The Wake-Up Call is a daily encouragement to shake off the slumber of our busy lives and turn our eyes toward Jesus. Each morning our community gathers around a Scripture, a reflection, a prayer, and a few short questions, inviting us to reorient our lives around the love of Jesus that transforms our hearts, homes, churches, and cities. seedbed.com/wakeupcall
When Jesus comes into your life he becomes the endless source of eternal life that actually springs up from within you and then flows out of you to others.
We want Jesus to help us more than we want Jesus to have us.
Some of the sickest, most disabled, most devastatingly handicapped people I have ever known are some of the deepest wells of living water I have ever seen.
In the eyes of God, there are no deplorables, only wayward sons and daughters.
Why do we choose to be admired at the expense of being known?
What about your own notion of abundance must diminish in order for you to begin to grasp the abundance Jesus offers?
He has come to walk us home.
The Bible is clear: God never intended his people to have a king. He would be their King.
Jesus didn't run away from pain. He ran into peace.
But the minute money becomes about God through faith we are practically delivered from the idolatry of money into the mind-blowing economy of Jesus.
We threw the only Son of God out of his own vineyard and we killed him. And guess what? He's given us a second chance.
Be careful how you read because it will determine how you lead and, yes, how you seed.
Therefore, always pray and do not lose heart.
It is not a matter of how much or how little faith one has. It is where one's faith is anchored.
Jesus taught us the one who serves God becomes a transformed steward of everything, and the one who serves money is a self-deceived steward of nothing.
We think we are sinners because we sin. We don't understand that we sin because we are sinners.
The issue is not too much to do and not enough time. The issue is priority.
That's the kingdom of God—the very vibe of heaven. And it starts with the smallest seed.
Thank you for calling us to surface the hidden things in our lives that threaten to undo us.

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
