four hundred and eighty we got in our first Indies?
Can you believe that in the first two desks no
team could get any runs? Orsmand Kowhaja one hundred and
eighty Cameron Green, how good is he going to be?
One hundred and fourteen first Test century and India num
for thirty six in reply?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Very nice.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
The NBL Grand Final Series continued last night, Game three
at Kudos Bank Arena in Sydney and it was the
Kings challenged early by the Breakers, but they got the
job done very comfortably in the end by twenty three
points ninety one sixty eight.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Game four back.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Across the Ditch tomorrow at Spark Arena and Sydney could
wrap it.

Speaker 4 (01:10):

eighteen thousand at.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
That game, biggest NBL history is a record.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Yeah. And now the A League as well. What about
this Perth glory one Western Sydney who was second I
think on the lad zero upset. Yeah, great window Perth glory.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
A couple of games the NRL last night as well
was Cranella upstage in Paramatta thirty points to twenty six.
And in the Queensland Derby. We can't really call it
anymore the new team, but yeah, the Britin Broncos twenty
eight knocked off North Queensland at sixteen. Hey, we've got
a big show ahead this morning, runners through the first
hour plays Blarry Well.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
We're going to talk swimming very soon. We've got the
Tasmanian Championships on which would be great. Now my favorite
female cricketer, Amy Smith, will have a chatter two months
three ships and that she's been huge and also I
fl fanasy foot now you're into this, yes, and we've
got that warning, the great warning to talk about that

(02:10):
we're doing.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
That's all in the first hour and hour two this morning.
Patty McCarty when I brought to the table family related
to him just about.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yes, great connection, great young man. I look forward to
talking to him.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I look forward to talking to him as well.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
So it feels about bringing you.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
We've got a live good sport this morning. Yeah, this
would be fantastic, don't I look forward to that later
in the show.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Crystal Ball predictions for twenty twenty three.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
You're not gonna believe, I said to Cam Brown yesterday,
send me three predictions. You're going to fall over when
you see Him's.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Extraordinary brown Western Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Bulldogs and Brownless
Geelong and Brenda can't go West coast to west cast.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Well, I've tried to be impartial on lo YouTube buffoons,
but we'll get to that later. And how about this
to one up the sh Ryan kindat And he's a
star musician of course, and he's got a song Who'll
make the eight now? And it's to the tune of
who Can It be now. I've got a little sneak
peak during the week.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Very very good.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
It's great. I look forward to that.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
He's coming in to do that for us. Roger looking
forward to that. It's a big two hours on the way.
Don't go anywhere, strap yourselves in for a big ride.
We're doing it all thanks to TAZ back your local
Combata delay. It is the water Boys for your Saturday morning.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
This is the water Boys.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Thanks to TAS back your local Combata delay. It is
the water Boys for your Saturday morning. On this March eleven,
twenty twenty three, reflecting on scot from the past seven days,
here's the water Boys week and wise.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
What are you going on locally, nashally and internationally.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Let's start close to home with the big news breaking
on Thursday that Sam and brook House is no longer
going to be the CEO of the TAZ money at
Jack Jumpers. Before I get your thoughts at Blair Brownless,
let's see what Larry Kesselman, the owner of the Jack Jumpers,
had to say on Thursday afternoon.

Speaker 5 (03:57):
The overwhelming feeling is successful to years.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
I think that's how I feel and feel indebted to
him for the work that he's done.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
There you go.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
That is Larry Kesselman, the owner of the Jack Jumper,
speaking about Simon brook House's departure.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
Did you that catch you off guard? I did, because
I'm a massive fan of Simon. We've had a bit
to do with him. You've had a lot to do
with him, actually, Brendo and I think it was a
great operat and we were in great hands, weren't we
when we came into the competition. So yeah, he's moving on.
Where do you think what's the story behind it? His
story behind it? Brand?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
No, Look, it's a mutual decision.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
According to Larry Kesselman, I was just surprised because we
had the MVP night a couple of weeks ago and
Simon got up last speech of the night actually and
gave a really rousing future motivational speech almost that you know,
they want to bring a championship back to Tasmania. The
fairy Tales done now, et cetera. But yeah, unfortunately he's
not going to be there any longer. And as you say,
the first employee of the jack Jumpers so really built

(04:52):
it from the ground up and to see it go
from nothing to what it is now. At my State
Bank arena is exceptional. So yeah, a big loss. And
I'm not going to replace him either at this stage
because the ownership thing's going to change obviously the next
twelve months or so, so they want to wait and
let the new owners pick a CEO.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Is that true? Your group all putting together some funds
and look at possibly buying the Jack Jumpers.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Yeah, we turn and guess what You're being left out?
Just likely left me out of the new pub you've
got too, So he's got to suck.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Now, what about recruiting wise, Milton Doyle is the number
one target. They'll throw the kitchen sink or what they
can of the kitchen sink to Milton Doyle. How would
you go with rash Aid Kelly? Would you see what's
at the market. I think you're going to go to
market with him and then see what's left over? And
Majet just Jet, he'd be the one who'd be a
bit shaky, I reckon, Brent.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yeah, Look, as much as I love Jet, he's one
of the great humans, I don't know if he'll be back.
And that saddens me to say because he's and I reckon,
he's done such a good job last or the first
two years of the club. But basically Scott ross told
Rossard Kelly and Josh Budgett that you just need to
wait and see what we do domestically first, because the

(06:03):
fur agency period opens up at the end of the
month and they'll get all the domestic players sorted out.
But yes, Milton Doyle has a contract in front of him,
so hopefully we're here about that the next week or
two because he'll be the first key piece of the puzzle.
But yeah, as far as the other two go, they
have to wait, unfortunately, and that must be tough being
an import.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Ye you know, I think they're used to it that day,
travel well and pick up contracts in all sorts of
different countries. But yeah, we'll watch that one with interest.
Where about Zavier Cooks.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Yeah, good news, wasn't it. During the work really.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Seven, I thought he's just this prodiculous young talent.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
Yeah, it surprises me how old he is as well,
But I know, good news and thoroughly deserve. We thought
he might have gone at the end of last season,
but you didn't get picked then. But yeah, it's a
it's a fantastic move. Obviously, there's plenty going on you're.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
At the turn your phone off or in a studio environment,
here was your radio craft?

Speaker 4 (06:50):
Pleased the silent button doesn't work on the Oh.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Some good news during the week too with some NBA
one signings.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
Vinky Joyce's having to play with the Northwest Thunder, which
is he's a journeyman of basketball. Really I remember him
from the ends at NBL days. But that's a good
pickup for the Northwest Thunder. And Devin Watson was signed
as a point guard for the High Art Chargers yesterday.
So a couple of things happening in NBO one. Nathan
Ellis to cricket has really signed with the Hurricanes for
three years. Let's see what nath had to say about

(07:21):
his commitment to the hobout Hurricanes during the week.

Speaker 5 (07:23):
As I said all the time, Hurricanes gave me my
platform to get where I am today, and yeah, really
pumped to sort of repay the faith and yeah, be
around here for another three and hopefully push for some
higher honors and some silverware.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
Yeah, yeah, how good is that? Nathan Ellis? We love him?
But what about domestically cricket Tasmania. Now there's a bit
of player movement Brene and you love this sort of thing.
Oh what do you know?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Well, it's only here say at the moment, because obviously
the season hasn't finished, to be fair, but that'll happen
as soon as the next Shield game's done during the week.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
This is this is terrible, honestly what I'm put it
up with you. Sorry to out many anyway to answer
your question.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
Yeah, Matthew Wade's obviously being spoken about whether he coud
to news is a contracted Tasbani in tog or he
hits the T twenty circuit. Peter Siddle potentially going back
to Victoria, but mcderm potentially going back to Queensland. There's
other Wow highs in the mix too that might you know,
not get a contract. So yeah, wait and see how
it all plays out, but certainly some movement will happen
over the off season. How would you back of Saint
Kilda's audio being leaked last weekend?

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Rossie line? Imagine imagine walking into the coaches officer ross
just a little bit of bad news.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
Do you think it might have been like the trainer
there they said you put this bit of film here
and he put it in the wrong spot or I
would want to tell him he would have gone read exactly,
but yeah, no, it was a practice game. They're talking
about a few things. I don't think that they all
saying not too much damage was done. And you think

(08:58):
that Saint Kilda will will be won't be thereabouts this year,
so I'm not sure that that's noticed.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Tim Watson had him in the top eight.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, yeah, I know that's right. That's quite amazing.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Yeah, Timmy Woodham ask Pete Barwick will be the new
president of the Peter bar He's a good man the
footy club for a long time and obviously a big
job ahead of him.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
But the news out of then, well they said they've
got enough for a senior team. They haven't got a
heap for players around the thirty thirty one mark and not.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Enough is it?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
It's not enough? And jeez that they're they're going to
be in trouble. It's going to be a long, long season.
They were bad enough last year, to be honest, goanorky
and they've lost some key player. So they last the season, well,
it'll be a struggle. Struggles. You get beaten, let's be honest,
by one hundred points or plus every single week. Yeah,

(09:49):
morale will be an all time low and they're just
going to have to battle their way through. And yeah, no,
it's going to be a very very long season for
Gonorke fans.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
Absolutely, And this is a cool story during the week
the National Second Division Soccer competition, So this will be
a comp between the A League and the mpl SO
second tier and South Hobart's formally applied to join that.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
So that's awesome. That's like an AFL reserves confection if
you like. So that'd be magnificent if they can pull
that off.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Yeah, exactly. It'd be interesting to watch this space too,
and whether longer term will there be a relegation promotion
sort of that's right, system that evolves from this, not
straight away, because you'd think that South Hobard, for instance,
would be a million miles away from a league at
this stage, but moving forward, who would know once you

(10:39):
started playing a good regular competition. So yeah, South But
they're very progressive, clive, aren't they. They always chase these opportunities.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Absolutely. That is the week that was.

Speaker 3 (10:49):
We've got so much coming up for you on the
show this morning now, so we're going to chat to
Patty mccartt and looking forward to that.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Blase uncle nephew in law. I think that's what you say.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
Also Crystal Balls for twenty twenty three in the AFL.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Ryan Kinder will join us too.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
Later this hour Adam morning Child from AFL Fantasy and
Amy Smith the Tasmanian Tigers and Haber Hurricane.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Spin Over will join us as well.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
But up next we're heading to the pool because the
Tasmanian and Swimming Championships are on this weekend and the
CEO of Swimming tasmani At, Jamie McIntyre, will join us
on the show that's after this on the water Boys
doing it old. Thanks to our friends at Tazmack, your
local Koboda dealer.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
This is the Water Boys.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Well we appreciate the support of Tasmack, you local Kubota dealer.
Here at the Water Boys, You've got Brent Costello and
Blair Brownless for you. Saturday morning. It is a big weekend,
a big long weekend of swimming at the Hobart Aquatic
Center with the CRYPTS Tasmanian Long Course Championships in action.
Looking forward to this and one man that is on
the ground at the Hobart Aquatic Center is a CEO

(11:49):
of Swimming Tasmania at Jamie McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Good morning, Jamie, welcome to the water boys.

Speaker 7 (11:54):
Good morning. Yeah, thank you big event.

Speaker 3 (11:56):
This is your market event for the year, isn't it?
And tell us about it? I might it started last night.
Bring us up the spot and where we're at.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
Yeah, as you said, it started last night. It goes Sunday,
Sunday and all day Monday. It's a four day competition
which is definitely our biggest on our calendar. It's quite
an exciting time and it's the pinnacle about four to
the end of the long course.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Sergent now, Jamie. I was having a look at the program.
It is stacked. No wonder you've got it over four days.
The number of events and competitors is outstanding.

Speaker 8 (12:33):
Yeah, it really is.

Speaker 7 (12:35):
We have nearly three hundred competitors, a much smitted stand
a little bit on previous us due to the not
as many numbers coming to Mister State. Usually we have
about three hundred comes to Mister State. But there's other
championships on around the country as we speak, and a
lot of it's due to the World Championships which were
held in December. In Victoria. So Victoria had to move

(12:59):
there Stade Championships this week in and of course that
hurts us a little bit financially, and also swimmers don't
have a stronger competition from some of the mainlands. We're
sent to stack up pretty well.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Yeah, a bit of a shame. But of all the competitors,
I do have one favorite, Jamie, and that's your superstar
male swimmer, Max Giuliani. How come we and well, I'm
a teacher at Guildford Young College and Max went to
Guildford Young College and.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
You had what impact on his development as a swimmer plays.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
As a swimmer? Zero, We had good chats, We had
a good jets out of the pool. But is he
is he the marquee swimmer for the of the of
all the locals, Jamie, Well, Max.

Speaker 7 (13:44):
Has moved on. Max has actually moved the Queensland and
he's training with the Miami's Club Up and Queen Plans
at the moment. So he's like swimming in the new
South Wild Open Championships this weekend. So yeah, he moved
away about six months ago, along with probably eight others
at the time. And I should say that we have

(14:06):
all top pass swimmers they're all swimming out of Queensland
at the moment. So it's a bit like what we
with copy does to Western Australia all out team to
gravitate the Queen Flan because a shame the coach is
put in with all the hard work and they move on.
And let's progression, I suppose, and so hopefully we can

(14:28):
get a Tasmanian swimmer up and out of these championships
for actually days and make some training Tasmania.

Speaker 3 (14:37):
Jim Jay McIntyre, the Swimming Tasmania CEOs, our guest on
the water Boys this morning.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Is there anything you can do to stop that influx
of people into state? Jamie?

Speaker 3 (14:45):
What would have to change here in Tasmania for you
to keep those athletes here?

Speaker 7 (14:51):
Things are changing. We actually have Wayne Laws, who's head
coach is an extra Olympian coach from the Nana Wadding
Club in Victoria. He spends signs Tasmanium and he spent
a lot of time. He comes into the state, spends
a lot of time with our coaches and we've actually
seen the standard lift the coaching, which I think was

(15:12):
calling behind a little bit, is now right up there
with We should probably know Paul Croswell, who's Hobart Aquatics coach,
has moved on and is coaching at Miami in Queensland,
so we're now getting that sort of development and from
having his coaching we actually have fantastic tim has come
from it and I think we're seeing a rebirth at

(15:33):
the moment with a lot of the under age when
it's coming through and there's got another really good crop
to hit the big side. And again we look at it.
Last year we have three Tasmanians making the train thing,
one in the age and two in the A scene
went away and the US. So that's the first time

(15:57):
that we actually had three athletes making Australian team in
the one year, which has unheard of fem four from Tasmania.
So that's a great job the coaches are doing.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
And fantastic stuff. Jamie. Well, as you said at your
mark event of the year, big big four days ahead
or three left now and goes through right through to
Monday night.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Hates in the morning and the finals that in the evening.

Speaker 3 (16:19):
Absolutely get along and support it, Jamie. What what's the
key times I guess for people don't want.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
To come and watch.

Speaker 7 (16:25):
Basically we start at nine and finish around one o'clock
each day and then we start again at four to
about seven of the night.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Fantastic and spread over that time to.

Speaker 7 (16:36):
Give our athletes time to have a bit of a
rest before the finals and also not swimming to any
events in the one.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Day fantastic stuff.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
That's the CRYPTS Tasbonian Long Course Championships from Swimming Tasmania
and you just listen to the voice of the CEO,
Jamie mckinto I appreciate your time, Jamie, good luck for
the event on the weekend.

Speaker 7 (16:55):
Thank you very much for your time.

Speaker 8 (16:57):
Really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Good to have you on board, Jamie mckintoye.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
There from me at Tasmania, looking forward to the championships
all weekend, looking forward next two to talking to another
Guildford young college student, so Blair Smith with Amy Smith,
the Tasmanian Tigers, Hobart Hurricane spin bowler. She's up next
here on the water Boys right across Tasmania thanks to
tas Back, your local Kombota dealer.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
This here's the water Boys.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Thanks to Tasmack, your local Commuta dealer. It is the
water Boys with the Brent Coross solo and Bled Brownless.

Speaker 9 (17:27):
It's the water Boys Cricket Report.

Speaker 3 (17:29):
How about the last few months for this next superstite
because yawning us on the line. Australian World Cup duties
over in South Africa, yes, then back home to win
a w NCL time yes, and then winning a Great
cricket title with.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Newtown last week as well. We talk of Amy Smith,
who's been good enough to join us on the program
this morning. Hey, Amy, how are you.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
Good? Thanks? Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Great to talk to you. As we said, incredible resume
you've put together the last few months. You come back
down to earth, Yes.

Speaker 10 (18:02):
Nearly I think, Yes, it's been a pretty big, big
few months. So yeah, good way to finish finish the
cricket season.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Absolutely, let's go back to the start because as we said,
you're on World Cup duties under not owed World Cup
for Australia.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
How was that experience?

Speaker 3 (18:18):
First of all, I think you said when I caught
up with the other day that was your first national
team experience.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
How was that?

Speaker 11 (18:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (18:26):
It was pretty special. Obviously not quite all the way,
but I guess being part of the first under nine
ins World Cup is pretty special and I think it's
really important for women's cricket. I'm glad I.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
Could be a part of it now. I mean just
a quick one on that, because you made it to
the semi final and England only got ninety nine, and
then you came in with the bat top scored with
twenty six and you fell a couple of runs short
because we know you as a leaspin bowler, but you
actually topped scored in that not to though you were

(19:00):
going to bring the girls to victory.

Speaker 10 (19:05):
Yeah, unfortunately I didn't. I thought I was as well,
and I guess good learning experience for myself too in
a high presured game. But yeah, the girls did well.
Obviously we did get across the line and possibly choked
a little bit, but good learning experiences there.

Speaker 4 (19:23):
Well, it got better after that than they because you
came back to the Tazzy Tigers female team and you
actually smashed it throughout the tournament, you guys, And actually
the final got a little bit tied in that one,
but you got across the line. A dramatic last over
talk to you through that. That was crazy.

Speaker 11 (19:41):
Oh they're quick.

Speaker 10 (19:44):
She's just an amazing person and cricketer. But the ability
she had has to do and that over was just
incredible and I can't believe I was part of it
and what I was witnessing. I thought I lost the
game over before, so I was being shocked, to be
quite honest, and wasn't believing it until the last ball

(20:06):
was done.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
And then after that back to club cricket, and I
know every cricketer loves getting back to the local club
and playing. And then you've got another premiership there with Newtown.

Speaker 10 (20:19):
Yes, yeah, the girls have played really well throughout the season,
mainly in the fifty overs, so I'm glad I could
sit in at the end. But yeah, like another interesting game,
another close game, probably was in a position not to
win again and Brunton Arena, it's got a few interesting

(20:40):
close games at the moment. So yeah, another good win
and another another final.

Speaker 4 (20:47):
He's that trophy cabin of yours, Amy must be filling
up nicely. And where to next? What are you having
a break now? That season over and then you've got
some more cricket commitments.

Speaker 10 (20:58):
Yeah, the break's coming up soon. We finish off our
contact's not done until the end of March, so we
have to hang around do some fitness with cricket tads
and then after that, we've got a couple months off
for off season, still have to do a bit of
fitness to make sure we're not losing anything, and saying

(21:20):
on tack quickly to go three pete and then get
back into pre season during so some sort of season
will go pretty quick.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
And you said, Amy, you're sort of putting your school
on hold for this year and really focusing on your cricket,
which is exciting about a really fine tune your skills,
I suppose, and trying to the next step again.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Well, nice, Amy finished year twelve last year you'll for
Young College and did extremely well, So.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
We know about you.

Speaker 4 (21:48):
Actually, let me ask you, well, I take you for
Amy in term one in year twelve, massive year, brand,
I think about this and all the study commitments. How
many days of school did you turn up in turn
one with all your cricket commitments? Member you hardly there
were you?

Speaker 10 (22:04):
I think it was maybe maps three weeks many Sorry
about that?

Speaker 4 (22:11):
No, that was fine. We knew we had we worked
out the program for you because then I saw your
results at the end of the year. Amy, you did
extremely well considering all the cricket commitments you had. We're
avon at Guildford. Very proud of you and what you're
ab to achieve. Thank you now, and just quickly what
about those times because I didn't actually teach you, but
you were in an athlete development class cricket with Peter Dubernudo,

(22:35):
the Newtown cricket coach and a bit of a legend
around Hobart. I used to just pop in and give
a few little tips, like I was literally walking past
the room, drop in and clear the front foot, Amy,
and then just slog on the on side. Did you
take any of that on board?

Speaker 10 (22:54):
I really tried. I think in a semi final help
I got caught out long. Ugh, So maybe I could
go on the leg side. But look, you're always at
the front nd when you know, starting bowling thinking good position.
She's taught me.

Speaker 2 (23:10):
Well, he sounds like a nightmare at school, Amy.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
He just must be a sport group. You can get
around all you star sports people and just be a
pain in the rear. I reckon, that's how odd sleep
playing out and you just be polite to him. Hey,
we really appreciate it, absolutely. Hey, you really appreciate your
time this morning. You're an absolute star. We're down in
the last few months It's been awesome to watch you

(23:34):
you grow and develop and we look forward to seeing
that in the future as well.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Thanks so much for joining us on The water Boys.

Speaker 10 (23:39):
Awesome.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Thanks for having me Amy Smith the star tas Money
and Crickets. Blarry, She's a wonderful salute.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Gun bowling all around her. We just think of her
as a leg spander. She can that as well.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Bern absolutely absolutely how big big second out of the
show to come soon. But before we get to that,
Adam morning Child will join us next season an AFL
Fantasy expert, looking forward to chatting the warning about all
things fantasy on The water Boys. Right after this, thanks
to Tasmack, your local Commuta dealer, this is the water Boys.
Thanks to our friends at Tasmac, your local Commuta dealer.

(24:11):
It is The water Boys with Brent Corselo and Blair Brownless.
Now I love this time of year, Blair, because AFL
Fantasy is in full swing.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
I absolutely love it.

Speaker 4 (24:20):
Yes, because you're going to spare five hours per day
to get their team right.

Speaker 3 (24:25):
I've got a few too many teams to be fair,
but I'll tell you what. I love this man's work
because he is all over at from AFL dot com
dot au Fantasy. It is Adam warnychild. We're getting on
each and every year to talk fantasy on the show.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Good day, Warnie.

Speaker 11 (24:37):
How are you good?

Speaker 8 (24:38):
April Good?

Speaker 11 (24:40):
How are we going?

Speaker 2 (24:41):
We're going well, mate, How are you going? This must
be a really busy time of the year for you.
All your hard work's probably done from November to January February,
I suppose as you build up to the season, is
it or is it now?

Speaker 11 (24:52):
Yeah, well it's the whole time. Yeah, it's been pretty busy.
It's been a great preceleaser. I think we've probably worked
out in some of the players on this track this
precesson and getting all organized for our fantasy season because
obviously it all kicks off on Thursdays. So yeah, it's
all getting to the end of it now. We've been
coming out plenty of content on the AFL website, so
hopefully we're helping people get there and ourselves. Hopefully we

(25:15):
can get o FFLs some good teams as well before
round one.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Now, we had the big switch from Ultimate Footy to
AFL Fantasy this year, so that's caused a few headaches,
I think for people, but we're getting there.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
Slowly and you must have so.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Many subscribers now to the AFL dot com dot au
fantasy platform and what's everyone doing? Is it more the
traditional classic competition or more the keeper leagues these days?

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Do you find?

Speaker 8 (25:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (25:38):
So Classic is pretty popular. So that's the game where
you've got a salary cap of it's fifteen point five
million this year. They keep it in line with what
the AFL one is and you pick your squad of
thirty and it's pretty much an individual game. Obviously, you
can play against each other in leagues and there's a
big overall prize and that sort of stuff. But people
are really flocking to draft and so that might be

(25:59):
a single season drafts where like the AFL draft, you
basically every player is unique. So if I've got pick one,
and I wish I had that in my draft, but
I would be getting Josh Dunkley because he's got the
mid Fords status and I think it's going to be
a star this year up at the Lions. So each
players unique, so you're the only one with him. But
then in the keeper leagues, which I know you're all

(26:21):
over Brennan, dominate and dominate is where you get to
keep your draft, your players, and then you get to
keep a certain amount each year, and so you're sort
of rewarded for picking up sort of the stars on
the rise, which is a great part of the game,
and you could be a real list manager there. But
these these are growing every year massively and the great

(26:42):
fun to be part of. And like you said, there's
probably a few leagues that we can be in. And
sometimes it gets a little bit too much sometimes and
you feel like you're managing a fair bit going on
with all your teams.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Well, I was so stressed out the other night warning
I had picked one in our Keeper League draft. We're
starting from scratch, so I've got the pick of anyone
I wanted, and I didn't know whether to go for
Dunkley or go for someone like Golden.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Or Ashcroft or Descross, and it stressed me all day.
I didn't know what to do.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
I kept changing my mind, ended up going Dunky and
I've still got Ashcroft with my second pick as it
came back around, so I was pretty happy with that,
and I've got Golden as well, so it all worked
out pretty well for me then.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
But it is a stressful time, isn't it.

Speaker 11 (27:21):
Well, it is and you've got your picks there nicely.
I think those guys will set you up well well.
When you're starting new keeper league, it's interesting because you've
got that little mix of you still want to win it,
someone can win it this year, but also you want
to set yourself correct. You've definitely done that with Ashcroft there.
I think he could be out number one fantasy picking

(27:41):
over the next decade.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
For a while.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I reckon absolutely Ashcraft.

Speaker 4 (27:44):
Well, he'll be in everyone's team for sure. Now who's
the most expensive player?

Speaker 6 (27:48):
Is it?

Speaker 4 (27:48):
Rory lad Yeah?

Speaker 11 (27:50):
So Rory Laird was the highest averaging player last year,
an awesome season, and I think he put it together
really nicely. He tackles because they're worth four points in
fantasy and that gets it there. But since he's switching
the midfield in the last couple of years, has just
been racking up the pill and that's what we want
from a fantasy player. And I know there's some other
versions of the game there where they care about how

(28:12):
they use the ball and all that sort of stuff,
but we're just purely about a kick is worth three points,
a tackle's worth for a mar's worth three points, and
the players can get bulk numbers all the way through
is who we love in the Fell Fantasy. So Rory
lad is expensive, but he could be worth it because
we do have captains in fantasy. And if you're getting
double points as someone that's getting over one hundred and

(28:35):
twenty a game, like Edie last year, then he's an
absolute winner.

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Lucky you don't get minus five for kicking it backwards
With Rory Lead, he'd been a negative overall. But as
you said, you just count total kicks. But now will
you give us some value. Who's a couple that we
could you think are really good value picks?

Speaker 11 (28:53):
Well, I guess that's the key to the game a
little bit is the value. So you're wanting to look at,
we'll start there at the bottom of men and that's
like a Will Ashcroft. Like we mentioned that he's going
to be a star. I think everyone needs to have him.
There's a West Coast kid called Reuben Ginbi and I.

Speaker 8 (29:08):
Think Breno.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
Speaking quite.

Speaker 11 (29:15):
The mid status, so I think he's a winner there.
So a lot of those kids are great ones to
be looking at. But we've mentioned there Errol Golden before.
I think he's got a big type of guy. That
there are the types of picks that can win you
the competition because he's a bit under price, and if
you're trying to get a guy that is going to
be close to the top end of their position, that's

(29:37):
all you like. So Errol is definitely right up there
for me. But the traditionally in the classic games, at
the salary cap game, it's a bit of a guns
and rookies type thing that we want to go for him.
You're locking your big premium players, but you try to
have those kids, all the all the up and comers
coming through, and so a couple of other guys that
I'm pretty keen on. I think Will Phillips for North Melbourne.

(29:58):
He's over his sort of glads Angela Fever's a a
bit of issues in his first couple of seasons, but
he'll be slotting straight into that midfield and I'll be
all over him. And a nice sneaky one that might
be a little bit more. Is Charlie comfortable in the
back line for the Gold Coast Sons. He's got about
three hundred K next to his name and I think
that he's going to slot on that half back and

(30:19):
that's a good position for Fantasy footy. So it's another
little tip if you can find some of those half
backs that can do that. We do like that along
the way so they can take a couple of marks
but also get plenty of the ball and if they
can push back and take those kick ins, you can
get a BoatUS three points.

Speaker 8 (30:34):
For doing that as well.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Absolutely well, mate, you're a very busy man at this Tommy,
so we appreciate your time on the water Boys this morning.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Thanks for a little update and good luck if you've
got any draft still to come. I'm sure you're organized.

Speaker 11 (30:45):
By now, are I've got to cover to come this
weekend actually, so I know that my job it's almost
about Friday morning, just over week BIX. In the morning,
I'll be sending my line up to the weekend and
hopefully I'll be all right and getting some.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Wins for the awesome stuff.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Mate, Thanks so much for your time, Adam morning Child
from AFL dot com dot A Fantasy Appreciate.

Speaker 8 (31:05):
It, mate, no worries. Have a good weekend.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Awesome mate, good to talk to you. That is our
first hour the water Boys, done and dust for this morning.
We've got a superstar joining us afternon after the new
Sport and weather. In extra time, a Sydney Swans defender
and one of your family members will join us on
the show.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
You'll work out how tight we are when we talk
to Patty.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
Will we okay? Hopefully answers the phone to start. That'd
be the first job to worry about.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Also, we look at our Crystal Will predictions for twenty
twenty three. That'll be interest Geelong Jeong Yes, and Ryan
Kinda winds up the show for us. Looking forward to
hearing from a good song ahead around one of the
AFL footy that's to come in our two of the
water Boys this morning thanks to tas back your.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Local Commota dealer.

Speaker 8 (31:48):
This is the water Boys.

Speaker 3 (31:52):
Big first out of the show as always, but actually
we've got some big stuff coming up here in extra time.
Before we get to that, let's go to the overnight score.
Sydney the King's one foot away from winning the NBL
Championship for twenty twenty three with a big win over
New Zealand in Game three last night, ninety one sixty eight,
Game four at Spark Arena in New Zealand tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
What do you got for us? Blairy eighteen thousand at
that game, huge crowd. But what about the cricket of course,
day three out the Australia four hundred and eighty all out,
Kowaja one hundred and eighty and cam Green absolute start
one hundred and fourteen India nine to thirty six. In reply,
can we knock them over today? That would be very
very interesting, be very nice, Ailee Glai well perf glory

(32:36):
if you don't mind what Western Sydney zero?

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Yes, very nice.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
And the NFL last night we saw Paramatta lose to
Kronulla thirty twenty six and Brisbane got the job done
twenty eight to sixteen against Northquet.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
Broncos are back. They have been in the Doldron for
a few years back.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Now I wish I had Sister Sledge with our family
to play here, because the next guest we've got coming
up this morning is almost a family member.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
He officially yet is soon to be family member. We've
got Patty mccarton and who's dating, of course, Lucy Brownless,
the daughter of Billy Brownless.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
You've organized this during the week, now, get a little
concerned when you do this because it often takes a
while to get done.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
And Craig Kelly made as nervous couple. You've got the
job done there, so I'm backing in here for him
to answer the phone.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
That's one of the great young men you will ever
come across, Brent, and he's a proud Tasmanian as well.

Speaker 3 (33:30):
Good look forward to asking about that. What's a little
surprise for a good sport this week?

Speaker 4 (33:35):
As to be emotional get the tissues out. Actually it'll
be emotional. Brand I know you haven't got emotional bone
in your body. That's why. That's what my wife says
to me.

Speaker 2 (33:44):
Actually you actually do okay, so you should have said
be on my wedding day. Goodness gracious.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Crystal Wall.

Speaker 3 (33:50):
Predictions for twenty twenty three for AFL coming up to
and Ryan Kinder to end the show with a song.

Speaker 8 (33:55):
Looking for that.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
That's all in ours all the water Boys this morning,
don't go anyway doing it. Thanks to Tasmak your local
Commoda dealer, he's the water Boys. Thanks to tas Back,
your local Commoda dealer. It is the water Boys with
Brancosselo and Blair Brownless this morning, we're turning our attention
to the footy on the show now and Blarry I'm

(34:20):
going to throw this to you because you've you've set
this up. You've got some family on the show. We'll
get to that shortly. But who we got on the line.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
Post, Well, we've got Patti McCartin from the Sydney Swans,
the superstar, the great defender out there. Good morning, Patty,
there you go.

Speaker 8 (34:36):
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
Well, it's great to have you on the show. Now,
you if you've never forgotten your roots, because you were
actually born in Hobart, weren't you, Patty?

Speaker 8 (34:45):
Yeah, I was, man. I was born in Hobart at
the at the Cavalry a long time ago now, so yeah,
I've never forgotten my roots for sure.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
And your dad and Matt mccarton was well, as it
turned out at the time. He was playing for New
nor Fake. Actually he told you a few stories about
how good he was. In fact, I played against him.
He was a very good ruckman actually, And so he
started he started New Norfolk and then went across the
Clamont coach Claimont in the SFL for a few years.

Speaker 8 (35:13):
Yeah, yeah, mate, he's so he went back down to Tazzy.
I think they would have been like maybe early nineties
or something like that. And yeah, I hear a lot
of stories about New Norfolk and he's a lot of
the rivalries back in the day with Clarence and you know,
my my mum's brother actually played there as well. My
uncle he played at New Norfolk and a lot of

(35:33):
my dad so the good mates now that he's still
catched up with a lot. So yeah, made he absolutely
loved it down there, and my brother Charlie were born there,
and yeah, he always talks about if he if he could,
he'd love to move move back down to Tazzy. I
think he has very fond memories down there with my
mum and and us two boys, so before tom came along.
So yeah, mate, I heard a lot about when I

(35:55):
was younger and definitely having forgotten about my my roots
down in Tazy.

Speaker 4 (35:59):
That is pret because we're a bigger State of Origin
team where you can put Patty mccaff and fall back
or cent half back, which would be great. Yeah, we
can't put Tommy in. We could put Patty in, but
in Ausous's congratulations on a wonderful season last year. It
was fantastic to see you back in form and intercepting
across a half back. You must have had your doubts

(36:21):
over the journey. You had the eight concussions there, Patty. Yeah,
and you left the Saints and to do what you
did last year for Sydney Swans. It was quite remarkable.

Speaker 8 (36:30):
Really, No, thanks man, it was. Yeah, I mean it
was just good to be back amongst it. I think
I think I had sort of a few years out
of it. I probably had three years where I was
not sort of involved at all in top locks at
the level for you. I played in the VFL in
twenty twenty one, but that was sort of COVID and
it was a bit of a disaster. So yeah, mat

(36:54):
it was. I was very lucky. I don't I don't
take it for granted that I've got an opportunity with
the s They sort of took a bit of a
punt and just said come down and train and we'll
see how we go. And that was sort of last
pre season and at the end of sort of fed
they said, yep, we'll give you a crack and sign
me up, and then the rest sort of history. I
came in and I thought I never really played too

(37:15):
much defense before, but going into a back line where
it was pretty said I had ramps and calm down
there and guys like Jake Lloyd and Harry Cunningham and
boys that have played a fever to foot down there
sort of made it quite as you've made and just
slip in and play my role and yeah, we went
right last year. Obviously felt just a bit sure, but
it was a great year mate. I really enjoyed it,

(37:36):
and hopefully we can go again this year.

Speaker 2 (37:39):
Patty, how is the concussions these days made?

Speaker 3 (37:41):
And is there anything you need to do week by
week to help combat that I suppose happening again in
the future.

Speaker 8 (37:48):
Yeah, No, it's all good, mate, set of touch with it.
It's something that I haven't really thought about at all,
and yeah it's good. I mean I haven't had one
for I mean, I had a little sort of thing
last year, but I was fine, and I haven't had
really had one for probably the best part of four years.
So it's good man. It's probably one of those ones
that as time goes on, people just sort of start

(38:08):
to forget to be a little bit more. And I think,
you know, even last year, the more I just played
footy and the more I went all right and we
went up, people sort of just forget about the concussion
and stuff and just sort of focus on me playing.
So it's good. It sort of changed a little bit
at the start of people who are quite worried about
me playing again and the fact that I might get
hurt or you know, stuff like that. So it's sort
of switched out of the way now that I've been

(38:28):
able to play a bit of footing and swing a
few games together without anything happening, and hopefully that didn't
keep going.

Speaker 3 (38:34):
Sidney Swans defender Patty mccartin's our guest on the water
Boys this morning. Tell us about September last year, Patty,
because obviously a high range of emotions. I suppose, qualifying
for the Grand Final we've been up and about, but
then obviously things didn't go your way on Grand Final Day.
How has that been over the preseason coming to terms
with the loss, I suppose?

Speaker 2 (38:53):
And has it made you more hungry for twenty twenty three?

Speaker 8 (38:56):
Yeah? I think so. I mean, in general, this final
series was so great. I absolutely loved it. I've never
played finals before. I obviously the same thing. You know,
we played in the first final, there was eighty thousand.
In the second final, we played at a knock sold
out at CJ, which was almost loud of them, you know,
the first the two other finals were so loud there

(39:18):
we played against Collingwood who we was just enough supporters
and the obviously the Grand Final was an idea, but
the experience in itself was one that I really enjoyed
before proviously beforehand all this stuff and playing the game.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
You know.

Speaker 8 (39:30):
Yeah, as I said, we didn't win, but the experience
is great and hopefully you can learn a few things
from it and if we get back there put it
into place. But yeah, I mean it was obviously difficult,
not idea and probably the other thing is it hurts
is not but is an idea is you know mum
and dad we've got a pub and jowing them down
there a bit and obviously less family, big big Gelong

(39:50):
Enuffy so a bit. But anyway, it was too good
on the day And yeah.

Speaker 4 (39:58):
Credit exactly. He could have been too upset, Patty, because
we just spoke about you being born in Hobert, but
you lived in Geelong all your life, you played for
the Geelong Falcons, you went to Geelong.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
Grady couldn't have been too upset.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Well, yeah, but he's got a great Geelong connections as
he spoke about there. Of course you're going to be
able to Now on a personal note, Patty, I just
want to delve here a little bit because now you're
you're going steady with Lucy Brownless, daughter of Billy Brownless,
and so my niece. So just be careful there. But

(40:32):
last Friday, Patty, we went to the engagement of younger
sister Ruby Brownless and to Joshy there and I was
trying to Lucy. You weren't there because you had to
play the next day, But Lucy was feeling a little
bit of pressure to progress. Their relationship.

Speaker 8 (40:55):
Must be in the information that she doesn't tell me
you want to be the favorite uncle.

Speaker 3 (41:03):
How do you feel, Patty about inheriting this baffoon into
your family?

Speaker 2 (41:07):
I guess is it worth it? That's I'm trying to say, very.

Speaker 8 (41:13):
Very lucky mate. I often say to people that it's
a very good family. The Browdmises and a lot of
good people there. So whenever we have sort of Christmas
stuff or things happening, I always love having a beer
with Where and Answer and Bill and everyone catching up
with Yeah, with all the crews. So it's good. Made
a great family and not feeling any pressure yet, but

(41:36):
there might be becoming.

Speaker 4 (41:37):
So yeah, yeah, that's right. I may have embellished that
story a little bit there, Patty, so don't be too concerned. Yeah,
but how good is it to play with your brother?
That would be fantastic at AFL level. You know, you
grow up and you kick the foot in the backyard
and now you're playing with Tommy. That is something special,
isn't it.

Speaker 8 (41:58):
Yeah No, I'm very lucky man. And I guess you
know as well. You grow up with a sort of footy,
big footy family and you love playing food together. And
I think you know, I would have been the exact
same as you guys. Mate. You know, me, Charlie and
Tom we loved their footy growing up. And yeah, it's
just it's been an absolute dream come true to be honest,
absolutely loves it. And I think you know, probably the

(42:21):
more special bridages where sort of we both have come from.
And you know, probably you know, three or four years
ago we had a todd Man Tom that be playing
in the same back line together, playing full season together
and playing in a Grand Final, we probably would have
laughed in your face. So I think you know that
kind of stuff he's very special and probably the good

(42:41):
part now is it you know we played that year
together last year, but you know, hopefully we've got a
few more years left of doing it and you know,
getting better at it and hopefully going one further last year.
That's great man. It's something that I definitely don't take
for granted and know that I'm very lucky to do
and not many people get the chance to do it. Yeah,
it's awesome.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Massive a year ahead for the Sawneys has not doubt
about that. Patty.

Speaker 3 (43:04):
Great to have you on the show now. Some people
wouldn't know you're a top one diabetic. And we've got
a segment called the Good Sport Award, which we're going
to announce next. If you can hang around, we've organized
for a young man to come into the studio. It's
a big fan of yours for that particular reason. So
yet good enough to hang around, mate. We'd love you
too to help us with a good Sport Award.

Speaker 8 (43:23):
No, of course, boys, we'd love to help out.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Good fantastic stick around.

Speaker 3 (43:26):
Patty mccarton will be with us next as we announced
the winner of the Good Sport Award here on the
water boys right.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Across tas Bonia. Thanks to tas Mak, your local Combota dealer.

Speaker 4 (43:35):
This is the water Boys.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
Thanks to tas Mak, your local Cobota dealer. It is
the water Boys for you Saturday Morning with Brent Costello
and Blair Brownless.

Speaker 1 (43:44):
He's been doing the hard yuys this week thanks to McDonald's.
It's time to announce the next winner of the water Boys.
Good spiderwards.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
We love this segment.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
We'll get to give someone one hundred bucks suspend it
into sport thanks to our friends at McDonald's pick up
forty chicken, McNuggets and tangy Cajun sauce at macas drive
through today Blarry, who is our winner this week?

Speaker 4 (44:03):
Well every week, Brene I just read out the winner.
But guess what we have the winner in the studio
with it. It's young Nash bar but he's nine years old.
Good morning Nash, good morning. Yeah, great to see you
in the studio. Now you play some footy for who's
your club?

Speaker 12 (44:19):
Clarence Football Club.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
Clarence Football Club. And I'm sure you've heard about some
famous X players there at along the way as well,
but what position all of them? He's a utility wherever
there's trouble, and they said Nash the sort of out
as well. Now on KO, Nash, what do you do
on KO?

Speaker 10 (44:40):
I watch.

Speaker 2 (44:42):
Basketball in the summer and spring and football in the
autumn and winter.

Speaker 4 (44:48):
And who's your football team? What do you like? Yescident?

Speaker 1 (44:54):
Because my dad goes for us.

Speaker 4 (44:57):
He's been brained young. Now Nash has a condition. He
has type one diabetes, don't you in, Nash, So you
have to monitor that your your blood sugar levels. Yes, Now, Nash,
We've got a special guest for Nash. Because who do
you admire in the a f L. Nash?

Speaker 2 (45:17):
Paddy McCarten.

Speaker 4 (45:18):
You love Paddy mccarton. And why do you like Paddy.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
Because he has type one dietes.

Speaker 4 (45:24):
Well, guess what, Nash, We've got him on the line.

Speaker 9 (45:28):
Paddy, good morning to you.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
I'm good, Yeah, good stuff now Paddy. Well, any advice
for young Nash because you picked up some type one
diabetes I think when you're about ad or nine or something,
wasn't it? Yeah?

Speaker 8 (45:47):
Similar, very very similar. So you've no mate, You're doing
a great job. I think just try and get as
much help as you can. And I think that's probably
the main b advice I give to you is use
your parents, use your teachers, at for your doctors. Just
try and get as much help as you can. Don't
ever be afraid to talk about it if you've got

(46:08):
any problems or things going on, because everyone always wants
to help. And from what it urds like, mate, you're
doing a great job. You must be playing pretty well.
You fully in all your other sports that you're doing,
so you're very active and you must be dominating. So
just keep out of mate, and keep trying your best,
and don't worry if you have a little sort down.

Speaker 10 (46:24):
Okay, Okay, I will Yeah.

Speaker 4 (46:28):
That's great, great advice. Now are you going for the
Sydney Swes now? Now have you left there? So then
going across to the Swannies?

Speaker 10 (46:36):
No, but they would be my second.

Speaker 4 (46:40):
Good answer, fantastic. Okay, Nash, that's your turn to ask
Patty a question. Any questions for Paddy.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
Have you got any advice for forward and back line?

Speaker 8 (46:53):
Oh?

Speaker 11 (46:54):
Man, I haven't got much the forward tis back I think,
but probably the one thing made is when you started
just try and stop your man's and kicking goals and
then just a little one these days mates, try and
get as much of the ball as you can, if
you can get a few kickses at back when it's
always a little kirk and always people look look a

(47:16):
bit harder at you, so they're probably the two, mate,
But it always helps to you've got a few big
guys around that are not bad defending. You just drop
off and drop off your players. But I've got my
brother Tom down there and Ramps. They look after me
and I can stead of just float around and do
what I want. So you can find a good back
line and just slip in there.

Speaker 8 (47:32):
It works perfectly, Mate's advice.

Speaker 2 (47:37):
Very nice.

Speaker 3 (47:38):
How good to have Patty mccarton on the show with
us this morning. Really appreciate your time, Patty, your start
for doing that for us, and all the best for
the season ahead with the Swans.

Speaker 8 (47:46):
Mate, Now, good boys, thanks you soving me good stuff, Mash.

Speaker 4 (47:49):
How good was that, Nash? Now you're actually going to
a Sydney game.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
I'm going to the Sydney and Gabba versus Brisbane lines.

Speaker 4 (47:59):
Going up to the Gabba Sydney and Bridsbane lines. Well,
guess what, Brende, we might try and get Paddy. He
might get young Nash in the room.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Pressures on you to get that done for Yes, but
it's on the record.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
Now, I got a guy We'll get you in the
rooms there. How good would that be? So you going
the rooms probably after the game go around, get a
few autographs Sidneys ones.

Speaker 2 (48:19):
Yes, that sounds like a terrible he doesn't it.

Speaker 4 (48:22):
Vulgerable buddy would be there.

Speaker 2 (48:23):
Well, oh that be exciting.

Speaker 4 (48:26):
Yeah, so make sure you take your autographic book all right,
get that ready on your phone.

Speaker 2 (48:30):
A few there you go, Nash.

Speaker 3 (48:32):
You also got one hundred bucks suspend it into sport,
which is cool, so you can go and buy yourself
a footy or a jersey or whatever you want. So
that's coming your way thanks to Macas. Pick up the
MC value boundleful just twenty six to twenty five at
Macer's drive through today. If you like to dominate someone
for our Good Sport Award, head to the website of
the station you're listening to us on it right now
and look up our water Boys page.

Speaker 2 (48:50):
And you can nominate them.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Could be a player, a coach, of volunteer, anyone doing
a wonderful job in the local sporting community.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
Great to have you in the studio, Nash. What's on
for the weekend, mate, not that much. I don't think nice.

Speaker 12 (49:02):
He's just going to do some study.

Speaker 4 (49:04):
The schoolwork is and he lives down seven Old Beach
actually built castles swim.

Speaker 2 (49:11):
Awesome mate, Great to have you in and hope you
that's a nice memory for you moving forward.

Speaker 4 (49:16):
That's be fantastic.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
Yeah, absolutely, all right.

Speaker 3 (49:18):
That is the good sport of warf for this week.
Don't go anywhere up soon. We've got our crystal ball
predictions for twenty twenty three. Can't wait to see how
Blair's got you along one six, seven eight. Ryan Kinner's
not too far away as well.

Speaker 2 (49:30):
That's all. Come on the water Boys this morning thanks
to tas back your local kbuta Dealer.

Speaker 3 (49:34):
He's the water Boys, thanks to our great partner at
tas Back your local kbuta Dealer.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
It's the water Boys with Brent Coostelo and Blair Brownless.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
Turning their attention to the national game. It's the water
Boys AFL ramp.

Speaker 3 (49:48):
All right, this is where we get to pull out
the crystal ball and give our predictions for season twenty
twenty three.

Speaker 2 (49:53):
Before we get to ours message, Cam Brown Yes, y yes, Brownie,
brown Dog, you can't be here to whever we give
us your predictions. Really shocked out this Calmen Medal, Aaron Norton,
Pelly for Sure, Brownlight Metal, Bonto and Pelly Rising Star
Sam Darcy. He's gone dog dog Dog and then he's.

Speaker 4 (50:15):
Given me a premier.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Actually, I don't think you gave the premiers, but he
give me an out of order top eights, so no
particularly order. Brisbane, Melbourne, Western Bulldogs, Geelong, Sydney, Richmond, Collingwood
and Adelaide. He's got in there too, which is interesting,
terrible unless he report, I don't know, unless you know something.
He is the analyst out of the three of us.

Speaker 4 (50:36):
I suppose I was a little bit more closely than us.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
Now, we had a production meeting about this during the
week and we've got our separate top eights.

Speaker 3 (50:44):
But we figured it came out of a top ten.
Really didn't that We had to unfortunately leave two outside.
Look forward to seeing how you've left out of this.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
You go first, Well, I've got Geelong, no surprise there.
Back to back lines, Melbourne, Richmond, you can't see Richmond
top four? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they're up and about
I'll be I know a few people have tipped them
out of the eight. But you know, quality recruits, they've
been down for a little bit. They've underperformed. I reckon
the last couple of years. Sydney of course, there Freo,

(51:15):
the Dogs with that forward line power, and then Collingwood.
I've got Carlton out and Port Adelaide.

Speaker 3 (51:23):
Okay, on one is Geelong Melbourne who I've actually got
his premier. Yeah, Bricebyane at three, Sydney four, then Bulldogs five,
Freo six, Sydney Richmond seven and Carlton.

Speaker 2 (51:38):
I've got Collingwood missing missing, which is a big call.
And Port Adelaide as well. Yeah, they're more ten. I couldn't.
You can't get everyone in and I just think, yeah.

Speaker 4 (51:49):
In that, I think it's down to ten and both
he could flip those and we have as well. So
it's hard. Obviously now wouldn't spoon This is not so hard.

Speaker 2 (51:59):
We'll get a good indication round one. See the West
Coast or North Melbourne.

Speaker 3 (52:02):
You'd think and that was paying you watching it because
I thought we're going to be better than what people
thought will be this year. And I watched the Adelaide
preseason game against them the other wing and they were
terrible because Adelaide not great, so North ELBN West Coast
Round one will give us a.

Speaker 4 (52:17):
Span.

Speaker 2 (52:18):
Yeah, I think we'll win a few games.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
At home still, yeah exactly. Yeah, you haven't done that
lately though last years. If you start to win a
few at home, and that's our free as big advantage
over there to Yeah, that's why I got and.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
I thought they'll win win games at home. But yeah,
and Coleinwood obviously won a lot of close ones last year,
and maybe they will have to take a little step
baut today. It's hard, but yeah, we'll see what happens.
What about Brownlow for you?

Speaker 4 (52:42):
Well, I got Bonton Pelly. I think he's been absolutely
superstar and deserves one. He's been thereabouts in previous years.
And Clayton Oliver he's in exactly same caseist. Yes, I'd
like to see them both win it. Both great players
and both would be deserving. They've been thereabouts for a
long time.

Speaker 2 (52:58):
I've got Andrew Brayshaw, yes, actually.

Speaker 4 (53:02):
Him a lot, Yeah exactly, so that'd be nice. And
then the Coleman Medal Charlie Kerno for me, yes, yeah,
fair enough, Yes, so I've got a hawks.

Speaker 2 (53:15):
You're as bad as Browning Seriously, I'm just ridiculous.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Tom Hawkins only thirty seven years ago, and as he
gets older, he'll just draw himself closer to the goal square,
which would Yes, the big ball will kick more goals. Yeah,
Jeremy Cameron, he'll be exciting to watch him this year.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
What about the rising Star and anyone but Ashcroft?

Speaker 4 (53:36):
No, no, I don't think they can. San Darcy is
going to be superstar. As camera and mentioned he'll swing
forward and back. But Ashcroft they're talking about when they
say ready made player and when they say Nick Dakos
was the same they said they could have played their
final year of under eight en comp they could have
played senior.

Speaker 2 (53:56):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (53:56):
Yeah, that's how good he is. So he's a great
pick up for him. And it's great that he went
father and son and all those things, so he'll be
an absolute superstar.

Speaker 2 (54:04):
We're going to go to our tips for Thursday and
Friday's games, so we're not back till Saturday. So the
big one traditional season opener, Richmond Carlton at the MCG.
It'll be a cracker. Hopefully Lockeye Cowen gets a debut game.

Speaker 4 (54:18):
Yeah, yeah, that'd be super. Get him in lockey Cowen
can get into that team. But Richmond used to dominate
this clash and Carlton won last year and I think
Carlton could get over the top early again based on that.
But you really don't know at this stage. So maybe Carlton's.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
Toss the coin and that's what you want because if
we all had those users, you stay where you just
knew what the result was almost going to do.

Speaker 2 (54:43):
So that's great. We're going to it and I think
Richmond will start favorite with the bookies, but anyway can
win one.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
I reckon about Friday Night Cracker Gee long this is
coming or this will be huge. So two bumper crowds
to start the season. Yeah, the schedule is really good,
but you know Geelong went that impressed, if to be honest,
against the lines, they didn't really care or show up.

Speaker 11 (55:03):
On that one.

Speaker 4 (55:05):
Yeah exactly. But I think Geelong once the once they
get on the MCG it all comes back to them
and they'll put on a really good show against Collingwood
and they'll be too strong.

Speaker 2 (55:15):
Very good. That is our predictions for season twenty twenty three.
Make of them what you will. We're going to go
to another break on the other side of it though,
Ryan Kinder, he's in the house with his guitar.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
He's tuning it up now to go launch the season
four US with a typical water Boys style. Looking forward
to it Ryan Kinder's next year on The water Boys
right across Tasmania thanks to taz back.

Speaker 4 (55:36):
This here's the water Boys.

Speaker 2 (55:39):
Thanks to tas Back. You're local Kabata dealer.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
It's the water Boys with Brent Costello and Blair Brownless
and we are winding back the clock and bringing back an.

Speaker 2 (55:47):
Absolute favorite of the show.

Speaker 3 (55:49):
He joined us a few weeks ago for the Big
three hundredths where we went down memory lane and had
to look at some of his best work, and he's
decided to come up with a song to launch the
AFL Season four US.

Speaker 2 (55:59):
Here on the Wall of Boys speak of the great Ryan.

Speaker 3 (56:01):
Kinder, ACRA award winning musician, the biggest award you can
get in commercial radio.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
We've got him here in the studio.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
Good right, how are you good for?

Speaker 2 (56:11):
How are you they're good? How's that pump up? Was
that all right?

Speaker 4 (56:13):
That was fine?

Speaker 2 (56:14):
That was I was just reading off the script. You
gave me.

Speaker 4 (56:20):
A great to having the studio and you've been thinking
about the season the head, haven't you?

Speaker 3 (56:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (56:25):
I was.

Speaker 12 (56:26):
I was scrolling through social media and I think the
a f L came out with something like who can
it Be?

Speaker 1 (56:31):
Now?

Speaker 12 (56:33):
Yeah, and the mind just chipped over and there was
some some really great rhymes in that song. Putting the
teams together with a couple of players and now a
bit really stumped me. In the who can It Be?

Speaker 4 (56:45):
Now?

Speaker 12 (56:45):
There's not many players that Ryan with. Now we've got
Patty now that's about it, and his brother that I'm
not sure. I think he plays for Richmond, but Thompson
Thompson downs, Yeah, Thomson would have been good if the
Plower was still coach.

Speaker 2 (57:01):
So what have you done, Roger? You've retitled who Can
It Be?

Speaker 8 (57:04):
Now?

Speaker 2 (57:05):
That famous song? Yeah, the men at Work? Classic?

Speaker 12 (57:09):
Just to I suppose pose a few questions. Who's going
to make the eight?

Speaker 1 (57:12):
Yes?

Speaker 12 (57:12):
What could pan out in the AFL season? And how's
it gonna go for a couple of players?

Speaker 2 (57:17):
Very nice? Well, here it is Ryan Kinder, he's got
the guitar with him. Who can it Be?

Speaker 6 (57:21):
Now?

Speaker 2 (57:22):
Has turned into Who'll make the eight?

Speaker 8 (57:23):
Now?

Speaker 9 (57:23):
Here it is on the water Boys, who cannot be Knocking?

Speaker 12 (57:34):
And Finals though it's not the Bombers.

Speaker 4 (57:39):
We know that for sure.

Speaker 6 (57:40):
The Sydney Smarts can't sleep bad night after the Grand Final.

Speaker 12 (57:45):
Their players can't turn off their lads.

Speaker 9 (57:48):
It's a long spent preseason all alone.

Speaker 6 (57:51):
They don't get out much. They're living on people's arms.
Not Dan is looking fast.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
We're in the bar.

Speaker 9 (58:00):
Comes this back line, they run and we'll make the aid.

Speaker 6 (58:04):
Now it won't be the Saints now now I'm be
sure's Patty down.

Speaker 4 (58:12):
It's more like Charlie Kerr. Now, no Hawks pick themselves
off the floor. That be okay.

Speaker 6 (58:22):
If they're boards could get the ball poured out of
lay might give him a scare. Well, let's face it,
does anyone really can? Can the Pies keep pays? Let
us wait and see? We sure know Jack Innovan, he's
up to speed.

Speaker 4 (58:41):
The wax?

Speaker 9 (58:42):
Where advance turn up or stay on the ski slopes?

Speaker 4 (58:46):
What about creel? Do they get the heavel? How far
can the Bears go?

Speaker 9 (58:57):
Will Ashcraft get a brown load? Can Rustlin save Saints?

Speaker 11 (59:04):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (59:05):
Will I run away again? Let's hope the Suns don't relocate.

Speaker 6 (59:12):
We don't want them. As to his matey yet, I
thank you the fucking the dog is good. How long
that's mustache? Rove?

Speaker 12 (59:32):
Even with tim to run to.

Speaker 4 (59:36):
Richmond, still miss the eighth?

Speaker 2 (59:39):
Okay, outstanding?

Speaker 4 (59:45):
Cool?

Speaker 2 (59:45):
Is that very good man? You're very talented human.

Speaker 4 (59:48):
Let's ryan every blog like may Breno. Are you the same?
I got that guitar when I was young. Jeez, I
wish my parents forced me yes and go down that
path like that because it's so cool and.

Speaker 2 (59:59):
You make it look Is it hard to play the
guitar because you guys are musicians make it look easy,
but it can't. Bag had it your fingers going everywhere.

Speaker 12 (01:00:10):
No, it's it's definitely in a quiet skill. But when
I realized I couldn't play footy, it was easy to play.

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
I was the next best option.

Speaker 12 (01:00:19):
I don't think sports loss was music's game.

Speaker 2 (01:00:23):
Great to have you in mate, Thanks so much for
doing that. That must take your hours and hours to
put that together.

Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
So appreciate. There's bits about Melbourne Football Club going back
to the snow. Yeah, you've got to cut the go
to areas. The bear is going to mention as well.
It's good.

Speaker 8 (01:00:39):
Yeah, I like that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
Go to the lines.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
We'll stick around here. Roger will just want up the show.

Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
The Inevitable had its last track run yesterday ahead of
the All Star All next weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:00:49):
Yes, looking for twenty six dollars, is it real? Twenty
six dollars? I had a look Alligator Blood, mister Bright's
I'm thunderstruck. This is a quality race next week and
so but they do like their chances. Scottie Brunton, he's
been pretty bully shit about the Inevitable.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Everyone I speak to as well the same thing.

Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
His maining form has been brilliant, but that's in tazzy
obviously stepping out because Alligated Blood and those horses I
mentioned they are absolute superstars.

Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
Absolutely, just a shout to to Clarence Zebras and South.
How about the Women's Summer Cup final and the soccers
this weekend? The Supercars round Castle before that and Bo
Belbourne is taking on Nikita Zoo tomorrow, big big stage,
Kudos Bank Arena.

Speaker 2 (01:01:31):
Prime time back into the US with the boxing, So
good luck to Bow. Try to get m on the
show today, but obviously very busy schedules so couldn't make
it happen. But absolutely I'm looking forward that. What's on
for your weekend, gentlemen?

Speaker 4 (01:01:43):
Well this weekend, what the Sun's out long weekend, isn't it?

Speaker 5 (01:01:46):
Ryan?

Speaker 4 (01:01:47):
On weekend for some of us? What are you doing? Then?

Speaker 12 (01:01:50):
I'm going to catch up on some sleep. We had
eleven girls over, gay had a sleepover about eleven years old. Yeah,
and I'll tell you what. I'm going to catch up
on a few heads.

Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
Sorry he said eleven girls, not eleven year old.

Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
Sorry.

Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Yeah, yeah, fantasy. Yeah, that would have been hours of fun.

Speaker 12 (01:02:09):
Hours of miss sleep, I think, yeah, not not heaps.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
So I'm going to go with the boxing the mates
tomorrow and then I've got another footy draft tomorrow and
not so.

Speaker 4 (01:02:19):
A bit of gardening as well.

Speaker 2 (01:02:21):
We'll give a shout to the g Whiz.

Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Well we're in a fantasy competition together.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
It's just going badif who.

Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
Wins the flag this year?

Speaker 12 (01:02:29):
Run the Brisbane lines.

Speaker 8 (01:02:32):
To argue.

Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Thanks again for coming in, Roger. I really appreciate your work.
Be good to see you back next weekend. I think
the Brown Dogs away, so you're doubling up, which is
which is good.

Speaker 4 (01:02:45):
Back to back.

Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Have a great weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
Everyone will catch you next Saturday morning for more fun
