Did I Miss, where we catch youup on everything that happened
in the past 30 days in popculture.
And we brought two wonderfulfriends and artists along for
the ride that we haven't seen inyears.

SPEAKER_04 (00:58):
It's been so long since we've seen these two
members of the Pink Pony Club.
Uh, you if you don't know whatthat is, you gotta be there.
You had to be there.
I don't know what to tell you.
I'm not gonna I'm not gonnaelaborate anymore on that.
But yeah, very excited for theSeptember edition of What Did I
Miss?
As we have two guests here thatwe are very excited to hang out
with again after spending awonderful weekend in Ocala,

(01:19):
Florida, at Ocala Comic-Con,eating way too much Tonies and
uh just having a good time atthe convention.
So let's bring in and introduceour first guest who is a
first-timer here on What Did IMiss.
She has also been featured onCreator Spotlight here within
the past couple of months.
Lilane ArtGeek.
Lelane, thank you so much forbeing here tonight.
How are you?
And yeah, thanks for hanging outwith us tonight.

SPEAKER_00 (01:41):
Thank you for having me for my first What Did I Miss
episode.
I'm so glad to and happy to talkabout um everything in this
episode, anything pop culture, especially the one I've been
thinking of in um in the past,I'd say, like a couple of days.
So I'm really happy to share ithere.
And yeah, thank you for havingme, guys.

SPEAKER_04 (02:01):
Yeah, of course.
Uh any um opportunity when wehave a good time with our guests
to get to bring them back on andhave fun with this episode.
And uh, this episode is not newto our other guest who
graciously uh is joining usagain for the second time in
2025.
Again, I I believe this is histhird time.
I'll have to go back and check.
Uh, but Ivan Patch.

(02:23):
Ivan, thank you so much forbeing here again.
How are you doing tonight?
And are you ready?
You're a you're a what did Imiss veteran?
You know how this goes.

SPEAKER_02 (02:30):
Uh a veteran.
It's been like, I mean, it'sbeen a while though.
So, I mean, yeah, I've done itbefore.
And by the way, I almost muted Ialmost muted my mic just now by
accident.
So you hysterically, and Ifigured it out, and then he
unmuted me, and I was like, oh,I almost muted myself.

SPEAKER_07 (02:46):
Okay, so we're in the pre-show and you don't know
how to mute.
Then I I unmute you because Imuted you and it's my fault.
Okay.

SPEAKER_02 (02:52):
I figured it out in the in between that time.

SPEAKER_07 (02:56):
How was I supposed to know that?

SPEAKER_02 (02:57):
Also, I know you're but I was about to accidentally
do it.

SPEAKER_07 (03:00):
Also, you're sure just saying like Garfield's
lasagna is like very like bold.
I just wanted to let you know itdistracted me.
Okay, should I duck?

SPEAKER_02 (03:08):
I don't know what you want me to do.
Where's Garfield?
Uh what?
Okay, Garfield's right there.
Oh, there they go.
Okay.
That's all.
I just wanted to get a visual.
That was all.
Okay.
Well, I'm happy to be back.
Okay.
There you go.

SPEAKER_04 (03:22):
Yes, uh, it's off to a great start uh as you kind of
get the general vibe of what didI miss?
It is once again our bonusepisode that we do every single
month where we bring in a coupleof guests and we just talk about
everything pop culture that youmay have missed in the previous
month.
Eric was going through theDiscord roundup here before we
got started.
September was a crazy month, soI'm sure we'll have a lot to

(03:43):
talk about and discuss here forthe episode.
If you are an audio onlylistener, we certainly suggest
that you watch the video versionof the podcast once we get to
the game.
There are some visual elementsto that.
Um, but other than otherwise, wethank you so much for joining us
and make sure you stick aroundat the very end.
We'll let you know you can findeverything in regards to Lilane,
Ivan, and the podcast.

(04:03):
But Eric, it's that time, man.
It's that time of the month.

SPEAKER_07 (04:08):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (04:10):
Here we get to bring up your favorite part here.
And we decide who gets to gofirst.

SPEAKER_07 (04:18):
Yeah.
So uh Ivan Ivan knows the drill.
So, Lilane, this message isspecifically for you.
This is the wheel where we'regonna spin and decide who gets
to go first.
Uh, and if you only have onestory, you better hope it's you.
So we're gonna count down andthen we're gonna say spin that
wheel.
Phil will spin the wheel, andthen that person will go.
That cadence is gonna be I'mgonna count down three, two,

(04:41):
one, and then all of us aregonna simultaneously say spin
that wheel.
So as you both come off mute, ready to give us your best spin
that wheel.
Lelane, do you have anyquestions?
Is that okay, okay?
Just I I warned you.
I warned you.
Uh so guys, we're gonna jumpinto this now.

(05:02):
I'm gonna count down three, two, one, and then we're all gonna
say spin that wheel.
Three, two, one, spin! Wheel!Yeah, we all did a great job.
That wasn't bad at all.

SPEAKER_02 (05:21):
No one caught my stutter.
That was good.

SPEAKER_08 (05:26):
I didn't want to go first.

SPEAKER_04 (05:30):
The wheel knew.
The wheel knows.
So, Ivan, what do you got forus?
What did we miss in September?

SPEAKER_02 (05:38):
Okay, so just to give a little pretext, I've been
back.
So like every every year I havelike a I go through like phases
of like, oh, I'm only watchingmovies in anime, or I'm reading
and watching anime, and andvideo games only or whatever.
So I'm in my video game era inthe year again, so like I'm
paying attention too much tolike what's coming out, even

(05:59):
though I can't afford all thesethings.
But either way, so point is isthat like I saw that this month
we had a lot of announcementsfor video games, whether they're
coming out soon or like nextyear.
So my first story is I don'tknow how to pronounce the game,
I always pronounce it wrong, soI apologize if I technically if
I'm saying it wrong, but it's uhNeo 3.

(06:21):
It's like it's uh I don't knowif anyone knows what it is, but
um, it's like the um it's like asamurai game, but you're dealing
with like yokai and demons andstuff like that.
So like they announced a thirdone, and I didn't even know a
third one was coming.
Uh they announced it forFebruary 2026, so I'm like,
that's already pretty soon,considering I didn't hear

(06:41):
anything of it before, or maybeI'm just behind.
But for anyone who doesn't know,it's like a it's kind of like a
Dark Souls kind of game, alittle bit.
Like it's always like it's knownto be really difficult.
Um, so like I don't know.
I just I saw the gameplay todayand then the release date
because it was announced, Ithink, today.
If I look it up again, I thinkit said that it was announced,

(07:02):
yeah.
It I well, the couple articles Isaw said that it was announced
today.
So it was like perfect timingbecause I needed something to
talk about.
So but yeah, I I love the firsttwo, even though I didn't beat
the second one, but um, becauseI had to throw the remote a
couple times, but uh it's like Idon't know, I'm really excited,
and there's like differenteditions coming out too, so

(07:22):
which is hard for me because Ialways want all the like cool
stuff, like that one comes likethe one of them comes with like
a treasure box or something likethat.
There's like the steelbookversion and all these different
ones, and and it has like thetreasured one has like an
official art book and then likea desk pad.
I want the art book.
I mean, I always want art books,so but either way, I don't know
if anyone else like and ifanyone's listening plays these

(07:44):
games because like I don't feellike I ever get to talk to
anyone about this this this gamein particular, so but yeah,
yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (07:51):
Neo super popular series.
The last one came out in 2020,the first one came out in 2017.
Uh, they're not games that Ihave played just because I I
know I would be so terrible atthem, especially when it comes
to like the Souls-like genre.
Um, I had to turn the difficultydown on something like Claire
Obscure.
So uh, but I know they are very, very popular, and artistically,
Eric, it has always beensomething that stands out as far

(08:13):
as like like you said, Ivan, youknow, like the samurai aesthetic
and everything like that.
So um, yeah, this isn'tsomething that I'll probably
jump into because again, I knowI will be terrible at, but Eric,
you've been a lot moreexperimental in 2025 as Neo
something, even though I knowlike when it comes to like
numbered editions, you tend tostay away from games that have
already had previous iterations.
But what's that Souls like uh,you know, what's what's that

(08:35):
Souls like journey looking foryou, uh looking like for you
here late 2025?

SPEAKER_07 (08:39):
Yeah, I mean I've gotta play Elden Ring at some
point or another.
That's kind of just the bigdomino that has to fall, I feel,
uh, because it's been a gamethat I've been just like very
wildly interested in from afar.
Uh it's not a genre I normallyjump into, but this looks really
cool.
February release date uhgraphically looks really
awesome.
Uh Dark Samurai action RPG.

(09:00):
You know, like I I think I'm nottoo against jumping into a uh
established franchise if it'swelcoming in.
I mean, I played games likeSkyrim and Fallout, uh, you
know, and those Fallout 3 wasthe first one I played, and I
hadn't felt I missed out on alot not jumping into the earlier
ones.
I I would be curious what thereception is to this game,

(09:25):
because I feel like if it's oneof those games like this year is
crazy for gaming, like theamount of the amount of games
that have come out this yearthat are getting probably game
of the year worthy reviews iscrazy.
Ghost of Yotai right now is out.
I want to play it.
Probably not gonna be able todedicate that much time to it.
But if a game has enough hypearound it, I will push

(09:46):
everything to the side for it.
Maybe this game does that.
Uh, but I feel like I would bedoing a disservice if I'm not
playing Elden Ring by that time.
I've been talking about playingElden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3
as like two pillars of games.
So I feel like if I playanything in those genres, it's
kind of cheating a little bit.
So that that's where I stand onit, Phil.

unknown (10:06):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (10:07):
What about you, Lilane?
Have you do you guys play soulslike games in your household?
Do you like the difficulty, orare you more of uh or you know,
are they not necessarily yourstyle?

SPEAKER_00 (10:18):
So fun fact, Philip, my boyfriend Philip, not the
Phil here.

SPEAKER_02 (10:23):
Um, he was like Oh my god, two people with the same
name.

SPEAKER_00 (10:28):
Hard launch!

SPEAKER_02 (10:31):
Sorry.

SPEAKER_00 (10:32):
He is no, you're good.
He's obsessed with the Soulsgames.
Um he l I think his favorite oneis the third one.
Um I have no idea, but he lovesthe Souls games.
And um usually in our householdwe would sit down and we would
see all of like the gametrailers that would be coming
up.
One of them was the Neo game.

(10:53):
So when Ivan said that, Irecognize it because I saw what
it was yesterday.
Um, and it looked reallyinteresting.
I think Phillips said that hewas interested as well.
Um, so I'm curious to see if hewill eventually play it.
But for Dark Souls, anything,Elden Ring, just he's obsessed.
One 100%.

SPEAKER_04 (11:16):
Yeah, and Neo has always been received very, very
well.
Did you have a preference?
Ivan between one and two.

SPEAKER_02 (11:23):
So I So the problem is that like when I when I
played two, it was in like smallspurts because like I had so
many, so many cons like I wasgetting into, and like, and so
and I played it really late atnight, so I didn't seem to
retain number two too well, likein my head.
But that's not an insult on thegame because I remember like
enjoying it heavily, and I dothink it was more difficult than

(11:45):
the first one, if I remember, but because I got more angry in
the second one, but then again,I didn't finish it, so like that
might have just been theannoyance kicking in.
But like, I mean, uh, I think Ihave more fond memories of the
first one because my brother andI like played it like not
together, but like we played itat the same time, so like it was
like we were playing ittogether, so um, we kind of like

(12:07):
would always freak out about thesame boss, or like I would get
stuck on something and hedidn't.
But he was like, Oh, well, ifyou do this, you avoid that.
And I'm like, Oh, you how thehell did you figure that out?
That kind of thing.
But um, so I have more fondmemories of the first one, but
uh the second one was I meangood on its own.
Like, I I just I don't rememberenough, is the problem.
So, like I wanna go back andplay the second one, uh,

(12:29):
especially to beat it before thethird one comes out.
But with all these games comingout, I don't know how I'm gonna
have time for that.
Um, but like Neo, like inparticular, has all my like like
things that I love, likeaesthetically is literally
everything I love.
Yokai, I love like it's I loveJapanese folklore, so it already
has that.
And then like you give me asword in any game, and I'm

(12:51):
literally going to use it.
Even when we play Halo, I don'tplay it anymore, but when I did
play with my friends, like theyused to get mad because energy
swords.
Yeah, exactly.
I would always use a sword andthey'd be so pissed because I
got really good at it, but notgood with any gun at all.
So you give me a sword, I'mgonna be down.
So um, yeah, I think the firstone I like the most just because

(13:12):
of like nostalgia and like thememories behind it.
But um, the more I look at thethird one, I feel like the more
I'm gonna like the third one thebest.
Even though it has like a Ithink they added like a more
open world like map to it, whichis not usually my favorite
because I don't feel like everygame needs open world, and I
think it's like a staple that isnow becoming like too

(13:32):
commonplace.
But um, I don't know.
I I'll see, I mean I'm gonnalook more into it, and the other
two games haven't disappointedme, so I can't imagine this one
would.
So, but yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (13:42):
Well, before we get into the back to the wheel,
Eric, let's just take a moment,we'll we'll go around the wheel
because 2020 or this you knowthe the table, 2026 is already
gonna be a crazy year forgaming, so obviously Ivan's
excited for Neo 3.
Sometime in quarter one,Assassin's Creed Black Flag
remake is going to come out.
Like, I can't wait to jump backinto that.
2026 is the year of Grand TheftAuto 6.

(14:04):
Uh, there's that really coollooking Pokemon Animal Crossing
game that's coming to the Switch2 that looks really, really
good.
I knew you were gonna be intothat.
I don't know why.
I can't wait for that game.

SPEAKER_02 (14:15):
I was like, Bill's gonna love this.

SPEAKER_04 (14:17):
I cannot wait.
Uh, I mean, maybe the CaptainAmerica Black Panther game.
So, like, I'll throw it to youfirst in the lane.
Like, what are you most excitedfor in 2026?
There's so much cool stuffcoming out.

SPEAKER_00 (14:27):
I'm so happy you mentioned about the Pokemon
Animal Crossing crossover thing.
I definitely want to play that.
Um, and this is gonna soundsilly.
I never played the first versionof this game, but I want to get
Tamadachi too.
I really want to play that oneas well.
Um there's another game Idefinitely want to play.

(14:49):
Can I just say right now, I willbe honest here, and I'll admit
it here on the podcast.
I'm so sad they never gave anymore Professor Leighton updates.
I'm sorry.
I'm so sad.

SPEAKER_02 (15:01):
I saw that and I felt bad for you.

SPEAKER_00 (15:03):
I was like, oh Ivan, I remember when um Ivan sent me
a reel of like the trailer, andI was like, is it coming out
this year?
And I realized it's just the oldtrailer, and I'm like, they
better sh they better havesomething for me.
I swear to god, and they didn't,so I'm like sad.

SPEAKER_04 (15:20):
The fact that they got those games to run on a DS
is like magic because they'rebeautiful, they're so detailed.
I worked at GameStop when thesegames were coming out, and they
were always like flying off theshelf.
People would pre-order them, andyeah, that's a bummer.
Professional Layton also seemslike something that would very
much lend itself to an animatedshow, um, like a revamp, like

(15:41):
like coming out now.
So yeah, but um yeah, Eric, whatabout you?
What's what's number one on thatlist?
I mean, 2026 is gonna be wethought 2025 is crazy.
2026 is probably gonna be evenmore nuts, and and we're not
even taking into account gameslike a clear obscure, they're
gonna come out of nowhere, andwe're gonna be like, oh shit,
let's play this now.

SPEAKER_07 (15:57):
I mean, that's what I'm kind of looking at here.
I mean, uh it was one of thestories that was probably gonna
fall into didn't make the cut,but I mean the wool that
Wolverine trailer just came out,so I mean that's totally forgot
about that.

SPEAKER_04 (16:08):
That's how crazy 2026 is gonna be Wolverine.

SPEAKER_02 (16:10):
Full fall 2026.
That was actually my otherstory.
What was it?
We're doing all we're doingvideo games right now.
We're all gonna do that.
We're covering video games.
I saw the trailer today, andhonestly, like I was a little
hesitant at first, only becauselike I just feel like we it's
kind of like with Batman, we getan oversaturation, and like I

(16:33):
love Batman, don't get me wrong.
And I love I do like Wolverine alot, but I just feel like we got
such an oversaturation, so likeI just didn't care at first when
it was announced, but now I sawthe trailer, I'm like, oh yeah,
I kind of want to slash somepeople up.

SPEAKER_07 (16:47):
Yeah, I mean, I had to mention it uh because it is
it is a game that obviously wedidn't know if we were gonna get
it all, which is what I feellike a lot of games that could
come out in 2026 could be like.
This year feels like there'sbeen a bunch of games that have
just been like either in earlyaccess for so long or were hyped
up for so long, like a silksong, like uh just now a Hades 2

(17:09):
uh getting version 1 release.
So there's uh there's gonna begames like that.
The the one I'll mention is uhas my definitely number one game
is Flay the Spire 2.
Uh it got pushed into 2026, andI'm very excited, bummed that it
didn't come out this year.
Uh, but going into early access,I believe, next year, and I'm
excited to uh to give that atry.
I don't go into early access fora lot of games, I will be for

(17:31):
that one.

SPEAKER_04 (17:32):
Yeah, and then for me, if it comes out next year, I
don't think that it will.
I think it will probably be morelikely 2027.
But if Jap Jurassic ParkSurvival comes out and it's
good, um, that is definitely theone I am looking forward to very
much.
Um, luckily, Eric, I will haveJurassic World Evolution 3 to
play from October 21st uhthroughout all of 2026 and

(17:54):
nothing else.
So that question actuallydoesn't apply to me.
I'm not playing anything else.

SPEAKER_07 (17:58):
Have you even started The Wolf Among Us?
Is the real question.

SPEAKER_02 (18:04):
Insane, man.
I haven't super.

SPEAKER_04 (18:06):
I bought it on PlayStation because it was$7.
So I do have to.
Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_07 (18:09):
It's next month, it's next month's episode that
we're gonna be recording in liketwo to three weeks, but it's
okay.
Uh so the wheel.
You guys know the drill.
You know what to do.
We're gonna go ahead and do ittogether.
We're gonna count down three, two, one.
We're gonna say spin that wheel.
It actually went pretty well thefirst time.
So let's see what the wheel doesto us now.
We're gonna count down.

(18:30):
We're gonna go three, two, one.

SPEAKER_03 (18:34):
Spin!

SPEAKER_04 (18:39):
Lila didn't even come off mute.
That was one of the worst ones.

SPEAKER_08 (18:44):
I'm sorry.
That was that was it's okay.

SPEAKER_04 (18:45):
Lelane was just watching.
Oh look at that, Erica.
It didn't what it said we neverit never does.

SPEAKER_07 (18:52):
Fun fact, Lilaine didn't go off mute the last
time.
I unmuted her because I noticedas I counted down, she was in
off mute.
But this time Ivan was alsomuted, and I got overwhelmed.
I was like, I can't unmute twopeople and count.

SPEAKER_00 (19:04):
I wasn't sure who was gonna do it first, so we'll
do it next time.

SPEAKER_07 (19:08):
It's okay.
Uh Phil, who who got the wheels?
Was it you?

SPEAKER_04 (19:12):
I did.
I did.
Uh I did, yes.
I will go with this one becauseI know everybody enjoyed
Superman.
So this is uh first details onMan of Tomorrow, which will be
out in 2027.
Um, because James Gunn hasrevealed that uh he has
confirmed that Superman and LexLuthor will work together
against a much bigger threat forthe next Superman movie.

(19:35):
In previous interviews, Gunn hasteased that uh the next his next
writer-director movie wasn'tgoing to uh be a straight-up
Superman sequel, and now we knowwhy.
Man, and tomorrow we'll seeSuperman and Lex Luther team up
to face a greater threat.
Gunn revealing, quote, it's asmuch a Lex movie as it is a
Superman movie.
Um he was speaking to about thefilm on Howard Stern on Sirius

(19:58):
XM, confirming that shootingwill begin in April 2026 and
release in on July 9th, 2027,uh, just two years after the
first Superman came out, whichis crazy to be back in that kind
of um release schedule formovies again.
It's gonna be out in two years,uh, which is a relatively short
time between sequels, because weknow it's gonna uh we knew
immediately where we were going, and it's a story about Lex

(20:18):
Luther and Superman having towork together to a certain
degree against a much, muchbigger threat.
And it's more complicated thanthat, and as much uh it's as
much a Lex movie as it is aSuperman movie.
Also, the current season ofPeacemaker, he has said, is
literally a direct tie-in to thebeginning of Man of Tomorrow.
So they are they have a plan.
James Gunn is executing italmost to perfection.

(20:40):
Let's uh it's gone great so far.
So yeah, let's throw it toLelane first.
Are you excited about the secondSuperman movie?
I know we talked about it atlength and on like Instagram and
stuff, and we've just talkedabout it in general, it's been
very popular amongst this group.
It was a really, really funfilm.
So yeah, excited for that.
And like, what do you thinkabout you know, Lex and Superman
teaming up?

SPEAKER_00 (21:00):
First off, I had no idea that was happening.
So I am very curious um to watchthat unfold.
Um, but no, I I think we've seenthe movie probably like three
times in theaters.
It's I haven't had fun in asuperhero movie like that in
such a long time.

(21:21):
Um, so I'm very glad that we gotthis movie.
I feel like we all needed thismovie at one point.
Um, and yeah, no, I'm reallyexcited.
And I know that um Supergirl iscoming out 2026.
Like next year.
Because I'm excited for that aswell.
Because um I know that I thinkwhat Philip described was he and

(21:48):
I also appreciate that they aretrying to follow like the comic
books, because I think JamesGunn is a really big comic book
fan, so he's truly trying tomake it like authentic to like
the story from the comic book.
So I as someone who doesn't readcomic books, I respect that.
Um, but just for any Supermanmovie from James Gunn or any

(22:08):
movie from James Gunn now atthis point, I'm really excited
for.

SPEAKER_04 (22:12):
Yeah, Supergirl, she is 21 in this universe, she's
just gonna be like this unhingedparty girl.
Can't wait for that.
So yeah, Ivan, what do youthink?
Um, I I really love NicholasHolt.
I wasn't the biggest fan of thisLex, but I I do I am excited to
see them team up in the futureand whatever is next for this

(22:34):
character.
So, yeah, what do you thinkabout this news about Man of
Tomorrow?
Also, that we're getting it twoyears after the first film.
Like, how awesome is that?

SPEAKER_02 (22:40):
Yeah, I didn't think it was gonna be that soon.
Like, I thought we would getSupergirl and we'd get one of
the other like other characters, and then maybe Superman will
come up and run that.

SPEAKER_04 (22:50):
Lanterns have a show, so that kind of fills in
that gap too.

SPEAKER_02 (22:54):
Yeah, so like I am excited.
Like, I honestly, as you weresaying it earlier and I was on
mute, like anyone who's watchingthe video who watches the video
version, like they'll see melike giddy.
Cause like I'm like honestly, Ilove the movie.
I saw it like four times intheaters.
I I want to say five, but Ican't recall the fifth time, but

(23:14):
I watch it a lot, and um I meanI'm assuming they're gonna band
together to fight Brainiac.
I'm hoping it's Brainiac, andlike I love Brainiac, so like
I'm down with it.
And Superman and Lex have teamedup in the comics before, like
it's happened, so like I'mtotally fine to see that too.
And considering how likeNicholas's hold Nicholas Holt's

(23:34):
like Lex was towards Superman, especially at the end, like, and
then to have to make them teamup, like like I I'm down with
that dynamic.
I'm sure we're gonna see likebanter from them, obviously.
Um, so yeah, no, I'm excited100%.
And the fact that it's twoyears, that is that's so soon.
That feels soon, but like I'mgonna assume it'll be delayed at

(23:54):
some point, at least a littlebit.
Um, just because I don't know,for quality's sake, let's not
rush it.
Um, but yeah, no, I'm I'm 100%excited, so like, yeah, I'm uh
absolutely so yeah, and youknow, Eric Lilane just like
alluded to it.

SPEAKER_04 (24:12):
It it's just nice to have fun in a comic book movie
again, and it's nice to havelike some optimism about a
superhero universe again, youknow.
Like Marvel, we're we're allexpecting Doomsday to just be
this disaster, and it's nice tolook forward to a comic book
movie that was fun.
And you know, I know Idefinitely enjoyed it more than
you did, but you I think we gaveit the same score, we just
enjoyed it for like differentreasons.
So, yeah, I mean Lexin, LexanSuperman again.

(24:35):
I think there's definitely roomfor improvement for Nicholas
Holt.
He's incredibly talent talented.
I think he's gonna pull it off.
But yeah, what do you thinkabout these early details about
Mana Tomorrow?

SPEAKER_07 (24:43):
Yeah, I was about to say you almost lobbied me up,
like I didn't like it.
I was like, I I I saw it twice.
I saw it twice.
Yeah, I saw it three times, too.
I don't know, yeah.
I don't normally see moviestwice, but I really wanted to
solidify that opinion.
Yeah, not like that was not onour bingo card.
Uh so yeah, no, we did see ittwice.
Uh, enjoyed the movie.
It was a it was a fun time.
I think for a movie like this, you want to strike while the

(25:04):
iron is hot.
I do agree though, you don'twant to really oversaturate it.
And you know, we're alreadygetting into you gotta watch
Peacemaker, it's gonna get youinto Man of Tomorrow, you gotta
watch Supergirl.
So, like, unfortunately, I'vealready been out of that MCU
groove.
Do I want to do it for DC?
Time will tell, but Superman wasa great uh first impression to

(25:26):
possibly get me back into thatvibe where I feel like I really
need to connect with theuniverse and see all of the
stories.
I think it'll be good.
I think getting Lex Luthor inthe suit has always been like a
dream for everybody.
Like, that is something peopleare very excited about.
I like Nicholas Holt's uhperformance.
I think there were things aboutwhat they put the character

(25:48):
through, or like he was just alittle too cartoonish, I guess,
is the way I would say it.
Some of the decision making, some of the dialogue, but it's
nothing that was like, I don'twant to see him reprise the
role.
So I'm excited to see more ofhim, flesh him out, and yeah, a
team up movie between the two ofthem.
I wonder how that's gonna work.
Whatever they're doing, at somepoint or another is gonna lead
to a huge Justice League film, right?

(26:10):
So, all of this is just plantingthe seeds for all of that, and
based off the first Superman,I'm along for the ride for now.

SPEAKER_04 (26:18):
Yeah, super excited, and um yeah, can't wait to uh
again.
I'm also like you said, Lillian, very excited for Supergirl.
Um, we will see how that goes.
And also, you know what?
Just give Nathan Fillian his ownNet Lanterns movie.
I don't care about the rest ofthe lanterns, I just want Nathan
Filion for an hour and 45minutes.

SPEAKER_02 (26:39):
He'll defend the haircut.

SPEAKER_07 (26:40):
No, we uh we all want that Jon Stewart.
Uh so no thank you.

SPEAKER_04 (26:44):
That's fair also.
I mean, we didn't even, youknow, but uh yeah, really,
really fun.
But all right, Eric, let's getback to it.

SPEAKER_07 (26:52):
Okay, listen.
Let's see if Lilena, both ofyou.

SPEAKER_00 (26:56):
I'll I'll unmute myself.

SPEAKER_07 (26:58):
That's right.
There we go.
All right, we're gonna countdown, we're gonna do it, and
we're gonna go right into it.

SPEAKER_08 (27:03):
Three, two, one, spin that wheel.

SPEAKER_02 (27:10):
Oh, we said wheel off.
That was not good.
That's okay.

SPEAKER_04 (27:14):
All right, all right.
We're going guest host, guesthost, Eric.
Look at that.
We got we said whatever happensis happening.
We talked so much shit about thewheel, it hurt us.
All right, Lane, you are up.
What did we miss in September?
What you got?

SPEAKER_00 (27:29):
So I have two things, if that's okay, if I can
talk about that.
Um, the first one is I'm notsure if I think there's probably
some listeners on the podcastthat may have seen this already,
but I'm not sure if you threehave seen this.
Um, The Knights of Guinevere.
Um I think hearing.

(27:49):
Um a few days ago, I actuallydon't remember how long it's
been since uploaded, but um Iwatched it five days?
Yeah, so I I'm so incrediblyhappy that the creator of Owl
House decided to just go her ownroute.

(28:09):
Um, I know there's like threeother creators with the pilot as
well, or two other creators, I'msorry.
So three total, and they justdecided to just make their own
show.
And I think it's incredible.
Like I feel I followed Dana'swork for a long time, and I know
that she is very like on themore spookier, scarier side of
with her art.

(28:30):
So the fact that she made apilot with all of these like
spooky, scary elements, and it'sjust so good.
This is her element, this iswhat she's meant meant to do.
Um, and I love it.
I loved the pilot and glitchjust like I I love where like
glitch is taking like indieanimation.
It's like going back to 2Danimation and it's just so so

(28:52):
good.
So if you haven't seen thepilot, I recommend it.
It's the same like um streamingservice as Amazing Digital
Circus.
So it's very like popular um atthe moment.
And then the second one I wantto talk about is the like the
teaser trailer for Hasman Hotelseason two.

(29:13):
Um, I have been looking forwardto this season.
Um, and I know that people havelike mixed reviews about the
show personally.
I love it, and I know that it'snot for everyone, but it means a
lot because I also just likeDana Terrace, I've been
following Vivian Madranoliterally ever since she's been

(29:33):
on DeviantArt.
So I enjoy her shows, even ifit's just like a bunch of curse
words.
I kind of just look past it andum just enjoy the fun of it,
just like Superman.
I just sometimes I watch showsjust for the fun of it.
Um so yeah, season two will becoming out literally two days
before Halloween.
Um we'll see if I can binge itall before the trip to North

(29:58):
Carolina for Elisa.
Wedding, so we'll see.
We'll see.
But yeah, those are my only twothat I can think of, but I'm
very passionate about both.

SPEAKER_04 (30:10):
Yeah, Eric, what do you know?
I've I have never heard of thisKnights of Uh Guinevive, but I'm
looking it up right now.
Like this art style is likestunning.
This so this is on YouTube, isthat correct?
Yeah, that's where you can watchit.
Yeah, and whenever I heardOwlhouse, Eric, I obviously
thought of you.
So what do you know about this?

SPEAKER_07 (30:28):
Yeah, uh, so my son loves Owl House, uh, also loves
the amazing digital circus.
So there's a perfect combinationof all these.
Uh, this actually got put on myradar today.
Uh, we were just scrollingthrough YouTube and uh I checked
uh I checked out uh a little bitof a teaser.
Uh it's described as a sci-fi uhpsychological thriller, and it's
the first 2D animated seriesproduced by Glitch, which is

(30:49):
really cool.
Uh, I guess this came outSeptember 19th.
So only a couple days away fromuh the recording of this
episode.
By the time this thing releases,I probably will have seen it
because again, it's very muchsomething that's in this
household's umbrella of stuffthat we'll put on that we enjoy,
and uh yeah, really impressedwith what Glitch Productions has
done.
They also have like murderdrones and a couple other series

(31:11):
that I've been vaguely aware of.
Uh, so very much in mywheelhouse, Phil.
Uh, not surprising that you haveno fucking clue what this is.

SPEAKER_04 (31:19):
Yeah, I uh this isn't Vin on my radar, but I'm
definitely going to add this touh my watch list.
The first one of the firstcomments on here says, I can't
believe I'm watching thismasterpiece for free.
So, shout out to to YouTube.
So, yeah, definitely gonna lookinto this.
Uh Ivan, what do you know aboutthis project?
Uh, because you you got veryexcited as well when Lilane

(31:40):
brought it up.

SPEAKER_02 (31:41):
Uh, so like I I recently at cons people keep
asking me for somebody's like,Do you have art for this indie
thing or this indie thing?
And I was like, Oh, I don't knowwhat you're talking about.
So, like, like, like um, likeAmazing Digital Circus, I always
saw, but I did not know what itwas.
Like, I was always like, What isthis?
But people were asking me formurder drones, and I was like, I

(32:02):
need to look this stuff up.
So, like, I started looking thisstuff up like I don't know, like
two months ago, and um, and likeI knew of glitch, I just didn't
really know.
Like, I like you know the name, like I know that I've heard the
name, but like I just said toknow.
So I didn't more I like kind ofdid a deep dive and like
research, and like same withLelane, like I'm totally like
like I didn't really watch BileHouse that much, but like the

(32:23):
fact that the creator kind ofwent their own like went their
own way, like I'm totally onboard with that, especially with
the whole Disney machine of itall.
And this whole show is kind oflike it's honestly like a I
don't want to say a Disney jab,but it kind of is in a way, like
the way this like the metaphorfor the show, like it it I don't
know, like so I I watched it uhwhen did I watch it?

(32:46):
I think I watched it this week, like Monday, because like I
couldn't see it when it came outbecause we were going to Ocala.
Um, but like it it meanseverything I want.
First of all it's 2D animation,so that already 100% has me.
Like, I'm immediately hookedonce you do that.
And um, like the characterdesigns were sick, and it wasn't
playing safe.
That's the thing that I think Iliked about it, because they

(33:09):
know they're indie, they knowthey listen, it's their thing,
they're gonna do what the hellthey want to do.
And like the fact that like it'san American like animation,
like, and it's the type ofanimation that I've been begging
for like American studioscreators to do, so like, because
they had that like whimsy butlike mystery, but then that
thriller vibe, and it's allthose things, like especially

(33:30):
the thriller vibe.
That's the everything I love.
So, like, yeah, I was 100%locked in.
That first episode was so good.
Um, and I want to make art forit like immediately.
Like, these last couple days, Ihave been like fighting the urge
to like like stop what I have onmy to-do list that I have to do
and just make stuff uh for theshow, like because the

(33:52):
Guinevere, like I already have aprint idea like I want to do,
and it's been sitting in my headthe last like two or three days.
I'm like, I gotta make this, Igotta make this.
So, yeah, it's uh it'severything I've it's everything
I wanted, and I and there's oneof the characters is pretty much
a Disney adult, and I kind oflike the commentary on it, so
like I don't know.
I it had it just had a lot goingfor it, it was not just surface

(34:13):
value type of story, like therewas a lot of things in the
background in like sidecharacters, like or like people
just kind of moving around, likethere were it was telling you
stories, like it was giving youworld building in one episode,
and it was so much worldbuilding already, like like it
was just it was insane.
Like, I actually went in onYouTube and watched people's

(34:35):
like reviews for it to see ifthere was anything I missed,
like, and there were some thingsI was like, oh I didn't catch
that, or I didn't catch that.
Like, like, but it would therethey have it, it's just it's
just full, full of like like Idon't want to use the word
content, but I feel like likesometimes that word I think is
misused, but like it was justfull of like Easter eggs and
like information to grab aboutthe world and the characters

(34:55):
just from like one episode, likeugly so good.

SPEAKER_04 (34:59):
The great thing about where animation is right
now, Eric, and we've talkedabout this um pretty lengthily
here in the podcast, is like uhanimation is also similar to
like gaming right now, or like alot of smaller studios,
independent studios, likecomparing it to like uh you
know, um non-triple A gaming,it's in such a healthy spot
right now and it's moreaccessible than ever, uh, which

(35:21):
is why uh this is so great.
Like I said, I I'm definitelygonna be checking this out.
And then as far as Hasm Hotelseason two, I actually didn't
watch the teaser trailer becauseI want to go in blind.
Um, and I'm just thinking, like,I I I mentioned this over on our
subreddit, Eric, like betweenK-pop Demon Hunters and then now
Hasm Hotel season two, mySpotify rap does cook, man.
Like, I know what's gonna be inthose top like 10, 15 songs, and

(35:44):
I'm happy about it.
This is going to be one of thoseplaylists I'm gonna go back to
forever.
I have like some Spotify rapplaylists I never even go back
to, but 2025 is gonna be apretty epic year, so I'm
excited.
Did you watch the teasertrailer, Eric?

SPEAKER_07 (35:57):
Why why are you asking dumb fucking questions
you know the answer to?

SPEAKER_04 (36:01):
Yeah, Eric has no self-control.
Eric will look at spoilers.

SPEAKER_07 (36:03):
I I'm pretty sure I'll pull up all of season two
on Twitter right now.

SPEAKER_04 (36:08):
Don't fucking don't don't tempt me.
Whenever the part two leaked,Eric looked it up immediately.
Like he had no hesitation.

SPEAKER_07 (36:15):
I was like, Phil, don't look.
I was like, Phil, don't don'tlook, you're gonna get mad.
You're gonna get mad.
It was um, yeah, it was bad.
I personally think it helpedalleviate my feelings on the
game, but that's a story foranother time.
I will say that for has uh hasbeen hotel, I mean that's a
great example of many of theseshows that are getting picked up

(36:37):
from some more of these majordistributions where some shows,
like in the past, maybe haven'tgotten that love.
Like in Allahouse, uh, I thinkdidn't get the love based off
the way it ended, right?
Uh, from Disney, which uhrightfully so, the jabs they're
taking.
I can't wait to see some ofthose things that uh we're
alluding to because those are tobe expected, like a lot of these

(36:57):
bigger companies aren't takingchances on shows like these, so
it's really good to see thatthey have like their core fan
base really supporting them.
Has been, you know, hopefullythey don't go too mainstream.
Uh, we want to watch Hell of aBoss.
That's something that we're alsoexcited to get into at some
point or another.
We've never seen that.
Uh, but you know, they're bothkind of starting to skyrocket as

(37:19):
long as they don't go too, toohigh where they lose control of
their vision and they startlosing creative control.
Uh, you know, I'm I'm reallygood for any growth of these
shows, any exposure.
Amazing Amazing Digital Circusuh going to Netflix was like
such a great thing for thatseries, but they're not getting
it the same way it's availableon YouTube, where it drops right

(37:39):
away, and then you know, again, glitch has full creative
control.
Those are the type of things Ilike to hear.
So as long as that stays thesame with has been, uh, I'm I'm
very excited for season two andbeyond.

SPEAKER_04 (37:50):
Yeah, and what do you think, Ivan, as far as
season two, has been what's yourexcitement level uh.

SPEAKER_02 (37:56):
I feel so I feel so bad because I don't have any
excitement for it.
Yeah, that's why I was like,well, and I was like, oh, don't
say don't ask me, don't ask me,don't ask me.
You mean the guy who has no hasbeen art?
What?
Yeah, that's right.
Like, I don't like hate it oranything.
I just don't I mean, I feel likeno matter how I say it, it's
gonna come off bad.
Like, I just don't care.

SPEAKER_04 (38:17):
I just how much did you did you watch season one?
How much of season one did youwatch?

SPEAKER_02 (38:22):
I I think I watched three episodes, I think.

SPEAKER_04 (38:24):
Three's fine.
I mean there's ten.

SPEAKER_02 (38:26):
I might have ten.
Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_04 (38:28):
I I might be saying three because it's only eight
episodes, so it's he almostwatched half.
You should have just finishedit.

SPEAKER_02 (38:34):
I don't whenever I say that on other shows, people
come for me.

SPEAKER_04 (38:40):
Like, oh, yeah, because you watched him and Eric
watch like 25 episode anime.
And then you're like, theyshould have finished it.

SPEAKER_02 (38:46):
Well, because I give that's the thing.
That's the thing.
I give most things, like mostlike series, whatever, even
movies.
Like, even if I hate a moviehalfway, I'm still watching the
whole thing.
Like, most of the time I try towatch like a.
Did you even get to lose yourbaby?
I don't even remember.

SPEAKER_07 (39:01):
No, no, that's what I'm saying.
He couldn't have because it wasthere were just like 20-minute
episodes.

SPEAKER_04 (39:05):
Yeah, because angels like turnaround doesn't come
into like halfway.
My thing is seasons.

SPEAKER_02 (39:10):
I just lost, I just I think to be honest, I was
having to try too hard.
And like, I already have to tryso hard with everything else in
the in our damn lives.
Like, I don't need to try hardfor something I'm supposed to be
enjoying.
And but it's just not it's justnot for me.
It's huh?
I said no, I agree.
Yeah, it's just not my speed.
Like, okay, calm down.

(39:30):
Everyone, and that's the thing.

SPEAKER_06 (39:32):
I didn't say have you thought that you just don't
like fun and good things ingeneral.

SPEAKER_02 (39:37):
Uh see, right there.
See, that's that that's thathostile energy that people give
when you dislike something.
And the thing is, I didn't evensay it was bad.
I never ever said in anyconversation when it has come up
that I said, oh, I hate it, it'sso bad.
Because people have a tendencyto say something's bad if they
don't like it.
And the truth is, it's just notfor me.
Like, it's not bad.

(39:58):
I mean, it's just not for me.
Like, and I see it all over theplace.
So like I'm at all these cons.
So, like, even if I don't watchit, like, I'm still getting it,
whether from like Lelane or evenour friend Josh, you know, like,
like, I'm getting enough of itthat like I feel like I
understand what it is, and I'mjust like, that's cool, that's
for you guys.
Enjoy it, you know.

SPEAKER_04 (40:18):
Like, wait till karaoke for your birthday in a
couple weeks, but yeah.

SPEAKER_06 (40:25):
If you do that to me, if you do that to you, oh my
gosh.

SPEAKER_02 (40:30):
If you do that to me, uh.
Really excited.

SPEAKER_04 (40:35):
Does anybody watch Legend of Vox Machina?
Am I the only person in my in myfriend group that watches Legend
of Vox?

SPEAKER_02 (40:41):
The first two, and I do like it.
I just never got a chance toseason three is really good.

SPEAKER_04 (40:45):
Season four isn't gonna be on until next year, so
every time um, yeah.
Go ahead, Lily.

SPEAKER_00 (40:51):
I think me and Philip have seen three episodes.
I love the animation, it remindsme of um Voltron Legendary
Defender, if anyone has seen it.

SPEAKER_02 (41:02):
Yes, it does.
It does.
I agree, I agree.

SPEAKER_00 (41:04):
Um, I enjoy it, so I'm surprised I haven't
continued, but there's like ashit ton of shows I haven't
seen.
That's the thing.

SPEAKER_04 (41:11):
It's just I mean, it's got critical role attached
to it, so like it's doingobviously doing very well.
So yeah.
Um, but yeah, I don't ever getto talk to anybody about it.

SPEAKER_02 (41:19):
So but anyway, as far as I'll hurry up so I can
I'll make art for it too.
I've been asked multiple timesto make art for it.

SPEAKER_04 (41:27):
So I saw I saw a couple uh over at um Ocala
Comic-Con, but again, it whichuh I'm surprised there's not
more because Critical Role is soum so popular.
Uh Lilane.

SPEAKER_07 (41:39):
Are you confused, Lilane?
No, this we're yeah, we're backto the thing I might at least
get a third color in here.
Yeah, yeah, we're back to thewheel segment.
Uh, you did seem very confusedthere.
No, this is meant to happen.
Surprise! Liline was like, Oh, Ididn't see you again.

SPEAKER_00 (41:55):
I love this so much.

SPEAKER_07 (41:56):
So we've got one more wheel spin to figure out
who's gonna who's gonna go last.
Can I get a fourth color?

SPEAKER_04 (42:02):
Hold on.
How many colors are there, doyou think?

SPEAKER_07 (42:04):
How many do you want there to be?
Oh, I'm overwhelmed.
Okay, I'm overwhelmed.
All right, uh, we're gonna do itone more time.
Uh, so let's just let's justdive into it.
One final time, three, two, one, spin that wheel.
We're gonna go.
Three, two, one, spin! Wheel.

(42:24):
I think I was that was prettygood.
Yeah, that was good.

SPEAKER_04 (42:27):
I feel like it was a little all right, but it's okay.

SPEAKER_07 (42:29):
I always listen to the playbacks.

SPEAKER_04 (42:31):
Yeah, blue pill.

SPEAKER_07 (42:32):
Blue Eric.
Ooh.
Blue Eric.
All right, oh my god.
All right.
Um, I don't know if everyone hasseen this anime series, but uh,
even if you don't, I kind ofhave a spin on this that I think
everyone can chime in about.
Uh, because this is reallyexciting news for a lot of fans
of this particular franchise.
Assassination Classroom iscoming back with its own movie

(42:56):
in 2026.
I am extremely, extremelyexcited for this.
It's set to release in Japanesetheaters in March of 2026,
according to anime TV.
Not only will it celebrate thefranchise's 10th anniversary,
but it's also gonna fill instories from the anime
adaptation, uh, with originalvoice cast uh cats returning for

(43:18):
those roles, hopefully as well, fingers crossed for the dub.
So, all that being said, thispremiered back in 2015, and I
did not have this on my bingocard in any way, shape, or form.
I want to kind of throw it outthere, Phil.
This is actually an anime thatyou've watched.
Uh, gonna throw out there whatdo we think about this if you
are a fan of the series, andwhether you're a fan of the

(43:40):
series or not, my secondaryquestion is is there an
adaptation or an anime seriesthat you'd like to see come back
for a film like this, filling inthe gaps of stories that never
got told, or maybe a recap ofstories that were told with some
extra little nuggets, like anytype of series like that,
because Assassination Classroomfor me would have been on that

(44:01):
just turned around and look athis massive library.
It's crazy, it's insane.
Uh, very excited, uh, to say theleast, though.
But Phil, kicking it off to youfirst, uh, what was your
reaction to the news?

SPEAKER_04 (44:13):
So excited.
This is one of those one ofthose trade-off shows where I
had you watch, I believe, Parksand Wreck, and you in return
gave me four or five anime.
Uh, this was easily, if not myfavorite, one of my one of the
top two, um, absolute tears whenthat series came to an end.
Um, it's got incrediblecharacters, it's got such
lovable characters, and it'sit's just like you you look at

(44:36):
it from people on the outsidelooking in, you're like, this
this yellow squid is gonna makeme cry.
And you're like, yeah, yeah,absolutely.
It's gonna, you're going toabsolutely weep here in a couple
of our well, once you getthrough the series.
So I cannot wait to learn moreabout uh what what wasn't in the
uh in the anime, so what comesthrough from the manga.
And like you said, Eric, absolutely out of nowhere, the

(44:58):
fact that this is showing up.
So I cannot wait.
Um, obviously I'm not the bestperson to ask as far as an anime
to return, but maybe I can thinkof something else as far as a
show.
So I'll throw it to our ourguest here in a second or before
I give my answer so I can dosome brainstorming.
That's a really, really greatquestion.
Lilane, what do you think aboutAssassination Classroom?
Did you watch it through thefirst time around?
And um, what do you think abouta movie coming back uh coming

(45:19):
out here next year?

SPEAKER_00 (45:20):
I haven't seen any assassination classroom.
You monsters! You monsters Ionly seen the yellow perfect
teacher character?
I've only seen him.
I like when I think ofassassination classroom, I think
of him.
I don't remember any other likecharacter in the show other than

(45:43):
him.
So I have no outs of knowledge.

SPEAKER_02 (45:46):
So it's a show you would love, like you
specifically would love it.
I should watch it.

SPEAKER_04 (45:51):
I don't know that I've ever met anyone that didn't
enjoy it, honestly.
It's it's like one of thosethings where non-anime.
Oh, well, you you interact withmore anime people than I do.
Maybe they made me mad.
That makes sense.
Um, the the only thing that Ican compare it to is like
non-anime fans that all knowwhat Fruits Basket is.
It's like that's that's like Iput it on kind of like the same
tier, you know?

SPEAKER_07 (46:11):
Yeah, it's one of it's like a show that people um
like it's not that there's notfiller episodes, like there are
like those fun, campy episodes.
It it almost like does justenough where it's still fun and
it doesn't overtake the show, and then it comes back with like
emotional beats or story beatsthat really work.
Like there's a twist.

SPEAKER_04 (46:28):
You better you better go to the mall, you
better go to the beach.
I want all exactly.

SPEAKER_07 (46:31):
I want them.
I want them.
Uh, and I want I want it to becrazy, but I think like it's
such a good show because it hasa really good dynamic.
It also has a really greattwist, I think, that they
execute really well, and then Ilove the ending, uh, the way
that it all wraps up.
So the fact that we're getting amovie is great.
Lilane, is there something thatyou would hope would get that
type of treatment?
A series that is ended, maybeended too soon, maybe rushed

(46:55):
through and went through alittle too quickly.
Anything that comes to your mindthat you would like to see get
that treatment?

SPEAKER_00 (47:02):
So I wanted to mention that for the longest
time, this obviously this wasn'ta movie, it was a second season,
but we have all wanted panty andstalking back for the longest.
And so I can't say that becausewe did get the wish.
By the way, the perfect season, but I loved it.
Um I love panty and stalking somuch.

(47:23):
Um I guess like as like for amovie adaptation, I know all of
us girlies would love this tocome back, but Auron, I want
Auron to come back.

SPEAKER_08 (47:34):
Um really.

SPEAKER_00 (47:38):
No, I ever since I started like my collection of
like Oron keychains and stickersand my that big print I have,
um, a lot of people are saying,oh my gosh, like you don't I
don't ever see Aron um anymore.
And it's like, oh my gosh, likeI'm so glad that people are
seeing me as like the Oronprovider or like one of the

(47:59):
artists that provide that.
But I was thinking, I was like, yeah, it'd be nice if the series
continued, or like, you know, ifwe got like a revamped or like
even a movie.
I know that's a lot to ask for,but I mean, hey, we did that.
This wasn't a movie either, butwe got Black Butler.
We didn't think that was evergonna come back.

(48:20):
Um just now I just said uh Pantyand Stocking.
Didn't know that was ever gonnacome back.
So I'm keeping my hopes up forOran.
Um obviously I don't thinkthere's any other like
announcement for that comingout, but it's one of those shows
where it is a lot of people'scomfort, um, definitely mine as
well.
And I just hope something comesout from that, but who knows?

(48:44):
I I don't want to keep my hopesup or else I'm just gonna be
disappointed.

SPEAKER_04 (48:50):
And Ivan, how how are you feeling about this news?
And and what is your choice asyou looked back again at your
library for Eric's question?

SPEAKER_02 (49:00):
This is this is like a really loaded question for me.
Um well, first of all, the firstpart I'm gonna say 100% excited.
Like, and if I'm beingcompletely truthful, I actually
did expect something at somepoint.
I'm not gonna say a movie, likeI I don't know, I may be an OVA
or something.
Like, I expected something forAssassination Classroom to come

(49:20):
up because like it's stillpretty damn popular, and I don't
mean in the States, like like Ibelieve it got another like
reprint like uh version inJapan.
Um, and I swear when my friendwent um a few months ago, there
was like an assassinationclassroom pop-up, and like he
was like telling me about it.
So I'm not too surprised, I'mexcited 100%, especially because

(49:43):
like I read the manga, I own it.
Like, there are things theydidn't include, and I think the
adaptation followed the mangapretty damn well.
Um, but there's a couple littlearcs that are not in the series.
Um, so like I'm assuming they'regonna show that in the movie.
Um, I'm assuming someone's gonnabe like, I don't know, like
thinking back on their time orsomething, and like we'll get it

(50:05):
that way.
It'll be like a honestly themovie might be like a giant
flashback if I'm being honest, but like I don't even care
because there are things that wedidn't like there it's a
flashback of things we didn'tsee, like we didn't see
animated.
So, like, yeah, 100% excited.
Um, not too stunned, but I amsho I am shocked, but I'm not
like too shocked because I'mlike, you know what?
I I could I I could havepredicted this if it was like

(50:25):
Soul Eater, then I would havebeen like, get the hell out of
here.
Like that's crazy because peoplehave been waiting for this damn
thing just as much as they'vebeen waiting for Oran Host Club.
Um, and like and it hasn'thappened, but um, but they asked
answer the other part of thequestion, which is really the
loaded part.
There's too many things that Iwant to come back, whether like

(50:47):
they do a reboot or do like amovie or something, because the
the one that I thought wouldnever happen, absolutely never
happen, was Ranma.
And we got a remake for Ranma, and season two is coming out the
week of my freaking birthday, and everybody told Shane that's
my week, like, like be ready.
Ranma is coming, like so, like, but if I was to pick something,

(51:09):
I mean Soul Eater woulddefinitely be one, but god,
there's a lot.
Like, honestly, I have a I havea lot.
Like, I mean, Promise Neverland.
Give me a better season or amovie for that.
Like, give me don't fucking getme fucking started.

SPEAKER_07 (51:24):
Don't get me started.
I'm gonna fucking spaz out.
That's what I'm saying.
I'm gonna spaz out.
Why is that happening in the2020s?
That was supposed to be like anold anime thing, like season two
of Tokyo Ghoul, everybodyfucking hated that.
Yeah.
And then they gave us seasonthree from the manga.
Yeah.
And season two doesn't make anyfucking sense.
So dumb.
Like I got I I got rid of that.

(51:44):
That was fine.
Why the fuck would you not adaptthe best arc in that fucking
season?
Is it insane?

SPEAKER_03 (51:51):
I know.

SPEAKER_07 (51:52):
I'm gonna freak out, man.
Okay, I gotta go.
You're going to?

SPEAKER_02 (51:56):
What do we mean?
It could get so much worse.
Lelane was like sweating.
She's like, oh my god, I'mscared.
Like very, very touchy subjectfor Eric.

SPEAKER_07 (52:06):
Like, like, I mean, I'm I'm letting you know now the
the arc that they cut wasamazing.
One of my favorite arcs inreading manga.
Like it is a favorite.
It's been one of my favorites toread.
Yeah.
If it lets you know anything.
So yeah, that's another one ofthose shows.

SPEAKER_02 (52:20):
I mean, but even even even to people who like um
like who don't particularly lovelike um Promise Neverland, they
say like it all together, it'slike it's a it's really a fan
favorite arc for anyone whoreads manga.
Like, it's great.
So cutting out is stupid, butregardless.
Um, because then like there'sother ones too.
Like the one that immediatelypopped in my head, honestly,
like I had to look back when Ilook back at my manga, like this

(52:41):
was the first thing that my eyeswent to was um there's an anime
called Magi, uh, Labyrinth ofMagic or Magi Kingdom of Magic
for season two.
It never ended, like season twoended that arc and it never went
on anymore.
Like, and there was I thinkthere's like 10 to 11 books left
or something like that.
Um, like to give me an endingfor that, if you did it in a

(53:02):
movie, fine.
I mean, that'll be a crammedmovie, but like maybe give me
three movies, but like it likejust end that give me that.
Like, I would honestly really, really take that at least.
Like, I I really love thatseries.
The manga's art is freakingbeautiful.
Um, and it's like, I don't know,it's like I am not a magic

(53:22):
girly, like I do like my magicalgirls, but my thing is like
overall when it comes to anime, like like my genre is not anime,
it's not like magic.
I have it like I have a veryparticular way I feel like the
magic has to work, and Maggiedid it so great.
So, like, to have to give mesomething like what
Assassination Classroom isgetting, I'll be super happy
for.
Granted, I'm happy forAssassination Classroom because

(53:43):
I love that damn anime andmanga, so like I'm fine with
that too.
But yeah, this is a very loaded, heavy answer, and I apologize.
But yeah, that I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (53:52):
That's okay.
You had an entire second inCharles to look at behind you.

SPEAKER_07 (53:56):
So yeah, I looked at my much smaller one, and I I
only came up with a coupleextras, like a uh Akame Got Kill
is one that I'd like to see uhprobably redone more than just
like a movie filling in thegaps.
Uh, yeah, that's exactly whathappened in that show, Ivan.
You're that's exactly whathappened.
Uh the other one that I I haveis more of an obscure one, I

(54:16):
think.
Uh it's uh romance anime calledSnow White with the red hair.
Uh it's a show, it's a show thatuh yeah, I know game.
I know game.
What?
I know I I know a littlesomething.
Sorry.
Okay, uh Snow White with the redhair is one that pains me.
Uh that there's not more of inthis world, and I would take
literally anything.
Uh their love is one of the bestout there.

(54:38):
So yeah, I want more.

SPEAKER_04 (54:39):
So for me, since because I can't really pick from
a manga or an anime, everythingI have is pretty much still
ongoing or has been covered.
So I'll go with a book.
For sure, um, it would be togive us like a director's cut or
lengthened version of the HungryGames films, um, because there's
so much that was left out inthose books.
Um, I I very much love all ofthem, even the the additional

(55:02):
two that came out.
And then honestly, Eric, theeasy answer for me is you're
always gonna know, is going tobe um some sort of rated R
director's cut of Jurassic Park1 and The Lost World.
The Lost World specifically isreally nothing like the book.
Um, we don't we don't havecamouflaged carnotauruses in the
series.
We kind of got that with theIndominus Rex, but like these

(55:22):
two just intimidating creatures, like stalking them throughout
from from the entire, like frombeginning to end of the book.
Like, that's what I want, sothat's what I will go with.
And then inevitably, when theycut out, probably the most
important parts of Project HailMary.
I'm just gonna look ahead to thefuture and say that I'm gonna
walk out of that movie upset, even though I'm sure it's gonna
be really good.
Uh, but I'm already concerned.

SPEAKER_07 (55:43):
Yeah, I'm really hoping I like that movie, and
then you get really mad at me.
You're like, you should haveread the book.
And then I'm like, you didn'tread the book either.

SPEAKER_04 (55:49):
And Ivan, I know we talked about this because you
said you can't do audiobooks.
The audiobook is incredible.
Like, there are full-on TikToksand Instagram reels about how
good the audiobook narrator is.
It's not the same when you readit on by itself.

SPEAKER_02 (56:02):
That's what Shane said and uh CJ and Russ said.

SPEAKER_04 (56:05):
So, like Yeah, the audiobook is incredible.
So, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (56:08):
I do want to read it.

SPEAKER_04 (56:11):
Yeah, so don't fuck up Project Hail Mary, although
I'm pretty sure they alreadyhave starting with Ryan Gosling.
And I love Ryan Gosling, sowe'll see.
We'll see how it goes.
I don't know, Eric.
But uh yeah, Eric, you want togo?
Do we want to go around the uhonce again around the table for
some didn't make the cuts?

SPEAKER_07 (56:28):
Yeah, yeah.
Uh, we could go wherever you'dlike to go first.
This is the part of the episodewhere we're doing our roundup of
any takes uh or stories thatdidn't make the cut.
Uh I'll wrap things up with ourDiscord roundup.
A select few stories from ourDiscord.
We're in the Pop Cultures newschannel.
We are talking about this stuffdaily.

(56:48):
So sending memes, sendingopinions, all of the above.
Uh, Phil, where do you want usto go first?
Do you want to go first?
What do you have?

SPEAKER_04 (56:58):
Yeah, I'll go.
I've I kept getting the stupidad on IGN.
I was trying to make it stop.
What's happening?
Like, shut up.
It makes sense because thisstory makes me angry.
So mine was Dwayne Johnsonsaying that he was pigeonholed
into being a blockbuster-onlyactor, as if these weren't the
roles you were picking for twodecades, buddy.
Uh, his um his quote uh in this, and I'll just read some of it.

(57:22):
Um he said he's he's he wants tolive his own dreams, live my own
dreams now, after living otherpeople's dreams.
He said, I've been scared to godeep and intense and raw until
now, until I had an opportunityto do this.
I wanted to do this for a longtime.
When you're in Hollywood, as weall know, it became about box
office and you chase the boxoffice.
Um it pushes you into a cornerand category.

(57:43):
This is your lane, this is whatyou do.
Listen, man, I have my I have myquarrels with The Rock as a
person or with Dwayne Johnson asa person, he seems fine, but as
a entertainer, and listen, he'sgotta be cutthroat, you gotta be
that in this business, but let'snot act like he didn't try and
take over the DC EU and make itall about a fourth uh D tier

(58:03):
character in Black Adam and thenforce your way into the Fast and
the Furious series and refuse towork with Vin Diesel, and now
you come crawling back.
I don't want to hear it, man.
I hope the new movie is good.
I I heard his performance is issolid.
You know, he gets the standingovation at the Canned Film
Festival that everybody gets.
They did that for Joker 2,remind you.
So everybody gets a standingovation at the Canned Film

(58:25):
Festival.
So I don't want to hear it fromDwayne Johnson, Eric.
That was the latest thing thatmade me mad.

SPEAKER_07 (58:30):
Was that your only didn't make the cut?
Yeah.
Okay.
Well then I'll throw I'll throwthat in there.
Uh, you guys can give quickopinions to any of the stories
that come up.
So, like, you're more thanwelcome to throw them out.
And if anybody has any comments, you can.
I guess I'll just providecontext before uh Ivan, we throw
it to you because I'm sure youalso have some uh immediate
opinions on this.
I will say, like, pre-2010, it'snot like he didn't try to do

(58:56):
some serious roles.

SPEAKER_04 (58:57):
I mean the rundown, not the rundown, uh walking
tall.

SPEAKER_07 (59:00):
Walking tall, which I like.
I I shit on walking tall.
Like that, he's actually prettygood in that, uh, in my opinion.
He also gives someone a rockbottom.

SPEAKER_04 (59:16):
He gave a rock bottom to somebody in that in in
in the uh the rundown.
Uh, I'm pretty sure there's arock bottom in one in in the mum
uh Scorpion King.
So he did it for he there's it'sin Fast and the Furious, he does
a rock bottom and the Fast andthe Furious.

SPEAKER_07 (59:31):
Yeah, so but so again, he was doing a mixture of
these films like Gridiron Gangand Faster, but then he would
also jump into comedies like allthe time, like the uh the game
plan, get smart.
Uh he had an appearance in Renonine one one.

SPEAKER_04 (59:43):
Smart's one of his best roles, and he's and I get
it.
And also um Be Cool.
Be cool.
He's fantastic in Be Cool, neverrevisited Gay Bodyguard, never
revisited that type of role everagain.
Like John Cena and like JohnCena will dive head first into,
and that's why John Cena'sbetter.

SPEAKER_07 (01:00:00):
Yeah, once he did um, you know, Fast Fast and the
Furious, like, he doesn't reallyget recognized for a lot of
these films.
Although, like, again, he didPain and Gain.
He did ballers.

SPEAKER_04 (01:00:08):
Yeah, movies never get you know what I mean.

SPEAKER_07 (01:00:10):
Like, people don't really talk about those, but
it's not like he hasn't tried todo it.
So I mean, I don't know.
I I feel like I like you'resaying, Phil, at some point or
another, you kind of have toacknowledge, like, maybe don't
star in the in the film Herculesin 2014.
Maybe that's not something youneed to do.

SPEAKER_04 (01:00:26):
I forgot that was a thing.

SPEAKER_07 (01:00:27):
You know what I'm saying?
That was the second Hercules tocome out that year, if I'm
correct.
Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (01:00:31):
There was like this weird Hercules Renaissance for
some reason.

SPEAKER_07 (01:00:33):
Yeah, then jumped into uh Jumanji, then he was uh
in Baywatch.
I feel like a lot of you at somepoint at some point you have to
kind of like Jumanaccountability.

SPEAKER_04 (01:00:42):
Ivan didn't like Jumanji for the audio only
audience.

SPEAKER_07 (01:00:46):
Ivan, why did you not like Jumanji?

SPEAKER_02 (01:00:48):
I just didn't give a damn at all.
Like Eric, like I just didn't.

SPEAKER_04 (01:00:52):
Eric, I'm not gonna put myself to be in Jumanji if I
don't I'm not going to getJumanji'd if I don't put myself
in a position to be Jumanji.

SPEAKER_07 (01:01:00):
We have to send them this SNL clip because it is out
of context.
We talk nuts.
Uh but Ivan, what is youropinion on uh The Rock's kind of
filmography?
Uh, you know, all these years.

SPEAKER_04 (01:01:11):
And also if you have your you want to throw out your
extra story here, you can dothat too.

SPEAKER_02 (01:01:15):
Okay, that's fine.
Um, I mean, like, I don't Idon't hate him or anything.
I do think some of what he'ssaying is nonsense, but like I'm
gonna say 15% isn't because it'slike you know there's gotta be
some truth to like his agentsand his people who are like, no,
you gotta do these bigblockbuster movies or whatever.

(01:01:35):
And like, and he kind of gottypecast, but I do think like at
some point, okay, if he didn'tfight that before, like, why is
it now?
Like, he's been big enough thathe could have fought that like
six, seven years ago, if I'mbeing honest.
Um, like, and I am one of theonly people in the world that

(01:01:57):
did it that did enjoy um umwhat's the movie you just said?
Um Hercules?
No, no, no.
No, pain and game.
Is it painting game?
Painting game.
Oh, painting game, yeah.
I actually did enjoy that movie.
Like, I did.
Um, for it's for the absurdityof it all.
Like, like I know what themovie's trying to do, and I'm
fine with it.
Like, I'm not, it's not gonna besome prestige film.

(01:02:18):
Like, let's let's like let's bereal.
But like, um, so I don't know.
I mean, him saying that, I'mlike, whatever, do you, man.
Like, you tried to take the DC,and like I hated that.
I hated you for that.
So, like, you know, whatever.
So he can do his thing.
Um, I still think he needs torealize what he's saying,
though.
Like, stop trying to gainsympathy, like, for you making

(01:02:39):
millions.
Um, yeah.

SPEAKER_07 (01:02:41):
And so I don't I don't really love the the angle
he's taking.
Like, he doesn't always bring upbox office numbers, like, right?
You know what I mean?
You're doing this.
Yeah.
Uh really quickly, Lelane.
Did you have anything to chimein here on The Rock?
I mean, I'm assuming you're abig fan of his uh Netflix hit
Red Notice, for example.
Like, just let me know a littlebit of like what you enjoy about

(01:03:04):
the Rock.

SPEAKER_04 (01:03:07):
Yes, that's why I brought it up, just trying to
plug.

SPEAKER_00 (01:03:09):
Totally.
Um, I don't really have like abig opinion on The Rock.
He's like okay to me.
I've been more noticing abouthow many wrestlers are becoming
actors, um, which makes sensebecause they are actors.
Uh, but is it weird to say thatthe one of the only roles I
liked from him is Maui fromWana?

SPEAKER_02 (01:03:32):
Like, I mean that word at all.

SPEAKER_00 (01:03:34):
Oh I that's the only thing about The Rock.
Um, I've never seen Black Adam.
Did I get that right?
He's in he's the main character.

SPEAKER_07 (01:03:42):
Yeah, we'll we'll we'll fix that unfortunately.
So Black Adam movie die.
Let's go.

SPEAKER_02 (01:03:48):
You don't have to say it.

SPEAKER_00 (01:03:52):
I don't plan on it, but I just, yeah, I don't really
have like a strong opinion abouthim.
But that statement is a littlelike weird coming from him.
I get it.
Um, but yeah, other than likethe Moana movies, that's pretty
much it about how I feel abouthim.
I think like if he continuedvoice acting, I think that'd be

(01:04:14):
really cool for him to add tothe resume if he wanted to.
Um, but other than that, yeah.
That's pretty much it.

SPEAKER_07 (01:04:22):
Yeah, completely fair, completely fair.
Ivan, back to you.
What uh what story or storiesdid you have that didn't make
the cut?

SPEAKER_02 (01:04:30):
So um, well, this one I didn't have originally,
but like because something wassaid earlier, I looked it up
real quick while we're onrecording.
Um, for Professor Leighton, theydid say that it was delayed for
2026.
So, like the date for that forthe lane is 2026.
I don't know when I can't findit doesn't say like fall,
spring, whatever.

(01:04:50):
It does seem like it's gonna bein the middle though, from what
I can read.
But like, again, that's I thinkI was assuming.
But it did say that they'redelaying it to 2026.
So I'm sorry about that.

SPEAKER_00 (01:05:02):
No, it's fine.
Actually, it's better than itnever happening.
So I listen, oh, and I also hopethat it's compatible for both
the switch one and switch two.

SPEAKER_02 (01:05:16):
I believe it's it says that it's going to be it
does say it's for both, yeah.
Thank god, thank god, but um,but yeah, okay, so but my actual
story was gonna be about um sothe creator of Chainsaw Man, uh
Tatsuki Fujimoto, he has likehis like anthology mangas, like
the like one-shots and thethings like that.

(01:05:36):
So like Mapa like bought prettymuch the rights to his stories,
but the one uh um it's calledthe Tatsuki Tatsuki Fujimoto uh
17 through 26.
I don't know how you say thatdash to 17 through 26 anthology
is like coming to Amazon inNovember.
Um, and anyone who's a big fanof Chainsaw Man or Look Back,

(01:05:58):
um, like will enjoy it,especially if you're a fan of
Look Back because they're alllike the one shots.
I mean, there's a couple of thestories that are a little weird
like Chainsaw Man, butdeliberately weird.
So like everything I've seen forit has been pretty cool.
Like, um, and I'm not the hugelike I like Chainsaw Man, don't
get me wrong, I really do enjoyit, but like I I'm not like a
blanket lover of everything hedoes, but I do like the one

(01:06:20):
shots.
They have like reallyinteresting storytelling, so
like I'm yes, I know you'relooking at the painting that I
made.
I like Chainsaw Man.
I didn't say I didn't like it,Eric.

SPEAKER_05 (01:06:29):
I'm taking it down.

SPEAKER_02 (01:06:30):
Oh, take it down.
The money was already in mypocket, so whatever.
But like, but I like ChainsawMan, I do.
I I I I just think that it was abit of a like crazy love for it
when we didn't even get the realpart of the story yet in the
anime, like the good shit didn'teven happen yet.
The movie's gonna start that.
So, you know, like, but eitherway, so yeah, so the anthology

(01:06:53):
series for I thought it wasreally cool, and then I thought,
like, you know, there's a lot ofother mangaka that have like
cool one-shots and anthologieslike that, or like as as mangas,
but don't get made into animes.
And I would really love to seesome of that, so I don't know if
like if there's any type ofthing like that, whether it's
like a short story or like uhlike a small like a you know,

(01:07:13):
one volume graphic novel, ifanyone had anything like that
that they'd want to see madeinto either a movie, animated,
or whatever.
Because there's a bunch ofone-shot Batmans and like one
volume type of comics and indiecomics that won't I feel like
will never get made intoanything, and I would love to
see some of those things getmade, like in this capacity.

SPEAKER_07 (01:07:31):
Yeah, I mean the the one thing for me, I mean, not
necessarily a one-shot, becauseI've seen I've read uh those
one-shots, I think that's gonnabe great.
That's why I was really excitedfor look back.
Um, did they adapt goodbyeairie, or is that gonna be part
of it?

SPEAKER_02 (01:07:47):
So I thought they said that one wouldn't happen.

SPEAKER_04 (01:07:50):
I forgot there was a reason why everybody wants
Goodbye Aerie and Fire Punch.
Yeah, Fire Punch will neverhappen.

SPEAKER_07 (01:07:56):
I was gonna bring up Fire Punch.

SPEAKER_04 (01:07:57):
Fire Punch would be fucking crazy because of like,
yeah, because of the technicallimitations.
I think maybe people would beworried like it wouldn't live up
to what they would want.

SPEAKER_02 (01:08:07):
Yeah, it would look like a Junji Ito thing, and they
keep making they keep messing upJunji Ito stories.
So it's like I think Fire Punchwould turn into that if they did
it.

SPEAKER_07 (01:08:15):
Yeah, so Fire Fire Punch would be the uh the big
one for me if they can reallynail that.
Uh goodbye, Ari, as well.
So yeah, no, those are those aredefinitely mine.
Uh Phil doesn't read manga likethat, so I think we can just
skip him.
Lelane.

SPEAKER_02 (01:08:30):
Well, that's why I said short stories or like a
graphic novel or something.
Or like, you know, somethinglike that.

SPEAKER_07 (01:08:36):
I mean, I can't even read, so why did I answer?
So, Lelane, what do you got?

SPEAKER_00 (01:08:44):
Alright, so I'm not gonna lie, this did come up
while I was talking about mysegment of the what did I miss
part, but we got the teaser forJoJo Steel Ball Run.
I'm so happy for the anime, bythe way.
Uh, I'm so happy.

(01:09:04):
Um, it's only 40 seconds, so butthey packed a lot in 40 seconds.
Um, Philip is currently readingthe manga um and he's getting
the hardcover ones too, and theyit's just so gorgeous.
It looks when we get our ownshelf like at our new place at
some point, it's gonna look sogood.
Um, but no, I'm so excited, andI really, really hope.

(01:09:27):
I don't know if they've alreadylike decided to do this or not.
Um, I really hope they will justrelease the episode per week
instead of just dropping it allin one go.
I think they did get Stone Oceanso dirty for it.

SPEAKER_02 (01:09:42):
Um I think they learned their lesson, if I'm
being honest.

SPEAKER_00 (01:09:45):
Yeah, okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (01:09:46):
Because they're doing it with Sakamoto Days,
Ranma, uh the summer who carudied.
Like, I think they learned theirlesson, hopefully anyway.

SPEAKER_00 (01:09:53):
I hope so too, because that would suck.
And like, as someone who isfully caught up, at least in the
anime version of Jojo, I wantthis to be episodic so that I we
have less something to lookforward to so that there's more
views.
Like, that's that's the point.
Um but yeah, that's pretty muchit for this part.
Um, I I'm so excited for it, andit looks so good, all the

(01:10:16):
characters look good.
Um, and the theme song, I can'twait for it.
I really hope it's popping.

SPEAKER_07 (01:10:24):
Yeah, I want to be like everyone that loves JoJo's,
but I just I can't watch it.
Like, I just I don't think I'mever gonna be able to get into
it.
It feels like so overwhelming.
So I want to say everyone, yeah, and it's also not for everyone.
That's also very, very true.
Um, I guess I'll jump into myDiscord roundup.
Uh, I actually kind of uhsimplified it, Phil, just to

(01:10:46):
kind of uh bring up a couplethings.
Most of these are probably movierelated, so I'll start off with
the TV stuff first.
Uh, we talked about veryjokingly, but I will bring it
up.
Surfs up.
If you remember that Sony comedypick, well, TV series adaptation
is happening, it's in the works.
Why?
I don't know.
Uh, but on the TV side, the newsthat I'm probably the most

(01:11:07):
excited for, and Phil, I knowyou'll agree.
Uh, Hannibal creator BrianFuller uh mentioned a desire to
do more within that world and isactually eyeing Zendaya as like
a dream cast for Clarice.
So interesting how that wouldgo.
That's a huge name.
I don't know if it would happen, but I just want more fucking

(01:11:29):
Hannibal in my life.

SPEAKER_02 (01:11:30):
I love same, that's same.
Can I just can I just say likethis?
I'm not I don't need to be ahipster if that term is even
used anymore.
I was on Hannibal like day onewhen that series came out.
My dad always watched all themovies, he actually read the
books, like so like has I waslike 13 when he was like,
Alright, we're watching Silenceof the Lambs.

(01:11:51):
I'm like, okay, sure, what isthis?
And like, so like I was like, Iso when Hannibal came out and I
got no love back then, it brokemy heart.
Okay, it broke my heart.
Then it got cold followingafter, and that's cool,
whatever.
But I I was like screaming frommy roof, telling everyone to
watch this damn show.
So, like, to say, like, if theyget Zendaya though, like I'm

(01:12:12):
100%.
I mean, I'm gonna be locked inanyway, but like, please do it.
Like, please, please do it.

SPEAKER_04 (01:12:18):
Yeah, anything to get Mads Mickelson back on my TV
screen.

SPEAKER_07 (01:12:21):
Dude, oh my god, one of the best television
performances.
I loved him and Hugh Dancytogether.
Um, they are so gay, so but soamazing.

SPEAKER_04 (01:12:32):
Remember when Marvel Remember when Marvel, remember
when Marvel fumbled MadsMickelson?
Good job.
Yeah, weird.

SPEAKER_07 (01:12:39):
I was so mad about that.
Oh.
But I still I still rememberwhat they did to this show in
season three and the time slotthat they gave it.
It was pretty much a deathsentence.
So, like, we knew we knew it wascoming.
I'm glad they put it off in away that it could come back
because I think it will comeback sooner than later.
I think eventually that thattime jump could actually help.
Uh, but I'm also wishfullythinking here.

(01:13:02):
Uh, so those are my TV show newsside of things, the movie side,
a couple quick things I'm gonnathrow out there.
Uh, we'll just start in releaseorder, uh, exclusively in
theaters this Christmas.
The tagline is I like big snakesand I cannot lie.
If you want to see the Anacondamovie uh featuring Paul Rudd and
Jack Black, Phil will be there.

(01:13:22):
Yeah, I fucking know he will be.
Uh, there's also been news aboutuh the Star Wars film that's
gonna be taking place, astandalone film five years after
episode nine called Star WarsStarfighter, uh by director Sean
Levy.
It's got Ryan Gosling, AmyAdams, Aaron Pierre, Mia Goth,

(01:13:43):
Matt Smith.
It's releasing in theaters onMay 28th, 2027.
Uh yeah, crazy fucking cast.
Had no interest in that movie.
Now I do.
And uh the last part here is thefull feature-length film Bluey,
the movie is coming to cinemasAugust 6th to uh 2027, and I am

(01:14:05):
gonna be seated.
Night one.
So uh quick recap, and uh Phil,I'll throw it to you first if
you have any thoughts.
Surfs up, Hannibal, Anna Cup'scrazy start, Starfighter and
Bluey.

SPEAKER_04 (01:14:19):
Uh, any thoughts on any of those items?
I'm just glad we have aChristmas movie coming out.
Anaconda, Paul Rudd, Jack Black, shout out to them.
And am I gonna cry more in theBluey movie or in Assassination
Classroom?
We'll see.
Time will tell.

SPEAKER_05 (01:14:33):
God, you make me sick.

SPEAKER_07 (01:14:35):
Ivan, uh, any of those topics, surfs up, bring up
the My Hero Academia live actionmovie.

SPEAKER_02 (01:14:40):
We're gonna do we're gonna do Surf Stop and Hammer.
What do you mean?
I don't want to talk about that.

SPEAKER_07 (01:14:46):
Surfs up.

SPEAKER_02 (01:14:47):
Um, Raka.

SPEAKER_06 (01:14:51):
Oh my god.
Please stop on.

SPEAKER_02 (01:14:54):
You might as well make Amy Adams.
She has been.
Oh my god.

SPEAKER_07 (01:14:58):
Uh, Ivan, I haven't.

SPEAKER_02 (01:14:59):
Any thoughts on any of those?
I don't, I don't, I wasn't gonnapretend like I cared about Surfs
Up.
I don't give a damn.
Uh Anaconda, I don't give adamn.
Boo.
It's a big monster movie.
You like monster movies.
I do like monster movies, butlike, I don't know if I'm gonna
be in a theater for a movie Iknow is gonna be bad, though.
You know, like I don't want todeal with that.
Um, Phil does love doing that.
That's like his whole fuckingthing of like watching a bad

(01:15:22):
movie.
It depends how it goes.
It depends how I do it.
Like, I have to have like a lotof free time.
It can't be like taking me outof con.
Right, we'll come all we'll comedown.
You're so annoying.
Okay, what were the what werethe other ones you said?
Surf stars?
Uh we talked about Hannibal theBluey movie and Star Wars
Starfighter.
Okay, so Bowie, I mean, that'scool.
I don't think I'll be in thetheater to see it, but that's

(01:15:42):
cool.
I do appreciate it.
Great.

SPEAKER_07 (01:15:45):
Ivan hates Hasbeen Hotel and Bluey.

SPEAKER_02 (01:15:47):
First of all, and Australians, I think.
Why could I lie?
You know how much Australianthings I watch?
Okay, but either way, so like Ithink it's crazier.
Okay, either way, I don't hateBluey, stop that.
Like, I just don't have a childto go see.
And granted, I could be an adultand watch it, but I just don't
like I don't know, I'm just notgonna see it.
Not right now, anyway.
Um, and then Star Wars.

(01:16:08):
Here's the thing.
Here's the thing.
I don't give a damn about StarWars, not anymore.
I used to try and I can't tryanymore, but I do love that
cast, so now I'm like, do Iwanna see it?

SPEAKER_07 (01:16:20):
Listen, one of my fa one of my favorite things about
Star Wars is the fucking spacebattles.
That's like I think they'venever fully done it the way they
could do it, and I think itcould fucking roll.
Like, I want top gun in space.
I can see what I want.

SPEAKER_04 (01:16:38):
Give me gay, give me homoerotic space volleyball.

SPEAKER_02 (01:16:41):
Let's go.
Let's go.
Bring bring back Oscar Isaac.
Like, let's go.
Like, let's do it.

SPEAKER_07 (01:16:46):
Let's do the whole thing.
Um, Lilane, uh, we've gotAnaconda, Surfs Up, Hannibal,
Bluey, Star Wars, Starfighter.
Any opinions on any of those?

SPEAKER_00 (01:16:56):
Surfs up and Bluey got me on a whiplash because I
did not think that was evergonna happen in the whatever
year bingo card we're doing, because I did not think Bluey
would be in theaters.
I will watch it in theater, maybe not on uh opening night,
but I'll give it a shot.

(01:17:17):
Um I'm kind of on the same boatwith Ivan.
I tried to get into Star Wars, Ican't anymore.
I was talking with a friend whois obsessed with Star Wars, and
I just I hate to say this, Ilike I appreciate her love and
enjoyment for Star Wars, but forme, I'm just like the only

(01:17:39):
movies I actually sat throughlike being a end to end were all
the movies that Ray was in.
Um, what was the number?
See, I already forgot.

SPEAKER_05 (01:17:48):
So sorry, yeah.
Seven out of nine.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (01:17:51):
Yeah, that uh I mean the first one out of that
trilogy was good, and then itkind of was like okay towards
like the last two, and so I justkind of stopped enjoying it.
Um, but high respect foreveryone who loves those movies.
Um, I I can tell they're good.
I'm just I'm not like a sci-fiperson either.

(01:18:14):
I'm learning.

SPEAKER_02 (01:18:15):
Um I just don't think they live up to their
potential, that's a thing.
Yeah, and they just keepfumbling.

SPEAKER_00 (01:18:21):
Yeah, I don't know.
I think like if I try to watchthe other trilogies, um, my
opinion might change, but that'slike a whole sit-down situation.

SPEAKER_07 (01:18:33):
No, and and and there is a lot of pop culture to
enjoy there, but like they'renot gonna exactly be a great
watch, I think, to first timers.
Like, you kind of you had to bethere, kind of things, I feel
like, right, Phil.

SPEAKER_04 (01:18:47):
It's yeah, it's not like a a series with Lord of the
Rings where everyone is alwaysgonna tell you, hey, you can
watch this whenever.
Um, so it just doesn't feel likethat with Star Wars.
People will be like Star Warsfans, Eric will do this, be
like, you can watch this one, maybe skip that one, like this
is really good.
But like Lord of the Rings islike, nah, you gotta sit down
and watch all three.
Extended cut and make sure youmake time.

SPEAKER_07 (01:19:08):
Yeah, I mean, maybe, maybe because it's uh so
important to film history, youcan convince them to watch the
original trilogy, someone who'snever seen it.
Um, I think convincing them towatch the first three episodes
when they came out, like I loveepisode one.
I love the fancy.

SPEAKER_02 (01:19:24):
I do too, I do too.

SPEAKER_07 (01:19:26):
But I would never recommend that film to anyone to
watch for the first time.
I don't know.
Uh Attack of the Clones, my oneof my least favorite Star Wars
films.
Uh, it has moments, it reallydoes.
And then episode three, Revengeof the Sith, is a fantastic
fucking film.
I will sit on that.

SPEAKER_02 (01:19:43):
I do love that movie.
I will be honest.
That one's good.
It's worth it for that.
Yeah, I do love that movie.
Um, but that's like one of theonly things I absolutely love
for Star Wars.
Anything I ever loved otherwisehas been animated stuff.
Like, and like it, I just likewhat?
Like, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_07 (01:20:00):
So you're telling me you're not gonna go see the
Mandalorian and Grogu?
I don't want to talk about that.

SPEAKER_02 (01:20:05):
Don't let me talk about that right now.

SPEAKER_04 (01:20:06):
It's so clearly just a Disney Plus like looking at
the bunch of episodes together.
Yeah, cut together.

SPEAKER_07 (01:20:14):
It's really frustrating.

SPEAKER_04 (01:20:15):
Like with Milana 2.

SPEAKER_07 (01:20:17):
Yeah.
It's it's frustrating becauseagain, I just said earlier the
coolest thing about Star Wars islike the space stuff.
Arguably the second coolestthing is like the bounty hunter
aspect and all of that shit.
And they've never they kind ofcapitalized on that in the first
season, but then they completelyturned to whatever the fuck we
had to do with Grogu and makingthat the focus and selling toys

(01:20:37):
and shit.
So yeah, uh, I've been uhdisconnected from Star Wars, but
that cast definitely caught myeye, Phil.

SPEAKER_04 (01:20:44):
Yeah, I mean, there was that little uh little like
teaser photo.
Um, yeah, I mean, listen, ifthey can if they can get that
right and the Star Wars peopleare like, yeah, this is one
worth checking out, then I willlisten.
So we will see.
But uh, Eric, anything else weneed to cover before we get into
our game into the last part ofthis episode, we'll get

(01:21:04):
everybody's competitive spiritcome out.
Great.
Eric's favorite part.
Uh Lilane, have you ever done aKahoot before?

SPEAKER_07 (01:21:18):
It sounds familiar, but if you worked in corporate
America at any point, you mighthave done this.

SPEAKER_04 (01:21:25):
Oh yep, or just had a professor that didn't work.
I did it when I was a teacher.
Oh, also, the last thing thatEric did mention from the
Discord roundup is Hillary Duffis coming out with a new album.
I felt like that was veryimportant to come with this.

SPEAKER_02 (01:21:38):
Listen, I like her last album, so I don't give a
damn.

SPEAKER_08 (01:21:41):
I didn't, yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (01:21:43):
I'm excited.
I'm on board.
I'm excited.
So um, this is where you'll needyour phones.
And also, once again, for theaudio listening, audio, audio
only audience, we suggest youhead on over to our YouTube page
and watch the visual part ofthis episode as we play our
Kahoot.
And just go to that websiteright there, cahoot.it.
That is the game pin.

(01:22:04):
And I'll wait for everybody toget locked in.
We got 15 questions here thismonth.

SPEAKER_05 (01:22:11):
What do I do for my nickname?

SPEAKER_04 (01:22:13):
Yeah, Eric's gotta come up with a nickname.
I believe you're gonna be hereforever now, too.
Did Bodder win last month, Eric?
Or was it yeah, butter did win?
He did win because of the he hadthat crazy question about the
malls, right?
But then missed the ones aboutlike specifically for him about
music and hip-hop.

(01:22:34):
So yeah, um, I don't haveanything else.
I don't know Bob.

SPEAKER_07 (01:22:42):
Why Bob?
I don't know.
I felt under pressure.

SPEAKER_04 (01:22:45):
Why not even just like Gary, the name of the robot
from Superman?
Like, damn it.
He's like four is a name.
So it's Gary.
Which was an abliver ad-lib linefrom uh Alan Tudik.
Shout to him.
He'll be at CollectiveCon thisyear, Eric.
We might be able to talk to AlanTudic.
A little teaser for everybodythat's listening to this

(01:23:06):
episode.
Okay.
Let's get did you guys get topick your characters yet or not
yet?
Do I have to start?

SPEAKER_07 (01:23:11):
No, no, it says you're in.
See your nickname on the screen?
Question mark.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:14):
Sweet, everybody.
Let's start.
We got a cahoot by the wayforward podcast.
I hope it isn't.
Oh shit.
Is it starting right now?

SPEAKER_07 (01:23:20):
We're getting in.
Well, we get no characters.
I guess not.
Oh, that's fine.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:23):
That's weird.
Okay.
All right.
You'll see questions here pop upa little lane on your phone, uh,
or answers.
Which organization does Makimauh work for in Chainsaw Man?
Does she work for the TokyoDevil Hunters Corps, the Public
Safety Bureau, Chainsaw HunterDivision, or a Devil
Extermination Agency?

(01:23:45):
Four seconds.
Someone has an answer.

SPEAKER_02 (01:23:47):
Oops.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:48):
I did it wrong.
I did it wrong.
Oh man.

SPEAKER_05 (01:23:51):
I enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:52):
No one got it right.
Okay.
No one got that right.
The answer is the Public SafetyBureau.
I do.

unknown (01:23:58):
Dang.

SPEAKER_04 (01:23:59):
So I apologize, Elaine.
I did not I didn't think Ithought you guys would get a
chance to pick characters.
That usually is what happenswhenever you do this as far as
like little avatars.
But let me explain the game.
So there are going to be quizquestions.
There is going to be a questionwhere you type in your answer,
as you'll see, uh, you'll havethe opportunity on your phone.
There'll be a question where youneed to put things in like

(01:24:21):
chronological order.
Um there'll be a there'll be aquestion where you have to place
a pin on a photo.
That's Eric's favorite game uhin this, uh, which will a
question actually favoritequestion, which may or may not
come up later.
We'll see how it goes, Eric.
Um, and then Eric's actuallyfavorite game is called Slider.
So you'll see you'll have anopportunity to move the slider
across on your phone um fromleft to right, so you can pick a

(01:24:43):
number as to what the answer is.
It'll make sense once you seeit.
So um, but but uh yeah, it'spretty self-exclamatory.
So uh let's go to theleaderboard here.
Nobody, nobody scores.
So we have zeros across theboard so far.
Alright, next question is typethe answer.
Which Nickelodeon series teamedup with the Wild Thornberries

(01:25:04):
for a 2003 film?
This was a crossover moviebetween the Wild Thornberries
and what Nickelodeon show?
2003.
Give me that.
The Rugrats, Rugrats.
Okay, those were the only twoanswers we got.
All those are correct.
And it was the Rugrats and theWild Thornberries, uh, 2003

(01:25:26):
movie.
And uh for some reason, Eliza'spowers to talk to animals also
carried over into babies.
Do we need an answer?
No.
It was a good movie.
Babies are animals, man.
We we enjoyed that movie.
So um and the lane for the game, you can stay off mute.
Don't worry about the sound.
So you can stay you can stay offmute there.
You're you're fine for thispart.

(01:25:46):
Yeah.

SPEAKER_00 (01:25:47):
Perfect.

SPEAKER_04 (01:25:48):
All right, let's see who scores.
You also get the faster youanswer as well, Lelane, the more
points you get to.
Oh, so Lizard is in the lead.

SPEAKER_06 (01:32:14):
It was one of them.

SPEAKER_04 (01:32:15):
Who did you pick, Ludacris?

SPEAKER_06 (01:32:17):

SPEAKER_04 (01:32:18):

Tough.
That's tough.
That's tough.
Alright.
Next question.
No movement there on the board.
Nobody uh the Fast and theFurious.
I'm running out of charactersfor Fast and the Furious
question.
Although Eric will neverremember the characters, so I
can just keep it.
You can just start over.

SPEAKER_07 (01:32:36):
Yeah, no, for sure.

SPEAKER_04 (01:32:37):
Yeah, so next question is a slider.
How many species will beavailable in Jurassic World
Evolution 3?

SPEAKER_02 (01:32:43):
Why would you do that?

SPEAKER_04 (01:32:46):
I don't even know.
This one is for me.
That was so douchey.
Oh my god.
Oh, two of you were kind ofclose.
One and one person was way off.
Cool.
I don't think this is closeenough for points, though.
It's 82.
Let's see if it gives one of youpoints.

(01:33:07):
Oh, I told 89.
Okay.
No, it's close.
89 and 90.
It's not bad.

SPEAKER_07 (01:33:12):
Yeah, it wasn't close at all.

SPEAKER_04 (01:33:13):
Not bad at all.
I probably should have made thatrange a little smaller.
Oh, so it was 82 was the number?
82 is the answer.
82.
No movement there.
Couple questions left.
Five questions.
Here's a quiz.
As of today's date, which ofthese movies is not in the top
five in the worldwide boxoffice?
So which one of these movies, asfar as money made, is not in the

(01:33:34):
top five?
Jurassic World Rebirth, orMinecraft movie Superman, or
Lelo and Stitch?
Which one of these is not in thetop five?
Five seconds.

SPEAKER_05 (01:33:48):

It is Superman.
That is true.
Yeah.
Jurassic movies moving.
All these other five birds.
Jurassic movies make a lot ofmoney, man.
They're terrible, but they makea lot of money.

SPEAKER_02 (01:34:01):
But I didn't know that.

SPEAKER_07 (01:34:02):
This is the first film in like a decade or
something like that.
Or the first year in a decadewhere a superhero film isn't in
the top five.
That's why.

SPEAKER_04 (01:34:12):
I think Minecraft movie is number two.
Yeah.
Lilo and then number five is Howto Train Your Dragon.
So Superman is like rightoutside.
It's like number seven.
Yeah, that movie sucked, bro.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_02 (01:34:22):
No, it didn't.
I'm not talking about hero.
I'm not talking about these liveaction things.
I'm not talking about it.
Alright, Eric.
Did you watch points there?
I'm not talking about it.

SPEAKER_04 (01:34:29):
No, you don't need to.
It's okay, don't worry.
You've seen the real one.
Exactly.

Next question (01:34:32):
type the answer.
What anime is this?
A picture will slowly receivereveal itself.
Remember, the quicker youanswer, the more points you get.

SPEAKER_00 (01:34:42):
Oh.
No, no.

SPEAKER_03 (01:34:47):
Dang it.
I knew from the cover.
Oh, somebody.

SPEAKER_04 (01:34:51):
Whoever put spaces in between.

SPEAKER_02 (01:34:55):
That's not acceptable to answer.
I'm about to say, I gave it tospace it.
No, I that didn't count.
That didn't count.
It's not, it's actually, itdoesn't have spaces.

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:06):
There's no spaces in it.
And I gave extra answers, likefor an option to like it, but I
didn't put any spaces in.

SPEAKER_00 (01:35:14):
Dang it.

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:14):

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:20):
I love that.
I love the song Don Don.
Don Don.

SPEAKER_00 (01:35:24):
Maybe that's why I was slow, slow, because I took
time to put spaces.
Like, I knew that.

SPEAKER_02 (01:35:29):
Like once I saw the color, I was like, oh yeah, I
know what this is.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:33):
Lizard in the lead and Lelane and Bob close, but
this is anybody's game as wecome down the stretch.
Very worried.
I think.

SPEAKER_02 (01:35:40):
How did Bob catch up?

SPEAKER_04 (01:35:41):
I think, well, you guys didn't get any points for a
little bit.

pretty soon.

SPEAKER_02 (01:36:41):

know either.

SPEAKER_04 (01:36:50):
I might have fucked that up.
Okay, there you go.
Ivan's the only one I assumethat got it wrong.
