In 1922, Reverend Edward Hall and choir singer Eleanor Mills were found brutally murdered beneath a crabapple tree in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Their bodies were staged side by side, love letters torn and scattered across the grass. Despite a sensational trial that put Hall’s wealthy wife and her brothers in the spotlight, no one was ever convicted. More than a century later, the Hall–Mills murders remain one of America’s most haunting unsolved cases.
This episode is a Crown Noir production and was written, researched, and produced by A.C. Roberts.
