Speaker 4 (00:35):
Hey everyone, Welcome back to the Wait For it Podcast
.
I am your co-host, Phil Barrera, aka Phil the Filipino.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
And I'm your other co-host, mr Eric Almighty, and
we are back with this edition ofwhat Did I Miss, and we brought
back two special guests thathave been on the podcast
recently, we've become bestfriends with.
I need to make sure to clarifythat, otherwise one of them may
hurt me and Phil.
I'm very excited to jump intothis one.
It's going to be a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Yeah, we said, you know what.
We should hang out with thesepeople three weekends in a row,
and that's what's happening here.
To be fair, we may not see eachother a whole lot in April, so
we're just like trying to getahead of our scheduled time
together.
So for this episode of what DidI Miss Bringing back in Bridget
Rules, vintage Macaroni fromretro AV rewind.

(01:24):
Thank you, guys, so much fortaking the time and putting up
with us.
Again, for however long thisepisode may last, let's send it
over to Bridget.
How are you doing tonight?
And again, thanks for beinghere.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
I'm good it's been so long since I've seen you guys.
Definitely it's been like sixhours or something.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Yeah we were having withdrawals.
So that's why we brought youguys back in so vintage.
How are you tonight?

Speaker 2 (01:48):
doing wonderful.
Uh, yeah, I think.
What have we done?
Oh yeah, we had twoback-to-back conventions and
then you guys had the tradingcard event, so it's been a busy
month.
Oh my gosh.
I don't know if you are alltired, I am tired I'm exhausted.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Yeah, um, we had yeah , because we had collective, and
then we also went to stingraycon all together and then you
guys came to my comedy show andthen we did this today.
So march was crazy.
I forgot just looking backthrough the discord eric that
the the oscars was at thebeginning of the month.
I thought that was so long agolike.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I thought it was like minimum last month yeah, but we
did, we did a little watchparty in the discord for that.
So, like again, it's just beenuh, retro av rewind has been a
part of our march what did wecome up?

Speaker 4 (02:39):
what was the name?
Wait for av rewind is that whatthe name?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
best friends Forever is what it's called.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
No, I put it in parentheses, so it's Wait for AV
Rewind.
Or if you guys want to go first.
Retro AV for it.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
I really piqued that Weight Watchers.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
We've got a couple weeks to form that up before our
combo episode that's coming outin April.
Oh, I thought you were talkingabout the episode.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
I was like this comes out in two days.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Good time to workshop .

Speaker 4 (03:16):
No, we don't.
Anyway, for those of you thatare joining us and maybe you've
never listened to an episode ofwhat did I miss, it is a very
unstructured and just very funand casual episode where we have
a couple of guests on and wetalk about pop culture stories
from the month before that youmay have missed out on.
There have been threeiterations of this particular

(03:36):
episode and this seems to be theone that has stuck, and it's
also one of our favoriteepisodes to record because,
again, I think we really just doit for ourselves so we can hang
out with our friends, which iswhat we are going to do today.
So, eric, anything else youthink we need to go over with
either our guests or ouraudience before we get to the
most important part of what didI miss.
Uh, every single month, whichis your favorite part, you know

(03:59):
yeah, no, no, I think we'reready to get into this.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
uh, if you don't know , the drill, the wheel is going
to decide what story goes first, and hopefully some of us have
more than one in case theyoverlap.
But honestly.
Phil, we've been doing prettygood for quite a while without
having that issue.
So, fingers crossed, knock onwood.
Bridget, vintage, in just amoment you're going to come off

(04:23):
mute and you are going to withme, say spin that wheel.
I'm going to count down three, two, one, and in that same
cadence, you will then say spinthat wheel.
And we will try to do that likefour different times and get it
right.
Maybe once, but it's the funthat we're looking for, and Phil

(04:45):
loves to see me miserable.
So this is going to be a lot offun.
So, phil, I think I'm ready.
Vintage, bridget, are both ofyou ready?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yes, we're ready for it All right, let's go for it.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
We're going to go in three, two, one Spin that wheel,
oh wow that was pretty good, all you other what did I miss,
guess?
That was in harmony, it reallywas Bridget look at that.

(05:18):
Bridget, are you excited to getit over with, or nervous?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
because you're first both yes, also yes, all of the
above.
Are you excited to get it over?

Speaker 4 (05:24):
with or are you nervous because you're first
both?
Yeah, okay?
Yes, the answer is yes also.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Yes, all of the above I'm going to go with.
I have three.
I'm like should I pick one?
I know that one of you willdefinitely pick do you want to?

Speaker 4 (05:43):
yeah, ruin your to remove something from somebody
else.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
I'm going to go with common side effects.
Have you guys seen this?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I have seen the first two to three episodes.
I need to get back on it veryquickly.
Enjoyed it, though.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Okay, it's so good and it just got renewed for a
second season.
The season finale comes outtomorrow.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
Yeah, this is the the show.
I sent that clip.
I sent you like months ago.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Yeah, I have not started it yet, it's so good it
will fill that little severancehole in your heart that will be
there I actually watched thefirst episode last night, so
it's funny that you picked it.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I I actually I didn't know what to expect with the
show and I mean it'ssurprisingly really good, like
yeah, I heard it's more like alot it is.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
I heard it is funny, but it's also a little bit more
dark yeah, it's very dark yeahokay, yeah, and it also has a
lot of like, um, like.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
The whole premise is the sky finds a mushroom that
cures everything, like evendeath right or like on the brink
of um, and it kind of toucheson like, if you had that one
thing that could solveeveryone's problem, would you
just give it to them or wouldyou try to like profit off of it

(07:00):
?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
okay, this is.
This is a great question 100profit yeah, you're like profit
I feel like I I let's.
Let's talk about the levels ofprofit, though.
Like at what point you knowwhat I mean like at what point
would you give in, because Ifeel like that number would be
different.
Does anybody here?
Is anybody here not gonna givein?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
just, off give into.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Is anyone going to do the right thing?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
And just give it away .

Speaker 1 (07:26):
And give it away.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
It depends to who I know.
That's bad.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
I think I would do it on a case-by-case basis, Like I
would have to review and Iwouldn't tell everybody about it
.
So I would like, maybe I wouldget to choose, like pick and
choose.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
I'll make it easier.
So if you had, like a mushroomthat could cure everything, like
the show.
But there's only one and youhave to give it to somebody to
basically give to the world.
They have to recreate it oryou're going to try to keep it
for yourself and sell it to thehighest bidder.
It's kind of like the last of us, the end of the last of us.
Mushroom's probably not greatin that world, but yeah, I'm

(08:00):
curious if anybody woulddefinitely do the right thing,
cause I feel like all of us havea price, and now I want to know
what it is.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
Well, here's the thing is, we need death, like
it's a very important part of it, and and also the same kind of
thing it's.
It's it's different, but same.
Remember when, in Brucealmighty, he just granted
everyone's wish.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Everyone's prayer.

Speaker 4 (08:19):
Everyone's prayer, prayer, and that that's not good
either.
So I think I would be selectivewith it and give it out.
Um, and then I could.
I could who I give it to?
I could then profit off of thebad people somehow, because,
yeah, does it also do thereverse and make people sicker?

(08:40):
Yeah no, no so.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I mean, they don't know the side effects of it yet.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
That brings up a good point.
Like if you were to cure alldiseases, what, what would
happen?
Like would?
Would the world becomeoverpopulated and you have other
issues to to worry about.
Like there's so many what, what, ifs, if you were to go down
that route, that could be bad.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yeah, phil, I would never have to go to the doctor.
You don't do that now.
That's a good point.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I kind of forgot about that.
You don't go to the doctor.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
We had a whole conversation about that.
I go to the eye doctor.

Speaker 4 (09:18):
F's in the chat for Aaron.

Speaker 1 (09:20):
I'm that Drake meme where he's like ooh eye, doctor,
dentist.
And then I'm that Drake memewhere he's like ooh eye doctor,
dentist, and then he's like oh,no, absolutely.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
He absolutely is.
No, but I want to check outthis show for sure.
It's on my very, very longwatch list that keeps getting
longer and longer.
You said you watched the firstcouple episodes, Eric.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, I did.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
What's it on?

Speaker 1 (09:42):
HBO Max yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Or Max, sorry yeah it's Adult Swim, yeah, I did.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
What's it on hbo?

Speaker 3 (09:49):
uh, max, yeah or max, that's adult swim, correct
yourself correct yourself.
Sorry, how many episodes um.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
I think there's gonna be 10 in total.
Yeah, 10.
Okay, one comes out tomorrow,is that the?

Speaker 1 (09:54):
yeah, yeah, the season finale tomorrow, yeah,
I'm glad it's getting a seasontwo though, because like, yeah,
the, the animation is one ofthose things and you know, me
and phil are like really bigfans of Mob Psycho and one thing
that people will look towardsis like, yeah, it's good, but
like, the animation isn't mything, and I can really see that
happening with this show eventhough it's not.

(10:15):
You know, it's animation, notanime.
But I like it.
I think it looks really clean,I think it's really fluid, I
think it's unique and it adds tothe comedy elements, because it
really needs that, because theshow is heavier than I even
thought, like our friend Jordantold us like hey, it's not as
funny as you think it is, and Iwas like there's no way, that's

(10:35):
true, based off the clip Philsent.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Based off the one clip that we saw.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
And she was right, it can get very, very heavy and,
uh, violent and very, yeah, veryuneasy.
So, um, the animation, ifyou're not vibing with it, and
the story, that could definitelybe a turnoff.
I'm glad enough people havefound it and it got renewed for
a season two because just offthe first couple episodes I can
definitely see the potentialyeah, it has great characters

(11:01):
too.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Like every single character is just like so
perfect.
My favorite are the two DEAagents that are like best
friends, that's the clip that wesaw.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Oh yeah, jumping the line, that's the one I saw.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I was like Eric, I don't know what this is, but
yeah, it's great yeah what'sinteresting, it's produced by
Mike Judge, who did King of thehill and he actually does does
one of the voices.
He's the I can't remember thename, the ceo, um, but I picked
up on it.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yeah, he's involved with the show this speaking on
animation, that, like I, I'm not, like people aren't a fan of,
fan of.
That's how I felt aboutscavenger's reign which I know.
I know people and it isinteresting.
I am very confused.
I've only watched like two orthree episodes, but that's how I
I kind of felt about it.
But I was like, okay, well, that's, I know that people love

(11:58):
this, I'm gonna, I'm gonna keep, keep giving it a shot.
But yeah, that's how I feltabout the animation in that eric
.
I know we'd like brieflytouched on scavengers reign at
some point last year.
I don't know if you ever, because I think ivan had brought
it up that he really loved it.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
So I don't know if you've gotten to check it out
yet I have not, and that is ashow that a lot of people like.
That didn't get a season two.
So that's a compare contrast.
Uh, again glad that a originalproject like this can get legs
and it doesn't have to be areboot of something or a
spin-off.
You know everybody complainsabout that and there are a lot
of examples, like scavenger'sreign, where something doesn't

(12:32):
get to move forward.
Uh, but then you know you gotshows like this, that that get
the green light and hopefullythey can.
They can stick the landing andstick with it for however long
it's gonna go.
I don't know how many.
You know how many thingsthey're trying to get done as
far as seasons, but it'll bevery curious yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
For sure Cool.
Well, let's.
Eric, Are you trying to shareyour screen?
Yeah, I was, but that's whatthat pops up whenever I like
exit out of the share screenthing, but it's fine, you scared
me.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
No screen thing, but it's fine.
So you scared me.
No, all right, I just get thismessage saying phil needs
something on his browser toshare his screen.
I was like, oh no, all right, yeah, god forbid, you don't
share your screen and we don'tspin that wheel.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
But here we are.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
We have to cancel the whole thing yeah, we wouldn't
be able to move forward.
Uh, there's no civil way tocome up.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
There's no way to just come up with who should go
next, you know what leave it upto chaos and make more timelines
, that's crazy watch one ofthese timelines be someone finds
this mushroom and we don't getto, we don't pick it.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Yeah, so we learned that from community all right,
guys, we're gonna jump into it.
You guys know the drill, sowe're gonna go right into it.
We're gonna go three, two, one, spin that wheel.
Hey, two for two is crazy we'regonna make records.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
Oh, that usually doesn't happen.
It's usually the two guests orthe two hosts.
They go first In order.
All right, Eric.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
This works out.
Yeah, I have a couple stories.
I feel like this one will work, because this is something that
me and Phil really love.
Because this is something thatme and Phil really love, and I'm
curious whether or not you guyshave ever seen this and also
whether you've heard about thisnews.
For Disney, one of the mostexciting, surprising projects

(14:35):
that have been announced is NotJust a Goof, and this is going
to be a documentary exploringthe untold story of a goofy
movie.
According to IMDb's summary, itfollows a young, creative team
tackling their first Disneyfeature, its initial
disappointment and itssurprising resurgence decades
later.
So, with this particulardocumentary, I'm very curious

(14:57):
one.
Have either of you and I'llthrow it to Vintage first have
either of you guys seen a Goofymovie and whether or not you
have, would this documentary andthis kind of resurgence in the
discussion of a Goofy movie in2025 get you to watch it and or
watch this documentary?
So, Vintage, where are you atwith a Goofy movie and have you

(15:18):
heard of this news?

Speaker 2 (15:19):
So the answer, of course, is yes.
I happen to love the Goofymovie.
It's such a warm-hearted taleand I feel like there weren't
many father modern dayconvention and you might see a
power line cosplay or someoneplaying the music from that
movie.
It's just, it's touched a lotof people's and it's fun to see

(15:55):
its resurgence today.
I personally love making ofdocumentaries.
I love the lore behindfilmmaking, so I will be
watching this documentary.
I'm not quite sure what thestruggles would have been,
because I know that.
I mean, I know it wasn't superpopular at the time, but I had

(16:15):
it on VHS and people I knewliked the movies.
So I'm not sure if it wasconsidered like a box office
failure or something like that.
But I actually met one of thevoice actors from that movie Is
it Jason.
Marsden.
I get confused.
There's James Marsden and JasonMarsden.
He did the Voice of Max, verynice guy.

(16:39):
He was also the actor I thinkhe did Thackery Binks from Hocus
Pocus yeah, jason Marsden.
Jason Marsden super nice guy,but no, I'm really excited about
the documentary.
I would love to learn more.
And Phil, actually he waswearing a Powerline not cosplay,

(17:00):
but a jacket at our lastconvention.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
Phil, it was big enough that it could have passed
as a cosplay.
It was a great shirt, in fact.
I think you wore it on anepisode recently yeah, it was a
big hit.

Speaker 4 (17:10):
The shirt and the jacket combo I was.
I asked my daughter shout outto liz.
I was like is this too muchpower line?
And she was like no, not forlike where you were going.
You know like if I just worn itout to like the mall, maybe too
much power line, but for thatparticular night it was fine,
big hit.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Bridget, how about you?
Is a goofy movie, somethingthat has come across your radar?
And if not, what's wrong withyou?

Speaker 3 (17:38):
I'm mentally ill.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
That tracks.
So what is your problem?
Uh, what's your?

Speaker 3 (17:51):
deal follow up.
I've just never seen it.
I think I am like a little bitolder than you guys too, so
maybe that's part of it.
Like it wasn't like on my radar, I don't know okay movie club.
Next movie at movie club Well,it's already Jurassic Park.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
Kind of unacceptable.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Why don't you Jurassic Park for Jurassic June?
I meant to ask that.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Oh, because every Well.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
I mean, do you really want to know?

Speaker 3 (18:15):
It's like a whole thing.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
No, you tell us later .

Speaker 3 (18:18):
Tell us after I know I'm like I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Well, what I will ask you, bridget, before we kind of
continue the conversation, iswhat has been your, like,
awareness of this movie?
Because the reason I kind ofdidn't assume that both of you
have watched it is because evennow you know, phil, we I think
we've talked about this before Agoofy movie is more of like a
cult classic, still like it isnot brought up, in my opinion,
respectfully, among the otherDisney greats.

(18:43):
So I'm just very curious, likewhat has always been your
perception?
Did you know of it?
Is it something that you see alot and you just never got into
it, never, uh, came up in yourqueue like what's your
relationship been with this filmthat you haven't seen?

Speaker 3 (18:58):
um, I know that it exists.
I've seen the memes.
My friend Quinn cosplayed asone of the characters.
She was perfect.
It just never like.
I was never like.
Oh, I gotta watch it.
I don't know.
I guess I need to now or I'mgonna be kicked out of the group

(19:20):
.

Speaker 1 (19:21):
I will tell you best friend status is currently on
hold.
Kinda crazy, phil.
If you could talk through theanger out of the group.
I will tell you best friendstatus is currently on hold.
Kind of crazy.
Kind of crazy, phil.
If you could talk through theanger that I know you're feeling
, because I'm feeling it.
What are your thoughts on thedocumentary?
Oh, phil, phil, please Stayprofessional.

(19:41):
We didn't know.
We didn't know this before wemet them.
We would have thoughtdifferently, differently, we
would have handled thingsdifferently.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Here we are so a little bit of phil lore here.
Uh, yeah, a goofy movie waslike my favorite movie growing
up.
A lot, a lot of that had to dowith the music.
I was a big fan of michaeljackson, uh, in sync back.
She was like that style of popback then.
That was really coming uparound the 90s and, yeah, I
wanted to change my name to Maxat one point.
That's what I absolutely wantedto do when I was younger.

(20:10):
But no Goofy movie, yeah, because that's a really good
point.
Vintage, like I don't know, there were a whole lot of
father-son stories that werebeing told around this time and
I think, and I don't know, we'llsee that we around this time.
And I think, and I don't knowwe'll see that we'll see what
happens when the musical or whenthe documentary comes along.
But I don't think that I meangoofy was really a priority for
Disney.
So the fact that this did getlike a um, you know, a wide

(20:32):
release and it did end upbecoming very popular, um, it
didn't really gross a whole lotof gross less than $40 million
according to Wikipedia.
Um, it's a really quick movie,like I think that's what you
realize, eric, as an adult.
When you watch it you're like,oh, this is, this went by.
They're already at the finaleof the film.
So I'm very excited to see thatthis is getting that

(20:52):
documentary.
I'll be watching it day one forsure.
And yeah, it's just a characterand a story.
And again, the music thatreally really resonates with
people after 30 years thatreally really resonates with
people after 30 years.
I mean Powerline Tevin Campbellis iconic and I'm very excited
to go behind the scenes.
I watched a similar documentaryabout the Emperor's New Groove

(21:18):
and that was really good and howthat movie started off as
something totally different.
So very excited about this one, about one of my favorite
animated films of all time.

Speaker 1 (21:28):
Yeah, it's coming out April 7th reportedly, and very
excited to jump into that.
Goofy Movie obviously came outa while ago, to Vintage's point,
and I don't have the exactnumbers, but it looks like this
film was about $18 million to bemade and it opened at like six
and it finished at like 35.
So when you consider everythingfor advertising and things of

(21:50):
that nature, it like just missedor it was short of being a
success.
It obviously had a cultfollowing on VHS as well and for
a movie that's an hour 16, likeI, I implore anybody that's
seen it, and especially if theyhappen to be in this recording

(22:10):
session, uh, just by chance, towatch the movie, because it is
uh at that at that time.
It's a, it's an easy watchthrough, it's a good time, the
music's great.
I think it is one of thoseclassics and anytime I bring up
the VHS for a goofy movie, Ialways talk about the music
video.
Uh, because I always rememberdr looney's remedy from
parachute express and it's sucha nostalgic thing that feels

(22:33):
like a fever dream.
So, uh, really excited to to golisten to that after this, now
that it's entered my brain.
That being said, I do want toask before we move to our next
question, our next topic whatDisney movie do you feel is
super underrated or unknown?
Is there a Disney umbrella typefilm that you feel people don't

(22:55):
talk about?
Vintage, you can go first.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
I have a soft spot for Atlantis and Treasure Planet
.
I really loved that animationstyle and I mean the stories
were epic like they were likeIndiana Jones-esque, I mean just
vibrant, and I miss that spark.
And if you get to when we getto my story, I'm going to

(23:19):
complain about Disney.
But I really, I really lovethose movies and I don't hear a
lot of people talk about them asmuch and I would love if they
had a resurgent or a cultfollowing.
I'm not sure if they do.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
No, they definitely do.
I think they call that thepost-Renaissance era.
Obviously prior to that you hadthe Little Mermaid, beauty and
the Beast Aladdin all of thosefilms.

Speaker 4 (23:43):
Remember when they tried new things.

Speaker 1 (23:46):
They did.
One of those was Lilo andStitch, which was a success, but
then you had films like BrotherBear alongside Atlantis.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
I like Brother Bear man.
It's not great but it's a goodmovie and they put.

Speaker 1 (23:57):
Phil Collins again in it.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
Phil Collins went hard on that Brother Bear
soundtrack.
He went in on Brother Bear.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
They said hard on that brother.
You went in on brother bear.
They said you could take abreak, phil, and he said nah, uh
.
So I do want to say this, though to to vintage's point
that's a great call out, and itjust really is crazy that they
refuse to do live actionadaptations of those movies.
Those movies are perfect forthat.
I mean, tom holland can be inboth tom holland and zendaya
could be in both.
Um, but emperor's new groove andlilo and stitch are really the

(24:30):
only ones that get a lot ofrespect.
You know there's their chickenlittle lovers.
I, if I was to not pick a goofymovie, I like dinosaur.
I know it's not everyone's cupof tea.
I do understand that.
Um, but yeah, again, a lot ofoptions that are here for live
action.
I've totally forgot about Bolt.
It just showed up on this listand forgot about that one too.

(24:54):
Yeah, me and Phil were into Boltwhen it came out.
But, bridget, is there aunderrated like Disney movie or
animated film in your, in yourmind?
That kind of comes to mind.
You know, you said you're alittle bit older, so like back
in the 30s or something yeah, snow white, no um no, actually

(25:17):
meet the robinsons.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
I don't know if any of you have seen that I was
gonna.
I love that movie, yeah, somuch it like the backstory of
the villain and like the singingfrogs, I mean how can you not
that could also be a live actioneasily.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
Yeah, it would be really stretch, yeah but it's
yeah, I love that movie so muchyeah, it's got a great twist I
just recently watched it withinlike the last, I think, five or
six years.
I had never seen it, and I wasworking at the disney store when
this movie came out and I hadnever seen, I was like this
looks dumb, other than otherthan the t-rex clip.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
I was like I don't, I'm not gonna see this listen if
you don't, if you don't get alittle emotional at the end when
they play little wonders by rob, by rob thomas, oh yeah you're
not a real person again.

Speaker 4 (26:01):
I think that might have been an animation thing.
I think people were turned offby the animation style.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Yeah for sure.
Yeah, phil, any Disney film Iknow a goofy movie would fall
under our umbrella, but is thereanother one that maybe you talk
about a lot?
I'll throw another one in there, one movie that people don't
talk about and show enoughrespect.
I know that people have theirlove for Aladdin.
You have your Return of jafarfans, but king of thieves,

(26:27):
aladdin 3, is fun.
It is a good time and nobodytalks about it.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
I liked it better than the second one, so I had
that them all on vhs.
And the third one was probablybecause they advertised oh,
robin williams is back, so itfelt like such a big deal.
Yeah, you got robin williamsback.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
You got hot al back.
You got hot Aladdin dad.
It was great.
We were having a great time.
We were eating.
Phil, not to hijack what isyours, Do you have any?
That isn't a goofy movie or oneof the ones we mentioned.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
No, those are the main ones.
I guess Oliver and CompanyOliver and Company is one I
really love.
It's got that Billyy joel magic.
As far as the song, I think whyshould I worry?

Speaker 1 (27:09):
is a top tier really really good characters.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
It's a really cute story.
Um, it's got that classicdisney animation and and I think
it's like a good mix of alsomodern songs.
So I would go with uh, oliver, and Do not live action those
animals, please Just leave it,oh God, no, Also don't know how
cute that story is.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
It's about this homeless man who has a debt and
then they kidnap the girl, therich girl.
The animals are cute.

Speaker 3 (27:38):
Almost killer, isn't it?
The animals are cute.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Isn't it the little creepy one starts freaking up on
the poodle, are you?
Talking about the chihuahua thechihuahua.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
Yeah, listen, we don't talk about those parts of
old hey.
Hey, the stereotype dog.
Listen, we'll be here for along time if we're going to do
this.
No, it's fine, vintage what?

Speaker 1 (28:03):
were you going to add ?

Speaker 4 (28:08):
Oh, I think it's a play or it's based off of Oliver
Twist okay so that's the plotoh, eric was like oliver I see
it that's the same name ohanybody else?

Speaker 1 (28:21):
three caballeros.
Anybody else?

Speaker 4 (28:23):
anybody else eric's favorite fucking ride at disney.
It's so good it's shut downright now.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
So yeah what the fuck right?
Well, with that being said, wehave two stories left.
Could we flip a coin?
We could, but instead we'regoing to spin that wheel and
we're going to do it in a 3-2-1cadence.
Let's jump into it, we're goingto go 3-2-1.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Spin that wheel.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Honestly, if this doesn't come out right in
recording, I'm going to bepissed.
That's three for three.
I don't want to put pressure ona fourth, but here we are.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
It was up All right my turn.

Speaker 4 (29:09):
Okay, well, I'll use this opportunity to plug a game
that I've been playing withJordan.
We haven't really been able tostream it because I got it on
PlayStation 5, so I don't havethe ability to stream it on PC
quite yet.
But I want to talk about theSplit Fiction game already
getting a movie adaptation, asHollywood is starting to bid on

(29:32):
this story.
So it is the latest gamereleased by Hazelight Studios,
who did it Takes Two and A WayOut, as well as the Brothers
games, so I don't know if youguys ever played those, but they
are all co-op there.
It's a studio that is focusedsolely on co-op gaming and couch
gaming too, and they haveknocked it out of the park every

(29:54):
single time.
Variety sources state thatstory kitchen, a media company
that specializes in film and tvadaptations of games and other
non-traditional properties, iscurrently assembling the
project's writers, director andcast into a package deal.
The upcoming film adaptation ofHazelight Studios' previous game

(30:16):
, it Takes Two, was handled bythe same team, and Split Fiction
is getting this similartreatment, and I'll say this
this is another home run forTake Two.
It is so much fun.
Play it with another friend, play it with your partner.
It is a blast.
These characters are once againso layered and dynamic.

(30:37):
And if you can play it on, Ibelieve it's on pretty much
everything, except for Nintendoconsoles, because they can't run
a that's a potato at this point.
Nintendo Switch is, but all therest of the consoles you can
get it on, as well as PC, andit's so much fun.
So I'm curious if you guys, ifyou have any familiarity with
what's been going on with SplitFiction or if you've played any

(30:58):
of their other games.
So it Takes Two or A Way Out.
Those are the two, the twonewer ones, and do you have any
interest in seeing those storiescome to light?
Like I said, they are making anit Takes Two movie, which I
think will be very interesting, depending on casting, but we'll
see.
Eric, I'll throw it to youfirst.
I know you've been throwingaround, maybe playing this with
Stefan or maybe even your wife.

(31:19):
So what do you think aboutSplit Fiction and are you
excited to jump into iteventually and possibly see a
movie?

Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, I mean, split Fiction is interesting.
I've yet to play it, but it'san interesting concept in the
sense that there are so many ofthese games specifically by
Hazelight Studios.
I mean, you've got a way outthat you could throw in there as
a film as well.
You've got it Takes Two.
These are movies where thewhole point is not really about

(31:46):
the story as much as it is aboutthe gameplay and the co-op
gameplay specifically, that youguys can do, whether it's on the
couch, whether it's virtually,and that's a lot of the
experience.
And, phil, I'd love to hear yourthoughts, maybe really quickly,
about what you thought aboutthe story, because I hear that's
the weakest part of the game, where it Takes Two has a little

(32:10):
bit more of a grounded story atits core, and I think that could
make this a little difficult.
Um, you know, hazelight'salready working on their next
game and moving on to the nextthing.
So, you know, maybe we'llcontinue to get things that work
in movie format, but I don'tknow.
This one seems like out of theones that I've yet to play or

(32:31):
I'm gonna be playing at somepoint that I'm a little bit
unsure of.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
So I'll say this.
I probably should haveexplained the synopsis of the
game as well for anybody that'slistening, and also our guests,
in case you don't know.
So split fiction what this gameis.
So there, the two maincharacters are authors and they
are brought in by like a bigpublishing company and they,
under the guise that they'regoing to be published writers.
Well, what happens?
They get there and this companyessentially puts them in these

(32:57):
pods.
And what happens in these podsis this company starts stealing
ideas from these people whilethey're in this comatose, almost
state.
So they are just stealing ideasfrom people and then when they
wake up, they have no memory ofthose ideas because they've been
taken from them.
And what happens in splitfiction is these two characters,
the two main characters, accidentally get put into the

(33:18):
same pod and they are now goingthrough their stories together.
So one of them is a fantasywriter and the other one is more
sci-fi, so the two of.
So you go back and forthbetween the two stories of the
characters and each level isdifferent and it's really,
really fun.
So the whole premise of that isagain, it's very, very
prevalent right now because ofall this ghibli ai bullshit

(33:39):
that's going on right now.
It came out of like the perfecttime, so that's the, the
premise of the uh, of the story.
I'll say this eric, uh it is.
It's not as good as it takes to, but it's a better story than a
way out, in my opinion.
A way out you know prison break, that's been done before.
Um, in terms of uh, in terms ofthis, I think that's stronger,
so I would put it second so far.

(33:59):
I haven't finished the game yet, um, but yeah, I get what
people are saying as far as thestory being not as interesting,
but the gameplay is top notch,as always that that's completely
fair, and I guess I'll tossphil's question to bridget first
.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Um, have you played this game?
Do you know about it?
And if not, or even just ingeneral, like what are your
thoughts about these multiplayergames becoming movies?
Have you seen that donesuccessfully?
Is that an interest of yours?
I'll kind of throw it to youwith all of that so I have not
played this game.

Speaker 3 (34:32):
I have never heard of it until this moment.
I feel like I've been livingunder a rock for the past few
months of my life because I'mincredibly busy.
I have played it Takes Two withmy husband and we yell at each
other and it's really fun, andthen we go to sleep.
Nothing like raising your bloodpressure yelling at each other.

(34:52):
Raising your blood pressureyelling at each other um, I've
also played the prison break onewith my nephew and he yelled at
me a lot.
So, um, I don't know if I wantto see them as movies, like I
don't think I would buy a ticket.
I'm also.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
This also leads into the gatekeeping thing that I
have about gaming.
I don't know if I've told thetwo of you this before, but I
have always kind of been in thethought process of if you're not
going to experience that thingin its original form of media,
in its media that it's meant tobe for, then you don't get to
experience it Like that's.

(35:33):
There are so many books ormovie franchises or shows that I
would like man, that loresounds really interesting, but
if I'm not going to take thetime to do that or play that
game, then I'm just I just haveto miss out.
The Last of Us has softened mytake on that over the last
couple of years, but like, ifyou don't, if you're not going
to do do it, then you shouldn'tget to watch it as a movie or a

(35:57):
tv show again.
I I kind of I'm like I'm moreflexible on that than I've ever
have been, but like that'salways kind of been one of my
hot takes.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
I don't know hey, for me I I'm not familiar.
Um well, I I know of games butI've never played them.
I've wanted to play it TakesTwo.
It looks fun.
From what you described for thesplit fiction, I could see that
maybe working better as atelevision show where you could

(36:27):
really dive into the lore andflesh out the stories.
If they could mimic or puttogether something similar to
what fallout did, where theyhave the structure and they
really create their owncharacters and people within the
world and it makes sense andit's true to the source material

(36:48):
, then I think it could work.
But like trying to adaptexactly what you described into
a movie, I don't think it wouldwork.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Like I don't know, not enough time to do all those.
No, no, not at all.
It would have to be episodicbecause there are a lot of
different.
I mean, we've been playing.
We played like 10 hours andthere's been a lot of different
worlds.
So I think for and it is alsokind of like it's also really
goofy and sometimes like reallysilly, and I think that would
definitely work better as a as aTV show.

(37:21):
Yeah, I agree with you.
What about?
It takes two.
How do we feel about that beinga movie?
Again, I feel like you geteverything and more in the game.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
So yeah, I mean, it is a movie, the game's a movie.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Play the game's a movie.
Yeah, yeah, just play the game.
Yeah, I mean like it's a wholestory and you like it's sad and
sweet.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
I don't know, I don't know, I'll watch them.
I guess it depends on again, Ithink it depends on casting.
So for this, for split fiction Ithink it should be amon valani
and and florence pew, and Iwould be.
I'll be there day one if theyget like, if they get the
casting correct.
So, um, I don't know, but yeah,I don't know, uh, who they

(38:03):
would cast for it, who would bein it takes two.
If this worked like 2010, it'dbe kevin james and who?
Eric?
Kevin james and If it Takes Twocame out in 2010.

Speaker 1 (38:16):
Oh man For the mom.

Speaker 4 (38:18):
What is the mom?
She was a redhead, right.

Speaker 1 (38:21):
Emily Blunt came to mind, but I think she's a little
too on the nose.
But you're right in the realmof what I was thinking, oh,
never mind, the dad in it TakesTwo.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
I thought he was a bigger guy, he looks like a
normal dude, but they the dadand it takes two.
I thought he was a bigger guy,he looks like a normal dude, but
they could just cast kevin, kevin, james, anyway, it takes
two.
We could just stop.
Hold on, all right, fan cast, Igot it, uh, cody.
The dad is jake gyllenhaal andthe mom is emily blunt, dr
hakeem and tody on banderas Imean yeah no, if.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
If dr hakeem is in pedro pascal, I don't know what
yeah, he has the sass to do ityeah, he could do it.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Isla fisher is cutie.
Who is cutie?
Which character was that?
Was that the wait hold on?
Was that the the elephant?

Speaker 1 (39:07):
that's what I was wondering oh no, I don't want to
see that adapted.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
I do.

Speaker 1 (39:15):
It is to this day one of the only times I think I
traumatized my child on purpose.
So we had to console after thatand we were having a great time
.
No, it was aggressively bad.
It was bad.
Oh, no yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:33):
But what we're trying to say is just play the game.
Yeah, okay, yeah, but whatwe're trying to say is just play
the game.
So, yeah, okay, I will watchthe movie, if again, if they get
the casting right.
But yeah, emily blunt is likeon all these fan casts, so I
guess she's gonna.

Speaker 2 (39:43):
it's just her yeah, does she look like the character
or no?

Speaker 1 (39:48):
oh, I think, I think she could for it.
Yeah, she does have the facefor sure.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
Yeah, absolutely all right eric, yeah, one more we
have one more.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
We have one more story, and you're probably
thinking to yourself why is thewheel?
Why is the wheel coming backinto play here?
Well, things don't make senseon what did I miss?
So let's go ahead and jump intoit.
We, we're going to do it onefinal time.
Three, two, one Spin.
That wheel.

Speaker 2 (40:23):
I wonder who it's going to be.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
That one was pretty good.
I'm safe to say four for fourhere.

Speaker 4 (40:28):
I think that one was the best one.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
It might have been.
Is it vintage?
We got blue vintage.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Cool.

Speaker 1 (40:35):
So the other two timelines.
We don't know what happened.

Speaker 4 (40:38):
Nope we found the mushroom and we cured a lot of
stuff We'll never, know, it'sall you.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
So I wanted to talk about the Disney live action
movies that have been coming outspecifically.
The last one that's on top ofmine is the Snow White movie
that is out and it's faced a lotof controversy within the last
few weeks for multiple, multiplereasons, and for me personally,

(41:07):
I never wanted to see thismovie, and it's not very often
where I say I don't like an ideaor I don't like a property, but
I've never really beeninterested in the live action
remakes in general.
I tried to watch Beauty and theBeast and I was horribly
offended by the singing in thatmovie, emma Watson's auto-tuned.

(41:31):
I'm a huge fan of the originalmusical and I've seen it on
broadway, so I was really upsetabout that movie and just this
current iteration where, fromthe beginning, there was a
backlash from peter dinklage whocriticized if they were going
to use actual dwarf actors inthe film, which prompted Disney

(41:57):
to change their approach.
So they created CGI dwarvesthat were similar to the
original iteration and to me Ithink they look terrible.
I don't know if you've seen apicture of them, but they look
awful.
Of course people were up inarms about the casting of Rachel
Ziegler, but I enjoyed.

(42:18):
I did enjoy West Side Story.
I think she is a talentedsinger, so that you know I
didn't get up in arms about that.
But also there's the criticismof Gal Gadot's acting like.
I saw this film reel of heracting clips and she's just has

(42:39):
no range, no emotion whatsoever.
So for her to be like to be adisney villain, you have to have
some pizzazz, you have to havestyle, and she's got none of
that.
Like so wooden and plain andboring.
From what I've seen, it's justawful.
So my question to you all wereyou interested in seeing this

(43:02):
film?
If you were, I'm sorry, I justgave a really bad opinion about
it.
But if so, what do you thinkDisney is getting wrong with
these live action films thatthey need to change in order to
revitalize interest?
Because I think a lot of peopleare losing faith in their
ability to bring theseproperties to life, and I'm one
of them.
So I'm just curious what do youthink needs to change in order

(43:25):
for them to like reinvent thewheel?

Speaker 4 (43:30):
yeah, I'm glad you brought this up first off, let's
show these fucking abominations.
Uh, here really quick.
Uh, these are terrifying, theyare, they're horrifying.
And I just watched.
I, eric, I sent you the videoliterally like last night, I
watched the video again.
I'll plug her again becauseshe's great.
One of my favorite youtubers, amanda the jedi, she'll.

(43:51):
She'll watch these films, so Idon't have to.
And she was like these are thisis like nightmare fuel.
And also not even just the, the, the dwarves in them, the
animals are also terrifying.
Looking in the in the movie aswell.
Um, yeah, I, there's so much, like you said, with the Peter
Dinklage stuff.
And then Gal Gadot beingterrible.
And then Rachel Zegler.

(44:11):
You know being love RachelZegler, you know she stands up
for what she believes in and shedoesn't take any shit, and I
think that scares a lot ofpeople in Hollywood.
It's scary.
It certainly scared Ben Platt'sdaddy, eric, so he was.
He had to pull, pull doubletime and try and get Rachel
Zegler quote, unquote undercontrol.

Speaker 1 (44:41):
And then yeah, Also when we mentioned when you first
mentioned gal gadot.
I'm gonna put the clip fromthat one movie where she's like
enough champagne to fill thenight.

Speaker 4 (44:45):
I'm gonna put that clip in here.
She made a really good point.
Uh, that amanda in that videowhere that worked in wonder
woman, because she's supposed tobe a fish out of water.
And then you're like, oh,that's all she does, that's the
only thing she knows how to do.
So we talked about this liveaction thing and one of the
problems is that the Lion Kingmade a billion dollars, so

(45:07):
they're chasing that over andover again.
I'm not very interested inseeing Lilo and Stitch.
I'm not interested in seeinghow to train and Stitch.
I'm not interested in seeinghow to Train your Dragon.
I don't really want any ofthese and I don't know what
they're doing.
And also you run into the issuewhere people are going to scream
from the rooftops that shit iswoke or it's not woke enough,

(45:29):
and there's really like nowinning, especially with these
old Disney films Like Snow Whitespecifically.
You brought up, you know, beauty and the beast, and also
there's a live action Cinderella.
So like you have to updatethese because they do need
updating, but also then theylose the part, then they lose
the crowd that want to see theoriginal story.
You know so, and I watched thesynopsis of this movie and what

(45:51):
happens from beginning to end.
It sucks.
It is not good as far as how itends, I won't spoil it here,
but if you get, if you want to,uh, I'll leave that for patreon.
So if you want to know how thesnow white movie ends, I'll tell
you guys after the show.
But yeah, um, bridget, whatabout you?
Have you enjoyed any of thelive actions?
I can't think of one that Iliked I love all of the live

(46:12):
action movies.
I don't know what y'all'sproblems Could you imagine you
move your camera and you haveposters of all the live action.
That'd be so funny.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
So I've only seen Cinderella and Beauty and the
Beast.
Cinderella, I was like it'sfine.
Beauty and the Beast it wasbasically just the animation,
but live action.
I would just watch the original.
I don't know.
Something new.
Give me something new.
Quit redoing old stuff.

(46:48):
That's how I feel.

Speaker 4 (46:57):
Yeah, they're in this cycle where, for for some
reason, they believe this iswhat people want.
So, eric, you know, like I said, we talked about this in the
past has anybody in your familyexpress interest in seeing snow
white?

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I can't imagine that they would no, not in, uh, not
in this household, um, but youknow, when it comes down to the,
the live action remakes, um,I'm gonna hit like several wait
for it.
Bingo things where we say stuffall the time and uh, you bingo.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
You're ready to take a shot?

Speaker 1 (47:24):
um phil's mentioned this several times.
Uh, disney's been gettinglapped animation wise by other
companies.
One of those companies likedreamworks, you know they're
doing the how to train yourdragon remake, but at least
they're putting out originalcontent, like recently in the
past few years Puss in Boots, the Last Wish, take a shot.
So it is.
You know it's disappointingbecause, like Disney, has held

(47:47):
to a different standard to acertain point and they just
never recovered after theirapproach, you know, during the
pandemic, one of the things thatcame out recently unrelated,
but I think it talks to thebigger point.
You know they recently reportedthat the tiana disney plus
series was shelved and that'sbecause disney is abandoning all
of their streaming contentplans and I think they thought,

(48:10):
between streaming and these liveaction remakes they could just
make bank and the lion king didprove that that could be a
formula, but it just isn'tdoable.
This movie has an estimated.
Snow white has an estimatedbudget of 240 to 270 million
dollars.
It has to crack half a millionto reach that.

(48:33):
That safety net.
Half a billion, the box office, yeah, yeah, half a half a
billion.
So it's.
You know it's unfortunate.
There was all the drama behindthis.
If you put that to the side, like I just think people don't
want to see these anymore.
They want to see the storiesthat make sense to do it and we
talked, talked about it earlieryour treasure planet, your

(48:55):
Atlantis, meet the Robinsons, like all these movies are right
there for the taking, disney, ifyou really want to give those
movies some love.
But it's really unfortunatethey're no longer the the King
or the queen of animation thatthey don't have that title
anymore.
And it really is a shame, because not all of these are bad

(49:16):
.
And I do want to kind of pivotto ask does anybody here have a
live action they liked?
Because Beauty and the Beast, Iwill admit, did not enjoy.
But it is a movie we'll put onfrom time to time just to kind
of have in the background.
And while the beginning ofAladdin is one of the worst
openings, especially one of theworst renditions of a song, when

(49:39):
it comes to One Jump Ahead, Ienjoy that movie for Will Smith,
I just do.
It's such a different take thatI really enjoyed it and that's
crazy, considering I mean that'ssuch an iconic character, robin
Williams.
Crazy, considering I meanthat's such an iconic character,
robin Williams, all of that.
Are these good movies?
Should they be made?

Speaker 2 (49:57):
No, but you know Vintage throwing it to you first
, is there a live action movieyou've seen or wanted to see,
that like, seemed interesting orthat you liked?
I honestly can't answer thatquestion.
I don't.
That's fair, I don't.
I.
I can't think of anythingwithin the last 15 years, or

(50:19):
with their recent resurgence oftrying to do these things, where
I've enjoyed it, or enjoyed itmore than the original.
So no, I can't safely answerthat.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
I know.
I know the Jungle Book is onethat comes up a lot.
That's probably the main one,and that's where I think the
Lion King had a lot of grace, because it was very similar.
Phil, you've kind of stayedaway from them, bridget as well,
so I would assume the answer isno for both of you as well.

Speaker 4 (50:46):
Yeah, I didn't.
I didn't enjoy Aladdin, I didnot enjoy the Jungle Book, I
hated the Lion King.
Fun fact Iman Valani valani, our miss marvel, she gave
aladdin a one on letterboxd, soshe didn't like it either.
And also our friend over at thesuper bracket bros, j davis,
gave it a half star, so I atleast gave it a two and a half.

(51:10):
So, but I I didn't really enjoythem.
I I remember I told you Iwatched, I watched the little
mermaid live action until Iheard aquafina voicing flounder
and I turned it off that'sanother one like the live action
little mermaid, like not theworst thing in the world.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
now I I saw avatar right around that time, so
looking at it wasn't pleasingcompared to that movie, you know
.
So it wasn't a great experience, but the movie itself not bad.
Unfortunately, these movies aregetting a lot more
controversies for things likecasting and comments made by the
actors during the press tourthan judging the film itself.

Speaker 4 (51:50):
I forgot about Mulan.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
But again.

Speaker 4 (51:52):
I want to make it clear again Lady and the Tramp
Forgot about that I want to makeit clear.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
I am not defending the live actions.
I'm just saying there is somegood to find in some of them as
a whole, collectively and evenindividually.
I don't know that any of themhave validated their reason for
existing, and I think that thatspeaks to the bigger issue.

Speaker 4 (52:12):
Haunted Mansion was okay.

Speaker 1 (52:19):
That's also a live action 101 dalmatians, you know
they're yeah, oh yeah 101dalmatians is pretty good I
forgot about that one.
Yeah, with um glenn close weforget about them because those
were so infrequent.
And now we're getting that'sall we get yeah, disney as a
whole has a problem.
We're all marvel mcu fatiguedand now they're trying to run
you know the nostalgia backalready again on that, like it's

(52:42):
just the same circle and untilthey decide to get their head
out of their asses and actuallymake some original stuff for
once and like unique content.
You know they're not.
They're not going to learntheir lessons because inside out
2 just came out broke a billiondollars.
You know they're not.
They're not going to learntheir lessons because inside out
to just came out broke abillion dollars.
You know what I mean.
Like it just.
It doesn't matter what we say.
At the end of the day theyfollow the numbers and if they

(53:04):
get a movie to hit a billion, maybe they throw out five, six
stinkers to try to hit one.
I don't know, maybe that'stheir plan Doesn't seem like a
good model for me, maybe that'stheir plan Doesn't seem like a
good model for me.
But also I don't know whatDisney money looks like.
So don't listen to me.
Remember Cruella.

Speaker 2 (53:20):
That came out.

Speaker 4 (53:21):
Yeah, cruella, that was a thing I heard that was
good, but I didn't watch it.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
I heard.

Speaker 4 (53:26):
Enchanted 2 was a mess.
I didn't watch it.
I didn't watch that because Ilove Enchanted so much, sorry,
yeah, and I love Enchanted somuch that I was not going to
watch Disenchanted after I heardit was bad.

Speaker 1 (53:37):
But Enchanted like is a unique take, a movie that
people like Phil was.
Who are the two?
They're not chipmunks.
Who are the two SquirrelsFlying squirrels Chip and Dale.
Chip and Dale.
They had a movie.

Speaker 4 (53:52):
They had a live action movie.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
I didn't know that.

Speaker 1 (53:56):
Wow, chip and Dale, rescue Rangers and you know
people found a lot of fun.
Thought it was a lot of fun.
It had like Seth Rogen in it,john Mulaney was in it, tim
Robinson.
There's literally the onlything I know about this film is
that they have a clip of the oldsonic, like, if you guys
remember the sonic the hedgehogthe original model, yeah yeah,

(54:19):
there's a clip of that andthat's where that movie is from.
The movie was kind of like a?
Um, like a parody, like aparody of it, and so what?
They use those characters inthat way.
That could work too, like youcan use the foundation of disney
, you can use characters ofdisney, but I think bridget said
it earlier like if you're justgoing to remake the same exact

(54:40):
story and tinker with stuff, nobody asked you to tinker with
what.
What are we doing?
What are we doing here?

Speaker 2 (54:48):
I take that back.
There is one technically a liveaction animation movie that I
like from Disney, and it's whoFramed Roger Rabbit.
I love that movie, but it'scompletely different and unique
and I've never seen anythinglike it since then, so that is
one that I have a lot offondness for.

Speaker 4 (55:07):
Eric, we need to add Christopher Robin to the Late to
the Party list, because everytime I see clips of Christopher
or have you seen it?
No, you want to watch that.
It's got a three and a half onLetterboxd and I've never sent
you the clips of ChristopherRobin of Pooh.

Speaker 1 (55:23):
I mean, that's the one with Ewan McGregor, right,
I've seen it.

Speaker 3 (55:27):
It's actually not bad .

Speaker 4 (55:29):
I heard it's really good.

Speaker 2 (55:31):
Oh, okay.

Speaker 4 (55:32):
That's the one that I see clips of that all the time
and I laugh my ass off, so Ithink we should watch it.
We love little animated bears.
Paddington is like the bestmovie we've seen on Late to the
Party.

Speaker 1 (55:46):
We can check it out sure.

Speaker 4 (55:48):
Cool.
Well, yep, disney again in thetoilet.
You heard it here first.
They're doing horrible.
They're certainly not makingbillions of dollars, but, Eric,
this is where we go to.
The didn't make the cut portionof this.
Do you want to do the discord?
Wrap up last and see if I.

Speaker 1 (56:09):
Yeah, so yeah, I think that'll work.
This was a lot.
There was a lot this month.
Again, you mentioned it at thetop, I think, Phil.

Speaker 4 (56:16):
Adrian Brody is still speaking right now at the
Academy.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Awards.

Speaker 1 (56:20):
He's still going, he's still doing his world
record acceptance speech.

Speaker 4 (56:23):
He's holding his world record acceptance speech.

Speaker 1 (56:25):
I know what I'm doing .

Speaker 4 (56:26):
Don't cut him off, don't, don't, don't, don't.

Speaker 1 (56:30):
I've done this before .

Speaker 4 (56:32):
Yeah, Meanwhile, Kieran Culkin probably left
after he got his award.
It's like I'd like to get backto my family.

Speaker 1 (56:38):
Kieran Culkin left at the pre-show.

Speaker 4 (56:40):
Yeah, so he could yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:43):
There was a lot thrown into the Discord, so I
will absolutely hand it off toyou guys.
Phil, do you want to go firstand just knock out the ones you
have?

Speaker 4 (56:51):
Yeah, we actually could have tied this into the
conversation we just had, because coco is getting a sequel
for some reason, um, which Idon't believe should be
happening.
Game informer is back afteronly like a seven month hiatus,
but that's great.
Uh, it will still be in digitalformat, but I really wish I
still had.
I really enjoyed, you know, back in the day, getting a
physical copies of game informer.

(57:11):
Um, amanda seyfried seems tohave confirmed a Jennifer's Body
sequel.
It seems like people are kindof trying to figure out how that
works and Megan Fox has said inthe past she would love to
return.
That movie has really gottenlike a cult following over the
last few years and it isexcellent and they talked about
how, like, for some reason, thatmovie was like marketed to
horny teenage boys and that'snot what that movie is about.

(57:33):
So hopefully we get ajennifer's body too.
Um, activision I accidentallyclosed out that tab.
Here is activision uh, underfire over using generative ai
for a fake guitar hero game onmobile.
I thought that was funny.
They just came under fire forstuff in call of duty.
Black ops 6, and these raggedybitches at southwest decided to

(57:54):
end their free check bag policyafter a 54 a year.
Uh, decision to do that.
I just wanted to point that out.
Is that pop culture?
I don't know?
Uh, southwest, we don't flywith you for the in-flight
experience.
Uh, we want to get our bags forfree.
So y'all fucked up.
So phil.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
So, phil, bullet, point your, uh, your stories
real quick in a recap and thenwe'll throw it to bridget to
respond to anyone that you want.
Uh, this is our segment wherewe just quickly respond to
anything you want to do it in asentence sure yeah

Speaker 2 (58:27):
uh sentence or less coco sequel anybody interested?
Coco sequel no okay, game, informer back I am excited about
that.
I'm like it's nostalgic.
I always enjoyed getting themfrom gamestop and you know, I.

Speaker 1 (58:46):
I have a soft spot for magazines and those articles
I don't know if it'll be goodyeah, I don't know if it'll be
good, but I'm excited.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
I think they brought a lot of the original staff back
, so that's really cool thatthey get their jobs back, and
it's like bringing the gang backtogether.

Speaker 4 (59:03):
Rooster Teeth back, game Informer back.
It's a good start to the year.
Activision using AI.
We'll leave that one aloneSouthwest Airlines being raggedy
bitches and ending it Boom uhsouthwest airlines being raggedy
bitches and ending bill.

Speaker 1 (59:18):
So yeah, that was mine, eric.
Yeah, I will add this, uh,because this is one of the
things that was uh not in thediscord.
But I heard about phil theashley birch, the actor for aloy
in horizon.
Uh, sony had a ai alo aloyvideo.

Speaker 4 (59:33):
Uh, kind of floating around in like testing and with
everything going around with thevideo game strike right now,
and especially some of hercomments in a show about video
games called mythic quest, whichis incredible If you have not
seen it so so the AIconversation is is getting crazy
and move from movies now togames, Like it's going to

(59:56):
continue to be in the discussion.

Speaker 1 (59:59):
Bridget, did you have any stories that we didn't get
to that you want to quicklyrattle off?

Speaker 3 (01:00:05):
Oh, GKids is going to show the girl who leapt through
time, Summer Wars and WolfChildren over the next few
months starting this summer, andI'm super stoked.
So it's like May, July andSeptember.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
We gotta set time aside to make that happen.
I very much want to see them onthe big screen.

Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
Me too.

Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
And we picked April to do the Girl who Leapt Through
Time.

Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Is that the April movie, or is it Wolf Children?

Speaker 3 (01:00:33):
I think it's Wolf Children, then Summer Wars and
then the Girl who Left ThroughTime in September.

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
I think it's the July one or September.

Speaker 3 (01:00:41):
Is it Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
Yep Phil Vintage.
Anything to add?
I think otherwise, bridget.
Was that your only?

Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
one.
I also had a WWE story Throw itout there.
I'm like I don't know which oneto go for.

Speaker 1 (01:00:57):
There's so many this month, this month alone no, this
is literally didn't make thecut, when, when I, when it's my
turn, I'm gonna be talking forlike three minutes straight,
okay just to give you guys abunch of stories and then you're
gonna struggle to pick whichones to talk about.
So throw them out.
Throw them all out, okay yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
So uh turns turns out , naomi is the one who attacked
Jade.
We're all shocked.

Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
We couldn't believe that I am honestly.

Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
I couldn't believe it wasn't like.
But you know, it probably isthat was the.

Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
That was the craziest uh thing that we've we learned
the sudden turn at eliminationchamber.

Speaker 4 (01:01:38):
Was that march?
Yeah, is that so much?

Speaker 3 (01:01:39):
yeah, oh my god, john cena turned john cena and that
was my next one.
That was this month.
All of it was this month somuch has happened.
Oh, my gosh that's, that'scrazy, and then he like told
that one kid to like go fuckhimself the pan to that kid was
cinema like please.

Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
Oh my god, it was on march 1st.
Yes, that is crazy.
We've lived so many lifetimes.
I know john cena became a badguy.
No, yeah.
So yeah, that that was mine forthose of you that don't
understand the significance ofjohn cena, I'm trying to think
of what the equivalent would be.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Would it be like If Paul Rudd told everyone he was
going to fuck them?
I'm trying to think like LukeSkywalker becoming bad.

Speaker 4 (01:02:23):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
I'm trying to think of something terrible it would
be something that you wouldnever imagine happening, so like
Leonardo DiCaprio datingsomeone over 25.

Speaker 4 (01:02:31):
Anyone his age, absolutely.

Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
Like that's what we're talking about anyone his
age.
That's what we're talking aboutwhich would never happen did.
I say 25 because I also feellike I might have been a little
too old there 25 might be toomuch I forgot what the number is
, but

Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
yeah, I can't believe that was also this month.
That's crazy WrestleManiaseason right around the corner.

Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
I had to remind Phil today that Jey Uso won the Royal
Rumble how do you forget thatyou know honestly it's a
forgettable run to mania.

Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
He's gonna win the title because he should, because
he's hot right now, but he'sgonna win a nazi like yeah world
heavy heat champion I I told myhusband I would pay 80 to sit
floor seats and just like yeetfor an hour off and on and and

(01:03:23):
like if they gave me like twodrinks, like I would do that
what, what, where, what, uh showare you going to where you
could get floor seats for $80.

Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
I would do like $80 in the back.

Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
You could touch the other people, but yeah, I would
just yeet They'll put you on thefloor outside 30 minutes 30
minutes, I would just yeet, Iwould pay for that, okay, well,
now it went down from an hour.

Speaker 1 (01:03:48):
Your negotiating skills, I mean it's the best
part.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
When everyone's standing up and they're all like
out of rhythm.
I would.
I'd do it.
That's just cause in the momentyou're like having a good time.
I wouldn't be, happy.
I wouldn't be proud of myselffor doing it.

Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
I'm sure you did it in December.
I definitely did.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
That's more than likely cause they're gonna have
to get the yeeting out of theway yeah, walking off the show
that out of the way.

Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
Yeah, he's going to walk he's going to go yeet.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
What is the eating?
Can you demonstrate this for?

Speaker 4 (01:04:20):
me Hold on.

Speaker 3 (01:04:21):
We all have to do it like we can't all do it at the
same time.
We have to do it like slightlyoff beat Do we.

Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
Okay, vintage, you got to put your hands up, you
got to get ready to eat with ushands up, you gotta get ready.

Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
Okay, okay, ready.
But everyone just they play asong and they're all like play
the song and everyone's likeyeah but for like 30 minutes.

Speaker 1 (01:04:44):
Oh yeah, oh, my god, it's great.
Yeah, we'll, uh, we'll send itto you, okay he's pushing.

Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
He's pushing merch and he's got.
I know stefan would disagree, but he does have aura.
It's not good aura, but he'sgot it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
No, I mean, he's got it, he's got it.
Bridget any other wrestling ornon wrestling stories, Anything
else.

Speaker 3 (01:05:05):
That's all I've prepared.

Speaker 1 (01:05:07):
Okay, that's fair, that's fair.

Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Vintage, oh no stories that didn't make the cut
.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
I'm good.
I was going to talk about thegame informer one, um, but now
that's it.
Okay, um, I will jump into thediscord roundup.
So this is where, uh, we talkabout what has been posted in
our discord.
Uh, I also added a story or twoat the end, uh, that I came
across, and you are not requiredto respond to each of these,
but if there's one that catchesyour mind, just plug that in

(01:05:38):
your brain.
I'll do a quick bullet pointrecap.
So the discord roundup.
In our discord, people weretalking about the Paddington
bear statue that was damaged andstolen in the UK.
Two men have now been arrestedfor the crime and I hope they
get life.
Alan Richard says you wouldn'teven have to pay me to play
batman in the dcu.
Uh, we've talked about reacher.

(01:05:59):
Arguably, we talked aboutreacher too much on a past
episode of what did I miss, butwe are excited to possibly see
that the electric state debutedwith 10 on rotten tomatoes.
It was the russo brothers lowestrated film ever.
These are the directors of theavengers, the more recent ones
and the upcoming.
The budget was like over $300million, making it one of the

(01:06:20):
most expensive movies ever, andyou can imagine the results of
that.
The story that came out aboutGhost Adventures Aaron Goodwin
is kind of crazy.
If you want to check out theTMZ story, cop says his wife
tried hiring a hitman to havehim killed.
Uh, kind of a crazy story.
I recommend checking it out.

(01:06:41):
There's a new look at monarchlegacy of monsters season two
filming has now wrapped.
Phil is very excited.
I am not ghost of tsushimashrine in japan.
Uh, has been restored by fansbut now banned tourists after an
undisclosed, unforgivable act.
I don't know what pair ofAmericans or group of Americans

(01:07:01):
ruined it for everybody, but Iknow you live here.
Harry Potter continues to makemore casting news.
The most recent one was NickFrost playing Hagrid.
There have been a couple ofannouncements Dumbledore,
mcgonagall, snape which has beenreally interesting, and again a
lot of talk whether we shouldhave this at all.

(01:07:23):
Are the castings right?
I'll leave that for furtherdiscussion.
If you missed it, marvelStudios started a live stream
with chairs Nobody probablymissed it, but to announce the
cast of the Avengers doomsdaymovie.
They just panned to a new chairevery 15 minutes and we're

(01:07:45):
pretty sure that's not all ofthem, but some of the biggest
news.
If you don't want to hear thespoilers, skip ahead, maybe like
30 seconds.
There are some very notableX-Men that have been announced
as well.
With that, the live actionlegend of zelda movie is going
to be releasing on march 26 2027in theaters.
Not much is known, but that's ahuge, huge property.

(01:08:06):
Solo leveling season 2, episode8, reached a hundred thousand
likes, surpassing the recordsset by episode six.
I bring this up because sololeveling this year alone is
causing a lot of ruckus and it'svery popular Crash Crunchyroll
servers.
Anime piracy websites are goingdown for people to watch this.
This was the most watched animein 2024.

(01:08:28):
It looks like that's going tocontinue and this is one of the
hottest things out now.
And finally, my last story.
Phil, I was wearing myassassination classroom shirt
today, so funny enough to hearthat the anime is going to
rebroadcast, but it's going torebroadcast with a new opening
and ending theme song.
This kind of hurts me a littlebit, because I love the opening

(01:08:51):
songs for this show and they hadlike a temporary band at the
time that made these when theanime originally came out.
So I'm a little disappointed tosee that maybe people that are
introduced to it for the firsttime are not going to get those
iconic opening and ending songs.
So, with that being said, paddington bear, alan richen, uh

(01:09:12):
, richen richson, yeah, alanrichen's, uh, playing batman the
electric state.
Guy's wife tried to kill him.
We have monarch legacy, amonster, harry potter, casting
marvel studio chairs, legend ofzelda, zelda movie solo leveling
and assassination classroom.
So a lot there, phil, I'll justkick it off to you if you want

(01:09:35):
to respond to anything yeah, paddington bear statue stolen.

Speaker 4 (01:09:39):
Men are arrested, uh, electric chair, uh, alan rich
in his batman.
Give it to me, uh, that I havebeen casting that guy.
He is great and I'll probablywatch reacher because he's just
so good.
Electric state.
You put two of the mostunlikable people for as far as
fan output goes, with chrispratt and millie bubby brown,
together, what do you expect tohappen?

(01:10:01):
Uh, the ghost adventure storyis, when I posted, absolutely
crazy.
Aaron is like the only goodperson on ghost adventures too,
so the fact that this happenedto him is nuts.
Monarch legacy season.
Legacy of monster, season two.
Cannot wait.
Interested to see that now thatAnna Sawai is a huge star.
If they'll see like an uptickin watchers.
Actually the the ghost ofTsushima shrine Korean tourists,

(01:10:22):
not Americans.
That was my first guest as well.
It couldn't have been.
You know, logan Paul, he's notallowed in Japan.
Nick Frost and Harry PotterSure, I don't know if I'm going
to watch that show, but okay, Iwatched pretty much all of that
live stream on and off and, yeah, and sometimes it wasn't even
15 minutes, it was longer.

(01:10:43):
So there was no cohesion as faras time.
Of the zelda movie um, again, duane the rock johnson and
scarlett johansson get ready.
Uh, solo leveling season twooutstanding assassination
classroom.
Go buy the dvds and theblu-rays if that's what they're
gonna do all right, uh, vintageany of those stories or none of

(01:11:05):
them.

Speaker 1 (01:11:06):
Any comments, uh, that you want to make?

Speaker 2 (01:11:09):
yeah, I feel really conflicted about the harry
potter revival.
Um, I I don't know.
It's not something I want tosee.
I don't necessarily think Iprobably will watch it out of
curiosity, but it's.
You know, I have a lot ofconflicting feelings about it

(01:11:30):
for many reasons.
So I don't know, I'm not, I'mnot alone in thinking that.
So, yeah, that that's really myonly big comment there.
But yeah, it's been a busymonth.
That's a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:11:44):
Yeah, discord roundups always tough.

Speaker 4 (01:11:46):
uh bridget anything, anything you want to pick out,
or uh make a comment onbaddington guys I say bring back
stoning public execution theyshould uh, they should take the
stones that were damaged fromthe bear and throw it at the man
yes, to death can I Can I justsay about the Harry Potter thing
, Because I think it's veryclear that this is also

(01:12:09):
happening because JK Rowlinghates the original cast,
especially the big three, because they're very outspoken
against her and obviouslythey're good people and they're
all very successful without her,and I think that has a lot to
do with why we are getting this.

Speaker 1 (01:12:27):
So it's.
It's interesting.
The casting is kind of been allover the place as far as
people's reactions.
I think it's a property that atsome point made sense to do it.
I think it's a little too soon, personally, but the complaint
that I hear all the time frompeople is that they they skipped

(01:12:48):
this from the book, they didn'ttake this, they did this
differently.
And I mean, if you're going tobe faithful and you're going to
really adapt it, there's alittle bit more chance to
explore stuff that hasn't beenexplored before.
And the world of Harry Potteris still an extremely
interesting and valuable pieceto the pop culture puzzle.

(01:13:08):
I mean, phil, we played theheck out of Hogwarts Legacy when
it came out, you know.
So that still had enough tooffer, from a gaming standpoint,
a TV show, I definitely thinkit could as well.
But that is the Discord Roundup, guys.
And now is the time time andthis is also for our audio
listeners where we transition toa game oh, I want to point out

(01:13:30):
one more thing, because I didpurchase a couple things this
month.

Speaker 4 (01:13:33):
Um, I've been reading the new hunger games book, so
sunrise and the reap, I've beenlistening to it and I read.
I've been reading it as welland it is very good.
The movie is already inpre-production, so we'll see how
they go as far as casting goes.
It's about Haymitch's game, soif you guys aren't familiar with
that, it's the 50th uh hungergames and it is very good so far
.
And this might be a clichepurchase, eric, but it went on

(01:13:53):
sale for $7 on Amazon and Ibought it.
It's a copy of the killing jokeand I just thought it was a
have uh in my collection.
Nice, so yeah, seven dollarsand come on, I'm gonna not get
it.
So, yeah, but uh, for those ofyou listening, uh, like this is
uh vintage.
What did you want?

Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
oh sorry, go ahead oh , I was just gonna say like uh,
I really like the killing jokeand it's pretty popular.
That's a pretty good price.
So yeah, we saw it in theatersum.

Speaker 4 (01:14:22):
We saw it in theaters a few years ago.
No-transcript 2019.
So, and it was a good time.
Yeah, very, very cool experience.
So when I saw that it went onsale, shout out to ign deals.
Uh, because I havenotifications on for them on
twitter.
So, yeah, but for our audioonly listeners.
This is a good uh point.
If you'd like to head on overto youtube to watch the visual

(01:14:43):
portion of the episode becauseof these games do have a visual
aspect to them I will read outthe answers, but there is
sometimes and I edited this isone part I do edit because
sometimes there can be somesilence, but for our players,
our guests, as well as eric, you'll need to pull up your
mobile phone and we will bedoing some Kahoot.

(01:15:04):
Eric did kind of rough.
Well, honestly, all of ourguests other than Kate kind of
struggled with Kahoot.
She killed it last month.
So let's see how this monthgoes.
We're going to do two.
This one is here is the QR codeIf you want to just do that and

(01:15:25):
the pin.
Has anyone?
Oh, vintage disappeared?

Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
sorry, my light went out.

Speaker 3 (01:15:32):
I'm like what happened.

Speaker 4 (01:15:34):
Bridget or Vintage?
Have you played Kahoot beforeat like school or at a at an
office situation?

Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
yeah, okay when I went to schools, we didn't have
computers and I've never workedon this job in my life.

Speaker 1 (01:15:47):
I used to walk to school you're really, you're
really not sending yourself.

Speaker 4 (01:15:54):
Well so for to give anybody that's never listened
before, as well as our guests.
If you don't know how kahootworks, though, the question will
be on my screen, so you'll needto look up.
Hereoot works, though.
The question will be on myscreen, so you'll need to look
up here for the question, andthen the prompts will be on your
phone.
There's a couple of differentones.
There is true or false.
There's multiple choice.
There is a slider where youhave to move this um, a little

(01:16:17):
slider, um across a bunch ofnumbers and you'll see what the
question is.
There is one where you pin youranswer on the screen as well,
and I oh.
And then there's one you haveto put things in chronological
order.
That one has been a lot of fun, because no one gets it right,
so we'll see how it goes.
You can change your avatar, solet me know when everyone's good

(01:16:37):
with their avatar.

Speaker 1 (01:16:39):
Yeah, I'm going to need a couple minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:16:40):
Eric, this is his favorite part of any game we
play.
It's not as many as Factile orJeopardy, which is why I think
he doesn't like this as much.
There aren't as many charactersto choose from, so this is a
millennial Kahoot.
So we'll see how this one goesand then the other one.
Well, you guys will see.
I won't tell you what it is,even though you probably know
already.
But is everybody?

(01:17:03):
What is this Elvis brain?
Oh, okay, is everybody okay?
Bridget went with rabbitinstead of cat, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
Yeah, oh look at this eagle it's Sam Eagle Sam.

Speaker 4 (01:17:14):
Eagle, this is like if AI was asked Okay well.

Speaker 3 (01:17:21):
A bird with a pacifier is the most wild thing.

Speaker 4 (01:17:25):
All right, that feels feels right it's 15 questions,
so we'll we'll see how this goes.
We locked the game.
Everybody ready?
Yeah, all right, it's soexcited.
All right, let's go.
Let's start a kahoot by thewait for a podcast.
I do not want this to be fullscreen.

(01:17:45):
There we go.
Millennial Kahoot, here we go.
First question Finish thisiconic line from the 2004 Mean
Girls On Wednesdays, we wearwhat.
On Wednesdays, we wear what.
For those of you listening, mean Girls 2004.
Hope nobody gets this wrong.

(01:18:05):
Okay, great, great, good litmustest to see how this was.

Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
See how that one was going to go.
Eric just puts in any othercolor.
It's like they're girls.

Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
Correct.
On Wednesdays we wear pink.
All right Scoreboard.
You also get more points thequicker you answer.

Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
Yeah, I didn't know it, but I guess, I said I put
punk.

Speaker 4 (01:18:33):
I wish that had come up on here.
So, all right.
Next question we have a quiz,so multiple choice.
What's the name of thisdinosaur that the rug rats are
obsessed with?
Godzilla, reptar, sharp toothor rexy?
All right, well done, well done.
Everybody got that right.
That is reptar you see phil.

Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
These.
These are nice beginningquestions, unlike the last one
where you threw me off withjonathan oh, that's, I've heard
about that.

Speaker 4 (01:19:03):
Yeah, yeah, I should put that question in every
single month.

Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
And make I'll pick Jonathan every time.

Speaker 4 (01:19:09):
Alright, eric's still on the board, but we have a
close game here.
Eric is in first, followed byBridget and then Vintage, but
everybody is within about 70points of each other.
I'm trying to be more.
Oh, let's do a puzzle.
Put these Pirates of theCaribbean movies in the order of
their release.
Put them in a release order.
So for again, audio onlylisteners.

(01:19:31):
We have the first four Piratesof the Caribbean movies.
Our participants need to putthem in the order in which they
were released.

Speaker 3 (01:19:40):
I definitely got this wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:19:41):
All right Okay.

Speaker 3 (01:19:42):
Everybody got it right.
I'm so thrilled, dang.

Speaker 4 (01:19:46):
The answer is the Curse of the Black Pearl, first
followed by Dead Man's Chest AtWorld's End and On Stranger
Tides.
I don't know if it's a hot take, because I know people love the
first one.
I think Dead Man's Chest is thebest one, the best Pirates
movie period.
I know it ends on a hugecliffhanger, but it's my
favorite.

Speaker 2 (01:20:04):
I really like the action sequence when they're on
the wheels and they're likefighting.
Is that the second one?
Okay?

Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
yeah, is that the I?

Speaker 1 (01:20:12):
know, yeah, that is the second one, was it?

Speaker 4 (01:20:13):
the third.
Which one?
The wheels?

Speaker 2 (01:20:19):
I think it's oh gosh, it's been forever since I've
seen them.

Speaker 4 (01:20:21):
I thought that was I was thinking when they're both
when they're in those, whenthey're prisoners in the ball,
but they're not fighting there.
That's the second one, though, okay, dead Man's Chest is also
the first one I saw in theaters,so I saw Black Pearl at home
with a friend.

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
I remember us sticking around not knowing
really what after credits were.

Speaker 4 (01:20:40):
No, not at all.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
And then when?

Speaker 4 (01:20:42):
you rewatch Dead Man's Chest, you clearly see
Barbossa's legs just stickingout because the monkey goes to
go see him.

Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
That was a big deal.

Speaker 4 (01:20:52):
Yeah, at World's End really good.
And then on Stranger Tides, you're like, oh shit, that was
like one of the first movies werealized, eric, that we're like,
oh no Sequels can be bad.

Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
What do you mean?
Studio interference, sequelscan be bad what do you mean?

Speaker 4 (01:21:08):
studio interference?
Alright, true or false is, ohsorry.
Scoreboard Eric's still in thelead, but again very close.
Oh, but we have some.
Yeah, so Eric's still up top.
I feel like we should all have.
True or false?
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Airnever won a primetime Emmy award
, true or false?
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air neverwon a primetime Emmy Award, true
or false?
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?
True, yep, that is true.

(01:21:29):
The only things they were evenever nominated for were things
like behind-the-scenes stuff,which I thought was crazy.
Yeah, so all right.
Scoreboard again Everyone'sdoing very well.
Look at these points.
Look at these points.
Totals All right.
Next one how much money?
We have a slider.
You'll slide your number hereacross the board.
How much money did RobertDowney Jr make while playing

(01:21:52):
Iron man?
It is somewhere between $400and $500 million.
How much did RDJ bank byplaying Tony Stark?
A lot is also a good answer.
Alright, let's see.
See, oh, you guys went high, you guys all went high.
Oops, uh-oh, it is 435 million.

(01:22:17):
Uh, still a good amount, butnobody within range to get any
points here.
So I hate the slider.
The slider is tough.
The slider is one of thetougher ones.
It's fun though yeah, all right,no movement on the scoreboard.
Everybody got that wrong.
Uh, audience, just so next one.
Here we have a type your answer.

(01:22:38):
Hayley williams recently statedthat this album was actually
paramore's worst.
Which one did she recently saywas her worst?

Speaker 1 (01:22:49):
Respectfully, this should have been a multiple
choice one.

Speaker 3 (01:22:51):
Yeah, I'm like I have Respectfully.

Speaker 4 (01:22:56):
I just did a multiple choice.
Oh no, you know, yeah, Iprobably could have fit one in,
now that I'm looking at thelayout.
Hayley Williams made some newsrecently on social media.
She said this album wasParamore's worst.
Did somebody answer?

(01:23:18):
Oh, I thought somebody answered, right.
I was like oh shit.

Speaker 1 (01:23:22):
Did someone just not answer?
Or did we get two buts my thingtimed out?
I think I got out.
Oh shit, Did someone just?

Speaker 2 (01:23:24):
not answer, or did we get two buts.

Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
I said buts.

Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
My thing timed out.

Speaker 4 (01:23:27):
Oh, okay, I think.

Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
I got out.

Speaker 4 (01:23:28):
Yeah, riot, which was recently named one of the most
influential rock albums of alltime, and that's when Hailey had
commented on it that it wasactually their worst album, but
it was essential in getting themobviously on the map.
So, all right, right, nomovement there again.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
Feedback received broke my streak for no reason.
No, you got the last one wrongthat's tough next question, pin
the answer.

Speaker 4 (01:24:00):
which one of these districts is katniss everdeen
from?
Which district is katnissEverdeen from?
Which district is Katniss from?
And we have a map on the screenfor those of y'all that are
listening when is Katniss fromthe Hunger Games?

Speaker 2 (01:24:16):
It's been a long time .

Speaker 3 (01:24:17):
I don't know if it's right.

Speaker 4 (01:24:20):
What'd you say, Eric?

Speaker 1 (01:24:21):
I said this one's cool.
This is a new one.

Speaker 4 (01:24:24):
No, I did this one last week the map one.

Speaker 1 (01:24:27):
Yeah, not a map, but who would you pin?
It just didn't look like a map, yeah All right.

Speaker 2 (01:24:31):
Who did?

Speaker 4 (01:24:31):
12?
.

Speaker 3 (01:24:32):
Damn it Me.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Good for you, I got it right.

Speaker 4 (01:24:36):
District 12.
District 9's week in an episodeand we hadn't thought of that
movie in years.
And now it's come up twice in aweek.

Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
Have you seen Chappie ?

Speaker 4 (01:24:53):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (01:24:54):
That's the one with Hugh Jackman right.

Speaker 4 (01:24:56):
Why is Hugh Jackman in so many robot movies?
I?

Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
don't know, he was in a robot movie.
Oh yeah, the Rock'em, sock'emRobots.

Speaker 4 (01:25:02):
Great film, excellent film.
Some oh yeah, the Rock'em,sock'em robots.
Yeah, great film, excellentfilm.

Speaker 3 (01:25:06):
Some would say All right, we'll have some movement
here, yeah, baby Bridget, in thelead, I'm coming for the top.

Speaker 4 (01:25:12):
Bridget in the lead, still very close though Eric
with 3747 and Vintage with 3648.
Next question, a puzzle Placethese Disney World theme parks,
disney World and Orlando, inorder of their opening date, so
which one opened first at thetop and which one is the most
recent at the bottom?

(01:25:34):
So, of course, listener, theoptions are Hollywood Studios,
epcot, magic Kingdom or AnimalKingdom, and we are putting them
in order of what was openedfirst and what was opened most
recently.
My favorite place on Earth, disney World.
Waiting on one more?

(01:25:59):
Okay, all right, one of you gotit right.

Speaker 1 (01:26:02):
Magic.

Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
Kingdom, epcot Hollywood Studios and then
Animal Kingdom is the correctanswer.
Who got that rightmer?
Magic kingdom, epcot hollywoodstudios and then animal kingdom
is the correct answer.
Who got that right?

Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
I think, I think, oh, is that you, I guess I guess I
did correct.

Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
Yeah, I'll tell you on your phone I switched.

Speaker 1 (01:26:15):
I switched animal kingdom in hollywood.

Speaker 4 (01:26:16):
Yeah I remember being a kid when hollywood or when
animal kingdom opened like itwas a big deal, yeah, so it's
also got the best ride to therapids ride.

Speaker 3 (01:26:24):
You know there's no line, oh yeah it's my favorite
ride.

Speaker 4 (01:26:28):
Uh, they're eventually gonna shut that down
and turn it into like I don'tknow what's a bad disney movie
that's gonna get a land yeah,it's gonna get a land, so all
right, let's check thescoreboard.
Uh-oh, up to 5,200.
5,250.

Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
I wasn't alive when Disney opened, bridget was there
.
Walt Disney and I went to highschool together Crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:26:56):
Alright, we have a true or false.
Next, Monsters Inc won thefirst Oscar for Best Animated
Picture in 2002.
This award did not exist until2002.
Was Monsters Inc the firstwinner?
True or false?
False, that's correct, it wasShrek.
Shrek won the first BestAnimated Picture Oscar in 2002.

Speaker 2 (01:27:17):
It's wild to think about, but Shrek was so popular
when it came out.

Speaker 4 (01:27:22):
I also think Monsters Inc is a little overrated.
Alright, when it came out yeah, yeah, I also think monsters inc
a little overrated.
Yeah, yeah, all right, everybody got that right, but
bridge is still in the lead.
Next up we have another slider.
Nope, just kidding, I waslooking at the wrong slide.
What movie is this?
What movie is this?

(01:27:43):
For audio?
Only audience.
There is a picture slowlyrevealing itself on the screen.
What movie is showing?
Eric was locked in, so I thinkhe might have gotten this.

Speaker 2 (01:27:59):
I got it.

Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
The whole time I was like please don't be Rudy,
Please don't be Rudy.
Three answers Football.
I remember the Titans.
Two of you guys remember thetitans who put?

Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
football at least put like friday night lights.

Speaker 3 (01:28:15):
I got that answer recently like that's also, but
football is crazy, footballstuff that's okay.

Speaker 4 (01:28:20):
Remember the titans great movie, eric, have you ever
seen that clip it?
It's another podcast.
They were talking aboutRemember the Titans.
It were these British guys andthey were like talking about how
, at the same time, in the sameschool district, there were
other schools that also hadblack players.
So obviously in this it'd makeit seem like they're the only
school.
And the guy was like, oh, youhate to hear that, not that

(01:28:43):
other schools had black players.
I gotta find the clip.
It's so, it's so funny.
Remember the titans, theclassic great movie.
Let's check the scoreboard, okay eric and vintage closing
the gap there.
Now we have a slider how manygrammy awards has beyonce won?

(01:29:05):
So how many grammys has won?
I have the numbers set between25 and 40, because how many
grammys has beyonce won?
I wish I had changed this tothe picture where she's holding
like nine uh which is crazy, allright you should have done the
shocked beyonce.

Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
She's like, oh shit, all right, you guys went pretty
low there.

Speaker 4 (01:29:23):
Theyonce.
Yeah, she's like oh shit, allright, you guys went pretty low
there.
The answer is 35.
She's got 35.
Let's see if 31 is close enoughfor some points.
Nope, so nobody got any pointson that one.
That's okay.
Slider sucks.
He's not good at it.

Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
Get better, get good are the only person Kate was so
good at it.

Speaker 4 (01:29:45):
It was crazy.
I don't think that should count.
It was crazy how good she wasat slider.
Yeah, she got one exactly rightone time.

Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
Now you've had like six other examples of this not
going well, and I think Kate'sis an anomaly.

Speaker 4 (01:29:58):
I'm going to keep doing it.
I'm going to keep doing it, allright.
Next question we have amultiple choice.
Looking at the scoreboard, nobody got that right, so no
movement.
Let's do multiple choice.
Next here which of these citiesis not visited in either the
Last of Us, part 1 or 2?
Boston, pittsburgh, denver orSeattle?

(01:30:20):
So which one of these citiesdid they not go to in the last
of us, part one or part two?
Boston, pittsburgh, denver,seattle.
All right, two people pickSeattle.
Denver, I assume was Eric.

Speaker 1 (01:30:37):
Seattle was second game, right, yep.

Speaker 4 (01:30:39):
Seattle.
They go to Seattle.

Speaker 1 (01:30:41):
Seattle was the first thing that came to my mind.
I was, I was sure.
And then I was like Bostonmakes sense.
Pittsburgh I wasn't sure about,but I was like Denver doesn't
sound right.

Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
Yeah, I think about Boston first and then probably
Seattle.
They're very briefly inPittsburgh.
But yeah, denver, no Denver.
I'm sure they've maybe passedthrough it, but not in the game
itself.
So, all right, eric.
Well, hold on, let's go to thescoreboard first.
Oh shit, eric is in the lead.
I clicked denver so fast.
Yeah, you get a lot of pointsfor the quicker.

(01:31:11):
So this question was in lastmonth's kahoot and I have
decided it's going to come backevery single month until I run
out of characters.
Pin your answer.
Which of these fast and furiouscharacters?

Speaker 1 (01:31:24):
is named ramsay, he could be anybody.

Speaker 4 (01:31:29):
Well, you know who cypher is, hopefully I forgot no
which of these fast and furiouscharacters is named ramsay who
the fuck looks like a ramsay.

Speaker 1 (01:31:42):
I'm gonna go this guy .

Speaker 3 (01:31:44):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
I'm like I've seen all of these movies.
Because Cypher I thought was aguy.

Speaker 3 (01:31:50):
Oh no.

Speaker 1 (01:31:51):
One of the biggest actresses on the show, I'm just
guessing.

Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
I have no idea.

Speaker 3 (01:31:56):
Oh, I got it wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:31:58):
No, bummer, nope, no one got it right.
All right, ramsey is here.

Speaker 3 (01:32:07):
Oh, the hacker.

Speaker 4 (01:32:08):
Yep, she's the hacker .
That's Ramsey.

Speaker 3 (01:32:11):
One of you picked.

Speaker 4 (01:32:12):
Owen Shaw.
That's Owen Shaw.
I don't know who the fuck thisis.
That's why I went for him.

Speaker 1 (01:32:18):

Looking at the reviews, I'mlike these people are not
Pokemon fans.
Why are they reviewing themovie?
So Pokemon Forever could be bad.
I don't know, I've never seenit, but the first movie is good.

Speaker 1 (01:54:11):
I mean, it's not the worst thing you've ever seen.

Speaker 4 (01:54:13):
No, we've seen worse movies.
Beaker, yeah, which one's?
The Power of Us?
Power of Us is one thatreleased in 2019.
It's a newer one, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:54:23):
I haven't seen that one.

Speaker 4 (01:54:24):
Yeah, heard, it's good.
All right, podium, third placewe have Vintage, oh yeah.
Second place, Bridget, who didbetter than I think she probably
expected.

Speaker 1 (01:54:36):
The eagles are coming .

Speaker 4 (01:54:40):
The Bridget, who did better than I think she probably
expected.
The eagles are coming.
Oh my gosh, let's go.
At least these two are happy.
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:54:48):
This is a serial killer this man has skeletons in
his closet yeah, I don't likeit, I do not like it.

Speaker 4 (01:54:57):
So there we go.
I didn't get to do my poke hoot.

Speaker 2 (01:55:03):
I'm sorry, uh at uh.
Now you keep trying andknocking with today so thanks
for being my test dummies.

Speaker 4 (01:55:09):
Uh, I know that was rough.
I appreciate y'all poweringthrough uh, but yeah, there we
go.
Eric is on top, uh for this one.
We always bring people back, soI guess we'll get another
chance at it later and thenmaybe we'll do Factile instead,
since you guys have never doneJeopardy, so maybe I'll do that
when you guys return.
Unless you hated this and younever come back again.

Speaker 1 (01:55:32):
So we'll see how it goes.
To be fair, Bridget can't comeback until she's watched it.

Speaker 4 (01:55:37):
Oh, that's also fair, that is also true.
You also have time.

Speaker 1 (01:55:41):
You can actually temporarily kick her out of the
Discord and just kind of like, remove all friends.

Speaker 3 (01:55:46):
I have to show proof.
I have to answer like a quiz.
Revoke.
Honestly, it is kind of a timesensitive thing, I'll make a
goofy movie.

Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
Okay, not only that, like we're supposed to record
with you very soon.

Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
I know.
So if you don't watch it.

Speaker 1 (01:55:57):
There's a chance we don't show up.

Speaker 3 (01:55:59):
Or I won't be there, and then Vintage can just do it.
Oh yeah, there you go Well.

Speaker 1 (01:56:04):
Vintage kind of gets punished by association.
Oh yeah, Damn, oh my God.

Speaker 4 (01:56:10):
So we're going to change the group chat to Best
Friends 3, eva, and we're goingto keep going okay, that hurts,
you should probably just watchit tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:56:18):
Honestly, after this I was like I have to watch
Smackdown it's an hour.

Speaker 4 (01:56:25):
It's an hour 16.
You can fit it in.
Watch both at the same time.

while where everything weplanned went off without a hitch
.
So and that includes afterstuff, like we always plan, like
, oh, we're gonna go to the rubybeach party, we're gonna go to
underbelly, and something goeswrong, like one time there was
like a really bad storm and wedidn't go or we were just too

(01:59:29):
tired and everything went offwithout a hitch.
I mean, getting all thosepeople at leaderboard was crazy,
like it was.
That was so much fun, it was ablast um, yeah, basically
bullying people out of thekaraoke room was something I
will remember forever.
So, no, we uh, we were veryexcited to to bring you guys in
