Hometown start with a global vision
The TyFry company is renowned as the industry leader in innovation, design and manufacturing of all variations of tenor drum mallets used today, and holds all of the global patents.
Pioneered by Tyler Fry at the age of 13 in Kincardine, Ontario, TyFry’s revolutionary product range has grown from the first handmade prototype to include the international best-selling TyFry Classic, Platinum, Ultimate, Ultimate Practice and the groundbreaking myTyFry Ultimate Custom tenor drum mallets.
Tyler is internationally recognized as the leading percussionist of a generation in the art of pipe band tenor drumming. By the age of 15, he had won every major professional solo tenor drumming event in North America; including the Canadian, United States and North American Championships. His band honours include three-time winner of the Grade One World Bass Drum Section Championship with the 78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band of Toronto, as well as countless Scottish, British, European and World band and drum corps titles with Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band and the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band under the leadership of the legendary Drum Major Jim Kilpatrick MBE.
Nowadays Tyler travels extensively throughout North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia conducting masterclasses and seminars, presenting and commentating at major events, and performing regularly on international tours with the infamous bagrock group, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
