August Weather Shift: Cooler Temperatures Replace Summer Heat

and I'm the weatherman.
Thanks for checking in totheweathermanpodcom On your
Monday.
It is the 18th day in the monthof August 2025.
And we're looking at a littlebit of a cooler flow across the
Northeast.
There were some thunderstormsthat rumbled through in the
latter portion of Sunday andSunday evening and basically it
was between a quarter and maybein some places up to an inch of

rain and downpours, but that wasextremely localized.
That's the way thunderstormsare this time of year Most
places just getting lightamounts, but under one of those
cells that are reallyintensified can get tremendous
amounts of rainfall.
Well, the high-pressure cellbuilding in right now is located
across the central and northernGreat Lakes.
It'll move almost to east,slightly southeast, towards the

New England states, and it'llkeep us in a northeast flow from
Philly up to New York and up tothe Boston area.
The weather should be coolerthis week, not as hot as it has
been last several days.
As a matter of fact, ourtemperatures for the remainder
of this week are probably notgetting up above 83 or 84
degrees generally across mostareas from, as mentioned,
philadelphia, new York and theBoston area, especially up in

New England, where it will becooler in the 70s, temperatures
in the 70s on Tuesday andWednesday.
Next possibility of somerainfall on the light side.
That would be either onWednesday afternoon or Wednesday
evening.
Another high pressure builds inwith some cooler weather for
Thursday and Friday this week.
So pretty looks like we'regoing to be trending cooler
through this month of August andlight amounts of rainfall as

well.
If you are traveling on thisMonday, it looks pretty good in
Atlanta and Charlotte, noproblems.
Down in central and southFlorida there will be some light
day thunderstorms but doesn'tcause them very much.
As far as delays weather-wisein this type of situation,
looking at fair conditions buthot in Houston and Dallas-Fort
Worth.
Clouding up looks like somelate day and evening rain in
Chicago Some of the heavier rainwill be all across the state of

Minnesota.
So Minneapolis will be overcastwith rain.
Some delays getting into there.
Dry conditions in San Diego, la, san Francisco.
As a matter of fact, frontalsystems move through the Pacific
Northwest.
A clearing trend for Portlandand Seattle.
No problems weather-wise flyinginto those places over the next
24 to 36 hours.
