here.
We are struggling to continue onin this episode, like,
genuinely, this is probably thefirst episode in a while where I
(22:18):
just want to cut it here.
I just I don't know what else.
I don't know what else we couldpossibly say, because nothing's
going to be positive.
But I will say, if you enjoythe game, we'd love to hear your
thoughts on it because, again, maybe it's your type of game,
your type of style.
Uh, aesthetically the game isfine, uh, but again, nothing to
(22:39):
write home about.
Like there were just is nothingexceptional about this game and
maybe it's not supposed to be,but that's kind of what I was
expecting in name.
Sea of Thieves, I feel like, has built up or rebuilt their
reputation after that launch tobe something that you know
people want to check out.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Uh, it just was a
shame that that didn't work out
the way we thought it would andwe, we kept seeing so many clips
like the, the, the viral stuffcoming out of this game is
hilarious.
It's so good, it's so funny andfor every one moment where we
felt like something organichappened, that was a good time,
(23:19):
it was overshadowed by four orfive frustrating things, whether
it be somebody chasing us downor a glitch or, like eric said,
just being a little boring.
When it comes to traversal andlisten, that's, that's going to
be appealing and is appealing toa certain audience, and it just
wasn't for us.
The only thing that can reallycompare it to, eric, is like
when we were playing Grand TheftAuto V a lot and you had to go
(23:42):
from one side of the huge map tothe other.
But what does Grand Theft Auto Vhave?
It has, you know, the fasttravel, and I think maybe there,
I think there should not befast travel when it comes to let
me get to, you know mydestination, to find the
treasure or whatever to completethis mission, but like, maybe,
fast travel back to port.
You know to like and charge usgold or something.
(24:03):
You know what I mean.
Like what game?
Oh, red dead redemption that,uh, obviously red dead
redemption 2 massive map, uh,you can go to.
You can go to posts around themap and pay to take a stagecoach
, you know, back to NewValentine or whatever, and maybe
it could use something likethat.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yeah, so I was
looking into it because I was
curious.
I was also checking out thecomment section in your friendly
neighborhood gamers video thatI just mentioned.
Apparently, there is fasttravel, but in looking for it
you have to unlock a captainship and each outpost should
have a fast travel station.
Each outpost should have a fasttravel station, but the price
(24:44):
increases depending on thedistance traveled.
We didn't see any of that, soI'm guessing that is something
you unlock.
Again, in our first few hours ofgameplay, that was not
something that remotely becamean option and by the end of our
gameplay, uh, we did not noticeso.
Again, if it is somethingsimple, this game didn't do a
good job of explaining that andI think that's one of my
(25:06):
takeaways from it is just notthe most fun experience.
Maybe, maybe with the rightpeople.
I also feel, phil, this isdefinitely a game that I don't
feel is for us at this age.
Like I definitely felt aged outplaying this.
I think younger people wouldhave a blast with this,
especially a younger group.
A younger group like us.
(25:28):
Like when we were younger, Ifelt like we would have enjoyed
this game.
Current day us, not a thingLike it's just not fun, not fun,
and that makes us sound likegrumpy old men.
But hey, we're over 20 minutesin now being grumpy old men, so
just going to own up to it atthis point.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
No, I was thinking
that I was thinking that exact
thing earlier in this episode aswell, so I'm glad you brought
it up.
So, and obviously the playercount is doing very, very well.
I don't have it up here infront of me on steam, but you
know the uh, the recent reviewsare mostly positive.
All reviews are very positiveand, uh, you know it's doing
very well and that's great.
(26:08):
We like, we want to see gameslike this, especially when they
have a not so great launch.
You love to see a developer, just you know, buckle in and fix
what's wrong.
You know, obviously we've seenthat with cyberpunk 2077, this
and you some other games nowthat are doing very well.
You know when, for every anthemor evolve or whatever, you know
(26:32):
all of these games that havecome out and you know they just
get abandoned.
It's nice to see a game likethis be able to turn itself
around and do very well and it'sgoing to continue to do well.
You know they're going to keepputting out content out there,
but these are just the gripes wehad as new players.
So somebody is going to findthis that's been playing this
for three or four years andgoing to be like oh, you just
(26:53):
need to like, try harder, youneed to do this and you do that.
Well, you know we don't havetime.
Like Eric just mentioned, we're.
Everybody that was playing isin their 30s or almost in their
30s and we have to pick andchoose what we commit our time
to, and if it's not fun, why thehell would I do that?
Again, to bring it back toCrime Boss, rock A City which
we're not going to do an episodeabout, so I'm just going to
(27:14):
talk about it more right now.
Jordan and I downloaded thatgame last night, played for like
an hour, hour and a half, hadan absolute blast.
Eric, I already sent the groupchat a video of something stupid
that happened in it, and youknow what I do and what I did in
Crime Boss.
I did, I did a tutorial, Ipicked multiplayer, I selected a
(27:34):
mission and we were in a gameand we were robbing a bank and
it's instant.
It was just like that.
It was crazy Sea of Thieves.
We were like walking around anisland trying to figure out how
to raise the anchor, what's itcalled, adjust the sails and all
that shit.
Figure out how to read the map, because there's no mini map.
Obviously you're pirates.
(27:54):
It's very realistic quoteunquote.
And within an hour we hadgotten sank three times and
we're getting bullied, and wewere just over it.
So there.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
There was that one
mission that I accidentally
signed up for yeah we had tobring like 10 baskets onto the
boat.
That's when the ship got topunish me, yep, and to punish me
, phil made me bring all 10baskets to the boat by myself,
which took a solid 10 minutes, and then we got the boat stuck
and we couldn't do the mission.
(28:26):
So that's a good example.
Film you keep bringing up, youknow, crime Boss.
Not once have you brought up EASports College Football 25,
which has been literally thegame that's been eating up time.
It's the game we're going totalk about next month and I know
we are excited to have aconversation we really wanted to
get.
We're going to get a ton.
(28:47):
We already got up.
Let's put it this way weprobably have double the hours
of time we've spent on Sea ofThieves already on college
football, and this episode isbeing recorded on the 21st and
the game just came out days ago.
So that should really just tellyou the difference much
different games, but just thedifferent experience of being
(29:09):
able to jump into it, uh, andhave a good time, and maybe
that's more our speed.
Um, I'm throwing 70 picks, uh,every single game on getting
blown out by 30, but listenthat's more fun than playing.
See a thieves listen and gettingblown out by 30 every single
week, playing road to glory andjust getting smashed as a
(29:31):
two-star recruit still more funthan see a thieves, and that's
not how it should be.
So I think, on that note, phil,uh, we have collectively shit
on this game more than enough.
I think we can put it to bed,uh, and it's just a
disappointing chapter in ourgaming history, but one that I
think was inevitable, and I'mglad we at least got it over
(29:53):
with.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
So there we go.
Crime boss rock.
A city is focused aroundmissions undertaken by teams of
four criminals.
The player controls one of thecriminals and cooperates with
each uh.
Either other players or aicontrol teammates to pull off
heists in the first-personperspective.
It's currently available fordownload on PlayStation Preview.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
No, stop.
Okay, all right, stop, stop, because then you're going to.
You could have done Valoranttoo.
We haven't even played CrimeBoss together.
I enjoy Valorant, but to thatpoint I also have been enjoying
Valorant enough to keep playingit.
So that's another game example.
But, phil, before you go on arant about any other game, I'm
(30:33):
just going to call it here.
I'm not even going to ask youif there's anything else.
I'm going to call it here Seaof Thieves.
Guys, go check it out, formyour own opinion.
Not a recommendation from us,but we do acknowledge that there
is a player base out there thatcan enjoy this game, and I
think that audience is just notus.
So, phil, why don't you take usout to the rest of this episode
(30:56):
, which is basically going totell you guys and beg you to
check out our other content?
That is not this one, which Ifeel, unfortunately, has been
something we've been saying onseveral episodes.
For context, I think we saidthis on Lego Ninjago as well.
We kind of said that on anothercrab's treasure.
There have been a couple onesrecently and we are sorry about
(31:20):
that.
So, phil, why don't you letthem know where they can check
out more content?
And let's wrap this up For thelove of God, please.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
Yeah.
So there are several ways thatmissions are set up.
The simplest option is a quickplay one, one off.
There are six mini campaigns ofthree missions chained, chained
in a row, with a.
Oh well, let me just wrap.
Uh, I guess I'll wrap thisthing.
Uh, crime boss, rocky city is alot of fun, you guys should try
it out um also wikipedia has adark mode now, just so you guys
(31:49):
know that was the switching fromlight to dark mode on the sea
of thieves wikipedia page wasthe most fun I've had with the
game out of everything that wehave done.

Eric, the Ultraman Risingepisode has significantly less

you guys haven't watchedUltraman yet or you really like
Lego Ninjago.
