May.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Yeah, always a lot of fun and, as we just talked
about in the pre-show, we arerecording here on the evening of
May 27th, which means there area couple days before this
episode comes out on Friday, the30th, and something crazy is
going to happen in the world ofpop culture.
Last month, it was GTA 6 beingpushed.
A couple of months ago, aswe've mentioned, it was Robert
Downey Jr returning to the MCU.

(01:18):
So, listeners, you're welcome.
Something crazy is going tohappen here in the next couple
of days and to our future selves.
That's what you get forrecording a little bit too early
, so it's going to be a lot offun.
We have some returning guestshere that I will introduce.
I will just go in the order ofmy screen Josh Portillo, voice

(01:38):
actor extraordinaire.
So good to have you back here, josh, and see you right before
bold, as we are just on the cuspof getting to spend the weekend
together.
Thank you so much for beinghere tonight, and how are you?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
doing Good.
Thank you for having me, phil.
Thank you for having me, eric.
It's been pretty good.
I'm just glad to be here.
I'm just glad to be here, sosuper excited to see you and
catch up as well.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
And our other guest here rounding out our um, our
episode is Sid caught redheaded.
Sid, thank you so much also forbeing here.
We've gotten to hang out withyou quite a bit throughout the
year, as far as just evenplaying games and stuff as well,
which has been great.
So how are you?
It's good to see you, and areyou recovering from momo con
sounds like a good time hello,I'm doing very well.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Thank you for having me.
Uh, yeah, I'm doing prettydecent, kind of still recovering
just from need to decompress, still from Momo.
But it was a really good con.
So, yeah, just a little bit ofdecompression time and I'll be
back.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Yeah, that after those few days after a con are
like you just need to.
That's why we always take theday off after right, eric.
We always just take that Mondayand we're like let's do nothing
today.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I needed that and I didn't do a lot of that
yesterday, unfortunately, buttoday, or rather tonight, I'm
going to have that me time thatI need.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
There we are, there.
We are so very, very excited toget into this episode.
If you never listen to anepisode of what Did I Miss, this
is our most unhinged andfreeform episode that we do.
Everybody has selected some popculture stories to share from
the previous month and then weplay a fun game During the
stories.
You can certainly listen to theepisode like you normally do on

(03:14):
whatever podcast app of choice, but when we get to the game,
there is a visual element, so itis recommended to go over to
our YouTube page and finish upthe episode there if you'd like.
Otherwise, I will do my best toexplain to the listener what is
happening on the game.
But, eric, anything else weneed to go over before we get to
returning your favorite part ofthis episode, r.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
R R no dice, r I P dice.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
One time thing.
Yeah, until the next time theycome off RIP dice that was a
one-time thing.
Yeah, until the next time theycome on.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Yeah, no.
So if you don't know the rulesand I think Sid has been a part
of what Did I Miss Before, soshe might have an idea.
Josh, this is your first time.
So for everybody that doesn'tknow, we spin the wheel to
figure out the order of thestories we're going to tell.
Could we do it more civilly?
Could we come up with a betterprocess?
We could, but we won't.
So here we are, we're going tospin that wheel.

(04:08):
Now, the way we're going to dothis is we're all going to be
unmuted in a second and thenwe're all going to say, after I
count down, we're going to sayspin that wheel.
So I'm going to say three, two,one and in that same cadence
spin that wheel, phil.
You would think we wouldn'thave to keep doing this, but

(04:31):
here we are.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
This is like over a year we've been doing this
episode and the instructions arestill necessary.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
It's been tough.
So, Sid, I'm going to have youcome on off and then, Josh, are
you guys ready to spin thatwheel?
Absolutely.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Okay, yes.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Let's do this.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
All right, let's try it Three, two, one.

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Spin that wheel.
That was actually pretty solid, that was pretty good, that was
really good, that was solid, oh.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
And a four?
No, did I go first last time Idid this?
I don't remember, I can't.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
I'm not 100% sure.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
Usually it ends up where me and Phil go last every
time.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah, so that's just how it works out.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
All right, Sid.
Well, you are up first.
What did we miss in May 2025?
You?

Speaker 2 (05:23):
are up first.
What did we miss in May 2025?
I kind of don't know which oneI want to talk about.
I was kind of hoping my optionswould get whittled down a
little bit.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Now you have the choice of any of the ones you
selected.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Which one do I most want to talk about?
I don't know.
I guess I kind of have a littlebit more to say on this one.
So my story is really just likethe whole Randy Pitchford thing
about the.
You know, we, we love, we love80 games.
Right, guys, love, love a good80 game, I guess.

(05:52):
So, um, just basically you knowhim, him addressing how real
fans would, would love to payfor borderlands 4 and while it's
80 dollars, I'm just likethat's one thing that's really
important to me because I admitI'm like a little bit frugal
when it comes to buying gamesand I've not really been a
person to buy a lot of gameslike as soon as they come out,

(06:13):
just because they usually areexpensive.
So I like to wait.
But I was kind of actuallylooking forward to Borderlands 4
and then hearing that it's $80now, similar to some other
things we've heard, like aboutthe Switch and everything and
all those games as well startingto be $80, just like I don't
know, now that I've beenstreaming a lot lately, I'm just
so loathe to start paying thatmuch for a game brand new.

(06:37):
I remember the days.
I remember the days when theywere maybe 50 max and I just
want to go back so bad, but yeah, just to days when they were
like maybe 50 max, and I justwant to go back so bad, but yeah
, just, um, guess, to kind ofget a little bit more into it.
Maybe, unless I don't know, Idon't really know what else,
just I don't know.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
I.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
I hate it so much that that's.
That's what's happening.
And the reason I wanted to kindof talk about this one, I guess,
over the other one more so, isjust because I like we can't be
expected, I don't know.
The whole Randy Pitchford thingspecifically to those who may
have missed it, which I guess islike the whole point of me
talking about it is, um, that hesaid if you're a real fan,
you'll find a way, and that'slike something that to have

(07:16):
somebody say that is just likewhen we're all struggling
financially in some fashionthese days um, not to get any
kind of politics into anything,of course, but just with the
whole overarching stressmonetarily, that people are
having to be able to saysomething like if you're a real
fan, you'll support and buy thisgame, is just mind-blowing.

(07:37):
Not even bringing into the factthat, um, the people of Baldur's
Gate, like the ones that didBaldur's Gate 3 and stuff, which
I'm not exactly sure who saidit, but like they were like,
yeah, even if our game had been$80, we still wouldn't have told
our fans that they would find away, because that like is going
to involve skipping a mealpotentially, or like not paying
for something that is alegitimate necessity, or like

(08:00):
are you asking your fans to missrent?
Like, what do you want frompeople if they can't find $80 to
buy your game?
It's like kind of wild, I guess.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Yeah, I have the tweet up here.
He was responding to somebodytalking about the game being $80
.
He said you are the CEO, youhave some say with the price
when it comes to your publisher.
And he replied A, not my call.
B, if you're a real fan, you'llfind a way to make it happen.
My local game store had StarFlight for Sega Genesis for $80
in 1991 when I was just out ofhigh school working minimum wage

(08:31):
at an ice cream parlor inPrismo Beach, and I found a way
to make it happen.
So, yeah, we've kind of alreadyhad this conversation a little
bit, Eric, with like GTA, whereGTA is like trending to be $100.
And people are going to paythat.
And I am also the same way, Sid.
I like, I am frugal with thegame.
Like, if I want something, if Iwant that game right away, I

(08:53):
will make a poor financialdecision and I will buy that
game.
Case in point example here,Eric, I have purchased WWE 2K25
like on release week and we haveplayed it three times and we
know what we want to do withthat game eventually.
But right now there's so muchother stuff going on.
I could have easily waited forthat game to go on sale in
November, but I I have itbecause I wanted to play it.
So, yeah, let me.

(09:15):
Let's throw it to you first,Josh, what do you think about
this?
Because it's very tone deaf, for sure, and Sid, you made a
very good point about like thiscould mean somebody missing
something very, very importantto them.
So, like, what do you thinkabout you know, these CEOs
coming out and saying like, oh,you'll figure it out?

Speaker 1 (09:31):
It's just, it's really I mean, this may be a
very strong word, but inhumane, because it is.
It is a very hard time, like, for example, I live with two of
my friends from high schoolright, thank goodness, right,
you know, we have a good, youknow relationship where we can
all live together.
We have to do that.

(09:52):
Two of them work full-time jobsand still have we still have to
group up in three.
That should show you how muchthe economy is at right now.
Also, like, just with howeverything is, you know how
expensive things are.
The last thing I want to thinkabout is buying an $80 game from
a franchise that I really love.

(10:12):
See, it's like a duality.
It's like I want to buy fromyou but I'm struggling right now
to even get groceries to pay myrent.
Do I have to get another sidegig?
Because for me, vo is myfull-time job, so it's just like
, okay, I could afford rent.
Awesome, I can't get.

(10:32):
I mean, I don't know how muchit is, but I can't get Doom of
the Dark Ages right now becauseit's 60, or I can't think if
it's 70.
I don't know, but even 60 rightnow, I'm very.
I have to agree with Sid.
I miss the days when games were50 and some of the games I liked
for 40.
Like I remember, all the Jackand Daxter games were $40.

(10:54):
Um, all the Sly Cooper gameswere $40.
Ratchet and Clank was $40.
Um, and those were big games,uh, and so you know, know, uh, I
don't want to sound like abroken record, but I mean it's
the same narrative.
The economy is pretty bad, uh,groceries go up and down, gas
goes up and down, but it's stillpretty bad.

(11:15):
Um, wherever you live I mean, Ilive in florida, so you know
some areas are very expensive um, and you know you have to shack
up with other people you can'thave your own, your own space.
So we're already sacrificingcertain things in our lives that
you know, just to live.
And for somebody who has power, who has money, who has status,

(11:39):
who has all these things thatprobably we're all working for
in our own way, in our own field, say that to find a way to buy
our dang game.
That's pretty selfish, dude,pretty selfish.
I can't get behind that.
And I'm in your field, I'm avoice actor and I don't respect

(11:59):
you.
So you can call me dramatic, but I mean I'm not going to
spend $80.
That's just me.
That's just me.
Even if it's Metal Gear SolidDelta, which I have been waiting
for, I'm probably not going tobuy it at release date.
That's just me, because I justhave to save up for other stuff,

(12:23):
for, you know, essential livingstuff personally.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
But yeah, yeah, that's what I think.
Yeah, and this is like totallydifferent from I wouldn't say
totally different, but it's.
It's totally different fromremember when the guy who who
worked on Days Gone, eric, waslike, well, you guys should have
bought the game when it cameout instead of when it was on,
you know, playstation premium orwhatever.
This is a little bit different.
So, yeah, yeah, it's a lot ofdifferent, like because I

(12:54):
thought of that when it came tomy, because he was like, well,
why didn't you guys buy the gamewhen it came out?
Like maybe because it wasn't,because it was broken and yeah,
because it wasn't anyway.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
Yeah, I think for Borderlands, like it's that
interesting conversation.
It's the parallel to GTA.
You could look at Nintendo, who's basically the first one to
make the move to $90 pricepoints for fucking Mario Kart.
You know what I mean.
Like it just doesn't make a lotof sense when there are games
coming out.

(13:21):
You know, last year Helldivers2 came out at 40 bucks and was a
blast and people are stillplaying it right now.
You have Claire Obscura sellingfor $50 and that's a game of
the year contender.
So there are so many examplesbetween all of that that you
could kind of point to.
And I think the biggest thingis that you go support those
games.

(13:41):
I mean, he's not necessarilywrong, like if you want that
game bad enough.
Kind of like what you mentioned, phil, like if they start
selling all of the sports gamesat 80, 90 price points, you're
still there.
That because you have a problemand it's it's time that we.
We acknowledge that.
But as far as, like most people, yeah, they're gonna make their

(14:03):
decisions.
That core fan base, on theother hand, that's why Nintendo
can make a power play like theydid, because they've got a fan
base behind it.
Does Borderlands have that?

Speaker 4 (14:14):
CBD.
I don't know it doesn't anymore, but it did At one point.
Post Borderlands 2, itdefinitely did.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah, and I mean I see, you know people stream
Borderlands 3.
I've seen Sid play, you know Iget people still love it.
But I don't know Somethingabout just the toxicity of the
comment and just the privilegeof the comment is off-putting
for sure.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Is there a game?
If it's not, you know whetherit's Borderlands or whatever.
Is there a game that you guyswould you guys pay?
I guess we'll start that offfirst.
Sid, would you pay $100 for aGTA 6 or what is that game that
you would pay $100 for?
Because we've already talkedabout it, eric, I'm going to pay
$100 for GTA 6, if it's goingto be $100.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
It's going to be $100 .

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Yeah, I will pay for it, but you got a game that you
would do that for.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I don't know.
I really don't know, like,because, like I, I got
Blueprints like the day it cameout because I was so excited for
it and that was like what a $30game and I know I'm going to
sink so many hours of it Like Istill haven't finished it and

(15:25):
I'm nowhere near to like findingall the stuff and I'm like this
is a $30 game that can dosomething this amazing and just
be like such a because like mywhole community got into it,
like they were like I want toplay this game.
So like I can't watch youbecause I need to play this game
for myself.
So it was like really excitingand like that that to me, was
such a huge game that I haven'tlike felt that excited about on
on release in so long.
So I'm like, if I can be andremain as frugal as I am, I

(15:48):
really don't know there's a gameout there.
I really don't.
I can't think of anything offthe top of my head that like
would really sell me on wantingto get it as soon as it comes
out, like at all, and also notto not to dive back into.
But it's not.
Like I don't think that gamesaren't worth it because, like,
obviously, things are going tocontinue to like increase in
price and I get that it's goingto happen.
It's definitely much more aboutthe comment, because I

(16:08):
understand there's a lot ofbodies that work on these things
and then make this cometogether, so it totally makes
sense in that respect.
But yeah, it's just definitelylike the, the the tonal issue of
like the way they said whatthey said.
But yeah, um, I really don'tthink there is a game,
especially because I can find agame just as good, if not better
, to sink time into and it's alot cheaper.

Speaker 4 (16:28):
Or multiple games.

Speaker 2 (16:29):
Multiple games.
I've found many a good gamehere recently.

Speaker 4 (16:32):
Josh, what about you?
You said you know Metal Gear, you mentioned that, but anything
I did.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
And I would but.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
I have to be happy about it.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
I have to be frugal about it because, again, there's
other stuff that I have to saveup for I, because, um, I mean
not to get personal all of asudden, but, um, we didn't grow
up, you know, wealthy.
Uh, we, we struggled a lot.
Um, our house got foreclosed,uh, along with everybody else,
uh, back in 2008.
Um, and that freaked me theheck out.
Um, and uh, you know it, just,it was a struggle, it's been, it

(17:13):
was a struggle, uh, growing upwith money.
So any type of money that I get,you know I, I get kind of
paranoid with it a little bit, where you know I'm saving, I'm
saving, I'm saving and you knoweven I, you know being an adult
and splurging and getting thatgood game, you know I, just for

(17:35):
me, I get kind of like I feelguilty Because it's like you
should feel you should be saving.
You know you're an adult now.
You know Um, but yeah, like, even when Metal Gear Solid,
delta comes out, I am notgetting it, uh, when it, you
know when it releases, because Ijust got other stuff on my mind

(17:59):
.
Um, but yeah, if anything, that's the one game I mean.
I mean doom, the dark ages, Iwanted to get that.
But um, even that, see that's.
I think that's $60, which itshould be $60.
That's a, that's a good game.
Um, I, I'm not even gettingthat right now.
I'm just now playing doometernal, if that tells you

(18:21):
anything.

Speaker 4 (18:22):
Um, so, but yeah, metal gear metal gear for sure,
and that's the thing too, like, like I just alluded to, like a
hundred dollars can get youthree or four really good games,
even because the library for alot of people is so backed up
there there is so much.
So like for him to say thatlike, well, no, we'll just play
it later.
2k games go on sale on steamall the time, so we'll just wait

(18:48):
you out.
So no, we, yeah, we'll find away in a couple months.
So, yeah, not, uh, not a greatlook there, eric.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
so no, especially and the one thing to mention too.
Like uh josh brought up, uhdoom sid brought up blueprints
and I brought up clear obscure, those are three games on game
pass that you could go paymonthly for and get.
And game pass last year, maybethe last two years you could
argue, has not been worth itthis year this year it's nuts,

(19:17):
nuts.
So definitely worth, uh, worth ashot, but all right, um, we've
got another story to tell and inorder to do that, the only way
we can do that is through thewheel, unfortunately, there's no
other way.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
There's no other way.
There's no other way to do this.

Speaker 3 (19:33):
So, sid, josh, if you guys are ready, I'm going to
count down and then we're goingto go spin that wheel.
Let's go for it.
We got three, two, one, spinthat wheel.
Let's go for it.
We got three, two, one, spinthat wheel.
We're on point.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
This might be.
We are killing it.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
An MVP kind of performance.
Look at that, we are mixing itup.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
tonight too, it's going guest and then host.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (20:00):
Man who knew what a night, eric who would have thunk
All right.
What have we got here?
What are we missing?
In May, yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
So the story I'm going to go with is a story
about MoviePass that gotreleased.
At the beginning, it was likeMay 1st actually, so we're going
right to the beginning of themonth where MoviePass yes, movie
pass, the subscription servicewe all thought was dead is
making a return with a fantasybox office app.

(20:33):
It's going to be called moguland it's the first fantasy
league for hollywood, so the waythat this is going to work out
it's kind of like a fantasysports league.
As of right now, they have aninternational beta that's been
launched of the product.
Almost half a million peopleare already waitlisted for early
access and, like fantasy sports, users will be able to create

(20:55):
their own leagues with teams andplayers.
Everyone will be able to pickstudios, movies and directors.
Ultimately, right now there'sgoing to be a play mode with
in-game currency, but eventuallythe plan is to move it to
another phase where people willbe able to pay for upgrades and

(21:16):
eventually to a third phasewhere users can win money.
Phil, this is probably the worstthing to tell you as the
resident gambler, so my questionto everyone is what are we
thinking, phil?
We'll kind of start with you.
What are we thinking about this?
Is this something you would use, and if it's not, what is

(21:37):
something that you would betmoney on, phil?
That second question isn't foryou, because you'll bet money on
anything.

Speaker 4 (21:43):
Speaking of gambling, I brought another Pokemon.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
You know, know what, maybe starting with you is
actually a mistake.
You know what.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
You know how many hits I got you know how many
hits are in this?

Speaker 3 (21:53):
this is five packs of cards you know how many hits
are in these zero none all right.
Well, let's, let's, let philrecover.
Josh, I'm going to ask you thisquestion.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
We'll never financially recover from this.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
I'm going to ask you this question, josh Is this
something that you would do,even if it was free to enter
casually or to win money?
And if it's not, is thereanything you would actually do?
That's like a fantasy league, where you would have to, you
know, kind of really invest sometime in and potentially win
some money in.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
I'm going to be very real.
I never even did fantasyfootball, really so I would not
do.
Yeah, I am not a gambler.
I would not do.
This is a very unique idea.

Speaker 3 (22:42):
That was a mouthful, it was, and we casually
mentioned a very unique ideathat was a mouthful, it was, and
we casually mentioned a versionof it like on the side, phil.
Like we brought it up like twoweeks before this story, so we
were really late to the party onthat one.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah, yeah, I would not.
I would not do that.
Now, some people like there'salready a wait list, so I mean
it is getting people it mightwork.
Um, just not for me, because Idon't like to gamble.
Um, that's just me, short andsweet yeah, no, that that's fair

(23:17):
sid.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
What about you?
Is this something like if?
Because we do a fantasy gamingleague uh, that's very casual,
it's not pay to play or anything, but it works very much in the
same way of like we look at theslew of releases and we pick the
games we think are going tohave the best open critic score
and, based off those scores as awhole scoring model, we have a

(23:40):
lot of competitive play.
It's fun, right.
Would you do that for games orwould you do this for movies?
Would you do it for anythingelse where you would do
something like that and it couldget you money in return?

Speaker 2 (23:51):
I don't know.
I don't think so, because itjust seems like a lot of time
investment and, like I, there'softentimes where I don't really
pay like that much attention tonew things that are coming out,
movies and games included.
I guess new things that arecoming out, movies and games
included, I guess so like whatyou're saying, like, uh, to
clarify a little bit more, likeit would be like for their
release, like which ones dopopular or do well in the

(24:12):
theaters, perhaps I assume, it'sprobably going to be based off
rotten tomato score.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
Right, is that what it was?

Speaker 3 (24:18):
yeah, it's, it doesn't.
It's still kind of in itsinfancy, right, but it said
there's, there's informationthat's still to be released
about how they're going to dolike the scoring.
But it mentioned, like, actorsand directors and movies.
So I think like it could bebased off of movie ratings but
also box office figures for someof those movies and or actors

(24:39):
and directors, which I thinkwould be really interesting,
especially because, like, we'reso hit or miss on our end on
what's going to hit or flop.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
What's the over under on Mel Gibson slurs during this
press tour?
I don't think, no, not.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
No, I don't think that's it.
But, sid, if, if there wasn't,if it wasn't for games and
movies, is there anything thatyou would actually put like your
hard-earned money on or try towin money on and follow like
this much attention to detail atall?

Speaker 2 (25:13):
a tiny, tiny part of me, because I'm getting back
into reading.
A tiny, tiny part of me wouldwant to say reading, but even
then, still, no, absolutely not.
It just seems like too much ofa time investment and something
that, like I already am likereally scatterbrained a lot.
So I don't really think thatlike that would be something I
would be able to balance on topof everything else I've got
going on, like I would totallyget into it, maybe for like a

(25:34):
week or something, and justforget entirely about it at best
.
And then if I especially I'venever been much of a gambler in
any respect like I'm not thatI've been to many casinos, but
absolutely like have no interestbecause I have like horrific
luck, so no, absolutely not.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
Yeah, yeah, I would do it very casually, uh like
with friends.
I think that would be reallyfun.
I think once you start gettingthe money aspect, it gets a
little icky, uh.
But speaking of icky Phil, you're right here.
So how much would you drop onthis?

Speaker 4 (26:04):
Well, one second here .
I have signed up for the beta.

Speaker 1 (26:09):
I did not know there was a wait list.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
I did not know there was a wait list.

Speaker 3 (26:14):
I told you 400,.
I told you almost half amillion users joined the early
access wait list.
Well, now I'm on the wait list.
Tell me you weren't listeningwithout telling me.
Now I am on this wait list.
Tell me you weren't listeningwithout telling me.

Speaker 4 (26:26):
Now I am on this wait list as well, so yeah, I would.
First off, I didn't know whatthe fuck is this AI?
Who is this?
Do you get to create acharacter?

Speaker 3 (26:36):
He's a mogul.

Speaker 4 (26:38):
Okay, well, I better get to customize my character, I
don't know.
Oh, look, there's another one.
This is a mogul too.
Customize my character, I don't, I don't.
Oh, look, there's another one.
This is a mogul too.
Why is it combined with, likeum, what's the name of that?
Uh, that, uh, free to play game?
Um, I don't know.

(26:58):
Anyway, but like this is, yeah, but I am also, um, joined this.
But to give you guys an idea ofwhat Eric was talking about, so
this is our fantasy league withvideo games that we do with your
friendly neighborhood gamers.
Shout out to them.
So this is what we did.
So we draft games.
We started off by each draftingfive games in the beginning of
the year.
We did this in January and thenthrough the course of the year,
you can pick up games and then, based on their open critic

(27:22):
score, that's how many pointsyou get.
So, for instance, I picked Doomthe Dark Ages.
It has an open critic score.
That's how many points you get.
So, for instance, I picked doomthe dark ages.
It has an open critic score of85 and any points you get over
70.
That's how many points you get.
So I got 15 points for doom thedark ages.
So this is what I was thinkingof when it came to like movies.
Like it would be like a rottentomato score or something like
that.
I didn't even consider gamblingwhen I thought of, like, I
wanted a movie version of this,uh.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
But yeah, I'd do it so, phil, how much money would
you have lost on the bet thatJoker?
Oh god, oh my, I didn't eventhink about that.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
I definitely said last year that Joker 2 was gonna
be like better than the firstmovie, so I would have been like
yeah put money down on that.
Another oscar coming up, let'sgo yeah I mean you can already
bet on the academy awards now,um, and stuff like that.
So I don't do that, uh,illegally, so, um, so, but yeah,

(28:19):
but again we thought of thisidea.
Like a year ago I came to you.
I was like man, it'd be cool todo like a movie version of this
video game draft.
And then, you know, moviepassstole my intellectual property.
So they will be hearing from me.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
They will from our LLC.
So we're yeah, we're all on thesame page, except for Phil here
.
So that was my story MoviePassmaking a comeback, and into the
gambling space which what are wenot gambling on these days?
So that is what I brought tothe table, Phil, and that is not

(28:53):
the wheel.
That is the wheel, though.

Speaker 4 (28:55):
You do have to do it again.
Speaking of gambling, I listento this sports show on ESPN
every morning and it's funnybecause they always promote ESPN
bet and then, like in the inthe promo, they're always like
if you have a gambling problem, call this phone number.
But then they're like but ifyou don't, you should download
ESPN bet.
Sick, it's gross man.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
All right, let's count down.
We're gonna do this, we'regonna uh, we're gonna do another
spin here.
So it's going to be three, two, one, spin that wheel.
So let's go for it Three, two, one, spin that wheel.

Speaker 1 (29:34):
Listen.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
That's a three for three right there, alright Red
has gotten it every time, has it.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
So that is a theme.
Yes, red, alright, red, red, red, alright it.
So that is a theme.
Yes, red, all right, red, red, red, all right, phil, what is
your story?

Speaker 4 (29:50):
Well, eric, I'm sure you knew where I was going to go
this month, and it has to bethe Hunger Games.
I am a big Hunger Games fan.
I have read and posted a reviewon Instagram as well, for, if
you want to know my review andmy thoughts on Sunrise and the
Reaping, which is the latestbook in the Hunger Games series,
it's fantastic.
It broke me emotionally, mentally, physically a little

(30:11):
bit as well, but they've beencasting this film and it comes
out next year.
We've actually been watchingthrough the first four Hunger
Games movies and then we'll bedoing Songbirds and Snakes a
little bit later with mydaughter Elizabeth Hunger Games
movies.
And then we'll be doingSongbirds and Snakes a little
bit later with my daughter, elizabeth, who's never seen them
.
Shout out to her, by the way,she graduated this evening,
graduated high school.
So shout out to Liz.
But they have been over thecourse of the last few weeks

(30:34):
releasing the casting for thisfilm and it is absolutely insane
.
So I'm going to bring up allthe people that have been cast
so far, which I'm now realizingis not in this article that I
saw Film please, sunrise on.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
That's like the reason you would pick this story
.
It is.

Speaker 4 (30:55):
Well, I figured I selected this.
Never mind.
Okay, do you want to go?

Speaker 3 (31:00):
over the nine hours ago, they announced the main
cast for Harry Potter.
You want?

Speaker 4 (31:04):
to switch?
No, I absolutely do not.
Okay, so, as one thing that'scrazy is they've gotten a lot of
people that also played youngerversions of the older actors
from like the original film.
So, for instance, plutarchHeavensby, which was played by
the late Philip Seymour Hoffman,is being played by Jesse
Plemons in this film.
So, for instance, plutarchHeavensby, which was played by
the late Philip Seymour Hoffman,is being played by Jesse

(31:26):
Plemons in this film, and JessePlemons played his son in
another film, which isabsolutely insane.
Kelvin Harrison Jr will beBeattie, which was originally
played by Jeffrey Wright.
We have Hamish Abernathy, whichwas, of course, played by Woody
Harrelson.
Now will be portrayed by JosephZada this one here.

(31:47):
So we have Maya Hawke as Wyrus, which is going to be awesome.
She is fantastic.
We have Mags Flanagan, whichwas played by Lynn Cohen in the
original, will now be played byLily Taylor this was a big one
here.
Eric right, this will be ourthird Coriolanus Snow.
So previously, of course, wehad Donald Sutherland and Tom

(32:08):
Blythe.
Now we will have Ralph Fiennes, who is incredible.
He'll be stepping into the roleof President Snow.
It's great that we'll havethree versions of Snow.
That absolutely terrified me.
Effie Trinket, which is acharacter people were very, very
excited for in terms of thecasting, of course, brought to
life by the incredible ElizabethBanks, will now be played by
Elle Fanning and CesarFlickerman, who was played by

(32:30):
Stanley Tucci Kieran Culkin isstepping into that role as far
as the very, very, what's theword?
Outlandish newscaster from theCapitol.
So those are just some of thenames, some of the bigger names
that people have been talkingabout, and I am so excited for

(32:51):
this movie.
Going back and rewatching allthese films all this time later.
They still hold up very, verywell to this day.
I loved Songbirds and Snakeswith Tom Blythe and Rachel
Zegler Shout out to PhyllynPhyllis' favorite actress,
rachel Zegler but I loved thosemovies.
So I want to know have you guysread any of the books?
I will throw it to you first, eric, because I know you haven't

(33:11):
read any of the books, but youhave seen the movies.
So what do you think about thiscasting?
This was a whole hell of a lotbetter than watching fucking
chairs for six hours, as fargames did, compared to marvel
yeah, I like the.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
I like their promo material better for, uh, hunger
games.
Uh, as someone who wasn't likehead over heels about the you
know trilogy or the, theoriginal series when it came out
with uh, you know, uh, with themovies I I'm not like as
attached, but I will say thecasting makes me very interested

(33:43):
, like those are a lot of peoplethat we really enjoy in film,
so it's definitely got my eye onit.
Now, like do I have to go seethe Rachel Zegler one?
Like I don't know that I wantto watch that one no, is it no?

Speaker 4 (33:56):
Okay, Well so the Rachel Zegler one that is an
origin story for snow, originstory for snow, um, and it's,
it's great and he, it's prettycrazy to see that someone is
just evil from beginning to end.
So that's, and that characteris really interesting to me.
So it's a good movie, but youdon't have to see it to see
sunrise.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
No yeah, I mean, like I said, my, I might fit it in
there.
There's so many movies to watchthese days that it's kind of
hard to get back into it if Iwasn't already invested.
Um, it's like when, like, when,uh, like, I like the original
Lord of the Rings.
I liked, I liked those movies.
They're very, very good movies.
Uh, I'm just not like obsessedwith it the way that some people
are.
So when I went back and watchedthe Hobbit which was shit, uh,

(34:36):
to be fair, uh, when I watchedthe Hobbit, I wasn't like
invested, so like I felt like Iwas kind of wasting my time just
for the sake of it.
I don't want that to happenhere.
So we'll have to see.
All it takes is a good trailer.
I, for example, was not excitedfor the Superman movie until
the first trailer, and now I'veseen two different trailers and

(34:57):
I'm like, yeah, we were talkingabout it, phil, that movie might
be really good.
It might be really good, andI'm not a Superman character.
We don't really care about.
Yeah, so all it takes is onegood trailer, one good scene,
one good moment, and I might behooked in and intrigued.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
Yeah, and also to give you guys a little bit more
insight, the Sunrise on theReaping Story is about
Haymitch's game, so this is thegames that he won when he was in
the Hunger Games, and it isagain a devastating story.
Syd, you mentioned jumping backinto reading.
What is your experience withthe Hunger Games books, as well
as the movies?

Speaker 2 (35:28):
So I definitely read those books growing up and I
loved them.
I loved them a lot.
I was so excited when they weregetting movies, and so I really
liked the movie.
Well, actually I don't evenknow if I've watched all the
movies.
I think I've only seen thefirst two.
How many is there?
Like three or four.

Speaker 4 (35:43):
There's five.
As far as the first three books, there's four movies, so they
broke up the third book into twofilms.
Thanks, harry Potter.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
Yeah, I don't think I've seen those yet, I don't
quite recall.
But yeah, very excited when Iheard they were coming out.
Even then, like more so, likeinitially.
But I haven't read Songbirdsand Snakes and I also haven't
read Sunbirds and snakes and Ialso haven't read sunrise on the
reaping.
But I've been hearing a lot ofgood things from my friends
because it's been like I saidwhen I got back into books here
recently, um, like that was likeone of the ones this month I've

(36:13):
been non-stop talking about.
I'm like I'm a little investedin some other stuff right now,
but I'm like this is putting iton my radar because I didn't
know it was getting a movie atall.
So I'm actually kind of reallyexcited to maybe like read that
one in the next couple of monthsand hit the movies for it then
yeah, they're both great.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
If you haven't seen the last two, they're actually
all five are returning to HBO inJune.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
OK, yeah, right after I paid for all four of them.
So that is that's great, thatthat's that, but it's OK.
It's okay, josh.
It seemed like you had a littlebit of familiarity with this
series.
What do you think about thiscast?
And again, have you read any ofthe books or seen all the
movies?

Speaker 1 (36:53):
I unfortunately have not read any of the books I want
to.
I wasn't really a heavy readerback in high school or even
college, and now that I do itfor a living I've gotten a
little bit into it andinterested in it.
So, um, I kind of want to, Ikind of want to read those and,
um, I did watch the first two.
Um, I watched actually wait, no, correct myself.

(37:15):
I did watch the first part ofMockingjay.
Um, didn't get to the secondpart.
The first part to me was like abuildup to the second part.
Um, of course, harry potter, um, but uh, yeah, I really liked
catching fire.
Um, and that set the tone for, like for me, the whole series.
I know the first film was good, but yeah, um, I'm gonna be real

(37:39):
here, though I did see like Iread a synopsis to sunrise and
that is a rough story.
It's so heavy I am hesitant togo into that it is very heavy
yeah, I mean even for next yearfor me, I'm not gonna get into
my business, but you know it'sbeen a heavy time for me.

(37:59):
So, you know, going into thatprobably not the best, but is
such such a good story, and Iknow I spoiled myself, but for
me personally, sometimes, whenI'm not really into a series at
the moment, sometimes I spoilmyself a little bit to get
myself interested sometimes, andwhen I read that, I was like

(38:20):
and it's Haymitch too, I loveHaymitch, I love Woody Harrelson
, hit what you know hisperformance.
So, um, you know, seeing thenew actor do do that from that
story, from that entry, would becrazy.
That is a that is a wild story.
From what I read.
Um, I'm gonna have to.

(38:41):
My rule is, though, I'm gonnahave to watch all the movies or,
you know, read the books beforeI see that, because that is,
yeah, it deserves it.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
Yeah, for sure, and I'm a big audiobook person as
well, so definitely recommendthat, um, if you find audible in
your budget.
They run like one dollar amonth specials all the time, so
that's whenever I rejoin andthen I cancel before I go back
up in price so yeah definitely, and the uh, the person they have
as far as the, the vo for thenarrow for narration, is
outstanding.

(39:09):
So, yeah, really, really good.
Uhing Fire is my favorite, still Second book, second movie,
still definitely my favorite.
So I cannot wait for this, eric.
You know, yeah, let's bringback the.
Let's see what happens if we'regoing to get another string of
the young adult novel films thatsome of them are good and some
of them aren't so good.
So we'll see what happens afterthis one comes out.
But so we'll see what happensafter this one comes out, but I

(39:30):
have high hopes for it.

Speaker 3 (39:32):
Yeah.
Yeah, that's completely fair.
I believe we still have to dothe wheel.

Speaker 4 (39:42):
Now, Josh, you're new here.
You might say to yourself whywheel, why wheel?

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Why?
Why are we doing this?

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Eric will tell you why wheel, oh no.

Speaker 3 (39:54):
We don't know.
We just do, josh, we just do.
So I'm going to need both youand Sid.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
But there's a red Josh and then there's a blue
Josh, so we have to see.
All right, you guys want to betmoney on this actually Actually
no, no, I don't.
Blue.
I probably got like $6 inPokemon cards here.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Okay, and I paid $30.
All right, what's the officialcalls Phil red or blue?

Speaker 4 (40:17):
I'm going to go red for $1,500.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
Okay, sid, red or blue Blue.
Okay, josh, red or blue Blue.
All right, I'm also going redhere.
Then, phil, we're going tocount down, we're going to say,
spin that wheel, and then wedon't have to do this again.
Three, two, one, spin thatwheel.
Might have been four for fourtonight.

(40:41):
That's crazy.
I think it was really reallygood.
Blue.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Oh, no, oh, All right Phil you lost $1,500.
Hold on a second, my bookie'scoming over to break my legs.
All right, blue, josh.
Which story did you go with forthe month of May?
What did we miss?

Speaker 1 (41:01):
So this is my first time.
I don't know.
Everybody has had good subjects.
I don't know if mine will matcheverybody's Josh is going to be
like.

Speaker 4 (41:13):
the Dow Jones is down 60 points this month.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
I'm losing money, nah , but there is something that
interested me that I wanted totalk about.
Some people may be into it.
I don't know.
Um, in the world ofprofessional wrestling, uh,
trick Williams has now won theTNA World Championship from the

(41:45):
prestigious one Joe Hendry.
Um, I don't know what to thinkabout that because I like Joe
Hendry, but I know the logisticsof it and how historic this
actually is.
There has never been a WWEsuperstar development or on the
main roster to win anotherpromotional world championship

(42:08):
like TNA.
I mean, I don't think it evenhappened when the merger, or
like when Vince, or uh, when, um, you know, when WWE bought WCW.
I don't think that evenhappened.
Um, you know, after this mergerhappened with TNA and WWE.
Just, the possibilities arevery wild.

(42:29):
They're very just vast.
And to see Trick win that theother night at Battleground, the
pay-per-view for NXT, that waswild, that was crazy.
Now, for me personally, I'vebeen getting more into wrestling
as of late, I was out of it.
I was out of it for the PG era.

(42:51):
Wrestling as of late, I was outof it.
I was out of it for the PG eraera from like 2010 to 20, 2022,
2020.
I don't know, and what got meback into it actually was Joe
Hendry.
And Joe Hendry the more Ilearned about him, the more I
got inspired and like how muchhe grinded to even get to this

(43:11):
point.
For the TNA, when he was TNAworld champion, to actually walk
out to WrestleMania whichhappened in April, so I'm going
back further was historic.
There's never been a TNA worldchampion that walks out at
WrestleMania, so you know, topass down the torch to Trick,

(43:32):
who has also made history.
Now.
I think it's just really crazyin WWE lore and in wrestling
lore, because it's always beencompetition, competition,
competition.
And now we're suddenly seeingtwo organizations working
together.
And you can make that, you caneven you, you know, put that
even in a deeper sense.

(43:52):
It's like two organizations, two businesses working together
to make a better product and Ifeel like if we had more of that
in this world, maybe grocerieswould be less or something.
I don't know that's just me, butgetting back more into
wrestling and seeing, you know,Trick and Joe with their rivalry

(44:14):
and bouncing off of each otherand just making each other
better and making businesshappen for the wrestling
business, it's just been reallycool and inspiring.
And yeah, I don't know if thateven matches what we're doing.

Speaker 4 (44:28):
No, definitely no.
We've done wrestling storieshere in the past.
People have brought upwrestling stories, so how do we
explain this to Sid Eric?
Yeah, in anime or gaming terms, this is going to be interesting
.

Speaker 1 (44:40):
Sorry Sid.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
Oh no, it's totally fine.

Speaker 4 (44:43):
I have a lot of friends that are into wrestling,
but I'm ignorant, I'm veryignorant.

Speaker 3 (44:47):
I think the question is, as we get ready to explain
the situation Sid, what is yourradius to wrestling been?
Have you ever dipped your toeinto it?
Have you just caught on tostuff through your friends that
actually like it?
What does that look like fromwhere you are to where wrestling
is?
What is that?

Speaker 2 (45:09):
I don't think I'm very well versed in almost
anything anymore, like I try tolike listen to my friends, but I
just don't really understandwhat's really happening much
anymore.
Um, I wasn't really into it asa kid but my dad and my brothers
like to watch it, so that'skind of where I got any of the
knowledge from.
But I can kind of glean like alittle like.
So it was like two mergingbusinesses, companies of some

(45:33):
sort, and then maybe, like thisperson has one like a title or
something like that from bothwhich is very unheard of,
because I don't know, is thatwhat?

Speaker 3 (45:42):
happened, maybe pretty much like so.
Uh, so like you know how itmight hear academia, they have
like a hero ranking system, solike all might's number one.
Yeah, academia, they have likea hero ranking system, so like
all might's number one.
Yeah, right, so well, let's doendeavor because nobody's
beating.
All right, so endeavors numberone.
And then I don't know, uh,kakashi comes in or something I
don't know.
Pick any, pick any random animecharacter at the top of their

(46:05):
game over here and they yeah, gojo, gojo comes over and takes
the number one spot from a rival, slash competing anime and
comes into my Hero Academia andbecomes number one.

Speaker 4 (46:22):
So TNA and WWE were competitors for the longest time
.
Tna is based out of Orlandoit's a much smaller promotion.
Wwe is the big time.
Tna is based out of Orlandoit's a much smaller promotion.
Wwe is the big time.
So they last year WWE boughtout TNA, so now they can have
like a lot of crossover events, which is really cool.
So people that you neverthought would see in WWE and TNA

(46:43):
and vice versa like are showingup where they wouldn't normally
show up.
So Joe Hendry, the TNA champion, showed up at WrestleMania,
which is like the Super Bowl forwrestling, of course, and
that's a really, really big deal.
It's like showing up somewherethat he previously never would
have.
So now a WWE talent, acontracted wrestler, has the
title for this other company andthat's never happened before.

(47:05):
So it is history making.
It is a little bit of a bummer, because you can kind of see it
on Joe's face that he waswearing that he was about to
lose.
This, of course, ispredetermined, so you could see
that he was wearing it on hisface and he worked very, very
hard and he will win thatchampionship back, but it's
still very emotional.
Like you said, josh, he hasworked his tail off to get where

(47:26):
he is and he has done such agreat job in terms of marketing
himself and really like takingadvantage of social media,
because is he the best wrestler?
No, is he one of the mostentertaining?
Absolutely.
So I feel for him, but it'salso a really big deal for Truke
Williams, right, eric?
So I think it's really cool.
I just hope that it's not onhim for too long, because it

(47:47):
should go back to Joe and thenhe should drop that title to a
TNA wrestler, you know.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
Yeah, I mean it's only good for TNA, but at some
point they do have to get thelick back.
Like Joe Andri, you know, haskind of lost at NXT, lost at the
Rumble, lost at Mania, allgreat opportunities, but now
lost to an NXT superstar.
So like it's great for TNAbecause it's got eyes on that
product that they would neverhave.
So like it's great for TNAbecause it's got eyes on that
product that they would neverhave.
But they do need to either helpJoe become a bigger star or

(48:16):
elevate someone else from TNA aswell.
But I think Joe Hendry, I meanhe's destined for great things.
And Sid, if you don't know whoJoe Hendry is, I'm going to have
to finagle and cut this forPatreon only, but I'm about to
show you.
I'm going to put the finagleand cut this for Patreon only,
but I'm about to show you.

Speaker 4 (48:33):
I'm going to put the video in when I edit it.

Speaker 1 (48:36):
Just say his name and he'll appear.
Just say his name and he'llappear.

Speaker 3 (48:40):
All right, let's see if I can do this Careful with
the volume.
I tried to lower everything soit's not super loud, because
it's going to happen so fast.
Let's see if I can do this.

Speaker 4 (48:51):
Okay, here we go oh, there's no music, eric, there is
no music okay let's try itagain all right, did you get
share audio?
What about now?
No, no no, no did you hit shareaudio when you?

Speaker 3 (49:12):
Yeah, I did.
I did click share audio.
Let's try it again.
Is it because I shared thewhole window?
I bet you that's what it is.
Because this thing is stupid.
Let's do the entire screenShare audio.
Here we go.
Got it Round two, here it goes.

Speaker 4 (49:26):
You gotta go at least to the wave.

(49:48):
Hold on.

Speaker 3 (49:57):
Just shredding it.
Alright, here we go, guys, youready, you guys ready.
Come on, sid, get ready.
Okay.

Speaker 1 (50:12):
I believe in Joe Henry.

Speaker 3 (50:14):
Oh, all right, that's it.
That's it.
I'm going to stop now.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
That was nothing like what I was expecting at all in
the slightest.
You could never have preparedme for that.

Speaker 4 (50:28):
I have no words.
It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Except I guess we believe in Joe Henry.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
I guess that's right, let's go.
You're already there.
You're already there.

Speaker 4 (50:37):
Sam, you did it.
You got me in there.
We're going to have to tag JoeHenry in that clip on Twitter.

Speaker 3 (50:42):
Honestly, if you tell your wrestling friends that you
believe in Joe Henry.
They'll fucking freak.
They'll freak.

Speaker 2 (50:47):
I'm just going to actually after this, I'm going
to go to my discord.
I'm just going to be like.
I believe in Joe Hendricks.
I have a few I'm going to sendthis to you later, so you guys
can see what their reaction is.

Speaker 4 (50:56):
Also, if you type the gif in, he will pop up.
He will pop up the one of himturning around that song also
may get stuck in your head.

Speaker 3 (51:03):
So apologies in advance.

Speaker 4 (51:05):
In the words of the great Simon Miller's silly and
fun, goofy wrestling is the besttype of wrestling, so we need
to keep that around.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
I had one more thing to add.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Just one little thing .

Speaker 1 (51:16):
Yeah yeah.
Just one little thing.
One little thing, this just in.
It is now five or six years nowthat Matt Cardona is not signed
to WWE there, that's all mycurrent events.
Yeah, which is crazy.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
He said they haven't even called.
What the freak man like hiswife is in the company.
He's all over the place likehe's done an aw stint, which you
know.
You think that would even, ummake them more of a reason to
give him a call.
But yeah, I don't know.
So yeah, I said, outside of youknow the big leagues WWE, aew,

(51:52):
tna like we mentioned, there area lot of independent promotions
and this particular wrestler heused to be in WWE but he left
and has reinvented himself.
He is incredibly popular andwe've all been kind of just
waiting for him to show up andhe has not done that.
So, but I think it will.
I think it's only a matter oftime, but it is crazy that it's
taken this long, eric yeah, no,and it's always great to talk

(52:14):
wrestling.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
So, josh, great, great story, love that.
We did it, and we got to throwjoe hendry in here now yes now I
could just send sid joe hendrymemes and she'll know what it
means.

Speaker 4 (52:25):
Yeah, I feel like you guys want to play repo tonight
and we'll be like I can't oh mygod, you both did it the same
time.
Hold on, I'm lightheaded, Ineed to say.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
What's happening?
What's happening.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Oh, my God, okay, well.
Well, this is the part of theepisode where we let people go
over Maybe some stories thatthey didn't make, that didn't
make the cuts, some stories theythought about doing.
So if you want to throw thatout here, eric, you I usually go
first.
You want me to go ahead andjust throw?

Speaker 3 (52:55):
mine out here, yeah, yeah, and then give it to them
and I'll do a.
Uh, I'll do the discord roundup.
To wrap it up, there's not asmuch, nearly as last.
There really wasn't happy about?

Speaker 4 (53:03):
no, yeah, so, um, first and foremost, I've been
looking for a reason to go tochicago for a long, and there's
a million reasons, but in 2026,the Pokemon Fossil Museum is
bringing real and fake Pokemonfossils to Chicago next year,
and I will be going to that.
I cannot wait.
I was very sad, thinking Iwould never get to go see it

(53:23):
because it was originally inJapan, but it will now be in
Chicago.
The Gears of War ReloadedEdition is coming to PlayStation
, so Gears of War, for the firsttime, will be available to Sony
players, and I think that isjust really, really great.
As I mentioned, gta 6 has beendelayed to May 2026.
That's not news.
And then the last thing ZachBraff has joined the Scrubs

(53:45):
reboot which is in developmentat ABC.
Scrubs is a show that I watchedduring the pandemic and I came
away from it thinking um, it isprobably of that era, probably
the best sitcom out of any ofthe other ones.
That includes the office, isright up there with parks and
recreation.
All of those shows, uh,certainly friends, um, but uh,

(54:05):
yeah, it's, it's coming back.
I don't know how I feel aboutit, but at least they got some
of the OGs on board and BillLawrence.
So some of the most importantpieces, eric.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
Yep and Phil.
Why don't you recap it for us,those three stories that you
shared?
And then, Sid, if you haveanything you want to chime in on
any of those stories, you can.

Speaker 4 (54:22):
Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:23):
You also can opt out.
This did make the cut.

Speaker 4 (54:25):
This is like rapid fire If you don't have anything
to say about Pokemon.
Pokemon Fossil Museum, gears ofWar on PlayStation, gta 6
Delayed and Scrubs Reboot ZachBraff coming back.

Speaker 2 (54:37):
I had not heard about the Fossil Museum at all.
That sounds really cool anddefinitely makes me want to go
see it as well, because that'ssuper fascinating.
Skipping that, some of theother ones, the GTA thing I'm
not surprised that they've beenset back again, but I honestly
kind of hope that that meansit's going to be better, because
, like I don't know, I just feellike if a game is pushing

(54:57):
itself back or like not the game, but like the developers or
something are going to pushthemselves back, like I would
hope that means that it's goingto be a fully formed game when
it finally hatches.
You know, ideally, because I'mkind of tired of seeing games
that are, like you know, justcoming out half-assed.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
So yeah, I'd like to actually.
Yeah, no, you can, you can.
Uh.
All, the, all the children uhthat watch our show are in bed
right now, so they're they'renot watching uh no, I want to.

Speaker 4 (55:21):
Comes out at three in the morning, like on a friday.
They're asleep, they'relistening on the way to oh,
school is gonna be over.

Speaker 3 (55:28):
I think that we might be in trouble uh, anyway, we
need the downloads, kids yeah.
I'd like to actually finish aGTA, so hopefully they come out
with it.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
Oh yeah, eric's never even beaten GTA V right.

Speaker 3 (55:39):
Yeah, you'd have to bring it up.
You'd have to bring it up.
Friendly reminder, obligatorystory.
Gta tried to play it on launchand was playing the story and
then GTA online, uh, decided todrop and I was like, yeah, let's

(55:59):
give that a shot.
What I did not know was thatpeople that were joining had the
risk of losing their save file, which is what happened to me.
So my story main file, like mymain story file, got corrupted
by trying to join GTA online, and I'm a completionist in the
sense that I like to do a lot ofside stuff, so I wasn't
focusing on doing the story.
I had quite a bit of game timein it just doing shit and I said

(56:19):
, yep, fuck this game, and Inever, never touched it again.
Josh, any of those stories thatPhil mentioned that you want to
chime in on?

Speaker 1 (56:29):
Um, from what I?
Can you list them one more time?
Of course, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 4 (56:34):
No, no, no, you're good.
The Pokemon Fossil Museum inChicago 2026.
Gta, I mean GTA, Pushback,Gears of War Reloaded Edition,
All the games on PS5.
And then the Scrubs reboot withZach Braff.

Speaker 1 (56:48):
I didn't watch a lot of Scrubs.
I watched it sometimes with mymom, which was, uh, that was
really nice.
Um, that's really, that'sreally cool.
Um, overall, I just kind ofwant to see how that goes,
because scrubs is such alegendary show.
So, you know, that'd be reallycool to see.
You know how that goes.
Um, gears of war I was a fan ofgears of war.

(57:08):
War, that's hype.
I got a PlayStation 5.
That's happening at some point.
Let's see.
That museum sounds really cool.
I did see, you know, scrollingon Instagram.
I did see a post about that.
I didn't see where it wastechnically or you know, on the
post, but it just said like, ooh, this museum that sounds really

(57:32):
cool.
And what's the last one?

Speaker 4 (57:36):
It was just GTA 5.

Speaker 1 (57:38):
GTA 5?
Yeah, I'm gonna have to go withSid.
I second that Just not.
Yeah, just at this point, it'salmost you just expect it, but
they want to make it perfect.
I mean, there's so muchpressure with that game, there's
so much pressure.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
Imagine if it's bad.
Could you imagine if it was bad?
It came out, it just was notfun.

Speaker 1 (58:04):
It can't happen.
It cannot, that would beterrible, but that's why these
delays are happening, so I'mhoping that's good.
I've never been really a GTAguy, but I hope it's good for
everybody else, because all myfriends want to play it.

Speaker 4 (58:22):
Yeah, for sure, the Pokemon Museum.
It will be at Chicago's FieldMuseum starting on May 22nd 2026
.
And it's really cool becausethey put the Pokemon fossils and
then they'll put it next to,like, a dinosaur fossil.
That like inspired the Pokemon.
So I cannot wait for this.
So go ahead, syd.

Speaker 2 (58:39):
I was wondering what you meant by real, because I was
like wait real Pokemon, realPokemon, is that what you mean?
Surprise.
That makes a lot more sense.

Speaker 4 (58:47):
Yeah, so it's going to be really, really cool, josh,
yeah, so it's gonna be reallyreally cool.
Uh, josh, what was?
Maybe some of the other stories, or if you had one or two, uh,
that, uh, you thought aboutthrowing out there.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
If you want to just toss out here, sure so, uh, in
my little handy dandy notebook.
Uh, besides the two that Ishared um there's other, there's
three more um, the one piece, live action is, uh, there's
going to be a special on it in.
I can't ever pronounce itT-U-D-O-M.
Tudum, tudum.

Speaker 2 (59:17):
You know the.

Speaker 1 (59:17):
Netflix thing.
I guess On May 31st at 8 pmthere's going to be, I think,
maybe a launch, I don't knowwhen it's officially launching
season two for the live action.
I love um, but I don't knowwhat they're going to show.
So that's cool.

(59:39):
Um, it's one of the best liveactions to ever come out of
anime.
Uh, because anime has been upand down with their live actions
.
Uh, I was really hoping for thedeath note one to be great, but
, uh, that didn't do well, um,and we don't talk about Dragon
Ball and we don't talk aboutDragon Ball.
Sorry, ravoni Kenshin, thoseare good though, those are
really good, but yeah, that'shappening.

(01:00:00):
What else is happening?
This one I'm not really dissing, I'm just disappointed.
Just the Disney live actionsI've been hearing recently that
Llo and stitch is not that good,um, which I'm just like crap

(01:00:20):
dude.
Um, and I yeah, I have to domore studying on it uh, probably
even watch it, but I'm gonnatake your word, eric, because
you do a lot of good analysiswork.

Speaker 3 (01:00:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:34):
So that's really disappointing and I mean it's
like you're already like struckout with, you know, snow White,
which that stinks too, because Imean, yeah, for numerous
reasons.
And it's like, okay, and youwant these live actions to be
good because they, you know, youlook back on them, you watch
them and make it's nostalgia, but at the same time it's start

(01:00:59):
asking the question did wereally ask for this?
You know, I kind of want you tobring back the 2D animation
like Treasure, planet andAtlantis.
That's just me, but that's it'sjust really disappointing.
Um, I know those actors workreally hard, so it's just like
now they have to deal with thebullshit, you know, um.

(01:01:21):
And then the last one is shortand sweet Uh, the Crunchyroll
Awards just happened and SoloLeveling just got the, I believe
, the Anime of the Year year, uh, correct me if I'm wrong anime
of the year and mashley gotcomedy of the year, which I
really enjoy.
Um, um, it was really cool thatnokatan got nominated for, uh,

(01:01:42):
best comedy and best slice oflife, but for mashley to win I
love that and solo leveling.

Speaker 3 (01:01:47):
so yeah, yeah, yeah, I love, I love all three of
those.
Um, I'll kind of chime in herefirst for the one piece live
action I'm excited to see.
I think they're going to revealthe the first look at chopper,
so that's going to be extremelyexciting.
Uh, please, please, fuckingnail it, please, nail it they
have to.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Yeah, what's the worst case scenario?
With that I mean the worst casescenario like really bad cgi it
would look like Sonic.

Speaker 2 (01:02:11):
the first time we saw him, and he's a core character,
so it's not like a one-timething.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
So I'm excited to see what that is.
I think they'll also maybe giveus a tease of when it's going
to release.
I don't think they've done thatquite yet.
As far as giving us a date, that I could find the Disney
live actions Okay.
Lilo and Stitch.
If you didn't see my review,I'm just going to give you the
quick rundown.
Lilo and Stitch are great.
It's everything else about themovie.

(01:02:40):
It is everything else From theway that it is edited and made.

Speaker 4 (01:02:44):
I was disoriented in the first place?
Do we spoil the ending?

Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
I kind of want you to Do.
Either of you care, either ofyou ended in the first.
The ending.

Speaker 4 (01:02:52):
I kind of want you to do personally care if we spoil
the ending for the Lilo andStitch live action.
If you were to listen.
No, you don't want us to spoilit, or you don't care?
I don't care okay for anybodythat's listening.
And if you're gonna go see theLilo and Stitch live action,
jump ahead like maybe a minute.
So, eric, okay.
So, eric, this is what I toldyou that I had heard through the
grapevine that is, twitter.
I had heard that Nani givesLilo to the state so she could

(01:03:16):
go to school, eric, tell themwhat happens.

Speaker 3 (01:03:20):
She goes to do this, but the neighbor steps in and
Lilo then lives with theneighbor, so Nani could go study
marine biology on the mainland.

Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
She lives in Hawaii.

Speaker 3 (01:03:35):
And I have since found out.
I have since found out that, apparently, like, if you live in
Hawaii, you get like a freeride to a marine biology school.

Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
Lil's got accepted into a school in Honolulu that
is an exceptional marine biologyschool.

Speaker 3 (01:03:53):
So I know there's one there.
So yeah, so, and again, at nopoint does she show an interest
in marine biology.
She's a surfer.
So I guess that's close.
But she's basically instead oflike in the movie, in the
animated film where she's goingto lose custody and Jamba, like
you know, jamba turns good andthey help her.
She doesn't get any of thatsupport.

(01:04:14):
Jamba is like the bad guy withno Russian accent.
Zach Galifianakis is a fuckingthief.
He is a criminal.
The most dead-eyed,eye-jigging-is-for-money
performance I've ever seen in mylife.
Yeah, it just doesn't have thecharm.
It doesn't have the heart.
The ending basically fucks upthe whole thing.
So yeah, from the way themovie's cut to the way the movie

(01:04:39):
ends, I genuinely disliked it.
I went from like, ah, it wasokay, to disliking it.
However, all the fucking kidsin the theater loved it and that
movie, I believe, is alreadygetting close to half a million.

Speaker 4 (01:04:51):
It's already made more money than the animated
version did in its entire run.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
It was made for Disney+ and you can tell
animated version did its entirerun.
It was made for Disney Plus andyou can tell like respectfully,
you can also tell that as well.
But yeah, it's making a shitton of money.
So Disney's not going to learntheir lesson anytime soon.

Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
Yep, so there you go.

Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
I'm sorry, josh, that's depressing.
Yeah, I had to get that off mychest.
Ohana means nothing.

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Ohana means money, apparently, that's that nothing.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
Ohana means money, apparently that's bullshit.
I mean, to be fair, she cantravel because they have like a
teleportation gun, so I meanthey do get to see each other.
But it's the principle.

Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
It's the principle, that's just you know, I don't
want this to get political, butthat's just the touch that some
movies and series have nowadays.
It's just, I don't know it'sdisney specifically.

Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
they.
They tried to go in onedirection and it and everybody
thought it was a little tooobvious.
So now they're trying tobacktrack, but it's a little bit
too forceful.
So, like there's a nice mediumwhere we can have representation
and diversity and I don't know, just we could all be normal
fucking people and accept it.
And Disney has taken both endsof the spectrum and tried to do

(01:06:06):
both.
They tried to really lean intoit and now they're trying to
really lean off of it and itdoesn't make any sense to me.
So I'm not even a political guyand I can see the tug of war
that Disney is doing and it justdoesn't make sense.
There's a medium where this canhappen.
They're just not doing it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
It's already been made, though, too, you made it.

Speaker 4 (01:06:27):
You could also just not make it.
You could just not make thelive action movie.

Speaker 1 (01:06:31):
Lilo and Stitch was made like I don't know one, two,
15 years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:06:37):
Yeah, what was lilo and stitch?
This, uh, lilo and stitch isthe most recent animated film
that has been, uh, uh, done.
Yeah, 20 years ago, 2005 oh,I'm so old.

Speaker 4 (01:06:48):
Well, moana is about.
Yeah, it will be moana next.

Speaker 3 (01:06:51):
So it'll be moana next.

Speaker 4 (01:06:52):
Yeah yeah, so it also doesn't need a live action.
But yeah, it's kind of funnyyou brought that up actually,
josh because we did discuss whenwe had Ruan.
We actually discussed, like, because Snow White did so poorly
.
They are putting a pause onmore of these live action, which
is good, but unfortunately thatmeans that Rapunzel was on the
chopping block and I thoughtthat one actually might have
been able to work, depending oncasting.

(01:07:13):
So, but yeah, they need to stop.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
yeah and then, uh, yeah, crunchy roll, awards, solo
leveling way, uh, winning.
I didn't watch free ren or theapocather uh, apocather, yeah, I
don't know how to say that oneapothecary, yeah that diary, uh,
but I haven't watched either Ineed to watch I need to watch
both.
I know that's that's on me also.
Should have learned topronounce it, uh.
But solo leveling season twowas pretty fucking great.

(01:07:39):
I'm just going to throw thatout there.
I don't think it's that.
I don't know if it's that muchof a controversy as some people
have made it.
I think it was well-deserved.
Mashal is very funny.
I totally get it.
Sid.
Any of those stories you wantto chime in on the One Piece
live action, the Disney livelive actions or crunchy roll and
solo leveling, pretty muchbeating out the competition I

(01:08:01):
don't really think I haveanything to say that wasn't
mostly already said, besidesdiving back into more detail
about likely low andspecifically.

Speaker 2 (01:08:08):
But, like I, I'm actually really glad to hear
that they're going to put a stopto that, at least for a little
period.
I'm like thank god, because allof those have been awful.
But the only other thing that Iwanted to say too is like that
was kind of like one of theother things I wanted to mention
and talk about, like my one ofmy other stories is the um, the
solo leveling thing, and theynot only won anime of the year,

(01:08:29):
but they also won best newseries and best action, best
main character, best endingsequence, best score.
I think they want all of those, which is just like oh, that's
over top of um, free run andapothecary diaries okay see I, I
wouldn't but um other than thatyou need to watch apothecary

(01:08:52):
diaries but yeah, that so I was.
I think that people were justkind of like a little bit
shocked that it won so manythings in comparison to Free Run
and Apothecary Diaries, likenot really winning some stuff as
well.
So that was the only thing Iwanted to mention.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Yeah, I think it's tough because, like people were
acting this way with, like DemonSlayer, like a few years ago,
when it was winning likeeverything, and like a good
shonen will probably win quite abit more than it should and
while, uh, solo leveling isn't ashonen, it's an action series.
So I mean it's just very closeto what that shonen vibe is and

(01:09:29):
I think that really has a lot todo with it.
But yeah, I mean I only watchedthe first episode of free red,
like very long, like when itfirst came out, and I didn't
pick it up.
I want to watch it because I'veheard it so great and like I
know that was supposed to be thefront runner as just a series.
So I know a lot of people were, were disappointed, and I know
the other series that youmentioned is is is good.

(01:09:50):
I hear good things.
It's in season two.
It's got to be good.
I love a good romance thing too, so it's right down my lane.
There's just so much to consume.
I'm so sorry it's a lot ofanime.

Speaker 1 (01:10:03):
A lot of anime.

Speaker 3 (01:10:05):
Phil, anything you wanted to chime in on those
three.

Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
No, we already kind of, you know, talked about the
live action stuff.
We have done that already.
Yeah, I have seen some of thediscourse on twitter in terms of
solo leveling, just winningthat much, and it's something I
just kind of have to like lookinto.
I know some people were upset, but I mean, when everybody has
their favorites, especially withsomething as passionate, I'll

(01:10:29):
say, as the anime fan base, youknow people are going to get
upset and I think that's justkind of inevitable, especially
when you tie an award to it.
So that's kind of what happens.

Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
I really don't like awards overall, because acting
is already a competition and theaward should be getting cast or
even getting the audition.
I'm just going to say that Anyactors who are listening right
now to this, that is the awardto actually audition.
So I don't know, that's just me, that's just me, I feel good.

Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
That's fair Sid did you have any stories other than
the solo leveling one you justmentioned?
You were going to tie in there.
That was your only extra one.
Pretty much, yeah, Okay.
No, that's totally fair, ForDidn't Make the Cut.
I will do our Discord roundup.
So, if you're on the wait forit, account on our discord.
We have a pop culture newschannel where we go over a lot

(01:11:24):
of the stories and we're justkind of sharing them as the
month goes on.
So here are a couple thatdidn't get mentioned and at the
end, if anybody wants to chimein, we'll do the same thing.
Before getting to our game ofthe evening, First and foremost,
one of the first things thatcame out in the month of May was
that Jeremy Renner turned downHawkeye season two, allegedly

(01:11:45):
due to the fact that he wasoffered a half of the amount
that he did for season one.
Whether or not that has to dowith his like life altering
injury that happened in the lastyear or two is up for debate,
but nevertheless it looks likethat will not be happening and
for season one being prettydecent, kind of a disappointment

(01:12:05):
.
Alex Garland is set to directElden Ring, the film for A24.
That is in the works A24,pretty prestigious Alex Garland
big fan of him as a director forsome of the stuff he's done.
Elden Ring is a movie,Interesting to say the least.
Peacock now is going to be alsodoing the Office, a follow-up

(01:12:27):
series, or doing a follow-upseries for the Office called the
Paper, and it's going to bepremiering this fall.
Phil, would love to get yourthoughts with everything you're
seeing, if you're excited in theslightest, Warner Bros has
announced that they are going tochange the name from Max, which
was originally HBO Max, back toHBO Max.

(01:12:50):
Your biggest news of the summerMichael J Fox is returning to
acting with a guest starringrole on the upcoming third
season of Apple TV's Shrinking.
Phil, I know you're going to bevery happy.
Would love to get your thoughtson that.
Doomsday and Dune 3, as of thismoment, are going to release on
the same day, December of 2026,which is nuts.

(01:13:13):
And then finally, as Imentioned earlier in the episode
, HBO announced the key rolesfor Harry Potter Hermione
Granger and Ron Weasley.
So that series has officiallycasted its main three characters
, three kids that are going tobe doing this for quite a long
time.
So those are my stories, Phil.
Hawkeye season two no, JeremyRenner Elden Ring movie.
So Hawkeye season two, no,Jeremy Renner Elden Ring movie.

(01:13:37):
The Paper, the Office, followup series HBO Max, Michael J Fox
, Doomsday, Dune three and theHarry Potter casting Any thing
you want to take there.

Speaker 4 (01:13:50):
Yeah, you know I always rapid fire these.
So Hawkeye season two is abummer because Marvel needs to
take advantage of Haley Seinfeldand Florence Pugh together
immediately after the year thatthey have had the Elden Ring
movie.
I just think that's kind offunny, because last week's
weekly thought was which videogame should never be adapted
into a movie or a TV show.
And shout out to Servo, who isalways in our Discord.

(01:14:13):
He said Elden Ring and then aday later the news that the
Elden Ring movie was being madecame out.
I thought that was really funny.
Um, in the photo of the paperwhich is the office spinoff,
oscar Martinez is in that photoand I really want to know how he
ended up being.
He was, I think, a citycounselor or running for city
council at the end of the officeand now he's working at a

(01:14:36):
failing newspaper company.
So I really want to know whathappened to his life there.
Hbo Max, pick a fucking laneman.
Michael J Fox in Shrinking isincredible.
Shrinking season two.
Shrinking was my favorite showof 2024, eric, I think that was
a surprise for you whenever wedid our end of the year awards.
Every single episode ofShrinking makes me cry, and it's

(01:14:57):
a good cry and it is anoutstanding show and one of the
best on television.
Doomsday in Dune, goodbyeBarbenheimer, hello Doomsday.
And then the Harry Potter roles.
I don't really care.
I just really hope the best forthose kids and also that cast
that have to deal with whateverbacklash comes from rabid Harry

(01:15:17):
Potter fans, because I don'tknow that they're ever happy.

Speaker 3 (01:15:21):
That's definitely true.
We'll go to Sid first, any ofthose stories, any at all, that
you would like to chime in on,and by all means, again, you do
not have to hit each one.
Any of them that caught yourattention, though.

Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
I don't remember them .
There were a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
That's okay, jeremy Renner, in Hawkeye, season 2.
Elden Ring, hold on, let's doit this way, I'll read them off.

Speaker 4 (01:15:45):
and then you just say pass or give us a second.

Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
First is pass.

Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
Okay, elden Ring movie.

Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
That sounds absurd.
Sounds absurd.
I don't like the thought ofthat.
They've already ruinedBorderlands movie Like that was
horrendous, heinous actually.
I don't even want to know whatthey're going to do with Elden
Ring.

Speaker 4 (01:16:06):
Yeah, like Eric said, the director is really good, so
we'll see that is fair.

Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
I do think that that's a good thing.
But like I'm just like what arethey going to do?
What can you do?

Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
The paper, the office spinoff are they gonna do?

Speaker 2 (01:16:19):
what can you do?
The paper, the office spin-offdid we really need that?
I kind of liked how theywrapped up.
I mean, I'm not opposed, Iloved the office.
I loved the office.
Like I would be down to checkit out for sure.
But like, especially with whatyou said about oscar, like I'm
like what are they pulling here?

Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
yep, uh, hbo max changing its name back to HBO
Max just no words.

Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
Not even a pass, but just no words.

Speaker 4 (01:16:42):
Michael J Fox returning to acting for
Shrinking.

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
I haven't watched Shrinking.
I would like to check it out.

Speaker 4 (01:16:48):
Avengers, doomsday and Dune Part 3 coming out on
the same day as of right now.
Pretty cool, pretty neat, longday at the theater.
It's going to be like 9 hours.
Harry Potter getting ready tostart up with live action I
don't even know.
Pretty cool, pretty neat, along day at the theater.
It's gonna be like nine hours.
Uh, harry potter, uh, gettingready to start up with live
action.

Speaker 2 (01:17:01):
I don't even do live action I I'm not really in that
space, exactly.
Uh like not that I didn't enjoyharry potter when I was younger
and all that kind of stuff andthe books themselves and
whatever, but I don't understandwhy they're redoing.

Speaker 4 (01:17:13):
I just don't understand and I don't know why,
but we'll talk about it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Yeah, that's another thing That'll probably be an
after the recording.

Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
We'll talk with the Weight Watchers.
All right, josh, you're up,we'll start from the beginning.
Once again, jeremy Rennerturned down Hawkeye Season 2.

Speaker 1 (01:17:29):
That's disappointing because I like Renner, he's a
great actor and for him to getoffered half I my thoughts, but
we're not going to say them hereand Lock Eye.

Speaker 4 (01:17:42):
Like Eric said, the first season is pretty good it
is, I enjoyed it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:47):
Hayley did well.
Yeah, I mean, they had a lot inthat series that people weren't
expecting.
So you know it was great, itwas good.
So you know it was great, itwas good.

Speaker 4 (01:17:59):
Elden Ring movie being produced by A24.

Speaker 1 (01:18:07):
First of all correct me if I'm wrong, but in From
Software Games the maincharacter doesn't speak.
So what the fuck?
What does that mean?
like what are we just gonna seemillennia talk the whole time
like I, I don't know?

(01:18:27):
Uh, a24 though I, I I'velearned to not to.
I I watch.
I watch the whale, if that wasfrom A24.
That made me cry.
They're making the Back Roomsmovie too.
So there's that, the SmashingMachine.
You know it's.
Yeah, I trust A24 and Alex.

(01:18:49):
They're going to do a great job, but that's a stretch man,
that's a challenge.

Speaker 4 (01:18:54):
I trust them with weird shit, so we'll see.
Yeah, the Paper, the officespinoff.

Speaker 1 (01:18:59):
I feel bad because I never got into the office.
A lot of my friends were intothe office.
I was a Parks and Rec guy, butI like the dry humor at times
from the office.
So you know, I don't know, Idon't know.
We'll see what happens If ithas the same humor.
I don't even know how that willhit, because then it's just
like oh, you're just trying tocopy the Office.

(01:19:21):
It's just like but we're aspinoff.
But you know, it's like shouldwe be something different?
Should we be the same?
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:19:30):
HBO Max.

Speaker 1 (01:19:31):
Turning back to HBO Max make a decision, stop being
indecisive.

Speaker 4 (01:19:37):
Michael J Fox returning to acting for
Shrinking.

Speaker 1 (01:19:40):
I love Michael J Fox.
He was one of the first actorsthat I ever watched growing up
Back to the Future, amazing Oneof my inspirations.

Speaker 4 (01:19:51):
Amazing in Scrubs.
He is amazing in Scrubs.
He was in Scrubs oh yeah, hedid like a three or four episode
run in Scrubs Incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
Oh my gosh, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:20:01):
He did another sitcom too.
What was it?
Yeah, what was it?
Spin City?
That sounds right yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:07):
He did a sitcom.
Yeah, he did a sitcom.
He's just amazing.
I have not watched that show, but I need to watch it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
Avengers, doomsday and Dune, part 3.

Speaker 1 (01:20:19):
Oh man, first of all, I'm just crazy.
I don't know how RDJ is back, but I mean, I'm here for it.
I'm an Iron man main.
That's crazy.
Barbenheimer, part 2, basicallyyeah.

Speaker 4 (01:20:37):
Be a good day.
And then Harry Potter, theirnew live action gearing up, and
we have our.
We have our Ron, Harry andHermione.

Speaker 1 (01:20:47):
I feel bad for those kids because they're talented
kids and you know, all theactors on that, on that squad,
are talented.
Nick Frost is on that cast too,by the way.

Speaker 4 (01:21:00):
Who else is on there?
Eric, the guy who was a Trinitykiller.

Speaker 3 (01:21:05):
Yeah, he's playing Dumbledore.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:21:09):
Wait, john Lithgow.
John Lithgow, Third Rock fromthe Sun, that's how I know him.

Speaker 4 (01:21:15):
Yeah, I went to serial killer.

Speaker 1 (01:21:29):
Third Rock from the Sun.
That's crazy.
He's a person.
That's that's how I know him.
Yeah, I went to.
I went to a serial killer realquick.
Yeah, I just those kids aregonna have a hard time,
especially nowadays with socialmedia, and I know they're trying
to do stuff with diversity.
I love diversity, um, but Idon't know how the harry potter
fans are going to deal with that.
They haven't been dealing withit so far, really well, yeah, I
just hope the best for thoseactors because they don't
deserve the hate their talentgot in there.

(01:21:50):
So you know, yeah, I agree.

Speaker 4 (01:21:55):
Well, there we have it, eric.
Discord roundup.
Anything else we need to goover?
Did you have anything that youwanted to mention, or are we
ready for some kahooting?

Speaker 3 (01:22:05):
No, we are good.
The last thing we need to do istalk about the Last of Us,
which is why we're going to do aseparate bonus stream to talk
about that.
So yeah, by the time thisepisode comes out, take a look
at our socials.
Follow us on Discord.
We'll let you know when we'regoing to do that, because we've
got a lot to say about theseason finale of Season 2 of the

(01:22:25):
Last of Us.

Speaker 4 (01:22:27):
Yeah, just the show in general we're actually going
to talk about.
So, yeah, excited to do that.
But all right, contestants,I'll be sharing my screen here
Now.
You can do this on your phone,or you can do it.
If you have like a secondmonitor, you can do it there as
well, but the question will beup on the screen.
So can everybody see the screen?

(01:22:48):
Okay, everybody, everybody,good.
Okay, josh, can you see thescreen?
All right, yes, okay.
I'll be reading out the questionhere.
So we're going to play someKahoot.
I don't know who is from.
It sounds like Sid knows whatKahoot is.
Josh, have you ever playedKahoot before?
Uh, when I was in studentgovernment, we used it all the

(01:23:08):
time it's always it's alwayssomeone's like yeah, I did this
in school and sometimes peopleare excited.
Sometimes it gives people PTSD,so it's nice to see which side
people fall on.
But yeah, I should be able toenter in that pin code and then
I got to figure out a new name, since I lost as Benedict Eagle.

(01:23:28):
That's true.
Yeah, how did you come up withthat name, by the way?
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
I don't remember, I don't remember how we did it.

Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
All right, Eric has won this.
I think twice.
He did have his crown takenlast month.
Yeah, I believe by, was it Kate?

Speaker 3 (01:23:52):
Kate.
Yeah kicked our ass yeah.
And I don't remember who wonthe last one with the host.
Did I win that one?
Oh, with the hosts, what do youmean?
Andrew J, emily, did I win?

Speaker 4 (01:24:05):
that one.
Oh yeah, kate won the firsttime.
Did Emily not win, or was it?
I don't remember, I don'tremember, I remember losing I
really got to keep track of thewinners.
You really should.
I probably pitch a pitch.
That's got to be Sid.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Good guess, all right .

Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
Waiting on one more, which is crazy, I don't know why
.

Speaker 3 (01:24:28):
Okay, we'll pitch a pitch.
We'll do that.
Check.
I guess we'll just go with it.

Speaker 4 (01:24:33):
Okay, all right, everybody.
So can I move this over herenow?
No, I can't.
It's all you can't.
Ah, okay, no, all right,everybody.
So you will answer on yourphone.
There are a couple of differentgames on here, so some of them
are multiple choice.
Some of them you will type youranswer in.
Eric's favorite there is the,the scale, where you have to

(01:24:57):
adjust the scale on your phone.
So the question will be likehow many Pokemon are there?
And then on your phone you'llsee 100 to 150 or whatever, and
you will slide your phone to thenumber that you think is the
correct answer.
You do get points for beingclose.
There is a game where you haveto put things in order from like
newest to oldest, somethinglike that.

(01:25:18):
And then there's also a gamewhere you have to put things in
order from like newest to oldest, something like that.
And then there's also a gamewhere you will place a pin on a
photo as far as what you thinkthe answer is.
So it's very, very simple.
You have, I believe, 30 secondsfor most of these and 60
seconds for some of them, soplenty of time.
You also get more points thefaster you answer, so keep that
in mind For those of you thatare the listening audience.

(01:25:38):
Once again, it is suggestedthat you head on over to our
YouTube page and check this out, because there is a visual
element Contestants everybodyready.

Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
Yes, absolutely.

Speaker 4 (01:25:49):
I think so I'm more confident in this than I was in
Jeopardy.
In Jeopardy.
Yes, alright, here we go.
I don't know why the theme isat home.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
I forgot to change the theme.

Speaker 4 (01:26:02):
Okay, pretty cozy, All right question number one is
multiple choice.
We have a quiz.
Which of these items is notavailable on Jollibee?

Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
menus.
Oh my, I was just talking aboutthis.

Speaker 4 (01:26:12):
Chicken tenders, spaghetti, peach, mango pie or
fish filet, which of these isnot available on Jollibee menus?

Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Went with my instinct .
There you go.

Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
Yeah, try to get people a spaghetti.
Sometimes people are surprisedby the spaghetti.

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
I'm Filipino.
I should know this, yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:26:31):
And Eric.
Every time he comes overthere's a Jollibee right down
the street, so he stops atJollibee.

Speaker 2 (01:26:34):
Every time.
The next time I come down there, I'm going to have to visit.
I want to try Jollibee so bad.

Speaker 4 (01:26:39):
Yes, we will go.
It's a goodie.
All right, scoreboard.
Come on, come on, come on.
All right, we got that trick inthe lead, but everybody close.
Next question is a sliderEric's favorite.
Wow.
This one-of was oh my god, thepicture isn't here.
Oh, there it is.
This Pikachu card was bought bythis turd.
For how much money?

(01:26:59):
It's somewhere between 5.1 and5.5 million dollars.
That's how much he spent onthis Pokemon card.
How much did this piece of shitpay for this card?
He is a piece of shit, I'msorry.
Alright, let's see who wasclosest.

Speaker 1 (01:27:14):
Come on, come on, come on, come on, no, no, no, no
, come on who put 5.2?

Speaker 4 (01:27:20):
Me.
Let's see if you get.
Is that close enough?
It's 5.25.
Oh, it's just outside of the no, are you joking?
Damn it.
5.25 million.
He paid for that card.
It is a one-of-a-kind cardbecause it's a PSA 10.
So they only released a certainamount of the cards and get

(01:27:42):
this guys he had a PSA 9 of thatcard and he traded it in for
that and he paid like 2 millionfor that card.

Speaker 3 (01:27:50):
So he is just buying up all the expensive cards Must
be nice Must be nice to havethat much money.

Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
It was close, Sid, you got close.
No change in the scoreboardthere.
Alright, let's get to the nextquestion, which is a puzzle.
So you'll put these things inorder.
Place the Hunger Games books inrelease order from first to
most recent.
Put the Hunger Games books inrelease order from first to most
recent.
Oh crap, you got 60 secondshere, so From first to most

(01:28:17):
recent.
Oh crap, you got 60 seconds here.
So well, 45 left now, but yougot a lot of time.
Someone's already answered.
Did I misunderstand?
All right, well, nobody got itright, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (01:28:30):
I was like Walking days before catching fire.

Speaker 4 (01:28:33):
Yes, oh wait, oh shit , yeah, that's what I was like.

Speaker 3 (01:28:36):
Hold on oh wait.

Speaker 4 (01:28:36):
Oh shit, yeah that's what I was like Hold on, oh,
that might be wrong.
Yeah, that's wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:28:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:28:42):
What, what.
Okay, well, I'll add points onif it's close at the end.

Speaker 3 (01:28:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:28:50):
I had like an extra time bonus.
You asshole.
I know what happened, okay, well, that's my bad, because I
literally fell All.

Speaker 3 (01:28:58):
I did was move one thing, and then I pressed it.
I was like, hello, is that howI did it?
Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 4 (01:29:03):
Well, that's my bad.
If it comes to it, we'll figurethat out at the end.

Speaker 3 (01:29:08):
You better hope for a blowout.

Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
Somebody please pull up.
It's going to be of the oldones.
You know what, Eric?
I know exactly what I will do.
No, no, please don't do it.
Please don't do that, Ericplease don't, all right, type
this answer out.
Which movie is this?
A photo will slowly appear, ifI did it correctly.
Okay, there we go.

(01:29:30):
What movie is this, oh man.
And for those of you listening,a photo is slowly revealing
itself on the screen.
What film is this man?
You got about 10 seconds leftfor the last person.
All right, oh gosh, I don'tknow.

(01:29:55):
All right, two of you put getout there.
We't know Get out, all right.
Two of you put get out, here wego.

Speaker 2 (01:30:01):
Darn it Is that right though Was that right.

Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
It is yeah, that was right.
Oh, my God.

Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
I'm really shocked with myself, to be honest.

Speaker 1 (01:30:07):
Sid, you guessed that .
Yeah, it was get out.
I'm really shocked.
I put IDK, all I put IDK.

Speaker 4 (01:30:16):
All right, let's get the scoreboard.
We got some movement here.
Whoop that trick.
Still in the lead, but Sidright behind and I believe in
Joe Hendry still sitting inthird.
But it only takes one answerand then two incorrect answers
from your competitors to getback into it.
We have a pin.
The answer which of thesecommunity characters was written

(01:30:36):
off first?
Which of these characters waswritten off the show first?
Oh man, so go ahead and dropyour pin where you think the
answer is on which character.

Speaker 3 (01:30:49):
Who the fuck is that?

Speaker 2 (01:30:51):
I keep forgetting to hit submit.

Speaker 4 (01:30:53):
All right, nobody got this right.

Speaker 3 (01:30:57):
It's not.

Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Abed Elroy or Frankie .

Speaker 3 (01:30:59):
I don't know who the fuck, frankie oh.

Speaker 4 (01:31:02):
Frankie showed up very, very late in the season.

Speaker 3 (01:31:05):
Oh, that's what?
Yeah, I don't know who that isIn the show.

Speaker 4 (01:31:07):
Pierce is the first one that got written off because
Chevy Chase was hurling racistslurs all over the set.
So they got rid of him first, killed him off, and then next
was Troy, which was, of course, donald Glover, because he became
a big star.
